Josh wasn't so happy anymore. He figured, he was going to get through to this girl even the slightest bit, he would have to step it up. And he did. His expression was more so blank with a hit a anger. This was his soldier mode. Mostly emotionless and wanting to get to the facts. No delays. He swiftly walked over and helped Ebony up, not in a very kind matter as he normally would have just helped her up simple as that. He folded his arms as he stared her down. "Don't ignore me." He growled some. "I asked you what is wrong, something is. I can tell...not just by you trying to sneak out your window..." His expression didn't change. this was almost a completely different Josh...no chuckling, no jokes...No happiness. "If someone is trying to hurt you or something let me know." He pulled his arm back to grab his gunblade and it flipped open as he aimed it at the floor. "You might not think much of me but im a damn fine soldier and i can take out anyone." He grumbled with a tone that could make someone shiver.

Ebony was, in a matter of simple terms, shocked. And shocked as in she just stood there and stared as Josh went on, and not looking down like a little kid got caught stealing candy. Over the time she had met Josh, he had never sounded like this. Sure, his tone had gotten serious at some points, but not like this. He was mostly jokey like around her, but now he was actually serious. And with the way he was looking at the moment, it looked like she wasn't going to be able to swindle her way out of this one. Especially with his gunblade out and ready.
Ebony sighed and went to go sit on the bed, racking her brains for a good way to explain this to him. She figured she would just give it to him straight.
"The Board of Elders at the Lestava Magic Academy have asked me to come back to the school and receive an 'act of forgiveness' for expelling me. It's obviosly a trap, seeing as how if they wanted to forgive me they wouldn't have waited two godda*n years!"
Ebony took a couple deep breaths keeping her anger down. She didn't want anything to explode at the moment.
"I was planning on going there by myself, confident that I could take on the old geezers by myself. I know the location where they want to meet me and I also know what types of magic they can use and how to counter-act it. I was just about ready to leave when you walked in, and stopped me, in a way."
Ebony let go another sigh, and looked back at Josh ready for whatever he was going to throw at her.

Josh folded his gunblade back into its pouched and folded his arms as he stood there and listened to her speak. The whole thing sounded fishy to him. Like it was a trap, and thats what Ebony thought too. Josh sighed and looked away, his angst moment still there but he didn't want to say anything rude or something, so he thought before he spoke. He looked back at Ebony, his eyes piercing right through her but his words seemed to be less...aggressive. "I'm going with you." He simply stated before looking away. "You can complain as much as you want...But for your own safety...let a professional Soldier be your...side kick for this mission." Josh rubbed his temples, another headache coming on, but not the virus from before, just a headache. This...side of him wasn't the most pleasing, although he played if fairly well, and alot around others, just not Ebony...or family.

"I knew you were going to say something like that."
Ebony jumped off of her bed and went to close her window. No point in keeping it open if she didn't need to use at that moment.
"Well, we'd best be going. It's not a long walk, only about ten to fifteen. They didn't say a time on the letter, so I'm sure they'll probably be ready for us at any moment. Of course, with them knowing me they'll assume I'll be coming immediatly."
Ebony headed out with josh in tow and they soon arrived at the Academy. Ebony looked at the gates, thinking that the Elders most likely set out the letter without telling any of the faculty. That's how they worked. Only told others if it involved the whole school. Ebony walked along the wall, until she came to the area where the building of the meeting was located. She hoisted herself up and over the wall. She looked around before motioning to Josh to come over.

Well josh was pleased she didn't object to him tagging along. Of course he was more than tagging along, if this turned into a fight he would be right there with her taking out anyone that tried to hurt her or himself. He kept his gunblade in his hand as they walked just to be safe, and once getting to the spot Ebony needed to be, he gripped it tighter. When she motioned for him to cross over he nodded and stepped back a few feet before jumping and using one arm to hoist himself over and land back on the ground easilly, soldier training, it worked miracles for stuff like this. "What now?" He simply asked looking around the gunblade in his hand feeling heavy but he gripped it tight still.

"We go in. Be on the alert, though. These guys may be old, but they know what they're doing."
Ebony quickly broke the lock on the door, and entered. The building was slightly dark, but Ebony could still make out the outlines of tables and other such things. Suddenly balls of light filled the room, illuminating the place fully. Ebony looked up quickly to see the four Elders looking down at Ebony and Josh all staring with grim faces.
"Welcome back. Ebony."
"Yeah, yeah. What do you four morons want now?"
[shadow=black,left,300]"You insolent child! How dare you speak ill of us!"[/shadow]
"I'm not a child and with me not being a student, I can talk any way I want! Now what's the real reason as to why I'm here and don't say it's because you want for forgiveness!"
[glow=white,2,300]"Smart child."[/glow]
"I'm not a child!"
"Well seeing as how she has already figured out part of the plan we might as well proceed. Varen?"
I agree, Conrad."
Varen, the leader of the Elders motioned his hand in a pulling motion. Ebony's shirt was pulled forward, as she was caught off guard immediatly. Suddenly, she stopped and a glass container appeared around her. She looked around quizzically, before realizing what they were about to do. They were going to pull the source of the Black Arts right out of her.
[glow=white,2,300]"We are sorry to do this, child, but as you know it is the only way."[/glow]
Koen, the kind elder who had just spoken, reached out his hand. Something glowed in it, and after concentrating for a moment he threw it down into the container. It hit Ebony square on, and entered her body, sending her down to the ground convulsing. She could feel it enter the Source, and she braced herself for what was about to happen. The Seal that held the Source together broke and all hell broke loose. Pentagrams appeared out of nowhere and black bullets, knives, and even Abyss flew out of them. One such pentagram appeared on Ebony's back and balck wings sprouted from it, onnly to fall off and be replaced by another pair. Ebony meanwhile was on the receiving end. She felt immense pain throughout her entire body, and she laid on the ground curled up in a ball, eyes closed shut trying her best not to scream bloody murder.

Josh's eyes quickly changed to the new surroundings, and light. He stared at the elders who well didn't look tough, but he would never underestimate them. Magic was a very fine art to accomplish and it was dangerous, so whatever Josh would do, he had to be careful. Soon things moved too quickly for Josh to help Ebony herself. "Ebony!" He saw everything that was happening and imagining how painful it was. She must be hurting so bad inside. Josh gritted his teeth and clentched his free fist as his eyes shifted to the elders. He then gripped his sword with both hands and ran at them letting out a sound of angst as he jumped up and tried to attack them with his gunblade, he would do whatever it takes...to make Ebony safe again. He had to stop the pain she was going through!

Ebony could barely hear Josh shout her name, but she was able to look over as he rushed at the Elders.
"Josh...no..."
Another pulse of pain shot through her body, and she moved back to her original position quickly. If this kept up, her body wouldn't be able to take it. She would die.
The Elders scattered as Josh attacked them. Bronwen, the darker one of the bunch, sent a wave of magic his way. Conrad, the wisest, and Varen, the leader kept watch of Ebony making sure nothing got in the way of the distortion. She still sat in the glass container. That was what kept the spell inside her. If the glass broke, the spell broke, and Ebony would be free of the pain and torment. And the Source would be Sealed up once again inside her. Koen, meanwhile sent protective spells around Conrad and Varen making sure they didn't get hurt. Bronwen would be fine on his own.

Josh wasn't really ready for any magic attacks, although he should've been. He was hit with the magic thrown at him and he fell back towards the ground he tumbled backwards but managed to land on his feet. He gritted his teeth looking at all 4 of the Elders. Seeing it would be nearly impossible for him to take them all down himself and strictly on physical attacks, and then he looked over at Ebony and an idea sparked his mind. A smirky smile appeared on his face as she bolted for the glass, pulled his gunblade back and smashed it into the glass making it shatter and the spells disappear. Josh ran, gunblade in one hand over to Ebony "Ebony....are you okay?" He said holding his blade infront of her like a sheild, he could deflect any magic with it if he needed to.

EBony felt one last jolt of pain as the Source was Sealed up once again back inside her. She let out a long breath and looked at Josh.
"I'll be fine."
She stood up, and glared down the Elders that were now standing together, backing away slowly. Containers like the one that held EBony moments ago took a long time to make. That was their last one in stock.
[shadow=black,left,300]"You'll pay for this, you little whelp!"[/shadow]
[glow=white,2,300]"Oh dear."[/glow]
"Yeah, whatever."
Ebony made the X on her hand and let Abyss out, now under control unlike when he was let loose earlier.
"Abyss. Fetch."
Abyss bounded at the Elders who floated backwards away from the demon wolf. He just continued on. Ebony chuckled before turning back to Josh.
"...Thanks. A lot. I had no idea they were going to pull that on me. You saved my life. So...Thanks."

Josh let out a small sigh of Relief as Ebony seemed to be fine now. That was good. Now to end this and finish this all off before anything else bad happened to her! Or him for that matter, but Josh wasn't so worried about himself. He smiled now at Ebony. "My debt is paid off then. You've saved my life, now i've saved yours...we're even." He chuckled a bit before going back to that soldier form of his. "Do we wait and let your...magic take care of this? Or what?" He asked resting his gunblade against his shoulder as he held it up now. "I personally would like to get a strike or two in." He mumbled low to himself and out of hearing range of anyone.

"Abyss knows when to stop so that he doesn't kill them. Now that he's back under my control, he isn't a snarling monster like he was earlier."
Ebony grinned picturing all four of the Elders running, screaming like little girls, being chased by Abyss. The thought even brought a chuckle up to her lips. They deserved it after expelling her for no reason those two years ago. She turned to Josh as he muttered something about getting his own hits in.
"Eh, you probably will. Abyss usually gets bored after they go unconscious. He should be back soon enough."
After saying that, Ebony felt Abyss go back into the Source, howling with laughter. She just merely grinned as his memories entered her.
"I think you can go and get your hits in now. Abyss is done...Thanks...again."

Josh watched in amusement as Abyss was attacking the elders. It made his chuckle darkly to himself, almost scary. Apparently Ebony had heard about his wanting to get a few hits in, but Josh figured he wouldn't. It wasn't really his place or fight. So he shook his head as he glanced at her. "I'll pass this time around, but if these guys ever try to do a thing like they did today....ill come armed, and with more forces next time." He growled a promise, that he would surely keep. He could find some friends and teach these guys a lesson next time...that is if they pulled a next time.
Josh looked directly at Ebony this time instead of just a glance. "I think we can leave now...I think they've gotten the message than an apology from them...isn't needed." He now grinned keeping his gunblade out JUST in case anything else happened. "Besides...I don't want to see you get hurt again..." He admited a little before walking backwards towards the door waiting for her to come along.

Ebony stood there for a couple seconds in shock. He didn't want her to get hurt? Well, no one had ever told her that before. She ahd to wonder if she felt the same. Well, she did help all those times earlier. Perhaps she did. She didn't know herself. She had saved his life and gotten him to Delatorr so that he could get over the virus. She had to have some feelings for him, right? She shook the thought out of her head, and quickly took a few steps forward to catch up with him.
"Well, I guess that kinda goes the same for me since I saved your life too. Just don't count on it happening again soon."

Josh nodded some at Ebony acknowledging her statement. He knew he wouldn't need any rescueing anytime soon. He felt invincible to be honest, after getting out of the hospital Josh felt like a million dollars. It was great to be better. He folded his gunblade into its pouch before she caught up as he turned to go the right direction instead of walking backwards. "Well that was fun." He said walking over to the wall they crawled over earlier.
Josh thought that this went smoothly, after he had smashed the glass and everything which made a question pop to his mind. "Say...Ebony? While you were in that glass thing, what exactly were they trying to do to you? I didn't look like a murder to me but...magic has its ways...?" He shrugged just curious as ever...and seemingly back to his old Joshy self again.
