"I don't need a vacation. I'm perfectly fine the way I am now," Ebony said wrenching the door of the inn open, and walking in," besides I have another escort job in about one-and-a-half, and I have to be ready. Emilia, I'm going to go take a bath. Bring my dinner up, alright?"
Emilia looked up from cleaning the bar glasses, and nodded.
Ebony walked up to her room, and before she opened the door, she turned to Josh.
"Now if you'll excuse me. I have to regain the power I used up today, training."
Ebony entered her room, and closed the door.

Josh just stayed quiet. Maybe for now shutting up was a good thing for him to try. Maybe It'd score brownie points with her. He just didn't know anymore. Josh went to his own room and sat on the edge of his bed before sighing. "Maybe i should just continue my original task." He said quietly to himself staring at the floor. Was he in way over his head? Probably, his family was like that. Going for the goals they thought nearly impossible, but, they have conquered the impossible before, i mean look at them now, ruling their own kingdom and world! Josh then smirked a smile to himself. "I'm not a quitter." He mumbled softly as his words mushed together with a small laugh. "She's just the girl im lookin for." He grinned.
As he now laid back on his bed staring at the ceiling he plotted. He wanted to show up at this work place, or get her to escort some of his family, of course now if he had his sister's help this would all be a piece of cake for him. Repa was very good with all this plotting stuff, Josh was more of an act now kinda guy. But for now he had to settle with planning all this out before he strode in and swept her off her feet....like that'll happen.
(bahahaha i quoted just the girl XD )

Ebony quickly took her bath, and finished her dinner that Emilia had set on her desk earlier. She would take the plate down later, but for now she had to think. Ebony sat down on her window ledge, and looked out at the setting sun.
This Josh boy was starting to get on her nerves. Maybe she should have just let him go. She did that with any of the others that came to Cocoon. But, for some reason he was different. And she wasn't liking it. Most people who befriended her, stayed their distance, knowing she liked to be alone. But, Josh was...clingy? He was staying close to her. And he was well over her comfort line. Well, fate did work in interesting ways. She would just have to wait and see what would happen.

Josh hopped up from his bed and exited his room, locking the door behind him and walking out of the main building. He rubbed his chin as he stared intensively at the ground, with each step he took his pace got faster. He had to think. But nothing was coming to mind. Ebony wasn't the typical girl that would like chocolates or Flowers or any of that romantic stuff...yet. If he just got her to be at least friends with him, maybe the pieces would fall from there? Josh could have patience. He knew he would need them either way. So much was on his mind right now...like Ebony...his sister still out in the middle of no where....his world still in the middle of a war...and so on. He sighed heavilly as he was starting to gain a huge headache.
Josh stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and closed his eyes as he rubbed the temples of his head, the throbbing began to pound so hard it began to go along with the same beat as his heart. The sounds were muffled around him and the pain was unbearable. He was probably getting sick, a virus from home that had been spreading around. Maybe...All Josh knew was he was in pain and couldnt focus. An agonizing scream ripped through his ears and his eyes popped open to see a flying...beast infront of him. A weapon used by PSICOM to help them fight off any unwanted creatures. "Aw hell! I do not have time for this!" Josh yelled, he was beyond pissed, but this was only making him feel worse. His cheeks were pink and his eyes lifeless as he pulled out his gunblade ready to attack.
The creater screeched again and did a dive attack on Josh, whipping its spiked tail at him and knocking him off balance and off his feet to the stone ground, his gunblade flying out of his hands and landing a good 10 feet away from him. Now he hurt, he was sick, and unable to fight. So he laid there...and waited to die.

Ebony woke up, and heard Josh leave his room. Well, hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with him too much today. She hopped out of bed, got dressed, and left the inn, heading off to train once more at the Abandoned Mansion. That is, until she heard the screech of some beast-like bird off into the distance. Another one of PSICOM's creations. Yay. But, Ebony couldn't help but get an agonizing and foreboding feeling in the pit of her stomach to go check it out. And as they say, you should always trust your gut. So, she headed off into the direction, her pace getting faster and faster as the seconds passed. She finally came to a small clearing, and saw the creature, along with Josh on the ground, unconscious.
"Josh!"
The creature took it's sight off of Josh, and on to Ebony. It screeched and charged forward heading straight for her.
"You're going to be fried chicken when I'm done with you. Black Hell!"
A black pentagram appeared underneath her feet, as black flames erupted around, and on the beast. It screeched in pain, and tried to rub off the flames to the best of it's abilities. Ebony quickly took off her left-hand glove, and wrote a X which glowed in black. She pointed it forward, and concentrated.
"Abyss! Come!"
A pentagram erupted from her hand, and a black wolf with glowing red eyes jumped out of it growling. It looked back at Ebony, waiting for orders.
"You know what to do."
It bounded off, and jumped at the beast, biting into it's flesh, causing it to screech out even more. Ebony rushed over to Josh, and rolled him over so he was on his back. She checked his vital signs, and realized he was running a high fever.
"Josh! You have to wake up! Now!"

Josh didn't realize what was happening till the last scream of the beast sounded like it was merely in the distance, far away from him. His eyes closed and his mind was engulfed into darkness.
.............
The darkness started to drain all of Josh's energy as the throbbing in his head never went away. He awakened on a black floor with nothing but black air surrounding him. His green eyes scanned the area as he tried to sit up but weakly fell back against the floor. His breathing was heavy as he stared at the floor with pain in his eyes. He heard the sound of footsteps. His head jerked up to see his mother kneeling down at him with the look of grief and worry on her face as she checked to see if Josh was okay. "M...mother?" Josh wheezed out weakly in his dream, which he thought was very real. His mother looked at him and smiled sweetly as her baby boy was safe and okay. She placed a hand on his heart and started to speak. "Josh! You have to wake up! Now!" Her voice faded and so did the dream as a light finally appeared.
....................
Josh's eyes slowly opened but closed quickly as he was staring at the sun's bright rays. His head throbbed and his mind clogged of all focus didn't help him as he opened his eyes again to focus on Ebony. "....mother..." He whispered realizing all he thought was just a dream. "Ebony...what are you....doing here?" he muffled closing his eyes again.

Ebony let out of a sigh of relief, realizing she was holding her breath.
"I'm here saving your life. That's what!"
Ebony moved quickly, but with caution, not wanting Josh to get hurt too bad anymore. She placed a light Levitation Spell on him before lifting him onto her back. It would be easier to carry him this way.
"Abyss!"
The wolf perked up it's ears, motioning that he heard his master. He was still in the process of trying to slaughter the gigantic burning bird that was his prey at the moment.
"You stay here and finish that thing off. Come back to me in shadow form when you are finished."
Abyss growled befroe going back ot the task at hand. Ebony moved quickly, running down the streets of Cocoon. She ignored all the stares and murmurs of the other townspeople as she ran to the inn. She broke the door inn with her foot, silencing any and all conversation in the facility.
"Emilia! Call for a physician!"
Emilia jumped out of her shock, and ran to the phone doing what Ebony said to do. Ebony moved to her room, and placed Josh on her bed, going to the bathroom to obtain a wet rag. She placed that on his forehead, hoping that would bring down his fever. She took the chair from her desk, placed it near the bed, sat down and panted from her little cross-country run.

Now things started to get dizzy as Josh was now being moved. His eyes rolled before he closed them tight to try and think of something aside from motion sickness now. This virus, that was haunting Delatorr, had some how gotten to him. Josh blacked out during the whole, running through the streets of Cocoon thing. His eyes opened as he felt a cold cloth touch his forehead and he shivered, sending a bone chilling shiver down his spine as he now looked at Ebony. Didn't Josh like annoy her or something? Why was she helping him now? Josh didn't care at the moment, he was just glad to be alive now. "Ebony...?" He said as the burn on his cheeks started to cool down some, but still remained. "How did you...Why did you...." He didn't really know what he wanted to say so with a sigh he kept it simple. "Thank you."
Josh breathed in deeply and exhaled just as deep as he felt the virus start to worsen. "I need....to get home." His words slurred together into a total train wreck, but he was right, he needed to get back to Delatorr, to their hospital wing, before the virus was set in.

After Ebony finally caught her breath, and saw Josh wake up and speak, she jumped out of her chair, and leaned over him slightly, her hands on the bed, supporting her.
"What are you talking about!? Your home could be halfway around the world! Barely anyone could live through that kind of travel and live, if what you have is so bad!"
With the way Josh was looking, and speaking, it looked like his condition was worsening, and quickly. Ebony had never seen something like this, nor heard of it from all the reading she did in the medical records. Which meant it was probably a disease native to his world. Great. Just what she needed. Ebony moved over to the window, leaning her head on the cool glass, thinking. If he needed to get home so badly, she could always...no, it was too risky. Besides, she had never used the Black Arts to teleport so far...if it was far. Heck, she barely used the Black Arts to teleport anyway.
She felt Abyss return as he settled into her own shadow and return back into her body. She knew barely anything about Healing Magic, seeing as how she thought she would never use it. And right when she needed it, too! She heard the physician knock, and went to open the door for him, letting him silently come in and examine the sick Prince. She was running out of options, and quick.

Josh chuckled a bit before it hurt his head too much he was forced to stop. His breath was steady by now but that was the only thing that had changed. His eyes stared at the ceiling before he closed his eyes again. "I can make it back...All you need...is the right kind of equipment." He grinned some even in this very sick state of his. The coolness of the rag had worn off as his temperature started climbing again. Josh weakly pulled a phone device out of his pocket. "My home world of Delatorr specializes in technology." He said holding the phone out to Ebony as it lit up to turn on. "This thing can...open portals...easy enough to get through without any trouble" Josh tried to sit up but with the scorching pain now reaching his head he decided that wasn't a good idea and laid back down as the physician came in to examine him.
"I've never seen anything like this before Miss." The man said to Ebony. "But...it seems serious..." The man mumbled trying to figure out what was wrong with Josh. Josh simply shook his head some. "Its a virus...prone to wipe out thousands every year in my home world...Thats why I need to get home...."

Ebony took the phone-like machine from his hand, and looked at it, examining it's parts. It was perfect. She could quickly take him back to his home world, get him treated, and be back here in enough time to escort the princess. But...what if he needed her nearby? She couldn't help but feel worried. And she didn't know why. But, when she saw Josh try to sit up, she unconsciously went to lightly push him back down. As soon as she realized what she did, she recoiled back. She quickly put her thoughts back on the phone portal. It was their only relevant action at this moment. She went to the door, and looked back at the physician and Josh.
"I have to go make a call. I'll be right back."
Ebony walked down to the bar area of the inn, and asked Emilia for the phone. She punched in the number, and waited as the rings seemed to go on for hours.
"Mr. Ludwig?...I'm doing alright...Well, I called because I have to talk to you about the escort notice...Yes, I know it's short notice...Well, I-uh-I can't make it. A...friend of mine has fallen ill...and...he needs me at the moment, sir...Yes, I understand...Yes, I'll be right there when you next need me, sir...Alright. Goodbye, sir."
Ebony put the phone back in it's place, and she glanced at Emilia as she walked over to her.
"Ebony, you've never refused an escort. Why now?"
"I don't know, Emilia. But...for some reason...Josh is...different."

Josh laid there as the pain started to worsen. His mind was clear of any worries except for himself right now. Everything else was forgotten at the moment. He listened as Ebony left to make her call and just focused on trying to relax. His muscles were all tense and he finally got the nerve to sit up. It took a great deal of strength as he slipped off the bed and onto his feet. A little unstable but he was good to go. At Delatorr they would take care of him, he had yet to reveal that he was indeed a prince, and being a prince he would get the best care out there. A few shots and maybe a few days in the hospital and he would be back fighting off the baddies once again.
Josh then whipped his arm back to his gunblade pouch, it was there...Good. Ebony must've stuffed it in there or maybe Josh was hallucinating from before and just fell. With this virus many things could happen. "Im sorry Sir, there really isn't anything I can do." The physician said before walking out. Josh was alone and he was going to stay standing, he was trying to be the strong soldier he loved to be, but this virus would have him crawling across the floor if he didn't get help soon.

Ebony walked back to her room, lost in thought, until she noticed the physician walking in the opposite direction of her room. He just shrugged his shoulders and left. She thought so. No idea what it was, just like she thought. Ebony hurried back to her room, and quickly saw Josh standing. Stumbling slightly, but standing, nonetheless.
"Josh! You have to at least sit down. You're sick."
Ebony placed a hand on his shoulder, noticing the immense heat he was giving off at the moment, and looked at him, worry evident in her eyes, but not her face. She noticed the portal device in his hand, and realized he had to go back to his home-world as soon as possible. She looked down, and sighed.
"I'm going with you."

Josh had his eyes closed as he was standing, gripping his phone in his hand loosely as Ebony entered the room, his eyes open and he looked at her as she started telling him to sit down. She looked concerned, he could tell from the look in her eyes. He glanced down at the phone and punched in a few things before glancing at Ebony. "You're coming?" He said feeling winded a bit from the strength it took to stand. "You dont have to...besides...dont you have some....escort thing?" Josh asked as he was trying to figure out why all of a sudden was she wanting to be around him, sick or not, this wasn't the way it was about a day ago, when she said she would throw him off a cliff.
Josh smirked a little. "Well then....I do...have to tell you something.....before we depart." His phone started to glow a blue crystal color as a portal slowly appeared infront of them. "My home world of Delatorr, is ruled by Royalty....now when we arrive....please don't make a fuss over anything....considering I'll have alot of...people around me seeing as their Prince....is carrying a deadly virus." He coughed a bit before stumbling a bit towards the portal. "This wont stay open for long..."

"I...I canceled the escort," she said, helping him try to stand. She watched as the portal, and listened to him talk about his world. But, when he got to the Prince part, that's when she went into shock mode. He was royalty!? This entire time!? And she didn't even think of the possibility!? Mentally, she was hitting her head against a wall, imaging it was Josh's head at the moment. She could take out her anger later. For now, she had to focus on getting him treatment. She helped him get through the portal, and onto Delatorr soil once more. She didn't have time, though, to marvel at the buildings, machines, and devices.
"Where's the palace hospital?"
