Ebony thought for a quick second, before glancing at Josh and then back to her work.
"I get off at five, so be here around that time. That should give you a couple of hours to roam the city and accidently get you into some sort of trouble."
Besides, if he did get into trouble, Ebony could always just use the Black Arts and teleport him out of there, but Josh didn't need to know that.

Hmm...A few hours? He most certainly would be able to memorize the layout of this city at least in that much time. Josh nodded some before a smirky smile escaped his lips. "Alright, I'll be here at Five." He said before turning swiftly and whistling his way out to the streets again.
Once out the door Josh looked to his left, Soliders, to his right, Soldiers, and decided, if someone stopped him, oh he was fighting. If they were going to attack him for no reason, they didn't know what the hell they were doing in the army, to protect civillians, not target them! This L'cie thing must have everyone here so antsy, except Ebony, she was perfectly fine. That was good, knowing there was at least one sane person in this town. So, as Josh wandered around, looking at the various shops and buildings here it came, a soldier looked at him, and well, he of course didn't look normal to this world, so, of course, Josh was aimed at.
"Put your hands up!" The soldier yelled.
Josh smirked a smile as he quickly pulled his gunblade out and took out the soldier. Easy. He left the scene before anyone could see, he didn't murder the soldier, just knocked him out quickly. With all this worry and haste, Josh became interested in this thing called...a L'cie. 5 o'clock rolled out quickly as Josh made his way back to Ebony's work and office. He'd gotten to use his gunblade a few times today, that was probably the highlight of this...kinda blah day. Josh walked into her office, not a problem finding it, and sat down in the chair he sat a few hours ago. "Well...i made it back in one piece."

Ebony glanced back at Josh as he entered her office once more. She was busy putting one of the many books that had been standing on her desk back on the tall shelf that stood in her office. She let them go and let the books levitate up on to their place on the shelf. She then went back to her desk and placed everything else back into her bag. She pulled her bag over her shoulder and walked around her desk so that she was standing near Josh.
"Well then, shall we be on our way then?"

Josh watched as the books levitated up to their spot. So she could do magic eh? That was pretty cool...Did she do anything else besides levitate objects. He waited till she had her bag ready and was next to him now. "Yep, let's roll." He grinned holding the door open for her, like any gentlemen would do. Joshw as always polite to women, his father always brought him up to act with Chivalry, like the knights of old, except not that extreme. No knight in shining armor for any girl who got Josh, just a gunblade and snowy white hair with good manners was what he had to offer really.
Back on topic...
Josh looked at Ebony. "So you can do magic? Is levatation all you can do?" He asked curiously. He was interested in this girl, she seemed different, and He was starting for feel like he could be aquaintences with her, that was always good for him, the more people he knew from the more places, the better. Especially when it came to world wars, if you knew someone somewhere with lots of power, you were pretty well set for that battle. "I can do magic, very little, and heh very poorly if i do say so myself...but its magic none the less."

"Yup. I do magic. Quite a bit, actually. And way more than levitation. But, I can't really reveal anything about that. It's a secret, and I plan to keep it that way."
Ebony stayed silent the rest of they way to the inn. She listened to Josh as he told her about his ways of magic, but she didn't reply. If she told him she knew the Black Arts, there was a high possibility that he would tell someone else, and that would not be good. At all.

Josh nodded with a blank expression. "I understand that. In the Army they tell us never to give anything away about ourselves, but eh my lack of magic skills isn't very important" He shrugged as they now walked in silence. This was okay right? Was she mad at him for asking? Hopefully not because if she was...well he might as well just leave tomorrow for Gaia or any other world. He didn't want to make enemies...except maybe the PSICOM soldiers, that would be a fun enemy to have, but other than that...he just wanted to be normal around here.
(omg sorry for the crap post)

Finally, they arrived in front of the inn. Ebony quickly entered and moved over to the bar, motioning for the barmaid.
"Hey, Emilia. Any requests for me today?"
The barmaid moved over to her, and shook her head.
"Nope not today. Oh who's this?"
Emilia, the barmaid and daughter of the innkeeper, had noticed Josh who stood beind Ebony.
"Heh, this is Josh. He was hoping for a place to stay here tonight."
"Of course. One moment please while I get the key."
Emilia moved off heading toward the wall covered with room keys.

Josh stayed quiet as he waited behind Ebony. He let his eyes wander some as his mind started to space out. He was thinking of back home, what would he be doing right now if everything hadn't changed. Josh would probably be just getting back from his daily workout, getting ready for dinner with his family before talking with Repa before bed time came around. He wished things could be the way they were before...even before his brother Drake's death, when Repa didn't blame herself every day and their little family was happy. Realizing his spacing out Josh looked at the woman called Emilia and waited as she said she would get a key.
Phew, they had a room at least. That was a good thing. "So do I pay in advance? or when I leave?" He asked softly feeling the weight of the gunblade on his back. A yawn escaped his lips unexpectedly. Maybe he was more tired than he had thought. Apparently, because now the soreness in the back of his legs finally hit with a firey pain and he felt his mind get foggy. He needed sleep. Josh looked at Ebony. "Thanks again. How can I repay you for your kindness?" His words were a little slurred at the end but it all came out right?

"You can pay when you leave."
Ebony took the key from Emilia, who just smiled and went back to work. And then, Ebony heard Josh yawn. Well, I guess you could be tired from all that he went through today.
"Don't worry about repayment. They say it's good for the soul to do good deeds or something like that. Come on, you sound like you could use a bed right now."
Ebony led up the stairs to where the rooms were located. And of course, fate had to be weird that day. They key Emilia had given Ebony was the one for the room next to Ebony's. Either it was just coincidence or that little barmaid was planning something that Ebony didn't want.
"If you need anything, just come and ask. But not in the middle of the night. I need sleep too. Night."
And with that, EBony went to her room, and closed the door.

Josh just chuckled. When he got tired it was almost like he was too happy, too smiley and what not. "Ill make it up to you none the less." He said before following her towards the rooms. Ironic, they were right next to eachother...that was....weird. Ish. Oh well, a room was a room. If it had a bed, thats all that mattered right now. With a yawn Josh looked at Ebony before she left. "Can I treat you to dinner or lunch maybe? Please, let me do something nice for you." He said before taking the key in his hand and unlocking his room door.

Ebony stopped midway to her doorknob. As said before, she was a loner, she didn't do all that she did earlier. She turned the thought over and over again in her head, trying to decide how to answer this simple yet complicated question. Finally she closed her eyes, and opened her door.
"No, you can't."
Ebony quickly entered her room, closed the door, and fell on to her bed. She didn't even bother doing abit of research before going to bed like she usually did. She just layed there for a few moments before letting the tired feeling wash over her and sweep her away to dreamland.

What? Did she really just say no? Josh wasn't expecting that. Maybe...she was mad at him? Or maybe she just was shy or something. Something other than hate or anger had to be the reason. Josh just sighed as he almost heard the sound of his sisters voice in his head yelling "OOOOHHH REJECTED!" or "FAIL!!!" Something smart and a way to make fun of him. That was Repa for ya. With a smirky smile he entered his room and collapsed on the bed. Ebony was probably just not....a social girl, a loner. One who liked to be by herself.
Josh yawned once more and rested comfortably on the bed as he thought about today's events. He liked Ebony...and as his eye lids started to conquer him with sleep...It was then....Josh had decided he would change that. He would perservere until either he won or she killed him. Josh just took on a great challenge even a mighty soldier himself might not accomplish.

The night passed quickly, and soon enough morning came. The birds chirped, as the sun's morning rays entered through Ebony's open window. She stirred for a moment, before turning over and falling to the floor. She put her hand on the bed and pulled herself up slightly, rubbing her face with her free hand.
"Dammit! Why me?"
She stood up fully and went to the bathroom, doing hr normal morning routine. She grabbed her bag and opened the door, noticing a note from Emilia on her door. She grabbed it and scanned it over all while leaning on her door outside in the hallway. Another escort notice. Joy.

Josh wanted a good nights sleep, and he definately got one. He crashed hard and woke up refreshed and energized. He had to start plotting what he was going to do for Ebony. This would take some time, and he knew that, but with a little perserverence and a smile, who knows? Maybe he just might win this one over. "Ahhhhh Good day." He streteched before getting himself cleaned up and presentable for today. What to do while on Cocoon? He wasn't sure, as long as the soldiers stayed away from him he was bound to be okay.
Josh walked out of his room, locked it, and put the key in a pocked on the inside of his soldier jacket. Maybe he would try talking to Ebony today, try and convince her to let him do something nice for her. It was the least he could do, after all she did help him quite a bit yesterday. Hopefully she would listen and not give him the cold shoulder today. So that was it, that is what was put on Josh's agenda for today, talk to Ebony.

Ebony was too busy looking over her notice to hear Josh's door open and close. This time it was for some princess who wanted to go on a vacation, but was too afraid that somone, or a L'Cie, might try and kill her on the way. Typical. And she was probably going to be snobbish with the way the notice was written.
"Dear Fal'Cie. I'd rather look over books and scrolls anyday. But if it gives me a room to sleep in, and money to earn then might as well," she muttered to herself.
