Nightmares become real...

"Yeah...... I am fine.... but I guess I got my answer where Alex came from....." Cloud sighed.....And took her hand in his.... "That's not all we're gonna get out of him....Come on...." He pulled her along with him....As they started up stairs. Cloud this time was not gonna play games with Alex....He wanted the answers! That was what he going to ask as soon as he entered Alex's room and as soon as they reached Alex's door without even knocking Cloud just walked right in as he saw Alex sitting on the edge of his bed...... "You got some explaining to do mister! Like for instance....Who the hell are you?!" Cloud was mad of course....After the soldiers busted into the bar uninvited.....Cloud tried his best to ignore Shin-Ra after what happened between him and them...And it was never easy for Cloud to just avoid them.....Cause even Rufus has asked for his help in the past.....But at least Cloud was honest with his friends and told them what he was doing.....Except for now....But the L'Cie thing would have to wait on Zack now.....Cloud had more important things on his mind than worrying about if Zack knew about him or not...Cloud walked away from Tifa and stood near Alex waiting for an answer from the extremely nice customer......Cloud was furious....But he to maintain his own temper....His brand would start to make him sick again if he got really upset.

Alex looked up when Cloud barged in his room....Scared to death now that Cloud would try and hurt him...."You got some explaining to do mister! Like for instance....Who the hell are you?!" Alex was also scared that now that Tifa knew who he was with, she would throw him out....And he had no where to go....So it was either be honest now or lie and get kicked out...."Cloud.....I am from Shin-Ra...But now any more.....It's a long story...See, I was one of Hojo's experiments....I just......I couldn't take it any more....I broke myself out...And have been running ever since...I thought I'd start a new life here in Edge where the Shin-Ra population was not so big around here....But, I was wrong...."
Alex was scared and Tifa and Cloud would see that in his voice....He looked away from Tifa then and looked down...He was not sure they would be able to handle who exactly who he was...And what Hojo did to him....Or for that matter what Genesis did to him....But if not for the Mako Infusion and Hojo's work on him, Alex would still now be dead...."Trust me....I'm better off dead..." He got up and walked over to the window and crossed his arms as he looked out....And the past came back in his mind.....As he saw his girl friend being killed....Her screams never leave his mind....If only he hadn't done what he was told to do....She would still be alive.....

Tifa nodded as she walked up the stairs with Cloud. She didn't say anything though as she walked in and stood there when Cloud asked the question. She waited for an answer listening carefully as Alex explained everything.
"Why didn't you say anything...... you knew they would come after you right? You should have said something.... what if someone got hurt or those SOLDIERS refused to leave.....?" Tifa asked as she looked at Alex now hesitant about the thought of helping him. She sighed turning to look at Cloud as she waited an answer or reaction from him.

"Cloud.....I am from Shin-Ra...But not any more.....It's a long story...See, I was one of Hojo's experiments....I just......I couldn't take it any more....I broke myself out...And have been running ever since...I thought I'd start a new life here in Edge where the Shin-Ra population was not so big around here....But, I was wrong...." "Trust me....I'm better off dead..." Alex's story just shocked Cloud...But when Alex said that he was better off dead that was not a good way to put things....Even Tifa would agree with that maybe....Cloud saw how she was reaction and it looked to him like, she might not be able to trust Alex now....But he was gonna get to the bottom of this....There was more than what Alex was saying.... "Hey, Alex. It's not good to say stuff like that....Everyone has a reason for being alive.....Even you.""Why didn't you say anything...... you knew they would come after you right? You should have said something.... what if someone got hurt or those SOLDIERS refused to leave.....?" "Tifa....He was probably just...scared to say any thing...I can imagine what he is feeling....No I know what he is going through. Especially if you are escaping from the hands of Hojo....But, still, seriously.....You thought we were going to hate you right? That was your mistake to make that first objection about people you hardly know...But, now that we sorta know you.....It's cool with me....I used to be in your shoes...But I can't say nothing for Tifa....Her reaction is only her own...."Cloud looked back at Tifa then. He hoped that she would not be worried and would let Alex stay with them. But if she says no. Cloud can't force her to make her change her mind....What ever she wanted to say goes....Still, Cloud would want to find out more of what Hojo has been up to these days....And maybe Alex could help him with that....

Alex looked over at Tifa right into her eyes then....And sighed....He should've known that she would say that to him....He was so not looking forward to this....But he had to tell her....
"I know! This is all my fault....I just can't....Live like a fugitive any more.....I'll leave if you want me to...." He started to leave but then Cloud said some thing.....And all Alex could do was look down....
"Hey, Alex. It's not good to say stuff like that....Everyone has a reason for being alive.....Even you."
"Tifa....He was probably just...scared to say any thing...I can imagine what he is feeling....No I know what he is going through. Especially if you are escaping from the hands of Hojo....But, still, seriously.....You thought we were going to hate you right? That was your mistake to make that first objection about people you hardly know...But, now that we sorta know you.....It's cool with me....I used to be in your shoes...But I can't say nothing for Tifa....Her reaction is only her own...."
Alex never looked back up. He was scared that Tifa would reject him...Like so many people have....It would not be the first time....But Alex was not the type to stay and fight for himself....He was ready to leave....Because if he let his temper loose he might accidentally harm Tifa and he didn't want that to happen....
Still waiting in silence for Tifa's replay.....His crunched his fist up and felt the skin turn sweaty....He knew he just knew she would reject him....This might be the first time in months this has happened....But Alex was so not feeling to great....He was feeling like his temp was going sky rocketing...He was trying to remain calm....But it was so hard for him....He couldn't let that demon out again....Not again....This is exactly how his girl friend died.....He lost control and hurt her really badly.....But still she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.....But Alex couldn't let this happen.....Not again....So that is why he would put up with a fight if Tifa said no.....

Tifa paused as she turned to Cloud as he explained the reason why Alex might have hid the truth from them. "Maybe......" She said turning to glance at Alex who now refused to meet her gaze. She paused to wondering what he was thinking, and would he fight if she asked him to leave? A sigh escaped her lips as she continued to look at Alex. She now had a reason to hate and not trust him but some how she couldn't she couldn't ask him to leave.
" Hm I don't remember giving you a reason to be afraid.... I welcomed you here and helped you.... We both did isn't that enough reason to start trusting us?" Tifa asked as she smiled at Alex and Cloud. She still could see Alex's gaze focused on the ground. "Dilly dally shilly shally.... Alex you need to forget about your past and move on... Otherwise you would stuck in your past.... Ask Cloud he should know about that..." She replied smiling as her gaze now turned to Cloud remembering how he used to do just that.

"Alex....Don't leave....Don't go back out there....They will most likely get you if you do....I'm not gonna let that happen....I promise....." Cloud was meaning every word he said....Despite what Tifa thought....But then he looked at Tifa when she was ready to give her, her answer..... "Maybe......" " Hm I don't remember giving you a reason to be afraid.... I welcomed you here and helped you.... We both did isn't that enough reason to start trusting us?" "Dilly dally shilly shally.... Alex you need to forget about your past and move on... Otherwise you would stuck in your past.... Ask Cloud he should know about that..." And that was that! Cloud had a big smile on his face when she mentioned her famous saying and his past all haunting him....But she with right....Alex reminding Cloud of himself in a lot of ways it was unbearable.....But, Cloud was ready to help this guy and so was Tifa....At least that part was now settled..... "See.... you are over reacting for no reason....We've dealt with Shin-Ra before believe me....We can handle them....So what do you say now? Will you stay and let us help you....Or not...? The offer stands...." Cloud struck his hand out for Alex to either agree and shake his hand or disagree and walk out like nothing ever happened....But Cloud could see that Alex wanted help....and this was the help he was receiving....

Alex did hesitate for only a second....But only a second....And he grabbed Cloud's hand in his and shook it in agreement.....
"OK.....I'm not perfect....I have a problem....Hojo he....made some thing I never wanted to be...." Now that he was free of worry, Alex could tell them everything....And he let go of Cloud's hand and turned away from them....Felt it was best to not be looking at them when he said this.....
"Hojo experimented....on me. Tifa could only smile at Cloud as she sat down on a chair next to her and listened as he talked and offered her hand. She already offered her help to Alex more than once twice down stairs and now. So she expected or at least hoped he would accept it. "So what do you say?" She asked still smiling at Alex and waited for a reply.
But what came was an explanation of who or what he really was. He explained everything from the very beginning. It seemed that he trusted them completely now, something she could not let down. She could never throw him out now, instead she would do her best to help him.
"Alex.... we might not be able to do much.... but at least we can offer you a hand...." Tifa added and was surprised when he said he would spend the rest of his life making up for that. She shook her head at those words "Alex..... I already told you all I need is your gratitude you don't need to repay me for anything....." she reminded him with a smile.

He was actually captured by Hojo. Now that Cloud knew that man was just as crazy as Sephiroth himself....Cloud hated the man with a hard core passion! "So what do you say?" "Alex.... we might not be able to do much.... but at least we can offer you a hand...." "Alex..... I already told you all I need is your gratitude you don't need to repay me for anything....." That laugh was so loud it muffled what Tifa was saying to Alex....This would one reason he needed to have Tifa with him. To help control his sanity....If it got out of hand....Who knew what would happen? Cloud was not feeling too god right now....Even his stomach started to churn in the very place where Sephiroth had impelled his sword....Everything and everyone in the room with him was like they were not even there.....All he could hear was Sephiroth's evil laughter in his mind. And seeing Hojo's face...The two men Cloud despised the most....Cloud wouldn't even know this that his brand was glowing a light red tent....It looked like faded but it was still glowing.... Cloud was happy that Alex decided to stay....But he was completely with drawn from the conversation that was now going on.....

After all he said they were still on his side? This was unbelievable to him...."Alex.... we might not be able to do much.... but at least we can offer you a hand...." "Alex..... He saw her smile....Her smile was so beautiful...She was so beautiful....Almost like an angel to him....She was an angel to him....He finally smiled and took her hand as well...
"OK...Hey...Cloud...You OK?" Alex didn't know any thing about Cloud....Not even his past...Since Alex was trapped at that mansion for so long, he barely knew any one....And so Alex would not know any thing about Cloud....Not even that Cloud was too once like himself....Alex bent down on his knees and looked at Cloud....He saw that Cloud was looking a bit sick...And he placed a hand on Cloud's hand....That was resting on Cloud's knee.....He saw Cloud look up at him....But not a word came from Cloud....
"Tifa....He doesn't look so good....Is there some thing I need to know?" He then saw the brand on Cloud's wrist....Again, Alex had no idea what a l'Cie was....He knew nothing about the out side world....He was only let out on missions....That was basically it. Alex got concerned as he saw Cloud's condition. There was some thing wrong. Alex looked over at Tifa again and glanced back at Cloud. Alex then felt that Cloud's temp was higher than usual....This was so not good....

Tifa stopped turning instantly to glance at Cloud. Something was wrong definitely even Alex noticed. "Cloud...." She said placing her hand on his as her eyes showed signs of concern. She held his hand gently guiding him to a chair to sit down and continued to hold his hand. Tifa didn't want to let go she had to let him know she was there with him close if he needed anything else.
She sighed when Alex asked a question she wasn't sure how to answer. "He will be alright...... he just needs to rest." Tifa knew this for a fact since this happened before a few time. At the second question she paused with a sigh. She wasn't sure how to answer that one. She promised Cloud before not to tell anyone about the l'Cie thing, she couldn't break that promise now. "I am sorry Alex.... I can't say anything if you want to know you should ask Cloud when he feels better" That was the only thing she could sat now after all it was Cloud's secret it should be his decision who to tell.

"It's alright....You don't have to tell me any thing....He's just tired from the looks of things.....Those Soldiers probably put him out....I'm sorry about that....Really. You two should get some rest....I'll be okay...."
Alex was a bit curious as to what was happening....But if no one wanted to tell him any thing then that was fine....He would fine out about this....He was tired though. He was sure that they were too. They probably wanted some time to themselves then....That would be great....Alex thought about his past when he looked at Cloud and Tifa....How he missed that so much....Having some one that loved you was the best feeling in the world.....

Tifa looked up at Alex and nodded with a smile "thanks for understanding...... if you need anything just let me know...." She replied before turning to Cloud and taking his hand again to help him up and out the room.
Tifa let Cloud lean on her shoulder as she helped him slowly walk to their room before letting him sit on his bed as she closed the door and sat down on hers." Cloud....." Tifa said his name, she was really worried about Cloud and it showed in her eyes. She hated to see him in pain.
She sighed as she got up and sat next to him " I am here...." she whispered to let him know she was there if he needed anything. Tifa even held his hand as she sat there trying to prevent her tears from falling. She knew she needed to be strong for Cloud now that he was there not like when he had Geostigma.
