Nightmares become real...

”Alex Webster…Nice to meet you….” "Cloud...." "Not in front of everyone Cloud...." "Everything is fine.... and you know I can handle things here right?" "That's the one I was telling you about....." ”Old habits die hard sweety…But yeay, I know you can…And Alex you’re totally gonna stay with us tonight right? And why not….? I love showing you that I love you more than any thing….I think we need to show that more often so no one would come in here hitting on you…” Cloud was being very protective….Not physical…But to let others know that Tifa was now taken….And Cloud got a bit jealous when ever a customer hit on Tifa and he saw it….But Cloud tried to hold his tongue and not make a scene….Cloud then wrapped his arms around Tifa’s waist from behind her…And kissed her cheek from behind her as well… Cloud was well aware that Tifa was being that great person now that he loved so much about….She was so caring to others…Even if they were complete strangers….Cloud let go of Tifa then and drank some more of his cold beer….And smiled as he looked at the time…It was almost closing time for the bar..So everyone would be leaving soon….And there is still Alex…Cloud knew that Tifa would not stop until Alex accepted her invitation to stay here for the night….Still there was some thing about Alex, that Cloud could not put his finger on…Maybe it was nothing….Maybe it was just his mind craving for a way to find some thing to think about…Cloud would not express himself about that notion any way…Alex was a total stranger he could be completely wrong….

Alex simply nodded at what she said to him….Cloud seemed to really be in love with her…The way he was holding her and kissing her, said everything…To have that kind of love was to be admired….And Alex was some what sad now that he knew for sure that she had some one…He was beginning... to like her…And was ready to flirt her with his charm….But then he saw her engagement ring and that stopped him….But that would never stop the thought of her in his mind…She was however the first person out side of the mansion that helped him….
How was he going to repay her for this genoristy? He had to some how….But right now he knew that she would just say no that she needed nothing from him…But he knew that he needed a place to stay until he could get out there on his own again….Before this all happened….Before Genesis killed him….When he had a normal life….as a Soldier….And Alex could see that Cloud was thinking on about him….he knew he was….But he would not tell Cloud about his special abilities just yet….”So, where is this amazing room you were talking about?” He was trying to get her to pay attention to him again….

Tifa blush darkened even more at Cloud’s respond and nudged his shoulder slightly. “Cloud…..” She whispered his name as if in protest to what he said. Tifa knew Cloud could be over protective at times. She saw that in the way he reacted even to simple things, but that was a habit she knew Cloud had ever since their childhood.
Now that she looked back she could remember how Cloud would worry all the time and try to protect her from harm in any way possible, and if she remembered correctly that was the reason he left to join SOLDIER wasn’t it? To get stronger so when he returned he would be noticed right?
Tifa sighed though at that though, Cloud never really had to prove or do anything to impress her even back then. She smiled once again turning her gaze to Cloud once his arms wrapped around her waist holding her close.
This was a side of Cloud she never knew. She still needed to get used to seeing Cloud this open, especially with expressing his emotions and kissing her easily in front of everyone. Sh knew it was his jealousy that caused that, Tifa could tell easily.
Every time one of the customers flirted with her she could see Cloud’s expression change to anger. She however ignored their words with a simple smile, but when some of the drunken customers tried to hold or kiss her she always put a stop to that.
Her attention returned to Alex once he asked about the room, and her smile returned to her lips as she tried to suppress the lingering blush on her cheeks. “Right the room….. so your staying…. Its right up the stairs but let me go prepare everything first….”
She glanced towards the other customers and sighed in relief that only a few were left. It would be time to close the bar too in just a few more minutes. Her gaze returned to Alex “are you sure you don’t want anything else to order…..?”

“Cloud…..” Cloud smiled as she said his name like she did and caught her blushing but didn’t say anything to her…She didn’t want to embarrase her any more…. “Right the room….. so your staying…. Its right up the stairs but let me go prepare everything first….” “are you sure you don’t want anything else to order…..?” Cloud was the protective type with Tifa in many ways. For one, ever since they were kids, Cloud felt it was his obligation to protect her…Since her father said he was not a good friend for Tifa. So after that, Cloud left his home town and joined Soldier….And that was when he met Zack…But being just a regular troop, when Cloud re-visited his home town with Zack, & Sephiroth he kept his identity secret from Tifa….Afraid she would laugh at him for not making Soldier….and then Sephiroth had gone crazy then…..And Cloud ever since had been trying to prove to Tifa that he was strong and brave enough to take care of her….He even revealed himself to her when Sephiroth had hurt her….. But the other reason he was like he was, was just to let the others know now, that she was taken….And if there was a druk trying to come on to her, he knew she could handle it, but he would set the record straight. And either make them leave or just flat out push them out of the bar….Because Cloud hated drunks any way….Especially if they tried any thing with Tifa while he was there….But., for all that., Cloud knows….Tifa can fight. And take care of herself….He’s finally seen that awesome karate she gets on….When ever some one is trying to destroy Edge….She can really kick butt… He just let a his arms fall from her then.....He just stood in silence as he let her talk to Alex again….

Alex saw how Cloud was being with Tifa and sighed as he looked down but looked back up when she asked if he wanted more food….? ”Tifa…It’s okay. I’m fine for now…Now where’s that awesome room…?” Alex was trying not to be too chartied…He didn’t deserve it….He was surely not the one to be pampered….Cause he never had been….Alex looked down then…He remembered where he used to sleep at the mansion…On a cold hard mattress that didn’t even had a bed frame….A soft bed would be a blessing to him…This girl might end up being his guardian angel….If she could show him a good place to lay, then why couldn’t he tell her the truth? He couldn’t tell her….Not now at least….
He had to keep his other life dead! And he was so not going to let that little demon living inside him come out and hurt her….That was a definite promise to himself….He might have to leave her any way….Seeing that she would have Cloud to protect her…But, he was so happy to have some one like her open up to him…She was truly the nicest person he’s ever met….Hojo was just plain out evil to him….And made him keep to himself….Hojo told him he couldn’t trust any way…What if Hojo was wrong….?

Tifa's hand somewhat tangled with Cloud's as she stood there and soon blushed when he stood close to where she was. I t actually surprised her when he kissed her in public and held her close the way he did. This was another side of Cloud she wasn't use too. She assumed it was because of him being protective and some what jealous that he wanted to show that she was taken so others wouldn't try to flirt with her.
She didn't mind this though, actually she liked it. This proved that Cloud actually cared about her. but one thing was she didn't want Cloud to worry so much. She could handle what happened around the bar even with the drunken customers. She as actually worried that Cloud might hurt them if he tried to deal with them especially if they tried something else with her.
Alex's words again brought her back to reality and she smiled nodding at his reply. "Sure will go prepare that room then give me a few minutes...." She added turning her glance to Cloud before letting go of his hand and made her way up the stairs.

"Sure will go prepare that room then give me a few minutes...." Cloud felt her hand brush against his…If only she knew how much every touch she gave him always warmed his heart up….And gave him assurance that he was the only one in her life. He smiled as she walked up the stairs to prepare a room for Alex. She was always a warm and giving person to those less fortunate than her. Even she was that way with him when they were kids. She was always there for him when ever he needed a friend. He could actually see himself living as her loving husband and he was certain that she felt the same way…. He watched a few of the customers leaving for the evening and some went up to their rooms that were already prepared for them…What Cloud was thinking about now was Alex…He was curious about the stranger. And wanted to learn more about him…. ”So, while she’s doing that why don’t you have a seat…Relax…And have a beer…” Cloud was trying to get the truth so the best way for that to happen was to make it easy for Alex to tell them who he was by becoming friendly and showing Alex that he could trust him and Tifa….Cloud walked across the bar area and into the living room part of the bar and sat down on the couch and propped his feet up on the coffee table…..He looked at the clock on the wall….Marlene and Denzel were staying with a friend tonight…So it was just Cloud, Tifa, Alex and few customers staying……

With Tifa gone, it was kinda lonely down here. But Cloud was here so not that was not a total loss for Alex…Cloud had got another beer and handed it to him just as other customers were leaving for the evening and others were going to their rooms….Alex saw how laid back and relaxed Cloud had gotten after Tifa left. And saw him walk over to the living room area and propped down on the couch…And Alex did the same….But sat in a straight chair across from Cloud…. And opened his beer bottle…..And flipped the bottle top with two fingers and it landed right into the trash can that was a few feet away from him….And Alex took a drink of the beer….Man it was so redreshing to his lips! It’s been a while since he enjoyed one….
Alex had not known what Cloud was doing at first. That Cloud was trying to find out any information on Alex…And even if Alex knew that was his trying to sneek in a few facts about Alex. Alex would at once have enough since that all Cloud would have to do was to read his file at Shin-Ra….And that would tell Cloud everything he needed to know…But again. Alex had no idea what Cloud was doing…..”Thanks for the drink…How long have you and Tifa been together?” Alex started the question game…..And Alex wanted to believe that these were people that he could trust and become friends with….And maybe become secure and not so scared of where he was….And would felt protected around them that they would not just blurt out things about him……

Tifa smiled as she glanced once last time at the two before heading up the stairs. She walked to the fourth room to the right and opened the door with the spare key she had. Unlocking the door slowly Tifa's eyes glanced down to notice her ring and smiled. She still couldn't believe that Cloud really did propose, and soon she would be Mrs Strife. Tifa blushed and her smile widened just at the thought as she opened the door.
The room was already cleaned, the bed made and ready. She always made sure to clean every room once the customers leave before locking it. Even with the rooms all cleaned, Tifa still had to be sure everything they might need was there and prepare everything before letting one into the room. She checked everything including the bathroom and smiled seeing a few extra towels in case Alex wanted to take a bath.
Tifa smiled before heading back down the stairs to where Alex and Cloud were. She locked the bar and smiles as she walked towards them and sat next to Cloud.

”Thanks for the drink…How long have you and Tifa been together?” "Since we were kids...We were child hood friends...I just can't imagine life with out her." He then heard foot steps come back down stairs. And it was Tifa coming to join them..Cloud gave her his beer as she sat down beside him...And he wrapped his arm around her. And kissed her cheek softly....He was a lucky guy to have some one so loving like Tifa in his life....Cloud never knew what he would do if he lost her.... Cloud was happy now more happier than he's ever been. Since he confessed his feelings to Tifa everything was going great with him and Tifa....And now they were planning a wedding....Despite what Cloud was now destined to do...Tifa always thought there was some thing to stop this from happening....And Cloud too had an objective mind. He wanted to believe that there was some thing that could help him...But right now, Cloud has not found any thing...Nothing to stop his focus...That downed Cloud a lot....But as long as he had Tifa by his side until that time came. He was gonna try and not let it bother him...

"That's some thing I never had...Hold tight to her Cloud...You never know when some one would try and take her away..." Alex was meaning what he said about that. Alex never had a friend in his life....Well, he thought for once he had one when he met Genesis...But that was not an official friendship...He then heard Tifa come back down stairs....And sat next to Cloud...Alex did envy what Cloud had right now. Some one to love him and never be mean to him...And was always there for him..Alex just looked out the window when Cloud gave Tifa that kiss on the cheek....She showed how much she was in love with Cloud too....
It was amazing to Alex that two people could share such a close bond. "I...I think I'll go up to my room for the night...Let you two be a lone for a while...." Alex got up and started to walk up the stairs....And stared back at Cloud and Tifa for a moment....Before he went back upstairs....Tifa told him what room he was staying in and he walked into the room and saw the extra towels on his bed and he smiled at that....He's never been shown this much care before....He placed his hand on the soft towels...And smiled as he started to take off his boots and sat on the bed in the quiet room....How was he going to repay them for this...? They knew he had no money....Alex was getting used to this....Then as it got all quiet...Alex heard a loud bang from down stairs!
Shin-Ra Troops busted the front door in! And Alex heard shouting from the troops saying, 'where was he?!'...."Where's Alex?!!" That got Alex's heart thumping! how did they find him again? But there some thing certain....He was not going back to Shin-Ra!! He would rather die!!

Tifa smiled and blushed the moment Cloud's lips touched her cheek, though tried to hide the heated cheeks as she drank the beer Cloud gave her. Cloud was sitting so close to her and at that thought her blush darkened. Her gaze though moved from Cloud to Alex, and another smile spread across her lips.
"Your room is ready when ever you want it...." She saw him get ready to head to his room and she handed him the key along with the room number. "Its the third one to the right.... I placed everything I thought you might like there already.... but if you need anything else just let me now...." Tifa added before her gaze returned to Cloud smiling once they were alone.
"Now you can kiss me...." she said with a chuckle nudging his shoulder teasingly. Tifa was planning to enjoy her time alone with Cloud though that didn't last long as Shinra SOLDIERS busted through the door.
Instantly, Tifa got to her feet and reached for her leather gloves ready to fight, however their words about Alex caught her by surprise was he somehow connected to Shinra? "He is not here..... no one is here....." She lied not knowing what else to say.

"Now you can kiss me...." Cloud smiled at that as he moved closer to her....And tilted his head... "I would gladly do that...." He chuckled as he kissed her passionately....But the kiss was broken instantly...As Shin-Ra Troopers broke in shouting where Alex was! Cloud at once jumped to up with a jerk! He was surprised to find them here! "He is not here..... no one is here....." "She's right! No one here just us! So just move on! And take your guns with you!" If a fight did break out, Cloud would have to run up stairs and try and get Alex out....He never wanted any one to go back to Shin-Ra unwillingly...While Tifa would fight the guards....But amazingly the guards lowered their weapons....."OK...Strife you've helped us in the past so we will take your word for it, for now....But don't be surprised if you see us back! Move out!" The leader ordered his troopers to move out of the bar and they left....Just continue looking some where else....But what they didn't know was that Cloud was indeed lying....Alex was here...... Cloud sighed in relief as the troops left and took his word for it....He just pulled Tifa in a hug.... "Are you okay? I think our special guest as answers to give us...." Cloud started to go up to ask Alex what was going on.....

Alex was coming out of the shower as he heard the noise from down stairs! And peered around a corner and heard what both Cloud & Tifa said to the troopers....They were now lying for him...This was not acceptable! If those Shin-Ra Troops were to come back, Alex would fight for himself...But now Alex was scared....That Cloud and Tifa both knew where he was from...Shin-Ra....And he was going to be taking back there unwillingly...That would make them raise eye brows about him....But then it was over the minute it started....And Alex sighed heavily as he walked back quietly to his room and sat on the edge of his bed and placed his palms on his face and cried....
He almost lost another friend because of what he was....This couldn't happen not again....There was some one in Alex's life...But she was dead now....Because she opened herself up to him and gave him love....Right now, if Alex's mom was alive, he would really want her right now....He was kinda freaking out slightly....He couldn't let Tifa get hurt like his girl friend did....He just couldn't....That was a part of Alex, that he kept from Cloud....What he told Cloud earlier about holding tight to Tifa, that's what he meant.....Because it could change in a heart beat and you could loose your love of your life he did....He then heard foot steps walking up to the floor he was staying on.....And just waited for to see who it was that was gonna ask him questions now....

Tifa was only teasing Cloud, she didn't think he would really lean up to kiss her, but he did and passionately as well. She closed her eyes wrapping her arms around his neck though only for a moment till the SOLDIERS barged through the door.
She instantly got to her feet with her hand halfway to her back pocket ready to reach for her gloves in case she needed them. Luckily though she didn't and Tifa was surprised when the SOLDIERS left without even a word. She sighed in relief turning to face Cloud as he spoke. "Yeah...... I am fine.... but I guess I got my answer where Alex came from....." Just the thought worried her beyond measure having someone from Shinra in their bar. Could he be trusted? She tried to appear calm but always failed at that. Simply though Tifa nodded and Cloud's words as she followed him up the stairs.
