~HighWind Nightmare~ "You want to keep breathing? Shut up and come quiet." The look on her face was unmasked surprise, yet why should she be surprised? That was what he had made it sound like. Still, she hadn't heard of anyone coming back to life. Gaia must be a very different place then Gran Pulse or Cocoon was. He did tell her not to ask though, so for the most part, she didn't. She couldn't help but comment on it. “I think your world must be a very different place from anywhere around here.” yes, a very different place indeed. (You're making me want to use that word now lol) But she would like to see it someday, first things first, completing her focus and getting back to her OWN homeworld. Pulse was missing two young women, and she wouldn't rest until she got back to the place she had grown up in. Anyone that was worth anything would see the real beauty in Pulse, sure it was harsh, killed anyone that was weak, but that was just how it was. She loved it there.
She smiled then at him when he said he had something to live for, but was surprised when he said it was her. She felt uncomfortable, no one had ever told her anything like that before...how was one supposed to respond when someone told you that? She cocked her eyebrow while he went on about staying with her. She wouldn't admit that she actually like feeling like someone was there for her. Of course she knew Vanille was there for her, but she always had to be strong around her, not show any fear or uncertainty. It still went against the grain, but at least she knew he would be there for her. It was also a plus that he didn't run off every time she punched him.
She laughed at his description of what went together, at least until he paired them together. But she still smiled then, her certainly was pushing the issue wasn't he. She shook her head and had the sudden urge to roll her eyes, but didn't do it. That dang smirk was back, just plastered on his face, taunting her to wipe it off herself. Of course, that would have to mean punching him or kissing him. Either way she was loosing control of herself, so best just let him smirk away.
Then he asked about her beloved Pulse. Anyone who dissed Pulse dealt with her. She knew it was wild, unyielding and harsh, but it reflected her own personality. Besides, the beauty of Pulse was so much more then Cocoon, at least in her completely biased opinion. “Everything. Cocoon is tamed, sophisticated and settled, Gran Pulse is wild, unyielding, rugged, harsh and unsettled. But its beautiful.” She smiled at the thought, her eyes having a faraway look, “Its survival of the fittest for sure, the weak die, its just how it goes, you have to be strong to survive.” She remembered how everyone...absolutely everyone carried a weapon and knew how to use it. “I'm not sure what its like now. I haven't been there for 500 years.” She said softly, “But it used to be that beasts were everywhere, and bloodthirsty ones at that. I can't imagine its changed all that much.” Words: 672 Muse: good Notes: none

Angeal finally released her to think about what Pulse would look like before he got there. Wild, savage, everything trying to kill you.....but....beautiful? She seemed to throw beautiful in the description as if it overshadowed the other more dangerous aspects of Gran Pulse. Still he was sold, Gran Pulse seemed like a place of his dream, and he wanted to test this new ''summon'' that he got out. He was told that it was his to befriend and make his own as he saw fit, but he did not know just how useful it would be to him. Hopefully it was something big. Big with claws, and teeth, Angeal was strong but it never hurt to have a little extra back up when it came to going into new frontiers. The thought of it warmed his blood and made him feel as if he could beat 100 more of those scrawny soldiers. If Fang hit him and made him made again that is.
He stepped to the ledge to make sure no other PSICOM were around and let his wing sprout as free and long as it would like. It had been a while since it was out, or so it seemed, the last time he was using it it almost got clipped. He stretched, there was still a slight pain in his side and he knew it would take about a day even with his accelerated healing process. He placed his hand on the part of the armor that lay over the bullet hole and rubbed it slightly trying not to let Fang see that he was still in pain, but still wincing a bit as he looked away.
Angeal hated bringing attention to his wounds, it made him feel like a burden on anyone who tried to help him. He thought himself too proud to accept anyone's help, maybe he was just as stubborn as she made him out to be. He pushed down on his side hoping the pressure would numb the pain, but instead it just made him wince harder and almost kneel to one knee as he began to breathe slower and heavier. ''Damnit, I'm bleeding a lot'', he said to himself then hushed himself so Fang couldn't hear him, she had worried about him enough for one day and he was not going to have her worrying again on something that was basically his fault.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "You want to keep breathing? Shut up and come quiet." Arms that were around her suddenly slackened. She stepped back and watched him while he seemed to mull over her words. She wanted to go to Gran Pulse, she hated it here in Cocoon. Yes, the land was so harsh it would kill any who weren't strong enough to take it, but she had lived through that. She was homesick. Fang turned around and went to stand by the railing, grabbed her lance off her back, leaned it up against the wall. She turned around to face him before jumping up to sit on the railing. Leaning back with her hand flat against the cement, she watched him with intelligent eyes. Something told her she had intrigued him with her description of Gran Pulse.
She wondered how he could have a wing sprout from his shoulder. Thinking about how eventful the day had been, Fang wondered if anything else exciting would happen. Maybe not, perhaps they could just sit and talk again, but that wasn't going to happen with her. She seemed to be a target for bad things to happen, at least while on Cocoon. Still, she didn't regret the time, even if she had hit him a few times. Sitting there, she glanced over the edge, looking for PSICOM to appear at any moment. They really should be leaving, but a few more seconds wouldn't hurt. Feeling the muscles relax in her body wasn't probably a good thing, at least not here.
Mind turned once again to Pulse, what would it be like now that so much time had gone by? Still be monsters? Probably, somehow she didn't think anything would do them in. Eyes swiveled to the side to look at Angeal when suddenly she noticed his breathing changing. Acute to most of even the smallest changes that took place around her, she didn't say anything for a moment. Leaping quietly off the cement railing around the building top, Fang just as quietly walked to him and rested a hand on his shoulder. “Angeal, we should go.” She realized just how stubborn he was. If she made a big deal out of it he was just gonna wave it off, like any male seemed to do. She wasn't sure exactly why men did it, but she would rather just not say anything about it then have another fight with him. With their equally hard heads and her temper they were bound to get in another fight.
Raising her head and glancing around, Fang wished they weren't on a rooftop, but it wasn't real high, they could get back down to ground level easy enough. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly as she thought in her mind how they were going to get out of it. And if Angeal wouldn't tell her just how much pain he was in, then she wouldn't baby him. If she did he would probably take offense anyway. She would love to be on her own world right now, feeling that never-ending wind and the dirt under her feet. At least she would know where she was there, instead of wandering the different cities in this world. Words: 643 Muse: good Notes: none

Angeal stood up biting down as hard as possible without breaking his teeth and got ready to depart at her convenience. She was not as bossy as he had previously been led to believe, she was really a bit of a sweet girl once you got under all the ''stab, stab, kill you, kill you'' stuff. Angeal's pain subsided, but he knew if he was to fighting a big battle right know he would escape severely battered, if at all. But she wouldn't hear of that, he made her a promise that he would not die on her or leave her behind. But one thing plagued his thoughts, if this Gran Pulse place really was as dangerous and wild as she said, then in his current condition, how would he fair? He was up for the challenge though, big monsters, ripe for battle? Oh this was his place.
He took a deep breathe and walked over to her and froze as blue eyes clashed with green in brilliance. ''So where to?''. His wound was not holding him back too much at this point, just a sting here, a sting there, but if any strenuous activity took place then he was sure it would get worse than it was. He was sure she knew this but he was not going to run the risk of making himself look weak by telling her, true enough he was entirely too proud to be made a fool of by a lucky PSICOM soldier and his luck bullet. Maybe Angeal was the lucky one, he looked up into the sky and wondered what the life of a l'cie would be like, battle after battle, which wasn't too much different from being in SOLDIER, except you had allies.
For his first three years in SOLDIER all he did was fight, they told him that he, Sephiroth and Genesis fought with perfection. Though later it was said that Angeal himself was the only perfect one between the three of them. Genesis was a failed experiment who degraded much faster than any other experiment. And Sephiroth driven mad, so his flaws were mental. But Angeal? A war machine, not quite as strong as Sephiroth, but it could definitely be said that he was the second most powerful SOLDIER in the organization. Still Angeal was flawed not in genetics, but his sense of honor was his ultimate downfall.
However now that he was tasked with killing Sephiroth he had to become stronger, more deadly and he saw this trip to Gran Pulse as an extreme training trip. He pulled his sword from his back and placed it to his forehead and closed his eyes in his traditional SOLDIER method. A prayer one could surmise, one that symbolized his honor and pride. He let it fall from his forehead to his side as he pulled out a few shining orbs of materia and placed one in each of the slots alloted to the blade, only leaving about 3 unused holes.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "It doesn't matter what our Focus is. We do out, whether we like it or not.” She inhaled and glanced around her. His question was fair, where to? She wasn't exactly sure. She needed to find Vanille, but she didn't even know where to start. They had got separated at the gorge, but that had been Fang's doing. Pushing Vanille into that elevator and killing the ability to control it from the inside had been a last minute decision. But she couldn't let PSICOM come close to Vanille. Her brand wasn't scorched, any stress could make the brand excel. She wouldn't allow Vanille to become a cie'th, a monster. She knew full well what happened to l'cie that failed or ran out of time, she would tear down the sky if it would save her. So she had pushed her into the elevator so that Vanille could escape while she held off PSICOM. She didn't regret keeping her safe, but she did regret that they were now seperated.
“Not here, thats for sure.” She said, rising to her feet and putting her hands on her hips. She wondered where they should go. L'cie...it always ended this way for them. “How 'bout we try getting off this rooftop first of all.” With that she nodded her head toward the edge of the building where a metal ladder led to the ground level. She was about to walk toward it when Angeal pulled out his sword and pressed it against his face. The look on her face was priceless, did he worship the sword? “Your really attached to you're sword.” She commented before she made her way over to the ladder. Leaning over the edge, she grasped the edge and swung her legs over. Glancing at him once more to make sure he was coming, she descended down the ladder. Finally making her way down, she waited for him to come before moving off to the north through town. She knew suddenly where they could go. It was a little piece of home at least.
The ruins. They were part of Pulse that was now in Bodhum, don't ask her why, but she and Vanille had woken up there after 500 years of slumber. There might be something there that could help them. She hadn't been able to look around the ruins previously, but now might be a good time. Besides the fact that it was a place PSICOM wouldn't look. They were to scared of anything from Pulse to go there, so it was relatively safe. She took a deep breathe and glanced at Angeal out of the corner of her eyes. “Alroight with you if we go to a little bit of Gran Pulse here in Cocoon?” Either way she was going, he could just tag along or not, but she was going to the one place familiar to her, at least, more familiar then the area they were in now.

''Am I attached to my sword? It symbolizes my pride, and my honor. And without that I am but flesh and bones, sorry if I creeped you out'', he said walking behind her and sliding down the ladder. His sword was not just a sword, it was part of him, part that he held as near and dear as his life. To take his blade from him was like ripping a child from it's mother's arms, well maybe that was an over exaggeration, but you know what I mean reader. Angeal stepped gingerly to avoid anymore pain in his lower abdomen, these bullets had to be like... his kryptonite. Never had a small piece of iron taken so much energy out of him, and he had been shot many times before in his exploits while with SOLDIER.
He finally reached the ground and she was talking about some place that was like Gran Pulse on Cocoon. This idea did not gel with him, he was more than capable of killing whatever threatened him, but he needed time to heal. He was counting on the trip to be the time he needed, but hey he was not gonna complain. This was unsaid but if he faltered at all it would probably give Fang the impression that he was weak and needed to be protected. Which was quite the opposite, he was the finest warrior in his opinion to come from SOLDIER.
Most would crumble at the task of fighting and actually having to try and kill Sephiroth, but Angeal did not, he did not want to do it because it was a friend. But fear was not a word used in his vocabulary, he was much more likely to take the world on alone than run from any one opponent.
''I don't mind, I'm following you ma'am'', he said laughing.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "If you don't have the nerve for it, I'll do it myself. Go on alone, get stronger, and smash Cocoon out of the sky!” Fang shrugged it off, “It didn't, I've just...never seen anyone put it up against their forehead.” She said that with a sideways glance at him as she walked. Then suddenly she scowled slightly, “Pride and honor? How is your honor wrapped up in that sword?” That was confusing, she understood both those qualities, but why would a sword symbolize that? She didn't get it, but she was sure he would answer her question. At the same time she was scanning the area, green eyes going from here to there, taking in the surrounding area. She wasn't worried about herself, but it was best to keep a lookout the same.
She glanced back at him when he laughed and said he was following her. First time she had ever been called Ma'am too. In Gran Pulse they didn't really hold to formalities, if anyone said anything formal it was their entire name, so Oerba Yun Fang, or Oerba Dia Vanille. She smiled then, first times for everything. So they kept walking, she was comfortable to just walk in silence. She enjoyed silence, no need to talk all the time. Long legs kept moving as they got closer to the destination she had in mind. The ruins were out of the town, but not much out of town. Eventually she could see them, and her stride increased. It wasn't Gran Pulse, but it was a piece of it, and anything that resembled home would be nice to her.
Finally getting there, Fang wet her lips as she checked the entrance. Sealed. Eyes turned to the right as she walked there and noticed something familiar. Getting the lance off her back, she glanced at the wall for a moment before stepping back and thrusting her lance deep within a crack. For a moment she thought she had been mistaken about the latch, but then the sound of the opening being unsealed made her nod. The door was open for them, “Ok, we're in.” Smiling at him, she turned and ducked into the entrance that was provided. Once inside, she settled her lance on her back once more and put her hands on her hips again. It was just how it had been when she woke up with Vanille a few days prior. She didn't understand why the door was sealed, when they got out they had unsealed it...but she didn't think to much on it. “Well here we are.” Taking in a deep breathe, she walked deeper into the ruins that had at one time resided proudly upon Gran Pulse.
It was the same as it had been before. She went quietly to the place where she and Vanille had woken up...it was the start of the end for them. But she wouldn't let it end that way! Angeal had given her confidence for the future. She would get to see Gran Pulse once again! She turned around and headed toward Angeal. “We can rest up here for a bit.” was all she said before sitting down and closing her eyes for a second. Thoughts of the future plagued her, but she tried to shut them out of her head. Still, would she ever get to see Gran Pulse or her best friend again? Words: 686 Muse: good Notes: none

This place seemed to be a little more refined than he was led to believe by her previous description. Maybe she was just being dramatic, after all if this was a piece of Gran Pulse then Gran Pulse was not that bad. But still he heeded her warnings and treaded cautiously through a slim pathway. He could usually sense any danger around through his hearing and smell, but this place seemed really docile, then again, it was a ruin so he did not know precisely what Gran Pulse was like still. But as said before not much surprises him anymore, except if Sephiroth was here, and in which case he would not be able to complete his focus today, he would probably die to tell the truth. Even with Fang's help he wouldn't be able to beat Sephiroth in his current condition.
He stalked through the rocks with various plants growing out of them and insects as big as his hand scurrying at the sight of him. Small monsters in the shadows cowered when he walked past the nook that they hid in. ''So this is your piece of Gran Pulse? This is interesting, they remind me of the ruins back home on Gaia'', he said running his hand down one of the walls and feeling it against the leather of his glove. He walked over to where Fang was and sat down on a rock to take a load off.
As soon as he sat down he took a look around and noticed that Fang seemed troubled, he scooted over to her and sat there beside her. ''Something wrong kid?'', he asked nudging her ever so gently. He could see something was plaguing her and he wanted to know what so he could help her with it. Why did he have to be so damn helpful, nay, lovable. Normally he wouldn't care and would let a person sort their own personal problems out alone, they seemed to make themselves stronger when they did it with out his guidance or help.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "You turn Cie'th, and there's no coming back! I'm not...letting it end that way.” She sat there and smiled though her eyes were closed. “Yup, a part of Gran Pulse.” Opening her eyes, Fang scanned the ruins and clasped her hands together. “These ruins used to be on Gran Pulse, don't ask me why they're here on Cocoon though.” That got her thinking again of just why the ruins would even be on Cocoon. The last thing she knew, she was on Gran Pulse, but awakening on Cocoon was scary enough as it was. No one from Pulse wanted to be on Cocoon, just like no one from Cocoon would ever dream of wanting to be on Pulse. The two worlds hated each other. Ever since the war of Transgressions when the l'cie from Pulse had ripped a hole in the side of Cocoon, everything from the 'under world' was labeled as monsters. Because of her memory loss on that page though, Fang didn't realize that it had been her that had ripped the hole in Cocoon. She had transformed into the imperfect Ragnerok and had tried her best, but she hadn't been able to destroy Cocoon without the help of Vanille, who she had been shielding even back then. “Most of Cocoon have no idea that these ruins are from Pulse though, if they did, they'd be stricken with terror.”
Kid? She hadn't thought of herself as young since she had been made a l'cie. She glanced at him and shrugged her shoulders, “Nothing that I can help, so it shouldn't be bothering me anyway.” She said slowly, then her eyes changed, “And besides, if I told you I'd probably just get a lecture about why I shouldn't be worrying about it.” chuckling at that, she glanced at him and refrained from asking about his wound. She nudged him right back, “You shouldn't be worrying about me anyway, it should be the other way around.” Still, Fang didn't ever want pity, she made her own way in the world, and no one would ever make her come to a decision. That was one of the reasons she hadn't asked about the bullet wound. She wouldn't want pity, and she wasn't good at giving it either.
Suddenly her eyes caught a luminous blue glow. “What is that?” She asked out to herself and on impulse she rose to her feet and walked toward where the glow was coming from. Green eyes narrowed as she picked her way over the crumbled ruins toward where the blue color was shining from. Climbing over debris, Fang turned a corner and stopped dead. Jaw dropped and green eyes opened wide as she stared at the thing in front of her. “Angeal!” She suddenly burst out, forgetting everything except the portal. How had she missed the glow before? Had she been so preoccupied with the fact that she was alive once again that her and Vanille had stumbled out of the ruins without so much as knowing they were so close to a gateway to Pulse? “Do you know what that is! Thats a gateway to Gran Pulse.” She suddenly put her hands on her hips again, she was at least going to see her beloved home again.

Angeal looked at her when she said she should be worried about him instead of him being worried about her. Why though? He was fine, with the omission of the hole in his side and the broken rib. He was just about to call her on it when she shot up and ran basically through the ruins towards a shining blue aura. Instinctively he followed her and came along to the bluish portal the same time she did or about a few seconds behind. ''Um, no. What is it?'', he asked her but before he had gotten it out she was telling him what it was. ''Of course! I knew what it was all along!'', he said sarcastically as he chuckled and walked towards the portal. She seemed to be shocked, but she had found a way home, what she had been looking for.
Angeal being one of little patience decided to grab her and he pulled her as he jumped through. The portal sucked them in and in a matter of seconds they were spat out in a large field in the middle of a large herd of large horned animals. What the hell was this? They were freaking huge, and they were at their mercy. Only one way to deal with this situation. Angeal pulled his blade out and prepared for them to reach where he was standing.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "Home sweet home. Welcome to Gran Pulse. ” She didn't even hear him speak, all her attention was focused on the portal, the gateway to a world far below this one. Her world, her home. She had no time to do anything but stare before Angeal was suddenly moving. She time to turn her head to see exactly what he was doing before he grabbed her and jumped into the portal. They could have been spit out anywhere, luckily they were at the Archylte Steppe range. She skidded across the grassy range and when she landed, she leapt to her feet, suddenly aware that a herd of Adamantortoises's were walking around them. She stopped and just watched them in awe, she had been afraid that she would never see Gran Pulse again. “Home sweet Home. Welcome to Gran Pulse.” She said with a smile.
He grabbed his sword and she laid a hand on his arm, meeting his eyes with her own green ones. They had terrible eyesight, and probably didn't know they were even here. Slow moving, extremely hard to kill, but you could run right under them and not have them know you were there. “They don't even know we're here.” She said in a normal voice, raising her head to look up at them. Their sheer weight and height were an awe. She had always loved to simply watch these creatures. Her and Vanille had killed a few of them, but it took a long time and they didn't go down easily, why waste you're energy on a beast that didn't even know you were there? “Comon, I'll show ya.” With a laugh Fang pivoted on her heel and started running strait for one of the Adamantortoises. Long legs reached for more ground as she came closer and closer.
This was Fang, wild, reckless and untamed. She ducked under its legs as it moved, it didn't even notice her, neither did the next one. Their eyesight was horrible, as was their sense of smell. “What are ya waitin for?!” She yelled out over her shoulder as she ran, simply glad to be back to Gran Pulse. She almost jumped for its back, but refrained herself. She could wait for that. Turning, she raised her head to the sky and soaked in the sunshine. It was free here, no cages, no fences, completely void of anything artificial, everything was alive, vibrant. It was perfect. This made her feel complete again, to forget about the focus, to just be free and live life like she always had, reckless and wild. Eyes were closed and she just smiled before looking down at her feet. The Adamantortoises had just continued on, walking without knowledge that they had even been there, the grass grew everywhere.
Suddenly a sound reached her ears. The low pitched scream of the tigers that thrived in the land came from behind her. Twirling around, Fang's lance was out in mere seconds as she watched the two tigers run toward them. “Now these kitties know were here.” She said with a smirk as she ran to meet it, full of fire. She hadn't felt this good since she had woken up from that damn crystal. “Come on then!”

Angeal was settled by her and looked at them as they still came towards them slowly. He looked back at her to see that she had ran off and was going under the hugs beasts. Hell no....Hell no! He was not going to do that so he looked at her and smirked before taking flight and going over them, he was understood that he could not be spotted by them, which increased the chances of him being trampled on. And he was not exactly an expert on these things or anything, but he was sure that these things could kill anything by stepping on it. Angeal landed on the other side of the heard and folded his arms and waited for Fang to come out on the other side.
Those things were easily 10 tons, and she was running under them for fun, what was wrong with her, she was weird indeed. ''Nah, I'm not into running under um.... what ever the hell those are, so please hurry up and don't get trampled on!'', he yelled to her hoping she had not already been stepped on. Angeal knew better though, she was of course alive and probably having the time of her life under those big behemoth beasts.
He sat there as the flying once again made the wound hurt, hopefully there was some place where he could get patched up and recover safely. ''Can you hurry up, this wound is starting to take the pep outta my step darling, I can't keep this up much longer you know'', he said rolling over on his side and wincing in pain before getting up while digging his blade into the ground to help him. Hopefully she wouldn't see him wincing as hard as he was, he could still get out of this by just taking off and getting his own help, but honestly how far would he get?

~HighWind Nightmare~ "I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her.” As the tigers got closer she could hear Angeal yelling at her. If these were the same as they had been before, they had a weakness. Piece of cake. The leapt at her and she sprang into the air, hit one in the throat before jumping completely over the second one. She turned around and stabbed the second right behind the shoulder where the heart lay. It screamed and struggled for a moment before collapsing. The first decided it had had enough and ran off. She smirked after it, “Yeah go run home.” With that she turned and jogged to where Angeal was getting off the ground. She appraised him with her eyes, he didn't look so good. “Come on then, if its the same around here I know a place relatively free of animals, not to far away either.” She nodded to the small crack in the wall of rock surrounding the Steppes. Right through there was the way back to where they went eventually to find Oerba.
She didn't help him up or comment, but she was now past her excitement of finally coming home again and into the survival mode. Some preparation was needed to survive here. Luckily this was all she had ever known, and she wasn't soft either. And another thing...Angeal wasn't some pussy footed boy, he could take care of himself, and for that she was thankful. Wouldn't have been easy taking care of someone who didn't know their way around fighting, especially when he was hurt. Scanning the surrounding area, she hoped they could avoid running into any more creatures, at least the ones that wanted to kill them.
She didn't know whether she should help him along or not, but decided against it for now. Though he was on his last reserves, he could still walk for awhile, and with their location now Fang would have to keep lookout for the animals. She hesitated a moment, unsure just how far his reserve could be tested. But at this point she hoped he could make it just a bit further. Turning, she walked a few steps toward the opening in the wall and stopped again, making sure he was going to follow. Hopefully so, she could always support him while they walked, but she wasn't altogether sure she could carry him if it came to that. She had forgotten about Bahamut as well, that would be easy, just to summon her Eidolon and fly there that way. She nodded to him, “Its not far away, are you doin ok?” He looked in pain, but then again, who wouldn't when you had just gotten shot and had been tested to the very edge of your limits? She wouldn't want to be him right then, and in Gran Pulse, it was a lot scarier being injured then it was in Cocoon.

He was glad to see that she did put a bit of speed and urgency on herself, because he was in some pain. He hated being a burden on her, this was her first time home and she couldn't do the things she loved on her home world because he had gone and gotten himself shot. ''I'm sorry for burdening you, You were right before. I should not have gone and gotten myself shot then you would not have to worry about me'', he said hanging his head as he walked, but he could not deal with this walking much longer. Perhaps it was that jump from Cocoon to this world that screwed him up, because he was fine on that planet. But he wouldn't make excuses, those were for people who were incompetent, or weak, and he was neither.
Angeal knelt and looked down at his armor before ripping it off, the bullet wound had turned a little blackened. He had hoped his sweat would keep it clean because of the salt in it. But he was wrong, and the truth was his armor being unclean probably caused an infection, which in this place was bad. He was out of his element, an herb could be used if he was on Gaia, but this world was foreign to him. Luckily Fang was with his and she seemed to know the place like the back of her hand. Still, he pulled out a small crystal that had come to him with being a l'cie, he had fallen behind Fang a considerable bit and could tell by the pain that he was not going to catch up. So some help was in order.
With that Angeal tossed up the crystal into the sky and watched as it turned the clouds into a hellish red shade, after all he was summoning something from hell. In a matter of seconds Cerberus sprang forth and crashed into the ground before Angeal causing dust to fly up. Cerberus instinctively came out to fight and was about to spring into the heard of huge monsters who's size rivaled his own. Then Angeal yelled to him, ''Hey! Focus Cerberus. I need some transportation here.'' Cerberus knelt down and sniffed Angeal a bit before Angeal patted him on his nose and did his best to climb on one of his heads.
''Come on! You have to lead the way Fang.'' With that Angeal willed Cerberus to move to where she was. He knelt down his left head for Fang to get up on. ''I can not walk anymore'', he said holding on to Cerberus for dear life.
Yes.... He's a beast I know.

~HighWind Nightmare~ "You wanna keep breathin? Shut up and come quiet.” Fang didn't say anything for a moment as he apologized. He shouldn't be apologizing to her, he was reminding her of her flared temper when she had blamed getting shot up on him. It hadn't been his fault, it was just what happened. “You're not a burden.” Was all she said with that, end of discussion. Yeah getting shot had probably not been the greatest idea, and it took energy from you, getting sucked through the portal, but none of that had been his fault. She was so preoccupied with keeping watch she hadn't noticed just how far behind he had fallen, not enough to be vulnerable though, because she was within helping distance.
Still, something caused her to look back at the exact time the sky seemed to be a swirling red mass. “What the hell?” She asked before running toward Angeal again. This wasn't any beast she had ever seen before on Gran Pulse, although it could be a new species. Its three heads looked almost grotesque, and as it roared and seemed hell bent on killing one of the adamantortoises. The look of surprise on her face was quickly masked, but she still thought that she was going to have to kill it, which would have been an interesting battle. She would succeed, to her it wasn't a choice, she had a mission and she could accomplish it, but she wouldn't have come off wound free.
The fact that Angeal seemed to tame this beast brought her back to reality. This was his Eidolon? She appraised the thing...she personally liked her own Eidolon Bahamut, but this one looked like it meant business, could blend right in with Pulse creatures. He held down his head and she looked from Angeal to the Eidolon again. Shrugging, she jumped up onto the head that was lifted up. “This is your Eidolon? I thought I'd have to kill it there for a second.” She knelt down and grabbed ahold of the pointed armor like things that were on its head and glanced at Angeal as he told her to lead the way. Uh...exactly how was she supposed to get this brute to move with her anyway? Taking a chance, she pointed with her spear in the direction of the wall. “Start walkin' ya big brute.” Trying to get comfortable while she was sitting on its head was a bit awkward, but she straddled the neck with her legs like she was riding a horse and turned to look at Angeal. “Whats this thing called anyway?”
As it started walking she tightened the pressure of her legs and clung to the beast that way, keeping her hands free to hold onto her spear. She didn't think anything would challenge them, but with the animals around here, you never knew. They soon got to where they were going to walk through a tight canyon that wound its way through the rock until they reached what she and Vanille had always called base camp, at least when they were traveling to the Steppes. Oerba was their home, but they went to the Steppes often, especially after they had become l'cie. "Its gonna be a bit cramped in here for beasty here." Words: 665 Muse: good Notes: lol yeah it is
