Geoff figured it was about time he left. So once Ebony was down and out, he took Josh's advice and hit the trail, teleporting away so he could get aid to his shoulder and rest from the brutal attack Ebony had set towards him. He did owe them though. It was a debt that had to be paid sometime...someway. But hopefully, Geoff wouldn't have to repay that for a long time now.
So he left, as he was warned to, and as he left...he felt a slightly bit sorry, not enough to apologize, but enough to give him something to think about. "Damn Hero..." He grumbled as his conscience started to get the best of him.

Ebony's body was tense from the hip wound she had received. The pain from the bullet was starting to reverberate throughout her entire body, and her leg wound didn't help with matter. She wasn't going to be waking up anytime soon, unless Josh was able to heal her with the small bit of healing magic he probably knew. Though, if she was awake, she would be biting him out about healing his wound first. He was a prince, and she was merely an orphan. Besides, she believed all of this was her fault.
Suddenly, the pain dissipated, and Ebony's body relaxed, though she did not awake. Her body would need the rest, regaining both the energy and the blood she had lost. She slightly felt herself being lifted, but with the way her mind was at the moment, she just silently brushed it off, and continued to sleep.
Her eyes finally fluttered open when she felt herself being placed down on to a featherbed, hers most likely. She sat up slowly, a hand flying to her hip unconsiously. Though the clothing was saturated with blood, there was no pain to speak of.
"It's...gone."

Josh had laid Ebony in her bed, Emilia had given him an extra key just to get in there without any hassles. After he laid her down he pulled her desk chair over to the bed and sat it in as she woke up. He was examining his arm wound which had started to go numb right about now and it was blotched with black and purple bruises around the bullet hole. When Ebony spoke Josh's eyes flickered to her and smiled. So she noticed the wound of her own was gone. "I may not be good at magic...But that is one thing I can do." He said with a proud nod.
Josh was glad Ebony was okay, and sooner or later he would be too. He'd much rather let his heal on its own, he wasn't used to magic as much as Ebony was, so he went the natural way for healing. Time. "So..." He said flexing his injured arm with a wince and a chuckle. "I got a battle wound...makes me pretty tough eh?" Enough jokes aside. Josh smiled. "I'm glad you're okay...I think you scared the little girl within out of Geoff....and...I'm sorry you got hurt in the first place." He said looking off to the side. His green eyes showing a sign of sadness, but he tried to hide that, he pretty much blamed himself for Ebony's mishap against Geoff...it was only natural for the guy to feel bad when his girl got hurt, when he was around.

Ebony took her hand off her hip wound, and quickly checked her leg. The graze wound from the bullet was healed as well. The only indication that there was a wound there before was a thin line of skin that was lighter than the rest of her skin tone. Oh joy. Another scar. Ebony had plenty of them from her other encounters with the baddies. They were pretty widespread on her body, though most of them couldn't be seen with how she dressed.
"You did pretty good. For someone who can barely do Blizzard."
"So...I got a battle wound...makes me pretty tough, huh?"
Ebony let go of her leg, and looked over at Josh who was moving his injured arm. She winced herself as she remembered the rage that had quickly biult up inside her when he had first received it from Geoff. She reached behind her, and took the cloth that hung from her belt. She swung her legs over the bed, and proceeded to tie it around his arm and neck, like a sling.
"Don't move it around too much. You'll just aggravate the bones that were hit. Let it rest so that the bones can heal, and then you can move it around so that your arm doesn't get stiff."
"I'm glad you're okay...I think you scared the little girl within Geoff...and...I'm sorry you got hurt in the first place."
Ebony looked down herself before reaching up and putting a hand on Josh's cheek, making him look at her. A ghost of a smile was on her lips.
"It's alright. Believe me when I say I've been through much. But you shouldn't be sorry. It was all my fault anyway. If I had been more attentive, set up a barrier, cast a Search spell or something, then...all of this wouldn't have happened."

Josh was pretty proud of his medical magic he was able to cast. In fact, it was the best healing he had done to date. Anytime he tried to heal even the simplest of paper cuts, on himself I might add, it never worked real well. But on other people he seemed to heal them just fine. Maybe it was just him? Probably. "Well. I'm getting better with magic, and after today, I think I'll do even better." He grinned before a thought popped into his head and his smile faded down. "You are still going to teach me magic right? I mean aside from the crappy stuff I can do now." Josh shrugged with that last comment, he still really wanted to learn these elements, and get good enough to even use the power of Firaga or something like that.
When Ebony got up and wrapped up Josh's arm like a sling he sighed as his elbow was completely numb right now, or it hurt so much it only felt numb. He was surprised he carried Ebony all this way with such an injury...but that was his soldier side for you, putting another person's needs in front of your own. “Eh. Thanks, but I think I’ll be fine really. I’ve taken some…worse hits before.” He said keeping his arm still as she said, he would take off the sling and move it around later, wrap it up himself and aid to it, but he would save that for when Ebony wasn’t around to see him wince and stuff over a simple bullet wound.
How could she blame herself? Wasn’t it Josh the one who was mortal enemies with this guy? Technically it was his fault for Geoff’s attack. “Don’t blame yourself.” He looked at Ebony as she made him look at her. “If Geoff wasn’t around…this wouldn’t have happened…don’t try to talk me out of it, just let me have my guilty moment and move on with life.” He said grinning slightly at the end before standing up from the chair and kissing Ebony’s forehead. “I better go patch myself up before my arm gets infected and they have to cut it off…what kind of soldier would I be then?” Of course it was a joke, but it was an excuse to get away for awhile and rest, Josh was still utterly exhausted from the days training and minor battle and wounds. It was all…so tiring.

"You are still going to teach me magic, right? I mean, aside from the crappy stuff I can do now."
Ebony grinned and nodded.
"Yeah, I will. Who knows who you might go up against next, or when you might really need it."
"Don't blame yourself. If Geoff wasn't around...this wouldn't have happened...don't try and talk me out of it, just let me have my guilty moment and move on with life."
Ebony sighed then, realizing that it was pointless to argue with the soldier. They both thought they were at fault, so they might as well just both let it go, and just live on.
"I better go patch myself up before my arm gets infected and they have to cut it off...what kind of soldier would I be then?"
She didn't really know how to respond. So, Ebony just sat there silenty, while Josh stood and kissed her lightly on the forehead. She closed her eyes for a second, before standing up and embracing Josh, throwing her arms around his neck.
"I'm glad you're alright," she muttered quietly into his ear, before pulling back and pushing him lightly to the door. "Now go rest, before your eally does get infected."

Josh was starting to take things a little more seriously since being with Ebony, it taught him that you could never be too careful, and you always had to watch your back, you never knew who was looking. “You’re right…one day, I may need to light someone on fire…who knows?” Of course with all this seriousness there had to be a joke or two…or twenty every now and then. Josh was responsible though, not all jokes and random nonsense, but he didn’t have a lot of time to be free, happy, and do whatever he wanted, that was the life of the soldier, seriousness and strategy were his main keys to life.
As Josh was about to head to the door Ebony had embraced him, and he embraced her back. Closing his eyes a bit as she spoke to him, glad that he was okay ”Im glad you’re okay too Ebony.” He whispered back to her as he hugged her not too tight, but not too loose either. Ebony, was probably by far the best thing that had happened to him, sure it made him a little softer, happier, and more fun loving, but that was what love was all about. Love, that word meant so little when used out of context, unless the person saying it truly meant it…if then, Love was everything. Josh released his grip around Ebony and looked into her eyes, a small smile on his face as he smirked a light chuckle as she pushed him towards the door. Josh’s injury was serious and he would certainly have to tend to it, but before he left, he wanted to say something that he had been longing to say for awhile now.
He didn’t know what took over him, but Josh’s arm wrapped around Ebony and he pulled her in for a kiss, and not the simple peck of a kiss, a real one. When he pulled away he had a serious, yet happy expression on his face as he was only a few inches away from her face. “I love you…” He grinned even wider as the words spilled out of his mouth, like water. And on that lovely note…Josh took his leave, for his own room, to tend to the battle wound he obtained earlier that day.

Ebony wasn't in much as a shock as she was when Josh first kissed her, though she was surprised at first. This time she was able to calm down enough so that she could actually respond in some way. She placed her hands on his shoulders, and closed her eyes, kissing him back slightly. She felt as if she was standing on clouds, floating almost, and her heart was fluttering away in her chest.
When Josh pulled back, she opened her eyes, and just stared back at him. And then he said those three words. Three simple words that could mean so much less when used in a different context and way. But, put together they made one of the most powerful sentences in every single language. And those three words, Ebony had never heard put together and meant only for her. Sure, she had heard those words from the other orphans she lived with when she was young, but they were most likely joking and playing around. Here, their true meaning was sent out, and Ebony was the one finally on the receiving end of them.
She was speechless as Josh stared at her for a few more seconds, and she could feel her knees start to give out. But, she held her ground. She certainly was about to ruin the moment that she only saw in her dreams late at night. Josh took that one last glance at her, before leaving the room altogether, and she could hear his footsteps out in the hall going towards his own room. That's when she fell to her knees , and just sat there, a couple tears springing up to her eyes and falling gracefully down her cheeks, as she smiled and just looked at the door where that one man had just stood, moments ago.
"...I love you too."
