Cloud was asleep for a long time. Aerith wanted to make sure he had enough rest so she also blocked out all his bad dreams. She knew he had night mares....So she took real good care of him...And it was about time for him to wake up. He's been through so much this morning already. It was night time by the time he woke up....
"It was you...." He said as his eyes were still closed. His mind was still set on that question that Tifa asked him...He was having his head towards Tifa as he said that. But the thing is he was still asleep...So Aerith and Tifa would probably still thinking that he was talking in his sleep....But it would be evening now that he was waking up...He groaned slightly as he moved around a bit and then opened his eyes....He saw two faces he knew all too well....First was Aerith.....Then it was Tifa which he kept his eyes on....."You could never be a replacement...."

No word was uttered or even a sound in the room after the conversation between Tifa and Aerith. Both of them remained there in the room for hours unaware of the time that passed them. Both remained silent as they tended to Cloud before Tifa left for a few minutes. It was though only to close the bar and leave a note up that she won't be opening the next day.
After the fight with that remnant a lot of things were destroyed. It was even worse than what happened with the Bohamut incident. Sure back then she had lots of work but nothing was damaged beyond repair. She even had a few injuries herself but refused to let Aerith help heal them. "You have done enough...... don't worry about these they are just miner I have been through worse remember." Was her reply every time Aerith offered to heal her.
Tifa appreciated the though but there was really no need Tifa could get by with those buses, and they would heal soon that she was sure off. So there really was no reason to let Aerith 'After all she must be exhausted now after what she did to help' she though as she walked back to Cloud's room. Tifa glanced over at him still sleeping soundly in his bed before sitting back down in her place waiting for him to wake up.
It didn't take long after that he started mumbling incoherently, but Tifa thought she heard the words 'It was you...' She gasped turning to face him as he shifted in his bed, grunted before finally getting up. For a minute he glanced at Aerith and she remained silent until their eyes met. Then the answer came unexpectedly, the one she has been waiting for. Tifa gasped slightly as her eyes widened in disbelieve when she heard him utter those words.

His eyes were very heavy at this moment, but he did not care at all how he was feeling. Aerith had left the room so the two of them could be a lone for a while and just talk things over and maybe Cloud could make Tifa understand what has happened....He looked up to her and lifted his arm to her cheek the brand on his upper wrist was on the hand he lifted up to her.....
"I'm sorry, I ran out on you...." He could not stop looking at her. She would see that his apology was the real thing....Then the words of what that thing that monster...That Fal'Cie told him.....Hit him....He then removed his hand from her face then as he looked at he brand..."I'm sorry...."

Cloud's hand brushed up before resting on her cheek, and Tifa could feel her blush burn bright read under his skin. Her eyes gazed into his and soon were lost in his mako blue. It was as if she was lost in his trance for a few minutes even though she said she would let go of her feelings for him, he still could wake then up easily with just one touch. Tifa didn't even notice that Aerith left the room and that they were alone now.
His words woke her up and Tifa instantly shook her head before blinking a few times to adjust to what just happened. "Its alright..... don't worry about it....." She managed to say without really thinking once she got a gimps of his brand now that it was visible. She saw him pull her hand away and glanced down to hide the blush still on her cheeks. "We can talk about this later..... you should get some rest...." Tifa added with a smile

"No...We talk now....I may never ever get this chance again....I wanted to tell you this for so long....I love you since we were kids....I used to think that...no matter what...We would never get a chance like this...That I....I was doing the wrong thing by leaving you back home and me going to Soldier....I was such an idiot....My heart always belonged to you....I was too scared to tell you...Scared you may not feel the same.....I love you..." He then sat up in the bed....He was recovering quickly....As he looked into her eyes as she looked into his....Her eyes were so always welcoming....and warm...He could stare at her for hours....That was when he saw her blushing.....And placed his hand back up to her cheek again....Now that she saw his brand there was no hiding any thing from her again.....He was feeling alot better too now that he has said what he wanted to say for years! But never got the courage to tell her.....

Tifa got up to leave and let Cloud rest when his words and serious tone reached her ears to stop her. She stood there for a few seconds before walking back to sit in her place. His hand soon rested on her cheeks again, and she felt her skin burn but tried to suppress her blush and emotions that over flowed her.
That worked foe a few minutes but the moment he started talking Tifa lost control. She turned focusing her gaze at the ground trying to reclaim it while her back was to Cloud. As he went on explaining tears formed in her eyes, but she fought so hard to contain them. 'He loves me....' she thought still in disbelieve, but Tifa no longer had doubts in her mind after all Cloud just answered her question a moment ago before confessing once again of his love for her, but then his words caught her by surprise.
"How can you not know....?" She asked still looking down. "How can you not know how I felt about you....?" She repeated and added to her question. "I have always loved you ever since we were kids... but my fear losing your friendship frightened and held me back from expressing how I truly felt. but that didn't stop me from trying to hint it to you...... why else do you thing I have asked you to be my hero?" Tifa sighed before continuing.
"When you didn't show any interest at first I thought you didn't notice so I tried harder by caring and being there for you........ but then you met Aerith.........." She sopped not wanting to continue but she lost control on her voice and the pain showed in her tone. "In the end I thought that you notice my feeling but wanted to be nothing more than friends..... so I settled for that and gave up hope of having more........."

Cloud noticed how bad her emotions were acting right now. She was like him...Trying to not show any emotions period...Her pain was his pain...It was almost like he was enter twined with her feelings...That's how close they are.....The mention of Aerith for her was hard enough. Cloud looked down but looked back up at her then....And smiled at her.....
"All true....But weren't you the one that always told me to forget about the past and make a future for our little family....? I don't know exactly how to put this....You know I'm not good at showing I love you....I wanna start right now....By asking you this...."
Cloud swallowed hard! He was scared now as he took both her hands in his and looked into her eyes....He was so ready to ask her this so badly....A few hours ago he could've died....And now he knew what he wanted to ask....
"Tifa....Will you marry me?" He waited for her answer now. And this moment and when she answered was driving him crazy....A lot of thoughts were racing through his mind right now...Like all the times they spent secretly together.....He was nervous but he tried to hide it....

Tifa nodded to the question that came, was Cloud giving her a lecture now? She let out a laugh at the though remembering her own words to him. "Dilly dally shilly shally right?" She asked with a chuckle tilting her head slightly to the right as she glanced back at Cloud.
She let a small but a clear smile spread across her lips. 'A memory or us.......?' Tifa once asked Cloud that trying to help him move on with his life. Now she was asking herself the same one. Unconsciously she held on to the past. The pain why couldn't she let it fade.
It was time to forget and move on with life she thought, Cloud was right. "I know.... I remember telling you to stop running.... and move one every change I got but you never listened to me.... it wasn't till my fight with Loz did you start to change...."
Memories of that day rushed into her mind as Tifa soon recalled the details but soon shook her head to forget the thought. Her gaze returned to Cloud as she continued to listen to his words but they only confused her what did he have in mind?
"Cloud? What are you saying?" Soon an answer or a question came making Tifa gasp in surprise. Her lips parted as she tried to utter 'yes' to his question but again her voice failed her. He knelled taking her hand and tears filled her eyes.
The question hung in the air for several minutes unanswered. How long has it been since the two of them shared their feelings? it seemed like hours ago but was that really the case? "Cloud....." Her call came out more like a whisper as she searched for words. "Are you sure?" Tifa asked as her eyes glance gown at his figure. She never could stop smiling as her eyes gazed deep into his mako blue ones

"I know.... I remember telling you to stop running.... and move one every change I got but you never listened to me.... it wasn't till my fight with Loz did you start to change...." Cloud remembered...She was right. That was the first time he actually showed her emotion in years!
"I remember...." He said softly to her still holding her hands in his....
"Cloud....." "Are you sure?" He looked up and looked right into her eyes as she did for him and smiled again...."I'm sure....Why did you ask if I was? I wouldn't ask you if I wasn't so sure of any thing in my whole life. You know that...." Cloud was still in the dark as to what has happened to him....Only Tifa and Aerith knew what had happened....."Tifa what is it?" He finally stood up so he was eye level with her....

Tifa smiled as she continued to gaze into his eyes. "I know.... and I would love to marry you more than anything...." She stopped to look away and break their eye connection. "Cloud......" She sighed soon remembering Aerith's words about Cloud.... in a way they were enemies now.... his focus was to kill them all right?...... to destroy Gaia.
"Cloud.... what do you remember.... of what happened?" Her eyes still didn't glance back to him and soon tears found their way to trickle down her cheeks.
Tifa waited in silence before sitting back down on the bed while still holding Cloud's hand in hers but couldn't look up to gaze into his. "Do you remember anything.... any of the events that happened.... where you got that mark....?" She asked rubbing a thumb over his brand

"Cloud......" "Cloud.... what do you remember.... of what happened?" "Do you remember anything.... any of the events that happened.... where you got that mark....?" He felt her rub the mark on his wrist...He looked down at it....He didn't remember any thing....He looked at his brand and lost all memory of ever getting it....."I...I don't remember a thing....Why did you say you would love to....There's a reason why you said that....What have I done now....? Tifa....Tell me what this mark is....What happened to me....? You look as though you're scared of me...."
Cloud was confused now. He had no idea why she was acting like this and not saying she would marry him....Instead, she said she would like to....But, there was a reason why she did not say yes....

Tifa's instantly glanced back up to Cloud when his question came. "No Cloud that's not...." She sighed realizing he misunderstood her words. "Cloud.... I said I would love to because I want you to know everything before I say yes...." She felt her cheeks flush bright read and soon diverted her eyes from him.
" You turned to a l'Cie...... I don't understand much either but.... from what I know.... every l'Cie has a focus and a time to complete it.... if they succeed they turn to crystal and if they fail.... they turn to cieth.... a monster...." Tifa stopped herself before revealing saying more knowing it would only cause more tears to fall.
Tifa managed to calm herself slowly by taking deep breaths before closing her eyes. "Cloud.... I don't care about all of this..... I loved you and still do.... if... you still want to marry me then my answer is yes......"Tifa didn't open her eyes to look at Cloud though after those words came out. She was afraid of seeing his reaction of him shutting her out again.

A monster....A crystal...What difference did it make...? "Cloud.... I don't care about all of this..... I loved you and still do.... if... you still want to marry me then my answer is yes......" At that moment he did some thing for the very first time....He leaned up and gave her a kiss on her lips....And soon he wrapped his arms around her waist as he was letting her enter his mouth.....Tears fell from his now closed eyes....She would still love him no matter what.....
Without question she was with the one he was destined to belong to. Tifa after all these years! He was relieved, sad and happy all at the same time. For different emotion there's a different reason though. He couldn't stop himself from kissing her like he did. He had to really express his love for her now. He was on the verge of loosing her a few years ago.....And now, that would all be in the past. They would be together no matter what happens to them.....

Tifa's eyes shot open as she gaped in surprise once the kiss came. for a moment she stared blankly at him still lost in her own thoughts unable to respond. 'Is this really happening......?' she thought thinking she slipped unconsciously into her dream. It wasn't until the feel of his hands on her waist pulling her closer did Tifa snap out of her thoughts. Finally to respond with kissing Cloud back.
For how long they stood there Tifa wasn't sure, but both were reluctant to pull away and continued their kiss fulled by all the emotions they felt thus far. Tifa gave in to his touch and another tear steamed down her cheek. Her lips soon parted before pulling away to catch her breath.
Her eyes gazed into his searching his mako blue ones as a weak smile formed in her lips. Tifa was aware that she was still in his embrace which caused her to tremble slightly from his touch. "Cloud......?" she whispered tilting her head as she looked at him.

"Cloud......?" Cloud looked at Tifa…He just couldn’t believe what he just did….He looked deep into her eyes with such a soft expression on his face…”Yes…Tifa…What is it?” He asked her as he grabbed her closer to him…His heart was pounding harder and harder in his chest…Scared now that she would back out on what she just said. She couldn’t say that could she? He hoped not. He wanted to be with her no matter what happens to them now. He brushes his knuckles against her cheek. As he just waited as paintely as he possibly can. He was still unaware of what his focus was, She has yet to tell him the truth. But the thing was, would she tell him? Cloud too tried to keep a positive attitude on him. Maybe she was gonna tell him he was a good kisser. Yeah right! But it was a thought. A thought…But many more were racing through his mind right now.
Like how scared he was. This was gonna change everything. He would have to really own up to her about his problems now. Because weren’t they together now? He did not care about that right now. All he cared about was that she was in love with him and wanted to marry him. He should be happy right? He had every right to be happy right now. The girl of his dreams just said yes to his proposal…..
