The man had grown bored of his afternoon of traveling and wanted some action or at least a place to stay. The land of Ivalice was way to different to him compared to his old home and he just wanted to get his general location down pat. Traveling out in unknown lands tended to screw one of from time to time and SaS wasn't a fan of being dead, not yet at least. Over the horizon he could see a small town that would probably have an inn or at least a bar. If not he could always sleep out in the wilderness like he usually did so it wasn't a huge problem. Once he got into the town he could tell some eyes were on him. A guy looking like him would get looks and considering his aura it probably freaked out most folks. Oh well.
Seeing the building for an inn SaS slowly walked up the steps and inside the building opening the old wooden door and closing it behind him after stepping inside. He glanced at the desk in front of him before stepping forward. When the man asked 'how could he help him' SaS simply spoke two words. "Room please."

The girl’s eyes fluttered open, and then squeezed shut again. The light was very bright, and it was penetrating her eyes. She didn’t want to get up. She had just gotten to sleep about two hours ago. She frowned. She turned her head, rubbing her eyes, and then her ears. Yes, she had ears, and a tail. She was known as a neko, a human with ears and a tail. She always got strange looks from the towns people, but she couldn’t help that she was born this way. She had gotten used to the stares and awkward looks, and had learned to ignore them. She just wished that people would learn to ignore her as well, instead of making fun of her.
She squinted at the clock, the sun glaring on it. She moved it so that she could see. 8:00. 8:00?! She hopped out of bed. She was going to be late for work! She rushed around, hopping in the shower and then hopping back out, rushing to find her uniform, and to make herself look pretty. She really didn’t stop to grab her ID for work, she just grabbed her keys and purse, a banana for breakfast, and ran out to her car. She got in the car and backed out of the driveway. After she had shut the garage door, she sped down the road, worrying about being late. She hoped her boss didn’t yell at her. She hated getting yelled at. She had had enough of it in her past. She didn’t need it in the present either.
As she neared the inn, she had a green light, and started to go through it. Another man going the opposite way was yelling on the phone, and suddenly put on the gas. The man didn’t realize what was happening, and he slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. The man collided with her head first. It all happened so fast that she didn’t know what hit her. She went flying from her car and landed about five feet from it, not moving. She was unconscious. A witness gasped and called 911, and another went and told the inn keeper. “Sir! You’re employee was just involved in a car accident!” The inn keeper’s eyes went wide. “Dear God!” He rushed out the door, leaving the man standing there.

SaS had watched the man get his room key before another man ran in looking completely panicked. SaS tilted his head at the new arrival wondering what the hell his problem was. Something happened outside...I guess. He thought as the man spoke. Once the witness explained what happened SaS grumbled something silently to himself. This would take time off his nap since this person was an employer here which would keep the inn keeper busy. So on one hand he could help this person and get his room or he could just go. He stood their in a daze as he considered his options and decided to just help. It could be his good deed for the day and it would give him some good karma.
He stepped outside and saw the wreck in front of him. Crowds began to gather and SaS wasn't that surprised by the natural human reaction. He stepped down into the road and began to push past people. Once he reached the center he saw the girl laying on the ground. She looked pretty beat up even for someone who was just flung up from their car or maybe SaS was over thinking it. He stepped past the crowd with many people giving him odd looks as if wondering 'Who is he?' and 'why was he walking up to the scene of an accident?' Ignoring the stares he stepped up to the girl and the first thing he noticed was her ears and tail. Yep. Ears and tail. To be honest it wasn't that odd to him but he would be lying if he said such a sight was common. Well now wasn't the time for worrying about such a trivial thing. He knelt down in front of the girl and gently brushed his hand against her cheek. Her aura was alright so she wouldn't die just yet. Lifting up his hand he placed it over her body.
"Holy Maiden. Hear my call: Curaga." He spoke in a calm tone before I white light flashed. An image of a woman in all white clothes was floating above him before a light engulfed the girl. If the spell was succesful her injuries would be lessened to a level where she would be able to get up and get proper medical attention. Once the light finished healing it would disappear as would the maiden. The crowd stepped back a bit looking at the power of this random man with suspicious eyes. SaS guessed not many people could just walk up and attempt to heal a girl with super powers around here. SaS sighed and checked to see if the girl would be able to move as he continued to stare at her ears for a bit. Cute.... Was his one thought.

The girl was unconscious for a while. She had no idea what was happening, until she finally came to. Apparently something had healed her, because she only felt a little bit of pain. She then saw the man, and frowned. Who was this man, and why was he kneeling over her? She then put two and two together. He had healed her! Well, sort of. She still had minor injuries, but at least she wasn’t unconscious and could move around without being in pain all the time. She rubbed her ears, grimacing as she felt the pain and some blood. She flicked her ear, grimacing a second time. She really needed to stop flicking her ear.
She sat up, grimacing again. She looked down at her stomach and legs, noticing all of the cuts and bruises. She looked at the wreckage, and her eyes went wide. Her car was completely totaled, and the man who had run into her was being tended to by paramedics. She looked back at the man and smiled a little. She was glad that the man had been there. She then hugged him, not trusting herself to speak. She was afraid that blood would come out or she would throw up or something gross would happen. That would be embarrassing. She decided to speak, taking a deep breath. “Thank you…”
She was then tended to by paramedics, and they asked her to stand. She did so, and was a little wobbly. Surprisingly, she clung to the man who had healed her, and didn’t let go. For some reason she felt…safe with the man, although she had no idea why. She couldn’t quite figure out why she was felt so safe with him, and she knew that it was going to bug her if she didn’t find out. The paramedics urged her gently to go into the back of the ambulance, but she kept shaking her head, clinging to the man. They then asked the man politely if he would like to ride with her to the hospital, and if he knew her. She only hoped that he would say yes. She really didn’t want to be alone right now. She was scared of hospitals.

SaS continued to watch the process with an apathetic look on his face and when the spell was done. He believed she would be fine for now but decided to wait and make sure, since he already started the job. Once he noticed her ears twitching he felt the job was done. He blinked when she began to rub her ears and start to realize where she was. Well it was all good now right? He could go back to what he was doing right? Nope. It wasn't to bad though since she could have been dead so he would stick around for a bit. As she sat up he began to glance up and down at her one last time to make sure nothing was horribly wrong with her. When she began to glance at the wreck SaS began to wonder how this happened to begin with. Like what idiot gets into an accident at this day and age? Considering the girl was hurt this badly it was more than likely the other drivers fault and SaS felt a small hint of empathy now, because to be honest it probably sucked to be flung out of your car this early in the morning.
SaS began to raise an eyebrow when the girl hugged him. He didn't have a problem with it but he didn't expect such a reaction just because he saved her life. When she spoke he realized the cute girl had a cute voice to match but he thought it was best to keep such thoughts to himself. Not showing a smile or a frown SaS spoke softly in response with a ," No problem." Soon enough the paramedics made there way to her and began to check her out. As the girl stood SaS began to stand up as well and he was about to leave until she clung to his arm. This was new to say the least, but he didn't complain just yet since she just seemed to be weak still from the accident. But when the paramedics asked her to get on and she shook her head SaS knew he was in for a loooooong day. He nodded when the paramedics asked him to tag along as he began to lead this girl to the ambulance.

The girl didn’t let go of the man, and she couldn’t stop shaking. She was cold, and terrified, and she didn’t want to be alone, which was why she wouldn’t let go of the man’s arm. She looked up at him, her ears halfway up. She was in a cautious mood, as her ears described, and yet she was still scared, which was why they weren’t completely all the way up. The paramedics led her and the man to the back of the ambulance, and with the help of the paramedics, got into the back along with one of the paramedics. The doors closed, and they started to move with the sirens blaring. Her ears went back all the way, as she hated the sound of the sirens wailing. It hurt like hell.
The paramedic wrapped some aluminum foil around her, and she made a disgusted face. It hurt, so she ripped it off. The paramedic frowned, and got out a thermal blanket instead. This she took to and wrapped it tightly around herself, leaning her head on the man and closing her eyes. The paramedic shook his head. “Miss I need you to stay awake so that I know you’re alright. Sir, do you know this girl?” The paramedic looked at the man, waiting for an answer. The girl moaned softly in protest. She was tired, and she wanted to sleep, but the stupid paramedic wouldn’t let her. She glared at him, but then sighed, and leaned her head on the man again, keeping her eyes open.
When they got to the hospital, the paramedic got out first, and then helped the girl out. She waited for the man to get out, even though the paramedic was urging to get her into the hospital to take care of her. She never wanted to have this happen to the man, and she felt bad for dragging him along. She then turned to him, and when she spoke, her voice was a little shaky. She got up the courage to speak again, and she swallowed her fear, even though her voice was still shaky. “I-I’m sorry about all of this…I just…felt safe with you…” She looked at the ground. She really didn’t know what else to say to the man to make it all better. She just hoped that he understood what she was going through.

SaS was silent the entire ride not making much movement or sound as the ambulance made its way to the hospital. He was unsure why he let himself get in this situation and why he even bothered to continue going along with it. HE could have easily kicked the door open and jumped out the ambulance and walked back for the in.. Yet he did not, and he just sat there. This girl had to have some powerful vibe to keep him in place and calm for this long or he was just being really generous. Then again he was kinda dragged into this without any say at all so maybe he just had some bad luck. Regardless of what he thought he was stuck in this situation now and he had to deal. Glancing down at the girl he was curious about her ears as he watched them twitched from the loud sirens. It wasn't everyday you saw cat ears and it was interesting for him to see. He had lifted his hand as if wanting to touch them but stopped when the ambulance stopped.
Stepping out SaS tilted his head at the question of paramedics. Of course he didn't know her, he just met her today! But of course they didn't see that at the scene and SaS guessed only the witnesses saw him heal her so he shrugged it off and remained silent. SaS followed the girl out of the ambulance and wondered how much longer this would take. His face never showed this though as he calmly stared at the young lady before him who began to apologize. Geez, now he felt like the bad guy as he lifted his hand and brushed aside his hair. " It's fine. Don't worry about it." He responded softly as he stared at her while she looked at the ground. He hoped that would be sufficient as he grabbed her hand slowly and lead her inside the hospital.

She felt bad for dragging him into this, and she didn’t want him to go through anything else, but he seemed fine with it all and willing to go with her into the hospital. It seemed as if in the ambulance he had wanted to touch her ears, but they had stopped too soon before he could. She smiled weakly at him, and then went closer, bending her head a little bit. “You can touch them, if you want. I don’t mind.” Normally she wouldn’t let anyone touch her ears, but she felt…different with this man. She felt like she could trust him, which was definitely odd for her. She didn’t know what else to say, just stood there.
She was then led into the hospital by the man, and she kind of liked it. The paramedics followed the two, just to make sure that she was alright. She squeezed the man’s hand, giggling quietly, but then coughing. She suddenly moaned, clutching her stomach and coughing up blood. Something was definitely not right, and the man’s healing job was not completely thorough. She yanked on his arm, collapsing to her knees, coughing blood everywhere. The medics rushed up to her, asking all kinds of questions, and getting no answers. She couldn’t answer due to the fact that she was coughing.

He was surprised when he was given permission to touch her ears considering they just met and all. Not wanting to question it he would probably do it later...or not. This girl made him rather unsure of himself because normally he wouldn't be THIS helpful. He would have healed a stranger then moved along, but for her he was at a friggin hospital. Once they got inside SaS noticed the paramedics were following them as he let out a sigh. He had no clue why she didn't trust them since it was their job to patch her up. She must not trust many people. He thought as he stopped moving as he went to her knees.
He raised an eyebrow as she began to cough and when he saw the blood he let out a sigh. " Don't die on me please..." He said calmly but with no emotion in his voice. Leaning down he lifted her up and held her up like a princess of sorts as he made his way to an empty hospital room. Once he made it there he laid her down on the bed before removing his jacket and cracking his knuckles. " I'm just gonna heal you myself." He explained calmly.

Ari frowned, not able to control her coughing. She hated doing this to the man, and now that her condition was even worse, she somehow felt even worse for dragging the man into this. She continued to cough up blood, and the paramedics were about to pick her up when she was suddenly picked up princess style by the man. She clung to him, coughing away from him so as not to stain his jacket or any of his other clothes. She would feel even worse than she already did if she did something like that. She would offer to pay for them if she did stain them, but she wasn’t sure how she would. She wasn’t even sure how she was going to pay for the medical bill. Guess she had to resort to her insurance again.
She was laid on the bed, and she watched the man take off his jacket, still coughing up blood. The paramedics were about to come in when she raised a hand. The door locked itself, and a chair slid over underneath it, just to hold it in case the lock didn’t hold in the first place. She then turned to the man, and tried to speak, despite her coughing up blood. “Am…I going….to die…?” She got the words out in between coughs, and she looked at him. She was scared to death, but she closed her eyes, breathing as deeply as she could while coughing. Her ears were pressed against the bed. She could hear the banging of the paramedics on the door, but she ignored it. She looked at the man, waiting for his answer and what he was going to do next.

SaS sighed as he watched her lock the both of them in this room. Although it made the situation better for him it would only be temporary since once this would be done they would have a hospital full of paramedics trying to get to them. Turning to face her he could feel that she was getting very weak and he needed to do something quickly. With a calm stare he rubbed his head as he glanced at the girl before him. She was obviously terrified and most people who cough up blood many times in a few moments probably had the right to be. Walking up to her he began to place his weapons on the table so he could work and move with ease. His blade the chaos breaker, and his butterfly knife both remained motionless on the table as he stared back at the girl. She was freaking out and he wasn't the type to cheer up people so easily. This combined with the arguing and yelling from the paramedics outside didn't make it any better for him to concentrate. But soon the girl could see a white aura surround him as well as the image of a young woman that began to materialize up behind him as if she was a ghost appearing out of thin air. As he spoke the girl would hear the voice of SaS and an older girl,
" I'm going to heal you, don't worry.....you'll be fine. " " I'm going to heal you, don't worry....you'll be fine. "
Both voices spoke calmly but the maidens voice seemed very loving as SaS lifted his hand and placed it over her body.
" Remain still." " Remain still. "
Both voices ordered this with a calm tone as he began to cast a more powerful heal on the girl. His body began to shiver as he put in some of his own life force to use this more powerful heal that would rid her off all ailments and conditions.

Ari knew that the paramedics would be busting down the door any minute. She knew she had to make sure that he got the job done right. She just hoped that he didn’t kill her if he lost his focus. She gulped, a bit scared, but nodded at him. She made sure the door was locked again before she laid back and closed her eyes. She tried not to cough that much, but it was hard to when she really couldn’t control herself. She coughed again once more, leaning over the side to cough into a bin that had just happened to be there. She was lucky that it was there. She then nodded at him, telling him that she was ready for him to heal her, even though she was scared out of her mind.
When she closed her eyes, she heard two voices, one that was the man’s, and another that sounded like a woman’s. She frowned, a bit confused as to who’s voice that could be. She didn’t remember a woman coming into the room with them. Just her and the man. She opened her eyes and looked over to the man, and gasped at what she saw. She saw the man, but behind him was the ghost of what appeared to be an angel. She didn’t understand what it was, or why she was seeing it, but she didn’t question it. She didn’t want him to lose his focus. The maiden fascinated her, and when she was told to lie still, she nodded and did as she was told. She continued to watch the man and the maiden, not sure what to make of the two. Was she real? She really couldn’t tell.
She wondered what sort of magic this man had, but it must have been very powerful if it was healing her. As he began to heal her, her coughing ceased, and she felt much better. She wasn’t in that much pain anymore, and she could actually breathe now without hacking up blood. She looked over at the man and smiled at him. She wanted to say thank you, but again, she didn’t want to mess up his concentration, so she kept her mouth shut. She waited for him to finish. Then she decided she would give him a hug and thank him. It was the least she could do.

SaS had a fierce look in his eye as he kept the utmost concentration on the task at hand. He had assumed this was like any job so he could give it 110% effort in making sure the girl stayed alive. His good deed for the day would be enough for him to sleep peacefully that night at least. Closing his eye for a moment he began to feel the power flow perfectly as he felt more life leave him. He didn't wanna worry her but it wasn't exactly like he could heal people like a badass without paying something. Equivalent exchange was true even in magic, you had to give up energy to create energy....well that was the case for his magic at least.
He noticed visible changes in her health since she stopped coughing and looking like she was near death and SaS now knew that he was almost done. Lifting up a second hand he sent a blast of life energy that would finish the process before lowering his hands and kneeling down at the side of the bed. ....fuck that was more than I thought. He thought as he let out a small groan of pain. Not wanting to look weak and knowing he had to get out of there soon he stood back up as he stared at the kill. His one brown eye was staring into hers as the eyepatch blocked the vision of his left eye. He didn't have much to say except one word as the maiden slowly disappeared from her field of view.
" Done...." He said softly.
With that his job was done and now he needed to get them out of there. Walking over to his weapons he placed them back in their rightful spots under his jacket and at his side. The paramedics were gonna break in and they were gonna have questions and SaS didn't need that. He didn't exist in this human world and he had to remain under the radar. " I'm leaving...you staying or going?" He asked before lifting up his hand and a small flicker appeared. Soon a blast of emerald green flames shot out of his hand and blasted open the window of their hospital room. He asked his question and he needed an answer or he would just leave.

Ari continued to watch him. It seemed as if he were doing it a different way than she would have done it. She couldn’t really tell how he was doing it differently, but she sensed it. She frowned, curious to know how he was doing it, and why he was doing it. She never really asked him to heal her, but she never protested either. It felt great that she was being healed. She wondered what the man was going to do after he was done healing her and what she was going to do. She wasn’t sure if she should run from the paramedics or not. Was it a crime? She couldn’t really remember, and she figured she shouldn’t care either. It was the government’s business, not hers, so she shouldn’t really care. She just watched the man heal her, being silent.
She watched as he knelt on one knee, moaning softly in pain. She frowned, seeing that he was weak. “Here, let me help you.” She placed a hand on him and her hand glowed blue. She muttered something and then took her hand off of him after she was done. “I hope that helped.” She then watched him stand up as he spoke. She looked towards the door, and then gasped as emerald flames came into his hand and he blasted the window open. Now she was a little afraid, but she wasn’t sure how to tell the man, so she decided to keep quiet, just in case it would offend him. “Wow…you’re very strong…” She then heard his offer to her, and she looked back and forth from the window to the door, then back to the man.
She nodded and stood up, swaying a bit, still dizzy from the crash. She held up a hand to assure him that she was fine, even if he was about to come to her aid or not. She was too busy focusing her energy on trying not to pass out. She then steadied herself and smiled weakly at him. “I’d like to go with you…that is, if you don’t mind.” Her voice was weak and shaky. She was a bit afraid, and she really didn’t have much courage, but to her it was all just an act to see how the man would react. She played the part very well, almost a little too well.

Once the glass finally cleared he was ready to go and didn't have that much time to be messing around. He was rather thankful for the help but he was more than capable of taking care of himself. He of course wasn't going to say it since it was rude but he was fine. When she complimented his strength he simply blinked and made no major reaction. He kinda knew he was strong and thought it was an obvious statement. Then again he wasn't used to compliments so he just remained silent as she began to consider his offer.
She didn't have much time and he would have no problem leaving. Once she began to stand he lifted up his hand. As she swayed he let out a sigh but stopped when she felt up her hand. She still needed some rest to recover even after the heal it seemed. Well luckily from what he had heard earlier she was an inn employee anyway so she could get rest there or at home. When she finally answered and then added the 'if you don't mind' part he kinda just stared blankly. He obviously wasn't going to say 'it's no problem lady' or something like that since he offered this to her in the first place, so of course it wasn't a problem. Not wanting to waste time with a mental rant he pulled her close and held onto her tightly before leaping out of the hole in the wall and window. Landing on the ground below gracefully while holding her up. Since he was quite a bit taller it was easier to hold her up. He slowly let her down and began to sigh at his luck. They needed to get out of there or they would be hassled by the paramedics.
