Ari waited to see what his answer would be. She hoped that he would say yes to her going with him. She knew that she had just met him, but she had this gut feeling that he wouldn’t hurt her, and that he was gentle and kind. Something else tugged at the back of her mind as well, that went along with her gut feeling. She could sense that something was…different about him, but she couldn’t figure out what it was. She shrugged to herself. She would figure it out later. Right now she needed to focus on getting better and being cautious about this man.
She had expected an answer from him, but he suddenly grabbed her and held her close. He leaped out of the building, and she closed her eyes, clinging to him and burying her head in his chest. She was afraid of heights and of falling, but she hadn’t told him that, so she hoped that the clinging didn’t offend him at all. She wondered where he was going to take her, and if she was now a fugitive since she had run from the hospital. She wondered if she would have to change her name, or maybe dye her hair…She thought about this as he set her down gently on the ground. She smoothed down her outfit.
“Um, thank you…for taking me…Um, where do we go now?” Her ears were halfway up, as she was a little afraid and a little worried. She looked around, wondering if anyone had seen them and if they were going to turn them in. She didn’t want to be arrested. She was only seventeen! She was too young to be arrested! She didn’t have any family members to bail her out either, nor did she have the money to bail herself out. If she got arrested, she was screwed.

SaS slowly adjusted his jacket as he began to plan his next move. His ears perked up when he heard her question and he turned to face her. 'We?' Where did this we come from? He could take her to town and all but when did they become partners? Sadly this was another thought he kept to himself due to not wanting to be seen as rude. He decided to test his waters as he spoke. " I can take you to town if you want....but you won't be in trouble for leaving. If anything they'll be after me for destruction of property." He explained softly before turning his back to her. He didn't have time to be wasting playing protector.
" I'm heading back to town. Do as you wish." He explained what he was gonna do as he began to walk off. If she wanted to tag along that was all well and good but he had shit to do today. Considering he was so calm after destroying property and kidnapping a patient, this girl could probably tell now SaS had a somewhat dangerous streak within him. As he continued to walk off she could see a different aura this time, it was a black one and the image of black wings could be seen on his back as he walked. I don't...have time to get close to anyone. This dragon would destroy her......without hesitation. He thought grimly as walked down the long winding road back for the previous town.

Ari felt bad for dragging him into this. She looked at the ground as she waited for his answer. She hated making eye contact with anyone. Her eyes told her emotions, and the emotions she was feeling right now were confusing her, so she didn’t want him to see the inner conflict that she was having. She played with her hands as she waited, her ears flicking off unwanted feelings. She swished her tail, obviously impatient, but she was trying her best to be polite to the man and not trying to seem rude. She sighed, wondering what his plan of action was going to be next.
She perked her ears up at his suggestion. Town seemed good, but she was worried that she would get in trouble. His next comment assured her worry, but she still was worried a little bit. She couldn’t get arrested, not now. She needed to keep her job and her apartment, or she would be living on the streets, and she could barely live now, as previously demonstrated that day. She sighed, listening to the rest of the conversation. Her ears drooped in disappointment as she heard what he had to say. She had hoped that he would stay with her, and that maybe they could even become friends. She tried not to cry, but she really couldn’t help it.
As she looked after him, she could sense a dark aura coming from him, but at that point she didn’t really care. She just didn’t want to be alone…which looked like it was going to happen anyway. She let the tears fall, but perked her head up when she saw black wings on his back. This was new. She wanted to ask him about it, but was too sad to say anything. She suddenly got angry at the man. Here he had done all of these nice things for her. And now he was just going to leave her? Without her doing anything for him? It was just plain rude. “Fine!” Her voice was shaky, but it was angry nonetheless. “Leave me like all of the others! No one cares about the freak with the ears! Go ahead and leave me here to die on my own!” She let the tears fall, collapsing to the ground on her knees, her body rocking with sobs.

His mind felt clouded and unsure, was this the right thing? No. He couldn't think like that, this world had no room for mercy or emotion. That's why he was alive for so long for he kept himself under control and isolated. So why was this girl getting so upset? His hidden eye was in pain and he knew it was from her change in aura, she was either mad, confused, sad, or all of them. Why? She just me him and had no reason to become so attached to him so easily. Perhaps she had been alone most of her life and had no on, or maybe she was the type to get easily attached. SaS had no clue but he knew such a girl would be a hindrance on his journey. But for him he felt that he wanted to turn around and call out to her. He was in conflict about what to do as he felt a sharp pain in his head.
To make matters worse he could hear her sobbing about something...something about being alone. Hah. She wasn't the only one and she didn't hear him bitching about it. But maybe that was to harsh a thought, and he should be more considerate. Another sharp pain went through his head as he began to realize what was wrong. He was coming out again and it would get bad. "......You...don't want to be around a person like me....so quit....whining." He spoke as if in horrible agony as the dragon gained more in control of him. The aura began to solidify as his eye patch fell to the ground. Lifting himself up the girl could soon see his blood red left eye as he looked at her with a look of pain before falling to his knees. Coughing a bit of blood he began to speak up slowly again.
" I....cannot have any one close to me...i could care less about your appearance girl....so...quit whining..and get lost...he's...coming." He said slowly before howling out in pain loudly as his aura expanded. Shortly after, the darkness began to surround him.

Ari kept sobbing. She felt so alone, and the man had turned away. She had no one, nowhere to turn to for comfort, etc. She had no family, seeing as her mother was dead of old age and she had no siblings or close family. She didn’t know what to do or say. She turned away from him. “Go away. You obviously don’t care enough to stay with me.” She was about to explain why she wanted to go with him when she suddenly felt a huge change in his aura. It had gone from normal to completely black. She turned towards him, and listened as he spoke. She could definitely hear pain in his voice. She stood up, shaking a little. “A-Are you ok…?” She then gasped as his eye patch fell off. She didn’t know what was happening, but she was very afraid.
She then went into defensive mode, just in case something happened. She saw dark aura encasing him, and she felt another range of emotions coming over her. Scared, freaked out, angry, sad, everything came out all at once. She didn’t know what was happening to him, and she wanted to help, but she didn’t know what to do. She felt helpless, and that was the one thing that she hated-well, besides rude people, which he had demonstrated prior to this event. She inched closer to him, afraid of what would happen. “I-I do want to be around you…you were nice to me…you rescued me and healed me even though you didn’t have to…I wanted to go with you to return the favor…It’s the least I can do…”
Her voice was shaky and very soft, but she was loud enough that he could hear her. She didn’t know what he would do next, but she wanted to help him fight whatever it was that was causing this aura. She didn’t touch him because she knew better from past experiences. “I never meant any harm…I just wanted to help you…help you with whatever you needed help with…I have no one else to turn to…no family…no friends…You are the closest I have to any of those things.” Among all of the emotions she was feeling, sadness was overtaking them all. She tried to fight the tears as they welled up in her eyes, but she couldn’t hold them. She let them fall, and when she spoke her voice was shaky. “I-I’m sorry…for everything…” She didn’t know what else to say or do.

He could feel the dragon dig into his soul and felt himself losing control. He opened his mouth again to warn her but no words came out. He screamed and kicked and fought but his body wouldn't act. The dragon had him now and he knew the maiden wouldn't intervene until the last possible moment, that's how it was. The aura stopped expanding as SaS/Dragon began to chuckle at the girl. He was rather disgusted by how weak she was behaving. He had only helped on a whim and she was this attached? HAH. Pathetic. SaS simply thought it was just that she was thankful but the Dragon knew better, this girl was just desperately alone and would be this attached to ANYONE who had saved her.
" Well well well. If it isn't the little girl my host saved." The Dragon spoke calmly as he stared at the girl coldly. As she stepped closer he could smell the fear coming from her. Then again, this was a man who could shoot fire from his hands and had a Dragon of darkness within him. It wasn't exactly that SaS tried to be a scary guy either it was just that Dragon did a nice job of destroying all who tried to be friendly. As the girl spoke she could hear the Dragon chuckle to himself as she spilled out her emotions. Normally SaS would remain silent, apologize, and leave but the Dragon decided to be cruel to the lady. What better way to learn the truth than from the problem.
" Listen toots...that's touching...it really is but this man doesn't care. Do you think you are the only one who has nothing left for them? I RUINED this kids life and made him lock himself up in a shell. The only reason he was kind to you was on a whim and he wanted to move along. BUT NO...you had to try and be kind to him and make him question himself. You had to think you were helping him by staying with him but you were making him suffer. Nice job, I was hoping to make him suffer a little today but you did my job for me! My name is Dark Dragon by the way, and the boys name is SaS. A pleasure to meet you little girl." The dragon spoke through SaS's mouth in a deeper but calmer tone as he smirked with SaS's mouth.

Ari didn’t know what to do. This…being had taken over the man’s body, and he showed no mercy. She had never experienced this before, and she didn’t know what to do. She stood her ground, still defensive. She wondered something…if the real SaS was in there. She decided to try something different, but this dragon character seemed like an ass. She was prepared to be an ass back, and would be stubborn if she had to. “Why do you reside in him? What purpose do you have?” She wanted answers, and she wanted them now. She was prepared to risk her life to get them. She got on her knees, and started to sing. As she did so, her hair ruffled, and the wind whipped up. She then glowed white, and began walking towards the man.
“I do not wish to harm you or the man. I also do not wish to cause him misery or pain. I don’t understand why you would want to. Help me understand.” She had one last trick up her sleeve. The spell she had cast upon herself allowed her to see other people’s pasts when she touched them. She had a certain way of touching him in her mind, and hoped it would be enough for him to fight the dragon that possessed him. “I wish to know…why you insist on causing so much pain…when there is other pain…to be felt…” Her voice was soft and gentle caring. She was still glowing white, and her voice was melodic, almost as if she were singing. She neared closer, the dark aura trying to touch her but the spell fending it off. She then caressed his face.
She locked her eyes with his. “I know the real SaS is in there. And I know that he can fight this menace and win. I only ask that he do it for me. Because it would make me very happy.” She whispered it in his ear, and then she pulled him close and kissed him. Her aura collided with his, and the blue and dark mixed together. She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck. She began to see all that he had done in his past, who he met and what he did, but she only caught glimpses as that’s all the spell would let her see. She hoped that this method worked well.

The Dragon began to smirk when she began asking questions since this had never happened before. Most people ran for it in pure fear when SaS lost control or begged for there lives. But here was this girl creating spells and making demands! What hilarity this was! To be fair he decided to answer her before she acted on her spell. " I was placed in this boy and I was created of darkness. If you think your kind and sweet words will change anything then you are one crazy fool ya dumb broad." He responded as she tried to reach out to him as if he had a problem. He was EVIL FOR GOD SAKES. SaS on the other hand was getting angry and attempting to retake control. " If it makes you feel better thought.....he's fighting for control so I won't hurt you...you should thank him babe." He said with a chuckle.
He didn't move when she touched his face and in fact began to consider slapping her straight across the face. This Dragon wasn't SaS and wouldn't take this kind of shenanigans. When she spoke again he began to smile at her words. Of course the boy was in there, even he knew that. But that didn't mean he could regain control just with a few nice words. The Dragon could feel the spell working and had no problems revealing SaS's past to someone who was nosey enough. If she could handle following around this problem child she could have him, but the Dragon would win in the end and he would get his body. As she kissed him the Dragon felt SaS get really confused at her actions as he kissed back without a problem. The dragon lifted up his hand and almost groped her before SaS stopped him with his will.
" Lady..you just met this guy and you are already getting all mushy and kissy with him? Geez you are a wreck. I suggest you get your hands off me or i will.......AUGH! What, losing control already? Wow...well I warn you now girl...if you really wanna be with him you are going to see MUCH more of me and in the end you will die with the boy ahahahahahaha!" The dragon howled and laughed as he began to glow, the darkness retreating as light surrounded SaS now. He was losing control and began to growl as his aura disappeared and soon enough the light was gone as well.

Ari continued to kiss him. She ignored what the dragon was saying. She didn’t care why he was there, or the fact that he was evil. The only thing she cared about was having SaS back in control. She did not like the fact that the dragon called her ‘babe’, but she let it go. She didn’t want to anger the dragon any further and cause SaS even more harm. That was the last thing she wanted to do. She hoped that her kissing him would work. She just wasn’t sure what the calm side of SaS would say. She hoped that he didn’t yell at her. She hated yelling the most. She tensed when she felt his hand wandering. She knew that it wasn’t the real SaS doing it. It was the stupid dragon, and she was determined to put him at bay.
She wasn’t getting mushy and kissy with him. It had been her only idea, which so far didn’t seem to be working. She held out though, wondering if it just needed some time to work. She hoped it did, because her protection spell only had a few minutes left in it, and if she was unprotected while the dragon was still possessing SaS, then the darkness would engulf her and she would be killed. She ignored the dragon again as he spoke, and then heard him laugh and howl. She could feel the darkness receding, and for once she was glad. She could feel her spell depleting as well, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. She could feel him regaining control, and it made her smile. She stopped kissing him, but didn’t let go of her embrace. It actually felt nice to hug someone for once.
She looked into his eyes, wondering if the real SaS was back yet. She didn’t want to let go in case he collapsed or in case he was possessed again by the dragon. She wondered if there were any good beings inside of him, and if so what they thought of the dragon. She shook her head, pushing the thoughts aside. She just wanted the kind SaS back. She didn’t care about anything else. She looked into his eyes, frowning. “SaS…?” Her voice was soft and filled with worry. She cared for him like a friend, and wanted to make sure that he wasn’t in pain anymore, and that he had full control again.

SaS felt her lips press against him and kiss him again and again. His mind was in a state of confusion but at least he was in control. Why was this girl being so kind...so friendly. Yes he did save her but this was above and beyond a thank you, she had nothing to do with him yet she stared the dragon in the eyes and attempted to soothe it. She was either a very brave woman or completely insane. When she stopped kissing he stepped back a bit and picked up his eye patch. He placed it back on so that his....distorted eye was covered. He looked at her cautiously unsure how to react to her kindness....he was vulnerable right now. " Why?.....why are you being so kind. You...you saw him didn't you...that monster. That monster is me...." He said slowly his words filled with pain. The pain he carried over the years was immense and it was slowly leaking out. Ari at this point could say anything and SaS would be his, whether that meant, friend, lover, or something more sinister. His innocence and vulnerability were out for her to see and he was clearly confused about what to do. And he had no clue what else to say except to find out this womans name.
" Y..your name girl? " He spoke softly as if trying to calm down but he took another step back as his mind ran wild in confusion and thought.

Ari watched as he slowly gained control. She was glad that the dragon was at bay…for now at least. There was no telling when that evil, sinister dragon would take control again. If he did, she would do the same thing, only she would make it last longer. She had actually enjoyed the kiss, but she knew that she had to get to know the man before…well, before they got ‘serious’. She wasn’t even sure if they were friends right now. She just knew that she had gotten him through most of the pain, and had confronted the dragon. She never wanted to do that again, but she would if she had to. She wanted to end his curse for him…once and for all.
She didn’t know what to do now. She watched as he picked up his eye patch and put it back on. She walked up to him and took it back off. “You don’t have to hide it from me anymore. And so what if people look at you funny? You think people accept me the way I am? I have ears and a tail. I get made fun of everyday. You have to learn to live with it. Consider it a gift, and not as a burden. That’s what I do.” She smiled at him. She then frowned when he asked why. She thought for a moment, and then smiled again. “Why? Because I don’t like seeing people suffer. Especially the ones I’m close to.”
She nodded at his next question. “I saw him and spoke to him. He tried to be an ass to me, but I decided to be an ass and ignore him. I think it worked.” She chuckled quietly at her own joke, hoping to cheer him up a little. She hoped it worked. She went up to him and pushed back a lock of his hair. “It doesn’t matter. He is gone now, and it’s just you and me.” She then stepped back. She was getting too intimate. She looked at the ground, avoiding eye contact. “My name is Ariwara Kaori. A pleasure to meet you sir.” She wasn’t sure if she should do anything else. She wondered what his reaction would be.

SaS's mind was everywhere at the moment as she spoke. This girl was something else was what he was thinking as she took off his eye patch and dropped it down. Giving out a small smile he placed it back on. " Sorry. But I like it on. It's a nice touch, and it has made me who I am. " He explained hoping she would accept it as he tried to regain his composure and calm down. He listened to her kind words and calmly nodded as he understood what she was saying. Although their situations were different they both had unique gifts that made them who they were. He began to blink at her statement about being close. " But..we just met?" He said with a tone of confusion at how kind she was being to a total stranger. He felt she had no reason for it even if he healed her earlier, it just didn't add up. He stared into her eyes with his one eye as she answered his questions and explained about her suffering as well. This girl was like him in a way but not, it
Her response about the dragon caused him to chuckle a bit as he stood up. " Gone? No. He will be back. He is in me forever...." He explained slowly as he sighed. The dragon wouldn't be gone for a long time, that much he knew. Hell it could very well be forever before the Dragon was gone. Ariwara huh? Giving a small grin he gave a playful bow before giving an introduction.
" SaS is mine. The pleasure..is mine." He adjusted his eye patch before gently rubbing his neck. " About earlier. I travel world to world...and work to live so if you carry your weight..you can.....follow...or whatever." He said softly as he glanced up. He tried to word that as best he could and he wondered how she would take it. He owed this girl a lot considering she introduced him to an emotion he had long forgotten.

Ari frowned at his comment. She didn’t like it on because it made him look scary. Almost like a pirate. She giggled at her own thought. “Well I think you need to become a different person. You should open up more. Be more…I don’t know, adventurous!” She giggled. She was quite happy right now, although she didn’t know why, given the circumstances and the event that had just previously happened. On the outside she was happy. She had to put on a façade for him, otherwise he would catch on to her fear, and would know that she was weak and vulnerable. On the inside, she was confused and her emotions were a mess. She was sad, happy, excited, and confused, all at the same time, but the one that was overtaking her was sadness. She was sad that he had to live with this curse and that she really couldn’t do anything about it, no matter how hard she tried.
She frowned at his comment about the dragon. She knew that he wasn’t gone. What she had meant was that he was gone for the time being, and that it was just her and the real SaS. She knew about curses and that they were hard to get rid of, but this one seemed almost impossible. However, Ari was determined to rid him of it once and for, until the day she died. She would not rest until he was completely rid of it. She was about to say something when he did a playful bow in her direction. She giggled again at his silliness. She didn’t realize that he could actually do something playful. The way he had come off to her was quiet and secluded. It made her glad to see that he had a fun side.
She listened to him as he told her what he did for a living. She wasn’t sure if she could quit her job to travel with him, and she wondered if he was going to leave right now or if he would give her some time to get ready. She was fine with either way, but she preferred to have some time to get ready. She was a mess from all of the previous events, and wanted to take a shower before she went anywhere. She wondered if he would at least allow her to do that before they left. She hated feeling dirty, especially in front of guys. “That depends. Are you willing to give me some time to at least get a shower?” She waited for his reply.

SaS adjusted the last buckle on the eye patch and let out a small sigh. He had been very close to losing the gift from his sister once before and was going to make sure he didn't lose it again. He was staring at her calmly now and was curious about what she was thinking about. He knew she had to be in a bit of confused after what had just happened but she remained smiling. She must be a good actor or a very strong girl and SaS could respect that very much. He had only hoped she wasn't to sad for him being stuck with this curse forever, because he was okay with his fate since he felt it was his purpose to keep the dragon from hurting mankind. SaS had a feeling despite this Ariwara was probably upset that the first kind person she met was a doomed man.
" I am how I am, but I shall give...opening up...a try. As for adventurous....I do enough travels. Adventure usually comes to me sometimes." He said giving a small smile. This girl had already done so much so he had hoped his idea of traveling with him would take her mind off the dragon. He could handle that much on his own without help, although a partner couldn't hurt either right? Speaking of, he wondered if she would travel with him to begin with. He did have to take some more dangerous missions but having a cute girl was always a plus, or at least thats what his sister taught him. He could recall her words now, 'Behind every strong man there was a stronger lady. Find yours.' Although he was unsure if strength wise Ariwara was strong, she definitely had more heart than SaS did. When she mentioned the shower he began to chuckle. They had been out and about all day so a moment to rest and clean up would help. " Sure. I'll grab us an inn room to clean up at. There is one down the road." He spoke while gesturing down the road at the building over the horizon before he began to walk.

Ari watched as the man finally finished fixing his eye patch. She frowned again. She didn’t like it on him, but he had refused once, and she didn’t want to push him. She wanted him to be her friend…maybe something more, but for now just her friend. She was still a little upset that he had to live with his curse as well. She didn’t know how she could help, and a feeling of helplessness washed over her, the very thing that she hated the most with a passion. She wanted to get her mind off of it, but she really didn’t know how.
She listened to his comment and smiled. She was glad that he was willing to give opening up a try. At least she was getting somewhere with SaS, and she was glad that she was. This was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship, and possibly that something more that she hoped to get. She knew she had to give it time, take it slow, and make sure that she didn’t push him, otherwise it wouldn’t work. She giggled at his adventures comment. Well, maybe he was adventurous after all, and she liked that. She smiled at him.
She nodded. She had made her decision. “I’ll go with you then. I’m glad that you decided to try and open up to me.” She walked up to him and pushed a lock of hair from his face. “To me, that shows bravery.” She then pecked him on the cheek, and smiled. She was happy again, both inside and out. She then backed away and her tail swished. Her ears were all the way up now, and she was happier than she had ever been. “That sounds great!” She giggled and followed the man. “So, where are we going after we get cleaned up?” She was excited to be traveling, seeing new places, meeting new places, and other things.
