::...The Puppy...:: [/color][/u] Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. Zack rubbed the back of his neck when Cloud told him that it wasn’t easy to smile for him. A mark against Zack, wow, everyone was getting mad at him lately. He raised his hands up, trying to sooth Cloud as he went on about Sephiroth dead at his feet. “Hey man, look, it’s alright; I know how hard it is for you. I was just trying to um…lighten things up a bit.” He continued to rub his neck, a sign that he was a bit flustered. He never knew what to say, and he was making a grand mess of it as of this moment. Cloud had gone from thoughtful to bitter in zero seconds flat.
But he shouldn’t have been quite so stupid about what to say. He knew all to well what Cloud was going through. A l’cie…Smooth move retard! he chewed himself out. This is why he just shouldn’t be around anything; he always did something horrible and regretted it later. He was here to help Cloud through this and so far he wasn’t doing that hot of a job at it. Actually he was failing miserably.
Cloud was right, he had known his parents. It would suck not to know someone that was your family. “Ahhh you have a point, knowing them is far better.” It was like that, rubbing his neck and hoping that he could say something to help Cloud not be so angry about the past. Not even a name? That was bad…really bad. He cringed at that, now even he was feeling the depression of the situations.
And he had had to open his big fat mouth and say something about the Turks. He almost groaned out loud as Cloud spoke about them. Sure they had been behind a lot of bad, but when it came right down to it, the Turks were cut from good stuff. He knew them and liked them all. Tseng, Reno, Rude, Cissnei. One could say he was horrible because he had been associated with ShinRa, but he hoped no one held it against him. So he sighed a bit, still rubbing his neck. “The Turks have been in a lot of bad stuff, that’s true, but they’re not bad once you know them. They’re actually cut from good mold. I’m sure they would help us find it. They have been trying to clean up from what they did…and I believe them, as crazy as that sounds.” He saw the stubborn look on Cloud’s face and matched it for a second before sighing. “Oh alright, we won’t ask them for help…” But truth be told he didn’t know where to start first if not with ShinRa. Maybe he would ask Reno off the record.

"No worries....I know you mean well. I'm sorry for being so damned stubborn all the time. It's just hard for me to trust people...You should understand it....More than any one..." He should understand it more than any one. Cloud told Zack all about his child hood. And that it was not exactly the best child hood ever to have. Everyone rejected Cloud to the point it was hard for Cloud to just open up and trust even the ones he knew that were trying to help him. There were a few people that he had given his trust for. And it was a very a small list. But it was a list. He sighed as he saw the way Zack took it...He hated making his friend feel down...He just got Zack back.... "Maybe...Maybe we can ask Reno or Rude. But I don't want any one else to know that I'm trying to find out about my father okay. Kinda keep it under wraps for now. Hey. Dude, smile! I'm sorry I did that okay. You were so trying to cheer me up the best way you could...I just lately things have not been cheery in my life...I'm sorry man....." He wanted to let Zack to be happy.....For a moment, Cloud was so damned selfish....He never thought about Zack's feelings...He knew the man was trying to cheer him up....and Cloud really appreciated it...It was just hard for Cloud to express it....

o ::...The Puppy...:: [/color][/u] Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. When Cloud lightened up a bit Zack did as well. He really did hate having to be all emo and depressed. He would much rather try to look at the positive of the situation and lightening the mood. So he tried to look at the positive in the situation. The only thing was that he and Aerith were alive again. Other then that it there seemed to be nothing good about the current situation. Wow that was depressing. He found his happiness crumbling as he thought about it. Lately all he COULD think about was how horrible the situation was.
He tried to shrug it all off. The thinking, the future, the fact that Cloud wasn’t happy. Trying to smile, he waved Cloud’s apology off, “Its ok, trusting people is hard, especially when most have tried to kill you.” He said sadly, blue eyes looking down at his feet. How could he steer this away from all the depressing things when they really did have to talk about it. He knew he would wait for Cloud to tell him about the brand, but it was hard not letting on that he knew. Like the little times Cloud readjusted his gloved hand and said something about the bad things.
When Cloud changed his mind and said that they might ask Reno or Rude Zack’s jaw dropped open. Had he heard him right? He must have, but he wondered at what had made him change his mind. He knew better to ask then, so he just laid a hand on Cloud’s shoulder and tried not to be elated that he had actually agreed. “Ok, only Reno or Rude, and I’ll ask off the record. I won’t talk about it hardly at all, just see if they know anything or could look in their files. They might have something about him.” When Cloud turned tables and told HIM to smile he couldn’t help it.
A smile appeared on his face and he squeezed Cloud’s shoulder lightly. “Ok, I’ll smile, and I get that things haven’t been great, with the whole end of the wor-” He stopped abruptly right before saying anymore. He had almost said world, Cloud would have known for sure that he knew. And he didn’t want to tell Cloud he knew, he wanted Cloud to tell him. He tried to cover it up with something else. “I mean, uh, end of worry free times with Sephiroth back…” wow he had come close to blowing it. A little sickened look crossed his face, but he was glad he hadn't just spilled it out.

Cloud was starting to lighten up a bit. As he saw the old Zack was indeed back. He was still the old Zack that Cloud knew all to well. The care free optimistic, warm hearted, jokster he had always known Zack to be. Did Zack even realize what his own death did to Cloud? Cloud knew for a fact now the man knew. Yeah, Zack knew everything. Except that he was L'Cie.....He was not going to tell Zack any thing. This was some thing on he had to do on his own. But he would soon realize that he would need more help in this L'Cie thing than he thought he would.....He thought that he completes his focus and every one can have a merry Christmas...It doesn't work that way. It never was easy to live in a world as this.... Cloud just looked over what he was about to say and just nodded at what was said. "Okay good...Let's just focus on them at the start...And see if they have any thing they can tell....And Zack...You honestly have no idea how happy I am that you are back...When you died....My brother died..." And it hit him the gut when he said that cause he was hiding some thing from Zack....And he could not tell Zack..At least not right now. There has to be a different time and place and then he would tell Zack everything. But for right now all that mattered to Cloud was that he has his friend back and that there is nothing or no one that can take him away from him again.... So come on! Let's get you that home cooked meal at 7Th Heaven huh? I'm sure Tifa will be more than happy to see you again...." He of course had no idea of what Tifa had said to Zack on that fatal day long ago...He just knew that things would get better now that he had his partner in crime back and that they could over come any thing....He then walked Zack out of the church and into the beginning of his next life...... THE END^^
