Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early It seemed slipping in and out of ‘Turk mode’ was getting easier each day Cissnei was here. Reno was cracking jokes on the job…which he did anyway, but never let his emotions or thoughts run this wild before. He never was the type to sit there and think long and hard about something, at least on a mission where he could get distracted. He had to have his entire focus on the task at hand, jokes set aside for awhile too. Reno just stuck his tongue back out at her like a child as she did so as well. With his hair fixed to its best ability, they started off once again, back towards the main room they started in, and subjects once again changed rapidly as they always did with these two. “Yep, that seems to be a good idea Ciss, it’s a wonderful thing to think about.” He said hoping she would stick on that for awhile…they were both alive, true, but if she kept hovering about Reno’s well being…he didn’t know if he could bear to keep her in the shadows about his L’Cie business.
Into the helicopter and off to ShinRa, that was the next goal. “What do you mean I can’t keep up? Shoot, Rufus would probably give me a paydock even if he was happy…or not.” Reno said shrugging his shoulders as his eyes stayed locked ahead of him, through the glass windshield as he steered the helicopter back to base. The trip was rather quiet, not that it really bothered Reno, he was used to quiet. Cissnei was pretty quiet and Rude didn’t say much of anything, so the silence was familiar to him, if anything he would always be the one to keep up the random chatter, but…he did have other things on his mind. Like steering, yeah, that’s it. That’s what he could play it off as, that and he was truly tired. He’d have to suck it up later though, leaving at night was essential to getting away unnoticed. In broad daylight things like that just didn’t happen.
“A nap will do me some good, that way I’m refreshed and energized…tomorrow.” Reno hesitated a bit on that last word, knowing he probably wouldn’t see any of his fellow Turks tomorrow, or anyone he cared about. He just had to play the role for right now, pretend like nothing was wrong, nothing was up, and try to be just normal Reno! Finally landing back at ShinRa on the landing pad, Reno hopped out and made his way inside, half dragging the man they had been sent after, now to ‘pass the torch’ so to speak and let others interrogate him. After getting that all checked out, Reno snuck away to one of the secretaries desks before Cissnei had gone in to get the paperwork done and what not. He had asked some of the girls to take a few photos around ShinRa just for kicks, get some of the Turks and what not…he wanted to do that scrapbook with Cissnei sometime, but now…it just seemed like the time to leave her with a little something.
Back in his room with pictures spread across his bed, Reno had started on a scrapbook, with not many photos it was hard to do…so of course he wouldn’t complete it. As he sat there placing the photos carefully on each page, he started reminiscing about the memories here. He would miss everyone so much…even Elena for that matter! He got all the pictures placed and even added some subtitles to them, of course the last picture he placed in was one that one of the secretaries had gotten of him and Cissnei together all smiles and what not, that had to be the last one…but now the worse part of it all. That letter he had to write…for Cissnei’s eyes, and her eyes only. He wasn’t going to spill anything about his being a L’Cie though…this was going to be ten times worse than paperwork by far.
“Cissnei…
I don’t know how to write this and explain everything. There just aren’t enough words to say how I feel and how…how horrible this is going to be. This is why I can’t do this face to face, I don’t think I could stand to see the look on your face after you are done reading this. Please, try to understand, and I’ll tell you as much as I possibly can.
Back on our mission…something happened to me. That monster you saw…the one that had hurt you with magic…he’s mine. A summon I can rely on now. That fire magic…I can do that without the use of materia…and…I can’t get into a lot of detail on it, but I must leave ShinRa. It’s hard to think that someone like me, Second in Command, would ever leave a job like this. I’ve grown so attached and accustomed to my job, it’s hard to live any other way, you yourself have proven that. But…with what’s happened to me, it’s no way to live. I can’t put you and my family…the Turks at risk. That’s why I’m leaving.
I don’t exactly know what’s going to happen to me, or if I’ll return one day or not, but I want to you remember something for me okay? What I told you today, it wasn’t false, I may have said I would always be here…but some promised you have to break. It doesn’t mean I lied about everything I said…I do love you, and I wish you the best. I want you to go on, take care of yourself and life a full life, work on that list of yours and accomplish things you never thought you could. I don’t want my leaving to be a big deal, and I ask that you don’t make it a big deal. People will eventually get the idea, and I know what they do to Turks who just bail out, I know that. Please just…try to keep my ‘disappearance’ on the down low alright? I do love you Cissnei, and it breaks my heart to have to do this and sound so Cliché about all of it. I’m just…I can’t risk losing you. Keep me in your memories alright? You’ll be in mine.
You’ll always be my girl.
Reno Sinclair.”
With that written, Reno placed it in an envelope with Cissnei’s name on the front before placing It in the scrapbook, right on the other side of the picture of him and her together. He closed the book shut and realized it had gotten late, he took a quick shower and changed into a clean suit before grabbing that scrapbook, and sneaking himself into Cissnei’s room as he did once before. Quiet as a mouse, he placed the book beside her on her bed and stared at her for a moment before quietly sighing and leaving her room, shutting her door quietly as he started heading for the helicopter landing pad. He was leaving.Words: 1312 Muse: IT EXPLODED! Tagged: Cissnei Notes: D: SO SAD!

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei watched his figure walking away and immediately her mind was going crazy again. What was happening to Reno? A nap was normal, bu him not sleeping? Something didn't add up. But what was she going to do about it? Reno had told her he was fine, and having known him basically her entire life Cissnei new one thing. Asking repeatedly wouldn't get anywhere with him. If he didn't want to talk about it he wasn't going to talk about it, no matter who or what the subject was. He was stubborn that way. With a gentle little shrug Cissnei lifted up her shuriken and set out for Tseng's office. Of course she knew full well that she could just call him, but why do that when she could talk face to face?
Making it to his office Cissnei stood there and gave him the full status report, Finally ending it with, “...So we got our man, Reno should have dropped him off in the cell for interrogation. I'll complete the necessary paperwork and have it sent to your desk.” “Good work. I'll have him interrogated soon, but for now excellent work, I have no new assignments for you right at the moment.” With a nod Cissnei turned to leave and with a hand on the door Cissnei hesitated. Should she tell Tseng about her concerns? No...whatever it was Reno would tell her soon enough if he wanted to. If not...then he would be alright and everything would be fine. Of course, that didn't stop her from being worried, but it did help ease up her concern a small bit.
Walking toward her office, Cissnei sat down and got the necessary paperwork. Sitting there staring at it, Cissnei's mind was floors away thinking about a certain Red headed Turk. Was he resting alright? Was he truly alright? Would he be ok? He had snapped out of the quietness once she had mentioned it, but for some reason she didn't think it was over just yet. Her gut wouldn't allow her to get rid of that feeling. Though usually hunches were false for most people, for Cissnei they were usually correct. She always trusted her hunches, and for now something was off. Yet she shook that off and filled out the paperwork, writing down what had happened in the mission. For a moment she thought of writing about the monster that they had found, but as she went to write, Cissnei hesitated.
Shaking her head she left I out, no...something...I'm...not sure. But I cant write it in here. With a firm nodding of her head, she skipped that part and filled it out. Finishing, she returned to Tseng's office and handed it to him before walking away again. Checking her watch, Cissnei realized it was now evening. Had she really spent that long over reports? With a sigh Cissnei went to go eat something as she hadn't all day. Finally it was time for sleeping. Going to her living quarters Cissnei got ready to sleep. Curling up underneath her covers, Cissnei's last thought was on Reno, as it had been for the last few days.
Her perfect world was about to be shattered. Eyes opened to see the dial of her alarm clock. What had woken her up? (It was the door closing) with a groan Cissnei reached for her phone, wondering if it was time to get up. Yawning, She suddenly realized that she had rolled over onto something. Rubbing her eyes, Cissnei reached for the object. Hand closed around something. Narrowing her eyes to see what it was, Cissnei reached for her beside lamp and turned it on, sitting up in bed. The first thing that greeted her eyes when she opened the scrapbook was a picture of her and Reno smiling. When was that taken? she couldn't remember it being taken, but with a shrug and a smile Cissnei realized what it was. “You remembered...” Eyes suddenly went to the opposite side. What? Pulling her knees up, Cissnei reached for the envelope with her name on it and with a quizzical look pulled it out.
Opening it up, Cissnei rubbed her eyes again and then started reading. Knowing immediately who it was from. “When did he put it here?” With a shrug, she continued reading past her name. The smile that had been on her face slipped slowly as she read the first paragraph, replaced with a look of horror and confusion. By the second paragraph Cissnei couldn't breathe. Horror filled her mind and body, unable to do anything but stare down at the paper in her hands. “No...” Body was frozen and for a minute her mind completely shut down. There was nothing but denial. Reno couldn't have left! He had been fine just hours before!...but way, no, she had known something was wrong! Her brain refused to allow her to think that it was true. It had to be a joke! But no...
Brushing the scrapbook aside Cissnei leapt off the bed, her legs getting tangled in the blankets. With her wild scramble and her legs getting caught Cissnei fell off the bed. With a gasp, Cissnei untangled herself and holding onto her letter ran to the door. She had to find him! He couldn't have left yet. For a moment she remembered how cold it was outside and slipped on shoes, but nothing else. Still clutching the letter in her hands Cissnei threw open the door and ran down the hallway. Unsure of where she was going, Cissnei was running toward Reno's room. Getting here, she pounded on the door. “Reno!!” Nothing...opening the door Cissnei burst in and looked around. He wasn't there. That left only one place left...
Cissnei took off towards the helicopter pad running as fast as she could. She was dressed lightly, in a shirt and pajama pants. Running out of the doors of ShinRa, Cissnei snapped her head around tried to find him. The cold hit her like a shot and yet she didn't feel it. Shivering, Cissnei held it together mainly because she was in shock. This couldn't be happening! Thats when she noticed the solitary figure walking toward a helicopter. “RENO!!!” She yelled out and stumbled into a run, the paper still clutched between her fingers. Running toward him through the snow Cissnei suddenly tripped over a small snowbank. Falling to her knees, Cissnei caught herself with her hands and felt a sharp pain shoot into her hands. Her clothes were all full of snow and would start melting, but for now she couldn't feel it.
Rising to her feet, Cissnei blindly looked around before she settled back on Reno. “RENO WAIT!!” The snow was falling now, wind cutting at her severely, and yet she still didn't feel it through the other pain in her chest. “NO! RENO PLEASE!!” It all became real then, almost as if before she had been able to think it was all fantasy, not reality. But that wasn't possible any longer. Her breathe was coming ragged gasps and her body was becoming numb to the temperature that her thin clothes couldn't repel. “RENO YOU CANT...LEAVE...ME!” Running toward him, Cissnei could feel her heart being ripped out of her chest. If only he would stop, if only he would turn around and tell her it would be ok. If only he could tell her it wasn't true, kiss her and tell her it was all a dream. The tears had come without her knowing, streaking down her face. “Tell me it isn't real!!! This is a dream, I'm just having a dream. NO! RENO NO! This can't be happening!”

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno had been worried about this for hours. How would Cissnei take it? He wouldn’t be around to know, but it made him feel bad, he didn’t want to leave, lord knows he loved this place so much, it was his home…and the Turks…they were his family. How could he leave it all behind? Reno figured he didn’t have a choice at this point in time, he wasn’t going to stick around and then turn around and destroy his job…his friends, everything he loved, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to turn into a monster and put his friends and those he loved the most at risk at being attacked by a mindless beast, it was all a loss for him no matter what. As far as he knew it was inevitable…his focus, everything about it depressed him. Think about it, happy peppy Reno…depressed, it really struck a nerve for him to think of himself as depressed.
It appeared Reno just wasn’t quiet enough with shutting Cissnei’s door. He heard it make a slight clanking sound as he shut it and immediately paused, listening to see if she had been woken. Not a sound. Good, with that Reno let out a quiet sigh of relief before walking down the hallway as quiet as possible trying not to wake anyone. It wasn’t easy sneaking out of the ShinRa building, you never knew who was up and wandering at night, or who was doing late night paper work, but Reno seemed to get out in the clear, he didn’t see anyone around or any lights on. He felt around and took his steps quietly and slowly to make sure he didn’t run into anything while he was stuck in the dark making his way to the helicopter pad. So far so good.
Opening the door to outside, the cold hit Reno like a punch to the face, it really was winter wasn’t it? Flying up high was going to be loads of fun, and yes, that was sarcasm. Walking outside in the snow Reno closed the door behind him and folded his arms across his chest as he stepped into the snow and towards the cold helicopter. Once onto clear ground where it have been scooped away from the chopper, he opened the door to the thing and still felt cold. Might give it a few minutes to run and let the engines and what not warm up before taking off, but he would have to be quick. Helicopters weren’t exactly silent you know. Crawling into the chopper he started it up and let it run, pulling his headphones on he said there waiting for a few minutes with the door wide open. His heart was pounding heavily as he already regretted leaving, part of him wanted to just suck it up and live out the moments until is time was almost out, then leave…but then again, he wanted to find a way to save himself…and he got lost in his thoughts.
With his eyes closed, Reno sat in the chopper trying to get his thoughts straight before a yell got his attention. His eyes flickered open as he looked over out of the chopper and saw Cissnei there in her pajamas. She had fallen in the snow and Reno’s face fell, his brows furrowed together as she got up and ran towards him once again. Hopping out of the helicopter he dreaded this moment…it was the very reason for his letter. He didn’t want to face this. He didn’t want to leave Cissnei, but…he had to let her go, somehow he had to find the will power to let her go. “Cissnei…” he said quietly as the air was silent, no sounds of the city to muffle his words, to distract his train of thought…which right now, would’ve been a great thing. Instead, he was focused on her, and the tears on her face tore at his heart right there. With a sad look on his face he shifted his eyes away from her. He wanted to tell her this was all a dream…if only it were true. No, this wasn’t a dream, this was a nightmare…and Reno so desperately wanted to wake up.
When Cissnei got close enough, Reno looked at her, his eyes no longer having that spark in them, they were truly sad as he took a step forward and just wrapped his arms around her. Cissnei was cold and wet from the snow, but Reno didn’t care. Just holding her this once…this last time…it sort of gave him relief, and it gave him pain. He was leaving this…this special bond they had, a relationship like no other. He was leaving a part of him behind. “Cissnei…you have to understand.” He said stepping back and holding her at arm’s length and looking into her beautiful yet sad crimson eyes. “What happened back there…on our mission…” he sighed, might as well tell her the truth. “I’m a L’Cie…Branded by a Fal’Cie from the world Pulse…that’s what all those PSICOM guys are here for…for L’Cie like me. Bound to an inescapable focus…” he said looking down before lifting both hands off her shoulders and pulling his sleep back, revealing the brand on his arm. “I can’t stay here…you don’t know what sort of trouble I’ll cause.” He said, his voice breaking a bit as this tortured him on the inside.
“My focus…it’s too horrible to explain. All I know is this….I don’t want you to get hurt…by me.” Reno said as he glanced away from Cissnei. Those tears, it almost convinced him to stay, but…he just couldn’t! As heartbreaking as this was, he had to do it. Placing one hand on Cissnei’s shoulder and stepping closer to her, Reno kissed her on top of her head, closing his eyes and feeling like a complete ass right now, for a moment even, he thought he might shed a tear, but he blinked them back. “Cissnei…I need to you to stay here…don’t risk your life for mine…I know how you are…promise me you’ll keep yourself safe.” He said looking down at her now. “I know I haven’t been the best boyfriend at all…nowhere near that…but please…stay safe.” He said before stepping back from her and letting his hand fall to his side as he backed up to the helicopter. “I…will always love you, make no mistake of that.” He said trying to curl a small smile on his lips but it just wasn’t all that great. There was nothing to smile about. This was hopeless, when all was said and done, Reno got into the helicopter and shut the door, shifting the gears around before the helicopter slowly lifted off the landing pad. His eyes weren’t on the skies, they were down on Cissnei, all up until the moment the helicopter turned and headed out of sight. Out towards the middle of nowhere.Words: 1311 Muse: Exploded again! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei ran toward the helicopter that was heating up. No! No no no no! As the snow melted from her falling, Cissnei became wet, but she wasn't paying attention to anything but getting to Reno. Crimson eyes went to blue as she continued on toward him. The lights that were always turned on surrounding the landing pad made it easier to see him. As he got out and she neared him Cissnei felt a flicker of hope in her heart. He had to listen to her! He would listen to her, he wouldn't leave ShinRa, it wasn't real, it was just a dream. That flicker of hope would just make it harder since she would get crushed all over again. Eyes stared into his until he looked away. And then she was close to him. The tears had started to fall without her knowing.
Then she was in his arms. A shiver went up her spine as she clung to him, chest heaving and body shaking from more then just the cold. For this moment it was alright, head was buried in his chest and arms were wrapped around his neck. Breathe came in ragged gasps as the warmth radiating from Reno helped chase away some of the cold. Yet as she warmed up slightly her body started shivering and shaking, though the tears helped that along. For a second then she could feel how wet she was, but it was pushed out of her mind as soon as it came in. Cissnei didn't care if she was cold and wet, she wouldn't let Reno go, she couldn't let him go.
For another moment Cissnei thought everything would get better. Reno was holding onto her and she could feel him there with her. Breath could be seen as it hit the cold winter air, but for now she lay shivering in his arms. Bare arms were exposed to the cold, but that wasn't a concern. Eyes were closed and shoulder slumped suddenly as she stood there and wondered what was going on. She had no idea, but if she could just keep Reno here. She couldn't let him leave, she had to stop him. If she had to hold onto him and refuse to let go she would. Sobbing breathes were coming from her chest as she tried to calm herself down. Only just accomplishing it when he stepped back and looked at her.
No! She didn't want him to explain! Shaking her head back and forth, Cissnei tried to tell him, even opened her mouth, but it was as if her brain froze to what she should say. With her head tilted back, Cissnei continued to shake her head. “No! Reno don't tell m-!” His eyes were dull...like the life had gone right out of them. Breath caught and held as the tears stopped completely a that, shocked at what she saw. Never...never had she seen his eyes like that. Normally always twinkling and full of fun, to see them so dull brought a pang of anguish to her heart. Breaking slowly from the inside out. Shaking her head blindly, Cissnei refused to look him in the eye. If she didn't listen it couldn't become reality. If she didn't listen...
She was frozen, every spark of hope went out of her as he started to explain. Cissnei had gone on a mission with Rod when he had come back that was in regard to portals and PSICOM, but she had no idea what a l'cie was. Hands tightened around his arms as he held her at a distance. It hurt even more that way and Cissnei tried to get closer to him once more. Only a bad dream...only a bad dream. “I don't want to know Reno!” That burst out of her mouth before she could stop it. “I don't want you to leave, please! Please stay here with me!” Clinging to him still, Cissnei felt the tears come spilling over and down her cheeks once again. When his hands dropped from her shoulders Cissnei stared blindly through the tears at what he was showing her, looking without seeing.
When he stepped closer again Cissnei felt the kiss on her head and wrapped her arms around him, soft sobs coming from her body. Once again when he pulled back and tried to have her promise Cissnei blindly shook her head from side to side. “Let me come with you! Please! Reno I cant...stay...here...” The tears were streaming down as she stood and shivered from the cold that surrounded her. Numb from the pain and freezing temperature, Cissnei stood there with nothing but her shattered heart. How could she promise something like that? “No Reno!! You cant..leave...me...” Standing there frozen as he backed away, the look she gave him was one of heartbroken pain. “You promised...”
For a second she could do nothing but stare after him as he slowly made his way toward the helicopter. That was when she sprung into action. Cissnei ran toward the helicopter, but Reno lifted it off the ground. “Reno I love you! Don't goooo!!” Cissnei tried skidding to a stop but it backfired as she fell down again, the snow making running difficult. No strength left to stand, no strength to go on, all she could do was kneel there on her hands and knees and sob. Lifting her head then, body shaking, eyes rose toward the sky as he lifted off. “YOU PROMISED!” That was spoken in a yell, her last ditch effort to get him to turn around, to stay with her, to tell her more of what had happened. But it didn't happen like that.
The helicopter turned and went off and Cissnei knelt there in the snow sobbing. What was going to happen then? “How...could...you?!” He had been her new dream, but it was snuffed out now. Everything, every reason for living had always been taken from her. Everything she cared about. Body was numb to the cold, yet she continued to kneel where she was, eyes staring after the helicopter long after it was gone. No strength to stand...no strength to go one. But somehow she managed to find some. Was this what was supposed to happen?! Had she let her heart go just to get it broken? Heart pounded slowly as she slipped in and out of the darkness that surrounded her...“You...promised...” Voice broke and Cissnei reached a hand up to cover her mouth as sobs racked her body, unable to do anything but see the look he had given her at the last....so full of pain...
How could she find the strength to go on...? Words: 1256 Muse: awesome! Tagged: Reno Notes: *Sobs* the end?? ;-; ;-; ;-;
