Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille just smiled. “Are you kidding? I am the cool kid around here…” She smiled trying to make a joke herself, or at least be a little funny. She wasn’t much of a joker, just a listener. One who appreciated a good comic. Fate, was indeed a good comic, unless you had overdone a joke, but even then Vanille was easy to cheer up. Though the subject of Fang didn’t keep her too cheerful for very long, she wasn’t sad or anything anymore, it was time to accept what was to come and deal with it, she was more worried about getting the happiness kicked out of her when she saw Fang again. “Perhaps…I should see Fang myself. I know she’ll be angry and I don’t want her taking it out on the wrong person. If it’s between me and anyone…or anything else. Fang would surely take it out on the other being or whatever it was. I don’t want her to hurt you or myself, but yeah, I think it’d be best if I went and talked to her alone…at least first off.” It was a good idea right? Vanille could talk to Fang, keep herself alive and talk some sense into her friend about Oerba, Pulse, the Focus, everything! And then get down to talking about Fate then perhaps introducing the two. Soften Fang up before surprising her with more. Walking up to the stone it rose up and floated for a moment. Vanille smiled and reached her hand out to the stone and it glowed a bit. “L’Cie who fail to complete their focus become Cei’th. From there, they wonder the world aimlessly…soon give up all hope and turn to stone calling out to any l’cie saying ‘complete my focus’.” She sighed a bit placing her arms at her sides as she recalled that that could be here soon enough. Hopefully not. “It acts as a teleporter as well…perhaps it can get us back to Cocoon without having to travel so far…” She said turning to Fate with a bright smile, her green eyes full of happiness. “We just have to complete their focus for it to help us….want to give it a try?” She said hopeful folding her hands together and making her eyes a bit bigger, going for a cute puppy dog effect.

"And that's exactly why i'm hanging out with you. You're so cool that your coolness rubs off on me and makes me look cool." He smiled slightly. To think that this may be one of the last times that he would smile since Fang was going to have his head was scary. Letting Vanille talk to Fang alone first was the best and brightest idea. "You go talk to her alone. It will give me time to find a really great hiding place."
As the stone started to float Fate tilted his head to the side slightly. This was looking like something straight out of a horror movie. This stone was what a Cie'th turned into when it gave up hope? "I'm always up for helping people and it could help us get back much quicker. Let's go for it!" This would totally be better than a taxi if they could be teleported. So what could this stone's focus have been? He hoped it would be something easy and quick. "We're not going to turn into stone if we aren't able to complete their focus, are we?" ((Sorry for the very short post. Tried to get this one in quick since i'll be away until after Thanksgiving.))

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Heh, Vanille was cool. She was sure if compared to anyone she knew before it would be Fang who was that ‘cool kid on the block’ back in Pulse. Now she wouldn’t even be compared to any Cocoon people, she was a L’cie, not even considered human. Oh well their loss, Vanille was cool and that’s the end of that subject. “Well I’ll try to spread some of my coolness around. And if you get some of that coolness, maybe Fang will think you’re so cool she’ll totally not go for t he attack…then again, I think I will talk to her first.” Vanille said with a confirmed nod as she folded her arms and smiled. Things were starting to look a bit brighter, Vanille’s brand hadn’t progressed anymore for the time being and they were getting ready to go back to Cocoon to find Fang. “I’m sure you won’t need to hide…I’ll make sure she doesn’t even think of hurting you….She loves me too much to hurt me. It may seem mean but I’ll lay the guilt trip on her if she starts to get a bit…testy.” Vanille said with a shrug and a smile. So Fate was up for helping the Cei’th whose focus still had to be completed, that’s where they came in. “Alright! Let’s see what this focus is.” She said pressing her hand to the stone again and it gave a jolt of color around the edges of its stone structure. “No, we won’t turn to stone or anything. It will never be our focus so we take no responsibility for if it fails. We just get an unhappy Cei’th stone.” She said looking around waiting for the stone to give off some sort of sign to what the focus was that they needed to complete. Hopefully it was nearby and not having to travel very far. While waiting on the stone to glow or something Vanille turned to Fate. “I appreciate you coming with me here to Pulse. I don’t know how I could’ve gotten through it without you. You gave me such a better perspective on things, much better than the doom and gloom I imagined would happen about this whole focus thing.” She said with a smile as the stone then glowed again and it chanted a weird pulsian language. Vanille listened carefully and took in all the details of this old language. “The focus…it was to hunt off a creature called a Zinitara. A flying beast with deadly attacks.” Vanille said as the stone rested back on the ground after revealing the focus. “The location is actually quite close, it’s farther up in Oerba, over by the energy mills.” She looked down the sidewalk of Oerba back towards the square. “It’s beyond the school house…it won’t take but a few minutes to get to….are you ready?” She said pulling her binding rod out of its folded state on her bear sash. “We’re a dynamic duo, we can take on this zinitara thing!” She said happily with a small fist pump. (no worries- and happy thanksgiving )

"Yeah, you talking to her alone is the best idea ever. Hey, even better idea! How about we keep Fate a secret from Fang... Kidding... Somewhat." Honestly, Fate did believe Vanille when she said that Fang would never do anything to hurt her so that kind of made Fate safe. Still, what if Fang just saw Fate as just some regular boy who would end up hurting Vanille physically or emotionally. Either way, he was sure to feel the wraith of Fang. She's gonna stab ya with her spear. Not cool. Right. My bad. I meant, she's gonna to pierce ya with her lance.
"Since we won't turn into stone... I'm always up for helping an unhappy Cie'th Stone complete its focus!" He said, standing in his heroic pose, "For I am the Great Fate and that is what the Great Fate does!" Only thing missing was the cheesy theme song playing in the background... And his pride. It was a win-win situation. They complete the stone's focus and they would be teleported back to Cocoon... Hopefully. Now negative outcomes of this teleportion was playing in the boy's head. What if it turned into a bad science fiction movie and while teleporting their molecules get all messed up? Fate shivered at the thoughts.
It couldn't be any different from jumping into a portal, right? Well, he would find out after completing this focus. Then Vanille basically thank him again. Fate shook his head and waved his hands, acting bashful. "That's just one of my special abilites, along with making it rain candies and making it snow butterflies... Don't ask how." Zinitara... Yeah, this wasn't going to be a walk in a park. Usually creatures with weird names were extremely strong. But this focus seemed way better than the one Vanille was handed. "Alright! Let's go attack a flying beast with deadly attacks a.k.a. Zin-watchamacallit!"

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille just kept up her upbeat happy attitude as Fate joked around some more…well sorta. “I’ll make sure she’s 100% calm when I take you to meet her. She knows better than to upset me. She never really has before I don’t see why she would start now.” She shrugged a bit before shaking her head some, her curls bouncing a bit as she did so, a small smile still on her face as she reached her hands out, clasping one of Fate’s in both of hers. “Don’t you worry. Everything will be fine. I promise. Just have faith in me, It’ll be like…my more pleasant less dangerous focus. To make sure Fang understands how I feel and what’s going on.” Her smile stretched a little farther across her face as she closed her eyes a bit in happiness before reopening them. Having some sort of bright sparkle to her already vibrant green eyes, Vanille was truly happy. Why this happy feeling was occurring now? Especially when this whole ‘get rid of your focus’ thing didn’t work? Vanille just didn’t know, it was weird. “Has the great Fate ever completed a focus?” Vanille said with a smirky smile while folding her arms. “If so, please share. I’d like to hear this story.” She said knowing Fate hadn’t completed a focus before, she had described so much about them, that it was just a good guess on her part. “But we’ll get this focus done…because you are the Great Fate and I’m the…Magnificent Vanille was it?” trying to remember back on every single joke on this trip, it was hard to since there were many, oh well, they were bound to come up again. Especially the chocobos and sheep. Vanille’s eyes lightened up, along with her expression. “Rain candies and snow butterflies?! Wow, I really am a lucky girl aren’t I?” She said happily before taking one half skip forward away from the stone in the direction of the square again, beyond that, the school house. “Some of these animals and creatures on Pulse are actually quite friendly…take the sheep for example, I’ve seen them even back when I was…well first chosen for my focus. And well…Zinitara’s aren’t exactly the friendliest creatures.” She said inching forward but keeping a positive tone on everything she said. “But between you and me…it should be a walk in the park…with my debuffs and your lightning skills…well it’ll be easy.” She smiled turning back a bit to look at Fate through the corners of her eyes. “We’re a dynamic duo you know…we can take down pulse creatures AND Fal’Cie…quite impressive don’t you think?”

"It's cool. I like having my life in your hands," Fate smiled, "I'll just stay on your good side so that you don't throw Fang on me." Even her name was scary! Maybe Fate would not be as frightened if Fang's name was Kitten or something like that. No, that would just be sad if he were to get killed by someone named Kitten. As she grabbed his hand with her owns, Fate shrugged and smiled. "Fate's faith is now placed in you. Besides, i'm a likable guy so Fang has no choice but to like me."
"Totally. I completed like ka-zillion focuses--Whatever the plurl form of focus is--Before I met you. I was just keeping it a secret. They were fairly easy so no need to brag," Fate said jokingly, "One of them was to be awesome so that was pretty much a given. I mean, I got violet, uh, purple eyes. Not to mention i'm a superhero. Long story short... I'm awesome." If only that had enough time for one of Fate's stories. They highly exaggerated, but entertaining. A simple walk in a park for Fate could easy turn into one of the biggest adventures ever with Fate narrating. "Yes, yes. You are the Magnificent Vanille or Vanille, the Magnificent."
"Nah, you can't be that lucky. You're partners with one of the most overrated superheroes ever. But i'll try to tune down my awesome-ness just because I like you so much," Fate nodded, "Also don't tell this to anyone but... The snowing butterflies are actually moths in butterfly outfits... They want to be pretty too." He followed Vanille as they [assed the school. They were drawing closer to the Zinitara which Fate knew wouldn't be any problem or so he hoped. "Very impressive. All the other superhero groups are totally jealous of us." ((*Cough* Doesn't the Zinitara absorb electricity... V.V))

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Perhaps…that first statement wasn’t very comforting. Having someone else’s life in her hands probably wasn’t a good idea. Vanille couldn’t even handle her own at this rate, why add someone on when it would only end in failure? With a small fraction of a giggly smirk her spark seemed to die down a bit as she stared off in another direction, to hide the discomfort in her expression. “Yeah…I’m sure she’ll like you…we won’t have a problem.” That was a positive thought, but saying something was a lot easier than actually having it happen. Fang was stubborn and very hard headed, getting her to like anyone right on the spot would be a challenge. Looks like Vanille better prep those puppy dog eyes of hers if she wanted to accomplish that. “All will be good. I’m positive.” She said placing her hands on her hips and nodding her head a bit to confirm her statement in confidence. “Oh? Well, then I should’ve come to you for advice instead of complaining my heart out about my focus. Got any ideas about how to evade this one?” Vanille said with a small smile as she cocked her head to the side a bit like a puppy, trying to keep her cheery disposition alive. “Anywho! This stone focus should be super easy if you’re experienced with focuses and I’m experienced with Pulse creatures. Yay for the simple things in life.” Her smile widened a tiny bit as she skipped a few feet ahead, her hands and arms swaying from side to side as she listened to the multiple clanks of her many bracelets hit against one another. “This will be fun I’m sure. Fang and I used to go looking for things to do like this all the time…that and chocobo races.”Lucky. If only things like that weren’t just a myth. “Nah, you don’t have to tone down anything. It doesn’t bother me at all. In fact your super awesomeness is quite entertaining. You know how hard it is to be sad when you’ve got someone funny cracking jokes left and right? Very hard.” Stopping in front of a worn down school house, Vanille folded her hands behind her back and leaned on the heals over her feet. She looked at the building, absorbing every detail into her mind. She wanted to remember Oerba as it was now. “I used to go to school here...” She said with a sigh before turning a bit to the left towards a stairway that led up to the old rusted railway. “I guess we keep going farther till we find this…thing.” With that, Vanille set off leading once more towards the stone stairwell. “Dynamic duo…” she repeated softly thinking back…memories of happier days of her and Fang, focus-less and free to live about Gran Pulse and do as they pleased. (i dont remember- haven't played it in awhile lol. we'll say it doesn't >_>)

Of course it isn't going to be a problem. Fang could handle like seven of us and it still wouldn't be a problem for her. You really think she could handle seven of us? Nah. Six and a half.... Definitely. Worst come to worst, Fate could always annoy her... That would just make her kill him quickly. So that only left him with only one option: to beg for his life if Vanille's plan didn't work. "You're postitive and i'm positively charged..." He said, holding his hand up and letting a bolt of electricity dance around, "... Literally positively charged."
"Got any ideas! You're talking to a kid with a limitless imagination," He responded. He rubbed his chin for a moment as if he was actually giving this thought. Jokes aside, there wasn't any advice that Fate could give Vanille that she wasn't doing now. She was standing strong against this focus instead of giving into the obvious answer; destory Cocoon. "I'll have to talk to my sheep about this one. There is this one piece of advice that I give that works for everything..." He paused, "Form a Dynamic Duo with Fate. Check! The t-shirt should be coming in the mail in a few days."
"You and Fang raced against chocobos! That kinda sounds like a losing race... Hey, as long as you have fun and don't get trampled by chocobos you're good." Of course he knew that they raced with the chocobos, he was just teasing... He wouldn't put it pass Fang if she actually raced against them though. "And jokes prefer not to be cracked. They actually like to be handled with care," He nodded, "True story." The school, where Vanille was taught. Nothing more than a rusty building now. Yeah, now wasn't the time for one of those jokes. He just kept his mouth shut and tried to get a few glances inside the building as the continued on. "The Dynamic Duo verses the flying deadly whatchamacallit! Hey, maybe this i'll actually get in a few more attacks before you decided to complete destory the whatchamacallit."

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Positively charged…now there was a new one. Vanille smiled wide as she nodded in agreement. “well with all this positive energy going around…we should be okay then.” She said watching the little bolt of electricity go around Fate’s hand. Magic and other sort of elemental manipulations were so…fun. She didn’t see why the Cocoon people were so afraid of L’cie and their magical powers. Oh well, their judgments didn’t matter to her, she liked the magic and it helped her out. Thus, they were good. It was so amazing how Vanille’s emotions could twist and turn in every direction in a matter of seconds. She could be depressed and sad one moment, and five seconds later the happiest person alive, she had Fate to thank for that. Vanille’s eyes widened a bit as Fate said he had a limitless imagination. Did he really have some sort of idea? If so, why didn’t he share it sooner? But the look of shock and wonder on her face was quickly replaced with a full blown laugh. Oh the sheep! The wonderful cute sheep! “Well if you guys do come up with a better idea please let me know right about…as far as I’m concerned all my idea’s aren’t really working.” She said shrugging her shoulders a bit calming down from her laughing fit a few seconds ago. “And I’ll keep an eye out for that t’shirt…I hope it’s my size.” She joked along a lot more these days, back when the focus was new Fang and Vanille were pretty serious about it, there wasn’t much time for jokes or fun anymore…the world seemed a much darker place since Vanille had last been around it. The fear of a Pulse invasion made it that way…the Fal’cie feeding lies to the Cocoon people made it that way. “Oh no, we didn’t race against chocobos…we just raced them. Hopped on and went at it!” She said very cheerfully, it was something she really wanted to do, but it would have to wait, besides, Fang wasn’t even here to race with! It was always fun, especially if you got a really good fast chocobo. Coming across the school sort of toned down the joking, and Vanille noticed how quiet Fate was when they came across it, probably a good idea. With a sigh she just kept continuing on as Fate spoke of getting more hits in this battle. With a blush, Vanille giggled a bit sheepishly. “Ah…heh, Sorry about that…I guess I sort of…got in the moment last time. Don’t you worry, you’ll definitely get some hits in…we can tag team if you like?”

"And that's the shocking truth..." He said, still holding his electrified hand up, "Okay, I'm done with the punny jokes... Alright that one was the last... Until I think of others." It felt extremely awesome to have someone to enjoy your jokes instead of giving you that look of "can't believe he expected me to laugh at that." Sonuske was Fate's biggest and cruelest critic. Basically he was a jerk to him for no reason. He shook his hand causing the electricity to fade away.
"Well, we could aways cut your arm off with the brand and throw it in an ocean of fire... That idea might be a little bloody and painful. Oh, and you'll have to get one of the sheep to cut the arm off because i'll pass out at the site of a lot of blood. True story." Yeah, that was the worst plan ever! Not only would it cause Vanille pain, but once Fang found out that Fate came up with that idea she would kill him dead. Then there would be the lost of those great hugs that Vanille could give... Not a great idea at all Fate. "Don't worry. I'm sure you'll be able to fit it. It's one size fit all. Yeah, I thought about it in advanced! I'm so smart."
"Nah, don't worry about me. Take the whatchamacallit down and i'll do what I can to help. Seriously, how many guys can actually say that their girlfriend can not only beat them up, but also whatchamacallits? This guy!" He pointed to himself, "They're totally going to be jealous of me." Now that he thought about it Fate was sure that if pushed Vanille could be even more scary than Fang. Man, ya sure do know how to pick'em. He shivered at the very thought of being on the recieving end of one of Vanille's attacks.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Pun after pun, it just never got old did it? Even if they were lousy, even if they were corny and horrible…they were still…very funny to Vanille, very mood lightening and very…very distracting. “The shocking truth…” She repeated softly more to herself than anything. What really was the shocking truth was that Vanille realized how this all would turn out, unless some people went behind her back and did her focus for her, if that didn’t happen, then it would all turn out the way she wanted it to. Cocoon being safe, Fang and Fate being safe…and her…a mindless Cei’th wandering about Pulse preferably forever until she gave up the will to go on and became one of those guilt filled stones chanting over and over to complete the focus she had so she could finally rest in peace to gain her eternal life. No, it wasn’t going to go as smooth as that. Her mind was blank, she had been thinking so much about punny jokes, her ‘fate’, and Fang…now there was just nothing left to think about. She wasn’t really listening when Fate said something about cutting off her arm…which…wouldn’t really help. She just kind of zoned out or something. “My brand…is on my leg.” She corrected him. “I don’t want to walk around-…or hop around with one leg.” She smiled a bit, coming back into the conversation more towards the end, not really knowing exactly what they were talking about. But she made an effort to be funny, or to just keep conversation rolling. The babbling helped her somewhat. It kept her mind busy, thinking of useless things to say, but when silence came along…all the fear and pain of being a l’cie returned with it. Vanille laughed a little. The whatchamacallits wouldn’t be that hard. Maybe. “And what girlfriend can say she has the perfect guy? This one!” She said pointing to herself with a flashy smile as she nudged Fate on the shoulder with her hand and took off running towards the old rusted rails of Oerba. “They’ll be jealous of you? Right! They’ll be jealous of me! I mean…I’m pretty, and tough!” She said giggling her way down the rails skipping steps over the rusted debris and finding her way at a cut off point where the rails ended onto a platform like piece, and there resided the Zinitara. Vanille stopped her giggly moment and pulled out her binding rod slowly to keep quiet. This was it…focus time…well not her focus…

"... On your leg... That does make a lot of sense now since I don't see it on your arm. Hey, worst come to worst... We take your leg and i'll toss you over my shoulder and carry you around everywhere. I'll be your very own chocobo minus the feathers and big beak." Now that Fate had thought about it he did not even know what a brand look like. So now his eyes were scanning her legs trying to find this brand, but nothing looked wrong about her legs. Was there something special you had to do to see this brand? Eyes up buddeh. Remember, ya kinda clumsy... Ya can barely mult-task as it is.
Right on cue, Fate had feel face first onto the ground. He quickly pushed himself by to his feet, pretending like nothing had happen. Yeah, he definitely lost some cool points for that one. He brushed himself off slightly, laughing at himself. "I have the perfect smile to go along with the pergect eyes. Not to mention my glistening teeth. I floss three times a day. You're right, I am the perfect guy," He shrugged slightly as she nudge his shoulder but then took off running. One thing was for sure; hanging out with Vanille was going to be a lot of excercise. "They're going to be a WHOLE lot of jealous. You're pretty and tough," Fate said, "Not many girls can compete with that."
Finally they have arrived at the creature. Why couldn't the creatures here be like the ones of his world? The huge creatures on his world were usually slow, sluggish, and somewhat dumb. The creatures here on pulse weren't only much more bigger than the ones of his world, but also quick and smart. It was totally unfair! "I think if I sing the whatchamacallit might kill itself... Or be extremely angry and torture us before ending our lives." He unsheath one of his blades as his eyes turned crimson. Aiming the blade at the Zinitara, Fate swung his free hand over the blade, electrifying it. "I guess I'll take first swing partner." Fate moved from Vanille's side, thinking it would be better if they were seperate so the beast couldn't try to take them out in one big attack. He wanted to try and get behind the beast, but he knew that would be extremely hard so for now getting space between him and Vanille was what he was focus on. He swung his blade, unleashing the electricity at the beast. It wasn't enough to do any major damage, but only to draw the beast's attention.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille just smiled, as usual, and nodded some. “I’d rather keep all my limbs…but it’s a nice idea.” She said wondering if you got rid of your brand…that way, would the focus still stick with you? Or would a new brand appear or something? That was something she didn’t want to test. “My own chocobo…” She repeated as her smile got a bit mischievous and she pulled back on her pace, letting Fate take the lead, even if he had no idea where he was going. “You should totally give me a piggy back ride…be a good chocobo you know? Even if im not missing any limbs…” She said quickening her pace and trying not to look up to something, because she knew after this Zinitara thing Fate would have the blades off his back and that would be her opportunity to just jump and get that piggy back ride. Shifting her eyes downward where Fate fell, Vanille squeaked a bit as she knelt down to help him but he already got up quickly, so she stood back up and looked at him almost concerned. “Are you okay…?” But he seemed perfectly fine, going on with how perfect he was. Vanille just rolled her eyes a bit as she giggled a little. “Of course. You’re absolutely perfect…” She said in agreement, true to her word as well. Although Vanille didn’t really spend much time socializing with people even way back when, she’d never met anyone like Fate, so of course he was perfect. He was nice to her, good looking, and really funny. All the best qualities she looked for…not that she really looked before now. So now, with a happy mood and a smile on her face, she skipped along and began to hum a tune. Now the battle, Having her binding rod out Vanille figured it would only be fair to let Fate have some good strikes to this beast. He didn’t really get to do anything last time and Vanille didn’t want to be a show off or anything. So she stood where she was, shifting her weight from her left leg to the right leg back and forth as Fate took his first attack, the lightning bolt getting the Zinitara’s attention. It screeched a bit and turned its attention towards Fate. Nope, Fate was going to have the majority of this battle in the bag, so now it was Vanille’s turn to be the distraction. She conjured up a few attacks of wind and water to attract the Zinitara back to her and she simply smiled, before casting a few debuffs on it, such as deprotect and deshell. It would make it a lot easier to take down…if it wasn’t in an angry mood or something. “Alright Fate! This is your time to shine!” She called over to him backing away trying to keep the beast’s attention so Fate could attack it from behind. Words: 585 Muse: Pretty Good Notes: None

"Yeah, I think it would be better if you kept both your legs... It's less creepy." He shrugged slightly. With Vanille's mischievous smile and allowing him to take the lead, Fate could not help but to wonder what it is the girl might be planning. No one's gonna hear ya scream either because ya the only two here... Well, Fate didn't believe Vanille would do anything to hurt him so he was sure he would be safe. "I should give you a piggy back ride. There's a lot of things I should do like stop speaking, but I never do," He said jokingly, "But all the other chocobos are going to be jealous of me."
Physically Fate was alright. The only thing he damaged in the fall was his pride. "I'm fine. Nothing a little therapy couldn't fix." He smiled. Well, the fall was good for a laugh. Fate was absolutely perfect? No, Fate had too many major flaws. It was still hard to believe that a girl like Vanille actually like Fate. If Vanille were to escape this whole focus thing would she still like Fate? It didn't matter, Fate was going to try to help no matter. "Gezz, you're going to make my ego bigger than it already is," He smiled.
Well, if Vanille thought Fate wanted to handle this she was completely wrong! Fate was a team player and he really didn't mind being show up by anyone. It actually meant less work for him. But Vanille seemed to be wanting him to take this one so Fate really had no choice. He rubbed the back of his head for a moment, sighing. Great... I get to fight the whatchamacallit by myself... Well, at least she had done her debuffering so this shouldn't be that hard... Hopefully.
"You sure it's my time to shine? I'm feeling pretty dull right now." He hit the hilt of the blade against his forehead, thinking to himself. There was no way for Fate to get a decisive hit since the creature could fly. This was going to be so fun... He unsheathed his second blade with a slight frown upon his face. Don't die. Fang still has to kill ya. Chances were this beast had tough skin that Fate would have trouble piercing. It was times like these were Fate did things that were extremely stupid. While Vanille had the beast distracted, Fate leaped into the air using his electricity to give him even more of a boost to be almost at the same height at the beast.
He launched to large bolts at the beast's wing to ground the beast, figuring it would be easier to get a decisive blow. He was also assumming that it would make the beast much slower if he couldn't fly.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Keeping both limbs was definitely going to happen. Unless something unfortunate happened or something weird like that, but still she planned on keeping all limbs. And smiled to the fact that she wanted a piggy back ride and all the chocobos would be jealous, she continued to have a mischievious smile on her face as she picked up her own pace to match his, deciding now wasn’t the time to leap for a piggy back ride. “Okay, so you have a point…but giving me a piggy back ride would make you the most popular chocobo…” Vanille was over the line of happy right now, until getting to the Zinitara at least. So Fate was okay? After that awesome faceplant into the ground. “Okay…if you say so…I mean, if you’re hurt or anything you should speak up. Especially since we’re going after the…whatchamacallit…er…Zinitara.” She said correcting herself but believing that Fate was alright, a little fall wouldn’t do that much damage. Speaking of Egos…was there ever a guy who walked around and DIDN’T have a huge ego? No probably not, they were all over the place. “Well…don’t let that Ego of yours get too big…you don’t want it to weigh you down.” She said skipping ahead once again, arms swaying at her sides, and humming a tune. Vanille wouldn’t let Fate handle this all on his own, she’d step in a few times, help out and what not, but she wanted to let him have the glory of this one…She got the Fal’Cie he gets…the whatchamacallit. “Fate, I have faith in you…you can do it. You’re not alone…I’m right here for help and what not. Besides…someone’s gotta be the distraction this time! And it’s not you!” She said from across the area they were on, keeping the Zinitara focused on her as it spit out almost an acid like substance which would weaken you, but Vanille just hopped out of the way as she kept provoking the beast to stay attentive on her letting Fate deal any strike he wanted to right now, and it seemed he had a good idea in mind. As the first bit of action went into play, the beast was grounded with a roar. It hit the ground so hard that it needed a moment or two to get back up. Vanille took this opportunity to attack it a little to keep it down. As she slowed the monster down from getting up her eyes glanced over to Fate to see what he would do next…just all around kill it right here and now? Or did he have a plan? Usually in a battle like this, Vanille just went with whatever was handed to her. “Got any ideas?” She called looking at the beast and inching closer a little bit at a time, wondering what more there was to do besides just ending it right here…unless it got up.
