"You're right. I'll give you a piggy back ride if we defeat this Zinithingy," He smiled, "If we don't, you have to give me a piggy back ride. Deal?" It was safe to say that Fate had got the short end of the deal. There was just no one either one of them would be defeated by this Zinitara. Fate wasn't being cocky, he was just confident in their abilities. Besides, giving piggy backs were fun. Ya never gave a piggy bac-- And you never shut up, but I bet if you do I would have so much fun. ... Jerk...
"Tch! Stupid faceplants can not defeat me. I do faceplants at least three times a day and run into walls at least twice a week." He shrugged slightly. Maybe doing faceplants were a lie, but he did travel into walls every now and then... and parked cars. CANDY MOUNTAIN!!! As Vanille hummed her little tune Fate decided he would join in as well. Since he wasn't very good at singing he just snapped his fingers and moved along to the tune. Yeah, he probably looked like an idiot, but he didn't mind. It was all about having fun. "Weigh me down? Are you trying to hint at me being fat?" He asked, "I have gained a little weight, but I didn't think anyone would notice."
"Actually you're over there, i'm right here. But i'm going to agree with you because women are always right... And i'm very good at being the distraction. Everything about me screams distraction." Did that thing just spit acid? Okay, maybe it was a good idea for Vanille to be the distraction. But now the bird had to pay! No one spat acid at his friends except him. He couldn't just like that fly... No pun intended.
It seemed that Fate's plan had worked. The beast was grounded and thanks to Vanille it was going to stay that way for a while. Fate wasn't one to drag on a fight no longer than it had to be. Also why make the beast suffer? The only question that Fate had was how would he end this creature. He wanted to make it as quick as possible... He walked over to the beast and slammed both of his blades through its head. There was two quick jerks from the beast's body before its life completely faded. Fate let out a deep sigh and pulled his blades from its head, staring at the creature to make sure it was dead.
"You don't think he had a girlfriend, right? I would hate to be chased down by a raging female whatcha--I mean Zinitara." Stabbing something in the head was always a great idea if you wanted to end a creature's life. He turned to walk toward Vanille, letting his blades drag against the ground. "Guess this means you win the bet. Just try not to hold on too tightly, you might never let go."

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille was so confident, she smiled smugly and giggled a bit before sticking out her hand to shake on this deal. “Okay, you’ve got yourself a deal…” She said her smile getting wider by the second. Defeating this Zinitara would be pretty easy right? So she was sure to get the reward…a piggy back ride. Whatever made her want one so bad…who knew? It just came to her mind and well it was a good idea…besides, she didn’t think she’d be too heavy…or worse, crush Fate. ‘I’ve got this one in the bag…’ she thought to herself with a smile as she hummed along her tune and kept going forward towards the battle ahead. “Wow…you must be used to faceplants and running into things then eh?” Vanille said, being less worried about Fate and if that fall had hurt him, which it clearly didn’t. It may have hurt his pride a bit, falling over nothing in front of your girlfriend, but that could easily be restored after this fight. “We can work on that…the running and falling over things I mean…unless you like that.” She said shrugging her shoulders a bit, not knowing what to assume about Fate anymore, he was way different than anyone she had ever met, so assumptions weren’t allowed, she’d just have to solve the mystery herself instead of guessing the outcome. Watching Fate join in her little tune, Vanille just kept it going, picking up the tempo when needed and changing the pitch in her humming when it felt right. Somehow, all the worries she had earlier seemed to fade away when she had a good moment like this, though the two weren’t talking, it was still fun and enjoyable. A walk towards a battle and creating a tune…it sounded odd, but these two weren’t exactly what you called…’normal.’ She didn’t know what was coming next but the sudden comment of Fate…getting fat, it just made her laugh. Why? It was just a spur of the moment joke and Vanille wasn’t prepared for it. “No no no! Not at all…you’re very well fit…in perfect shape I believe…I’m just saying..Ego’s weigh people down a lot…” She said with a smile coming onto the battle…here it goes! Time to win that piggy back ride! Vanille was avoiding the acid spitting and the wind attacks as she tried to keep her footing right without falling backwards. She seemed to move at the right times, attacking with a few wimpy magic attacks just to keep the beasts attention, and she certainly kept it. You could almost tell this creature was getting irritated the with cheery little L’Cie and it took one last shot of acid before Fate made his move to ground it. Vanille reached her hand out to hit the Zinitara with a cast of aero, try to and keep it from spitting more acid at her, but as she raised out her arm to cast the magic, she forgot to move and was sent into the ground. The acid had struck her but it didn’t do any fatal or serious damage to her. But then the beast was grounded, good. Vanille sat on the ground for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts before getting up to her feet, griping her binding rod tighter now that she had been susceptible to an attack. As Fate finished off the Zinitara, Vanille let out a sigh of relief, the focus was completed for that Cie’th stone and now they were safe…unless this thing really did have family around here. That wouldn’t be too good. “That was amazing Fate…you did great!” She said, as the smile returned to her face when realization came that she won this bet! Of course she was going to win. She folded her binding rod and placed it back on her sash before doing a small fist pump. “All right!” She cheered before running over and jumping on Fate’s back and wrapping her arms loosely around his neck. “I’ll owe you a piggy back ride sometime…that way it’s fair.” She grinned with a happy giggle. "Yeah, we should definitely work on those. It would also give me more time to spend with you which I know you're craving." He smiled as he nodded his head. Well, if this whole super hero team did not work out for them they could always become a musical act. Just leave the singin... And everything else to Vanille. What am I suppose to do? Stand back stage outta sight and look pretty. Whatevar she asks for ya get it. That sounds like one of those lousy assistants!
Again, what Vanille said was true. Egos do weigh you down and Fate already had to many things trying to weigh him down so he would do without the ego. "You are correct again. Big eagles do weigh you down, but i'm sure if I tame this eagle I could make myself a new flying buddeh," Fate rubbed his hands together, "That would be perfect! Then I could start the first Gran Pulse taxi company. I'll totally fly everyone around on my giant eagle's back!"
So they had complete the Cie'th Stone's focus. Whenever writing this book he would have to remember to make this battle a lot more epic. Maybe put in a few man-eating dragons. "Nah, it was all you. If you weren't distracting him I would have never got an opening to attack." As Vanille jumped on the boy's back Fate did his best not to squawk. He would say it out loud, but the girl felt heavier than she look. "Don't worry about giving me a piggy back ride. I'm fine giving them out. Just don't gain any weight because then i'll have to get some muscles and that would ruin my pretty boy image."
Fate just assumed that they had to had back to where the Cie'th Stone was in order to get to their next destination. He pressed forward to head back down the railing and to the school. "I can only imagination how amazing this place must have been five hundred years ago." Maybe after all this focus stuff they could try to fix this place up and make it look half as good as it use to be. No, no, no. After we help Vanille we're findin' Sonuske and helpin' him get home. It would be wrong not to get him home after draggin' him into the mess.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. “Alright…we can work on it some…but I think we should get back to Cocoon first…less bloodthirsty animals there…unless you count PSICOM…” Vanille said almost trailing off in thought. Going back to Cocoon wasn’t her favorite idea but Fang was there as far as she knew and apparently nothing was here that could help her out of this focus…so…why not? So long as PSICOM didn’t chase her all around that world and beyond. “Once we get back to Cocoon…we can find Fang…and then from there…I just don’t know.” She said with a slight shrug not really thinking that far ahead was probably best, Vanille didn’t even know if they’d find Fang…if she’d find Fang…who knew what was going on right at this very moment? Big Egos…or big eagles…Vanille just stood in the background pressed her hand to her forehead, almost with a slap as she rolled her eyes a bit. Oh Fate, he would never change would he? And Vanille was okay with that, she finally smiled a little letting her hands drop to her sides and resting on her hips as she listened to him speak of this giant eagle and taxi system. “Well sounds like a plan…but where do you intend to find this…giant eagle?” She said raising a brow with a slight giggle, mostly at the image she conjured up in her head…a giant eagle and Fate, it seemed impossible, but at least Fate believed in the impossible unlike…some people. “Good luck to you…if I see any giant eagles flying about I’ll be sure to let you know…”Vanille shook her head some. “No no no, it was you…believe me…you took the thing out completely…and for that…you deserve the praise…not me.” She said with a smile and placing a kiss on his cheek before she leaped for her piggy back ride…she didn’t think she weight too much. “With every task there is a reward…off to Cocoon!” She said almost raising her fist but deciding that would be a bad idea…throwing Fate off balance would be a BAD idea, so she stayed completely still, except her eyes kept blinking and looking around at the area, it looked a little different from this point of view…not that it was THAT different, perhaps it was the piggy back ride? “Ha, fine, I promise not to gain weight…wouldn’t want to mess up that pretty boy image of yours eh?”Back towards the stone they started and Vanille kept looking around at the place, imagining how she remembered it back before and how it was now. It was so worn down now…very saddening but still, at least some part of the Oerba was still intact. “Oh yes! It was amazing! The buildings were beautiful and there were flowers everywhere you looked…and Chocobos!” She said almost with a squeak, loosing herself in the memories from 500 years ago…it was a shame all this had happened…but one question still remained in her head…why had ALL the people died? Was it due to wildlife? Or…was it due to Ragnarok…cracking Cocoon’s shell and what not…had that led to the destruction of mankind on Pulse? Words: 648 Muse: Good Notes: None

"I'd rather face those PSICOM dudes then these creatures here... They seem much easier to defeat." Except when they had you outnumbered. Then you was in for a pretty decent fight. Didn't we get shot by the PSICOM dudes? Yeah, but it doesn't count because we were trying to be the hero. Totally failed at bein' a hero. The PSICOM were just doing their jobs and did not no better. Vanille's focus was to destroy Cocoon and the PSICOM could not let that happen. Still, it would have been nice if they would take the time to see that Vanille actually did not want to destroy Cocoon. "I'm sure we can find some loop hole in this focus thing. Maybe we're just loonking in the wrong places..."
"I was kinda hoping that I could magically pull one of these giant eagle out of one of my pockets.... But last time I tried that I woke up in Dollet with a huge headache," He shrugged, "It was cool though because I've always wanted to visit Dollet... It's a city back on my world, nothing special. As she placed a kiss on his cheek a slight blush fell upon the boy's face. If he was not in his right mind, he would have gone off searching for more of these Zinitaras to defeat to be rewarded. Sadly, they did not have time for that nor did Fate want to push his luck fighting these Pulse creatures. "Cocoon it is. Next objective: Find the almighty Fang... And meet my end."
"Thank you. We can't ruin this image of mine because without we can kiss my movie goodbye. The people want annoying and pretty... I don't think annoying and buff really works for me." The way Oerba was now it would take a good bit to return in back to its former glory, especially since there was no people here. But anything could be fixed with hard work and time. "I could totally use my charm and talk to chocobos into coming back... The flowers I really know nothing about so I'd leave that to the cool kids." He said, finally arriving back to the Cie'th Stone.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.PSICOM probably would be easier to take down rather than some of the beasts on Pulse. If Fate thought that Zinitara was difficult…he hadn’t seen anything yet. There were far worse creatures out there on Pulse just waiting to attack and Vanille even hadn’t seen the worst of the worst that Pulse creatures had to offer, it was almost a terrifying thought, if that day ever came that she came face to face with the biggest, baddest and toughest creature on Gran pulse…she’d want Fang with her that’s for sure. “PSICOM isn’t that talented really…at least from my point of view…they aim and shoot, that’s pretty much it.” She said with a small shrug of her shoulders as she never really thought about it. They really didn’t do much, just try to shoot you down and if they didn’t get to you…well they were SOL. At least Fate was keeping a somewhat positive outlook, which made Vanille feel a little better. Perhaps he was right, maybe Oerba didn’t hold the answers…maybe it was someplace else…someplace hidden. “Yeah, you’re probably right” she agreed with a nod. “You sure an eagle could even fit in your pocket? I mean…especially if they are giant.” She said almost with a strong look on her face ( ) as they continued their way back towards the cie’th stone. “Guess anything is possible.” Which would be nice if it was true, was it possible to rid yourself from a focus? It had never been done before so who knew? Next objective was to get to Cocoon and find Fang. Sounded good to her. “Fang won’t kill you…at least I won’t let her kill you.” She said with a comforting smile as she got her piggy back ride. “She might not be so…nice at first but she’ll warm up…eventually…I think.” Okay so maybe Fang wouldn’t be pleased but she wouldn’t inflict any physical harm on Fate…at least while Vanille was around, besides, hurting Fate would hurt Vanille and Fang wouldn’t want her upset. They both were that way…it was a sister thing, you protect the other and make sure they don’t get hurt. Vanille just kept a small happy expression on her face as they made it back to the Cie’th stone, she let her arms fall to her side as she fell back onto her feet. “Thanks for the piggy back ride…it was fun.” She said happily walking over to the stone which now sort of glowed. “If chocobos and flowers came back to Oerba…I’d probably be the happiest girl in the world.” She said then placing a hand forward on the stone and then stood back a step or two, the stone glowed even more and Vanille was amazed. This thing was actually going to work! To get them back to…Cocoon, even if it wasn’t Vanille’s favorite place in the world, it was what they needed to do. “Back to Cocoon we go!” She said before they were instantly transported to Cocoon…on the beach of Bodhum, really close to that Pulse Vestige that was nearby…a good location to start…this was where she lost Fang…so maybe she was around here? Words: 671 Muse: Good Notes: Should probably end it soon...perhaps Vanille going off to try and find fang? What do u think?
