...Forgotten Turk...
"Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none."
Cissnei slept without moving and dreamed, which she didn't do often. Probably a response in her body from the day she had gone through. She dreamed she was running, running through the snow, trying to find something. She wasn't entirely sure what, but it was something she wanted greatly. She suddenly stopped and in despair she looked here and there, trying to find it, trying to find him...who? Who was she trying to find? Crimson eyes gazed around and she felt the hope in her heart go out. She was alone...whoever she was trying to find wasn't there. She sunk to her knees in the snow and clasped her hands over her heart, alone...but then a shadowy figure came walking through the snow. Narrowing her eyes, she tried to see beyond the thick snow, but the features wouldn't become clear. And then the man was there kneeling down beside her. It was clear then, goggles, long red hair, it had been Reno she was trying to find. “I told you I'd always be there for you.” Arms wrapped around her and she opened her mouth to respond when suddenly she was pulled out of her dream, and out of sleep.
Cissnei half opened her eyes and groggily tried to get her bearings. She saw the clocks luminous numbers and blinked her eyes a few times. That was when she became aware of the warmth that she was pressed up against and her head rolled until it was pressed up against the warmth, which just happened to be Reno's shoulder. The darkness of her room was still around her and so she just sighed and eyes closed again to fall back into a very light sleep. She wasn't aware that she was being carried until she heard a voice whisper in her ear. Was she still dreaming? This time she made an effort to open her eyes a crack and saw Reno's face looking down at her. “Reno?” she reached up a hand and rubbed her eyes, she was dreaming still right? “Where are we going?” She mumbled out, still half asleep as she felt his warmth and the warmth around her.
That was when she felt the cold seep into her perfectly warm cocoon and opened her eyes wider. Had she forgotten to turn down her air conditioner? No, wait...eyes opened all the way as she realized that she was being carried by Reno and they were outside. She wiggled her socked toes and glanced up at him and then at where they were going. They were on the rooftop of the ShinRa building. Wait...why were they on the rooftop? She yawned again and that jarred her mind to thinking. Where were they going? And why was she still in her pajamas? Why was Reno carrying her? Were they on another mission? Had she not woken up in time for something? She had continued to hold her head pressed up against Reno's shoulder to keep herself warm when suddenly it dawned on her that she was laying in Reno's arms with her face pressed up against him. Even with the cold she felt a blush creep up her face as she raised her head to look around. He told her good morning and she sleepily mumbled out her own greeting. “Good morning.”
She was set down and that was when she was jarred fully awake. She glanced down at the chair she was sitting on and then at the blanket that was wrapped around her. A puzzled look appeared, and so she glanced over to make sure it was indeed Reno that was sitting beside her, a questioning look. He was sitting there smiling at her, so she couldn't help but smile back. She stifled another yawn and stretched her arms up to loosen up before realizing just how cold it was. She immediately snuggled back into her blanket cocoon and looked around her. The darkness was giving way to light, but she still didn't understand until Reno explained why they were out on the rooftop.
Cissnei blinked once to make sure she hadn't just imagined him saying that and suddenly tears came to her eyes. She blinked them away and a huge smile appeared on her face as the sun started coming up, peaking out over the horizon to signify a new day. She became aware of his arm around her and with a little sigh, leaned over until her head was once again on his shoulder. Her mussy chestnut hair got in her face a bit so she moved to brush it out of the way while at the same time looking with rapt attention the sunrise. She had seen many sunrises, but they all seemed to pale in comparison to the one that stretched out before her eyes. Blue to purple, purple to pink, pink to orange and red, her mouth came open with a little gasp as she looked at the sunrise. Eyes shone with delighted happiness as she reminded herself to breathe and tried not to blink so she wouldn't miss anything. She felt his hand and squeezed hers in response, fingers intertwining to hold onto the man that she cared for so much.
She turned her face toward him, her white teeth showing as she showed the sparkle in her entire body as she happily drank in his face. He had done something so great for her she almost felt like crying, but she was smiling instead. That was when the intensity of his eyes captivated her, and then she realized that he was coming closer. Her eyes got wider, but she leaned toward him, butterflies started in her stomach as his lips touched hers. Her eyes closed and arms instinctively reached up to go around his neck. When he pulled away her eyes were shining and she was smiling, reflecting the sunshine that glowed around them. She laughed at what he said and laid her head on his chest, “Thank you...” Was all she said in response before peeking back out at the sun...the future was bright...
