...Quiet Warrior..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." While writing up what had happened with the guy they had captured Cissnei tried not to think about her nerves or the fact that she was probably going to have to go shopping the entire day to find a dress. Suddenly she wanted to know how the mission Rude, Elena and Tseng had gone on with had gone. Slipping her file into the necessary compartment, she found the paper with Tseng’s perfect handwriting and pulled it out. Ahh, being a Turk and having access to the highest level of clearance. It really was nice; to be able to read anything you wanted to. They still had files from before she was born.
Skimming it she saw that nothing eventful had happened. The place had been clean of any traces of Hojo as the president had thought might be there. She didn’t feel so guilty about leaving them for ice cream then. Suddenly she remembered how Reno had looked, with the silly grin as he ran backwards and hit into the wall. She chuckled and put a hand over her mouth to try to contain it, but that didn’t work. The look on his face when he had smacked into the wall had been priceless. One reason to buy a camera!
What was maybe the funniest was that all Turks were pretty well off when it came to money. They got pretty large paychecks. Plus what did they have to spend the money on? Not a house, or property, or kids, or food for the most part, or even a dog. What was ironic was that her real dream was for a house in the country with a family and a pet. Maybe wishing for the thing she hadn’t really ever had? She shook her thoughts off that, thankful now that she had money saved, how much did it cost to go shopping?
Finally ready, she stuffed the file back where it belonged and took her leave. Catching up her phone she put her money in her pocket and went from there, wondering slightly why she never used a purse. Why was she suddenly thinking like a girl? She knew the reason; one couldn’t fight and hold onto a purse. Still, maybe she should have one for a day like this. She was well aware of the fact that she was wearing her suit to go shopping…oh well. At least she could still bring a weapon out into the public. A gun in a shoulder holster was something no one would suspect.
When she finally managed to find herself at one of the many malls in Edge, Cissnei took a deep breath and held it. How long had it been since she had gone shopping? And now she was going dress shopping? She almost turned around and went back to ShinRa then. She was NOT going shopping. No way was that happening. But then she pictured herself wearing her suit on a date and found herself marching up to the mall. When she got inside she took a deep breath and made her way to the first store she could see that held dresses.
Walking in, she was immersed with dresses in a second and her head was swimming with how many there were. Grabbing 10 off the rack, Cissnei decided it was a start. The saleslady took one look at her suit and looked ready to faint. Obviously she didn’t approve of suits? Well to bad, that’s what she was wearing. The woman obviously brightened when Cissnei asked if she could help her by bringing her dresses. Now to try them on!
So she put on the first dress. It went downhill from there. Every time she tried one on she had a different excuse as to why she didn’t like it. Too short, Oh my god I think I can see my underwear when I sit down! too long! I’m not a nun sheesh… Too low on top, Holy crap how to girls wear this and not…fall out? Too colorful, oh lord I’m not going to the Bahamas! Too frilly, too polka doted, too striped, too…Is that bedazzled?! Too feathery, too sparkly, too poofy. Every dress the women brought her seemed to be getting worse and worse. Did girls actually wear this stuff? She groaned, the headache seemed to be intensifying.
After what seemed to be hours Cissnei had finally decided to give up. Helping put all the dresses back, she was putting a dress back when suddenly she saw it. Her eyes lit up as she grabbed it and saw that it was in her size. She prayed it looked as good on her as it did off her. She went to the dressing room and put the dress on, hoping it fit and everything looked good. Walking out she went to go look at the large mirror. She gasped when she saw it and was immediately buying it in her mind. Pure white, there was a pink ribbon tied through right below the chest. Fitting snugly on her chest and waist, it flared out at the hips and reached to right above the knee. She smiled, finally done with dress shopping!
On her way out she saw in the glass a pair of heels that would have any woman wanting it. Going in, she couldn’t believe that the only pair left was in her size. Never mind the fact that she had tiny feet and that size probably never sold. A brighter pink, they matched the color of the ribbon on the dress and had white buttons on each of the shoes, completing her outfit. Exhausted, she made her way outside and gulped in the sunshine. Thank god she was done with that! Her horror in trying on all those dresses was over. She felt like putting her arms in the air and screaming hallelujah. Instead she just smiled.
Getting back to ShinRa, she walked as fast as she could to her apartment. Going in, she laid her purchases on the bed and smiled. Cissnei hoped she looked pretty when she finally got dressed. Collapsing on her bed with her clothes, she wondered how women did that all the time. She was exhausted, something she usually wasn’t, even with a full day of missions. After a few minutes she got up with a stretch and yawn. Now, looking in a mirror she tried to picture how she should do her hair. Putting on some music and placing her phone right beside her, she started playing with her hair. Glaring at it, she now wished she had done it more often, maybe then she wouldn’t be so lost.
She finally managed to do it in a cute updo. She had taken the top parts of her hair and twisted it back. It was held with bobby pins and looked like she had put part of her hair in a pony tail. Happy with that, she looked at her phone and her eyes widened when she realized how late it was. Almost 5, Reno might be coming soon, not that he had told her when they were going to go. Still, she went to put on her dress and put on a little bit of the other purchase she had made. She hadn’t tried it in a long time…but well…here goes… Opening the mascara container, Cissnei put a little bit on, framing her eyes more. Smiling, she was satisfied, except that she wished she had pretty eyes once again. Oh well, can’t change that…

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Back in his own room, Reno was going through everything he owned and just about threw a fit. Suits suits and more SUITS!!!!!! Did Turks EVER switch it up? No. He was just going to have to improvise or something. He sat on his floor in his closet and held some articles of clothing in his hands, others spread across his lap. With a slam of his fist on the ground and a giant grin on his face, he found something…something to switch it up a little bit, but he would need Rude’s help for the most shocking part. With success finally in his hands, Reno stood up and took off his jacket and made sure his white formal shirt was nice and neat, but never buttoned up all the way as usual, just a button or two undone. After that was settled he put on a pair of black dress pants, better than that blueish shade he wore. With that he put on a button vest, and buttoned it up. He looked at himself in the mirror and groaned as his palm flew to his forehead. “I look like a NERD!” He complained to himself in the mirror before flapping the collar of his white shirt out some and rolling up the sleeves to about his elbow. He shoved his hands in his pocket and tried to look cool in front of the mirror with a calm and tough guy expression, and he figured this was good enough…except for the finishing touch. Reno walked across his room towards his closet and picked up the black tie he had thrown the night before after nearly killing himself turning it into a noose and he straightened it out before walking out of his room looking all nice. “Rude!!” He called. Oh dear, what looks would he get today from Rude? A scowl maybe? It was worth a shot, if Rude didn’t help him, then he’d go to Tseng, if not Tseng, well then screw the tie, he looked pretty good as it was. The tie was just the cherry on top of everything…he wanted to look very nice and he did. After the tie situation got handled Reno strolled his way back to his room. Putting the ring he bought earlier in his pocket and making sure his hair looked nice as usual. It was fluffy and bright as ever today, that was nice. He looked over at his clock as he started making poses again just to see how good he looked and almost flipped out. He forgot to tell Cissnei what time they would go, he was planning around 5:30, to try and beat out the traffic and stuff at restaurants, but was she even ready to go? Reno quickly flipped the lights in his room and ran out with a jacket in his hand as he ran down the hall as quickly and quietly as ever. He didn’t need to attract even MORE attention to himself today. Being winded Reno rested his hands on his knees as he arrived to Cissnei’s room minutes later. One good thing about being fast, you could get from point A to point B really quickly. After a moment of catching his breath, even with a few more deep breaths Reno raised his fist and hesitated before knocking on her door a few times. “Cissnei? Are you in there?” He asked before pressing his ear to the door to hear if there was anything coming from inside, she might not have been there...if she wasn’t here, where was she? While waiting for some sort of reply, Reno straightened his vest and shirt, making sure he looked dashing as ever just so Cissnei would be surprised to see him not wearing a suit or goggles on his forehead. Words: 712 Muse: Fantastic! Notes: Its so much shorter! but still good i think...SO CLOSE!

...Quiet Warrior..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." After spending way to much time on her hair she finally got it to look like what she wanted it to. Today she had saw a girl with this same hairstyle except she was blonde and it had looked great. Luckily she could accomplish it without a curling iron or she would be nursing burnt fingers right about now. With a little time to spare Cissnei cleaned up her room and got fidgety. What was she supposed to do while she waited? Suddenly she had an idea. She dug in the bottom of her drawer and found what she was looking for. Her little apartment was in chaos since she had just moved back in. She did manage to find what she was looking for.
So she set out to paint her finger and toe nails while humming to herself. She was getting more and more nervous as the time went by. She waved her hands through the air to dry them as she hummed more and wandered around, trying to take her mind off the evening that would follow. “Knowing my luck we’ll just get to where we’re going and Tseng will call about some emergency.” She liked Tseng, but if he did that to her tonight of all nights she just might kill him. Thankfully she hadn’t run into Rude or Elena today maybe that was a good thing…
Was Reno going to just be wearing his usually suit and goggles? Suddenly she looked down at her dress and wished she wasn’t so dressed up. Its going to be horrible, I’m going to be way over dressed, he’s gonna tease me about what I’m wearing and on top of it all I’m still a mini mouse! A groan escaped her lips and she suddenly rushed over to her closet. She was rooting through to see what else she could wear when she heard a knock on the door. “Blast it all.” She yelped as she whipped around and tripped over a pair of pants that she had thrown to the floor. Almost falling down, she managed to catch herself on the bed and straiten up. Whew, that was close
Another groan, no time to change now. She thought glumly. She was just going to have to laugh with him when he teased her and try to make it through the evening without fainting or making a bigger fool out of herself then she already had. “Just a sec!” She yelled and slipped on the new heels she had bought. Taking one last glance in the mirror she gulped down her apprehension and took a deep breath, trying to calm her skittering nerves. At least she was a few inches taller with the heels. Maybe she would wear them all the time! Then she wouldn’t be quite so short…
Trying to shove those thoughts aside, she picked up the purse she had bought out of a whim and biting her lip, she opened the door. Mouth was dry with apprehension, were dates supposed to always be this nerve-racking? Reno caught her gaze as he stood there looking so handsome her jaw almost dropped again. She took it all in but still couldn’t believe it. Where were his goggles? And a tie?? She didn’t think she had ever seen him wearing a tie. She didn’t think he even owned one. And no suit coat, a vest with his sleeves rolled up. She was so glad she had dressed up! Cissnei was so relieved she hadn’t had time to change; she would have felt like a fool then.
Not that she didn’t feel like a fool now. She hadn’t dressed up like this since…since…forever. Literally. Turk didn’t dress up in anything more then a suit at all times. And she hadn’t gone to any formal occasion while she was away. She had actually not done much of any friend making while in the real world. Not that people had been unfriendly, but she, being so used to being a Turk and caught up with just trying to survive in a world she didn’t know, hadn’t bothered accepting the friendship of anyone.
She had meant to be calm and collected, making it seem like she did this all the time. Instead she blurted out the first thing she could think of, “You’re wearing a tie!” Then she noticed her slip and tried to smile, “I mean, it looks great, I just…didn’t know you had a tie…” She finally managed to get out. If he looked that good all night she wasn’t going to be able to concentrate. Enough! she chided herself, snap out of it before you make yourself look like the biggest fool ever. “You look great!” She then said enthusiastically, a little less nervous with the pep talk she had given herself.
Now if only she could will herself to stop babbling and not blush the entire evening and they would be doing good. Not that that would ever happen, but it was a lovely thought. She suddenly wondered if she had been blind all those years of being a Turk. Truly, how had she not noticed Reno before this? Or maybe he had grown more good looking while she was away?
Words: 1004 Muse: Amazing Notes: I laughed a ton at your post! AHHHH *Screams* I CANNOT WAIIIIIT!!!!!!

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno was having second thoughts on his attire. Did he look too much like a…a…nerd? The vest and the looking nice stuff? No goggles, and a tie! He was a total dork, at least he thought he looked that way. One of those…smart people or something like that, not that he was stupid or anything, he just…had his moments, like last night, running into a wall backwards. Either way…maybe looking smarter and more sophisticated would make Cissnei not think of his as just a big dummie or something. That was always a bonus. As Reno waited outside Cissnei’s door, hearing her shout a ‘just a sec’ he sighed. At least she was in there and not somewhere else, that way Reno didn’t have to search all over for her. Silently tapping his foot outside the door he gulped a bit as he started to feel his nerves come on. He pulled at the collar of his shirt, more at the tie which wasn’t very comfortable since he wasn’t used to it, but it was going to stay. Reno was starting to second guess himself, once again. What if Cissnei was in her work outfit…oh would this be an embarrassment for him, all dressed up and looking nice, even with cologne! Reno thought he looked pretty sharp tonight, but…he’d let Cissnei decide that. From outside he started to whistle, hearing a thud from inside, Cissnei falling, and that cut his whistling off…he paused a second while things were silent and began up his random tune once again, knowing she would be alright, probably tripped over the flat surface. Finally the door opened and Reno just about flipped out. Cissnei was wearing a beautiful white dress with a pink ribbon, her hair was amazing like she had it done…all and all she looked so stunning. No Minnie mouse to him! Reno stood there, his mouth open a bit as he looked Cissnei up and down. His eyes were completely locked on her, she was just so…words couldn’t even describe. When she mentioned him wearing a tie, he came back to reality. “Oh yeah. It’s amazing right? I found it in the back of my closet.” He said tugging on the top a bit with a nervous chuckle as she complimented him. “Thanks Ciss…you look…absolutely stunning.” He said honestly as he looked her over once more, his eyes locking on hers. She was just so amazing, personality, looks everything. She had it all. “Well if you’re ready…we should probably hit the road…the place isn’t far, so I figured we’d walk…no sense in taking the helicopter, wouldn’t want to mess up your hair…you did such a good job on it.” Reno said with a small chuckle. “Now I can’t ruffle it…I’d feel bad.” His chuckle got a bit louder as they left for dinner. It being December and winter, it was already dark out by the time they left, or at least almost pitch black, the air was cold and the walk wasn’t too long. Out on the streets you could see your breath it was that cold. Reno had the jacket he ran with slung over his arm. He looked at Cissnei…in a dress. She must be cold and without thinking he took the jacket, eased up on his pace and placed the jacket around her shoulders. “Here you go…you must be cold.” He said with a warm smile, he was a bit chilly but nothing too bad, his sleeves still rolled up to his elbows but he was content. “So I really hope you enjoy tonight…you don’t know how much…trouble I went through for this.” His grin widened as he spotted a white flake fall in front of his face before a few more giant ones fell…and even more. Snow. Wonderful. Stopping on the sidewalk Reno looked up just to have snowflakes fall and catch in his red hair, he smiled a bit…this seemed like the perfect moment to pull out this ring that was burning through his pocket. Under one of the streetlights Reno turned to Cissnei and looked her in the eyes. “Okay, before we go any further…I have something to tell…and kind of ask you.” He said with a sparkle in his eyes. Tis the season. After a moment of just smiling Reno dug his hand in his pocket and pulled out a little white box and knelt on one knee. No this wasn’t a proposal, but it was bound to give Cissnei a heart attack. He smiled for a moment before opening the box and not letting Cissnei try to rebuttal what looked like a marriage proposal. Before she got a chance to talk Reno cut off anything she might even be THINKING to say. “Cissnei…listen to me. No this is not a wedding ring. It’s a promise ring.” He said glancing his eyes down at the silver ring in the box. A heart shaped figure on it with 3 diamonds on it, all real completely. “If you accept, this ring will symbolize my promise to you to be true. To never pressure you to do anything more than kiss. To listen to your problems. To tell you when you have food in your teeth or eye gunk. To come over to your room whenever you need something super heavy moved around. I promise to make you feel proud when you point down the hall and say, ‘That dude’s my boyfriend.’ I promise to do all of those things… without ever trying to sound like Matthew McConaughey. You're a great Turk, but you're an even better individual...you're pretty, smart, and everything a guy could ask for. You're amazing, just the way you are. I really care about you, Cissnei, and I want us to be together.” He said with the best smile he could possibly pull off. The snow was steady as he stayed where he was, still cold, but waiting for her response…if she had one that is. This was exactly the perfect moment to pop this out…he knew it in his gut this was the right thing to do. Words: 1176 Muse: you have no idea how excellent this was! Notes: Sorry if i kinda used Ciss a bit...idk if i did, but sorry if i did >_> anyways. I tried to make this as romantic and mushy as possible <3

...Quiet Warrior..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." She seriously hoped that he hadn’t heard her when she had been banging around from almost falling. How embarrassing would that have been? She could almost feel the heat creeping up her neck at the thought. She smiled when he mentioned that it was in the back of his closet. Of course, but he must have been really serious to actually pull it out. She couldn’t remember ever seeing Reno in a tie. Suddenly shy again, she hoped he wouldn’t say anything horrible about her outfit. She had almost died of brain overload while shopping for it! Ok so that was dramatic, but it hadn’t been a fun experience.
Suddenly a smell caught her attention. It was all she could do not to lean in and sniff Reno once she distinguished the scent. Cologne? Who was this new Reno? Odd that the song sharp dressed man came into her mind. When he said stunning the smile that lit her face was…well…radiant might be a cliché, but it was the word that fit. “Thank you.” She said a bit breathlessly, at the same time chiding herself for acting like such a fool. When his eyes met hers her heart accelerated.
Back to mean ol’ reality. Shoot, she could have looked into his eyes forever. When he said they would walk she nodded, still somewhat lost in the trance he had put her in. She was actually touched with his thoughtfulness; he had actually noticed her hair? That mere fact was enough to send her into another fit of rapid heartbeats. After all, what man actually noticed a girl’s hair? She laughed along with him, “Better not ruffle it or I’ll kick you, maybe use some of those moves you used last night.”
When they walked out into the night air she suddenly realized just how thin her clothes were. She had thought they would be taking a car or something, so she hadn’t dressed for the cold. Darn, another thing she had done wrong. But she didn’t want to turn around and go find something, so she would just have to stick it out. Trying to keep herself from chattering was demanding all of her attention at the moment as they made their way down the sidewalk. She almost groaned, no wonder she never dressed up, every time she did something went wrong. Like she forgot it was DECEMBER! And the shoes! Cute but deadly. The wind seemed set on making her into an icicle.
That’s when something warm settled over her shoulders. She looked up to see that Reno had just laid his jacket over her shoulders. Wow it was warm! But she looked up at him and almost melted into a puddle at his smile. “Th…thank you…” She breathed out before smiling back, her look a little bit sheepish. “I guess I wasn’t thinking about the cold weather when I bought this outfit today…” She trailed off when she noticed now he only had a shirt on. “But aren’t you going to be cold?” Her eyes were concerned as she watched him. That’s the exact moment she realized the suit coat smelled like him. Not in a bad way, just more musky…and the cologne he was wearing smelled nice. So this is what he would have smelled like if she had buried her nose in his chest and inhaled back in ShinRa…
She felt herself warm up, or maybe her heart warm up when he said that he wanted her to enjoy the night. She gave him a smile, “I’m already enjoying it!” That part was spoken enthusiastically, her hurting feet, the chilly night air were forgotten. Her breath caught in her throat when she saw the snowflakes start to fall. It was almost magical, was this the first snow of winter? She smiled and in a burst of childish pleasure stuck out her tongue to catch a snowflake on it. She smiled and then realized that Reno was now talking to her.
She turned to face him, her happy, dancing eyes catching his own. The streetlights shone down on them and for a few seconds she just breathed and smiled up at him. She cocked her head when he said he had something to tell her. “You’re not ditching me are yo-?” Her voice trailed off when he knelt to a knee. All teasing fun died out from her face, replaced by sheer wonder and amazement. She took a startled step back and her jaw dropped open when she saw a box…a little box. Was that a ring box?! She was still standing there with her mouth open in a perfect oval, eyes wide and totally frozen as he started talking. She felt lightheaded and dizzy as she watched in slow motion his mouth start to move, explaining. She felt a little like fainting.
When he explained she got a little bit of her sanity back, although not much. He started talking and only a few lines in tears started forming in the corners of her eyes. But not sad tears, no, these were tears from her being happier then she had been in a long time. The hands that had been in pockets slowly withdrew and crept up to rest over her mouth while she battled the tears that had collected in her eyes. She forgot to breath and just held it in her chest while he talked, scared that she was going to miss a single word that he told her.
After he was done she continued to stand there staring at him, tears blurring her eyes as she ran his words through her head again and again. He wanted to be her boyfriend! What he had said meant more to her then anything else he could have said. She suddenly remembered to breathe and her shocked oval of a face was transformed with a smile that showed every one of her white teeth. Yet she remained frozen there, looking down at him (For once lol) eye wide and misty as she tried to get a hold of herself. Responding might be a good idea, but she remained motionless for what seemed like forever. Finally she moved the movement was a head that nodded up and down furiously and hands that finally moved to expose her smile.
Eyes twinkled through the tears as the snow settled down around them. Her eyes went from the beautiful ring he held in his hands to his face as he watched her. “Oh Reno!” She burst out and ran the few steps toward him. She leaned down and wrapped her arms around his neck, not bothering to hide her happiness. He was warm as she pressed up against him to hug him. “It’s so beautiful!” She whispered into his ear, “I can’t believe you asked me! Am I dreaming?” She asked, still a little bit dazed as she drew back enough to look at his eyes. “I will always be proud to tell people you’re my boyfriend, you make me so happy sometimes I do really think I’m dreaming.” She smiled before bursting out, “Please tell me I’m not dreaming…” How could anyone get more perfect then Reno was? Her eyes looked into his and found herself forgetting where they were or that it was freezing outside. All she saw was Reno…

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno hoped all of the things he did for this wasn’t too much…the tie, the lack of goggles, the…cologne. Was it all too much? Reno thought so, feeling like some retard in a ‘close enough to be a monkey suit’ He just sighed to himself as Cissnei appeared and then he tried to straighten himself out, trying to be suave and what not. She seemed to be happy with his compliments, the smile on her face said it all. He was succeeding alright! It made him feel good. “You’re welcome. You deserve the compliments…I mean, well…I guess I cant think of any more words I can say that can top stunning without sounding like…a dictionary.” He shrugged a bit with a sniff, oh god, the cologne, had he put on too much? He was turning into such a girl right now, worrying about how he looked…and everything it was horrible…or he really really wanted to impress Cissnei. Reno chuckled when she said she would kick him if he ruffled her hair. “Don’t worry Ciss, I wouldn’t be that mean…besides, even if I did…I’d still be able to get away with it.” He said putting on a charming grin to match his comment. Reno looking innocent enough to get out of something was a long shot, but maybe not with Cissnei, not that he would mess up her hair or anything, he just always joked around with her like that, even if he was as nervous as he was right now. It was rather chilly outside, you could see your breath when you breathed, but that didn’t bother Reno, he wasn’t very cold even with rolled up sleeves and what not, but Cissnei, should be freezing, so he just gave her his jacket hoping it would help block some of the cold December air. He smirked a bit. “You’re welcome…” and then he listened to her about shopping and she asked if he was going to get cold. He waved his hand a bit. “Nah, I’m perfectly fine. It could be a lot worse, don’t you worry about me. You need the jacket more than I do.” He kept a smile on his face this whole time, almost too happy, it was a bit abnormal, even for Reno. He’d never been so happy in his life, never, and there were a lot of moments he had to choose from, this one just topped the charts. The snowflakes that started to fall screamed at Reno that this was the best time to say something to Cissnei, something that involved that ring he bought earlier today. He figured it was a good enough time, he’d seen guys do this sort of thing in movies, so he tried his best to replicate it, except add his own little Reno twist on it. As Cissnei tried to assume what he was going to say he chuckled a bit. “No im not going to ditch you…though im afraid you will ditch me.” With that he took a deep breath and went into his awesome almost speech-like moment. Every word he said, every line stated, that was all him. Nothing was rehearsed or copied, it all came from Reno, right on the spot just making it up as he went along…that was how he wanted it. So he knew exactly how he felt at this exact moment. Nothing fake about it. He just hoped Cissnei thought it was great enough. Reno watched Cissnei’s face, she didn’t seem embarrassed or anything, and she didn’t seem like she wanted to hit him, so that was good. In fact he watched the tears well up in the corners of her eyes, and his thoughts never went negative, he felt too good about this to even think about a negative response. It all seemed to fall into place once she covered her mouth his her hands. This was it, Reno was prepared for Cissnei to either A) start crying, or B) Tackle him. As the silence started to make Reno a bit antsy he was just…just waiting to see what type of reaction he would get, that wasn’t silent at least. Had he made Cissnei speechless? Nah, there was definitely something coming, he felt it. And then it came. Reno was caught a little bit off guard as Cissnei practically flew at him and wrapped her arms around his neck. He stayed down a bit so she didn’t feel so short, and so he could hear her talk, but this was all worth it. Reno had the ring box in one hand and wrapped his free arm around her back lightly as she got all convinced she was dreaming. He chuckled a little bit, letting her speak all she wanted to before he interrupted later. Again with the dreaming thing eh? Reno just smiled as he continued to hug her, it definitely made up for the fact that it was well…REALLY cold outside. “If you really think you’re dreaming…I could always pinch you.” He said using his free arm to lightly pinch her arm. “Still thinking you are dreaming Ciss?” He said softly before pulling away slightly and freeing his arms before looking down at the box in his hand and pulling off the ring. He snapped the box shut and put it in his pocket once again, but ringless. This was the moment he had been waiting for. Being able to place this ring on Cissnei’s finger, this was what he truly figured would be the best part of the night. Reno took in a breath again, still sort of nervous though he wasn’t as bad as he was before. With a little more calmed nerves, he grabbed Cissnei’s right hand, so no one could confuse it with an engagement ring or something and get LOTS of questions around ShinRa, but he slid the ring on her ring finger or her right hand and then let her hand go before standing up. “You don’t know how happy I am right at this very second…I don’t think my ego could get any bigger adding a great girl to it.” He grinned wide as he grabbed her hand then. “We should probably get going though…I made reservations this morning and they didn’t seem very nice about waiting on people to get their table.”Words: 1171 Muse: WAHHH!!! ...Quiet Warrior..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." A dictionary? She laughed at that. Oh forever Reno, he wouldn’t every change. Luckily that was alright with her because she liked him just the way he was. “Oh no you wouldn’t be able to get away with…” Of course that didn’t stop her from wanting to tackle Reno and…force him to…to…her trail of thought completely disintegrated when he smiled. She tried to remember what she had been thinking about before, but only succeeded in smiling back and agreeing that he could get away with it. Darn him and his ability to get her to completely turn into a puddle of mush. She ended up mumbling her agreement, “Fine, ok you win you could get away with anything…”
She remembered her concern for his warmth and chewed her bottom lip. She considered asking if he wanted so share, but that would be impossible and it made her blush furiously. She was enveloped in the warmth; she might be able to fit two of her in the jacket. She raised a brow when he said that he would be fine and that she needed it more. “Ok if you say so, although I still think you’re going to get way to cold.” But she didn’t think too much about it after that. She was way to deliriously happy to think about anything bad. She had the sudden urge to skip. She decided against it though, skipping in heels wasn’t that good of an idea.
Knowing her she would fall on her face and get a bloody nose. Yeah, she definitely was not going to skip! She opened her mouth to tell him she wouldn’t ever ditch him when he started with a long speech. Really she was stunned by what he had said. In a good way of course. No one had ever said anything so sweet that had made her want to cry before in her life. She was used to being strong; at least when it came to not showing every emotion you were feeling. And she was used to kind of just being one of the guys. This made her feel so…pretty. She hadn’t really ever felt that way before, but she had to admit she liked it a lot.
When she finally got a hold of herself, at least slightly, she ran into his arms and hugged him tightly. His warmth made her feel even more content as she stayed right there for several moments. She giggled when he said that he could pinch her. He asked her if she thought she was dreaming still. Her eyes danced and she watched somewhat in a trance as he pulled the ring out and closed the box again. “I must not be, but if I am I hope I never wake up.” She said happily, her thoughts still somewhat scattered. They were rushing from here to there and then back again, but they all seemed to settle as he took her right hand and slipped the ring on. How had he guessed her size?
She brought her hand up to look at the ring as he stood up, so much taller then her once again. Her eyes were drawn to the tiny hearts that matched on the ring; the sparkling diamonds caught her eye. Reno must have paid a fortune for it! She could hardly breathe as she took in completely what had just happened. Reno had just asked her to be his girlfriend. It sparkled there on her finger, showing her that it truly wasn’t a dream. Yes, the best dream of her life had actually been reality!
She smiled up at him then again, she hadn’t been this happy in…forever? She was probably going to blow this moment by forgetting to breathe, fainting and then having to go to the emergency room. Hopefully that wouldn’t happen. She didn’t know how happy HE was? Had he any idea how thrilled she was at the moment? If she were any bubblier by nature she would be screaming her lungs out and running around. But she laughed, “Your ego gets bigger by the moment, don’t lie.” She couldn’t resist that, teasing him. When he reached for her hand she slipped hers into his.
“Wouldn’t want to get yelled at now would we?” She said with a content little sigh as she walked close to him, her hand enveloped in his. What more could any girl want? She walked alongside him. Thankfully he didn’t walk mega fast because she didn’t know if she could keep up in her heels. She raised her hand to look at it again and smiled. “I love it Reno.” She said again and looked up at him. Cissnei then turned her attention back on the snowflakes that were falling around them. “I love it when it snows; it’s so clean and pretty…” She stopped talking and caught another snowflake with her tongue. There was just something extremely romantic about snow. Suddenly she turned her head to look at Reno. “I didn’t know you were such a hopeless romantic Reno.” She said teasingly, although she was somewhat serious as well. “If I had known you could be so romantic I would have dressed up before this…”
She wondered where they were going. Part of her wanted to get there since she was starving, but the other part of her wished they could stay like this forever. Walking through the snow with nothing worrying them, holding hands and smiling. No missions, no Turk business, no interrogation, no weapon usage, just two people going on a date. She couldn't believe Reno had asked her to be his girlfriend! Out of all the women in the world he thought SHE was pretty. She almost couldn't believe it.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno just laughed when she admitted he could get away with anything. He just kept smiling at her, trying to look so innocent it almost made him look guilty of something. Anything! “So I can get away with everything….is it my….DAZZLING smile?” He said raising his eyebrow and trying to make his smile even more dazzling than before, oh he was trying to get her to blush. It made him think that he actually had what it took to be her boyfriend, which he figured he had that in the bag already. Over confidence could only get you so far…but so far it was really working in Reno’s favor. “Ha, im just kidding. Im sure you’d lay the smack down if I really did something mean or embarrassing.” He said with a less charming smile trying to unboost his ego. Her concern for his warmth was nice, but he shook it off. Sure he was a little chilly, but any man could handle a few goosebumps right? It was Cissnei who needed to be warm and toasty, not him. “Thanks, but like I said. I’m fine. You just stay warm.” He said with a smile, there wasn’t a time this evening that he wasn’t smiling, even if he felt nervous and sick at the same time, he always smiled. Keeping a slower pace because Cissnei was indeed wearing heals he didn’t want to rush her, besides, they should take the time and enjoy this walk, this time together, it was the time before Reno spilled his guts and she could either laugh at him or well…accept it. So absorbing the romantic moment was best. Especially after Cissnei accepted his promise ring. With the happy moment growing even better every second, Reno kept his one free arm wrapped around Cissnei. “If this is a dream…well thankfully its not. Reality may suck at times, but this…I can live with.” He said with a few confirming nods and placing the ring on her finger. Again, that was his favorite part so far, just knowing that that ring was on her finger, it made him happy. To know that she accepted him as her boyfriend and that his mark to leave on her. To know that she was his, and he was hers. After looking at her his eyes glanced at the ring as she brought her hand up to look at it herself. “It matches anything right? I’m not a big jewelry geek or anything…I picked the one I thought you would like best…as for ring size…I took a wild guess.” He admitted sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. “If it’s too tight or too loose we can resize it.”Now that made him laugh, talking of his already oversized ego. “Haha, you bet. And adding you to it…im not sure both me and my ego can fit in the restaurant….though I’m sure I can tone it down…just this once.” He said nudging her in the arm a bit trying to be funny and romantic at the same time without sounding stupid was a challenge, but Reno was kicking butt tonight. Holding hands, that was the first step, and he was going to take it as slow as Cissnei wanted it to go. He didn’t feel the need nor did he want to rush things with her, he would go at her pace and whatever she decided was fine by him. If they held hands for the next 5 months…then so be it. All that mattered was that she wore the ring…symbolizing them as a couple. The time was slipping away quicker than Reno thought. If only this moment could last a lifetime. He nodded some as they headed off to the restaurant. It was an elegant place for fine dining and great dates. Reno figured it was the ideal place to go. Walking up to the doors of the restaurant, a greeter held open the door, dressed in a nice uniform and smiling. “Right on time eh?” He said with a smile as he nodded at the greeter as she said hello and asked for their reservation. “I called ahead…I have a reservation for two under Sinclair…” He stated in the front of the room as he looked back at Cissnei and the ring. “I’m glad you love it…” Although he delayed his response, he meant it. He hadn’t ignored her, he was just too happy in his own little thoughts to think of anything to say. Hopeless romantic? Reno had to laugh at that as the greeter was checking on their table. “Well I guess I didn’t know I was either…it just sort of came along once you got here…” Reno grinned as the greeter came back and showed them to their table. A nice booth in the corner of the restaurant, a more private area with candles on the table and everything. Reno really outdid himself today. And he knew it…his paycheck certainly knew it too, but that didn’t matter. He’d give up a thousand paychecks for a night like this. “I hope this place is okay…I’ve never been here before but it certainly looked promising. Order whatever you want…this one’s on me. Even though I remember saying you had to pay at the most expensive place.” He teased with a grin as he sat across from her. This nice was so perfect…it did seem like a dream…but with all this luck Reno was getting now…something was sure to go wrong. He’d spill something or Tseng would call…something was up, and he had that horrible feeling in his gut as the night just got better and better…what could it be? Words: 1068 Muse: super great! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." She was seconds away from…doing…darn it he was making her loose her thoughts again! How come it was that he could make her instantly have scrambled brains? “I never should have told you about your dazzling smile should I have?” She burst out, a little bit mortified and yet happy at the same time. She had to keep reminding herself that Reno was her boyfriend now and that she didn’t have to be horrified if he knew she liked him. Yet she still thought it might not be reality. She kept stealing little glanced at him to make sure it was still Reno. “Oh yes, smack down, are you sure you wanna keep teaching me martial arts?” She said a little bit sassily, her eyebrows arched high as she watched his reaction to that.
She rolled her eyes slightly at him. Men. Did they ever actually admit that they might be cold or something? But at the same time she snuggled into his jacket and praised her luck at having a boyfriend that actually thought about things like these. She was sure ninty nine percent of the population of men didn’t give a darn about their girlfriend’s needs or the fact that they might be cold while they themselves were nice and toasty. So she just nodded and walked by him, holding his hand. She felt like singing, dancing and twirling on the tips of her toes all at the same time. Or maybe running up to someone she didn’t know, pointing to Reno and shouting at them that he was hers.
It was such a good feeling. To know that you had someone that cared about you. She was enjoying just walking with him. Although she was warm, this probably wasn’t the case for Reno though. He was probably freezing. She leaned her head against his shoulder and smiling, said quietly, “I can live with this too…” She glanced at it as Reno asked if it was ok and if it matched. She wasn’t that big of ‘jewlery geek’ either, but to her it was just about the prettiest ring she had ever seen. It meant the world to her just because it had been Reno that had gave her the ring.
Smiling up at him she had the sudden urge to kiss him. Her eyes widened at that thought and she quickly dropped her head again, focusing on the ring to keep those crazy thoughts out of her head. “Stop worrying; it’s probably the prettiest ring I’ve ever seen. And you guessed right, it fits perfectly.” She only spoke the truth; it meant the world to her. Every time she looked at it she felt herself grinning like a fool. It felt good to know someone thought she was special. She hadn’t ever felt special before tonight.
She burst out in a fit of laughter when he made the crack about his ego. She put her hand over her mouth to tone down the laugher and continued to snicker. Finally she managed to stop and looked at him. “Reno how do you come up with all your jokes?” She loved him when he joked. Not that she didn’t…wait, had she just said the world love? She was mortified again, but thankfully Reno couldn’t get in her mind. One place she was safe! And it was a good thing to, because as of lately she was thinking an awful lot about him. Heaven help her if anyone actually did manage to get into her brain and figure out her thoughts.
The finally made it to the restaurant. Her stomach was growling, had she really not eaten all day? That was stupid of her. But she had been too nervous to eat. So it would all pay off. Her mouth dropped open when she saw where they were going. This was one of the nicest restaurants in Edge! Or so she had heard at least. She faltered a step before finding her stride again. She tried to act like she went to places like this all the time when the truth was she had never been to such a fancy restaurant in her life.
She took off his jacket as a blast of warm air hit her. Besides, she was sure girls didn’t wear men’s jackets in a place like this. She was scared she was going to trip and fall on her face or make a huge fool out of herself. From the fancy greeter to the decorations this place breathed expensive. She continued to breathe with a little bit of effort as she looked around. She couldn’t believe it! Reno had picked out this nice of a place? She must be costing him a fortune! She tried not to think about it as she approached the table that they were being led to. So far no tripping and falling flat on her face. Good so far. “Oh? So I bring out the romance in you eh Reno?” She asked him teasingly.
She sat down and her eyes riveted on the candles that were on the table. They were away from other people more and had their own little table. The candles showed Reno’s face clearly as she looked up at him, her eyes misty again. Laying his jacket over her lap she smiled at him before leaning closer and whispering to him. “I’ve never eaten in a place this fancy before.” That’s when she picked up the menu and glanced at it. Everything looked good, and she tried not to look at the prices as she figured out what she wanted to order. It was hard but she managed to pick out. “I’m so lucky.” She burst out finally, looking up at him across the table. “It’s so perfect; the night…I’ll remember this as long as I live.” She finally said a little breathlessly.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno continued to show off a smile, right before chuckling a bit, she probably shouldn’t have said anything about his smile being Dazzling…though it did make for conversation apparently. “Nah it’s okay…I don’t mind. I mean, if it really is that dazzling I ought to know…that way I know to smile more.” He grinned enjoying the moment, It seemed they both were almost too happy to function correctly, but that was okay. For a working man and girl like they were…they needed this bit of happiness…though it was much more than a little bit of happiness, it was practically everything right about now. “I don’t know…I mean if you’re going to learn so well that you are better than me…I just might as well stop so I don’t put my own life at risk of…scary Cissnei.” He said poking a little bit of fun at their random topics of conversation the day before. Reno wasn’t cold…okay he was cold, but he wasn’t THAT cold. He had sleeves…rolled up to his elbows…and it was December…oh well, he was fine. Honestly he didn’t really feel anything anymore due to his crazy happiness right about now, it sort of numbed him…or maybe that was just the cold air? No no, go with the numbing happiness. Honestly, if Reno had thought this was going as great as it was, he would’ve made their reservation later and just enjoyed this nice walk. Hand in hand and everything, this was even better than the movies he had fallen asleep through- or watched. He just wanted to make sure Cissnei was okay, warm, and enjoying herself, so he kept glancing at her, stopping himself from questioning everything about her, if she was warm, can she walk okay with those heals, did she think Reno was trying too hard? All these questions he stopped himself from asking, and simply grinned at her noticing her bubbly attitude. When she leaned her head on his shoulder, that about did it for Reno. His happy level probably couldn’t get any higher. He’d explode one of these days from being sooooo happy. He just grinned as they kept on walking. What more could he do? He didn’t know whether to continue holding her hand or to move it around her shoulder, Reno was such a romantic noob. He had no idea what to do and just sort of made it all up as he went along, perhaps it came naturally? If so, then why didn’t he break this out sooner? So long as Cissnei was having a nice time, then he was having a nice time, that’s all that mattered. He smirked a bit at her comment about the ring, being beautiful and what not. But he really couldn’t not worry, he had to make sure everything was exactly right. “Well that’s good, I’m glad we don’t have to resize it…that could take a few days or so and I don’t think I could wait that long…I’m surprised I waited to ask you tonight…I could’ve just came home from the jewelry store and marched up to your room…and well gone there but I didn’t think It was that…nice as a few moments ago was.” Oh the imagery. Reno going to Cissnei’s door and popping the ring out there for god and everyone at ShinRa to see. That would definitely get some talking going, but either way, Reno didn’t care, whether it was then or now, she still said yes. He glanced down at her hand and smiled at the ring, he had done a pretty good job, he was mentally patting himself on the back for a good guess on ring size. “Well Cissnei I really hope you’ll wear it…just to show how much suffering and pain I went through to get it after listening to a sales lady tell me the ‘incredible’ stories of white gold…” He was of course joking but with a cough and tried to make it seem as if he weren’t. “I mean…to show that we’re together.” He grinned slyly, typical Reno, never a day goes by where he doesn’t try to be funny. Although it was a joke, he was probably right about his ego being far too large to fit anywhere anymore. Reno just laughed along with her before she asked how he come up with his jokes…it was a question no one had ever asked before, probably because no one else thought he was funny. He scratched the back of his head with his free hand and hesitated for a minute. “Um…I really don’t know…they just come to me I guess…or maybe I’m just that talented?” The ego and the jokes…they would never stop would they? NOPE. As silence started to fill the air, this time it wasn’t so bad, the thoughts weren’t confusing anymore and Reno wasn’t beating himself up to figure it all out…he just looked down at Cissnei as they neared the restaurant, that stupid yet wonderfully dazzling smile still on his face as it had never left since she accepted his promise ring. She looked so beautiful tonight, of course she probably could’ve work her work clothes and still be beautiful, he realized he was staring at her eyes for a long moment and quickly glanced away. Had he never noticed the pretty crimson tint they had? They were deep and beautiful. “Has anyone told you that you have…the most gorgeous crimson eyes? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with better eyes…” What a poor romantic he was…but he was trying his hardest not to sound like he was making this stuff up. Once inside the restaurant and seated, Reno sat on his side of the table and just continued to stare. What was it about her that was so…alluring? Perhaps it was the candlelight that was making it even harder to look away. “Apparently.” He chuckled answering her question about bringing out the romantic in him. It was probably true. “Usually I’m just that silly Turk who cracks lame jokes and just works for a living, I’ve never really given love-“ WAIT STOP RIGHT THERE RENO. Did he just say the word LOVE? Okay…go ahead Reno. “-a chance.” And then it repeated through his head and he immediately realized what he had just said. His face starting to shade to pink on the cheeks and he looked away and pretended to look at his menu. Had he just screwed up? Probably. He waited for the reaction from Cissnei before she said she’d never eaten at a fancy place like this. “Well…there’s a first time for everything.” Reno chuckled a little nervously. “Like I said, get what you want…and don’t look at the price whatever you do.” He added on as she said she was lucky…a night to remember. That’s exactly what he was going for. Of course, he thought of himself as being pretty lucky too…had she not said yes to this date yesterday…had Reno not had the guts to say anything…this never would’ve happened…and then what? Reno’s mixed emotions would’ve caused him to go insane…so yeah, he considered himself very lucky. Words: 1354 Muse: super fantastic! Notes: <3

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." She found that she hadn’t smiled so much for as long as she could remember. Obviously this was good for her happiness. She hoped Reno felt the same way she did. “Well…will you keep teaching me if I promise never to beat you on purpose?” She said with a deceptively strait face, completely innocent. Oh she wouldn’t ever beat him on purpose…that didn’t mean if years down the road she was better then him she wouldn’t ‘accidently’ kick his butt. It would probably take that long to learn how to do it good enough that she could actually beat him. Maybe she should start bench pressing…nah, she didn’t want to be the incredible hulk. She found she liked having Reno think she was pretty. Call it what you would, maybe Cissnei finally realized she could be a girl and still kick butt as a Turk? “Scary Cissnei is right, I’ll bring out the Rude face and it will all go downhill from there.”
She was glancing at him with much the same questions on her mind. Did he think she was being a ditz for being happy? Did he think her ridiculous for wearing heels and forgetting a coat on such a cold night? Was he regretting asking her already? Oh seriously, be quiet. she chided herself. She really was being ridiculous, he couldn’t possibly be regretting asking her already right? So she just leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed a bit deep in her chest. Life was good…really good. How could she have gotten so lucky? She smiled, not being able to help it when he went on about how he was surprised he hadn’t marched right up to her room. “You probably would have caught me in the middle of trying to tame the beast I call my hair.”
“Besides…then something would have happened like you had knocked on the wrong door and you asked Rude to be your girlfriend…” She bit her lip to keep from laughing at her own joke. That would have been hilarious. She raised a brow, “You had a saleslady talk to you to? When I saw shopping I swear the lady was going to die from a heart attack at my suit.” She snickered, imagining Reno being cornered by some little old lady that wouldn’t take a breath while she went on and on about the jewelry. Oh to have a picture of his face. “Well Reno, I’m not sure if you’ve heard this often but I for one hope you never stop joking around. It makes me laugh and forget to think about anything bad.” Cissnei spoke, still holding her head on his shoulder.
She was just walking slowly, hand in hand with Reno; head on his shoulders when he said something that almost made her tear up again. Had he really just said that? She didn’t think her eyes were pretty at all, just a boring crimson, no blue, no green, just crimson. To hear him say they were beautiful made her want to hug him, to wrap her arms around him and never let him go. “Thank you…I…’ve never thought my eyes were anything but boring.” She said softly, overwhelmed with how sweet he had been. “And no…no one has ever said that…” Then they were in the restaurant.
Eyes snapped up when the word love escaped Reno’s mouth as well. Was that a blush? She asked quickly as she waited for him to look at her. Didn’t happen, almost immediately his nose was buried in the menu. She actually laughed then, “hard to think about…” She gulped, could she get that word out without blushing herself? “Love…” yup she was blushing herself as she tried to remember what she had thought about. Finally it was like a lightbulb going off. “When you’re working with Rude?” She picked up her own menu and buried her own nose in it. Wow…why did she have such a hard time getting that word out? It was like a sacred word almost, a word you had to speak of in hushed tones.
She smiled, looking at the menu. She was easy to please, and would eat at almost any place, but this looked fantastic. She had a hard time picking, but she finally did. No ribs for her tonight…knowing her she wouldn’t have a nice white dress anymore. Salmon was supposed to be good right? She hadn’t had it in forever to be truthful. “Ok I finally think I figured out what I want…” Or maybe not…she thought to herself as another dish caught her eye. The waiter came to take their drinks and orders. Nodding to her first, she went ahead and ordered. She ended up going with grilled chicken breast with a salad and a baked potato. Sounded great to her, she was starving.
As Reno ordered she watched him with a smile on her face. One of the few times she could study him without him knowing she was staring. Everything about him made her smile. From his crazy red hair to his green blue eyes. His jokes and his sweet moments. He really was an extremely handsome man, why hadn’t she noticed before? She wanted to kick herself for not thinking of him in that way before. The look in her eyes were a little bit dreamy as she remembered the way he had asked her to be his girlfriend. So happy, she turned to tell the waiter that Reno was her new boyfriend when she saw that he was gone. The look of shock in her eyes was probably priceless as she wondered just how long he had been gone. She really hoped she hadn’t been staring at Reno for minutes while she hadn’t had the cover of him ordering. Her menu was even gone. "I uh...what did you get?" which only made her look like more of an idiot since she should have known what he had ordered.... Words: 1154 Muse: awesome Notes: ahhhhhh she can't stop staring lol

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Despite the utter cold, Reno was really really happy. Almost so happy, that his warm feelings made him forget that it was in the single digits outside. He just felt at peace with Cissnei leaning against his shoulder, his free hand in his pocket and them just strolling along down the street like the perfect couple. The perfect couple…that had a nice ring to it…perhaps Reno and Cissnei would be that perfect couple, maybe they had a future together or something like that, but Reno didn’t want to get way ahead of himself, he had just asked her to be his girlfriend after all. He didn’t want to go all crazy thinking about what the future had to hold for the two…just take things slow…make it count. With a chuckle Reno looked over at Cissnei. “Okay, if that’s the case…I’ll continue to teach you…if you don’t beat me on purpose…” He said with a wide grin before returning his gaze forward to make sure they were even going the right way. “I’ll be prepared for that…Rude scowl and all.”Reno shouldn’t have waited so long to ask Cissnei out on a date…he should’ve spit it out at the beginning of the day yesterday when they left for their mission, or even after they took care of that one guy with the guns…whatshisface. This was going much better than Reno had thought it would, in fact this was like a dream come true! Everything was going in his favor, it was…like it was meant to be. All these phrases, like perfect couple, and meant to be, it was starting to get to Reno’s head a bit…now he really was thinking of the future…were they just wasting their time with all this? Or did they actually have a shot at a life together? Getting married and stuff…WOAH way too early to be thinking about marriage. Reno just shook the thought from his head…though it didn’t leave completely. Well…that was a funny image. Reno asking Rude out on a date, yeah, Reno would probably die from embarrassment if that happened. He rubbed the back of his neck as an almost nervous laugh escaped his lips. “Yeah, that’d be a little embarrassing…Let alone the fact that Rude would’ve probably rejected my invitation.” He said with a more light, less nervous chuckle, trying to make a joke out of everything was easy for Reno…at least around Cissnei, whenever she was around he had the perfect comments, perfect timing, and what not, but he just wasn’t funny around anyone else it seemed. Oh well. “Yeah, she seemed way to into her job…I sat there for about an hour listening to some story about how she discovered the magical different between white gold and yellow gold.” He said with a loud UGH. “Your suit is wonderful. In fact it really doesn’t matter whether you are wearing a suit, a dress or whatever. You could’ve worn sweatpants on this date and I wouldn’t have cared.” Oh Reno…such a mushy romantic was more like it. Someone…wanted him to keep joking around? To keep being the lame jokester of ShinRa? No one had ever said Reno needed to keep joking…more like he needed to shut up and be more mature. “Wow Cissnei…you’re the first person to tell me that…it…it really means a lot to me.” He said with a smile, looking down at her then back up straight forward. “I’ve never thought I was funny…but if it puts a smile on your face…then well…I’ll keep doing it…Even if Rude punches me in the face for now shutting up.” He said with a wide grin. “Anything to make you smile and keep you happy…I’ll do whatever it takes.” And that was the simple truth. It seemed the two were both told something they’d never heard before…something that probably should’ve been said awhile ago. Reno just smiled and looked back at Cissnei, and her wonderful crimson eyes. “What are you talking about? Your eyes are like…amazing. A burst of pretty colors all placed in the right areas…they’re one of a kind, you should be proud to have such unique and pretty eyes. It’s much better than the boring blue that basically everyone has these days…” And he spoke the truth, if she hadn’t heard that before then people were crazy…she had the best sparkling crimson eyes on the planet…in the universe…and in all the other worlds combined. At the restaurant, Reno was already beating himself up in the mind from what he let slip out. ‘Idiot idiot idiot idiot idiot idiot idiot!’ He screamed at himself in his mind as he tried to play it all off calm. But whatever she just said…it didn’t piece together right…But Reno didn’t dare ask what she was talking about, it would just bring the subject back up. He simply nodded and waited for her to order her food. He folded his menu down and listened to her order before deciding for himself. He looked up at the waiter and grinned, so proud to be on a date with such a beautiful lady. Reno ordered himself a sirloin, that came with a salad and baked potato as well. Nothing messy or too huge to make him look like a fattie either. So he smiled and handed the waiter his menu and Cissnei’s menu, even though she had that glazed look on her face, which sort of made him want to chuckle but he waited until she came back to reality to ask him what he got. “I got me a sirloin…salad, potato….nothing too special.” He said with a shrug keeping himself from chuckling even the slightest bit. Silence would be okay right now, just staring at each other was enjoyable, at least for Reno, but somehow…the silence had to be broken, just so it wasn’t weird for either of them. “So are you having a good time? I hope I’m doing this all right…I’m not used to the whole…date thing. In fact…I’m pretty proud of myself for the first time. I guess dinner was too cliché?” He said rubbing the back of his head some looking down at the table, beating himself up for not doing something better, but it all seemed good, so long as Cissnei was having fun, that’s all that mattered. ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." The snow falling around their feet, the warmth of his hand on hers and the strength of his shoulder beneath her cheek made the perfect combination of a magical walk. It was so peaceful she could almost imagine they were just a regular couple, walking hand in hand through the snow, forgetting about everything but each other. No ShinRa, no missions, no sadness, and no fear of what the day would bring. Only themselves, their hearts beating, breaths mingling and the happiness that she felt. Closing her eyes, she inhaled the scent of the cologne; she could almost swear the snow had a scent as well. Of course it didn’t, but she could always dream it did. She loved snow; she longed to have a snowball fight. She couldn’t ever remember having one of those. She was too young to remember if her family had, and in the orphanage…she had been to busy trying to adjust to a new place with no family to care about that, and in ShinRa? Yeah right…
“I’m glad you’ll teach me, what would I do with my free time if you didn’t?” She couldn’t believe this was reality and not some fantasy she had created in her head. She thought again of the snowball fight. Such a simple thing, but one she had never experienced. In truth she hadn’t experienced a lot of the simple things in life. Like a date, and canoeing, or rollerblading, or iceskating, she hadn’t actually ever made a snowman either. She hoped that she could do those things before she got old, maybe she could do them with Reno. She loved everything about him, probably most of all his jokes. She giggled at the image, “To big a blow to the ego if Rude had refused?” She had always, like she had told Reno, pictured herself living in the country in a nice little house, but that was just one of her dreams. What girl never dreamed of spending her life with the one person she really wanted to? She hadn’t ever told anyone about that dream of hers. Never having a clear image to go with her dream, instead it had always been a shadowy figure. But now that figure was starting to take shape…
Long red hair and goggles…
A little sigh escaped her lips in happiness before she thought about how crazy she was. This was their first date, going slow was good for her. They had time, hopefully neither one of them was going to die, they had time to take it slow and make it meaningful. Like doing the simple things. She knew the reality was that they were going to fight and have problems, but if she worked on it, she was sure they would be a good couple, at least she hoped so. So she walked there and listened to him tell her about his day. She found herself giggling as he told her about how horrible it was. “That sounds excruciating, I’m sorry you went through so much trouble, but…I can’t say that I regret the ring you picked or that you picked one.” She said that with a smile. Sweatpants? She laughed, “I don’t think I own any sweatpants, but I’ll be sure to wear some crazy neon sweatpants next time.” Since he had told her about his day she figured she’d tell him a ‘highlight’ about hers. “I must have tried on a million dresses, one…” She dropped her voice down to a whisper, as if talking about it was breaking some sort of taboo. “Was so short I could see my underwear when I sat down.” Her voice returned to normal, “How do girls wear them?”
At first she couldn’t believe no one had ever told him to keep being funny, but reviewing the people in ShinRa, it wasn’t too hard to believe. “I’m always happy when I’m with you, its like, I don’t have to put on an act, I can just be me. I love it.” She lightly squeezed his hand and tried to fight down the mist that kept threatening her eyes as he complimented her. “I...thank you so much.” She raised herself on tip toes and kissed his cheek lightly. It felt so good, not having to fight the emotions that had been tormenting her only the night before. If she wanted to kiss him she could, if she wanted to hold his hand…she could. She had never been so happy before.
Before she knew it they were at the restaurant and time flew by until she found herself blushing over the fact that she hadn’t paid attention instead of staring at him. That was happening a lot actually. Normally so serious and attentive, he made her forget about everything but staring at him googly eyed like some sort of fangirl that had no life. Still…he was nice to look at. He still seemed a bit worried that she wouldn’t like the date. Laying a hand on his from across the table she sent what she hoped was a reassuring smile at him. “Reno, dinner might be too cliché for some people, but this is my first date, I think it’s the most amazing night I’ve ever had. You’re doing…better then a dream guy.” She said with a smile, remembering how her little fantasy shadow figure was looking like Reno.
Suddenly she remembered what she had been thinking about before, the simple things in life. “Reno? Have you ever…thought you’ve missed out on a lot of things in life? Just…the simple things, like…I don’t know, building a snowman and having a snowball fight, going swimming in the middle of the night, going ice skating, watching the sunrise with someone you really like…the simple things…” She repeated again for an ending. “I…I’ve never done any of those things…” What she added on the end in her mind was, ‘and I want to do them with you…’but would he feel the same way? Or was she the only one? “I’ve traveled the entire planet of Gaia on missions, done things for a job in one week that people wouldn’t imagine doing in a lifetime…but I’ve missed out on so many of the things that really matter…I guess what I’m trying to say is. Thank you, for giving me this memory.”
It meant more to her then anything else he could have done for her. She just couldn't wait to see what the future would bring for them. She felt alive now, like somehow with him there with her she could do anything and be anyone, she could be free, her dreams would come true. It was a nice feeling, she hoped it never went away. she now had a vision of what the perfect night would be like, and she was happy it had been spent with one man...Reno.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno wasn’t one for expressing all these mushy feelings, so on the outside he kept a small grin as they continued to walk, hand in hand, but on the inside he was screaming with happiness, something he wouldn’t dare do in front of…well people. If he expressed even a fraction of the happiness that was going on inside…we’ll you’d think Reno was a complete nut job. He was still smiling, showing he was happy but there was no bouncing up and down, no screaming and running in circles, but a smile…and that pretty much said it all. He was indeed happy. As they continued to walk towards the restaurant, Reno watched as the snow continued to accumulate on the sidewalk. The roads were white and slick and the sidewalk much the same, he kept a good grip just knowing that Cissnei was in heals..and it was getting icy…those things probably didn’t go well together, so if she fell, he’d be there to catch her. “Um…practice your Rude scowls?” Reno said with a small chuckle, what was there really to do in your free time as a Turk? Well...he knew occasionally he and Rude would hit a bar after a mission or something, just to relax and have some guy talk…no Reno talk, since Rude pretty much didn’t participate, but other than that what was there? Not much. “Once all these lessons are done, instead of me teaching you in your free time you can go around beating people up and scowling at them eh?” He said with a small nudge before going back to the ego. In incredible ego Reno had created for himself, it was larger than life…literally. In a mocking type of way, Reno reached his free hand up to his heart and looked like he was in pain or really sad. “If Rude would’ve rejected me…I swear my whole reputation would’ve gone down the drain…I probably would’ve quit ShinRa, cut my hair, changed my name, and moved on…BUT…luckily I didn’t do that.” He said going back to the typical jokester happy self he was. “So my Ego is fine…huge as always but still no damage to it…yet.”With a heavy sigh Reno nodded in agreement, today, shopping, it certainly was excruciating. Probably the worst shopping trip ever! Not that Reno took many times go out and shop for anything…in fact, he never did…he’d barely stepped into a mall let alone a jewelry store, it was so new for him, almost an adventure…one he didn’t want to do ever again. “Don’t be sorry…it was totally worth it. Though I don’t ever want to go to that place again…a guy can only take so much…girl talk.” He said almost wrinkling his nose at the term ‘girl talk’. “Neon? Now you don’t have to go THAT crazy with the sweatpants…but if neon makes you happy…well go for it.” He said with a brief chuckle as he looked down at Cissnei, still leaning against his shoulder, she looked so comfortable and content…it made him even happier, if that was even possible. This was absolutely wonderful. “Okay so your day sounds a lot worse than mine…I mean, even from a guys point of view…dresses…dressing rooms…bleh.” But when she spoke of the short dresses Reno almost burst into a laugh, why? Because he didn’t expect that to come from Cissnei, and part of him wanted to blush because then he got an image of Cissnei in a short dres in his head. Reno quickly shook it away from his mind keeping all sounds and anything else on the inside before he knew he was okay to talk without sounding like a…well a dude. “I don’t think I’m the best person to ask Ciss.”Mouth shut once again. Reno had to be a gentlemen…which meant, basically being polite, and not making any comments he would’ve made with the guys back at ShinRa…or stuff that would embarrass himself or her. So trying to be a good boy Reno was keeping a bit quiet, although the compliment about her eyes just had to come out he figured he was doing a great job today. “I’m glad Ciss…and just know that I like you just the way you are…all the goofy stuff included.” He chuckled a bit as he felt her squeeze his hand a bit, he looked at her and raised a brow before she raised herself up and kissed his cheek. His eyes sort of went blank, as did his entire expression as he looked straight forward. “No...No problem…I meant every word.” He said, his blank expression and tough-guy appearance, not letting those emotions show…it melted away after that, he had a smile on his face, even larger than before and the back of his neck and some of his cheeks were red…though that could’ve been the cold right? Could Reno have done better…perhaps they could’ve gone to a movie? A simple walk? Go dancing maybe…NO, that was a disaster waiting to happen, Reno? Dance? It wasn’t a good idea. But Reno felt so much better after Cissnei placed her hand on his and commented. That probably eased all this nerves down to practically nothing. “Oh? Better than a dream guy? I guess that’s pretty good then huh?” He said with a smug smile. “You know you’re just filling my ego even more right? Though it’s expected…my ego gets larger every day…” Reno never really fantasized about his ‘dream girl’ or anything about his future, sure maybe he’d get married, have some kids and then die…nothing more than that came to mind, but with Cissnei…he started to think of the little details in the future…the little things made everything even better. It seemed that they were on the same wavelength right about now. The little simple things in life. He was almost caught off guard for that question, not really knowing what to say since he never really thought about it all that much. He hesitated and nodded a bit. “Yeah…I’ve thought about it little…it probably would’ve been nice to do some of those things…have a normal life…but being a Turk…I don’t think there’s any other way I could live…” He said with a shrug before she admitted she hadn’t done any of those things. A light sparked in Reno’s brain, and a smile crossed his face. “I’m sure you’ll get to experience those things someday…” Reno had a plan in mind…but he wouldn’t tell, he’d save it for later, so putting on his best poker face for now…he plotted. Her thanks…it meant a lot to Reno. “Cissnei…you’re welcome…I’m glad this will be a memory…” and without even thinking he raised his glass of water. “And may there be more memories to come…” He said with a grin, toasting to it. ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Smiling seemed to be what they both were doing tonight; she hadn’t stopped since he had asked her to be his girlfriend. As she was now listening to him make up a dramatic sequence of events that were horrifying, especially for Reno. She couldn’t help but burst out laughing, “All that because Rude wouldn’t have accepted!” She tried to picture that situation happening, which only brought on another round of laughing. She was glad that Reno was keeping a good grip on her, the walkway was getting somewhat slippery, and it was easier said then done…walking in heels. Walking, head pressed against his shoulder and his jacket around her, she felt warm and protected. The snow was coming down softly because there was no wind.
She realized that this was the happiest she had been in her entire life. Not that she had had a horrible life, but she hadn’t found the most enjoyment she could have with it. She now realized one major thing, you’re life is as happy as you make it, no matter what you’re circumstances are. That meant that she could be happy, do those simple things, be with Reno, laugh and smile as well as being a Turk. She knew one thing though; she was never going to accept a mission that would revolve around Cloud, Tifa and the rest of them that would ruin the lives they had constructed.
“Girl talk is that bad hmm?” She raised a brow teasingly as she said that. “And don’t worry Reno; I think I have a better fashion sense then wearing Neon sweatpants.” She actually smiled at how much he disliked dresses and dressing rooms, “Well after that many dresses to try on I got really sick of them too.” She blushed right after she told Reno about the dress. It had seemed like a simple way to add to the conversation, but it really was embarrassing that she had told him that little tidbit of information. A girl that was less shy wouldn’t have a problem with it, but she felt her cheeks heat up as she thought about what she had just said. When he finally responded she had the sudden urge to burst out laughing, which she promptly did. “I guess you’re right Reno, sorry I mentioned it.” Laughing about it helped ease the embarrassment of him probably picturing her in that outfit.
A warm feeling penetrated her heart as he told her he liked her just the way she was. When she lifted her head and kissed his cheek he seemed to become almost disoriented. She listened as he stumbled a tiny bit, barely noticeable, but then he seemed to quiet down. She observed that but didn’t comment on it, but the smile on his face was big enough to be seen a mile away. She laid her head back on his shoulder as they made their way to the restaurant.
She tried to hide her smile when he looked into the dream guy comment. Raising her eyebrow she cocked her head, “Maaaybe? Or maybe my dream guy weights 500 pounds, is shorter then me, has a beard, no hair on his head, no teeth and always drools.” She couldn’t resist after him saying that she filled his ego even more. She even managed to keep a strait face for a few moments, wondering what the expression on his face was going to be to that. Probably priceless, her only regret was that she didn’t have a camera to capture it. The sad thing is that Reno was her dream guy. Funny, handsome, strong, but adorable and caring at the same time. She asked herself one more time how she had gotten so lucky.
But then they got on the subject of the simple things, which Reno seemed to hesitate. She thought about what he said, “No, you’re right, anything other then a Turk…well I couldn’t do it for the few years I was out in the ‘real world’ but that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it, quite a lot actually.” She smiled over at him as he said that she would get a chance, “I sure hope so, because saying that I’ve never had a snowball fight is somewhat embarrassing.” Running through the snow, laughing and throwing snowballs seemed like great fun, and though she would never toss one at say…Tseng, Reno was a definite candidate for having fun with that and not getting thrown a ‘you’re being childish’ look.
She smiled in happiness and nodded, “Yes, I hope there are more memories.” She glanced at him and couldn’t help but be happy. The candles, Reno, she couldn’t image a more perfect night. Except of course that her heels were pinching her feet a little bit. So as she smiled at him she quickly took them off under the table. No one would notice, right? Besides her feet felt immediately better. Suddenly she wondered what Rude and the rest of the Turks would say to this. She hoped they would be happy about it, since they were like her family as well. Suddenly the waiter came back with their food. She leaned back as he set it down with a flourish and thanked him. She was starving. She sniffed it, “Mmmm, smells delicious.”
