Character Description:
Lightning is an attractive young woman, it is her cold and intimidating personality however that drove others away. This also affected her social life, not that she really had one. Just like her sister Lightning’s skin tone is rather pale. Her strawberry pink hair is cut in layers with pink curls falling swept over her left shoulder. Her bangs are swept to the opposite side down onto her icy blue eyes that hardly show any emotion. Lightning‘s body is lean, but well toned from her soldier training in the Guardian Corps. Her height amazed quite a few as she stood talker than most women and men her age.
Her soldier outfit consists of a sleeveless brown turtleneck shirt along with a necklace with a lightning bolt pendant underneath a white soldier uniform that reaches halfway down her mini brown skirt. There is a green metal plate over her left shoulder with two glowing yellow stripes, symbolizing her Sergeant rank in the Guardian Corp, a long flowing red cape attached to her back on the left side, and a brown belt around her waist.
Lightning also wears two blue gloves with gold plates over the knuckles, a long black sleeve over her left arm that begins from her bicep. Her sword, the Blaze Edge is, is sheathed in its holster at her waist, a brown leather storage pack attached to her skirt and left thigh, and she wears two knee-high leather boots. For accessories other than her lightning pendant Lightning also wears two woven bracelet on her upper left arm with one matching the bracelet Serah has.

Personality:
Lightning is seen as an intimidating young soldier, who most people prefer to keep their distance from. She is stubborn, cold, but not heartless though her kindness is hidden from everyone. She doesn’t tolerate others mistakes, and if they got in her way she would simply dismiss them and move forward alone. Things were better that way, Lightning actually preferred to do her missions solo, at least then she could focus on completing her task and nothing else.
Emotions and mood changes are hard to read from the young soldier, the only one who was able to sense her mood was her sister Serah, the one and only person Lightning ever opened up to. Lightning is also extremely independent, and finds it hard to take orders from anyone other than her superior officer, and would only listen to her sister as long as Snow wasn’t the focus of their discussion.
Lightning is an intelligent young woman, who graduated at the top of her class, as well as rose through the military ranks faster than any soldier before her. She took pride in her work, but she never showed off her skills in combat. In fact, Lightning was always embarrassed when her superior officer bragged about her abilities to others.
Lightning can control her emotions rather easily but when annoyed her targets would usually end up with an infamous right hook punch, knocking most men to the ground. Lightning’s loyalty always resided with Serah in first place then her work. Taking care of her sister and protecting her was her top priority, but somewhere along the line, Lightning lost focus on her main goal and concentrated on her work as a soldier. She still however loved her sister dearly, and would risk anything for her.
Truth be told, Lightning is actually a caring, selfless woman at heart. She gave up her chances at a further education to protect and care for her sister Serah. She discarded her original name and became Serah’s legal guardian. Lightning even joined the military at a young age to get stronger and earn money for Serah’s education.
Lightning does in fact smile and laugh but only rare occasions, her temper has got the best of her at times, especially when talking to Snow. When annoyed or provoked by his actions she would simply deliver her infamous punch to the face to emphasize her point.
History:
Lightning was at times referred to as ‘ the cute spoiled little girl‘ by her parents. She was their first born, her parents couldn’t be happier and named her Éclair Farron. Three years later, her sister Serah Farron soon came into the world, and Lightning was thrilled to have a younger sister. She cared and protected Serah, and was always there whenever she needed her. With time, the two sisters grow closer, and were soon inseparable with Lightning always caring and looking out for her youngest sibling.
Lightning had a good childhood till that tragic day when she lost her father and soon things took a turn for the worst. Her mother fell to an unknown illness, and had to be moved to a hospital immediately. Lightning however never told Serah how bad her mother’s condition was so not to worry her. Serah was still too young to worry about these things she was still a child, even Lightning but since she was the oldest she was the one who had to take responsibility.
To stop her mind from worrying, Lightning concentrated on her education and pushed herself to get high grades. During that time Lightning’s relationship with her sister grew to where both opened up completely to each other. While her mother was at the hospital Lightning took on the responsibility of caring for her sister and the house, and Serah always offered to help with the cooking reminding Lightning that she was better at that.
Every day the two went to visit their mother in the hospital, told her stories about their days, or showed the good grads they got. That always got their mother to smile. One day a doctor informed Lightning that her mother’s condition worsened with each passing day, and there was a chance she wouldn’t make it through the night. Horrified by this Lightning decided to spend the night at the hospital, however she didn’t inform her sister of the reason so not to trouble her.
When Serah left to get some food, the mother finally confronted Lightning about the fact she might not make it. She asked her to look out and care for her sister Serah, but not to take on the burden and responsibility on her own, instead to share it with Serah and welcome her help. She was called ‘the cute spoiled girl’ one last time before crying in her mother’s arms the rest of the night.
On the day of the funeral Lightning stood there holding her sisters hand. That day she knew her childhood came to an end, and now she had to grow up and get stronger to protect and care for her sister Serah. Lightning believed that she was the only one who could do that which was why she took on the entire responsibility and burden of raising her sister alone. She even discarded her original name Éclair Farron and took a new Lightning, before joining the military, Guardian Corps unit to get stronger. Form that day Lightning changed completely and things were never the same.
With the help of her job Lightning was able to save enough money for her sister’s education. She also managed to prove her strength in the military, and after just one year she rose through the Guardian Corps ranks quickly. She acquired a new weapon, a unique gunblade only given to the most skilled soldiers, and soon had a team under her command. However, Lightning’s lone wolf personality played its role as she completed any assignment she was assigned to alone.
Lightning’s work soon demanded more of her time and that effected her relationship with her sister as it took apart of the time those two hung out together. She soon lost focus of her main goal and concentrated on her work she took very seriously, and always disapproved of the thought of taking days off and often argued with her sister concerning that. She did however make time to spend with her younger sibling when possible but it wasn’t as much as she wanted.
After returning from a successful mission one day, Lightning met with Team NORA. She had heard of that group before, but denied that considering them nothing more than an immature group hunting down targets anyone can dispose of. She was annoyed at how proud they were, and irritated by their interference with her mission, and how they believed she needed their help. That wasn’t the only reason she disliked them though, another main cause was their leader Snow Villiers who happened to be hanging out with her sister Serah.
The first day she met Snow only proved her suspicions. He was nothing more than a worthless unemployed man trying to play the hero part. She introduced herself to him as Serah’s sister, and warned him not to spend time with her sister anymore or else. Lightning even cracked her knuckles to emphasis her point, but Snow’s responded with a laugh, saying that he was hard headed, and refused to leave Serah. Angered by this, Lightning tried to resist the urge to punch that man in the face, however she controlled her emotions and simply walked away thinking she would never allow Serah to be involved with a man like Snow, not if she had any say about it.
Weapon:
Blaze Edge, a gunblade that can transform from a gun mode to a blade mode with a swift swing.
Abilities:
Lightning possess incredible power with both weapons and magic. She has a military-issue gravity control device called a Grav-con Unit, or Gravity Bomb that can be activated by small imprints on her left thumb and index finger. It allows her to perform feats normally impossible, including attacking while upside down in the air and landing safely from leaps otherwise impossible to survive. Using her weapon Blaze Edge, Lightning fights in a very fast-paced manner, moving with great speed.

Role Play Sample:
Lightning paused to sigh in disapproval at the assignment she just received. Another special mission, and again she was required to leave her hometown. This time the whereabouts of her target was somewhere within Grapa Whitewoods. Her orders were to leave immediately and dispatch of a fiend that’s escaped into the depth of those woods. The soldier understood the importance of the mission, but why she was a assigned to it was a different matter. Why didn’t the division in charge of that facility take on this task? She wondered but never uttered that question.
Apparently that fiend was wreaking the place and attacking anyone on sight, which explained why this mission was the Guardians Corps main concern. Lightning was slightly bothered about leaving her sister alone. Who knew what Snow would do once he learned of her leave? Probably take advantage of her absence to hang with Serah. Just the thought of that man with her sister angered the soldier, but knew very well she couldn't dismiss her orders.
Lightning took pride in her work as a soldier, always accepting every task she was assigned, and complied her superior orders. She disliked the thoughts of taking days off, and never refused to take on a mission no matter what or where it was.
She turned to her holster attaching it to her waist, gathered supplies she needed for her mission in her storage pack before setting off to Gapra Whitewood. The sooner she finished this assignment the better. Lightning had no doubt that she could finish this task in less time she is required, the main problem was locating the fiend.
Once set, Lightning departed from her home choosing the fastest path to Grapa Whitewoods, however she knew it would take her several hours to reach her destination. She quickened her pace keeping herself focused on her task and nothing else.
