"Well, they don't have much of a choice of where to live," Fate said to Vanille, "You know, Cocoon is totally iced out now so unless it's going to be melt that icey shine away like you two did." Thinking about that brought Fate back to the fact that he was a l'cie. He had been one days before he met Vanille he just had no clue what it was until she happen to explain it to him. Then he made that promise that he would not become a l'cie. But technically he was not breaking the promise if he was a l'cie before the promise was made, right? Fate would tell her that he was a l'cie soon enough... Like somewhere around when he complete his focus.
"Hey! We might have the same friend, Fang. That what you just said totally sounds like something he would say..." He shrugged, "'So you're not strong enough to protect those you care about? You become stronger then!' Yeah, then he'd slap me in the back of the head..." Angeal was a little hard at time, but he just wanted the best for Fate and Sonny. He wanted to make them both strong so that they would not have to rely on each other all the times, not that they were weak to begin with. But it never hurt to become more strong and to learn new things. Trying to tease Fang was no fun. He admit that she was not as harsh as she was in they had first met, but he could still feel the chill coming from the woman.
"So apparently she doesn't hate me anymore. She just strongly dislikes me," He whishpered to Vanille, leaning closer to her, "We should totally hold off telling her that we're getting married until she just dislikes me." Of course the last part was a joke. Marriage was scary and usually led to the men become even greater pushovers than they already were. If Fate was anymore of a pushover he would be a doormat.
He sighed as Fang thank him once again. Really it was not a big deal. He was just doing what he wanted. "Seriously, you thank me again and I made end up hugging you and calling you big sis," He said, rubbing his neck, "But if you want you could put a huge statue of me somewhere around here." When Vanille asked if she could go Fate was going to play the role of the good guy and say she could come. He was expecting Fang to completely disagree with Vanille, but for some reason she did the opposite. Fate looked at Fang and bit his bottom lip. His mind was set, he would never understand Fang. "Stop! Let's back the truck up! I'm going to be serious now... My friend could be anywh-- Wait! You know Angie!?" Fate looked at Fang for a moment, thinking to himself. He was right? Not to forget his promise? "Angeal is totally your boyfriend! Well, menfriend... When did you have time to like someone?"
This was priceless. Well, at least Angeal had good taste in women even if they were mean. "Angie, he's my family and he's training me and stuff. But you have my word. I'll tell him." But it was back to the matter at hand. Vanille could not go with Fate. Fang was the only family she had left and he did want to be the one to break them apart. Anyway, there's a number of worlds out there just as big as this one. It maybe be completely dangerous... Especially if we were to go back to my home world. And, um, I kinda have an expiration date. What if I turn cie'th before I can get her back here? And I never take anything serious! You don't want Vanille traveling with some idiot, right?" ((.... >,< Okay, if you touch the hair again i'm going to have to take drastic actions and you don't want that! Muwhahahaha. And i'm not kicking anything! All i'm going to do is stay cool and try to make in through the rest of my life!))

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Fate did have a point there, the Cocoon citizens didn’t have a choice where to live now and they would just have to deal with it for the time being. It wasn’t like Cocoon could just float back right? Or could it? That would probably ease the nerves of a ton of Cocoon people if they had the option to go back to Cocoon, more than 99% would probably end up leaving Pulse, not that it bothered Vanille, it would be nice to start over here…without worrying about this place ending up like Cocoon. “I don’t know if that’s possible.” Vanille commented softly as she really thought about it, but for now, anything was possible in her eyes, in fact, she believed that Fang, Light, and the rest of the gang had just overcome the impossible…so who was to say Cocoon couldn’t come back? You never know.
Vanille just listened as they talked about this one guy. She just listened silently off to the side as the two conversed, she wouldn’t interrupt or anything, leave them be to talk of other people. She couldn’t help but giggle at Fate as he talked about this guy slapping him the back of the head, whatever had just said did sound like something Fang would’ve said at least back before this focus thing was completed. Now she just hoped that cold hard edge to Fang would soften up now that they didn’t have any focus to worry about…for the time being. It would be such a relief if Fang would lighten up and enjoy life now that they were stress free! At least that’s how Vanille saw it for now, stress free…focus free, all was good to her now.
“Well strongly dislike is much better than hate.” Vanille commented back to Fate in a whisper as a smile seemed to stretch across her face as she clasped her hands together as she rocked back on her heals some in a happy way. But when Fate said they should wait to tell her they were getting married, she knew it was a joke but blushed none the less. Marriage wasn’t exactly a subject she had thought about a lot, in fact, she never did before. It just made her blush now that she was actually thinking about it, and not just that, but the fact that she could have a life now! She HAD a future to plan for…no limit of being a crystal or a monster…she was free to do what she wanted for now. Unless the Fal’cie decided to reactivate her brand or something, thought she wasn’t going to dwell on that possibility and just enjoy life for now.
Vanille nodded in agreement to Fang’s thanks. Keeping Gran Pulse the way it should be…that was a great thing to thank him for. None of that Cocoon nonsense better be running around here. She just started laughing when Fate said he’d hug her and call her big sis, Fang probably wouldn’t roll with that. Fang was more likely to shove him away and what not, but it was a funny thought. “A statue? We’ll have to work on that….” She said with a small shrug before she was surprised at Fang’s response to her wishes to travel with Fate to find his friend. Fang…didn’t disagree? Throw a fit? Anything like that? Vanille was truly shocked and she stood there blinking for a second at Fang with wide eyes. “Fang….are you…serious?” She asked almost feeling like she was gasping like a fish out of water…this was so new to her! Fang wasn’t being over protective or anything…new changes we coming.
So Angeal was this guy’s name…the one both Fang and Fate knew. Well at least she knew something about this guy! But Vanille wasn’t really focusing on that, she was still shocked Fang agreed to let her go off to other worlds and what not. One word did catch her attention though. ‘Boyfriend’ Was this Angeal guy Fang’s boyfriend?! Vanille just stared at Fang with a blank expression and blinked, she was silent, she really didn’t have anything to say, she was pretty much speechless. Unable to think of anything to say from the shock of everything she was hearing right about now. It wasn’t bad or anything in her eyes, just unexpected. Vanille was starting to get the feeling that she wasn’t allowed to go with Fate…just by what he started to say, but then she almost flipped out when he said something about an expiration date and a cie’th. WAS HE A L’CIE?!!?! Her mind raced to the worst possible scenarios….how…when…why?!?! The questions flooded her mind before some expression finally washed over her face.
Vanille’s face turned to utter horror as the realization came to her. “You’re a L’Cie?!” She almost screamed as the roles were now switched, at least of what she knew Fate was the normal one helping her before and now he was the L’Cie…what rotten luck. “How did you….You can’t be a L’Cie!” She said stomping her foot on the ground and her hands clenched into fists at her sides as this was not the way she wanted things to turn out…things were going so great…and now Fate was a L’Cie. Not cool. “When…when did you become a L’Cie?” She said more calmly now, wanting to know if this was something she should’ve known before turning to crystal the last time.Words: 1051 Muse: Fantastic Actually! ~HighWind Nightmare~“Yeah, its unfair, but guess what, we grin and bear it like good l'cie.” Kids and their romance. Fang just shook her head and glanced away while they were being all lovey dovey over there. She tried not to think about what they were talking like and reminded herself that they were both just kids. She had never thought of herself as a kid...at least not since she was younger then 10. To her she had always been an adult, shouldering adult responsibilities and the weight of what had happened to her. She had grown tough and callused while Vanille had become cheerful and outgoing, though she hid her sadness deep within her heart. They were both so different, and yet they kept the close bond they shared.
The same friend. She smirked slightly when he mentioned it was a he. “I'm talking about a woman friend...but hey, they could be the same person.” Since he had mentioned it was a he she was fairly confident he wasn't talking about Lightning. As she was dragged back into the conversation she shrugged, “I think you deserve a few more slaps on the back of the head though...” Kudos to the guy who slapped Fate around. Really he -whoever he was- was doing what she would have liked to done when she had first met Fate. Still, since he had meant so much to Vanille she hadn't smacked him around. She hadn't been so understanding of Angeal, hit him quite a bit, so Fate should be happy.
Fang couldn't stop being herself in the first day being alive without having to worry, but she would make a valiant effort since Vanille had asked her to. Married? What?! Fang almost lost it there for a second. Sure she had always thought Vanille would get a family, have the normal life, but marriage...woah. Of course, Fate was just kidding...right? She studied his face and then noticed the blush on Vanille's cheeks. Showing no emotion was getting harder and harder, so she turned her head to the side and looked at where Pulse had crystallized off in the distance. She thought of her time there and almost smiled. Cocoon hadn't been as bad as she had thought, but it was still good to be back home where they belonged.
Big Sis?! Hell no! She wasn't a sister to anyone but Vanille. The look on her face was probably comical as she thought about that. “No way I'm ever lettin' ya' call me Big Sis. So get that idea roight out of your head.” The look she gave him left no room for argument. Then the conversation switched yet again. Why was everyone so surprised when she didn't raise an argument. Vanille was practically screaming in her ear asking if she was serious, and then Fate started freaking out about she couldn't be serious and how he was. At that she strait out laughed, “Fate if you can be serious for once in your life I'll give you an award.” Turning her head to Vanille she smiled sadly, her green eyes serious and as emotional as she could get. “I'm serious. But remember what I said. You have to promise me.” She turned to her and set her hands on Vanille's shoulders, looking down at her with a torn expression. She had wanted to object, but what would have happened if she did? Vanille wouldn't listen to her forever, and it was best to stay the sister that Vanille loved then the sister that wouldn't let her do anything.
Fate started talking and right then and there she wished she had just given him a coded message. That boy didn't know when to shut up did he. Her eyes changed and in a second she was all emotional and the next she was slightly ready to kill him to shut him up. “Angie? Somehow I think he'd kill you if he heard you call him that.” She dropped her hands from Vanille's shoulder and turned around. “You want to die today or tomorrow?” Personally she wasn't about to get in a large discussion about Angeal. She had been drawn to him because he could match her with stubborn pride and strength and not be intimidated. Plus she had hit him at least twice and he hadn't ran off screaming like a little girl. They had made their way to Gran Pulse after finding a gateway in the ruins from Pulse.
Then he just had to go and say something about being a l'cie. Fang sighed and wished she could be anywhere but here right now. She had told Fate Vanille wouldn't be happy when he told her. She couldn't help but remind him of that. “I told ya' she wouldn't be happy.” But it wasn't like he could hide it forever. So much yelling. Fang turned and almost walked away, but something rooted her to the spot. She wanted to see how this ended, and ensure that Fate took her with him when he went. “Fate, Vanille means more to me then anything, so if she wants to go with you, she has my blessing, though she doesn't need it. Now you can make this difficult or you can just agree. If she needs help she'll come and get me. I'd tear down the sky to save Vanille.” Words: 1045 Muse: amazing Tagged: Vanille and the creepy guy standin-...I mean Fate over there >.> Notes: *ruffles Loon's hair* >:]

"Yeah, i'm pretty sure you think I deserve a lot more than a few slaps on the head," He said jokingly. Though it was meant as a joke Fate feared in was true. It was clear there was no way Fang was going to like this boy. He would just have to come to terms with it and swallow it with a grain of salt. No use in betting on a dead horse. "You could be a little bit more nice or at least try to get along with me better. I don't understand why you still treat me like this even after the focus has been completed," He said, being serious, "I'm trying to meet you halfway, but it's like--Am I always going to be just Vanille's useless boyfriend to you?"
He did remember Fang saying something along the lines of her easing up after completing her focus. She did have the time to get to know or like someone, except Angeal. Well, she had an enternity now that the l'cie thing was over. Still, Fate had a strong feeling he was speaking on deaf ears. He just be happy spending as much time as he could with Vanille. When he mentioned marriage he could see the blush on Vanille's face which caused him to blush slightly. "I was totally kidding about the marriage thing! ...Not that I wouldn't want to marry you. I mean, you're like beyond amazing. Words can't describe how amazing you are..." He paused for a moment, tapping his right fist against his head, "... Ah! What i'm trying to say is that we're too young to get married? Yeah, but other than that I would have no problem making you my wife."
Awkward... Just fall on ya sword now.
Great! Fate was sure that little spazz moved Fate from 'strong dislike' and back to 'hate' on the Fang Scale. "He doesn't mind if I call him Angie. I'm his family. He's actually pretty laid back with us just as long as we take our training serious..." He shrugged, "...Those sideburns of his are amazing though! Oh! Oh! That sword he has... EPIC!" He smiled slightly. He ignored Fang's comment about dying today or tomorrow. He had witty response, but he was sure that she was not going to like that as well so he left it alone. At least Vanille liked him the way he was and that was all that matter. He was not going to change for anyone or anything.
Now Vanille was not happy at all. Why did he have to be an idiot and become a l'cie? This would have been a perfect time for that giant eagle to come and snatch him up so the boy could escape. Fate stared at Fang with an evil look upon his face when she said she told him so. Saying a joke now would only put the boy in deeper waters. "I--I--And--Then.... Okay, like two days before I met you on that beach on Cocoon I was looking for my friend. I stumbled across the vestige and ran into Anima... He liked me so much he gave me a brand..." The happy reunion was now over thanks to Fate. He could not have Vanille hating him that was Fang's objective.
"I didn't know what it was until you explained it to me on our first trip to this wonderful place here. I knew if I told you that you wouldn't be happy and it might have made your brand advance more rapidly... I was wrong for not telling you, but I thought I was doing what was best. I was completely wrong for making that promise after already knowing I was l'cie." That was not to hard to say. Now all he had to do was wait for his punishment. He let out a sigh knowing that the next question she would ask would be what was the focus. He could tell her the same thing he told Fang; he did not know. Not telling the truth would only make it worst when she found out. Hopefully she would not ask.
"I do, I really do want Vanille to come with me, but... Vanille's the only family you have. I can't take her away from you when you both just came back and you're home again..." He said softly, "And Vanille, I have a personality disorder. What happens if I lose control to... him? You're going to have to stop 'me' before 'I' could hurt you. Can you do that?"

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Lightning! Of course! That was who Fang had been talking about, she heard something about this ‘can or can’t’ quote once before. That was definitely Lightning for you! Of course, Vanille wanted to meet up with the gang, even Lightning, who didn’t seem the slightest bit as cold as she once was, an unemotional…or well angry and tough love kind of girl. Vanille wondered what the Ex-Soldier would be like right now…still being nice to Snow? Or back to punching out his lights? It was a thought that almost made her giggle, but she held it back not wanting to be looked at weird or anything. “Lightning?” Vanille asked looking at Fang with a smile, almost as if she already knew the answer…and she did.
Vanille’s smile faded as Fate had addressed Fang about her ‘being mean’ and what not. Well why couldn’t the two just grin and bear it and get along? Vanille knew it was a lot to ask from both of them but…some things just are hard to commit to, so with a small quiet sigh she turned away from the two, not wanting to really pay attention if any bickering started. She looked around at the area…Pulse was so beautiful…so wild and free, it was great. Glad to be here rather than waking up on a place like Cocoon again. She let her mind roam about the good old days back on Pulse as she waited for some sign that the subject between Fate and Fang would come to a close…and remain quiet for a long time. No need to start fighting now, especially when things had just started up again! Fang and Vanille had just came back from crystal stasis…this was supposed to be a happy moment.
Well her attention was certainly brought back with her own blushing at the marriage thing. She totally knew it was a joke! She whipped back around to face the two, her cheeks still a little pink as Fate tried to explain the whole marriage thing to her. Her eyes slowly flickered to Fang for a brief second, just to take in the expression on her face before flickering back to Fate. Well no one had been punched out yet so that was okay. With a smile now spreading across her face again, Vanille talked again. “I knew you were joking!” She said before she giggled a bit, these were the moments she lived for, when Fate was being funny whether he meant it or not, much better than the serious moments where everything was so…well unhappy. Then again, turned away to hide another creeping blush to her cheeks no need to make this anymore weird for them than it already was. Vanille placed her hands on her hips and just stared forward at the scenery in front of her until she knew that she wasn’t blushing anymore.
With a smile still on her face, Vanille started to hum lightly as they talked about this Angeal guy. She wasn’t going to interrupt and just let them talk, perhaps it would bring them closer…to not hating each other? It was a nice thought, but all her happy emotions shattered when she heard of Fate being a L’Cie…it was a curse to her, nothing she would ever wish on someone else and here he was, the very guy who helped her out all over Pulse…a L’Cie. While now facing Fate, Vanille’s expression had gone from happy, to almost angry and shocked, to now quite sad. Her hands were folded across her chest as she listened carefully. So he was a L’Cie before he even traveled to Pulse with her? Then how come after all her explaining…how come he didn’t say anything!? Probably didn’t want to worry her or anything, which was a nice thought, but she still would’ve rather known. “It’s alright….I understand.” She said in a depressed tone as her eyes had locked onto the ground.
A personality disorder? Was he for real? Or was this some sort of way to con her out of not going. If he didn’t want to her to go, all he had to do was say so. Vanille would be fine with Fang…or by herself just going off to explore or find Lightning and the gang…something along those lines. “A personality disorder?” She questioned looking back at Fate, almost as if she didn’t believe him, but not distrusting him or anything. It just seemed a bit…suspicious. “I won’t go then…I don’t want to get you into any trouble bringing me along or anything…” She said with a shrug, which was the truth, if bringing her along would just cause problems…then it just shouldn’t happen. It was right here and right now, that Vanille put back on that mask…that happy mask of hers she had gotten so good at faking. She’d done it a while back and people believed her…why not now?Words: 950 Muse: Good Tagged: Fang & Fate....and a bag of cheetos because I'm Hungry. Notes: none

~HighWind Nightmare~“Yeah, its unfair, but guess what, we grin and bear it like good l'cie.” Fang smiled but didn't say anything to Fate's comment. Oh yes, she had been 'joking' but then again he probably could use a few more smacks. She had yet to hit him, but he had pushed the envelope a few to many times. Yet never to the point where she would have hit him out of anger. Fang had hit plenty of people in her lifetime. Snow had been knocked down, and Angeal had been hit more then once. So she wouldn't hold back if she really felt they deserved it. The only thing she gave him was a shrug when he asked why she wasn't getting along with him better. What he didn't know was that she was trying to get along with him better. An entire personality change didn't happen overnight. She turned her head to Vanille, “Yeah Light. She said that quite a bit.” Of course, she had gotten closer to Light then probably any of the others, whereas Vanille had gotten close to Sazh and Hope.
Yet she sensed he was being serious, and so she gave him a serious answer in return. “I am who I am Fate. Just because I don't have a focus doesn't mean I'm a completely different person. I suggest you get used to that, though whether you'll admit it or not, I am trying to get along better with you.” That was the end of the discussion in her mind. She had given him an honest answer just as he had asked an honest question. She rewarded seriousness, and so she had given him as good an answer as she could come up with. Fang had spoken to him as an equal when she had said that, she did nothing because she thought she had to, and like she had told him before, she didn't use Vanille as an excuse not to smack him around.
Fang stood passively, arms crossed and green eyes sparking, but didn't say or do anything while Fate talked on and on about marriage. Thankfully the conversation was turned to a different subject. In a few more seconds she would have simply walked away from them. A smile formed on her lips at Fate going on about the sideburns, though she quickly tried to hide it. The smile turned into more of a smirk instead of going away however. “He seems to be just as enthralled with his own sideburns as you are of them.” The sad thing was that it wasn't even a joke. Of course, she wasn't denying that they were the best sideburns she had seen, but the fact remained, why did men put so much stock into facial hair?
Fang was thankful she wasn't a part of the conversation about the l'cie, so she just remained quiet and waited for the fireworks to start. She felt her heart sink as they went back and forth. Sure Fate wasn't exactly her favorite person, but he was growing on her. It wasn't anything he had done bad, she just found it easier to get along with those that were serious like her. Still, she had gotten to like all of the 'gang' so why was it so hard to like Fate just as much? Possibly because of all she had gone through with the gang? Probably. Still, the look on Vanille's face made her happiness at being back disintegrate. She HAD told Fate it would be a good idea to tell Vanille, but she wasn't going to say anything about it. Hopefully Vanille didn't ask her if she had known or not because she realized she would have to tell her. Fang wasn't good at lying. Fang almost got angry when Fate pegged HER as the excuse not to take Vanille with him. If he wasn't man enough to take her own up to that, he shouldn't be using Fang as an excuse. Her arms were crossed then, stubborn side kicking in. If they couldn't get anything out in the open, it would fall to her. “You two! Stop it and listen to me, because I'm only going to say this once.” Pausing, she waited until she had their attention. “You two care a lot about each other. Fate, have you seen Vanille in action? She can protect herself, I've finally figured that one out. And Vanille, we're Gran Pulse women! Just 'cause the road may get tough hasn't ever stopped us from going down it. You want it, you go get it, theres nothin' stoppin' ya that you can't get through.”
With a shake of her head, Fang stopped talking, they'd probably just think her a bossy hag anyway, but she had had just about enough of this going back and forth and not getting out what needed to be said. “You two duke it out....I've obviously said more then enough.” With that she made an aboutface and walked away, going to stand looking out over Pulse. The nice moment had been spoiled...all this fighting and they had just gotten back to Gran Pulse. With a sigh she put her hands on her hips and stood there, wild hair fluttering around her face with the wind...what would life bring from here...?

"So... Does that mean the father-boyfriend camping trip is still on?" Never a dull moment. Some would consider it a gift how he could go from being serious and jump back into humor so easily... Only some. Still, despite was Fang had said Fate felt like she was annoyed with him and there was nothing he could do to change that. Well, he could change, but he did not want to. Placing his hands behind his head, he stepped to the side of Fang, trying to get close to her. He twiddled his thumbs for a second before opening his mouth to speak again. "So I won't call you big sis, but nicknames is a good way to bond... Though we both have only four letters in our name... Our names are like one syllable..." He sighed, "Okay, so nicknames aren't the way to go. How about we go fishing or something?"
Angeal did have those freakishly good sideburns. Fate was somewhat jealous because he did even have facial hair. He still had his baby face. Ya get facial hair people with totally take ya serious... 'til you start talkin'. Then they'll realize how stupid ya really are. [/color] Honestly, how did you get sideburns like that. Fate thought they were fake, but he would never dare say it to the man's face. Maybe it had something to do with that SOLDIER thing he always talked about. "His sideburns, they're beautiful. Don't tell him I said that. He would kill me," He said, "Sideburns aside, I can see why you would like someone like him. He's like a big teddy bear... Minus the teddy bear and add the he could kill you at any moment."Fate was failing horribly pleading his case on why Vanille should not go with him. The fact of the matter was he would love for her to go. It would be amazing. He was a bit surprise that Vanille did put too much of a fight, but was a bit more surprise when Fang put her two cents in. They both were right, it was just Fate was scared. Vanille was a grown woman who was fully capable of defending herself. A slight smile came across his face as he approached Vanille. "I'm just being stupid. Life's about taking chances, right partner?" He said, "So if you still want to come I would love for you to join me."Fate had truly mess up with becoming a l'cie and now here he was being selfish yet again, trying to keep Vanille from going. It would be very hypocritical of him if he did not allow her to help. "I did say I would show you my world also and i'm a boy of my word... Besides, that promise. We'll just say that doesn't count," Fate smiled. Fate slightly lowered his shoulder and gently nudged against Vanille. He was willing to do a lot for Vanille and he could honestly say that he was in love with her. Despite his age, Fate knew what he wanted and what he needed; Vanille. "Maybe i'm jumping to far ahead, but i've totally fallen for you and i'm still falling. Everyday day that I spend with you is the new best day of my life... Lame right. But it's true," He said, staring at some of the flowers, "I've been searching my brain for a new improved way to let you know you mean more to me than what I know how to say." That was a bit embarrassing. Maybe he had said too much, but it was the way he felt from the moment he had met Vanille. But he completely understand if she did not feel the same way as he did. After all, they were young and Fate was not exactly true boyfriend material. He was more like a friend who made you laugh when you were down. Change subject now and pretend like he never said any of that. He turned back in the direction of Fang and waved his hand high to get her attention. "You should totally come with. Chances are we'll run into Angie and I bet he'd be happy to see you."[/blockquote] ((*Coughs* He totally mentioned he had a split personality to Vanille in Memories of Happy Days. Try not to shatter Fate's heart Vanille. Let him down easy. lol))

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Vanille had to agree, she had heart Lightning say that quote once before…or a few times, between her and Hope it was repeated a little. And it really did sound like something the Ex-Soldier would have said, she was a tough girl, with a hard shell to crack, but all and all, pretty nice and stuff. “Yep, I can imagine that.” Vanille nodded a little back at Fang, wishing everyone else was here and safe, or at least hear from them so she knew they were all safe and sound. While Fate and Fang continued to talk about different things like…sideburns and what not, Vanille just let her eyes wander the scenery, it really was a pleasure to be back on Pulse, last time they had woken up on Cocoon and that was a horrible shock to Vanille. That ‘nest full of vipers’ wasn’t as bad as she had thought after being dragged around the Vile Peaks, the Sunleth Waterscape, and even Nautilus. It wasn’t as bad as the Pulsians had made it out to be…of course that’s probably how Light, Snow and the rest of them thought of Gran Pulse after they visited it.
Sideburns aside…then came the rather unpleasant part. Fate didn’t really want Vanille to go with him to his world to find his friend, she respected that of course, there were just some of those time when you wanted to do things yourself, but it concerned her now that she knew Fate was a L’Cie…it just made her worry. It’s not like she couldn’t NOT worry or anything, he had been there to help her through some of her focus…and now she had to return the favor…that was just how Vanille was, kind as always and wanting to help others as best as she could, but she certainly wasn’t going to get in the way if they didn’t want her there…she understood that perfectly clear.
What Fang had said made perfect sense to her and it sort of made Vanille think a little better about her own fighting skills. She was able to defend herself, and she was a Pulsian! Built to take on the toughness of life and what not, she was strong and a good fighter, despite what her personality may trick people into thinking. To keep it plain and simple, Vanille was no weakling. “Fang…” she started, almost sounding like a rebuttal, but she was going to say something along the lines of ‘you’re right. This is silly’ but Fang just walked after and stared out at Gran Pulse, much like Vanille had been doing when Fate and Fang were talking…how beautiful and captivating this world was…you couldn’t help but stare. With Fang a few yards away, Vanille just shifted her bright green eyes over to Fate. Partner…did he really want her to come with him? Vanille’s instincts told her he did…and she would go with that, it was enough for her.
Vanille just stood there and smiled, almost trying to think of what to say. Might say something soon before it was taken as a ‘no I’m not going’, so she nodded a bit with her smile widening some. “I’ll go…you did say you’d take me there…partner.” She said as he nudged her shoulder, and she couldn’t help but giggle a little bit. Being a L’Cie…it took a lot of your personal time away from you, Vanille did grow up with a childhood and everything, but once becoming a L’Cie she didn’t have time for a life or anything, she never got to experience much, only fear and hope towards a focus she didn’t want…now she could be normal, sort of, and life a semi-normal life. Perhaps it was because of Fate that she believed in herself enough to change her fate with that focus…whatever kept her going…she probably owed it to him especially after they had wandered across Pulse together.
Okay, the next part did catch the girl off guard. She didn’t expect anything more to be said! And out of sheer surprise of the lovely words that were said to her, her face turned bright pink and she widened her eyes. “Oh!” She squeaked before pressing her hands to her cheeks, feeling the heat that was there now as she was blushing like a fool right about now. Vanille didn’t exactly know how to reply, certainly not with a lame ‘oh me too’ that would be too…cold sounding, but she wasn’t going to go all emotional on him right now, that would probably scare him…or any guy away. Carefully, still having her hands pressed to her cheeks, Vanille slowly dropped her hands down to about her stomach, keeping them folded with one another as a smile pressed to her face rather than the shocking look she had a few moments ago. Speechless…it was hard to come across with someone like Vanille, but there were moments, but she also couldn’t help herself sometimes. “Fate…I…” she started, but the words just seemed so jumbled in her mind…so that was when she let her actions do the talking for her. While he was busy staring at the flowers and talking, Vanille threw her arms around Fate tightly, for her, at time like this, actions speak louder than words.
With a few giggles she pulled herself away from her unexpected hug and just smiled at Fate before glancing over at Fang. Fate was right, Fang should come with! It would be fun to drag her along so long as her and Fate got along…otherwise It might not be as fun as Vanille imagined it. “Yeah Fang! You come too!” She said happily with bright eyes as she stared over at her best friend looking hopeful and cheerful as ever. Words: 1113 Muse: It exploded for some reason! ~HighWind Nightmare~“Yeah, its unfair, but guess what, we grin and bear it like good l'cie.” Fang had forgotten about that discussion. When Fate mentioned the father-boyfriend camping trip her head tilted back and an actual laugh escaped her lips. That might surprise them more then anything, but just thinking about that made her feel a lot of amusement. “Sure Fate, if you still wanna brave it. You cry on me though and I'm not gonna be happy.” Of course, she highly doubted he would just break down and start sobbing his eyes out, but one never knew for sure. And if she was going to have some grown man sobbing to her about something she just might have to smack him around. That made her shake her head, but the amusement still sparkled in her eyes, Fang could have a moment of laughter, it was just rare for her. He went on about nicknames and Fang sighed, though her green eyes were as close to twinkling as possible directed toward someone other then Vanille. Fishing? “Whatever you say Fate.”
Still he was talking about those sideburns? Fang thought it was somewhat comical, he seemed to be obsessed about the sideburns. When he went on about her liking Angeal Fang put a hand to her forehead and wondered when it would stop. This was exactly why she was never going to tell Fate anything about her personal life. Still, it hadn't been what he made it out to be. They had both been l'cie, unable to know what the future would bring. She had her life and her own battles to face, and he had his own as well. Still, knowing what she did hadn't stopped her from getting emotionally involved, no matter how hard she tried to remember that her life was worth nil. Maybe it was the fact that they were similar in a lot of ways, harsh, powerful, unyielding, and stubborn as hell. Anyone that could go toe to toe with her in the stubborn category and not go down immediately was worth something in her eyes. “Ok Fate...ok, we get that you love the sideburns. And yes, he could kill you at any moment. Makes it all the more interesting. But I'm not getting into this anymore, just tell him what I said.”
Thats when she put in what she wanted to say and walked off, they could hash it out themselves, although something told her that Vanille wold get her way. Who could resist the bubbly red haired girl? She couldn't, and she didn't think Fate could either. So she just stood and looked out and wondered what the future would bring. Hopefully good things, Vanille deserved that. Mind turned to the rest of the gang. Where were they? Alive? Well? Probably. Fang couldn't imagine any of them surviving what they had and then dying for some small reason. She missed them. Though Fang had fought the emotions of having a new family tooth and nail, in the end she had gotten just as attached to them as Vanille had. Sazh when he hadn't blamed her for his son, had went directly to her heart.
And when the gang had apologized to her for making her go it alone, her heart had warmed to them completely. She had been right with her words of wisdom to Vanille, they DID have a new family. And she had enjoyed it very much, even if she hadn't admitted it. Her back was toward them and her arms were crossed, giving her the cold deadly appearance she was so good at giving out. But a smile was lifted on her face, softening her features. Whatever the future brought...Angeal HAD been right, she would indeed have a future. Had she ever doubted those words? Yes, yes she had, but now she didn't. No matter what the future, she could take it head on and come off victorious.
Thats when she heard her name and turned around, intense green eyes watching the two figures. The one who did and always would mean more to her then anyone else, and the young man that Vanille liked so much. They both encouraged her to come...but did she want to? Eyes cut back to the world that stretched out in front of her. It beckoned to her, called for her to stay, yet she did want to see Angeal's world. She had asked him to take her once this was all over with, which at that time had been just a fantasy, since she knew she would never get to go. And yet now she could. “I...” She was surprised that Fate would want her to come at all. “But this is...this is your story you two. Your journey.” The emotion that was creeping up in her was reflected on her face. The caring, the happiness, the surprise. She hardened her voice so it didn't reflect there, “I would think you two would like to just go it alone.” She was torn, go or stay? Eyes once again turned to the home she loved so much. If she left...would she ever find her way back? Would she be able to come back here and see this again?

Did Fang actually just laugh at something Fate said? A real laugh! Not that little stern look she gave him or those rolling of the eyes. It was an actual laugh. A huge grinned dance across his face. He felt like he just slayed the dragon that tortured his village for years. Okay, maybe it was not that serious, but he felt accomplished. He was going to say anything about the laugh, he would hate to ruin this bonding moment that they were having. "No, no. I would never cry on you or in front of you. I would totally wait until you're sleep and cry silently. And if you were to awake to see me crying, I would lie and say that my eyes are raining."
This was turning out to be a good day besides revealing he was a l'cie. But that was something he was sure he could handle when the time was right. Now he wanted to focus on making Vanille happy and spending as much time as possible with her. He was not surprise that she still wanted to go, he was happy. Besides, he had a feeling she would end up going with him no matter what he had said. "The dynamic duo. The Magnificant Vanille and the Great Fate. Another adventure!" He smiled, "And maybe we'll find that giant eagle."
Well, Fate felt like he was going out on a limb when he was spilling his heart out to Vanille. Maybe if he was actually looking at the girl to see that she was blushing he would see that she felt that same way. But he was entirely new to this whole thing. He feared looking into Vanille's eyes would cause him to choke. He was already nervous as it was. He had said his piece and was growing anxious waiting for Vanille to say something. He tried to keep the thought of Vanille trying to find the right words to ease him down out of his head. Well, it was pass the point of where he could say that he was joking and he was sure she knew he would never joke about something this serious.
When she opened her mouth to finally speak, Fate could feel his heart racing. But nothing was said. Ya really jumped the gun with that one. Suddenly, she threw he arms around him. He wanted to play it cool and not smile, but he could not stop himself from doing so. The smile on his face was biggest he had ever had as he fell into Vanille's embrace. That was a yes, right? Of course it was a yes. It could not be anything else.
"Okay, we'll just make it our story. Who says a story can't have more than two main characters?" Fate would like for Fate to come. Anyone who cared for Vanille was alright with Fate. Besides, the two have not really had to spend time together. The time they did spend they were worried about their focus. They needed to enjoy each other company without that burden on their shoulders. "It's your choice Fang. You know Vanille want you to come, that goes without saying. I totally want you to come, but don't tell anyone. They might think we're actually bonding or something." He smiled, "The only major issue we're going to have is... Coming up with a cool name for our team."

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. What…was this about a camping trip? And crying on Fang? Vanille really wasn’t going to bother asking, she figured that it was between them, besides she didn’t want to try and understand their weird dislike/like friendship here. It was something she would try to understand later on in life. For now, she would let the two converse about whatever topic, whether it was a camping trip or these sideburns that Fate seemed to admire a lot. Vanille just kept quiet a smile on her face as she looked around, still facing the two as her green eyes looked past them and onto the scenery once again. It was weird to be back, you’d think after the first-second chance her and Fang had gotten, that this time would be different, the would’ve stayed in crystal stasis forever, but truth be told…it was only a few months. So…maybe something was going to happen in the future, a new focus maybe, but until that day came, Vanille was happy.
The dynamic duo, off on another adventure. How the sound of that made Vanille smile even wider, her eyes twinkled with happiness as the thought finally soaked in. She was alive, and ready to get going on adventures once again! No matter how dangerous or safe they may be, she was ready. Time to live life to the fullest, not be afraid of anything and just go forth with life with a positive outlook on everything, it may be hard, but now was the time to start trying. “Maybe…” she mumbled a bit as the smile on her face stayed there and didn’t dare shrink, she was too excited and happy to let anything bring her down now…even the fact that Fate was a L’cie…she wouldn’t let that get her down. She was going to stay positive and help out if he needed it, she was once in the position of being a L’Cie, and he was there to help her, time to return the favor. “Another adventure…sounds like fun to me.” She chimed happily.
Vanille huffed a breath as she placed her hands on her hips and looked over at Fang. Story…if this was a story, Fang had to be in it. Fang was a part of Vanille’s life no matter what, and speaking in ‘story’ terms, Fang was going to be there till the end of the book…maybe not all chapters, but still. “Fang…you should come with! It would be nice to have you around…we can always come back sooner or later.” She said in a sort of sad tone as she walked around to face Fang in the eyes. She let her green eyes get a little bigger as she tried to pull that ‘cute innocent puppy dog’ look with Fang. “Come on Fang…you know you want to go….we can find this…Angeal guy for you…” she said in her sad tone, trying to guilt Fang into going. It wasn’t a fun tactic she used, but sometimes it would work. Fang couldn’t resist Vanille...they were best friends, sisters was more like it…closer than family. It was easy for either of them to get their way with the other…too easy actually. Vanille just hoped Fang would fall for this little act Vanille was putting on. “Please Fang?” She added on as Fate tried to convince her to come as well. Maybe this would work! Fang couldn’t say no to Vanille AND Fate now could she? Probably. Words: 695 Muse: Good Tagged: Fang and Fate Notes: VANILLE POSTS ARE DONE NOW! lol all ONE of them.

~HighWind Nightmare~“Yeah, its unfair, but guess what, we grin and bear it like good l'cie.” After the laugh she realized what she had done. Oerba Yun Fang had just laughed at one of Fate's jokes. For a moment she stood there with an odd look on her face before letting her face relax once more and smiled again. Almost as if in a 'what the hell' sort of way, uncaring that she had laughed at something she swore she would hate forever, a Fate joke. If he said anything about it she just might not laugh at any other joke he ever cracked, so he should tread lightly. Thankfully he didn't say anything about it, but he went on some more. This time she gave him a more blank look instead of laughing, but the shadow of the previous smile was still residing on her lips. “Eyes are raining...what an excuse.” Of course that was spoken sarcastically, and an eye roll to go with it.
Eyes cut over to Vanille and she smiled once again when she saw that Vanille was smiling as well. Maybe this would continue to be a good day after all. Any day was good if Vanille was happy. Vanille made the world a better place, especially when bad things happened. She really did give Fang the motivation she needed at some points, just having someone there to uplift your spirits and give you that extra push was a must. Vanille was the person who did that. Still, she had to walk away to let them talk about what they needed to. Really she didn't have anything against Fate, especially now that he had told Vanille about him being a l'cie. Besides, it was their own life, not like Fang could do anything about him being involved...ok that wasn't true, if Fang had ever seriously hated one of Vanille's boyfriends she could do something about it. A lance in someones throat and a glare would do the trick.
Those two were persistent weren't they. Of course, it wasn't like she knew anything about being stubborn. (lulz) Fate's logic was profound she had to admit. Still, she hesitated and looked out over Gran Pulse. This was her home, did she really want to leave? She hadn't even gotten to enjoy it yet, and meeting up with the gang and seeing how they were doing was a must in her opinion. Fang may be cold and somewhat heartless, but they had become her family, and she needed to see them again. Besides, she still needed to meet Sazh's son and the Serah everyone said so much about. Letting the past rest there, but she would be glad to be rid of the guilt that had been in her heart secretly at the fact that she had been involved with making them both l'cie.
Mind was in turmoil, but of course, that did sound interesting, other then the fact that she would be the third wheel. Maybe they could find Angeal and force him to come along with them, make it more evened out. She could only imagine the bickering that would go on between them all. Of course, that made her smile as well. No matter what she said otherwise, she did like Angeal, even with the fighting. Hoping she could see him again too, though that might not be possible. It had been months and months since she had seen him. That time she had met him before finding the rest of the gang and starting their journey had been the last time. Would he even remember her? Hopefully, and then of course Vanille had to join the pleading. While she could resist Fate, Fang could never resist Vanille.
Vanille's words of encouragement. Hadn't they always gotten her through? Even when she felt that nothing could be done, though she had never said that out loud, Vanille had many times brought her back from that despairing feeling. Now she was doing it again. With a little sigh, Fang walked over to Vanille and put her arm up like she did when they hit each other with their arms affectionately. “Ok, I'm in. But can we see the gang before we leave?”

And there it was! The eye roll that Fate had grown acustom to. He chuckled slighly. He patted Fang on the shoulder and then pushed himself away from her. In the end, Fang would end up completely hating Fate or completely loving him. He prefer the latter, but he had a strong feeling that he would end up being hated. Being serious for him was way too much work and so lame. Smiling and laughing was the only way you could deal with the crap life handed you. "Be careful, your eyes might roll outta your head," He said jokingly.
He smiled at Vanille. Honestly, he did not really plan for this trip to be an adventure. Knowing his friend, Sonuske, he would be far away from anything that meant work. He was extremely lazy and if it was for Fate, Sonuske would no do anything except lay and stare at clouds. Who laid down and stared at clouds all day, every day!? "... We're probably aren't going to find a giant eagle though... But I do know where we can find some dragons... They breathe fire though so I think we should just stay away from them," He said, "Oh! And you can meet my buddy Banks. He's pretty smart for a puppy." Fate did miss Banks. He could only hope that Kasumi was taking good care of him while he was away. Hopefully, he would remember Fate.
Fate had said his piece into trying to get Fang to come with them. Honestly, he did not think it matter if he spoken a word at all. Just let Vanille speak to her and she would give in. Vanille totally had Fang wrapped around her finger. Fate grinned when she did agree to come though. Whatever made Vanille happy made Fate happy. "You're grown women, you both could see any gang you want to," He shrugged, "I didn't plan on leaving for another day or so... Whenever you two are ready I guess."
Fate was a patient guy and did not mind Fang and Vanille getting reaquainted with their friends. But he had kept Sonuske waiting for about four months so he wanted to leave as soon as possible. Chances were that Sonuske would be with Angeal. Angeal would surely scold him for just leaving his 'brother' hanging like that. Knowing Angeal, a slap to the back of the head would come along with the scolding. Maybe he would make Fate fight him again... That was something Fate did not want to experience any time soon.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Okay, as of now, Vanille was officially happy. She had a smile on her face as things started to brighten up once again. In fact, the day as a whole was in fact, pretty decent. Coming out of crystal stasis for one, Fate being here for another, and going on another ‘adventure’ well…it all just felt great! Vanille felt warm and bubbly on the inside as Fang was even smiling, it made her feel great that things were going great instead of taking a turn for the worst. Who knew so much could happen in one day!? A few moments ago, Vanille was thinking that this was going to turn into a disaster of a day, but no! Things were turning out great, Fang was happy, Fate was happy, and Vanille…well didn’t we already state that she was happy?
Oh Fate, continuing with the humor. Giant Eagle, that stuff had continued on from back before Vanille turned to crystal the second time around, and of course the sheep. So many things he said could make her smile, but was great for her. Though now hopefully she didn’t have a reason to not smile at all. No focus for the time being, though Fate was a L’Cie himself, that did bring her down a little, but if things could work out for her, they would work out for him too right? That’s what she liked to think. “Aww, that’s too bad. I know how much you wanted one of those giant eagles.” She said with a small shrug of her shoulders as that smile, that famous true Vanille smile, stuck to her face and never twitched or diminished a fraction. It might grow every now and then but never did it shrink in size. “You have a Pup?” Vanille said with her green eyes sparkling with joy. She was such a sucker for cute animals, like the sheep, of course she thought a ton of things were cute and adorable and she really liked pretty much anything, but still, it’d be fun to see this pup.
When Fang held her arm up, Vanille grinned even wider, if it was possible. She put her own arm up with a nod and continued to smile, all happy and giggly as she normally was. “We can try to find them…we don’t want to have to crawl all over Gran Pulse to locate them all. I’m sure they are fine.” Vanille said before putting her arm down back to her side and swaying on the back of her heals. “Besides, they’ll still be around when we come back.” She said with a confirming nod and taking a few steps around aimlessly to wander. “If we see them..we see them…if we don’t for the next couple days, then we can come back and see them…I think that sounds fair.” She said with a shrug wandering away from both Fate and Fang before taking in a deep breath and sighing happily swirling her arms around a bit as she felt so happy-go-lucky right now. “Don’t want to keep you waiting Fate…so another day or two should be fine.” She chimed happily before giggling some, knowing Fang would probably want to stay and find the gang, but who knows, maybe she’d agree with Vanille and just catch up with them all later.Words: 672 Muse: Pretty good Tagged: Fang and Fate Notes: Wrote this while slap happy from Superbowl outcome! <3

~HighWind Nightmare~ “I guess I deserve it...after what I did.” Her eyes were going to-....? Another one of his 'hilarious' jokes. She really couldn't win could she. With a somewhat bland eyebrow raised look at him, Fang shook her head and crossed her arms. Thoughts wandered back to Angeal and the future when Fate and Vanille talked privately. He had been right after all, she did have a future. Now that she had it, Fang didn't know what to do with it. It was right there. All she had to do was open her eyes and see it, the new dawn. But what of him? Had he been killed by Sephiroth? Or was he still alive, facing the knowledge that he might have to turn Cie'th? She was going to find him. And when she did, she was going to smack him upside the head if he dared tell her she couldn't help him out with his focus.
He was stubborn that way, but she knew stubborn, he wouldn't get far with telling her she couldn't help. The look on his face when she told him that though would probably be shock and then he'd try telling her to get away and stay away. With a shrug Fang smiled, he could always try to get her to do something. When it came right down to it, Fang did what Fang wanted to do, regardless of what people told her. Those thoughts stopped when she joined the conversation. Kids...
She couldn't help but smile at them, but they were still kids. Though she wasn't all that much older then either of them, but they still had that happy-go-lucky nature. Fang agreed that she could learn something from them, maybe lighten up just a little bit. After all, she didn't have to worry about Vanille becoming a cie'th anytime soon. So really what did she have to worry about? Nothing, as far as she could see, so maybe she should stop being serious. Of course, Fang had never been as serious as Light, but she was definitely not one to be giggly. Now that she was here and alive she could let the reckless wild side of her come out and the cold, heartless side of Fang could go dormant.
Fang turned and looked again at Gran Pulse. Now that she had promised to go with Vanille she wondered if she could actually leave the beautiful land she loved so much. But Nille was right, they would come back, they would see it again. It was just a...vacation. Besides, she couldn't let Angeal think he had had his way when he had told her to not help him with his focus. That would just be letting him get the upper hand on an argument. Come back if they didn't find them? Fang looked back at Nille giggling and couldn't help the soft look that softened her features up as she looked at the girl she cared about so much. She was right, if they didn't find them right away they could always come back to find them. Give her something to look foreword too. Still...
“It'd be nice to see them before we would go. Heaven only knows how long we'll be gone this time.” A hint of sadness found its way to her voice, but she cleared it and turned back around. “But theres forever now.” Eyes glanced from Nille and Fate before returning to the land. She would be back. And the Cocoon citizens had better not have changed anything or she wouldn't be happy. "Whenever your ready to go we can...I'll find that stubborn oaf and help with that focus whether he likes it or not."
