Nightmares become real...

But soon everything will disappear....
All because of me....

Another long night....Cloud couldn't sleep....So he stayed up and started writing a song for Tifa....Secretly one of his talents was indeed poetry....So this was no big deal for him to accomplish....He was working on it non stop all night....Until he got through with it. How come him not to sleep....? Well his night mares have become to much to handle.....And so tonight he chose not to sleep....

He finally finished the song...But couldn't come up with a name for it yet....That was the hardest part....But for now he would just call it Tifa's Song....And he hoped it would express everything he wanted to tell her....There was a lot of what and how he was feeling about her right now....in the song....It wasn't a rock song....Just a slow love song he wanted to give it to Tifa on her next birthday which was in a few days.....

Cloud had walked up to the roof of the bar and held the song in his hand folded up....As he watched the sun come up over the city....He could hear the birds waking up....There was so much life out there....And he would be the one to kill it all.....He just sighed and looked down at the piece of paper....He started to rip it apart as he got kinda angry at himself....But he stopped himself just in time from doing that....This was for Tifa....He couldn't do that....He just slipped the song back in his pocket and buried his face in his hand as he placed his elbow on his arm chair and sighed.....

"Hey....." Tifa said wrapping her arms around Cloud's shoulders from the back of the chair. " I had a feeling you would be up here again...." She whispered as she rested her head on his shoulders. She knew something was wrong, it was obvious even when he really didn't say anything.

Was it the nightmares that he continued to dream, or the thoughts that he would be the one to destroy their world? Tifa sighed not really want to think about both.The only thing she could do to help was try and cheer him up, support and help him as she always did.

She wished she could do more for Cloud, but she knew nothing about l'Cie other than the information Cloud already told her. Maybe if she knew more, just maybe then she could help him. That was just a thought but for now she kept it for herself.

"Hey....." Cloud jumped slightly as she came up from behind and wrapped her arms around from the back....And he relaxed when he knew it was....And just smiled.

" I had a feeling you would be up here again...."

"Yeah. I had a lot to think about....I..didn't sleep at all last night...Hey....Happy birth day..." Cloud said as he turned his face slightly and kissed the top of her hand...As he grabbed it with his own...He was able to tell her everything now. Now that they were indeed a couple....She knew everything about him....And he knew all about her. She was certainly not one to hide things from him. Cloud just looked out at the beautiful sky....He was glad it was sunny skies on her birth day.....

"Sorry...." Tifa said removing her hands once she noticed that she startled him. She stood there lifting her gaze till her eyes met his mako blue. "So what are you doing up here....?" She asked tilting her head as a smile curved on her lips.

Hearing that he didn't sleep at all last night replaced her smile with a slight frown. "Was it another one of those nightmares.... or did it have something to do with your brand...." She asked in a low tone.

Her eyes drifted to the floor to hold back a few tears that now threatened to fall. If it was a bad dream or his brand was acting up again then why didn't he wake her? "Cloud...." she lifted her head slowly to meet his eyes again before hearing his words.

"My birthday is not till four days later..... and I already told you we don't need to celebrate this year so no need to get me anything remember....?" She asked moving in front of him then taking his arms to wrap them around her as her head rested on his shoulder. "All I want is for you to be happy...." She muttered in a whisper.

"Sorry...." "So what are you doing up here....?" "Was it another one of those nightmares.... or did it have something to do with your brand...."

"Neither...I just couldn't sleep...."

"Cloud...." "My birthday is not till four days later..... and I already told you we don't need to celebrate this year so no need to get me anything remember....?" He felt her wrap his arms around her as he smiled...And held on to her...."All I want is for you to be happy...."

Another smile....."But..But I want to celebrate....Your birthday is definitely some thing to celebrate....That would make me happy...." Cloud wanted to make sure she had a great birthday...Even if he had to throw her a surprise party.....And hide it all from her.....He already knew what he was gonna get her...A pet....A kitty....Some thing she always wanted....But he was not gonna tell her that....But he was gonna give her his poem....

"I uh...Couldn't sleep so I used my time wisely.....Here....I wrote you a poem...." He pulled out the poem and gave it to her....."It says everything I love about you and I'd do for you....I hope you like it...." Cloud was a bit nervous....He hasn't written a poem in a long time....He hoped she would like it.....

Tifa sighed in relief once she knew that neither of her thoughts were true. There was no need to worry then? She smiled closing her eyes as she wrapped her own arms around Cloud. "I am glad then.... but you know you still should try harder to get some sleep. You need your rest..... we both do if we are going to work in the morning......" She reminded Cloud but it was still to early for that yet. They probably had at least an hour or two till it was time to open the bar.

She smiled at his words would he really be happy if they celebrated her birthday? "Cloud....." She whispered his name slowly lifting her eyes to gaze into his again. "We don't need to celebrate my birthday this year..... your already going through a lot I don't want to trouble you with this also..... just seeing your smile would be enough to make me happy...." Tifa replied with a smile on her lips before taking the note from Cloud.

From just reading the first line tears formed in eyes. His words, Tifa never thought he felt so strongly about her. She was speechless when she finished reading, but she lifted her head up to Cloud's and leaned closer to kiss him passionately.

"I am glad then.... but you know you still should try harder to get some sleep. You need your rest..... we both do if we are going to work in the morning......"

He sighed when she said he needed to get more rest....

"Cloud....."

"We don't need to celebrate my birthday this year..... your already going through a lot I don't want to trouble you with this also..... just seeing your smile would be enough to make me happy...."

He was prepared to say some thing to back that up with when she came out of the blew and gave him a passionate kiss....This was his weakness of course.....She would always almost get everything she wanted....He placed his fingers on her cheeks and wiped away her tears as he kissed her back....So that told him....She loved the poem.

He broke the kiss....

"Phew...I take it you loved the poem...." He smiled as he placed his fore head on hers and smiled sweetly....He was still going to get her the present she wanted though....Even if she would be able to talk him out of a party....

For a moment Tifa lost her voice, even when she opened her mouth to speak nothing came out. She took a few breaths till she found the words to say after his reply."Of course I loved it.... Cloud...." Tifa replied with a smile. She glanced down at the poem again as her tears fell again from just reading the first few words. She was touched that he actually felt that way towards her.

He never expressed his feelings towards her, so she never really knew that he loved her so deeply. "I never knew..... that you felt this way towards me...." She replied her cheeks now flushed read but Tifa really didn't care. She smiled glancing back up into Cloud's eyes before wrapping her arms around him in a warm embrace.

"Of course I loved it.... Cloud...." "I never knew..... that you felt this way towards me...."

He smiled as she embraced him....And he did the same for her and wrapped his arms around her....As he just closed his eyes to savor the moment....

"Tifa...I'd do any thing for you, you know that right? Yeah...I've felt some thing for you when I was younger....But I was just scared to tell you....And I left....And...I never thought I'd see you again...And I...I just felt stronger for you then...But then...This whole l'Cie thing...And well, let's just say it woke me up...I had to tell you Tifa....Before....Before it was too late...I love you Tifa....And now....I'm never gonna let you go...." He still hugged her...The thought of loosing her brought tears to his eyes...The thought of killing her made it worse....."I can't do this...."

Tifa turned in Cloud's arms to glance out at the clear blue sky then back into his mako blue as she listened to his words. Her thoughts wandered to the past, what he said reminded her of their childhood. A chuckle escaped her lips as she remembered how she tried to drop hints about liking him every change she got.

"back then..... I always tried to get you to notice how much I cared about you... I even asked you to be my hero and still you didn't say anything... and now.... I don't know I guess I should be grateful to the l'Cie thing at least now we are together...."

She paused for a moment turning to fully face him in his arms. "Cloud... we will get though this together like we did before through everything Sephiroth... the stigma we will make it through this together.... and don't forget we have our wedding to look forward too..." she added reminding him of their engagement, the vary thought curved a smile on her lips.

"Back then..... I always tried to get you to notice how much I cared about you... I even asked you to be my hero and still you didn't say anything... and now.... I don't know I guess I should be grateful to the l'Cie thing at least now we are together...."

"Cloud... we will get though this together like we did before through everything Sephiroth... the stigma we will make it through this together.... and don't forget we have our wedding to look forward too..."

Cloud let a smile show on his face. He knew that....But some thing deep down told him that there was no way to stop it this time. It was getting impossible to stay here at 7Th Heaven.....A lot of people were finding out what he was. He was so not careful at keeping this all under wraps....

"Yeah....We do. Tifa everyone knows what I am now....I'm not sure if I can even live here any more....I love you too much. To get you hurt. Just let me leave for a few days....Then I'll call you where I am okay....And I'll let you join me...Tifa...I can't afford to stay here any more....It's lives that are in stake if I do....You know how PSICOM soldiers are....They'll kill without question if you are in league with some one like me...."

He leaned in a gave her a kiss....She would probably tell from that kiss that he didn't wanna leave her at all....

"I love you. You're safer though without me around....When I get to see you again, you better be ready to marry me....And then....spend the rest of your life with me...."

At that he backed away from her...This was some thing he really hating doing....He was leaving again....But for the right reasons and he was not leaving her completely either.....They just had to find a safer place other than here.....For now.....

His words caused her to stop and gasp once he said he would leave again. For a moment Tifa couldn't say anything as she stood there listening to his words. She still couldn't believe that he would leave just like that because he thought it would be dangerous for her to be seen with him. "Cloud........ you can't....."

When the kiss came tears escaped her eyes, she couldn't believe that he really was leaving. "Cloud wait..... didn't we say we would do this together....? I am already in this and I don't care about the danger..... isn't that why we let the kids stay with Barret..... this is your home..... please don't leave....." Tifa tried to hold the rest of her tears back as she held Cloud's hand hoping he would listen instead of running away again.

"Cloud........ you can't....." "Cloud wait..... didn't we say we would do this together....? I am already in this and I don't care about the danger..... isn't that why we let the kids stay with Barret..... this is your home..... please don't leave....."

Cloud was hanging his head as he let her hang on to his hand. She had a pretty good grip on it. Knowing that, he knew she wouldn't let him leave with out a fight. He was tearing up as he heard what she said. But this time it was so different. He always came back to her in the end....This time he wouldn't be coming back. That was why he wanted her to be there with him....As much as possible. He knew why she sent the kids to see Barret. To keep them from knowing. And to keep them safe. So if the PSICOM Soldiers ever came to the bar, the kids would not get mixed in this. He shook his head as she finished talking...

"Tifa....You're making this very hard on me ya know. I'm scared to sleep because I see your death in my dreams. Tifa...This time won't be so easy for us. You know I won't be coming back. And when I do wake up...You'll be....dead. Because of me. I wanna marry you before this happens....Can you at least do that for me? Let me go....When I get to a safe place, I'll call you. About the church thing...We might have to change that....To just a small wedding....Now that things are getting more complicated....This is the last time I'll see this as my home....I love you....Be safe until I see you again....And don't do any thing reckless...Promise me...." He never let go of her hand.....

Tifa stood there in disbelieve as she listened to Cloud's words. Her vision got blurry as tears filled her eyes but she instantly turned to hide them from Cloud. "Why...... why do you keep doing this...?" She asked trying to keep her voice from shaking. "Why are you running away again didn't we discuss this...... didn't we say that we would do this together as a family..... I am already in this Cloud I chose to stand by your side even when I know the truth.... so why.....?" her voice failed her at the last question and she looked down with a sigh.

The tears Tifa had been fighting to control streamed down her cheeks but she wiped them immediately before turning around to look at Cloud. She sighed and shook her head. "I.... Cloud I am sorry but I can't..... I can't promise that...."

"Why...... why do you keep doing this...?" "Why are you running away again didn't we discuss this...... didn't we say that we would do this together as a family..... I am already in this Cloud I chose to stand by your side even when I know the truth.... so why.....?"

Cloud couldn't look at her as she said that. He just shook his head. This was bigger than the other things they've been through. Didn't she see that?

"Tifa...."

"I.... Cloud I am sorry but I can't..... I can't promise that...."

He then let go of her hand....As he heard her voice breaking. He knew she was trying to hide her tears from him this time. But, he knew she was crying. Why did he even ask her to keep that promise for him? He knew how she was. But he guessed she would. He walked over to her and grabbed her in a hug....They were both quiet for a few seconds....And then he let her go....Just like that he let her go....

"I see....I know you too well to even keep that promise." He just turned away from her then and started to walk away from her. "Just stay safe...." And he soon walked down the stairs and out the door and walked over to his bike and got on and revved it up and rode away from the bar.....He felt bad just leaving her like that.....But she was better off and much more safe with out him when PSICOM was in the area looking for him......
