Genesis sat a top a fairly tall building, reading Loveless as if to pronounce it to the bustling city below.
"When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting."
He paused as the wind picked up as if in response to his chant like reading. He allowed his black wing to flourish in the light, and the wind stripped some of his feathers off and showered the people below him. He smiled, it was like he was granting the city a glimpse of a descending Goddess. He decided to continue his reading, his voice rising passionately.
"Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take to the sky Ripples form on the water's surface The wandering soul knows no rest!"
He was consumed by the story now. It's beauty inspired him to continued reading, but he instead took a chance to glance at his audience. Many of them looked on in awe at him, entranced most likely by his wing. Some whispered about his time in Soldier, and others panicked in rememberance of his etchy past and silently fled. He smiled at the people below him, he WOULD be known as a Hero, no matter what it took...

What the hell was he doing here still? Squall had lost the two young cadets, Fate Lingod and Sonuske Asuma. Well, lost wasn't the correct word. It was more like they were taken through enough portal. ...Maybe they're back in our world. So now all Squall had to do was get home. So now he was forced to wait for a portal.
After traveling for a while, Squall found himself in this... City (Midgar?). That's when he notice it; the tallest building in the city. ... Perfect. He found his way to the top of the building only to be surprised that they was a strange character already here. He was reciting something and Squall sighed. He knew he was going to regret the decision to talk to this man. But he had a strange feeling that maybe this man could help him.
"... First person I seen here to be reading." Squall stood back a good distance with his hand on the hilt of his gunblade. He stared at the man. He was different from the people that he had ran into on this world. Squall could tell that just by looking at his appearance. "Squall Leonhart," He stated, "I think... You could help me."

Genesis was just about to continue his poetic readings when he was interrupted by a voice behind him. He turned in time to catch him say,
"... First person I seen here to be reading."
He tucked his black wing inward, letting it still be seen in this resting position. he smiled at the new comer before speaking, "You'll find that most people here are not quite as elequent as I." The man began speaking once more, grabbing firmly onto his strange sword and keeping his distance.
"Squall Leonhart, I think... You could help me."
He bowed low to the man before straightening back up. "Genesis Rhapsodos, and I'd be more than glad to help you." He said warmly, inviting Squall to loosen up. "Come now, what can I help you with?" he said stepping surely towards the man and closing the gap between them. "Anything for a stranger."
Feeling the need to qoute Loveless, he did, "There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess."

Okay, what was up with this guy? The black wing, the way he spoke, and his appearance. It was safe to say that this guy happened to be one of the strangest people he has met to date. Genesis Rhapsodos… Even his name was strange. Then again, Squall’s name wasn’t that normal either. Whatever… Just come out with the truth.
”Nice to meet you… Genesis. I’ll jump straight to the point.” [/b][/color] As Genesis started to him, Squall’s eyes never left the man. You could never be too safe in Gaia. But then he started to quote from that book again. Squall sighed. ”I’m not from this world. I’m trying to get back to my own world…” He placed his right hand on his forehead and lowered his head slightly, ”I need help getting back… For some reason I thought you might be the guy for the job…”Squall knew that this had to sound crazy, but it was true. He wished it wasn’t. He missed his world so much that he was willing to spend a whole day with Zell. Yeah, he was that desperate. ”So… What do you say?”[/blockquote]

”Nice to meet you… Genesis. I’ll jump straight to the point. I’m not from this world. I’m trying to get back to my own world… I need help getting back… For some reason I thought you might be the guy for the job…”
He scoffed, "My my, jump straight into the heart of the problem then. I suppose I could help you to the best of my abilities." He willed away the wing on his back and it dissapeared in a flurry of black feathers. Genesis assumed that this Squall character had exited from one of those newly found portals. The first thing they needed to do was figure out where the portal was, how it worked, and if it moved.
He came back from his thoughts, "Am I to assume that you came from one of those portals. Well let us approuch this logicaly. Where did you exit from the portal, and how much do you know about them?" he needed to know as much as possible, for his own gain as well as this new man here.

Well, this guy was pretty generous. Squall wasn't expecting the man to just basically say 'yes.' If someone came up to him with this other worldy ideas he would think them mad. He must have had experience with those portals just as Squall did. Hopefully, he knew much more than Squall though or this would just be a complete bust. "Thank you... I greatly appreciate it Genesis."
At least he isn't annoying as those other two... They better have made it home.
Squall didn't know anything about the portals really. He knew it was the reason he was here... Well, actually that was Fate's fault. But the portal had brought him here. "The only information I have on these... portals is that they're capable of taking people, me in this case, to different worlds." The story of Squall's life. He always ended up doing something that he really didn't want to do. "The location of the portal.... Sector 7, close by a bar. I can show you the exact location."

Genesis had an immense knowledge base on magic and it's structures. If he could find one of these 'Portals' he was sure to be able to figure all he needed to know about them, and maybe how to use them for his own devices.
""Thank you... I greatly appreciate it Genesis."
"Think nothing of it, Squall you said? It is merely a gesture of kindness to someone who is new to this world." First he needed to know all that Squall knew, and where to find this portal.
"The only information I have on these... portals is that they're capable of taking people, me in this case, to different worlds. The location of the portal.... Sector 7, close by a bar. I can show you the exact location."
Well, 1 out of 2 was better than he could ask for. "Well, I suppose you'd better lead the way then. Best to get this started as soon as possible."

Genesis seemed like a nice, cool guy. If only he lay off on reciting those lines from that book he actually be really cool. Still, Squall had a strange feeling that being with this guy would lead to trouble. But that was something he would have to deal with seeing as this was the only person he met so far that would help him get home. Squall had to know who or what he was traveling with. "That wing... You are human, right?"
Not that Squall had a problem with any other spieces. On his world, the Shumi weren't exactly human, but they were kind people. Kind, yellow, unattractive people. "Follow me. Luckily, we don't have far to walk." Look at Squall being all sociable. If Rinoa was here she would surely teased him about it... He wished Rinoa was here. He had to get home! "Didn't mean to be rude about the wing. It's just that where i'm from people with wings are usually sorceress or sorcerers..." ....Ultimecia...

"That wing... You are human, right?"
"Hmm? Oh yes..." Genesis had hardly noticed it anymore, his wing was more a reaction than a limb anymore. "Well, I suppose for the most part I'm human. This Squall needed not a backstory of his life at present moment, the focus here was the portals. "Shall we move then? I may tell you more about my 'wing' on the way, but for now time's wasting and we do not know if the portals move or not."
"Follow me. Luckily, we don't have far to walk."
Genesis of course did so, but anticipating a leap to the ground he jumped ahead, gliding slowly to the flat hand and hovering a bit before landing. With his black wing asunder of course.
"Didn't mean to be rude about the wing. It's just that where I'm from people with wings are usually sorceress or sorcerers..."
"You needn't appologize for your curiosity. But it depends on what you mean by 'sorcerer'. In the sense that I practice magic? Then yes." A hot ball of fire appeared in his hand and licked about fingers. "But something tells me that your 'sorcerers' may be a little different than what the norm is here." He smiled as he spoke.

"Yeah... Let's move on." It wasn't that Squall was interested in the man's backstory. He just wanted to know exactly what he was dealing with. Suddenly, the man leaped from the building. It would have came as a completely shock, but Squall figured that's what that wing was for. Sadly, Squall wasn't capable of that. HE DIDN'T HAVE A WING TO GLIDE DOWN WITH!!! Isn't he... Flamboyant.
Squall shook his head for a moment, placing his right hand on his forehead. Well, it was best not to keep the man waiting. He right hand fell upon the hilt of his gunblade. He jumped from the bulding, making sure he stayed extremely close to it. He waited a moment until he was about twenty-five feet from the ground. He spun, turning his body to the building as he slammed the blade of the gunblade into the hard concrete of the building. His body weight pulled the boy down allowing him to get closer to the ground, about sixteen feet from the ground now. He pushed off the building, pulling his gunblade away and flipping off the wall. He landed on the ground and placed his gunblade back at his waist. "Something like that..." Squall said, eyeing the fireball. "Just a little different..."

In an attempt to show off or atleast match Genesis' enthusiasm, Squall did a flourish of flips and jumps through the air before latching onto the wall and leaping to the ground. The flame dissapeared as Squall landed in front of him.
"Something like that... Just a little different..."
"Bravo, by the way, not only for the circus like jump," Genesis pointed at the scar on the building that Squall had just left, "But also for the lovely addition to the gray monstrosity over there." He scoffed. "Well then shall we? Or would you rather waste valuable time damaging the city further?"
