Zack
He was on his way back to Aerith’s church. Just a few hours ago he had come back to life, and Cloud had found him at Aerith’s church. Now he was on his way back, this time he couldn’t keep the feelings of excitement out of his body. He was going to see Aerith again, he was back, she was alive, he could have a chance to tell her…tell her that he loved her. He always had, from that first moment he laid eyes on her he had loved her, why hadn’t he ever told her? Sure his job had kept him away, but that was no excuse. He hadn’t thought he would ever die, and since he had been only 19 the last time he saw her, he supposed that he just hadn’t thought tot serious about having a life other then the one he had.
Cloud had taken him back to the Seventh heaven, and offered to let him stay with them there. He had agreed, especially since there was no other place for him to go at the moment. He realized full well he was going to have to do something or have a job somewhere, since ShinRa was gone he would have to find anything else. Not that he would want to work for ShinRa ever again anyway, but all he knew was fighting and weapons. Maybe he could think of something to do with that… He still wore his SOLDIER clothes, not bothering to change out of them. Maybe he should go shopping…but something told him he would need to fight, and it was easier to do in his uniform then in normal clothes.
When Cloud had told him that he had seen Aerith Zack had been radiant, she was alive as well! On the way to seventh Heaven Zack had been a bundle of nerves, just wanting to see her, but she hadn’t been there. Looking at the clock, Zack knew where she would be…at her church. So he had told Cloud that he couldn’t wait for her to come back, and had started on his way to the church. He was used to running everywhere, so he jogged towards sector five and the church, his breath coming easily even with him running.
As he jogged through the ruins of Midgar he was a bit in wonderment that Midgar had been leveled. Sure Cloud had told him about Meteor, but still…it was Midgar, he hadn’t thought anything or anyone could truly level the city…leave it to Sephiroth. And then he was there…slowing down to a walk he mounted the stairs once again for the second time in a few hours. Would she truly be there? Blue eyes sparkled as he once again pushed open the doors to the church…. |

Aerith was all alone in the church that after nood. Planting more flowers for her they were the vry exsistance of life. She took care of the flowers like they were her children. In a way they were. Her loneliness made her mind wander. She had no one to talk to lately. Well Cloud & Tifa. But she wanted some one else to talk to. Some one that she knew in her other life....Zack Fair. Not having a cell phone she couldn't call Tifa nor Cloud. She was a lone most of the time waiting for her prince to return to her. She sighed as she grabbed her planting soil. She had been working hard to get every thing back she worked so hard for. A memory flashed in her head just then...."Hey, why not make money off these flowers...you could sell them around here....." Zack popped in her head then...."OK, here's a list of the things I need for that. You promise to come back right...?" As Aerith heard that in her head she smiled....But when Zack did not come back she knew some thing awful had happened.....
Aerith was back for a reason though. Not to see Zack...But she would not waste that opportunity if she could see him again...She misses Zack a lot it hurt her at night to fall asleep. She even cried a few nights when she came back and he was not there with her. But soon she just dealt with the notion that he was never coming back. So she went on with her life....But nothing stopped her from keeping his memory alive....She had a job to do. To protect the best friend of her love. Cloud Strife. She hated being back for that reason. But she was obviously the perdect being a Certa to protect a Soldier like Cloud until he completed his focus....She had to make sure he stayed alive untio then....Which would be about a year....If she completes her duty she can remain on this earth and have another chance....But if she does not she will be sent back to the Life Stream....
Aerith was kneeling as she tended to her flowers and watered them from a flower spout bucket Tifa lent her....She then heard the doors of the church open....And she turned her head to see who it was....She put down her tools and walked towards the entrance but stopped instantly as she saw who it was.....
"Can it be.....Zack?" Her heat skipped a few beats! As she saw the love of her life in front of her....Just as he was the day he left....She felt tears water in her eyes as she then ran up to him and embraced him in a hug! "You are here!"

The Puppy [/color][/u] Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. When he walked in from the bright afternoon, his eyes weren’t adjusted to be able to see in the darker lit church. But he thought he would die from disappointment if she wasn’t. He had waited for this, and now…he couldn’t wait to see her again, to touch her, to hear her voice. And then he closed the door behind him and turned around, blue eyes searching for the one woman he had ever truly loved. And then he saw her…an Angel, even if she denied it. She was kneeling, tending her flowers, her hair down her back as she turned to see who it was. He was a bit hidden, in the darkness, awe struck that she was here, and so he didn’t say anything, just stood staring at her.
And then she recognized him, and he just smiled as she ran toward him. He opened his arms up and caught her up in a hug. He had seen the tears in her eyes as she said that he was here. “Aerith…You’re here! I was afraid I wouldn’t…find you.” He drew back a bit and looked into her large green eyes. And then his eyes went upward to her pink bow. He was shocked that she was still wearing it. “Aerith…your…still wearing it!”
He felt that smile come up on his lips as he looked at her, just hungry to see her. He saw the tears and wiped them from her eyes gently, “I missed you so much!” He couldn’t believe that he had found her, maybe now he would have a second chance at life, at Aerith…”When Cloud told me you were alive I couldn’t get here fast enough!” He glanced around and felt all the emotion and memories he had in this run down church with the beautiful Aerith. Another smile lifted on his face remembering the first time he had ever met the young girl that would later be the only girl he ever fell in love with.

“Aerith…You’re here! I was afraid I wouldn’t…find you.”
“Aerith…your…still wearing it!” Aerith couldn't help but give him a giggle as he noticed that she was still wearing his bow that he bought her.....
"I promised I'd never take it off didn't I?" She blushed lightly then.....
“I missed you so much!” She got chills as he wiped away her tears....She's learned so much from him....Even what a date was....And now she knew her feelings for him was true to her heart....He was the one....
”When Cloud told me you were alive I couldn’t get here fast enough!” Good old Cloud always able to know where she was....But that did not stop her tears from falling either....She lifted up her hand placed it on his cheek then....."Cloud always finds me.....Zack....There is a reason I'm back....Di---Did Cloud tell you any thing yet?" She knew Cloud made her promise not to tell any one.....But Zack was Cloud's best friend! He deserved to know everything!

Zack just smiled when she told him that she had promised never to take it off. “Yes you did but I didn’t think…its been so long!” He shook his head happily and noticed that a little blush had crept up her cheeks. “I think now you should agree to go on a date with me Aerith!” He said with a smile on his face, his voice teasing and serious all at the same time. When she touched his cheek with her hand he put his arms around her waist in a simi hug. His mako blue eyes smiled at her as she looked up at him. He thought about leaning down to kiss her as her green eyes captivated him. And then she asked him if Cloud told him anything yet. He was a bit confused, “Tell me…what? Not that I know of.” And then he wrinkled his brow, his attention off of Aerith for a moment. What would Cloud not tell him..? Cloud told him a lot, or at least he thought he had, maybe Cloud was hiding a bunch of things from him. He didn’t like the thought, why would Cloud hide anything from him? He had always listened to everything Cloud had said and had always been there for him. Why now…his blue eyes changed a little bit. He couldn’t understand…but what Aerith had said made him think hard and he wasn’t going to stop. He was going to ask Cloud about it. “Is Cloud hiding something from me?” He wished he knew, he would always be there for Cloud, but he also knew Cloud liked to keep things to himself. He respected that, but he also wished he would tell him more. He glanced down at Aerith again, she would tell him...right? She of all people couldn't hide anything from him could she? |

“Yes you did but I didn’t think…its been so long!” “I think now you should agree to go on a date with me Aerith!” She looked up and blushed…Yes, now she knew what a date was! And she looked back down and wanted to say yes but she was lost for words….
“Tell me…what? Not that I know of.” “Is Cloud hiding something from me?” Then, he broke her nerves…As she backed away from him then with her hands clasped together. As though she was begging him not to be mad at her…
”Please…Don’t hate me if I tell you this…But there is some thing he is hiding from you…Zack do you remember what happened before you left the Life Stream? If so, then you will know why you are here….To help Cloud. Like me. You are here to help him and his friends understand the reason of what Cloud is now…A L’Cie…You know what a L’Cie too…I don’t have to explain all that to you. When you are with me you know things that most do not. I told you in the Life Stream what a L’Cie was and as well as a Fal’Cie….Cloud has become a L’Cie Zack…He might try and hide it from you…He actually made me promise not to tell you…But you have a right to know this…Since you are his best friend. His focus is to, destroy Gaia….He has a year to complete his focus….You know what will happen if he doesn’t…And I’m not gonna let Tifa go through that. Just please….Don’t hate me…Or Cloud. I’m scared for him Zack…I really need you now….I love you so much…”
Zack would see the pain in her eyes. But Aerith had lowered her own head and started to sob as she hid her face with her palm and wrapped her other arm across her stomach area…She was really upset. She knew there would be pain in this….But not this much…she had to find a way to protect everyone in Gaia….and that idea had not come yet to her…She was an Ancient that’s how she found out about this news while in the Life Stream…The planet talks to her every where she goes….

::...The Puppy...:: [/color][/u] Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. He waved his hand and laughed when she looked down and blushed, “Its ok there’s plenty of time for dates later right? Since I’m going to stay alive this time…with you.” He said softly. He drew his brows together as she backed away and clasped her hands together. The look on her face was that of misery, almost begging him not to be mad at her. He raised a hand after her, but let it drop as she started talking. He had no idea why she would give him that look, how could he be mad at her for anything? She was an Angel, perfect, and no matter how hard he tried he didn’t think he could ever truly be mad at her. His eyes were compassionate, although he had no idea why she thought he would be mad at her. For once he remained silent.
“Aerith! I could Never…” But then he trailed off to give her his attention while she spoke. He crossed his arms over his chest when she said that he was indeed hiding something. It hurt him to know that, since he had always thought of Cloud as his best friend…why would he be scared to tell him anything? He nodded, “I have faint memories of what happened…they keep coming back to me although some of them are fuzzy…something about trying to keep a…Yazoo? From coming back out, that I remember clearly!” He nodded, he had had this feeling that he was back for something more then just life. When she spoke the world l’cie it served to jump start his mind. He suddenly remembered what she had told him about a l’cie and nodded again. His mouth dropped open when she said that Cloud was a l’cie. “What?! No way he can’t be! That means…” he trailed off, remembering what happened to the l’cie, and what they had to do. She just confirmed it, and he shook his head and backed up a step, blown away. But he knew it was…and then he wished more then ever Cloud would trust him enough to tell him. How could Cloud deal with that at all?! But given a few seconds to digest it he calmed down and thought hard about what she had told him. For some reason he should have seen it coming. “Thank you for telling me…”Looking up he saw the pain in her eyes and he felt like his heart was being ripped out of his chest just because of the pain she was going through. In 3 large steps he was beside her, and reaching out he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his arms and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. He held her close and felt her pain and anguish. “Its alright Aerith! Everything will work out in the end, we’ll…find a way to make everything right!” Whispering to her, “I’ll always be here for you to lean on…I love you more then anything!” |

“Its alright Aerith! Everything will work out in the end, we’ll…find a way to make everything right!” Aerith gasped as he hugged her.
“I’ll always be here for you to lean on…I love you more then anything!” She gasped again as she heard him say that he loved her. He's never told her that before....."Z...Zack....You love me?" She asked with a trembling voice inside her. She couldn't believe he said he loved her! She looked up into his beautiful Mako blue eyes then....And was trembling....She's never had this kind of love before. She guessed she should've known all along that he loved her. It was quite obvious. He showed her all the signs of that kind of feeling towards her in their past life....
She then smiled as tears fell from her eyes. She was happy again! A lot more happier than she was when she returned back...And she made it clear to Tifa that Zack was the only one in her heart....Cloud could never fill that position....Not like Zack can. Aerith felt her cheeks warm up was she blushing? She felt her cheeks then! Oh my gosh she was! She looked down then....Sorta embarrassed....
But why was she? She was with Zack....The only one in her life that could make her feel like she was beautiful and worth some thing...And not just because she was an Ancient either or some one's experiment.....

That time when he had been on the run and Dragging Cloud along with him he had wanted to go to Midgar just to tell her. That in fact had been the only reason he had ventured to go to Midgar, to see her. “Yes. I never got to tell you before…when I…died, I was on my way to tell you. I was so desperate that you had forgotten me. Right outside of Midgar the army found me though, so I never got to tell you…” As he trailed off he felt the red creeping up his neck. He looked down at her pretty green eyes and felt that blush on his cheeks. For some reason he had always been shy when it came to actually telling her his true feelings, although he had sent a letter to his parents telling them about his girl friend, which had in fact been Aerith. She was trembling…at that rate so was he inside. Outside he was smiling, even though he was blushing. Once again tears fell from her eyes and once more he brought up his hand to wipe them away. “I hope those are happy tears!” He said as he watched her put her hand to her cheek and blush even more. He could tell she was somewhat embarrassed, “Are you…staying with Cloud and Tifa then?” Cloud had offered him a place to stay for awhile, until he got his feet under himself again. Glancing at while she looked down he smiled, “Your so beautiful Aerith…” |

“I hope those are happy tears!” She blushed…And was happy! She couldn’t believe herself….That she was actually being loved as a human being not at as some thing else…She was just in awe with Zack’s moves on her….First a tight hug and then a wipe with his thumbs on his cheeks what’s next a kiss? She wanted that more than any thing roght now! He was making her weak in the knees! She was falling for him! She already fallen for him though! Before she died…..But she never got a chance to show him these type of feelings…..
“Are you…staying with Cloud and Tifa then?” She nodded silently at him with a smile….
“Your so beautiful Aerith…” Another blush happened as she looked into his Mako blue eyes….Now all was out in the open between them….Nothing would be able to tear them apart again! Aerith was going to protect Zack just as he would protect her…A smiled came across her lips then….She was happy! And trembling….But with excitement…
”Zack….You’re beautiful…You always were to me….I’m glad your look has not changed one bit….We sure did surprise our friends didn’t we? But there was some thing I’ve always wanted from you….Kiss me…Please…” She was dead serious! She wanted him to kiss her so badly it ached in her own heart! She was close to him but she was wanting that one thing they never ever shared…..

He had Aerith to hold in his arms and now he had told her that he loved her. His best friend alive, and Tifa not angry at him anymore. What more could he ask for? Even if Cloud was a l’cie…things would be alright, he would make sure of that, he and Aerith. Together again…he couldn’t believe after all this time she would still have feelings for him… And now that she was with him he wouldn’t ever let her go! He was always going to be there for her, to be there for her to lean on, to protect her from anyone and anything. He would be there for the good times and the bad…he was never going to go away, never leaving. He wouldn’t let anything come between them. “I’m never leaving…never going to let anything come between us Aerith…” He said quietly, looking down at her with a gentle smile up on his lips. He raised a brow when she said she had always wanted him to kiss her. He pulled her closer to him and leaned down to do just that. Whispering to her, “I’d be happy to.” And then he kissed her gently. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t told her before he had loved her, but what could he have said? He had only been a boy back then… |

“I’m never leaving…never going to let anything come between us Aerith…” “I’d be happy to.”
Aerith saw him move closer and closer....The closer he moved to her, her eyes got heavier and heavier to close....And as soon as his lips touched hers her body came completely numb...As her arms moved upwards and wrapped around his neck....As her fingers played a with the back of his hair...She then felt her mouth opened by accideet....And felt a deeper kiss...It warmed her up all over...
She tried to pull away from him then...."Z...Zack, we're....not here.....for....this...We're here for....Cloud...." She said between the kiss....As she could not help herself....So she was right...She knew this would happen...Before it happened...But they had a duty to do....And that was to protect Cloud at all costs....Her heart raced with his lips in hers....As she lowered her arms and placed them on his chest.....Her nails dug slightly in his skin...She wanted to go all the way....But not now...Especially not now! This was so right though....She could feel that Zack was already the one....All it took was one kiss.

::...The Puppy...:: [/color][/u] Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. He couldn’t believe he was here…with the woman he loved alive on Gaia. Even with the news he had just learned, things would turn out in the end, that was his viewpoint. He had always thought positive though, even when everything had gone wrong. He held her in his arms, so strong and yet so gentle with her. He felt her arms wrap around his neck and his hair being played with. It made him shiver, and yet he wouldn’t go any further then this with her. They weren’t married, it would be wrong, so he just kissed her and enjoyed that. When she half pulled away from him and spoke about them being there for Cloud he nodded and relaxed his arms, still holding her, but not quite so tightly. “I know honey, its alright.” He said softly before leaning down and kissing her on the cheek softly, almost caressingly. “You’re the one for me…but we shouldn’t do anything yet ok?” he said seriously, call him old fashioned, but he thought they should be married, and he hadn’t even asked her, even though he wanted that he was going to wait to ask her until he felt for sure he could support her, and any kids they might possibly have. Red crept up his neck and onto his cheeks, here he was, just meeting her again after years of being dead and he was already thinking about…well he had always wanted a big family, he just hoped he could keep Aerith safe. “lets go slow, for now we should focus on Cloud.” He took one hand off her waist and reached up to hold her hand over his rapidly beating heart, “You do that to me…” he said happily. |

Aerith blushed when he brought her hand up to his heart and made her feel his rapid heart beat....She smiled....But looked down....
"I make your heart race....? Zack...You're the one for me too....You always were....But you're right....We don't need to go to far yet.....At least not until this thing with Cloud is dealt with....OK....Just wait for me please.....Please wait...."
Aerith didn't want to go to far Zack just yet....Although her heart was doing just the same as his was.....He did that to her heart as well....As she was looking down thoughts raced through her mind....What would it be like to be married to a man....? A handsome strong man....Like Zack....She rested her head on his chest then and hugged him tightly....She was so happy to be with him again....And on Gaia.....
Her heart belonged to him....She knew he knew that. She wanted to wait for her own reasons....She wasn't ready for that intense moment for one....The other, she wanted to save herself for marriage....She wanted to do everything right.
She breathed in deeply as she was hugging him....And laying her head on his chest....She felt so safe in his arms.....She knew he could protect her. Every breath he took she was much happier....Her life was not complete with out him in it...She remembered their past together......And she regretted none of it....She was glad to have met Zack when she did....She was just an Ancient.....living in isolation...Basically she hadn't had a lot of visitor except Zack....And when ever he visited she was happy....She was eager to find out every thing about the world above the Slims.....And when ever he had to leave her to go back to work, she silently prayed that he would be alright.....
"I love you Zack Fair....." She said in a low low tone as her head was lifting up finally too look back into those beautiful blue eyes of his....And he reached her hand up and swiped away his bangs....As her hand caressed his cheek....

He smiled, drew her close and looked down at her, “I’ve waited for…well a long time, no matter how long I have to wait, nothing will change the way I feel about you.” Reaching up and touching the ribbon on her head he sighed a bit, “I’m just so glad you waited for me too.” She put her head on his chest and he held her tight, he had always liked girls, every teenage guy does, but once he saw Aerith the first time it had been enough to make him stop chasing girls and want to be with only one. His world had been pretty big, going everywhere that he had, the missions, the fighting had made him go all over Gaia, but that didn’t mean he knew many people. His line of work didn’t leave time open for chitchatting with the folks he met along the way. At least he had gotten to know one…thank god Angeal had attacked him that one time, if he hadn’t…well he might not have ever met Aerith. He would ask her to marry him…just…well they had too much to think about now to think of that. There was Cloud, and the fact that they had just woken up from the lifestream, as well as the fact he couldn’t support her right at the moment. Soon, as soon as he worked things out with Reno, and of course the end of the world as they all knew it. Thinking about that made him wonder, but as always he remained optimistic in thinking it would all work out in the end. He glanced down into her mesmerizing green eyes as she spoke of loving him. “No matter what happens I will always love you…Aerith…” It was true, she was in his heart, and nothing could stop his loving her. He smiled at her and body relaxed all the way…no fighting, only the feeling of the woman he loved in his arms and a gentle breeze running through the church. |
