::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. Zack was walking back toward the Seventh’s Heaven, his mind still on what had happened only a few hours before. Some odd creatures had come out of…well he would describe it as a portal. He had been talking to Reno when they had attacked them. He wasn’t sure what they were, and that bothered him, but needless to say he wished he did. They had been hideous. Reno had said he would look into them but he was going to do the same. Thinking of it he had been seeing more and more portals like that surrounding Gaia. It bothered him, because he felt like he should know about them, but he did not. He wasn’t thinking about where he was going, even though his feet were taking him back to the bar. Suddenly he heard what sounded like glass shattering and a few screams. Glancing around, he started in the direction, his feet moving swiftly into a run. Buster sword hung on his back as he ran toward where the screaming was coming from. Rounding the corner he suddenly skidded to a stop, mako blue eyes opened wide. It was the same creatures he had seen before, the hideous beasts! (Cie’th from FFXIII game that came out of a portal that the fal’cie put up lol) “Oh crap!” He exclaimed as he saw them seemingly mindlessly destroying part of Edge. Right hand went back to grasp the handle of his Sword and pulled it out. “I guess I can’t ever catch a break can I!” He saw that there was 5 of the creatures as he ran toward them. Jumping, he saw it turn toward him as he slashed down at it and felt it roar in anguish. Twisting, he avoided it as it tried to hit him with it’s arm, or whatever you would call it/ he thought to himself, and dropped to the ground again. A smirk was on his face, “want some more?” he spoke as it turned toward him. Though they didn’t seem to think, it had picked him as the target to try to destroy. They held this raw power that was dangerous. Twirling his sword a bit in an almost elegant way he jumped toward it once again, twirling his sword he felt his sword go deep into the beast as it roared and fell to the ground. It writhed a bit before it lay still. “One down.” He said, but by that time the other four had turned to him. They were huge…why was any beast that big anyway? Holding his sword, he just watched as they surrounded him. “Not…good!” he mumbled to himself. He was in for a bit of a battle, but he was confident he could come through it with no problem. If the people around would help instead of gawking at what was happening…but he was used to that, no one helped when it came to the dirty work. [THis is a cie'th in case you haven't played FFXIII! ]

"Hmm?" Called the curious tone of Vincent Valentine as he stared off into the distance. His long black hair curling within the cold wind. Something did not feel right. And that's saying a lot. Why this sudden feeling of uncertainty as well as...well...ill terror seemed to fill his thoughts. What was going on...? Shaking his head, the tall crimson red man used his metallic feet to make his way to where his mind was leading him.
Seems, however, combat was afoot. By the time Vincent made it to the scene, there was a great deal of unexplainable monsters that were gathered around a man with a large sword. Vincent quickly took Cerberus from it's holster and readied himself. One was taken down by the large sword the man carried. Vincent almost thought him to be Cloud, but no.. still, not too many people Vincent knew of that carried such a weapon and used it with such ferocity. Also, the man had darker hair. Although, it did stand on end like Cloud's. A small gasp left Vincent, but his face continued to remain emotionless, and if anything, serious. He may have taken one down, but he had yet to take down the rest, all surrounding him, angered at what he had done.
Now was better then never to step on in.
A sharp glare from his dark red eyes, Vincent took a leap forward, his cloak drifting behind him, with rather pure elegance as well as bad ass beauty. With stead fast aim and a hold of the unique triple barrel gun, Vincent took shot at the first one on Zack's left, hitting it directly in the back. Vincent quickly landed on his feet and continue dot aim and fire off more, and ass soon as he ran out of bullets, his reloading was as fast as a flash, and within moments, his gun was back at full ammo. "I don't know what the hell you are, but you guys don't seem to be the...friendly type." Vincent huffed as he took aim once more. "Not that that's news.."
His eyes scouted to the man who was still, somewhat surrounded, but Vincent got most of their attention. "Don't just stand there." He ordered instinctively.

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. Zack had this quality, an almost devil may care quality when it came to combat. It had subsided from him a little bit since coming back from the lifestream. In his younger years it had been worse, before he had found out that he could be defeated. He had previously thought that no one could touch him, being in SOLDIER and promoted to 1st class so young might have had something to do with it. Though he had grown up somewhat after being shot down by the army, Zack still had this cocky overconfident personality that got him in trouble. As it probably would right now. His skills were great, which often helped to get himself out of situation’s that he got himself into with his cockiness. The smirk on his face showed what he thought of the creatures before him. He wasn’t taking this too seriously, even though they had surrounded him. He should be taking it seriously, but that was Zack. He should learn from all the times he had gotten himself into situations that were bad, but he hadn’t really. And then the beast on his left howled with pain and dropping, started writhing in pain. His eyes went upwards to see a dark haired man leaping forward, his red cloak drifted behind him, making him elegant looking. He cocked a brow, wow someone is actually helping. He thought to himself before suddenly realizing where he was and what it was he was doing. He was forced to remember as the one creature wildly swung its grotesque limb at him. He ducked only to have to dodge roll over another limb that was swung at him. All the while he kept a grip on his massive sword. He crouched there for a second, one hand holding his sword up while the other was flat on the ground, balancing himself. His intense blue eyes looked up as he crouched there. He didn’t know who this man was either, but at the moment his help was appreciated. When the man that seemed too obsessed with Red told him not to just stand there he actually chuckled. “Noted!” And then mako blue eyes picked out two of the monsters. Pushing off with his hand, he jumped up, spun his sword around and came down hard on one of the beasts, the blade of his sword going through its flesh. It roared as he bounced off of that beast and aimed toward the second one. Piercing it through he felt himself propelled upward as it shuddered. Making a spin in midair, he landed on his feet in a graceful fashion. He hadn’t looked at the last beast because it had charged erratically at the black haired man that had come to help him. So he glanced at him to see what had happened...

Vincent nodded when the man finally seemed to move, and fast, given the fact he seemed rather thin to be able to hold that type of weapon with such steady poise. But whatever the case, he seemed to understand what he was meant to do and soon enough, the one monster-like beast began to charge towards Vincent Valentine. He'd have to care for the safety of that one man for a later time. His safety seemed to be rather important now.
"Tch...!" He scoffed as he quickly dashed out of the way of the monster's storming rage. It turned to try and go after Vincent once more. The dust shifted from under Vincent's feet as he made a skidded stop and aimed quickly at the monster's hard to miss head of sorts. Squinting ever so slightly, ignoring the thuds of the large monster's foot steps as he took aim and quickly shot a great amount of fire power into the beasts hide.
It let out a blood curling roar as well as the other creatures did, gaining Vincent's attention to the young man. As he looked, so did the man as they seemed to have both finished off the beasts. And with good timing too. Stepping away from the now dead beast and making his way towards the man, Vincent nodded to him and removed the shells from his gun as he quickly reloaded in case of others were to come. "Do you know what those beasts were?" He asked sternly. Vincent's breathes barely noticeable. He was no where near winded. He had always seemed to face worse then what lingered near the area he stood...still, this was all the more too easy.
He had this gut feeling there were to be more, but perhaps it was just him being rather paranoid, like always. Still, not the most comforting feeling.. And usually his gut was never really wrong..

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. As he turned around he saw that the last beast was now on the ground with no movement coming from it. His gaze went from the beast to the man. It was odd that anyone would help, and though this man had helped, the look on his face stated that he wasn’t exactly the…caring type. He glanced around before settling his sword on his back again. Though he usually always looked for a different way then fighting, at least when it came to humans, when the heat of the fight was on he couldn’t say that he didn’t enjoy it. It made him feel so alive, and believe me that was a big thing when you were dead for years. He didn’t know who he was, but he didn’t look like an average person. Long black hair along with a long red cape and golden claw on his left hand. Red eyes along with huge golden shoes made him raise his eyebrows, but looking into the eyes again he didn’t doubt that he was a man you wanted to leave alone. He seemed capable of much, which he could tell simply because of the way he handled himself while fighting. He glanced at his weapon of choice, and instantly knew that it seemed to be very well modified. He had an eye for weapons, which probably came from being in SOLDIER so long. He saw him nod toward him and did the same, adding a “Heya.” To it though. He cocked his head and crossed his arms as he asked him if he knew what the beasts were. “Not a clue. Believe me I would be happy if I knew what they were.” Glancing at the beasts that lay around he turned and knelt down beside one of them, studying it. “A friend and I were attacked by a few of these things earlier today…I’ve been wondering what they were, especially since…well we actually saw the other ones appear out of what I would call a portal, almost as if from a different world.” “Nice shooting.” Glancing behind him to where the man stood, he had this odd feeling that he should know him. Why? He didn’t think he had ever talked to him before, so why did he have that odd feeling that he should know who he was, or that he had seen him before. Wrinkling his brow he tried to think about it some more. “Do I…know you? I’m Zack by the way, Zack Fair…yourself?” He could swear that he knew the man before him; he was hard to miss, so he dug in his heels and tried to think really hard. Why did he have this feeling?

"Hmmn." Vincent's reply to the small Heya that Zack had spoken to him. Seems like he was one of those folk who had a lighter personality within their heads. Nothing wrong with them. He just better not annoy Vincent.. Sighing, he noticed that the man had no idea as to what these beasts were as well.
"Damn. Why do they attack..?" He asked out int he open for just anyone to answer, even though it was just them standing alone....over a few dead monsters that lingered around. Oder's of their blood began to fill the nostrils of Vincent. He squinted as he did his best to ignore it all for now, placing his gun back into his holster.
The man then explained that he was attacked by some of them earlier, supposedly through a portal of another world of some kind. "Oh? a portal?" He repeated with a tilt of his head as he took a long look at the beast closest to them. A small glance over to the man as he had just commented towards Vincent on his shooting. He chuckled very very lightly and sighed. "Nice swordplay. It...reminded me of a friend of mine." The corners of his lips barely letting out a twinge of a smile.
The man then asked an...interesting question. Do I know you? Vincent raised a brow at the man as he then followed his question with an introduction of himself. Vincent listened in and felt that name was not all that familiar to him. Nothing surprising...but why did this man seem to think he knew Vincent? It didn't make sense... But still, no reason to be any ruder. "Vincent." He replied quickly. "Vincent Valentine." He finished and then looked towards the sword on Zack's back. "No...I do not believe we've met before, Zack." He confirmed as he had finished looking though his thoughts and memories. The was nothing of this man that stood before him, however...that sword was more then familiar...

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. He looked at the man in red as he simply went ‘hmmmn’ in reply to his greeting. Obviously not to much of a talker, what was with people and not wanting to talk? Not that he could say anything since his best friend was one of the quietest people ever, or at least he did not like to talk. Cloud had gotten better at the talking thing though, Tifa seemed to help a lot. He shrugged and stood up when he asked why they had attacked. “I dunno, they didn’t seem like animals of any kind to me. And they were destroying the place when I got here.”He scratched his head with his hand, how was he supposed to explain what they had come out of? “yeah, a portal, like what kids read in comic books…? It’s like…well it seems small, a swirling mass about yay so big.” He said and gestured with his hands the size of a softball. He shrugged, “Anyway the creatures like…came out of it, or so it seemed. We were talking and nothing was there, and then bang, these…creatures appeared and that’s the only possible explanation we could find. I can’t describe it any better then that but I suppose I could show you if you wanted to see…?”He was then compared to this guy’s friend? “Oh? And who is your friend?” He asked good naturedly. If he was going to be compared to someone he wanted to know who it was. He himself had known some damn good swordsmen. That had been quite a few years before though…he noticed that the man laughed so quietly he could barely distinguish it as a laugh…but that was better then nothing. The name…Vincent….he thought if he knew his name that would help him remember why he thought he knew him. No luck. He hadn’t ever heard the name previous to now, but that feeling did not go away. He shrugged somewhat, if he knew it would eventually figure it out. He nodded slowly as he said they had never met. “Hmmm…that’s strange because I swear I recognize you from somewhere…oh well maybe I’m just going crazy!” He said with a chuckle. He held out his right hand to shake, he had noticed the gold claw that Vincent had, but he hadn’t gave it a second look before now. It was quite interesting, but he had been around enough interesting things and people to not really care or question it. “So do you want to see that portal or no?”

"Those were no animals.." Vincent informed the rather well obvious as Zack finished indicating that they were like no animals he had encountered before. Nodding he took another look at the body of the closest one. Yeah..there was something off about them. Vincent didn't like it. Turning his head back to Zack, a loud sigh echoed form Vincent as he shook his head. "I know what a portal is." He informed towards him and placed a hand to his side.
Not to thrilled with the kind of perkiness this man held with him, it really couldn't be helped. Zack had just finished explaining the portal, only to finish with a rather curious question that really caught Vincent's attention. "The portal has not been noted yet? Interesting.." He sighed and walked a few feet from him as well as the dead monsters.
"It would be good to take a look at it. if it can be closed, we should at least try to seal it shut so no one can be more in danger then they already are." Vincent nodded and began to move ahead, but soon stopped as he recalled that he would, most likely need Zack to lead the way. Turning back to him and giving a tilt of his head, not looking one bit pleased, Vincent waited.
Zack, however asked about this friend that Vincent mentioned earlier. He shrugged and looked at the sword once more. "He fights a lot like you... He goes by the name of Cloud." Vincent informed and waited for Zack to make his way towards Vincent.
Again...Zack was being, rather observant and informed to Vincent that he did seem rather familiar to him.. Then finished say thing that he felt as if he was going insane or something along those lines. "Heh.. Maybe you are." Vincent chuckled mildly and nodded towards him when he seemed to ask once more abut the portal, then adding if Vincent wanted to see it.
"Yes, I'd like to. You know the way, I am guessing?"

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. “Agreed.” He said, running his hand through his hair he wondered what exactly they were. He had to fight quite a few different creatures, but none that looked or acted like these. It puzzled him, but there must be some explanation. “So…monsters….” He mused to himself aloud. The blood didn’t bother him all that much. He was used to it, so it didn’t gag him like it did to people that didn’t experience death all that often. The man stated that he knew what a portal was and stood up to his full height. His first thought about this man now that he had talked to him was that he was…not the talkative type, or even really the friendly type. Although he had come to help him so he must be friendly enough…and if he had that friend he mentioned… He shrugged, “Well no, I didn’t report it although I’m sure Reno reported it to ShinRa…which…on second thought might not be a good thing…” He wondered if he should call Reno up and ask him no to tell Rufus ShinRa about it just yet…but he decided not to. What was done was probably already done, so he would just hope Reno hadn’t told anyone that shouldn’t know. It was a good idea that Vincent had when he spoke about trying to close the portal. “Oh yeah, I didn’t really think about other people being in danger…slipped my mind I guess.” He glanced back at the monsters so he didn’t see him move away. If a normal person was pitted against them they would fail…miserably. Maybe he was just cocky, but that was his thought. And so then he turned his head and realized that Vincent had a quite perturbed look on his face. Must not like to be kept waiting. Putting his hands up, he was about to say he would take him there when he said that his friends name was Cloud. He was astonished. This guy knew Cloud? Maybe that was where he knew him from. “Wait! Cloud Strife? You know Cloud?” He took a few steps toward Vincent as he was looking quite impatient. When Vincent agreed that me might be going crazy he chuckled a bit, but somehow he thought that the man meant what he said. “Maybe your right. But that’s besides the point.” But the smile on his face said that he didn’t mind being crazy. “Yeah I know where it is! Lets go!” With that he passed Vincent and waved an arm for Vincent to follow him. “I dunno if it will work to try to close it, but we can try I guess.”

This was beginning to be a real concern to Vincent as he was listening to the fact that Zack did not so ever report the information of said portal. Well, in truth, who was he going to report it to? Would anyone listen let alone care? In time they would with these unexplained monsters beginning to attack the city.
Zack mentioned that Reno most likely had figured it out as well as reporting it in to Shinra. If Vincent's brow could move any lower, it would have. "Reno.." He repeated. "This will be interesting." He sighed and moved his right hand to his forehead, rubbing away whats seemed to be a sooner then expected headache. Although, his brow raised and his arm lowered as Zack mentioned, almost in a kidding sort of way about how people were in danger and whatnot. Vincent, once again, let out another sigh.
This was, indeed, quite interesting. "Really now? Or are you just trying to push my buttons?" He sighed and moved to where the feeling of other creatures were spouting from. This wasn't good. They were beginning to try and invade it seemed... Vincent stares off ahead, just after mentioning about Cloud. Although, that name seemed to have ringed a bell into Zack's young ears. He gained Vincent's attention as he seemed to react rather shocked at the mention of Cloud's name.
"Yes.. Cloud Strife has helped me a lot through the years, I feel friendship is a good way of repaying him." Vincent's reply was concerning as well as true. Cloud had helped him through a great deal of hardships...Being that of a Turk for the many years of his life, he learned about honesty...as well as love... Friendship, then love. The thought of Lucrecia began to invade his mind, but he shook them off for now. At the time, there was more important things at hand.
After a bit of time and Zack admitting himself to be, well...crazy, he then told Vincent he'd lead him to the portal, in doing so, mentioning his way of how it may or may not work in closing. Vincent quickly followed after. "We might as well try!" He stated simply, following suit.

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. He didn’t really give another thought toward the fact that he himself hadn’t reported it. Who would he report it to anyway? And besides, no one would probably care anyway, no one cared about anything besides their own little lives. When did they ever care? He didn’t think ever, because they had never cared previously. So screw them if they get to close. He said in his brain, but then he shrugged to himself. He had grown appalled at the general public with all they did, or didn’t do, but there were good people, and they couldn’t help the fact that they normally couldn’t help people like Cloud, Vincent and himself in combat. They would probably just get in the way anyway, so maybe it was a good thing they didn’t help. He seemed to know Reno too. “Wow you know all of the people I do…you wouldn’t have happened to be tied in with ShinRa would you have…before?” He smiled but shook his head, “Actually yeah it slipped my mind about people being in trouble. We watched it for awhile to see if anything new would come out. And nothing, plus we were in a less…populated area.” He decided that Vincent was a bit of an odd character, not meaning he wasn’t a good person, or anything bad about him. He seemed perturbed at something, and he had sighed more then Zack liked. He glanced at him, wondering what he was so quiet about too. He realized he was speaking a lot more then Vincent, but that was just him. Though he was 23 he had the physical appearance of being 19, although he had always looked older, even if he hadn’t acted like it. Being in SOLDIER hadn’t matured him in some ways even if it had in others. He was just glad he didn’t have to be a SOLDIER and work for ShinRa anymore. ‘SOLDIER is a den of monsters….don’t go in.’ he remembered telling Cloud…to bad Cloud hadn’t listened to him. He cocked his head, “Well we have one friend in common at least!” He glanced over at Vincent, “I Know Cloud to by the way, although I guess I knew him when he says he was ‘nothing.’” He shrugged, he himself had always known that Cloud was going to go places, maybe that was why they were such good friends, or brothers. He shrugged, “Yeah I guess we can try.” With that he started jogging toward where he knew the portal was. It was only a little ways from here when he thought about it, “We should be there in a few minutes if I remember right”

Vincent followed Zack with a quickened pace, but he did not need to rush too far before Zack as, well, he was leading the way. First off, it'd be kinda rude, secondly, Vincent had no idea where this portal was, so he'd have to try and move a bit quickly to keep on his guard as well as to make sure those monsters wont do anything reckless. Soon, however, Zack questioned as to how Vincent seemed to know Reno. And he did. But not for the long run. His brow rose as he was reminded about the times before his little incident and all with Lucrecia and Hojo. Shaking his head, he answered Zack's question. "It was a long time ago..but yes." His voice was deep and cold, but it was just how he felt of the place. He was on his own with a few friends to help along the way, but he was no where involved with the Turks anymore. There was no need to be.
Zack began to speak about how he had known Cloud for a while and whatnot. Tilting his head, Vincent was beginning to think that there was more to Zack then just similarities to Cloud... "Interesting." He poised and carried on. "Maybe you're the friend Cloud would speak of every once in a while..." Vincent figured to himself. Although, Cloud rarely talked about the past when it came to it. As did Vincent.
Still, it was a rather important matter. Zack mentioned that it should be a few more minutes, and Vincent replied with a nod. "Alright. Prepare yourself. There most likely will be more from what I saw back there." He indicated and brought his right hand to Cerberus and swung it from the holster. He was ready in case there was to be combat involved.

::...The Puppy...:: Your gonna be my…Living Legacy. Zack walked fast, he could keep a great pace since he was used to running everywhere on missions, or at least he had been before he had died. His arms swung on either side of him as Vincent seemed to want to rush to where he portal was. He figured if anything had happened it had already done so, so you didn’t need to run there at top speed. They would get there when they got there, which was only a few minutes anyway. He tried to remember exactly where it was and led them there. He suddenly looked over at Vincent as he stated that while it had been a long time before, he had indeed worked for ShinRa. How could he not know him?! “Oh really? What department did you work for? I was in SOLDIER about…well about 4 years ago now.” He wondered just how long ago it could have been. Looking at the guy he decided he couldn’t be any older then his 20s, so it must not have been all that long ago…right? He smiled but looked to the right and left wearily as they neared the spot the portal was at. He himself wondered if there would be more of the creatures when the came upon the portal. Maybe, he was ready for them though. He smiled as Vincent told him to prepare himself. “I’m always ready for whatever comes my way!” He said cockily. True he was cocky, but he also had the muscle and power to back up his mouth…most of the time. Closing his right hand into a fist he repeatedly lightly tapped it into his left gloved hand as they walked. He noticed with a raised brow that Vincent had taken out his gun. “ What kind of gun is that anyway? Its…well…I’ve never quite seen a gun like it lets put it that way.” He left his own sword on his back where it was attached by a heavy magnet in his 1st class SOLDIER outfit.
