Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Waiting for new assignments sucked. Sometimes it took awhile, sometimes it didn't take any time at all, but waiting none the less was just boring and really irritating when you had absolutely nothing to do. Reno sat in the pilots seat of his helicopter as he had it landed on a rooftop in Midgar. So far he had made peace with Tifa and Zack, last was Cloud, but that was for another trip, not today. Today Reno didn't feel like apologizing or getting smacked around with a giant sword. So he sat watching the boring streets and boring people with thier boring lives. Nothing eventful ever came around when you wanted it to. Where were the fights that Reno could pop into? No where to be found. Chewing on a pencil Reno just sat there, his mind drifting into space before he threw the pencil into the back of the helicopter and climbed out. After making sure all doors were securely shut and locked on the chopper, Reno made his way down the fire escape of the building he was once on. Maybe today was a day to get smacked around by a giant sword and apologize, if there wasn't anything else to do...It's not like any other Turks would've come with him to Midgar to just...hang out. Of course Rude did go everywhere with Reno, almost. Today he was on his own and wandering. Maybe a stop by Seventh Heaven, or just pack up and head back to ShinRa HQ. The possibilites were countless....Not. "I wonder what my next assignment will be." Reno muttered to himself as he walked aimlessly around Midgar. "Better not be something stupid."

The SOLDIER found herself walking around Midgar, she had nothing to do so she was taking the time to relax and just enjoy herself, no doubt something would come up to ruin her day. Someone always managed to find things for her to do. Calamity slipped out before anyone could hand her any paperwork so she imagined there would be a nice pile waiting for her when she got back. There was a thought that thrilled her, not. Her red hair caught the sun as she turned a corner, it sometime surprised her just how vibrant her hair really was. She wasn’t going to get lost in a crowd that was for sure. The second of her highly distinguishing features were slightly easier to hide. Her mako coloured eyes. Calamity slipped her shades down over her eyes, hiding them from view. There were days when she’d quite happily go around with her eyes on show but not today. She didn’t want staring and whispering today.
A soft sigh left her lips, she wished she could go out without people staring at her eyes and thinking of the silver haired remnants or Sephiroth…of evil. It was for this reason that she was nearly always seen wearing her shades, except for at night when her eyes didn’t stand out as much as they normally did. Once again Calamity was not dressed in her SOLDIER uniform, instead she wore a simple but smart black shirt and trousers, though the bottoms where hidden by her knee high boots, with a white trench coat that reached her ankles. A little smile crossed her lips as she seen a familiar red headed Turk. He wasn’t very far from her so she barely had to raise her voice for him to hear her. “Well well well, if it isn’t my favourite Turk.” He’d been her favourite Turk for a while, he was the only person that could make her smile without even trying.
“How have you been Reno?” It had been a while since they’d last spoke. She looked away from him, her eyes still hidden behind her shades. She wasn’t ready to let him see her eyes, she knew about all the trouble that he’d had with the remnants.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno started to whistle randomly as he had his hands in his pockets and his eyes wandering. He didn't have anything in mind to do really except wander. He was heading in the direction of Seventh Heaven so maybe he'd stop by and say hi to Tifa or something. Well, that was his plan for now till something caught his eye. Bright red hair, and it wasn't his own for once in a reflection. A smile crossed his face as he recognized Calamity. He half-ran over to her and grinned. "Me? Your favorite Turk? Why of course I mean come on…Its me!” Reno chuckled a bit he always was a more light hearted laid back Turk lately. “Oh I’ve been fine…Just waiting on a new assignment from the boss really…After the Geostigma case not much has really gone on. Sure a few simple tasks here and there, but nothing worth telling about” Reno shrugged some. “How have you been? Its been awhile, I think now is a good time to catch up….I mean if you aren’t busy or anything.” Reno shrugged his shoulders up and down again as his hands remained in his pockets and a smile still on his face, but faded some. “Um…we could grab a bite to eat? Or something.” It sounded too much like a date, but what else was there really to do? Stand in the middle of the street and socialize? Probably not the best idea.

Her delicate fingers ran back through her red hair as he grinned at her. “We both know your awesome Reno, you’re my favourite for a reason.” Calamity winked at him and smiled, there was several reasons why he was her favourite, the main reason was the fact that he always seemed to cheer her up, even when he wasn’t trying. He was good natured and had a brilliant sense of humour, who wouldn’t feel happier around him? Reno was good fun to be around, he made her forget the fact that there was gaps in her memory. A sigh left her lips, things had been very slow since the whole thing with Geostigma, even amongst SOLDIER, hence Calamity finding herself doing a lot of paperwork. Calamity shifted her shades slightly, they’d been falling down her nose. Things had been too quiet recently, that always meant something was going to happen and usually it wasn’t good.
Calamity laughed softly. “Bored, very bored. I’ve been doing a lot of paper work lately…” she bowed her head. “I’m never busy enough to not spend time with my favourite Turk,” she smiled warmly at him, her flame red hair fell in front of her shades. “I’d like that Reno.” The young woman knew that Reno was one of the few people that got to see this side of her, she was always more relaxed around him compared to how she was when on a mission. “I have to hide before people realise that I’ve sneaked out on my paperwork.” A little kid ran up to Calamity, tugging on her coat. She looked down at the kid with a raised brow. “Yes?”
“Why do you always wear sun glasses miss?” the child asked softly.
“People find my eyes scary so I don’t want to scare people,” Calamity smiled at the young lad who seemed to be content with her answer because he ran off. She glanced at Reno. “Anyway…Where do you want to go?”

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno was always happy around Calamity. No specific reason why, he just felt as if he didn’t need to be all serious like how Mr. ShinRa probably wanted him to be. A little fun everyone once and a while never hurt anyone…a lot. “Yeah, I am pretty awesome aren’t I?” He joked around a bit as he usually did. Things had been pretty slow so this was good for Reno, a way to pass time, and catch up, it kept him from being bored and just sitting around ShinRa HQ all day doing nothing. That’s pretty much what everyone else was doing for the time being. Some had missions but Reno? Nope, not lately. His attention was drawn to the fact that she would go hang out with him and such. After all, he was her favorite Turk, as she had said. Reno had always liked Calamity, ever since they met, she just seemed to catch Reno’s eye and become a good friend to him. It was great. With a slight smile and nod of his head he was about to say something regarding where to go to get something to eat before the kid came up to Calamity, asking her about her shades. It wasn’t particularly sunny, or cloudy, but shades weren’t that uncommon…were they? Reno started to think some, and once Calamity responded to the little boy, Reno had to ask, he didn’t even think of his question it just came out. “Your eyes are scary? What…did something happen?” He asked, he didn’t know her eyes were now…well…mako eyes. He had no knowledge of that one bit. So he was more or less concerned now, simply dismissing her last question, which he would get to later, Reno didn’t want to be rude or anything but he was curious to know what she was talking about with the eyes. (hope its okay, i didn't know if reno would know about her having the Jenova cells and what not.)

Her breath caught in her throat, her eyes were wide beneath her shades. These words were not going to be easily said, she closed her eyes as she thought over the words. Calamity placed a hand to her sunglasses, her hand hesitated, stopped. “I once had brilliant blue eyes, cerulean blue…” her free hand moved to her pocket, pulling out her old id card. Right enough there were her vibrant cerulean coloured eyes. She handed him the id and smiled slightly. “That changed when I was seventeen…” Calamity knew that this was where she would struggle, falter. This was where it got hard, difficult. Keeping her eyes closed she removed the shades, she lowered the shades to herself.
The delicate hand that was holding the shades was shaking slightly, a mixture of fear and shame was concealed by her closed eyelids. If she’d just showed him in the first place there wouldn’t be this awkwardness but she only had herself to blame for that hence the shame. For someone as intelligent as she was she could be such an idiot at times.
“When I was young my father sent me to Shinra to have my blood infused with JENOVA cells, I was stronger and faster but other than that it didn’t show as far as I know. When I was seventeen that changed, I fell into a coma and when I woke up…I had no memories and no cerulean coloured eyes…” she paused, pursing her lips. “Instead I had eyes that made everyone think of monsters…Sephiroth…Kadaj…Yazoo…Loz…I can even name them…” she slowly opened her mako green eyes, looking straight at him. Her eyes were sad. Calamity looked away from him. “People see my eyes and think of them, not me, I’ve been…afraid? Is that the right word? I’m not sure, perhaps. I was afraid that you would see them too…” Her eyes met his, not sure what to expect from him.
Calamity bit her lip gently. “I’m sorry for not telling you…I just…didn’t want you to see me as being like them…” Since they’d met Calamity had had a crush on Reno, not that anyone knew that since she could be very good at hiding her feelings so no-one suspected anything and she never acted on it out of fear of rejection, her lack of memories did nothing for her self esteem.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno was a little concerned by now. Calamity didn’t look so…happy right now. Something must’ve been wrong, or something must’ve happened that she wasn’t proud of. Then she started talking about her eye color, Reno’s thoughts snapped to Cloud and Zack, they had mako blue eyes, but…Calamity wasn’t infused with Jenova cells…right? She couldn’t be. That would mean…and by then Reno quickly dismissed the thought. He continued to looked at her, his own blue eyes full of wonder and curiosity, its not like he HAD to know, but, since she was already speaking, why interrupt? Reno’s eyes glanced at her hand that was shaking, okay, bad news, totally bad news. Reno was prepared for the worst, although the whole Jenova cells thing never crossed his mind again. Of course that thought came right back as she started her little story. So it was Jenova cells. Reno’s mind clicked to Sephiroth first thing, and his remnants, then Cloud and Zack…then back to Calamity. There was a mile difference in the way he saw Sephiroth, and the way he saw Calamity. Although a slight distraction hit his mind when she said the names of the three Remnants. He’d fought against Yazoo and Loz before, Yazoo just so happened to fly through his helicopter, not a good memory. ‘Enough distractions!’ he said to himself in his head, this was serious. Reno was prepared to think of Sephiroth again as she opened her eyes, but…all he was was Calamity, just a little different than he had remembered her. Just because she had the same eyes, didn’t mean she was like them. He smiled some, trying to ease her obvious nerves. “I don’t see anyone else, Just you Calamity.” He grinned at her. “No need to apologize, and you don’t have to hide your eyes behind a pair of sunglasses. It doesn’t matter what other people think, so long as your friends, your real friends, and the people who care about you are there and don’t care what you look like…Mako eyes and all.” He placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure her she was still the same calamity as before.

His words comforted her more than she could have said, she hugged him. “Thank you Reno.” Calamity said softly, everyone else seeing her differently didn’t matter to her but the fact that he still seen her made her happy beyond words. She drew back and smiled at him, clearly happier now that he knew. Without really thinking about it she put on her shades but rather than leaving them over her eyes she pushed them back to rest upon the top of her head. “You know, you’re the only person I really count as a friend…Most members of SOLDIER find me intimidating for some unknown reason and they always tend to avoid me.”
Calamity kissed his cheek playfully, this wasn’t the first time she’d done this and she highly doubted it would be the last time either. “You always manage to cheer me up Reno, I’m really glad I can consider you a friend.” Her words were laced with her honesty and sincerity, she meant every word. Calamity heard her phone buzzing a couldn’t help but groan. “Sorry…” she flipped open her phone and put it to her ear. “Calamity here.” Oh goody a mission, if it was getting a cat out of a tree she was quitting. “You want me to get documents from an abandoned building…what’s the catch?” Calamity bowed her head and sighed. “Excellent, insane blood thirsty experiments that more than likely want to kill anything that enters the building. Sounds fun. What is the roof like?” It sounded like an odd question but it had a purpose. Walking in the front door wasn’t an option, coming in through the roof however was. “I’ll leave in the morning.” She flipped the phone closed and put it back in her pocket.
“No paper work for me tomorrow. I may need to borrow to borrow you for a little while tomorrow, depending on where this lab is. But lets not talk about work, managed to get yourself a girl yet?” she poked him playfully in the ribs before turning away from him so he couldn’t return the favour. “I’ve heard talk that a girl I know has a crush on you, she keeps on appearing out of no-where and asking if I know where you are and asking for your number.” The little smile on her face was mischievous, she hadn’t mentioned that said girl was also occasionally asked after Rude though not nearly as often as she did Reno. “How’s Rude doing? The last time I seen him he was suffering from a sore nose after some hit them with a rod. He never told me who it was but I have my suspicions,” she glanced at Reno with a look that said ‘I know what you did’.

Fiery Red HeadLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno was taken a little by surprise as Calamity hugged him unexpectedly. Apparently what he had said was good, he thought so, he wasn’t always like that, comforting people. As Calamity hugged him Reno hesitantly hugged her back and just lightly patted her back. “No problem. It’s what friends are for.” He chuckled a bit before the hug was over. He smiled as the glasses went to her forehead and not her eyes, so she really did listen to what he said and it made a difference at her obvious mood change. She seemed…happier. That was good, Reno was glad. “Well those SOLDIER’s are crazy then aren’t they? Who wouldn’t want to be friends with you?” He grinned as his hands went to his pockets again. This was so not boring anymore, in fact Reno was enjoying himself by simply chatting in the street! It was good. It was also good to hear that Reno cheered her up, even when he didn’t mean to. Most of the time he got crap for his lame humor and his idiotic mistakes at times, but he never once heard a complaint from Calamity. “Well Im glad to be of service.” He said letting his eyes shift around as he went back to thinking of his initial idea, getting food with Calamity. But as he was thinking her phone going off distracted him and when she flipped it open and apologized Reno waved it off as if saying ‘no problem’. Whatever her mission was the next day, it sounded pretty epic and dangerous too, Reno hoped she would be okay and safe, of course she was a First class SOLIDER, she could handle herself just fine. When she was done with her call Reno turned his attention towards her. “Im going to be borrowed? Am I going to be given back? If not that’s stealing, not borrowing.” He chuckled before she poked him and asked about a girl. Reno coughed for a moment as he rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish grin. “Ah. No, I haven’t…I guess…she just hasn’t come along yet…or I have yet to realize who she is…” He shrugged some. His relationships didn’t last very long due to ShinRa and always being at work and what not, it was a total relationship killer for him. But he had no choice. “Woah. Really? Who is she?” Reno just had to ask, if a girl was out there asking about him and what not, that was pretty flattering of course but maybe that was girl he was looking for… ”Oh Rude’s been fine, He is the best partner ever! And erm. His nose is okay…I bet that person who did hit him was really sorry and apologized a few thousand times” He laughed knowing she knew it was him. Oh well, it was an accident. Not like he meant to hit his best friend in the face…
