Away from the eyes of the citizens of Midgar there was a place of beauty that very few ever had the pleasure of seeing and those that had would have problems describing its beauty in words and do it justice. The Crystal Cave.
Large crystals decorated the cave, expanding from a single point of origin. There was something different about these crystals, there where different from the other mineral crystals that could be found with the caves, little clusters that illuminated the caves when light hit off them but these crystals didn’t do that. These were crystallised mako or mako crystals as they more commonly called by the scientists. It had one purpose but that was not what it was being used for now. The first of which was strengthening a weakened body, the only problem with that was that in most cases the subject became reliant on mako to keep their body working. But they weren’t strengthening a body here…They were keeping one alive.
When mako is crystallized around a living creature it sent the creature into a state of suspended animation. Living but unmoving, un-aging and for the most part unfeeling or thinking, they were lost within constant dreams. In most cases.
Within these mako crystals there was a woman that was almost angelic in appearance, untouched by time. She looked peaceful but at the same time not. Her hair was chocolate brown and held back by a bit of golden material, her skin was pale and behind her pale eyelids were warm chocolate eyes. She was mysterious and beautiful, a mystery to almost all who looked upon her. She wore a white lab coat which led many to the conclusion that she was a scientist and they’d be right. She was a scientist, she was once one of the best.
Her name was Lucrecia Crescent.
For three decades she’d remained in suspended animation, lost in her own never ending dreams except for one brief period when she was awoken by the voice of Vincent. She was living but unable to cause Vincent any more pain, just as she wanted…Barely two months ago she’d began to wake up. Lucrecia had held conversations with those that had found her, speaking into their minds while her lips remained unmoving. Slowly but surely she’d felt her strength returning, soon. Very soon she would awaken fully and break free of her prison and finally search for her love and find out about her son…
Her Sephiroth. How old would he have been now? Did he look like his father? She really hoped not, Hojo had never been good looking. Had he known anything about her? Was he even aware of the fact that his mother didn’t want to leave him, that he was taken from her? So many questions she wanted to ask him but would never have the chance to…What about Vincent? Was he alive and well? Did he still think of her? Did he still love her?
Her eyes flickered and her finger twitched. She was so close to waking fully but thoughts kept pulling her back, fears…What if she just ended up hurting Vincent more than she already had, what if he’d moved on? No, she couldn’t falter now. Her eyes opened suddenly and the crystals around her shattered, she fell to her knees, feeling light headed and weak, the cave was spinning around her and then nothing…Darkness. She lay on the ground, her eyes closed but breathing and free.

Cloud was in the area around this specific cave. A cave he never knew about. He was not even aware of there being crystals inside it. He was just a lone right now. Still wondering about Tifa. About the question she had asked him. Still, he was unable to give her an honest answer. It's been four days since then. He was trying to think on that questions answer to. But it was so hard to him. Why would she ask him that in the first place? That if she was a replacement from Aerith...How dare her...He was still a bit angry at her to. Again, he had no idea of his future. That he what he was going to become soon. To him life would be as it always had been....
Riding on his bike, Cloud spotted the cave in the corner of his eye. There was a bad thunderstorm coming up and he was far from Edge right now. So he would get drenched if he remained riding his bike. So he decided to used the cave as a shelter until the rain stopped...He rode right into the cave....And turned off his bike as he was checking his packages making sure that they were all still in their place....Some thing caught the corner of his eye....As he finally moved his head over to where he was wanting to look, he saw some thing.....Furrowing his eye brows slightly he walked over.....There laying on the cave floor was a woman....A sleeping beauty....Cloud did the only thing he thought he could do....Check her pulse for a heart beat to make sure she was okay....She was okay.....He stood back back and placed his hands on his his as he was puzzled by this...."Where'd you come from....?" He asked to himself....As he looked at her face....Her face was so perfect....He then noticed that there were pieces of glass surrounding her....He then looked to his left and saw the Mako Crystals....
"Mako...?" He had guessed that out loud...As the pieces in his thoughts were coming together.....Was she in imprisonment and just finally broke free? What was she doing here....Why was she here? She was so beautiful....Cloud was not around when all went down at Shinra with this lab assistant....So yeah he would have questions racing in his mind.....

Sephiroth
Yellow sun radiated from a bright blue sky in a location which seemed to be unknown to the general public. Birds chirped in the trees, a river ran quietly, it was peaceful. And then there was a disturbance in the perfect day. Sky turned dark and ominous as the wind whipped with insane power, a whirlwind with traces of odd energy appeared and from this materialized what some thought as the devil himself. Landing softly on the ground, hair whipped as the winds around him started to calm down. Sephiroth was back once again…
This time he wasn’t using anyone else as his ‘body’ to be able to come back. No, this time he was in his own body, standing alone and filled with hatred and the lust to destroy everyone who had ever stood in his way. He possessed all his own personal physical strength with even more abilities and Magic’s added from being in the lifestream…a lethal combination. Intense green eyes looked around, no emotion showed on his still face, but his mind worked quickly. He wasn’t in Midgar, as he had been the last time he had come back from the lifestream, no this time he appeared to be in the country, not a soul around. No wing sprouted from his shoulder, but he started in the direction he knew Edge would be…his first goal, finding his remnants.
And then suddenly he stopped, green cat like eyes showed puzzlement. He felt a presence…one that held the cells of his mother, Jenova. It had not been there before, almost as if the being had awakened, or come out of the lifestream at that moment. Jenova’s cells always spoke to him, so he always knew when there was a being in his presence that held her cells. It wasn’t one of his remnants however, and it wasn’t Cloud either. Who….? Curious and puzzled at why he didn’t know the being that he felt made him turn in that direction, his steps quickened a little bit, though his body was controlled as always.
The clouds had started to lift again, to dissolve into the sky once more, and then suddenly an almost sadistic smile crossed his face. Another being had entered the area, this one however, he knew well…Cloud. Eyes gleamed with anger and hatred, though none of it showed in his body or face, he was an expert at hiding every emotion he felt, which was little enough as it was. Sky darkened once again, winds picked up and lightning flashed against the background. It would seem the weather responded to his feelings. His eyes caught the bike of Cloud Strife zooming down the countryside. Eyes followed him as he caught site of a cave and pulled into it. Evil smirk was up on his lips as he followed after him. As he walked into the cave the storm in the sky had began to rage. When he got inside he noticed two things, a woman laying unconscious and Cloud Strife watching her.
She was the one that was the first presence he had felt…glancing at her face he had a feeling he should know her, but he did not. It was an odd feeling, one that made him hesitate for a few moments while studying her in rapt attention. She was…familiar, and yet not. He did not realize that he resembled her in some of his looks, although he had green eyes and silver hair like Jenova. He had some of the same features, not looking anything like his biological father Hojo. He had been so silent that his footsteps had been unheard. He stood there, his gaze on her, before they switched to Cloud. He watched Cloud as a cat watches a mouse, poised and ready to attack, yet with contempt.
He spoke, not loud or quiet, but commanding, with no emotion clouding it up. “Hello Cloud...” He stood with his arms crossed; Masamune was in its sheath, sparkling from the reflection of the crystals that sparkled in the cave. They were Mako crystals, that much he realized instantly. Glancing at the woman again, he wondered who she was. She held Jenova’s cells, and the crystal around her made him think that she had been in crystallization, but she was weak…what more could he expect from a human? “Still pretending you have feelings? You should know that a puppet can’t feel anything, so why bother trying to be the Hero?” His words were harsh, the look on his face taunting, he knew all the ways to get inside Cloud’s head.

Heat upon her skin, it was the first thing she felt. A voice spoke in the darkness, it was clearer than the voices that she’d heard in years past. His words were crystal clear and so close. Her eyes flickered slightly, Lucrecia had known that she would be left feeling weak after using all the energy she had to break free of her self imprisonment but she hadn’t been expecting it to be this tiring. It was worth it though to finally be free. It took her a few minutes to fully come to, her fingers moved as her eyes slowly opened. Her vision was blurry at first but soon focused on the little bits of crystal that laid around her. It didn’t take long for her eyes to focus properly, soon she could see everything around her, including the owner of the voice. Lucrecia slowly sat up and looked around.
It took her no time at all to work out where she was, she’d known this cave before she’d become encased within Mako. She’d discovered Chaos within this very cave. Her eyes moved to the blonde man that was standing in front of her, he was handsome but there was something about him that made her think that he harboured a deep pain. She could have been miles off, it had been a long time since she really been in anyone’s company. “Hello.” Her voice was quiet, it had been some time since she’d actually used her voice box, moved her lips. Simple things that people took for granted she was rediscovering for the first time in years, something as simple as being able to see and move her fingers felt odd to her. Lucrecia took one of the shards in her hand, looking at it closely. To think this was what imprisoned me and kept me alive… She dropped the shards to the ground and looked up at the man once more. “My name is Lucrecia Crescent…What’s yours?” she asked softly, trying to be polite. Her eyes moved suddenly from him, she hadn’t noticed the other man before, her eyes widened. Images flashed before her mind, images that were not unfamiliar to her. Flames, chaos and destruction.
Her hands subconsciously moved the pocket the housed the two pictures she’d kept with her, Lucrecia knew exactly who he was. She moved back slightly, this she really hadn’t been expecting. Her fingers curled around the pictures before she drew them from her pocket. One was of a child, barely a week old, while the other was of a short haired Vincent Valentine. The photo was taken while he was still a member of the Turks and her bodyguard. She looked at the picture fondly before slipping the picture of Vincent back into her pocket but she kept the picture of the child clutched within her fingers.
The scientist slowly pushed to her feet, unsteady at first from not using them in so long, her eyes were focused of the silver haired man and she couldn’t help but smile slightly. He looked nothing like his father, that pleased her. Lucrecia wanted to reach out and touch him, make sure he wasn’t just a cruel hallucination. She stayed where she was however, she kept the photo in her hand, his name was written neatly in her handwriting. There was clearly some animosity between the two men before her, she didn’t know what but she had her suspicions…
Lucrecia knew what her son had done, or what he would do, she’d known what he would become from early in the pregnancy. This was part of the reason she’d felt so guilty about not fighting harder for him, perhaps it was guilt or perhaps it was the maternal feelings of a mother who felt that they’d failed their child but she felt as if things could have been different…If she’d been there maybe she could have stopped certain events for coming to pass. Her being there might have made no difference what so ever but she wished she’d tried, if she’d tried then at least she would have known that everything that had happened wasn’t her fault. Some of the guilty she’d felt while in her crystallised status was gone but there was still plenty of things for her to feel guilty about. Vincent had put her mind at ease about many things, the rest was up to her now.
“I know you.” Her eyes were locked on Sephiroth. “But you have no idea who am, do you? You know nothing about me or who am I.” Lucrecia kept the photo at her side, out of view. She couldn’t tell him straight away who she was, she needed time. Time to find the words she wanted needed to say, ones that must be said.

“Hello.” “My name is Lucrecia Crescent…What’s yours?” "Cloud...Cloud Strife is my name....You just broke free from Mako Crystals...." Then another voice back the hairs on the back of his neck stand straight up! “Hello Cloud...” “Still pretending you have feelings? You should know that a puppet can’t feel anything, so why bother trying to be the Hero?” Cloud's eyes widened in fear. As he slowly turned around to see Sephiroth....Sephiroth would enjoy seeing that on his face. Fear and shockness....The last time he saw Sephiroth, Cloud was killing him and telling him to remain in his memories....And the last words that Sephiroth ever spoke to him was, 'I will never be a memory.....' And this was proof that Sephiroth was right....
“I know you.” Cloud turned back to Lucrecia then....Did she know him...? But then he saw her eyes were looking directly at Sephiroth when she said that....She meant she knew Sephiroth....“But you have no idea who am, do you? You know nothing about me or who am I.” Cloud glanced his eyes between the two. As he slowly backed away from them. They knew each other? This was not good. Not good at all. Again, Cloud had no idea that Lucrecia was indeed the mother of his greatest enemy....And they just reunited....This was not good. Not good for Cloud at all if they knew each other. "You two know each other?" Cloud had asked Lucrecia....He could see the similar features the two had. Could she a relative of Sephiroth or some thing....? It never donged on Cloud that this was indeed Sephiroth's mother. Did he even know? Cloud simply ignored what Sephiroth had asked them....If he was still pretending to have feelings....Cloud was just used to it by now to just ignore what ever Sephiroth said.

Evil Angel I was chosen to rule this planet. Standing back in the shadows, he smirked evilly at the fact that they had not yet noticed him. They were pathetic, and yet he heard her name…Lucrecia. He did not know it, nor did he care…except…he still had that odd sensation that he knew her. Taking his eyes away from her they pinned down at Cloud again, deviation and hatred lay in them, and yet they were so carefully guarded. Long silver hair quite as long as the woman’s lay down his back, no movement since there was no air current back in the cave. He watched Cloud turn around as the woman drew something out of her pocket. The fear in Cloud’s eyes was evident, and his lips turned into a snarl as he watched him. His gaze was taunting, taunting Cloud, the fact that he had told Cloud he would never be a memory should be sufficient for him to have known he would come back someday, that day had come sooner then he had thought. Closing his eyes slowly before opening them again, Sephiroth did not move as both of the humans seemed to be in shock at his appearance.
“Did you not expect me back so soon Cloud? I told you I would never become a memory.” He enjoyed getting into Cloud’s head, making him feel fear. And then the woman spoke to him. He glanced at her in irritation. She said she knew him…how was that possible if he did not know her? It irritated him that she knew him and yet he could not place her. He had this feeling that he should know her, and yet he did not, which made him angry. He crossed his arms and did not speak for a few moments, watching her though he knew exactly where Cloud was. “It does not matter who you are…you do not matter. I do not know you, because you are nothing.”
And then Cloud had to go and as the question. Scoffing inside, he glared at Cloud, “I do not know her, even if she knows me, as she claims.” Cloud tried to ignore him, and he just smirked and did not move. No matter what Cloud said, his words always got to him, as they would this time.

The scientist smiled at Cloud, she liked his name despite how much it made her desire to see the clouds…Lucrecia noticed his reaction to her sons presence, he hated her son but unlike most mothers who would immediately want to defend her son Lucrecia knew better since she knew exactly what her son had done and was capable of. She’d known before he’d even been born. Lucrecia placed her right arm over her abdomen, resting left her elbow upon it, holding the photo between two fingers. He was a fool to think that people were nothing, no-one was nothing and to think so was folly. She was once one of Gaia’s most brilliant minds, perhaps she still was.
Lucrecia smiled as she walked over to the spot where she’d once been trapped. “Sephiroth, son of Hojo. You were born with cells of the Calamity, JENOVA, which were infused with your blood stream through your mother umbilical cord which made you faster and stronger than any other being that has come before. You were separated from your mother the moment you were born and raised by to be a member of Soldier.” Lucrecia moved the photo, throwing it towards him with a gentle flick of her wrist. “That is you when you were three days old.” Her long brown hair swayed as she turned to face them.
“Don’t worry Cloud, the child I knew is no-more.” Her warm chocolate eyes scanned the blonde, smiling softly. She was no threat to him and wasn’t about to harm anyone, the rational part of her brain told her that getting into a fight right now would pushing it a bit. Lucrecia turned her attention to Sephiroth, her eyes looking on his. His eyes were the colour of mako, interesting and unique. She’d always hoped that her son would be unique and individual just…not in a crazy evil way.

“Did you not expect me back so soon Cloud? I told you I would never become a memory.” Cloud scoffed at that reply. He just remained where he was. He did not know what Sephiroth was going to do...He could never tell what this monster was going to do....Cloud really tried to figure Sephiroth out all on his own. But he still could not understand Sephiroth....
“It does not matter who you are…you do not matter. I do not know you, because you are nothing.” Cloud glanced at Sephiroth as he was talking with Lucrecia....
“I do not know her, even if she knows me, as she claims.”
"Claims...?"
“Sephiroth, son of Hojo. You were born with cells of the Calamity, JENOVA, which were infused with your blood stream through your mother umbilical cord which made you faster and stronger than any other being that has come before. You were separated from your mother the moment you were born and raised by to be a member of Soldier.” “That is you when you were three days old.”
Would this be it....? The moment where Cloud understood everything about Sephiroth....? He hoped so...And Cloud thought his child hood was bad....
“Don’t worry Cloud, the child I knew is no-more.” Cloud looked over at Lucrecia....And nodded...He could tell she was telling the truth...That she would not try and harm him....Why would she any way? She was really different from her son....Cloud may not feel any fear from Lucrecia....But Sephrith....He was scared that the man might take a full attack on his own mother! And Cloud would not let that happen. There was a reason that Lucrecia was back....And he was going to protect her now...Even from her own son....Again Cloud has just found some very powerful information on Sephiroth....That he was taken from his mother at birth....That must have been very hard on Sephiroth....Cloud was beginning to understand why Sephiroth went all crazy on Shin-Ra.....If that happened to him, Cloud might have done the same......That was when Cloud looked up at his sworn enemy in the eyes.....And began to feel remorse and sadness for some one that has tried to kill him more than once.....
"My words may not mean any thing to you Sephiroth....But, I think it's sad that they did that to you....Took you away from your own mother....That must have been painful....Even a baby never forgets their mothers voice....Their real mother I mean....Sepiroth...When will this constant battle between us end....? Please....Let me help her.....and you....." Cloud swallowed hard....As he lowered his sword then on the ground....some might say that this was a very stupid move from Cloud....But he was hoping for at least a truce....For now....He then glanced at Sephiroth's mother....But quickly back at Sephiroth.....So Zack was right...Sephiroth was not always twisted & evil until he found out what had happened to him....Cloud still thought of that.....He would probably do just the same as Sephiroth had done.....

~Evil Angel~ I was chosen to rule this planet. Sephiroth’s eyes went from Cloud and rested on this Lucrecia as she walked toward the spot where the mako crystals were shattered all around. He listened without feeling, without showing any emotion and without words. The way she said it made it seem differently, but he knew that JENOVA was his true mother, and that he was chosen to rule the planet. Nothing she would say would make him change his mind. He did not care about who she was or what she was, he would still destroy the planet. And then she flicked him something. Without thinking his arm quickly caught it. Glancing at it for 3 seconds, he saw an infant, a baby at the age of three days old…it looked weak. He was not weak, nothing about him was. He was the son of the most powerful being besides him in the universe. He looked back at her, “Whether this be the truth or lies meant to deceive me…I’ll see you destroyed along with this planet.” His green eyes caught hers as he smirked, for some reason she had wanted to tell him about himself…did that mean she thought of him as her son? He was not the son of anyone so weak…JENOVA was his mother, everything pointed to that, he felt a connection with JENOVA. And then he met the eyes of Cloud, and he felt something he had never seen in them when they were directed at him…Pity? Remorse? He did not say anything for a moment, but his green eyes held Cloud’s, and the look in them held none of what Cloud was feeling. “You would pity me Cloud? The strongest being in the entire universe. The ruler of this planet. A god. I’ll see you when you take your last breath and when you have lost everything that you hold dear.” With that he held himself utterly still, no bone in his body telling Cloud that he would attack. “I would worry about myself if I were you…Cloud.” And with that he attacked. Cloud’s sword had dropped down a bit…wrong thing to do. Pulling out his sword he lunged at Cloud in one swift motion. His blade twinkled as it was reflected by the crystals around him. The look on his face was pleasure…soon he would see Cloud Destroyed.
