FATE LINGOD
"I make little lies and then I pull them apart.
I think something dark living down in my heart.
Some men die under the mountain searching for gold.
Some men die alone just searching for a hand to hold.
And if I wanted to die before I got old...
I should have started years ago digging that hole."

Appearance Fate doesn't really look all that out of the ordinary. He's a bit on the tall side (5'9") compared to other teens his age. He's got a pretty normal frame and normal weight too. He's constantly in motion, his emotions made really obvious by his dramatic gestures. He slumps his shoulders when he's feeling down, he sits up straight and dances when he's happy, when he's surprised he jumps back in full shock, waving his arms around dramatically. His eyes are purple which turn crimson when his powers are in use. His hair is dark brown and goes just below his ears. In certain shades of light his hair looks black.
His style could be classified as skater/punk rocker. He chooses to wear clothing that he feels comfortable in and that he loves, uncaring of what others may think. Usually consist of baggy pants, pair of DC shoes, a t-shirt with his one of his favorite bands or skating company, and maybe a jacket if it is cool. No matter what he is doing he can always be found sporting a pair of goggles that dangles from his neck.
Personality: Because his moods seem to change constantly Fate's personality is hard to pin down. One moment he can be all bad-guy and comes across as fairly menacing, but the next minute he flinches back and starts talking to himself about how he really isn't cut out for the job. He can be civil and pleading one moment and then appear cynical and sarcastic the next. He can be clever and has a thing for noticing little details, but can also be completely oblivious to the obvious and make poor life choices. With the rapid changes all he really accomplishes is a very good impression of a complete spazz case.
He usually puts up a fairly light-hearted and thoughtful front, unless the situation calls for "evil." But still he usually thinks about others before he thinks about himself and will usually claim he's not really the right guy for the job. He has a lot of expectations to live up to, considering he's somewhat a hero. It all boils down to him looking like a pushover, kind of air-headed, and not all that threatening. He doesn't enjoy fighting and will probably try to get out of it in any way he can. But don't let his personality fool you. He's fully capable of fending for himself.
Unfortunately due to years of being experimented on the boy has a rift in his personality. His other sides had named themselves Hope and Glory. Hope is Fate's goofy side. He and Fate tend to get along well considering that Hope only wants to have fun. But he stays in Fate's mind. On the other hand we have Glory. Unlike Hope, Glory is what people would consider evil. He only cares about proving that he's the perfect being and would do anything to seek control over Fate's body. Glory only can take control over the body upon hearing certain trigger words and situations.
History: Fate Lingod is a boy who doesn't really know anything about his real family. He didn't even have an actual real name at the time either and still doesn't know his real name given to him by his real mother. Ironically, his real mother and father were scientist of the SAPHYRE Project. They thought nothing special of Fate until they discovered his powers while he was playing around with a power outlet. Believing him to be destined to do greater things they placed him under the supervision of the SAPHYRE Project. His mother and father than cut all bonds with him for what they believed was best for the project and him. But as long as he could remember back he had always been locked in those labs and rooms until he was adopted by one of the very scientist that was doing work on him. At the age of five, Fate was the best candidate for a new project called SAPHYRE. SAPHYRE was a project by the Galbadia Military to create their very own super soldiers. This was suppose to give him special abilites and powers (besides the powers he had now). Unfortunately, each result ended in failure. Eventually the series of tests drove the boy to cause a rift in his personality. Seeming him as nothing more than a failed subject they had no more use for him. So the obvious choice was disposal. But as fortunate would have it the boy was saved by one of the scientist named Christian.
Soon after, Christian adopted the boy, now ten years of age, and gave him the named Fate; saying that he was a blessing in disguise. Of course the boy loved it. He was tired of going by his experimental numbers as a name. From that point Fate had a pretty good life until one day his powers started to become more active. The truth was that Christian was actually keeping watch over Fate to see if he made any progress, but she had developed a motherly relationship with the boy and she didn't want anyone to take her new son away. Still, word got back to the scientist of the SAPHYRE project and they saw hope in Fate. Maybe he was the best candidate.
Death threat after death threat aimed toward Christian. They knew they could use her to get the boy to come back and they were correct. Fate agreed to return back to the SAPHYRE project just as long as they didn't hurt Glory. Test after test again and again, the scientist were still not getting the results they wanted. They continued to push the boy until he lost control of his powers, killing everyone including the one person he loved most; Christian. He didn't know what to do, but run. Run as far as he could until his feet couldn't carry him anymore.
Weeks passed and the boy found himself living on the streets. Stealing here and there just to stay alive. As fortunate would have it Fate ran into another with abilites who became his best friend. His name was Koopa. Koopa's family took Fate in and that's where Fate also train to be a martial artist. Later, Koopa told him that he was destined to do great things and that he should leave for Trabia Garden, it being the closes Garden to his whereabouts. He would train to become a SEED, travel the world(s), and help people.
Abilities:
*Electrical generation, manipulation, and absortion - Fate is a living electrical capacitor. Powered by the micro-fine rhythmic muscle contractions that normally regulate body temperature. He can generate electrostatic energy at a rate of about 1,000 volts per minute and store up to 1,000,000 volts allowing him to emit lightning arcs from his fingertips and body at speeds of up to 1,100 feet per second, achieving a maximum distance of about 100 feet. In addition, he can absorb static from the air and he can override electrically powered devices and manipulate them mentally, and travel along conductive surfaces (such as power lines or anything with electicity) at speeds as fast as 140 mph. When fully charged, however, Fate becomes extremely sensitive to anything that can "short circuit" his abilities, particularly water. Due to the experimenting the lightning he generates or conjures takes on the color of crimson.
*Healing - Fate is capable of healing his own wounds as long as he is near an power source of electricity. Unfortunately, the healing doesn't work on fatal life threatening wounds.
*Superhuman Agility & Reflexs - Fate's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete. His reflexes are similarly enhanced, superior to those of even the finest human athlete.
Summons: N/A
Magic: N/A
Strengths:
*Martial Artist: Fate is skilled in many forms of martial arts, making him a great hand-to-hand combatant.
*Electronics: Of course since he can control them he going to be great with them, right?
Team Player: He works well with others even though he prefers to be alone.
Weaknesses:
*Water - It can be helpful in some situations, but if he is drenched in water it's hard for him to conjure up his electricity.
*Trigger Words - Upon hearing certain words, he loses control to Glory. Glory doesn't use his head when fighting. Instead he tries to use brute force.
*He's easily manipulated. With the right words and actions it is easily to persude Fate to any cause.
Weapon Freedom & Justice - A pair of lever-action sword revolvers that used for close combat like regular swords. It's only used as a close range weapon so in other words it's appearance is just for show.
Crushes: None at the moment.
Role Play Sample:
Usually, Fate Lingod wouldn't be caught dead shopping. But everyone had to eat and there wasn't anything at the household he was staying at. He was wearing his favorite black "MEGA LOLZ" t-shirt, a pair of baggy cargo shorts, and black DCs. "Two dollars for a bag of chips... They're not even family-size!" Still, Fate grabbed the small bag. He had everything he needed. His chips, his Cap'n Crunch, twizzlers. He stopped suddenly, eyeing his items. He knew he needed to eat more healthy. Maybe he would grab some fruit. Luckily he was on the right isle. He reached and grabbed himself two boxs of Fruit Roll-ups. That counts as fruit, right?[/color][/i] Fate looked her up and down before stopping mid-section to admire her figure. Eyes up buddy! What? Oh, yeah. I was staring at her shoes anyway.
He finally made his way to the checkout counter. And of course he grabbed to bags of Skittles for the walk home. He gave the woman the money in exchange for the items he wanted and headed out of the store. "Hey, Mister! Can I borrow a dollar?" Fate eyes scanned the area. It was a young boy who look to be around ten. "Uh, i'm sorry lil' dude. I spent the last of my money in there," He said, "How about you take this box of Roll-ups though." The young boy took the box and stared at it a moment before returning his gaze to Fate. Then he did something that Fate didn't expect. He kicked him in the shin and threw the box back in his face!
He doubled over in pain as the boy took off like he had stole something. "Ugh! You jerk!" Fate rubbed his right shin as if that was going to get the pain to stop. No! He was going to return the favor. Who cares if the kid was 10. He needed to be taught a lesson. So now Fate would give chase. The boy easier maneuvered in and out between the cars in the parking lot, but finally Fate would grasp him... Or at least he thought.
Everything went black for Fate for a moment. When he opened his eyes he was staring up at the sky. Apparently, diving for the boy wasn't a great idea. "Who the heck parks a car in a...." Fate looked around, realizing he was still in the lot. "... Parking lot." He stood to his feet slowly and brushed himself off. Sadly, only thing left of his groceries was the box of Fruit Roll-Ups. Everything else was trashed in the fall. Now he was really upset. If ya would have just shocked him ya wouldn't have lost yo' food and wouldn't have hurt yo'self. If I shocked him the cops would have been here and we would have a bigger probl-- Why am I holding a conversation with you anyway! Fate rubbed his head when he realized that there was someone else there. A lady placing bags in the trunk of her car. The same car Fate ran into. [color=yellowWow... She's hot! Ask her for her number!
"Uh.... I'm sorry ma'am."[/blockquote]
