Jamaila Diana Collyns
"You'll only attract unwanted attention."
Custom Title:The Rising Star[/color]
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Family: Father ~ Viktor Collyns (PSICOM operative), Mother ~ Alisha Collyns (Opera singer, currently resides in Nautilus)
Race: Human
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Home World: Cocoon
Alignment: Neutral. Jamaila is more concerned with issues that affect her personally, but - if prompted - she will try to do all she can for the greater good.
Job: Student ~ attending Eden University (after graduating, she is planning to join Guardian Corps)
Items: Cell phone ~ One of Jamaila's most prized possessions. It has a black exterior and the screen can be slided upwards in order for her to view the numerical keys.
Accessories: Silver necklace ~ This particular object is either worn or - sometimes - left in Jamaila's trenchcoat pocket. Two rectangular charms hang from the chain, one engraved with the word 'Cemel' and the other engraved with the word 'Dosce'.
Personality: Jamaila is a devoted individual, seeing as she is currently enrolled in the Guardian Corps, taking advantage of their benefits for her to resume college education. She is also known to be smart, as she believes that gaining knowledge - mostly from reading books - would help bolster her reputation and respectability. Despite her achievements, though, Jamaila is known to be stubborn; believing that (most of the time) her views are always right, and (sometimes) refusing to adapt to change. She is also known to get riled up easily; sometimes, the simplest taunts can aggravate her and possibly cause her to end up becoming reckless and impulsive. She is also under the assumption that due to her young age, she has to constantly prove herself in order to gain respect from others - this is an aspect of her personality that does not bode well with most people.
Despite her cons, though, she does also possess some positive attributes. First off, she is known to be gentle and caring, particularly around children or when someone is in need of help. She is also known to possess a sense of justice, which is one of the reasons why she is interested in working in either the Law Enforcement Division or the Nautilus Security Regiment upon graduating the academy she is currently enrolled in. Particularly when she is responsible for the well-being of a child, Jamaila is also known to be loyal and would do the best that she can to ensure that they are out of harm's way. She is also an honorable individual, who - whenever she makes a promise - vows to keep it, no matter what the consequences.
History: Jamaila was born an only child to a PSICOM operative named Viktor Collyns and a opera singer named Alisha Collyns (nee Hart) at the 27th of June, in a moderately-sized house in the city called Eden. Because of this, naturally, Jamaila was given a lot and pampered by her parents. Everything was going great for the young brunette and - due to her parents' persistence - she was also always pushing for the top spot in school. Naturally, as she was bought up in a household that really valued the concept of work and all that it could get for you.
Growing up in the heart of Cocoon was also bound to have an influence on the Collyns family. Whilst studying in school, Jamaila yearned to work a respectable job, where she would be able to gain income, status and respectability. However, at the age of 14, her parents' conflicting views had began revealing themselves; she realized that her mother and father were always arguing about one thing or another.
The teenager was afraid that her parents were going to have to go their separate ways.
And, that they did. Alisha seized her chance when Jamaila turned 16; Nautilus were recruiting all types of entertainers in order to boost city morale, and the opera singer thought it fit for her to move there. Whilst not confronting her (almost ex-) husband and daughter, Alisha let them know through written and technological means that she was no longer able to stay with them. Jamaila, of course, was devastated. But Viktor, whilst also heartbroken in his own way, began to work vigilantly still, and acted as if Alisha's departure had not struck a painful chord in his heart.
Of course, because of this, Jamaila ended up confronting him from time to time, and - eventually - Viktor also began distancing himself from his daughter; he would sit up in his office, wanting no-one to disturb him whilst he 'worked'. Despite the fact that their relationship was now strained, Jamaila still - to some extent - respected her father and abided his wish to get a good education. However, seeing as she wasn't very financially strong, Jamaila had decided to align herself with the Guardian Corps, who - as well as being a reputable organization - were also giving out financial aid to students wishing to enroll in any GC division in the future.
So, it is for this purpose that she is currently working towards. When she does formally enroll into the Guardian Corps, Jamaila hopes to either work in the Capital Guard Division (to stay with her father) or the Nautilus Security Regiment (to visit and/or stay with her mother).
Abilities: Loving towards children ~ Although she is regarded as hot-headed and stubborn by most people, Jamaila's demeanor completely changes when she is around children. She is naturally caring towards them, and - most of the time - gains their respect and admiration.
Athletic & Flexible ~ Because of her slim frame, Jamaila is also actively athletic. Most of the time, she is always up on her feet, and - in battle - is pretty good when it comes to evading attacks. However, that doesn't make her immune to getting hit from time to time.
Acting ~ Although she isn't as talented as people who have perhaps worked in theaters and the like, Jamaila is - nevertheless - adept at undertaking various roles, if she has to. This could range from her simply masking her true emotions or convincing her inner self to stay calm.

Role Play Sample: Jamaila walked through the familiar streets of Eden, head down and hands in her pockets; apparently in her thinking mode.
Her thoughts were shifting fast; from her father, to her classes, to whether or not she should call her mother again. Or, better yet, maybe she could visit. Turquoise eyes shimmered with hope; yeah, that sounded great. The only problem was ... how was she going to tell her father?
Frown back on her face, Jamaila pondered some more. She was her own person; she didn't need to tell her father anything. Okay, sure, she could call him, let him know where she was going ...
Odds are, he'd try and stop her. And, then she'd just end up arguing with him. As was the norm.
Thinking of him had not only put her in a sour mood, but had also diverted her attention from the present moment.
It was too late for her to reverse what had happened, though, as she found a body bump into hers. Eyes partially widened, Jamaila was just about to hit the ground, but - luckily - the person she bumped into was generous and helped her back up.
She put a small smile on her face, and looked him in the eye. "Um, thanks. And, no, there's no need to apologize. It was my fault ..." It partially was, too. If she had been paying more attention ...
As quick as a flash, she felt the atmosphere change. The shout that resonated in her head instantly put her on guard and, almost instinctively, Jamaila found her hands twitch towards her dual blades; which were conveniently hidden from view. She felt a little apprehension and - although she tried not to show it outwardly - fear as she processed his question.
Well, maybe he wasn't from Cocoon. Jamaila had never met someone who originated from Pulse, so she was pretty inexperienced with dealing with them. Though from this guy's tone, it was evident that he was no PSICOM or Guardian Corps soldier. Raising an eyebrow warily, she straightened up, wording her question a little harsher than intended. "And if I am?"
She vaguely remembered someone (a teacher? Her father?) having told her that it wasn't smart to answer a question with another question, but that didn't matter much now. What mattered was whether this guy would draw his blade right here, right now, in the presence of the horde of civilians currently roaming the streets.
