Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Narrowing her eyes, Selphie displayed some strength as she wrestled with the tiger. It growled and thrashed at her, swiping its paws down again and again. She rolled and twisted as she tried to keep away from the sharp claws, but still, it caught her arm and scratched it deeply. “Oh that’s IT you STUPID cat!!” she yelled at it, Selphie was mad now. Blood had started to run from the wound that was on her left arm, close to her shoulder. It stung like none other and she wasn’t going to allow any cat to rip her to pieces. With or without Squall’s help she was going to get the upper hand. Jamming her nanchaku deeper into its throat, she kneed it in the stomach and twisted around to try to get some amount of leverage when suddenly she heard it roar and the weight on her was suddenly gone.
Sitting up, still angry, Selphie was faced with looking at Squall beheading the creature. Nodding in satisfaction, she glared at it, idiot cat. Then Squall came back to help her to her feet. Getting up, she moved to brush herself off when suddenly she bit her lip in order not to groan aloud about the pain in her left arm and shoulder. She squeezed her eyes together more and forced herself to move her arm, it wasn’t broken and not seriously injured, she could still fight with it, but it did hurt. She flexed it a few times, forcing herself to clear her thoughts about the pain.
She actually laughed through it at what Squall said. “I know, contrary to popular belief I do actually listen sometimes.” She tried to hide her arm from him as to his next question. “Yeah I’m fine, ready to get back in the action!” It wasn’t that she was just hiding that she was hurt, but he would try to force her to go inside Garden and miss all the excitement that she had wished would happen for forever, which was NOT going to happen.
And of course he had to say exactly that. He should have known she wouldn’t go for that idea. “Are you saying I can’t handle it?” She shook her head, “No way Jose, There is not any chance that I’m going in there and you know it. To go inside would be…be…cowardly, and I’m sure not any sort of coward!” Putting her hands on her hips she nodded her head toward where the other SeeDs were battling, “Come on lets go before they get it under control and there won’t be any fun left.”

Squall let out a deep sigh. He should have just listen to his first instinct to not say a word. "... I never said you didn't listen." Though it would seem that it just went into one ear and right out the other. Squall knew that Selphie was not that careless, but it would have been great if she was a lot more... calm. Battles were suppose to be exciting, they were suppose to be feared. Feared because any moment you could lose a friend. Honestly, these creatures were a piece of cake for SeeDs so it was not a major problem, but this was nothing compared to Ultimecia.
What if they were to face a threat like Ultimecia again? Squall was sure that they would not be as lucky as they were the first time. She said had said she was ready to return to action yet her arm said otherwise. "What about your arm?" Allowing her to continue on fighting would only make Squall worry about her even more. It seemed like no one understood this, it was like as if they were wanting him to say it.
She could handle it? Squall was completely aware of that, but the fact was he could not handle it. And he was not going to handle it. Expressing how he felt was Squall's worst department. He turned so that he was not facing Selphie at all. "I can't handle it Selphie. I don't want to... I don't want to lose anyone, especially the people I've grown close to." Losing people was the very reason why Squall use to prefer being alone. It was less heartache to deal with and no guilt at all. It was why he use to love this life as a mercendary. With this occupation he did not have to be close to anyone.
The responsibility as the Headmaster did not help at all either. Truthfully, Squall hated his role as a leader. It was way too much to handle even with the help of Quitis and Xu. In the end, all the blame would fall on Squall's shoulders if something horrible were to happen. "Go inside Selphie... Get your arm looked at."

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Selphie sighed a bit along with Squall, for once not being oblivious. She had been somewhat sarcastic, even though she had been mostly joking, “I'm sorry Squall, I didn't mean to be sarcastic...I'll try to pay attention more next time.” The look on her face had went from excited to a bit deflated, like she was a child getting punished, even though it was only from the fact that Squall seemed upset. She resisted the urge to hug him and chewed on her bottom lip, green eyes watching him. Other then the fact that there were beasts running around and SeeD were fighting them. “And I'll be more careful.” She had to admit she had been to excited to be careful, but she had learned her lesson.
She turned red when Squall saw her arm. “It's fine, looks worse then it is!” She burst out, scared that Squall would force her to go inside when she didn't want to. She wanted to stay out, and the anguish in her eyes a the thought of not getting to be part of the excitement made her face screw up a bit. “I can barely feel it, look I can move my air just fine.” With that she raised her arm and flexed it before moving it around in a circle, biting back the pain and trying to make her face not show it.
When Squall said that he was the one who couldn't handle it Selphie's argument seemed to fly right out the window. How many times had Squall told her that he was worried? None on record that she could think of. He hadn't said exactly that he was worried, but he had edged on the fact that he was close to her. Still she couldn't let herself be dragged in by guilt. “Please Squall!!!!” The look on her face was pure begging as she glanced up at him. She couldn't bear the thought of being out of the excitement. “I'll leave as soon as it starts hurting, please???” her face fell when he told her to go inside and get her arm looked at.
Suddenly she felt a flash of determination. “No! I've been waiting for a long time for some kind of excitement to happen, and now that it has I'm not gonna just leave now.” The look on her face was pure stubbornness. “I'll get it checked out as soon as this is over, but I can't just walk away from my duty! And this is my duty, I'm SeeD!” Words: 548 Muse: good Notes: none

There was no way to win with Selphie. Squall's best option was to just knock her out and drag her inside the Garden himself, but that would not go over well with her once she regained conciousness. Whatever... Well, Squall feared that they would have this conversation again, actually a few more times. If Selphie happened to get seriously hurt Squall would just rub it in her face. "It's fine... Do whatever you want."
Worrying about Selphie would only cause Squall to get hurt. As she said, she was a SeeD, she could handle herself. So to carry on this conversation would only be pointless now. He swung his gunblade back over his shoulder and rushed back into the battle. The quicker they got this over the quicker he could scold Selphie. He went through the chaos slashing at the legs at the tiger beasts, to slow them down for the other members.
Placing his gunblade in front of him, he clicked the trigger. "Lionhart!" A blue aura appeared around the blade, making the gunblade look bigger than it really was. He swung the blade in front of himself, aiming upward at a few of the flying creatures in the sky. Clicking the trigger once again released a wave of energy into the sky, completely wiping six of the creatures from existence.

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” The look on Squall's face wasn't exactly sweet as he looked at her. Perhaps she should have just heeded his advice and gone to get it checked out? Though she had no idea what he was thinking, if she could tap into his brain, she would realize that he would indeed knock her out and drag her away. No question about that one, however since she remained blissfully oblivious, she didn't know he had thought about doing just that. When he gave in she resisted the urge to hug him and beamed happily, “Great! Lets do this then.” With that Selphie made an about face and started running back to the action, however this time she tried to be less hyper and more focused.
Selphie went to finish up the tigers Squall had slashed for her. She had a personal thing against these kitties now, so they were goin' down! So she smacked them with her nanchaku and ended some. When she was sick of using that approach, Selphie twirled her nanchakus and held them in front of her face before flipping her nanchaku and had Lightning appear to stop the beasts where they stood. It flashed down from the sky and when it was over the tigers lay where their hearts had stopped beating. Her arm had started bleeding more, and it hurt like none other, but she wouldn't complain about it, especially not in front of Squall. He was just going to yell at her about how she should have gone in and gotten it checked out first thing, so no pity from him.
Selphie and the other SeeD had taken care of the tigers, in the meantime, she turned and watched Squall as he shouted Lionhart. Best to just get out of his way when he did one of these attacks. One of the new SeeD members went by her to try and help Squall out. Of all the stupid...reaching her hand out, she grabbed him by the collar and dug her heels in to stop him from running right into Squalls path. She herself was dragged a few steps before the guy turned to look at her. “Just sit back and watch this one, they wont even know what hit 'em.” If she could have, she would have gotten some popcorn to eat, for some reason she was always enthralled when he did this attack. He finished up the last creatures and she almost started clapping.
Instead she turned and went to check on a SeeD that was down. He needed some medical attention right away, so she waved to the SeeD she had stopped and Nida, “Can you take this one to Doctor Kadowaki?” She wasn't thinking about her arm, but it had started to throb again. She turned around and made her way over to where a flying beast and a tiger lay in close proximity to each other. Kneeling down, she got out her pocket knife and shaved some of the skin off each beast. Selphie couldn't leave it alone, she had to know where these animals had come from. So she took the skin for DNA and standing up, backtracked to where the SeeD were standing.

After firing off the Lionhart a few more times the raid seemed to be over. He let out another deep sigh before clicking the trigger of the gunblade again, returning it back to its normal form. He placed the gunblade back at his waist and walked over to a ground of SeeDs, making sure everyone was alright. As he walked around, he noted that no one seemed to be seriously hurt. It was not anything that they could not handle. That was a sigh of relief. He walked up to one of the older SeeDs and placed his hand on his shoulder. "Make sure everyone who needs it get treated. I be back to help shortly."
Right now Squall was worried about Selphie. He was sure that she would be doing something else instead of getting her arm looked at. He walked up to Selphie with that same blank expression he gave so many people. "...Go get your arm looked at. I'll handle this here." Squall was sure that this was going to bring up another debate. He was not having it this time. Honestly, if she said anything Squall was going to toss her over his should and carry her to the doctor himself.
He kneeled down to examine these new creatures. Yeah, they were not like anything he had seen before. Unknown creatures attack the Garden; what could that mean? Was someone trying to take them out? If so, they had to be pretty stupid to think a few creatures would defeat them. "... You still here Selphie?"

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Selphie glanced up at Squall when he came up to her and told her to get her arm checked out. She then noticed how badly it stung, but nothing the doctor couldn't fix up. Still, she hated to leave things unfinished here, Squall already had to much on his plate. So she pushed it aside and tried to wave it away. “I'll get there soon enough, I want to look at this DNA a little bit. Running it to the lab would be a good idea!” Always full of energy, Selphie grinned up at him before racking up a list of things she wanted to be sure to get done in regard to the beasts. Of course Squall knew what he was doing, but she was ever curious and thus had to know herself what was going on. Besides, Squall had the tendency to leave her in the dark about what was going on...actually he did that to everyone.
So she followed him when he went to look at the beasts. She appraised them with her eye, trying to commit to memory what each one looked like, bone structure, hair color, any markings. And that was when Squall just asked her if she was still here. “Yeah! Why...?” She suddenly had an idea that this wasn't going to go over so big with him, since he had ordered her to get her arm checked out a few times now. She would! She just didn't want to leave and miss anything. The throbbing had intensified and it made her grit her teeth, but she put up a strong front and sighed, “I'll go get my arm checked out...but first I'm going to go to the lab and drop off these samples! Then I'll go.” She held the strips of skin she had skinned off the beasts and turned to look at the other SeeD members taking the wounded man to the doctor.
Maybe she was just being stubborn, but she hated to admit she had gotten hurt like any regular cadot. She was SeeD, she should have known better, been more aware, but she had been just to happy for some action she had charged right in. With a little sigh, she shifted her weight and turned around, she WOULD get to it, but first, the lab. This wasn't something she would allow to wait. Forcing a smile on her lips, she started to walk off. Her mind was on a million things, the main one being what had caused the beasts to arrive? She had a feeling they hadn't been sent...no small animals like that could have been able to take down Garden...but did it have something to do with Ultimecia? Seifer that one time had told them about her...could she really be back? She got a chill just thinking about it. She really didn't want that to happen... Words: 590 Muse: ... Placing his hand on his forehead, Squall let out a deep sigh. He was only eighteen! This was too much for a kid to deal with. If he was not in his right mind he would have told Selphie that she was making this difficult for him. Squall could not do that, it would break her heart. As if her grinning up at him was going to help her case. Squall just stared back and slowly pointed to the Garden, gesturing her to go get her arm looked at. ... Why do I even try?
Using his foot, he turned over one of the flying creatures. They was no classification for this beast or any of the others here, Squall was sure of this. Creatures this big and furious he was sure someone would have discovered. "Ultimecia..." No, these creatures were not nearly strong enough to be the spawn of the evil witch. The creatures were from another world, Squall was sure of that. The questions were which one and was there a portal nearby transporting them here.
Squall knew of two other worlds; Cocoon and Gaia. The latter was the one he had actually been to and explored. This was all confusing. Squall let out another sigh when Selphie answered, confirming she was still here. "Your arm could get infected... We don't know anything about these creatures. Come on." He turned and grabbed Selphie by the wrist of the arm that was free of the wound, dragging her along with him.
"You're getting it looked at now. I'll get Xu to handle the testing..."

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Selphie was happily walking and thinking about dropping the DNA off at the lab when her wrist was caught and she was dragged. Digging in her heels, she balked and tried to escape his grasp. “I said I'd get there eventually!” But he didn't seem to be buying that. With a slightly embarrassed look, Selphie was drug along and didn't really seem to have a choice in the matter. Squall was to stubborn for his own good sometimes! Ok...all the time. And really strong, she wasn't getting anywhere by digging in her heels, so she just went along with it and trotted to keep up with his pace.
So he had told her many times now. Apparently he didn't like anyone being as stubborn as he was. She hadn't meant to make him get like this, she was just thinking way to many things to think about getting her arm checked out right away. “Ok ok, I'll go, although I don't really have a choice do I.” Nope, she definitely didn't have a choice. What was up with Squall caring? Usually he would have just let her do her thing and been satisfied that she would find her way there eventually. To bad she hadn't gotten away with that right now.
She caught the eyes of a few SeeD on them and tried once again to get her arm free. At least she could walk there without getting drug along behind like a five year old kid going to time out. Her lower lip stuck out in a bit of a pout and he seemed to have gained a lot of speed while walking, because his stride was a lot longer then hers. Selphie wasn't looking forward to going to the docs, but then again she knew it needed to be done. Wetting her lips, Selphie maintained her grasp on her nanchaku even with Squall dragging her along. “Hey! I can walk without getting dragged!” Finally she was going to put up a bit of effort to get away from his grasp. She could at least keep her dignity by walking in on her own two feet instead of like a kid on a leash.

"You've said you were going right after the battle... Not eventually," He responded, "Explain to me why you're still standing here instead of in Doctor Kadowaki's office?" He did not expect and answer as he was too busy marching his way to Kadowaki's office. She should be happy that Squall did not toss her over his should like he said he would. Should would have truly been embarrassed then. Now Squall was having to play the role of the bad guy. If she would have just kept her word and went to see the doctor they would not have to be in this situation.
Her pleads were falling on deaf ears. Squall had enough. He was at his ends with Selphie and her believing she could just have her way when she pouted. After a moment of walking Squall finally called it quits. He let go off Selphie and turned to her with that blank, stern look he gave Rinoa the time when he asked how serious she and the Timber Owls were. "You're SeeD! You're not a child so stop acting like one!" He swung his arm to the side, "Your actions effect everyone! Not just yourself!"
Maybe he came off a little too harsh, but it was the only way to get it across to Selphie. He did not have a problem with her personality. Honestly, he loved it and the fact that it was much different then everyone. It brought a shine to this place. He just wished she would use her head and understand that battles are not suppose to be exciting. They are to be feared so no one would ever want to fight, so no one would ever die. "If that was Ultimecia we were just fighting you'd be dead instead of some wound... I don't want to talk about you in past tense Selphie... Not never."
"...Sorry..." He said truthfully. He stared at her for a moment before turning away and starting to walk off toward Doctor kadowaki's office. He remembered when things were simple when he was a loner. Counting and being friends with people was a huge hassle. He stopped and looked back at her. "Come on... You're still getting your arm looked at..."

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Selphie opened her mouth to try and explain but shut it when she realized he was asking a rhetorical question. She felt her eyes go downcast and just tried to keep up with him as he briskly walked toward Garden. Her short legs were going fast in a jog to keep up, but she still somehow managed to be thinking about what had happened. Her arm did hurt now, and she gritted her teeth and bore the pain. To upset to let herself cry over a little scratch. She wouldn't allow herself to! So she kept her teeth gritted and remembered that she HAD promised she would go right after the battle. In all honesty she had forgotten, but she doubted Squall would believe her, besides, she had dug herself in a deep enough hole as it was without talking any more.
Finally her arm was let go and she stumbled to a stop, heart beating quickly. The look on her face said that she knew she was in big trouble now. She didn't like that blank look, she would rather him be angry or something. Her eyes met his for a second before dropping down and looking at her shoes. Fiddling with her nanchaku didn't help either, her mind was still repeating everything he had said. “I...I...” But she was cut off when he said that her actions effected everyone. She hung her head and nodded, biting her lip. She wished she was a child, at least things had been easy back then, in the orphanage. But saying that probably wasn't the best idea ever.
She felt hurt, but knew he was speaking the truth, so she nodded without words -for once in her life- and didn't pout like she had been before. He was right, she was SeeD, she shouldn't be acting this way. When he was done she finally got the courage to look back up to meet his eyes. Would saying she was sorry help anything? Her own green eyes were mournful, sorry she had ever wished for something exciting to happen. He turned to walk away and she glanced after him before hesitating a moment. When he stopped to look at her what he said made her walk to him, her head still hung a bit.
She got close and peeked up at him, trying to judge if he was still upset. She started walking by him then on their way to the doctors office. Selphie had a feeling he was going to make sure she went. With a little sigh, Selphie slipped her hand into his in a little sister type fashion and tugged at his arm slightly. “Squall?” Where to start? Selphie needed to apologize, but she wasn't sure even what to say she was sorry for. Forgetting? For acting the child? Her green eyes held a bit more determination now, she had to say it. Squall was like a big brother to her, she had always wanted his approval in that sort of way, the whole family thing. Thats why it would always get through to her if he said something. “I'm sorry. You were right and I didn't mean to forget or make you have to save me, or not thinking or any of those thing.”
She probably hadn't made all that much sense, but they had just walked into the main gates of Garden. Remembering she was still gripping his hand, she opened her own and let it slide out, he probably wouldn't appreciate the even more childish act of holding his hand for a bit. Selphie tried to put a cheerful look on her face, though she didn't pull it off so well as she hoped she did. “I'll be Super-Duper-Ultra-Mega-Careful next time!”

Squall was feeling pretty horrible after his verbal abuse to Selphie. To make it worst she happen to look up at him with those sad eyes. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes a little longer than a standard blink. He could have came across a little nice with his words, but he knew sugarcoating it would only allow it to go in one ear and out the other. Selphie was intelligent and a great leader when she put her mind to it. She led the second team in the missle base and she did run the Garden Festival.
He eyes grew wide when he found that Selphie had slipped her hand into his. ...Why? This was a little unexpected. Squall would have expected a hug, but this! He stared down at their hands for a moment as they walked. He would let this one slide since he did come off as more of a jerk than he usually was. He could tell that this had broken Selphie. "Don't be sorry... Just be more careful."
Squall was failing horribly at trying to be friendly. He did care, but he just had a hard time showing it. It was something that he was trying to get better with and needed to start with his friends. When Selphie let go of his hand, Squall stepped in front of her and placed both of his hands on her shoulders. He did his best attempt at a smile, it was pitiful but he was trying.
"I'm always going to be here to help you rather it be some lame cat or that ugly Ultimecia," He said, "And you'll have my back too... That's what people do when they care about each other." That was Squall's best attempt at cheering someone up. Just as his smile, his cheering up was also pitiful, but he was trying. He stepped forward and pulled Selphie into a hug. He never thought he would be the one initiating a hug, especially one involving Selphie. Usually it was the other way around.

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Amazingly Squall didn't take his hand away from her holding it with her own like she thought he would. She felt better now, even humming as they walked and skipped once or twice. The skipping hurt her arm though, so Selphie quickly stopped that. So he wasn't mad? Peeking at him once more, Selphie tried to go beyond the outter shell and see if he looked angry or something. So far, so good. If he could just be not angry with her she would be happy. Him and Zell always ganged up on her. Like the time she had jumped on Zell's bed and they had both told her she was annoying. She had been angry with them then, but being angry with those two never seemed to get her anywhere.
Be more careful? She could do that! Selphie still felt bad, but at least her cheerful self had returned. Not even caring that he wasn't being a social butterfly, just the fact that he wasn't yelling at her anymore was enough to lighten her spirits. A smile was up on her lips and green eyes now sparkled like they did when she was happy. Or at least, not sad. When she finally let go of his hand Selphie just kept walking. That is, until Squall stepped in front of her. Green eyes looked up at him questioningly as he laid his hands on her shoulders. What had she done wrong now? She almost opened her mouth to tell him she hadn't meant to do whatever he was yelling at her for when he went in a completely different direction. And wait...Is that a smile?![i/] With Squall she could never tell if he was smiling or not, but it was definitely something different from his normal scowl.
A grin split her mouth as she listened to what he said. It meant more to her then he would probably ever realize. Still, even she wasn't anywhere near prepared for what happened next. Before she had time to do anything more then blink she had been pulled into a hug. A Squall hug! A.Squall.Hug! She stood there with disbelief written all over her face, sure if she dared to breathe she would wake up and realize she was dreaming. Squall was actually hugging her?! Had he ever hugged anyone? Ever? If she had to bet she would say no, at least, she couldn't ever remember getting a hug that Squall had initiated. Of course then she realized that she was just hanging like a wet noodle while he was hugging her.
That was when she wrapped her arms around him and squeezed tightly, mega hugs were the way to go! With the big smile still on her face, Selphie squeezed him and felt almost like laughing. She loved being happy. Finally she dislodged herself and grinned. “I'll always have your back! But...I dunno if I've ever heard you say you cared about me...I should be like that every day if I get a hug with the deal!” That was when she decided to dance a bit, and raised her hands in the air for a victory dance when suddenly she remembered the pain in her arm. “Oh! Ow ow ow ow! Ok lets go to the docs office before my arm falls off.” She held onto the wrist of her injured arm and tried to keep it still as she started walking again. The jarring hurt, but nothing the doctor couldn't fix up right away.

Maybe there was a lot that Squall could learn from Selphie. If only he could be in touch with his feelings as she was. Maybe he would have a problem opening up. Squall did really admire the fact that she was capable of keeping her cool no matter the situation. Honestly, Squall had no clue that Selphie looked up to him. Who looked up to a loner? Especially one that fell apart so easily. Now Squall found himself trying to read her thoughts, wondering what she could be thinking. This must be how the gang felt when they always try to read his mind.
He was totally out of his confort zone, giving out hugs. Recieving them was one thing, but giving them out was so unlike Squall. He was changing for the better? Luckily, no one was really paying attention to the scene that was occurring. When she finally return the embrace, squeezing tightly, Squall had a slight grin on his face. He was trying to return her back to her cheery state and the hug seemed to help. "I care. I just don't say it a lot... Everyone expresses themselves in different ways..."
Squall placed his hand on his forehead and sighed. She had to ruined the moment with her sad attempt at dancing. Still, he could not help but laugh slightly. "I could save you the trouble and remove it with my gunblade now..." Great! He was even trying humor now. He had to hurry and drop her off with the doctor before this got even more worst.
Entering Doctor Kawowaki's infirmary, Squall took a spot on the wall and crossed his arms. He was going to stay to see what the good doctor had to say since he was kind of the big brother.

Adorkable Cutie ”Super-Duper-Mega-Bummer!!” Selphie remained completely oblivious to what Squall was thinking. There had been times in her life when she had tried to figure out what he was thinking about. But she had never been successful at it, so though she tried to do it at some times still, for the most part she just wrote it off as Squall being Squall. Though she did still relish in trying to bring him out of his shell. It was like a personal challenge, although she did it for more reasons then just that. Squall was like a brother to her, and she hated it when people remained withdrawn and she couldn't tell what they were thinking. It drove her insane, mainly due to the fact that she herself was bubbly and outgoing.
So he really did care about them all? Even Zell? For some reason, that was harder to think about, since Squall had always been irritated by Zell. But he usually took Zell's side in things concerning her. She still thought those two had been unfair when they told her they thought she was annoying. The hug had made her happy once again completely, in fact, she had all but forgotten that she had been reprimanded just a few minutes before. “So all I have to do is figure out how you express yourself and then I'll know what your thinking?” That would be a major feat! Knowing what Squall was thinking...she didn't think even Rinoa knew most of what he was thinking, and Rinoa could read him better then any of them.
So they still walked toward the Doc's office, but Selphie didn't let that get her down. Just having Squall hug her made her happy for a long time. Squall had actually laughed at her dancing! SCORE! Thats when Squall made the comment abou-...wait...what? The look Selphie gave him was one of pure horror, but...he couldn't be serious! Could he? She had never...never heard Squall try to joke before, so when he said that she gave him a blank wide eyed look. “You wouldn't....really...do that! Would you?” She eyed up the gunblade and thought about the best way to escape if he did. Something told her he had been kidding, but one could never be to sure, especially when it was Squall, since he never joked. Ever.
When the got to the Doc's office Selphie bounced in and smiled at the Doc, giving her a wave before holding onto her wrist to keep her arm from moving. “Booya! I got my arm scratched up from those beasts the attacked Garden, Squall told me I needed to have it checked out.” “Lets have a look then.” Selphie sat down with a nod and hummed to take her mind off her arm, it hurt like none other. Looking to the side, she gave a big grin to Squall before looking down at her arm. The smile had been more to reassure herself then anything else. The Doc explained what all she was going to do, first clean it, check for infection, put gauze on it and then wrap it all up. Selphie just shrugged, “Ok Doc.” Which of course she proceeded to do. When she went to clean it out Selphie had to bite down hard on her lip not to whimper at all. Still, she went a bit crosseyed and continued biting down on her lip as the care was administered. Finally the cleaning part was all done and Selphie let out a sigh of relief, realizing then that she had been holding it the entire time.
“Ow!” Was all she could say before the Doctor turned to get the gauze. “Luckily you guys came early, that was a pretty nasty scratch, could have gotten infected really easily.” With a nod, she moved her arm a bit to test it out before the Doctor came back with the gauze and bandages. The gauze helped take some of the sting away, so when she bandaged it up Selphie didn't feel the pain so badly. “Selphie, I don't want you fighting with that arm. If it hurts badly I'll give you something for the pain, and come back tomorrow morning to have it wrapped again alright? No fighting, no rough activity and no jarring that wound open again.” With a nod, Selphie remembered what the doc had told her, “For how long?” The Doc shrugged, “I can't say for sure, but I'll tell you when you can start battling with it again.” “Thanks Doc.” She scooted off the chair and made her way back toward Squall again, green eyes happier now that she was done with the whole doctor thing. It was going to be hard following those rules though... Words: 926 Muse: goood Tagged: Squall Notes: none
