[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! She didn’t smile when he talked about the fal’cie picking someone with hate. “Fate, everyone from Gran Pulse is trained to hate those from Cocoon and everything about the planet. The children are told of the vipers that reside in Cocoon, and we are told all the evil they create. My own parents were killed in the great war of transgression in the war between Gran Pulse and Cocoon. When I was younger and more hotheaded I did hate Cocoon. Now I view it as simply something to be destroyed to save the life of my best friend.”
She smiled then when he finally burst out with what had seemed to be contained in him. Her arms crossed as she listened to him. He made a substantial plight, but then he got ridiculous in his notions. If she completed there focused alone there would be no sister in law, and if he wanted to help he would not get that chance. Any way this happened it wouldn’t be a happy ending for her and Vanille. Somehow she knew it would have t be her and Vanille together. She could not take Vanille’s portion of this focus and hope to have a chance. Only together could they come off victorious.
“It is all nice thinking Fate, but you’re not going to help me with this.” She said that firmly, she would be ‘nice Fang’ for now, but if things got rough she would show no mercy and explain none of her actions or words. She stayed there, arms crossed, watching him. “You are human, humans wouldn’t last a minute against the fal’cie. I’m not human, I’m a l’cie, and so is Vanille. Any fighting that happens against the fal’cie will have to be with us, the l’cie, the humans they chose to do their bidding will be their destruction as well. If I die, its fine, no one except Vanille would feel it, but you. You are from this era; you have friends, a life, something to live for. So get it out of your head that you’re going to help complete this focus.” That was spoken harsher; she was now remembering reality once more.
She was thinking as he spoke and she was not listening closely. Until he joked about what to call her. “I go by Fang, nothing more.” She said abruptly. To get close to anyone was a downfall. Even being close to Vanille was something that made her more able to be used. But nothing could make her stop caring for Vanille. They had been through to much. But no more attachments. They would only get used against her.
She was completely in thought now, in her mode of getting something she wanted. Right now is was getting the full truth from Vanille, there was no time for joking or fun. Eyes had become narrow as she tried to put up the front that she did not care about anything. No one but Vanille had ever cared about her, but then again, she did not get close to anyone either. She wasn’t going to allow him to think she was soft. To be soft was to die, especially in the business of the fal’cie. “Listen.” She snapped out at him, turning around and walking up to him. So close she could touch him, she leaned in for effect, “My life is hard; I’m constantly at odds with some force. I can’t babysit anyone and I sure as hell don’t like anyone. I have to think about the whole picture, the situation I’m in, trying to destroy an entire world! I don’t have time for liking anyone, so get that through your head.” She said quickly, her eyes still narrowed.
The truth was Fang was now angry, not at Fate, but at everything. At the fact that Vanille had lied to her, knowing she had to go to Vanille and tell her she knew, that she had learned something from a BOY that Vanille should have told her. Pulling herself together, Fang became once again calm and collected, but her fun side had completely dropped out of sight, locked away for now. Pivoting on her heel, she glanced once more at him and jerked her head in the direction he had said Vanille was. “Alright let’s go.” She said evenly as she turned and stalked off. Her lithe body moved with the quickness and grace that was held by a cat, she was stewing now. She regretted just a small bit that she had been so harsh with him. Yet that was reality, and she could not have him thinking she was some softy. Still, she had been overly harsh, but she would not apologize or make excuses. She sighed a bit, “Listen, I will not volunteer the information, but if she asks me I will not lie.” She said, hoping that would make him think of her less of an ogre. Words: 970 Muse: Good Notes: sorry she snapped at him, shes thinking about the whole situation and thats making her angry again.

"Well, that just sad. The problem is that it's not just SOMETHING. We're talking about destroying a world full of innocent people; a world that has people that feels the same way about their love ones as you do for Vanille." Why did the Sanctum and Pulse Fal'cie hate each other anyway? It all sounded completely stupid and childish. Nothing good could come from this. The people on Pulse were already gone, nothing left but Fang and Vanille. "Besides, it sounds like an endless cycle. You complete this focus, go to sleep for about five hundred years, only to be hit with another focus when you awake? That's not living at all. Hell, sounds to me you're just existing if you can even call it that..."
Fang was stubborn in her way so Fate was sure anything he said wasn't going to change the woman's mind. Again, he was going to be treated by a child. Fate could fight and he understood what fighting a Fal'Cie meant. So what if he did die? He knew that since traveling to Gran Pulse with Vanille yet he choose to stay because he wanted to help. "I'm not exactly human... But I guess it's unfortunate for you because i'm going to help, but if it makes you more comfortable i'll become L'Cie. Could you point me in the direction of the nearest Pulse Fal'Cie?" Besides, Fate only had one friend who was the only person who cared about him; Sonuske. The way Fate saw it was he was the cause of all Sonuse's problems. It was because of Fate that he was stuck on Cocoon instead of home in Trabia. Sonuske's life would be much better without Fate in it. Defying Fang might not been one of the brightest idea, but he had to stand his ground. Fate was going to help and the only way she was going to stop him was by taking him down herself. "A whole world of people who have friends, who have something to live for that you want to destroy but you won't let one single person risk his life for the one person you're going to destroy millions for? I'm sorry, but I find that extremely funny."
"Think about the whole picture? So you're just going to paint me out of it!? Look, I really do want you to like me, but it's not something that i'm begging for. Not a lot of people like me so this is nothing new. I don't need you to babysit me and I don't need your approval. I'm not a child and I haven't' been a child for thirteen years. Maybe a little childish and annoying, but I have my reason... Just as you have your reason for being cold and distance." Fate really didn't like the fact that she had moved so close to him when speaking, seeing it as her trying to frighten him. If so, it didn't work at all. Fate could be stubborn as well. As she turned to walk on Fate just stood in place for a moment, fustrated with the way things were going. They were going to have to settle this before they got to Vanille.
He quickly caught up to Fang and stepped in front of her to cause her to stop. "We can talk all we want, but it all boils down to me helping or not. My mind is set so I guess you're either going to have to accept the fact that I will be helping or do something to stop me. I'm sure you can just view me as something that needs to be destroyed..." He shrugged slightly. A blank expression was plastered across the boy's face. A fight wasn't something that Fate was looking for, especially against a woman, but it was what needed to be done to prove that he didn't need no babysitter. He didn't need Fang or Vanille to look after him. Vanille and him had defeat one Fal'Cie on Pulse so how hard could it be to beat a few more? "So what's it going to be boss?"

[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! “I know full well what will happen when we complete our focus, and we will complete it.” They were even in their ability to argue; obviously he wasn’t going to back down like most people did when she got her back up. “Existing is better then being a cie’th.” She pointed out, not at all offended at his choice of wording. If anything, his arguing was putting her in a better mood then she had been in previously. He earned some respect just from his ability to be stubborn and having the guts to argue with her.
Crossing her arms, she raised a brow when he countered what she had just told him and told her that he was going to come. And yet she found herself trying to keep from smiling, wow he had a temper. She shook her head when he told her that he would become a l’cie. “Hold it roight there cowboy, we both know that’s a foolish idea.” She pressed her lips together to keep from smiling and watched him. “To tell you the truth I was just trying to keep you outta my way. Obviously yer just too stubborn to let this go eh?”
Cold and distant? Maybe, she didn’t enjoy being the one that had to set everyone’s mind strait, but someone had to think about the reality of things. She didn’t respond to that, just made an aboutface and stalked off. Let him catch up if he wanted to, or she could just find Vanille herself. She didn’t really care. Let him stand there and go on for an hour about how he wasn’t a child and he didn’t need her to babysit him. Well good for him. She focused on exactly what she was going to tell Vanille when she caught up to her.
Then something made her skid to a stop, eyes widened a fraction of an inch before narrowing, although her brows were raised as she waited for what he was going to say next. Fate had stepped directly in front of her, effectively blocking her path.Hands placed on her hips, she watched with interest as he started in on how he was going to help and everything that he had told her earlier. She found that against her better judgment she found herself liking this boy that would risk his life and everything for Vanille. It would seem they both had a common ground. What he said got to her. “Damn it Fate, I’m not as heartless as you paint me to be.” She said with a little sigh, like she had just resigned herself.
She couldn’t help the little smile that appeared on her face, pulled up but not showing her teeth. Taking a deep breath, she pulled out the crystal that held bahamut at bay. Fingering it, she glanced from Fate to her crystal, letting him wait for her answer. Finally she put the crystal back away and faced him, green eyes staring into his extremely blank face. “Leave it to Vanille to find a guy that’s as stubborn as I am.” She muttered, though it was spoken out cheerfully. Hands were once again on her hips. “Alroight then Fate. You wanna throw your life away on pulse l’cie, do it.” She considered what she had just said, “Welcome to the family, you’ve got my support for being so damn stubborn and caring so much for Vanille, which believe me, you’re gonna need when you tell Vanille you told me something she didn’t want me to know. Helluva thing you have to do.” She said with a real smile, “Believe me, I don’t envy you in the least.” Noticing that he still stood in her way she cocked her head to the side. “Can we go now Mr. Stubborn?”

Existing was better than being a Cie'th? That might have been true. Maybe only just existing was the only way someone could destroy Cocoon. He understood why she had to destroy Cocoon, but why not try to search for a better way first? There had to be a loop hole in this whole Fal'Cie and L'Cie system. But it was safe to say that Fang was taking Fate a little more serious now. He was actually pretty glad that she did not draw her lance. He was not bluffing about the fight. He just feared it would be pretty one-sided since he would not have attacked her back. "See, we have something in common. You're stubborn and so am I. So what's your favorite color? Green?"
That was Fate for you. No matter the situation, he could always find time to squeeze in a little humor. That exactly why everyone hates ya. He finally stepped to the side and rubbed the back of his head, wondering if Fang actually meant what she said or if she was just saying it to get him off her back. "I don't consider it throwing my life away if it's to help a friend. Besides, I can't die. The stubborn, annoying boy never dies in these movies... At least not until the sequel. Yeah, then they just replace me with another stubborn, annoying guy who isn't nearly as good looking."
It was nice that Fate and Fang were dealing with each other now. He would still say she is heartless, but keep it to himself. "... Let's not tell Vanille I said anything and I promise I'll only speak when spoken to. When I speak I promise it will be straight to the point and somewhat intelligent. Deal?" Now that Fate thought about it, maybe this was the very reason why Vanille did not want him to meet Fang first. Why couldn't Vanille just tell Fate that Fang did not know about the focus? He would have gladly kept his mouth shut. He survived the cold-hearted Fang only to be killed by the sweetheart Vanille. "... Alright. Let's go get me killed." He let out a deep sigh and started to walk off in the direction of Vanille's location.

[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! She shook her head, “Yeah you’re stubborn, don’t push it.” She put her hands on her hips and tried not to glare as she looked at him. “And the favorite color is Blue, not green.” Shaking her head she continued on and looked at him again, “But that’s as far as we have anything in common. So do not push the issue.” She had the sudden urge to roll her eyes but she didn’t, instead her face just remained emotionless other then the bit of irritation sparkling in her eyes.
She closed her eyes as he mentioned why he couldn’t die. THAT was his reason? Oh lord, they were going to continue having problems over this whole, Fate coming along with her thing. She watched him, “Ok ok ok!” She finally said, outstretching her hands with her palms up, trying to get him to stop talking about the movies and sequal and such. “I get it, you’re not going to die, and can we get going? I really would like to talk to Vanille sooner then later.” She gave him an ‘I’m not sure we’re going to get along no matter what I said about you being part of the family’ look. Then with another shake of her head she walked off, either just walking off her emotions or trying to escape Fate. She wasn’t sure which it was actually.
It wasn’t that she hated him, no, he was probably good for Vanille, SHE liked the whole joking thing. She preferred to be with someone that knew how bad life could get and was strong enough to overcome it. And yes, she was getting to deal with this Fate better, maybe one day she would like him, which was probably closer then mentioned. If he made Vanille happy –after this was all over of course – then she would like him, but that was a long way off. So she tried to think about that and focus on the fact that she had a tough future ahead of her.
As tempting as his deal sounded she couldn’t just not say anything to Vanille. “The whole point in finding Vanille is to ask her why the hell she didn’t tell me about the focus sooner. So how could I do that and not say anything?” However that deal sounded great, having him be strait to the point and try to be intelligent was…well it would be nice. She found that she was shaking her head more and more, but at the same time she had to respect him for having the guts to face up to her. She laughed at the expression on his face when he mentioned that they were going to get him killed. That amused her greatly, and yes, she could just see Vanille making him catch all holy hell for telling her. Scary Vanille wasn’t fun; she herself could vouch for that. “Yup, better say you’re prayers now. If you think I'm scary you haven't seen Vanille when she's mad at you.”

Fang and Vanille were nothing alike. Honestly, Fate could see how the two were even friends. When Fate said a joke or was being humorous, Vanille would play along or laugh. With Fang, there was that one short moment, but then she placed her shields back up. "'Kay. Issue won't be pushed Ms. Fang." He knew that Fang had wanted his to drop the Ms. but since they were not really friends Fate decided to keep this relationship as professional as he could. For now, he would only speak when spoken to. Ask her if she likes pancakes. I'm just that would break the ice 'round her heart. So you think the ice would break before or after she breaks my face?
Staying silent was the best option, Fate could sense that he was working Fang's nerves. He would have gladly continued to work on those nerves, but he knew Vanille would not like that. He could not have Fang hating disliking him anymore than she already did. He just placed his hands behind his head, humming a little tune, as he lead the way to Vanille. The silence did not bother the boy at all. He had the imagination to hold him over until he recieved some real company. Unfortunately, all he was imagining right now was all the things Vanille would possibly do to him for opening his big mouth about the focus.
"I'm kinda thinking the reason she didn't tell you about the focus is because she doesn't want to destroy Cocoon. Think about it... You're over-protective, hard as ice Ms. Fang. Vanille tells you the focus, you try to destroy Cocoon to protect her." He shrugged slightly, "Maybe i'm wrong about that, but it sounds pretty logically. If you want I could make it out into a word problem or maybe some equation?" He kept walking forward and decided to give her some time to work out her problem. Meanwhile, he would try to think of a way to save himself from Vanille. "Well, I doubt she can be as cold as you though. Seriously, I think i'm getting frost bite on my ears," He said, "As long as she doesn't hit me in the face I'll be okay. That way they could identify my dead body without having to go through all those tests."

~HighWind Nightmare~ "You want to keep breathing? Shut up and come quiet." She wanted to scream when he called her ms. Fang. Literally, hadn't she just told him to call her Fang?! But she contained it and just sighed a bit, she really couldn't win with this guy. He just kept going, and she was at loss at what to do. If he didn't care so much for Vanille she would just let loose all holy hell onto him, but as of right now she could just stand there and try to be civil. Honestly, they were getting nowhere, at least she wasn't. And he was just getting more...funny with her, like he honestly thought himself untouchable. Heaven help him.
At the same time she found herself begrudgingly liking him, just for the fact that he could take her and throw a joke in as well. If she hadn't been labeled a l'cie and wasn't now overwhelmed with the knowledge that she would have to become Ragnerok and destroy an entire world with the other option being that her best friend would become a cie'th, she just might laugh at his jokes. As it was she was holding onto the bit of sanity she had left. So she took a deep breath and felt her own nerves relax. The next time he made a crack at her like the smart alex he was she wasn't going to hold back. Oh no, he would feel the wrath of Fang.
When he spelled out the reason, which she had already determined, she just shrugged, not letting that get to him. “I won't 'try' to destroy Cocoon, I WILL destroy Cocoon. And you don't think I haven't already figured out the reason she didn't want me to know? I'm not stupid Fate, if thats what you're thinking.” She said in a deadly emotionless voice. When he said he'd spell it out a different way she just about lost it on him, but luckily he went ahead. WHY WHY WHY did Vanille have to like THIS guy?! All it would take was one throw from her lance...
Shrugging, she just thought back to the problem at hand, she couldn't do Fate in so it would do no good to think about it. Fate of course was going on in his ridiculous manner. She didn't respond to him at first, but then she nodded, “Better get used to it while I have a focus to finish. No horsing around for me when theres work to be done.” She wasn't disturbed at all that he found her so evil. No time to be nice when everything around you could crumble down in seconds.

"I've actually think your pretty intelligent. I'm just trying to be a jerk and i'm failing horribly." He said, "You want to hurt me? You can hit me, I promise I won't tell Vanille." He shrugged. Unfortunately, getting on people nerves was something that Fate was too good at. It happened to be one of the reason he was not like. Flat-out annoying. "Focus to finish? So you're saying that you're not like this all the time and this is just a tough-girl act?" He said, "Could I put on a tough-guy act too? I promise i'll be as much of an asshole as you."
He chuckled lightly, enjoying himself too much with Fang. Despite them not getting along Fate was actually having fun. He continued to hum as they walked down the beach. He kicked up the sand in front of him, but not too much because he did not want to get any on Fang. Though it would have been a good way to tempt her, but he would leave that to his words. "Want to sing campfire songs until we reach Vanille? I promise I won't tell anyone that you've sung with me if you do."
Yeah, this was not going to work out at all. There was no team chemistry here and there was no way Vanille was going to hold them together. He let out a deep sigh at they arrived at the location that Fate had left Vanille side at. He prayed that she would still be here, especially after annoying Fang so much. All she needed was a reason to kill him.

~HighWind Nightmare~ ”It doesn't matter what our focus is. We do it. Whether we like it or not.” She decided not to respond at all when he talked the first time. If she did start talking she might just agree to hit him when he offered, and that wouldn't sit well with Vanille, so she just shrugged and didn't speak. Fang wasn't much on talking when it wasn't necessary, so she just listened, or rather, tried to block him out, to what Fate said and got her self control back. When he talked the second time she sent him a warning look. It spoke, 'I'm getting really annoyed so shut up and back off.'
“I can 'lighten up when there's time for it, but there isn't any time for it when your life hangs in the balance between life and death every day of your life.” With that note of finality Fang walked on, but she also heard him chuckle. “Fate I've been patient since your a friend of Vanille's...don't make me regret that.” She wasn't going to let him annoy her any more, that was it, her note of finality, if he chose to want to make her kill him that was his choice.
When they got there Fang didn't see Vanille. Glancing around, she crossed her arms and shot him a look that would kill when he mentioned campfire songs. “The only campfire songs I know are the ones that my lance sings.” She went back to looking for Vanille, “Alroight then, she here or not?” If she wasn't and he had just wasted her time...she left that thought alone and suddenly sat down on the sand, one leg bent and the other outstretched. Leaning back, she decided to look at the stars while they waited. It wasn't so dark here as it was in Gran Pulse, where you could actually see all the stars without the lights of the city, but they were still there and beautiful as always. They were the one thing that remained the same, even through 500 years of change.

It seemed that getting on Fang's nerves was somewhat working. Now he was feeling a little bad. This was one of Vanille's closest friends so he had to make this work if he wanted to stay with Vanille. He definitely was going to be the one who would drive Fang and Vanille apart. He would walk before he ever done something like that. He took a deep sigh and ran to catch back up to her.
"I apologize for being rude... I understand that this isn't the life you asked for or the life you want Vanille to have. So if we're going to deal with each other i'll just keep to myself, but you're going to have to stop speaking to me like i'm naive. You truly don't know anything about me or what i've been through, what I had to live through. Everyone's life hangs in the balance between life and death... You, Vanille, me, everyone. I could drop dead right now in this sand or maybe two years from now does that mean I should stop living and start worrying myself? No. The only difference is that you and Vanille have been hit with something like a cancer, you don't beat it then you don't live."
Honestly, Fate wanted to understand Fang, but they were just two totally different people. He did not understand how she could get along with Vanille so great, but could not even bare him in the least bit. He would stop with his humor and his words and save it for Vanille. She was the conversationalist out of the group, Fate could see that. When they reached the location, Fate looked around but Vanille was not anywhere in sight.
"... She left me. Man, should have seen this one coming," He said, kicking the sand under his feet, "I'm an idiot who can't even defeat hos own demons. No one wants to be around that..." Actually, Fate had seen it coming. He just did not realize how close it was. Well, there was nothing left to do now except to recieve his punishment for Fang. He sat down to the left of Fang, with a few feet between them. He unleashed the buckle that held his sheath on his back, letting the blades drop. He lifted his shirt up to reveal his back to Fang. Just below his right shoulder was his l'cie brand. "I always thought my first tattoo would be like a chocobo, but this one looks way more cool," He said, "Anyway, sorry. I told Vanille to stay here and we'd find you together. Guess she thought I would get in the way too and left. My bet is she's searching for you..." He fixed his shirt and using his left hand pushed the blades from behind him so that he could just lay in the sand. He was sure that Fang would have questions now after seeing that he was a L'Cie too, but that was not important. She had to find Vanille. ((lol. It's cool. I's thought it would be cool if Fate revealed that he was a l'cie to you. I was just going to wait until I got my 150 post to make the app so I could get the eidolon I want though. Hope that's cool. ^_^ Also when if Vanille going to appear... I really don't want Fang to hurt Fate. >_>))

~HighWind Nightmare~ ”“If you don't have the nerve for it, I'll do it myself! Go on alone, get stronger, and smash Cocoon out of the sky!” Fang shrugged, honestly, it was fine that he had been somewhat of a jerk, because she hadn't exactly been the nicest woman to him either. Apologies were often simply excuses, and so she really didn't need them. Saying your sorry wasn't always truthful. Actions spoke louder then words with her, because words were often fake. But she decided she should just let him speak and shut up for a moment. She had kept walking while he was talking, but interestingly his words were getting through to her, at least a little bit. Though it was hard for her to swallow her pride, when she realized the sense in some actions, she never shirked that. If she found it a good explanation/reasoning or etc, she would acknowledge it. She may be stubborn, but not to the point where she would ignore good reasoning.
It made sense. Of course, she knew everything he said, but stopping to think about it took time she didn't have. To her it didn't matter. Her brand was scorched, time wasn't ticking for her, though it could start up at any time. Her real concern was for Vanille. Her brand was active, whatever the hell that meant. She wasn't sure, but she couldn't let Vanille end up a cie'th! Still...for such a hyper joking man he could sober up and actually walk the strait path a bit, be serious. A quality she really think he didn't have. Seriousness. But he could always surprise her.
“Your not so bad Fate. Once you straiten up and quit giving me that sass.” She said with a sidewards glance. Almost daring him to make a crack at her about that. One crack...just one...and he would be wishing there was a way to stop time and suck his words back in. They got there and then Fate burst out about how he should have seen it coming. With a sigh, Fang lifted her head to the sky and put her hands on her hips. Of course he would have to go all emo on her. She would rather him be joking then this depressed young guy he had become right in front of her. “Ok none 'a that now, I'm sure she'll be here sometime.” She honestly didn't know what to do other then tell him to man up. So she decided to do that. “Man up Fate, I'm sure theres a reason she wasn't here...with Missy there's always a reason.”
Thats when he sat down next to her and lifted up his shirt. Her eyes got wide and her mouth almost dropped open from surprise when she recognized a l'cie brand. THE HELL?! He was a l'cie?!?! Green eyes glittered then, who did he think he was anyway? He continued talking but she was practically seeing red and didn't hear him. Then she remembered how angry she had gotten at Angeal, which hadn't gotten her anywhere. For 10 seconds she closed her eyes, breathed deeply and calmed herself down. When she opened them he had dropped his shirt back down. Finally she trusted herself to speak calmly, “Tch. Of course, I shoulda seen THAT one comin'. Is it a trend to become a l'cie?! Or does everyone just fall into things?! Damn it.” with another sigh she placed a hand on her forehead and tried to think...

Sass? Yeah, maybe sassing off was not the answer, but it was somewhat fun. He shrugged a little and grinned. "Humor is my shield and sword. It's what keep me safe. It keeps me from ever getting cut too deep. There will be no more sassing from me boss. Unless you want me to give you a reason to hit me?" He shrugged slightly. He caught her glance and knew she wanted him to test her. But he would not. He would give her that time to think and also give himself time to think. Was this woman trying to cheer him up with her words? If Vanille knew what was best for here then of course she left. Fate was bad company.
"Usually when I tell people about myself they really don't want to be friends with me anymore," He said, looking up at the sky, "Seeing as you really don't like me and your saying Vanille didn't really leaves means it must be true, right?" She could just be building him back up to watch he stumble to the ground again. Fang did not seem like one of those type of people. After revealing his brand, Fate laid in the sand making a sand angel. He was sure she was going to think this was childish, but he needed something to do while waiting for Vanille.
"I've heard all the cool kids were getting brands so I got one..." He said. Honestly, he was a bit scared. He was not scared that he would not be able to complete his focus. It actually seemed like an easy task. The problem was that he was going to complete it because of what he would have to do. He would rather become one of the cie'th and die with the little honor and pride that he had. "Seriously, when I first showed up here I stumbled upon that vestige thingy, got lost within, i'm assuming that huge thing was the Anima... I blacked out and woke up branded. So I guess you can say I kinda fell upon it." ((You do know that it's kinda Fang's fault that Vanille and her are l'cie, right? ^0^))

~HighWind Nightmare~ ”“If you don't have the nerve for it, I'll do it myself! Go on alone, get stronger, and smash Cocoon out of the sky!” She sat back on the ground with her face lifted to watch the stars, one of the things she actually enjoyed. To her the stars were...steady. They had been here forever and would be there forever. Even the five hundred years they had been asleep the stars hadn't changed, and on a different world. They were still there, which comforted her somewhat. Something, somewhere wasn't going to change. Green eyes were hidden in the darkness, but she almost rolled them when he tried to get her pity. She didn't give out compassion easily, and Fang wasn't about to give it out now. Rarely did she ever show the compassion, the few times she did were usually to reserved only for Vanille.
Back to the matter at hand. He was a l'cie. What did that mean for the situation? She wanted to hit him upside the head and then walk away, but of course she didn't. Just kept herself in check and glared off over the water. Then he explained. Anima...she remembered her deep seated grudge she held over Anima. Anima hadn't been able to protect Gran Pulse! “Damn Anima!!!” She burst out angrily. The burst of emotion within her made her freeze then. Could it...Anima...her focus had something to do with Anima didn't it. Why couldn't she remember?! Now she knew her focus, to destroy Cocoon...but didn't mean she could remember anything else.
Yet anima seemed to be a big part of that. She needed to remember. She needed that memory, but every time she dug deeper within her brain and tried to remember it seemed like she got nowhere. If she could have remembered she would realize she had gotten her and Vanille into this mess. She had never meant for Vanille to follow her, she had meant to go it alone. But she couldn't remember, and that made things even more complex then they were. “The Vestige...” She groaned and rubbed her forehead and glanced over at him...what the hell was he doing in the sand? Shaking her head, she tried again. “Do you know what your focus is?”
A bigger question floated into her head, and she really wondered about. Crossing her arms, she looked at him again. “And does Vanille know?” That was the thing, if Vanille knew...would she ever get involved with a l'cie? That made it sound harsh, but Fang looked at every angle in a situation. And this looked bad, especially for him and being a l'cie.
Words: 566 Muse: meh Notes: yeah I do, but at this point Fang doesn't remember that part right?

"Being a l'cie is not really a big problem for me," He added, "I'll just look at my focus as a mission given to me by one of my instructors." He was sure that she was not going to like the way he was looking at this l'cie thing. This was nothing new for Fate. Only difference this time was that it was a god, a fal'cie that place a title on him. Fate could feel Fang's hatred for Anima. He understood it was that Pulse fal'cie that placed the brands on Fang and Vanille, but he felt like the hatred went even deeper than that.
"Five hundred years ago. That war... Your parents were killed?" He asked. Well, Fate could just assume the answer to that question was yes. It just seemed like their parents had died and Fang was force to grow up quickly. Then again, he did not expect her to answer the question. He leaned up and let out a silent yawn, returning his gaze to the night sky. He may have been in a different world, but the night sky always looked the same. When she asked what his focus was he shook his head no. Yes, he was lying, but it did not matter if he did not plan on doing it to begin with. They was a few things Fate was good at and one happened to be keeping a straight face when he lied.
"Not really... It really doesn't matter right now anyway. I don't plan on worrying about my focus until i'm done helping Vanille." He understood that he had a date to complete his focus. He had gather all the information from Vanille, but he did not care if he turned into a mindless monster. Then Fang asked another question; did Vanille know? "She made me promise that I wouldn't become a one... But I was already one a few days before I ran into her so no. She doesn't know," He sighed, "I did and do want to tell her, but we both know if I did that she would be worried about me and completing my focus." ((Nah, I don't think at this point she remembers. And why you assume he's trying to get her pity lol? He thinks she's cold and heartless so that's the last thing he would try for. He was actually aiming for her understanding him a little. ))

She didn't respond to how his outlook on being a l'cie was. Whatever his focus, she was sure he was in for a rude awakening when it didn't work out like any little mission. Plus her mind was still wrapped up with Anima and thoughts of Gran Pulse. He had to ask about her parents then. Fang could barely remember then, yet they were there in her memory. When she had heard the reports of the l'cie and fal'cie from Cocoon, Fang hadn't realized then...just what that was going to mean for her. The Transgression, it had taken everything away from her. No, Anima had. Anima hadn't been able to protect Oerba, or her parents. It all traced back to that one damn fal'cie. From the moment she had heard of her parents death Fang had begun to hate Anima. She remembered that part, it was her childhood, clear as day, it was the events of becoming a l'cie that she couldn't remember.
“In the Transgression, almost everyone's parents died. It wasn't anything different that I lost my own.” Fang kept her voice as emotionless as possible in the situation, it was over and done with, it had happened over 500 years previous. She turned her face to look in the direction of the ocean, what would have happened if Anima hadn't failed to protect her village? Vanille and her wouldn't have grown close or maybe even met, since they met in the orphanage. She had become what she was because of the events of her life. Hard, slightly callused, stubborn.
She covered her face with her hands and wanted to groan, of course he hadn't told Vanille. Green eyes, shielded by the darkness, opened up and stared into the sky again. “You haven't told Vanille...” He wanted to get himself killed didn't he. “You shouldn't have promised about it Fate...shes going to be hurt when you do tell her.” Of course, Fang didn't know that for sure, but the fact remained that Vanille wans't going to be happy about him being a l'cie. He did have a point about her being worried...but was it better not to know? She wasn't altogether sure Vanille would think that way. Actually she was sure Vanille wouldn't think that way. “But hey, its your own funeral. Just be glad I didn't hit you.” Words: 538 Muse: bleh, I did it in a rush Tagged: Fate Notes: none
