It was a nice day some might even say beautiful. The bright sun was beating down on two people and only a few white clouds dotting the blue sky. One of the men screamed or at least tried to, but instead could only choke on the blood pouring into his lungs and die. “Maggot”
Damian dropped the last body onto the blood-soaked sand and walked away. He took a deep breath and listened to the waves as they lapped at the beach, trying to calm himself down. For weeks they had studied that portal and for weeks it stayed opened, but as soon as Damian and his assigned squad walked through it decided to close. He can’t remember exactly what happened next, he just knew that he lost it and killed them all. He looked down at his hands and noticed blood on both his hands and shirt.
Shaking his head he stripped his shirt and took a couple steps into the sea. After tossing the black rag to the waves, Damian bent down and cleaned himself up. The blood pooled at first but was quickly washed away. As Damian washed his hands he let himself look around and see what kind of place he found himself in. This world seemed to be very bright and tropical with a lot of palm trees and water as far as the eye could see. He didn’t like it. He preferred the artificially lit rooms of the mansion and the heavy curtains hanging over his window to block out the sun. Not to far off there seemed to be a city, hopefully if he went there he could find some answers to where he was.
Damian dried his hands on his loose fitting pants then continued on down the beach. He now kind of regretted killing the squad that came through the portal with him. It wasn’t that he felt loyal to them, or even bad about killing them. It just meant more trouble for him when he got home. People didn’t like it when you killed your own men. Then again it would probably be easier for him to get around without a bunch of guys in armor following him around, so killing them really wasn’t such a bad thing.
The beach slowly transformed itself in to the jungle as he walked. The jungle was much more to Damian‘s liking. Even though it was more humid under the canopy it was darker and he didn‘t have to squint to see where he was going. There were many types of flora that he had never seen before. A few peaked his interested, but he decided not to investigate just incase they were deadly. After about an hour of walking through the lush foliage he reached the city.
Before he even reached the gates he could hear the roar of people coming from inside. When he walked through the gate, it wasn’t expecting. This place was more advanced then his home in some areas but seemed to be behind in others. The dull roar that he was greeted with when he first came up to the city seemed to be coming from a giant sphere. At first glance it looked like the sphere was made of glass, but the closer you looked you could tell that there were people inside and they were swimming. Water was the next thing that popped into Damian’s head. It was hard to believe, but when he looked around he noticed that there were large screens showing people swimming, passing the ball, and tackling each other. It seemed to be a sport of some sort and that thought was confirmed when a goal was made and the cheering of the crowd grew louder.
A few people were looking at him, but he just ignored them. At first it thought that it was because he was shirtless, but he noticed that that wasn’t uncommon. He then realized that like in his home world he was at least a head taller then everyone around. It seemed that no matter where he went some things would never change. That thought brought a bit of comfort to him. Still now that he was here he didn’t really know what to do. He didn’t want to draw any more attention to himself by asking around. So he joined a few fans around one of the screens, and watched the rest of the game.
