Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early With a heavy sigh, Reno was sitting back at his desk in the ShinRa building. His elbows were resting on the desk and his head rested in his hands as he looked down at the wood. Stress just seemed to pile onto him in just a matter of days. How could he think straight right now? He had so much to worry about. This focus was going to be the death of him…either completing it or just thinking about it would kill Reno. But, through it all, there was on positive thing that kept coming to mind, Cissnei, and the way she came after him with some of the other Turks. Keeping him from getting killed or running away from his problems…it was probably the best thing she could’ve done for him.
After the while he had been in Kalm, he had been thinking about life a lot. What more was there to do when you had to plan your future and sulk about the present? Life was all he had thought about lately, that the future would hold. Sure he might turn into a Cie’th if he denied his focus, or he would end up destroying ShinRa, either way there was no exact bright future for him…but he could always try to live life to the fullest until his brand was at the end of its progression. Reno knew that some of the thoughts he had been thinking about, to live his life to the fullest, had probably been a bit crazy from the start, but Cissnei reminded him that you had to enjoy life, accomplish things that you never thought possible. It was then and there he took in a huge sigh and decided to go for a completely crazy idea, no matter what. Even if it made him look like a complete fool, he was going to do whatever it took to accomplish one last thing on his ‘bucket list’ before any more chaos got to him.
Sitting at his desk he rose his head and leaned back in his chair placing his feet up on the desk as his arms were placed over his stomach and interlocked together. Reno breathed out heavily as his eyes rose to the ceiling, staring at the lights he was thinking of a way to bring all this up. First off, he needed to find Cissnei, but second, he didn’t want to be lame or too cliché about things. He really had to put his thinking cap on for this one. He didn’t have many ideas right about now on how to approach this situation. Go on another date? Recreate the first date? No, too cliché, of course cliché things seemed to work in Reno’s favor, at least they had in the past. Perhaps just say what he needed to say in the work place? Take her out? But what to do! His mind was racing, but at least this time it wasn’t about whether he would choose to live and destroy the company he loved, or just die. His thoughts were a bit brighter than that, which made him smile to himself as he closed his eyes, leaning back in his chair still fiddling his hands around with each other.
“Alright Reno…so how’re we gonna pull this one off?” Reno said to himself as he pulled his feet off the desk and got up to his feet, adjusting his jacket before strolling over to the door that led out of his office. First off, find Cissnei, talk plans with her, set up a date or something? That was probably all he could do right now, he wanted to do this right and make it as special for her as possible. As his mind continued to race through the various ideas of dates he could whip up real fast on such short notice. He wanted this done, and done now. Reno was lacking major patience right about now, at least on this subject. As he reached for the doorknob he felt his wrist start to burn in pain. He grimaced as he just tried to ignore it as he walked out of his office, his face a bit twisted from the burning jolts of pain he was receiving, but still…he tried to keep his composure completely normal. He didn’t want any sympathy from anyone about all this. He was going to suck it up and deal with it.
Reno walked through the halls, keeping his right wrist close to his body as he clutched it with his left hand, still trying to seem somewhat normal, he glanced down the hall back and forth looking around for his beautiful girlfriend, Cissnei. Coming to Cissnei’s office door, he didn’t know if she was here or not, but he figured might as well try here first. He dropped his wrist to his side and placed a smile on his face as he just opened the door and walked in, shutting the door behind him and looking over at her desk with that dazzling smile of his, the one she clearly pointed out once before. “Yo Cissnei, enjoying the day so far?” He said with a raised eyebrow as he tried to play himself off as casual and cool. Shoving his hands in his pockets he walked over to her desk and stood in front of it before catching the time on a clock in the room, it was getting late. Well, not like late late, but the sun was down by now that was for sure. “Or should I say night?” He shrugged a bit with a smirky smile as he kept his eyes locked on Cissnei. “Say, you have a lot of work to do or something? Because I was thinking we could do something tonight…”Words: 1052 Muse: Fantastic! Tagged: Cissnei <3 Notes: I hope this is okay for a start!

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." A headache. Pounding, throbbing, it had a way of making life miserable for a certain young woman. Sitting at her desk, Cissnei rubbed her temples and stared down at the paperwork in front of her. There was so much. It seemed like it never ended, or never would end at least. With a little sigh she put her elbows on the desk and rested her head in her hands, closing her eyes and letting her shoulders relax a bit. Tense, Cissnei hadn't been sleeping so well lately, the tension of everything that had happened was getting to her. Cissnei...you really need a vacation or something... Like that was going to happen. Besides, she had only come back a few weeks prior, she highly doubted President Rufus would allow her to take a vacation having been working for only a few weeks. Besides, that whole episode with Reno on the roof and them forcing Rufus to back down probably hadn't set well with him either.
Rubbing her eyes, Cissnei opened her desk drawer and got out some medication for her headache. Lifting the water off her desk, Cissnei swallowed and resumed her staring at the paperwork. The whole reason she was still in her office this late was that she hadn't been able to concentrate all day. First it had started as simply thinking about all that had happened, but it had progressed to a splitting headache that made concentrating harder to do. With the medication it dulled considerably. So after hours of staring at the paperwork Cissnei decided to really get at it. No use putting it off any longer.
As she filled it out, Cissnei's mind turned far away. Far away as in Reno Sinclair. First it turned to 'that night.' as she had labeled it in her mind. Probably the worst night of her life, thinking that Reno had left for good. Yes, 'that night' was a good labeling. It had started there, when she had thought the one thing she loved, really loved had gone away. Somehow she had gone on though, rallied her fellow Turks and went to get him back. A part of her had thought they might never find him, but the determination in her wouldn't allow her to give up. Still, it hadn't been easy, especially when Rufus had popped up and had tried to kill Reno. At that moment part of her had froze, almost as if she was going to die along with him. If it had come right down to it, Cissnei would have done just that.
Enough of that. Cissnei's mind turned to good things. What she had labeled as 'the night' was the night Reno had taken her on a date and asked her to be his girlfriend. A smile lifted on her lips when she thought about that. Eyes glanced down at her right hand, holding the ring that he had placed there. Cissnei had a weird way of thinking she was dreaming when good things happened to her. The best thing? Having Reno ask her to be his girlfriend. When she had talked to Maiah that time Cissnei had blushed and been shy about telling her, who would have thought Cissnei would end up with Reno? Quiet, shy little Cissy and energetic, outgoing, prank pulling Reno. She knew what they all said though, opposites attracted. He made her lighten up and want to have fun and pull things on people. Like buying Rude that pet rock.
Her headache was dulled, apparently thinking about lighter things was helping, along with the medication of course. Yet it still pounded dully and Cissnei rubbed her forehead. Glancing down at the paperwork Cissnei was surprised to see she had almost all of it done. Apparently thinking while she was writing didn't affect her ability to get things done. With another sigh Cissnei glanced down at her ring again, trying to keep her mind on the lighter things. No matter what, Reno was here with her and he had promised that he would always be there for her. That promise he had given her...for a moment, for a brief moment she had wondered if everything he had said had been false. But her determination hadn't left her. But what would the future bring? Would she ever get to finish that list with Reno? She knew being a l'cie was horrible, but she didn't know exactly everything about it. Maybe it was better that way, or maybe it wasn't.
Such thoughts...the door opened while she was still deep in thought staring down at her paperwork. Just a few more pages....suddenly a voice spoke out. A voice she adored. Crimson eyes flashed up and saw him standing there, almost as if he had walked right out of her thoughts. That smile...it was one of those dazzling smiles she had told him about. Immediately she smiled back, almost like all her fears and what she had been thinking about the hours previous, the headache, the nights of not sleeping had vanished. Pushing back from her desk, her pen was set down and Cissnei walked around the desk toward him. He made her instantly forget the bad and become happy. Coming close Cissnei slid her arms around his waist and hugged him, laying her head on his chest for a second before leaning back. “Its a lot better now that your here.” That sounded even mushier then it had in her mind.
It was still cold outside, but it was beginning to warm up, spring would be coming soon. He asked about her work and Cissnei blinked before turning her head to look at the paperwork on her desk. Only a few pages more. Hesitating a second, Cissnei knew she should get the paperwork done, but her motivation was pretty much depleted. It could wait until morning, she wouldn't forget about it. Besides, doing something sounded nice. What she really needed to do was relax and forget about work for a few minutes. “It can wait until morning, I wasn't really concentrating anyway.” With a barely audible sigh Cissnei laid her head back on his chest and closed her eyes, wondering what he had in mind to do. Anything would be better then staring down at paperwork ready to stab her eye out with a fork. Ok, exaggeration, but still, even if they were going to go run a marathon, at least it would be with Reno. “What did you have in mind?”

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno never used to be this deep of a thinker, but now with his life turned upside down, he had a lot to think about. Future, present, past even, and try to maintain himself normally before this whole focus thing really went into play. But for now, at this very moment, he had his mind on something else rather than the doom and gloom of despair and a horrible fate, oh no, Reno was gladly thinking of the one person in his life that he loved and cared for the most. Cissnei was always on his mind anymore, if anything his thoughts were always drawn back to her, especially after he left ShinRa to hide out in Kalm for awhile. Those memories about ripped his heart out though, the look on her face, the tears she shed when he was leaving…he wanted to erase those memories from his mind, but he knew as long as he thought about her, and that would probably be till the end of time, those memories and images would still linger and haunt him for a long time.
Every day Reno had been gone, even though it wasn’t all that long, it did feel like an eternity without Cissnei, and his mind always brought him back to her despair, the horrid look on her face that hurt him more than any focus or Eidolon could bear to unleash upon him. It was almost enough for him to just throw in the towel and return to ShinRa on his own accord, or at least call Cissnei and talk to her, tell her he was okay, explain everything to her and try to make her understand, but before he knew it, they were all there searching for him! And Rufus, oh lord Rufus was ready to make Reno eat lead. With his focus revealed and no intentions of completing it or not stated, it seemed the President was ready to take down Reno just to ensure his company’s safety, which Reno completely understood. He was still in a bit of a jam, trying to decide what to do. Perhaps there was a loophole around this whole focus mess? If there was one, Reno wanted to find it before his time was up, which he didn’t exactly know how long he had left, all he knew was he was going to make the most of this time.
With a grin on his face, Reno shook all those complex thoughts from his mind and kept only one subject in his head, Cissnei. As he walked into her office he grinned at her and looked at the paperwork that was on her desk. So she had been distracted from paperwork? Reno had gotten quite a bit done today, but he didn’t have nearly as much, it seemed with recent events he wasn’t exactly around to get assigned anything so whatever he had to take care of now, he was on top of and got it all done. He had just spent the past 2 hours or so sitting in his office just thinking. He’d lost track of time but was glad to catch Cissnei in her office. The smile on her face told Reno that she was glad he had came in, and he watched her get up from her desk and make her way over to him before hugging him and laying her head against his chest. He took in a deep breath and smiled as he kept his arms tight around her back.
Holding her there in his arms, Reno was content. All his worries had washed away as she spoke. Her voice was like music to his ears, even if she didn’t say much, he did listen to her and enjoyed every minute of her talking. “I don’t think my being here can make that much of a difference…can it?” He said looking down at her with an eyebrow raised as one corner of his mouth turned upright in a smirky smile. Cissnei was cute like that, the things she said, it amused Reno no matter what, it was one of the many things he loved about her. She was just so…perfect, at least in his eyes that’s how he saw her. The perfect girl, and him being that guy who you wouldn’t imagine being with such a lady like this. “Well I’m glad I caught you in here.” He said in a cheery tone as he felt a burning pulse from his brand, but…really he didn’t think much of it, it was something he was going to have to get used to.
Reno glanced at the paperwork still on Cissnei’s desk at the same time she did. Perhaps something tonight wasn’t a good idea, unless she wasn’t too worried about getting everything done tonight. There was always tomorrow right? That was Reno for you, first class procrastinator…at times. It’s not like paperwork was exactly his favorite thing to do, but putting it off for the night wouldn’t hurt too much. With a smirk he listened to her speak again. “Yeah, sounds sorta like the day I had…zero concentration whatsoever.” He said as she rested her head against his chest again and he felt at peace. Closing his eyes for a brief moment he thought about what he wanted to do, something simple and easily accessible at this time of night. So, what exactly was there?
Keeping his arms wrapped around Cissnei, Reno then opened his eyes and smiled to himself. “Well I was thinking…since its sort of short notice and this was a spur of the moment decision, we could grab a couple blankets and go to the roof…watch the stars? Or does that make me sound too sensitive?” He said with a small chuckle. “I mean, if that’s the case I’m sure I could find a good sports game on T.V. we would order pizza and I could sit there and not listen to a word you say if that makes me sound more manly?” That was of course a joke, but it didn’t sound like a bad night for guys. Sitting around eating food and watching sports. Yep, a good night when you weren’t planning on hanging out with your girlfriend. “I’m thinking the first idea sounds a bit better.” Besides! It’d give Cissnei an excuse to snuggle with Reno out in the cold, that was a definite win, and plus it would add to a great atmosphere, for when Reno’s master plan went into effect. ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei stood with her arms wrapped around Reno and her head rested on his chest, body more relaxed then it had been in a long time. Long days of tracking down Reno and then missions had taken their toll on the Turk. A relaxing moment was needed on the weary girl. Being a Turk she had more stamina and grit then most people, being used to running around on missions and beating people up. However it wasn't as if her body was enhanced like the SOLDIER's had been. The worry and the anxious last few weeks had made her tired. So closing her eyes, Cissnei's shoulders slumped and she felt his heat radiate onto her. She never felt so happy or so safe as when his arms were around her. A few more minutes and she might just fall asleep standing there leaning on him.
His arms tightened around her and Cissnei pulled her head back to look at him, opening her eyes as she did so. Something about him being there calmed her down and helped her to forget about all the bad things that had happened recently. It was nice, to be able to forget for a few moments. These days the thoughts usually plagued her. Her quiet nature made it so she usually over thought things. Now with all of these thoughts added along with her normal her brain was swirling from activity. Best to try and keep a leash on it or else she might explode or something of the sort. Thankfully that was all kept under check with Reno here. If only he knew just how much her day was brightened up when he was there with her. It would probably just make his ego get ten times larger, but it was true. When he was there her world got brighter.
With a little chuckle, Cissnei looked up at him -and it was a long ways up- with a smile on her face to show her clean white teeth. If he only knew just how much her worries vanished when he was there. “Having a headache all day with paperwork. Yes, you coming makes that much of a difference.” Her eyes were weary as she looked up at him and thought about her day. Missions she didn't mind, actually she liked the missions. It was the paperwork after that she disliked. And it seemed that there was a ton of paperwork recently. With the portals and PSICOM, Reno becoming a l'cie, the Turks all coming back and everything else there was hardly any time to breathe. Every time she got the paperwork filled out her desk was piled with more. Almost like Rufus was doing this on purpose.
Pushing those thoughts out of her mind, Cissnei nodded, “I really think I would have pulled my hair out if I had to do any more of that stuff.” That comment probably would tell him just how serious she was that her day hadn't been all sugar and rainbows. But that could all be over with since he was here and offering to go do something. Anything would be better then just staring at paperwork, it just made it extra nice that she could be doing something with Reno. Her boyfriend and her favorite person in all of Gaia. Loosening her arms just a bit, she held him loosely and yawned. Features were a bit tired looking, but Cissnei had livened up since Reno got there. The dull pounding inside her head didn't seem so bad. Of course, it could have just been the medication making it go down, but somehow she thought it might be the fact that she felt less anxious and stressed when Reno was with her.
Looking up at him still, Cissnei waited as he started talking, a smile on her lips. Just standing here hugging him would be fine with her, but actually doing something would be fun as well. Something that got her mind off of the things going on. Yes, that was exactly what she needed. What he came up with actually made the smile widen. If it had been December she might have just stared at him like he was crazy, but with the springtime coming soon, with blankets they could be warm and have fun looking at the stars. That sounded pretty much like the best thing possible right at the moment. Cissnei didn't have the energy to go traipsing all around Edge looking for entertainment. Before she could respond he came up with a second scenario. That part made her laugh, she couldn't help it. Between her laughter she would talk before little chuckles came out again. “Manly? I'm not thinking thats the word for it, but hey, whatever you think. If thats so I'll eat all the pizza and turn to TV to some horrible chick flick.”
Putting her head back on his chest Cissnei sighed again. “That first idea sounds better, your right. I have a bunch of blankets we could grab on the way up.” The idea was sounding better and better. Besides, she absolutely loved the stars. And of course, there was always the snuggling Reno part of the deal. She could do so under the premise of being cold too, so that was a plus. So standing there, Cissnei thought about how great it would be to just go and watch the stars instead of sitting here with paperwork. Unwrapping her arms from around his waist, Cissnei turned to the desk and looked at the paperwork. “Let me just put this away and then we can go ok?” It wouldn't do any good to let someone see all the paperwork. So shuffling it together, Cissnei put it all away and tidied up her desk before turning around to face Reno again.
Walking over to him, She slipped a hand into his and glanced up at him, her eyes happy. She was completely ready to go look at some stars and forget about all the work. “Ready?” Maybe if they stopped in at her living quarters to get the blankets she'd change into something a bit more comfortable. A tie and a suit weren't exactly lounging around and watching the stars kind of clothes, at least not for a girl. Pressing closer to Reno, Cissnei glanced out the window. Yup, the sun had set and the stars were twinkling in the sky. This might be another great night...just as great as 'the night' was. Of course, that had been just about the happiest moment of her life...hard to top that. If only she knew what he was going to ask her... Words: 1223 Muse: awesome!!! Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Okay so yes, this was definitely better than sitting in his office and sulking or anything like that. Reno was okay with things right now, his mind was off of the subject of L’Cie or anything that could make him a little sad, of course, Reno was always an upbeat person, it was never like him to sulk around and be emo or anything, and he was trying his best to keep a good outlook on everything and for the most part he was doing a good job. Keeping the pro’s in his head instead of the cons, it was easy to see the bad in life, but Reno kept a hold of the good things yet to come…even if the options were very limited. Cissnei was the number one thing at the top of his pro’s list. And being in here with her was still much better than anything else he could imagine. Even if they just stayed in here and hugged each other, that would be okay with him. So long as he was with Cissnei, he was happy.
Keeping his arms wrapped around Cissnei, Reno smiled as she looked at him. Hearing what she said about him making her day better, it felt good to hear. Especially after all he had put her through a little while ago. Reno was just glad she understood and still loved him, even when he tried to leave her. She still loved him, and he only loved her more with how accepting she was…of course that could only make him feel like an even bigger jerk for leaving her in the first place, but still, he was glad she didn’t absolutely hate him or start throwing punches when she saw him in Kalm. That would’ve been embarrassing, especially since he taught her some moves, she probably could lay a few good punches in on him now. “Well I’m glad to have made your day better, it makes me feel a bit more useful around here than I have been these past few days.” He grinned down at her with his eyes full of true happiness, no matter how much his brand stung, his thoughts babbled, or anything else, so long as Cissnei was around…none of that brought him down.
“I didn’t have much paperwork to do…but still, I understand where you are coming from…the workload seems to never end since everyone is coming back.” Reno said with a sigh as he was trying to remember all who was coming back to ShinRa, um…practically everyone? Thus the chaos continued trying to get everyone settled and back to work, and with the Reno situation, trying to get things figured out to protect the business from his…focus. But enough about work, Reno wanted to forget that and enjoy the evening, not as a Turk but as a boyfriend with his girlfriend, snuggling under the stars and just enjoying each other’s company. “From this point on, no more work till tomorrow…I think the stress load needs to take a break ya know?”
So maybe the sports show, pizza, and ignoring Cissnei idea wasn’t the most charming, but she sure played out her own take on the scenario and that confirmed Reno was going to go for option one. With a mock horror look on his face, Reno shook his head slightly at the thought of…a dreaded chick flick. “No way! You wouldn’t eat my pizza…you would! And oh no! Not a chick flick, anything but that! How about we just go with the stars thing? Instead of torturing one another with horrible television?” Yes that sounded like a fantastic idea, snuggling, blankets, and all that other romantic stuff, it might score Reno some brownie points with Cissnei if they did something absolutely fantastic…like star gazing. It sounded mushy, but didn’t girls love that mushy stuff? That’s how Reno thought it was. Girls loved the hopeless romantic, but don’t start thinking Reno was gonna run off and write poetry for her or anything, that would be pushing it a little bit.
“Alright, we can grab some blankets on the way up, seeing as your room is more on the way.” Reno said with a shrug as Cissnei then started to tidy up her desk. It really made Reno think how opposite they were. She was more neat, look at her suit, then look at his. He was tall, she was rather short, she was quiet he was quite the chatterbox. They were different in many ways and in some cases it was hard to believe that the two were together, but as they say, opposites attract. As cliché as it sounded, it was pretty true in their case. “Alright sounds good.” He said putting his hands in his pockets and just watching her as she tidied things up before heading to him, taking a hand out of his pocket, it was like he knew what she was going to do, they interlocked hands and he just grinned once again. “As ready as I’ll ever be…” he said with a small chuckle as he started walking with her to the door and opening it with his free hand so she could walk through first.
Stepping outside Cissnei’s office, the halls were dark and everything seemed to be shut down for the night. Perhaps it was a little later than Reno had thought. Sure someone else was probably up working on paperwork and other business things, most likely Rufus or Elena if anyone. Walking down the hall Reno kept his hand locked with Cissnei’s, feeling the warmth from her hand and knowing that she was always there. Now his heart rate accelerated as his mind started to think about what he was going to say. Hopefully he didn’t choke or anything, and hopefully she didn’t laugh at him or anything, to be frank, he was starting to feel as nervous as he was when he wanted to ask her out on a date. That had gone well….wouldn’t this go well too? Or was this all too sudden? All Reno knew was he wasn’t going to chicken out now. “Time to get some blankets…then I did want to talk to you about something important once we get settled on the roof…” this wasn’t going to be classy or anything, but…hopefully lady luck was on Reno’s side.Words: 1182 Muse: Good! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." The past few days he had felt worthless? As she tidied up her desk Cissnei glanced at him and the smile that had appeared since he had come in was still there. Crimson eyes were twinkling. Cissnei's expression was usually portrayed more through her eyes then actual facial expression. It was one of the things that was from being a Turk. Usually she was able to keep her face more or less void of emotion when she was under stress or on a mission, but her eyes were like the gateway to her thoughts and feelings. Right now however, Cissnei's whole face was softened and the hint of a smile was still there. Appraising Reno's more sloppy suit, Cissnei couldn't help but think about how different they really were. Almost in every aspect of their lives, but he made her feel happy and that was all that counted. Besides, if she was with someone like herself they might not talk at all.
Everyone coming back. “I love that so many have come back, I really do. But getting everyone settled back in and starting jobs again is getting pretty hard to do. At this rate we wont have enough missions for everyone.” Not that that was a bad thing. Actually once they got all settled in it would mean less workload for them all. Besides, her family was coming back together. Whereas most of the Turks had real families in the real world, Cissnei had never had anyone BUT the Turks. Thus they meant even more to her then probably anyone else.
Rude and Nunchaku had always been like her brothers, and Reno had been one too, before she realized she felt more for him then just in a sisterly way. Legend had been like a dad to her. Of course, he had been like a dad to a lot of the Turks, especially the ones that had been there a long time. Legend was the person she was missing most now that so many had come back. Before it had been Reno and Rude. But having now been here for so long again, she missed the person who had always been like her dad. For a moment she stopped ruffling the papers around and a faraway look crossed her face. Having never had that family, being an orphan her entire life, Cissnei was fond of all the Turks. With a slight frown she wondered how the rest that were still out in the real world were doing. Legend, Shotgun, Knives, Gun, Katana and Martial arts Male were still left. Out of them all, Cissnei was closest to Legend and Shotgun. Little did she know in a few short weeks they would be joining them as well back in the ranks as Turks.
Shoving those thoughts out of her mind, Cissnei completed putting the papers away and nodded. “Break from work and the stress. That sounds alright to me. President Rufus and Tseng can complain all they want to, I'm not doing anymore tonight.” With a cheerful smile in his direction she couldn't help but laugh at his reaction toward her idea about the chick flick. Raising an eyebrow she put her hands on her hips. “Oh so we can only do things you want to do hmmm?” Of courses, her serious moment was ruined by the fact that she still hadn't stopped smiling at him. Besides, she was only kidding. Though she knew it must be harder for him, he really was trying hard to be sensitive toward her, come up with things she liked to do. Sometime she was going to do something for him that he liked to do. What did guys like to do though?
Maybe she should ask Maiah. Maiah had always been good with being 'one of the guys.' Not that that was a bad thing, actually it was nice because she could go to her for advice if need be. Video games and pizza, she could always do that. Actually Cissnei liked doing that sort of thing, but was that more of a 'hanging with the guys' sort of thing where he would feel weird with her around? This relationship thing was so hard sometimes. Definitely getting help from Maiah. But for now she could just be happy he was actually being sweet, without being girly about it. Reno girly? The thought made her laugh, Reno could never be the overly sensitive guy that was all clingy. And that...was alright with her. Contrary to popular belief women did not want men like that. She very much liked Reno just the way he was, able to be definitely manly and still come up with the idea of looking at the stars. Manly men were definitely the way to go. “Sounds good to me, lets not torture each other.”
Finally she was done with the papers and they could leave. Slipping her hand into his Cissnei walked by his side as they headed toward the door. Smiling up at him, Cissnei realized just how short she was. It hadn't ever really been something she had thought about, but she barely came to Reno's shoulders. She really was a 'small fry.' oh well, there wasn't much she could do about that. Flicking off the light as they went out, Cissnei saw that the hallway was dark and things were quiet and shut down. “Is it really that late? I didn't think it was quite so late.” A sheepish look crossed her face, she was being like Tseng and working late now? Great. Thankfully Reno had rescued her from being in that blasted office for the rest of the night still thinking it was early. “I'm turning into a workaholic apparently. You'd better not let me do that...”
Cissnei didn't notice the fact that Reno was freaking out. Actually he looked completely calm on the outside, his normal self. She had no idea what he was actually planning, nor would she figure it out until the moment of. Actually, if she had to guess what was going to happen big she would never guess. And then they got to where she lived. Cissnei stopped outside her door and suddenly he said that he had something important to talk to her about. “Something important....?” Just what could it be? Looking back she tried to think of what it would be. Maybe an apology for leaving? Talking about his brand? The fact that he was a l'cie? Her eyes dimmed a bit, but whatever it was she was going to support him and listen. Maybe he didn't know how to say it. So she wouldn't pry or force him to tell her. Cissnei knew from experience that Reno would talk when he wanted to and not a moment sooner. She loved him for it.
Pushing open her door Cissnei let go of his hand and walked inside. “I'm going to change into something a little bit more comfortable if thats alright. I'll just be a second.” Going to her closet, Cissnei chose some comfortable clothes and wandered back her bathroom. Smiling at him, she closed the door and emerged a minute later dressed in the new clothes. Back to the closet. Kneeling down Cissnei brushed the hair back and tucked it behind her ear before she rooted through. She came out with a pile of blankets about the same size as she was. "I think I have enough." Of course, the blankets were basically hiding her as she made her way toward him. Walking toward where he was, Cissnei tried to see over the mound and succeeded in stumbling over something. “ahhhh” Was all she said as she tried catching herself from falling flat on her face. Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Okay so maybe worthless wasn’t exactly the right word to use, but then again, it pretty much summed up all he was feeling, at least when it came to being work related. With everyone jumping back to being a Turk there was less to do, and with his absence, that certainly gave him less to do as well, not that he complained, but sitting around at a desk all day…was not his favorite thing to do, nor anyone else’s as he imagined, maybe Tseng or Rufus’ preference, but certainly not a guy like Reno. Soon the work load would pick up sure, but once the returning Turks got settled, well then it would be a light load once again, which gave Reno a thought, his idea for later on, less work load meant more free time, that he could definitely handle. He’d wanted to take a vacation for a long time now, it seemed with the many years he had worked for ShinRa he never really took a realvacation. But what? Costa De Sol? That was a relaxing place…or spend the day lounging about and sleeping, either way he’d be happy.
Reno was quite happy with some of the returns, although Rod wasn’t his most favorite person around, it would be nice to pull a few pranks on the guy and irritate the hell out of him, that would surely keep Reno occupied. And more rumors of Maiah, Anavel, and Ethan returning, he still had to catch up with those Turks and make a greeting towards them. In fact, Reno was really happy with all this, it was like a family forming again, growing and being better than ever. Now if Legend and the rest of the old Turks would return as well, then Reno would probably feel like he actually had a family, a complete family. And thus, the shenanigans with Ethan, hell even Rod, would start commencing around the ShinRa building. That gave Reno yet another thing to look forward to. “Yeah I’m pretty happy too, and I agree with what you’re sayin’, there may just be a time where you get to sit aroun’ the building and chillax for awhile eh? Sounds pretty good to me.” Reno said with a wide grin as he spoke his opinion about lack of missions.
While watching Cissnei continue to tidy up, Reno just let his mind wander as his eyes glazed over a bit, staring at Cissnei with a content look of happiness on his face. If things all went according to plan…then he’d sure have the motivation to fight back against this focus. He didn’t want to become a Cie’th or destroy anything, he was going to find some way around it, no matter what. If it meant he had a future, if all went well here in the next hour or so, maybe even less, then he would have the will to fight, the motivation he needed to stay strong and continue on with his life, no emoing, no sulking that was for damn sure. He was going to make it, besides, this was Reno Sinclair we’re talking about, sure a visual lazy, cocky procrastinator…but when it really came down to it, he was a one tough guy, hard to shake, and determined to get any job done. He would take this focus on full force.
“I don’t think they’ll mind, It seems that you’ve been in your office all day working on this. We may be Turks but we can’t go days without sleep like SOLDIER can…or so I’ve heard. They’ll understand.” Reno said as she had finished tidying up and made cracks about his second scenario of a date. Chick flicks was probably crossing the line with him. There was no way you’d catch Reno sitting on a couch with a box of tissues and a box of chocolates crying while watching a chick flick…that would just never happen. He loved Cissnei yes, but if she ever asked him to watch a movie like that with her, he’d be running in the other direction, fleeing to play some video games or get a beer…not sob over which man was hotter in some movie. He may be willing to go out on a limb, star gaze, go out to dinner, all that kinda mushy stuff, but he was still a guy! Gotta keep a reputation around here right?
Finally agreeing not to torture each other with girly or manly dates, that sure was swell. Reno grinned and nodded at Cissnei gripping her hand lightly, but not too loosely, he was glad to be back at ShinRa, those few days without someone to look forward to seeing, to hold hands with, it just wasn’t that fun being alone really. Especially when you were sulking and trying to figure out your life in a tiny stretch of time, it just wasn’t easy. “I lost track of the clock earlier.” He said with a shrug as they walked down the hall, hand in hand in the slight darkness towards Cissnei’s living quarters. “Everyone’s got their late night eh? I don’t think you’re turnin’ into a workaholic…and if you do…I’ll just have to save you then won’t I? Like the heroic boyfriend I should be.” He said using his free hand to rub the back of his head with a slight chuckle escaping his lips after he spoke. “And the ego continues to grow.” Oh that ego of his was going to explode one day with how huge it was! Reno + Ego = completely…normal.
Reno was sure that he had sparked Cissnei’s interest when he said that he needed to talk to her about something important. Which was completely true, but he just didn’t know how to word things exactly at this point in time, but he was sure that if he thought about it for a little bit longer, and when the moment was right, the words would just come naturally. Hopefully not making him look like a babbling fool like he had when he was in the gym asking Cissnei out on a simple date, now that right there was an embarrassing moment, of course, he was lucky and she said yes and didn’t laugh! A win for him. In fact, tons of good things (aside from being a L’Cie) had been happening with their relationship, it was almost as if they were…meant to be.
“Yep it’s important…but it’s all gonna have to wait till we get up to the rooftop.” Reno said with a smug grin on his face as they got to Cissnei’s door. Feeling her hand leave his own, Reno placed his hands in his pockets as she went inside, stating she was going to change real quick and he simply nodded at her statement. His words, his nerves, and all that other stuff could wait. He wanted Cissnei to be as comfortable as possible. “Take your time.” He said as she wandered off to change and grab blankets. Standing where he was Reno let his eyes wander as the words started floating back into his mind all jumbled up and seemingly useless. What was he going to say?! This was something you needed to plan out! Hell he was going to ask the girl to MARRY HIM, he had to say it in a classy fashion! He had to do something creative! But what was so special about stargazing?
With a heavy sigh Reno dug his hand deeper in his pocket and felt a small box, he gripped his hand around it and closed his eyes. Thinking back on when he got this ring. He was browsing around Kalm before he hit the bar for another lazy night of drowning his thoughts in alcohol, but something caught his eye in the window of a tiny jewelry shop. He had stopped in and bought a beautiful diamond ring, something that was one a kind. In Kalm they didn’t mass produce products, so this was genuine diamond, one of a kind, and the perfect one for Cissnei, that is when the time came around that he wanted to ask her to marry him. He carried it around with him for days now, and any time he clasped his hand around it, wondering when that right moment would be…thankfully he had bought it and kept it with him at all times…hopefully she would like it, but then again, she liked the last one he got her, perhaps this one was a win as well.
As Cissnei then made her way back to Reno with blankets practically covering over her, Reno couldn’t help but chuckle. She was so tiny, this was quite amusing, and when she stumbled forward, Reno bolted. He was there to catch her, and some of the blankets before she hit the ground. Leaning down holding her, Reno helped set her upright back on her feet, collecting blankets in his arms now. “How bout I carry all these? I wouldn’t want ya to fall or anything…” he said having the blankets all collected in his arms as he started out the door, turning and waiting for Cissnei before they would ascend for the rooftop. Once actually on the rooftop, Reno walked and set the blankets down in a pile before pulling one out and laying it down across the rooftop so they could sit on it and not the cold concrete. He then walked over and grabbed another blanket and wrapped it around Cissnei’s shoulders. “Warm enough? Or are you still cold?” He said making his way over to the last blanket and holding it up as he looked at Cissnei, his nerves flaring up once more.Words: 1760 Muse: OMG THE BEST EVER! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei hadn't heard the word chillax in forever. It reminded her of when they were all younger. Reno had said it quite a bit back then. She had been how old? Well, it had been so long ago that they had been really young anyway. Looking back Cissnei could remember being in ShinRa for longer then most of the Turks. Cissnei had been recruited when she was merely a little girl. Little had she known when she had seen the older man that day at the orphanage her future had been sealed as a Turk. She had everything needed to be a Turk, the talent, the drive, and she didn't have a family. Less ties meant more dedication to the job. Not that she regretted becoming a Turk, or having been recruited. Like it or not, it was her life now, probably always would be.
Her time away had been...meaningless? That seemed a bit dramatic, but really, it hadn't been anything at all that she continued to think about. It was almost as if the years she had been away hadn't existed. Of course they had, but in her mind, there was nothing good enough to remember, let alone enjoy the memory of. Yet her hears before that, as a Turk, she remembered everything that had happened. Every memory was locked away clear as day. It was what had made her come back. Being sick and tired of the 'real life', being 'normal' going absolutely nowhere in life, having nothing she cared about. It hadn't been fun, the memories of the days as a Turk had been almost haunting. The only time she had been really happy was when she was with her fellow Turks. Of course she knew of the bad things ShinRa did. When you were one of the elite Turks you knew basically everything, but it was home. She couldn't turn her back on the only home she knew, the only home she had ever known.
The Turks coming back was good to her in more ways then only one. First off, seeing her family again...well it was a good thing. She had missed them all like crazy, on her worst days driving close to the ShinRa building and just staring at it, wondering if they missed her, or if they were okay. Yet something had held her back from rejoining until just recently. Guilt from that final mission? The fear of no knowing if anyone knew about her not capturing them? It might have been a mixture, but of course though she had always been pulled to come back, she never had. Almost like she just couldn't bring herself to do it. Yet here she was, wearing the Turk suit once again. There really was no other place she could ever be. What else was there? Second off, having everyone back meant less running around for them all. Lately the missions had been coming in one right after another. It would be good to be able to relax a bit more and not get smothered under the missions.
Cissnei wondered about Reno's focus too. Part of her wanted to know everything about what he was supposed to do. The other part of her didn't want to know. That night when he had been trying to tell her Cissnei hadn't wanted to listen, hadn't wanted to know. If she didn't know it wouldn't have to become reality. To bad things didn't work out that way. It had been something she had always tried as a young child. To just close her eyes and try to block out the bad things someone was trying to tell her. If she didn't listen, she wouldn't have to face it. That hadn't worked out to well for her. But that was all behind her. Yet she was torn. Ask him and find out? Or let it be and try to live life without thinking Reno might be taken away from her.
When Reno put it like that skipping out of the rest of her work sounded easy. With a smile she stuffed it all away and nodded, “If they don't understand...well theres nothing they can do about it. Besides, I can have it on their desks bright and early tomorrow morning.” With a determining nod, Cissnei imagined the scenario in her mind and tried not to snicker. Curling up with Reno on a couch and hugging him as he cried over a chick flick just somehow seemed utterly wrong. The curling up part didn't sound bad, but imagining him with the tears rolling down because of a scene went against everything she had ever thought about Reno. Definitely not one of those types, which was fine, because she didn't think any of the Turk girls would want a man to be like that.
As they walked down the hallway Cissnei almost felt like humming or skipping. That made her almost stop in mid-stride, yet she continued on. Cissnei never had the urge to skip, not ever, even as a little girl. She had always been the somber one that could stare right through you with her earnest, somewhat sad gaze. Just the fact that she had the urge to hum or skip meant she was happy, happier then she had been in...well a long time. The last time she had wanted to hum or skip had been the day he had asked her to be his girlfriend. Obviously Reno made her feel happy. Thinking of him going away ever again would kill her slowly.
Holding his hand, Cissnei felt the warmth there and sighed happily, holding onto his hand without being all wringing it out. She couldn't help but laugh lightly at how he put rescuing her, 'heroic boyfriend?' It was true, however that didn't stop her from thinking about his ego. And then he mentioned it. Of course they were talking about the ego again. Yet Cissnei turned her somewhat adoring eyes up at him and squeezed his hand lightly. With his ego there was a lot of him to love. “Your ego is going to take a bruising one day Reno. One day...”
She didn't want to wait. But then again, she wouldn't be able to force it out of him, so why bother trying? So instead of taking her time she rushed to get everything they needed. The sooner they got to the rooftop the sooner she would be able to hear what was so important. It was killing her, wanting to know. But she was patient and didn't let it show, instead being the calm, collected Cissnei that everyone knew. When she found enough blankets and walked back toward him she was hurrying along. Enough blankets? Probably, but it was chilly outside, better be prepared. So she made her way over and tripped Cissnei felt sure she was going to face plant. At least she had blankets to protect her on the way down.
Then she was caught and helped back into a standing position. Whew, she had really dodged a fall there. Looking up at him, Cissnei gave him another sheepish smile, “Thanks. I guess you should carry them or else I might just kill myself.” As they made their way to the rooftop Cissnei remembered the last night she had went up here. That hadn't been a good time at all. Everything...stop thinking about it. Really a lot of good and bad had happened here. Like the time Reno had drug her out to watch the sunrise, and of course there was the time he had left. That horrible time had been on the rooftop. Getting there finally, she followed him to where he deposited the blankets. Lifting her face, Cissnei looked up at the stars and shivered before wrapping her arms around herself. Though it was warming up, the winter chill was still here.
A blanket was wrapped around her shoulders and Cissnei turned her head around and looked up at him. The lights of the surrounding building illuminated his face. A smile and a nod, "Thanks." Glancing from him to the blanket he had put down, Cissnei blushed a bit before heading over to where he was. “Maybe we could share. I mean...it'd be warmer.” That blush was still there, hopefully hidden by the dark. Instead of saying anything else Cissnei dropped down so she was sitting on the blanket he had set down. With another little shiver she drew the blanket closer around her and gazed up at the stars. They were twinkling all around her, almost beckoning for her to join them. If she could fly, she would fly up and do just that. "When I was a little girl I used to want wings so badly. Just to be able to fly, to have that freedom..." Words: 1602 Muse: freaking awesome! Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Without any paperwork or missions to think about, Reno had quite a bit of time for plotting on his hands. Oh the many scenarios he had cooked up in his head for this moment, but none seemed to jump out at him as ‘that perfect moment’, not yet at least, he was still waiting for that feeling in his gut to tell him to ‘ask her, ask her now!’, but it still hadn’t shown up yet. He was trying his hardest to set up a romantic atmosphere, and as girly and sensitive as it may sound, he thought that star gazing was the perfect way to do it. Under the bright stars, snuggling together, it was cute right? Hopefully Cissnei thought so and ended up saying yes. That’s all Reno could hope for, was the answer yes.
For someone who did spend a lot of time plotting (mostly jokes and pranks) he sure wasn’t coming up with a lot to say here, of course ne never really sat around plotting the next romantic thing he was going to say, most of that just flew out of his mouth whenever he was around Cissnei, like he hadn’t even thought of it before he spoke, it just came to him. Hopefully, that would occur tonight, he didn’t want to sound awkward or anything, or TOO romantic and obvious, he wanted this to be a night to remember, something she would cherish for the rest of her life…and maybe get a tear or two out of her, though that wasn’t necessary in his book, just a simple smile and a yes would do him good. It’s all you could hope for when you were putting everything on the line right here, right now. This would either destroy their relationship if she said no…or it would blossom into something greater…if she said yes. Reno was willing to risk it all…for this one in a million chance to call her his for the rest of his life.
Waving his hand around, thinking about the work load Tseng and Rufus had been assigning, Reno made a face. “Nah, they’ll be cool with it I’m sure. If not, I can totally talk to them, I am second in command remember.” He said with a smug confident smile as he winked at Cissnei then, trying to pull all the charm he could on right now. The smiles, winks everything, it would soften Cissnei up even more and then his moment would come! His moment to shine and present her with a one of a kind ring. It weighed a lot in his pocket now as the thoughts were burning into his skull, still worrying about what to say, how to present it. Just hand it to her? Get on one knee? Um…babble? No no no, not babble, anything but that…but sure enough it was bound to happen right? Knowing Reno he wouldn’t even realize he was babbling in the first place!
Down the hallway they went, all smiles and holding hands, that was great. Almost a routine thing, walking around hands interlocked with each other and huge smiles on their faces. It was a true sign of love, never getting sick of the one you were with…well yet. Sure there was bound to be some disagreements and some heartache in the future, but once marriage hit…it was a done deal for Reno. No how much you snuggled, yelled, cried, you were partners for life…literally, and that’s exactly what he wanted from Cissnei, for her to be his wife forever, to be his. “My ego will never get bruised! It’s too huge to be effected I think…” he said pondering the thought…what if tonight was the night his ego really did get bruised?! What if she declined his proposal? That would totally ruin him, he’d be crushed and probably really go into a depressive state. What a horrible way to look at things right now, so Reno shook the thought from his head and continued to think of happy thoughts, of what could be the future with Cissnei.
At Cissnei’s room, Reno was thinking hard now, and when she emerged with a stack of blankets bigger than she was, well he chuckled before catching her and helping her back to her feet. He didn’t want her to trip and fall so he carried the blankets from now on, he was tall enough to see over them all and not risk falling, though now it was probably jinxed and he might as well fall up the stairs or something silly like that. “Good idea, besides, I’m the man, aren’t I supposed to like…carry everythin’?” He said with a chuckle and a grin flashing its way at Cissnei as he carried the blankets up to the chilly rooftop, his nerves starting to work up again as he had blankets set out and one wrapped around Cissnei, it wasn’t too cold out here, but chilly enough for snuggling. That he was looking forward to.
It seemed they were thinking the same thing, snuggling! Reno’s face lit up with a huge grin as she said they should share because it’d be warmer, which it was true, but such a good way to say ‘hey let’s snuggle’. Grabbing the last blanket Reno followed Cissnei over to the one that was laid down for them to sit on. Her blush was there and he noticed it slightly due to the lights from outside the building, but yet it was still dark, so a blush wasn’t THAT detectable, but it made his smile and feel all good inside, he could still make her blush and giggle and all that other stuff, it made him feel as if he was going strong tonight. He had to be optimistic now! He was going to propose to her any minute! Once the time was right, when he felt sick like he was going to throw up or something…that was the moment. When his nerves got the best of him.
Sitting down next to Cissnei and Wrapping the extra blanket around them both, he pulled her close to him as they were under the warm blankets. Looking up at the stars he sighed a little as she spoke of having wings. It was a nice dream to have…but Reno never knew what it felt like to dream that hard. He simply smiled down at Cissnei for a brief moment before looking up at the stars as silence was in the chilly air. “It sure is beautiful.” He said softly as something raced across the sky, it was as if fate had been calling him to stargaze, this was the perfect moment. Rising to his feet and dragging Cissnei up with him, Reno pointed out the star shooting across the sky. “Lookie there Ciss, a shooting star…” he whispered as if it were almost rude to talk loud at a quiet romantic moment like this…this moment was about to get even better, Reno had that feeling in his gut…it was time to act.Words: 1291 Muse: GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Sometimes Cissnei forgot that he was actually second in command, especially when he was in a pranking mood. Yet when he got into action and was on a mission it was easy to see why he held that position. As the Turks number one fastest, he could run in rod sparking and have them taken out in a matter of seconds. Cissnei had always been impressed by Reno's abilities as a Turk, making her train harder then she did to begin with. Of course Reno had joined when she had been in ShinRa training but not a Turk. From afar Cissnei had somewhat idolized the Turks, wishing to be one sooner, but she had had to deal with the ridged training first. After completing the training she had been put in the ranks as a Turk immediately, and even after so many years of being out of the game, the missions and everything was easy to adjust to once again.
If Cissnei had known what Reno was plotting her mind might be elsewhere. Perhaps shocked, wide eyed staring at him, deep in thought about the future, but instead she was happily walking hand in hand and thinking it was nice to have an easy relationship with him. Everything was easy when she was around Reno. Easy to smile, easy to laugh, to be happy, for her eyes to sparkle. Something that hadn't exactly been an everyday experience for her. Easy to talk, easy to feel like her heart was going to explode, even easy to think about something other then the next mission. The problem was that Cissnei had been scared, and still was a little bit, that having a boyfriend would change the way she felt about the Turks. Would she start hating the missions, the crazy schedule, the work? So far no. But she was still scared that somehow, some way, being so emotionally attached would somehow come back to haunt her.
Cissnei had always had problems with relationships. Not that she had commitment issues, just a fear that wouldn't go away. Knowing that they might be taken away from you at any point brought her into a more somber mood. Would she ever have to face the decision either her job or Reno? If she was, Cissnei knew what she would choose. It wasn't really a hard decision, but if she had to compromise a mission and have all the rest of the Turks in danger...how would she respond? Unconsciously her hand had tightened around Reno's as she thought about everything. It scared her to no end, and so she had to look up at him and take in his features, almost making sure he was really there walking beside her. A little sigh of relief escaped her lips and she almost leaned her head against his shoulder as they walked. Trying to shake those thoughts out of her head were easier said then done...but tonight was happy! She didn't want to think of anything bad...
“One day Reno...one day...” She repeated that as he told her that his ego was to big to be affected. “I promise I wont be the one doing the bruising though....at least not intentionally.” With a devilish little look, she reached back and tugged on his pony tail lightly. “Unless of course I'm getting you back for calling me small fry.” She had to grin at that, she would probably never be able to prank the master of pranks, but she was going to try. It was just when and where that she had to figure out. But one thing was for certain...she WOULD get back at him for the short comments. He might be her boyfriend, and she did love him, but no one got away with calling her a small fry.
Grabbing the blankets, they were on their way to the rooftop in a matter of minutes. At least after her little mishap. Cissnei didn't get embarrassed about it like Elena would. That grin that he kept flashing her. It made her go weak in the knees. Chiding herself for being a silly schoolgirl when she was around him, Cissnei wrapped the blanket around her more and walked over to where Reno was fixing up the blankets. One thing that did embarrass her. Snuggling. But just because the blush that rose on her face burned didn't mean she was going to simply not. Besides, under the premise of being cold! Although Reno would probably see right through that ruse. Cissnei didn't mind though, he was her boyfriend, if she wanted to snuggle him she could.
Cissnei sat down next to him and as he hugged her close and she snuggled up close to him. Resting her head on his chest, Cissnei watched the sky in awe. Reno and the blankets was keeping her content and even warm, and so she snuggled up closer and smiled. With her hands on his arms and her head on his chest, Cissnei decided she enjoyed snuggling. The faint blush had left as she got used to the feel of his arms around her. Becoming almost entrapped with the stars, Cissnei pointed to a constellation. “Look! Orion.” What Cissnei loved about the stars was the fact that they never left. Every winter Orion came and every spring he left, yet the stars continued twinkling. Something that remained the same. This had been the best idea ever.
Nodding her head softly, Cissnei agreed, “So beautiful...” She muttered as she watched the beauty surrounding her. Suddenly her eyes caught what Reno was pointing out. With a gasp a huge smile broke out over her face and she was drug to her feet to look at it. “Reno! Make a wish!” She burst out before squeezing her eyes shut. As a child in the orphanage Cissnei had wished on every shooting star that she had seen. Of course it had never come true, but it had kept her going and made it so she wasn't so upset about her situation. Now with her eyes squeezed shut and Reno's arms around her, she made her wish. Her wish? Please let Reno always be here with me, no matter what happens, let him be by my side forever. Opening her eyes to see the star gone, she couldn't hardly breathe as she stood and stared after where the star had streaked. Turning her gaze and lifting her head, Cissnei looked up at the man she adored in every way. That was her wish...the one thing she really wanted. Reno... Words: 1208 Muse: AWESOME! Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Walking in the halls, hand in hand, it didn’t make Reno second guess anything at all. He had been lucky enough to have Cissnei as his girlfriend, now what doubts did he have that she wouldn’t want to be his wife? Perhaps it was the fact that he was probably moving too quickly with their relationship, but then again, how much time did he have really? There was no time to waste for things like this, at least not when you were a ticking time bomb ready to turn into a monster at any given moment once your brand was completely progressed. Speaking of which, it might be a good idea to research on that, how the whole thing went progression wise, then maybe he can pin point how much time he had before it was time to figure out what he was going to do…all on a last minute decision of course, that is if he didn’t find that loophole.
As they continued to hold hands, Reno felt Cissnei’s grip tighten a bit. He looked down and over at her as he wondered what exactly she could’ve been thinking about. Was something starting to trouble her? He hoped not, nothing was going to ruin this moment for him…or soon to be moment. He was going to pop the question and she was going to hear him say it loud and clear. No telling what he would do if she said yes, a heal kick maybe? A dance? Or just grin? Maybe hoot and holler like a crazy person out of happiness. All those thoughts were pleasing to him, and he never once thought of her saying no. Though there always was that slim possibility. All and all, Reno was pretty confident in himself right now. A ‘hopeless romantic’ as Cissnei had called him once, this should be a piece of cake right? Star gazing plus pretty rings made a girl happy…at least that’s what he thought.
Feeling a wave of immaturity rush over him, Reno simply chuckled a bit before sticking his tongue out at Cissnei in a childish way as she continued to say that one day his ego would be bruised. “Well I still think my ego’s too big to be damaged…” though there always was some way to crush Reno and his ego all in a matter of seconds. And finally, that thought hit him like a punch to the face. What if he wasn’t as lucky and charming as he thought he was? What if Cissnei rejected his proposal and that completely ruined their relationship? Oh boy, now he was feeling anxious and nervous all at once. His stomach started to hurt and fill with butterflies, almost making him feel sick. Perhaps he was going to chicken out after all and just play this off as a romantic evening to star gaze? Yeah that was probably wise…but then again, if he didn’t take this risk, he may never get another chance to. So many thoughts and decisions kept his ability to make choices clouded, almost like he didn’t want to decide anything right now. To make sure everything stayed the same and everyone was happy…why ruin a good thing like happiness? But this was a risk he had to take.
Once outside and in the cold (not that it really effected Reno with all this swirl of emotions he had), Reno had blankets out and wrapped around Cissnei and on the ground. Snuggling with her wasn’t a big concern, she had brought it up. And besides they were a couple, there was nothing wrong with that. Not to mention it was cold outside! So any type of warmth was probably a good thing, no need to get sick, so yes, snuggling was a definite must right now. As he sat there, keeping his arms wrapped around Cissnei as she rested against him, Reno couldn’t help but keep the smile on his face. Nothing could ruin how happy and anxious he was feeling right now. That feeling in his gut hadn’t hit him yet, perhaps tonight just wasn’t the night? But…Reno knew somewhere deep in his heart and mind that tonight was going to be the night he asked her to marry him, no ands, ifs, or buts about it. It was totally happening!
The stars were really pretty and plentiful. Not a cloud in the sky, which made it all even better, as if fate had brought them here for this absolutely perfect evening. Even the chilly temperature was contributing to this evening. Snuggling and stars was the perfect combo, much better than that silly idea of sitting around with pizza watching a sports game on tv. This totally PWNED that idea into the dust. As the stars continued to sparkle, Reno continued to smile as Cissnei then pointed out Orion. His eyes glanced up at three big bright stars that symbolized Orion’s belt. With a small nod, Reno hugged Cissnei close to him a little tighter. “Yep! I see his belt…” and then he started looking for any more of the constellations before seeing that shooting star race across the star…and that feeling hit him in the gut right then and there as he stood up, bringing Cissnei up with him.
“Make a wish? Okay.” Reno said with a grin as he looked at Cissnei, and her eyes were closed. This was it, the moment he had been nervously waiting for. Digging that tiny box out of his pocket, Reno took in a quiet yet deep heavy breath. Reno had never made a wish on a shooting star, but he paused for a moment as silence was around them both, Cissnei’s eyes still closed, and Reno made a wish of his own. Let her say yes…oh please let her say yes. That is all I ask of…a simple yes, to make me a happy man once again. Glancing at Cissnei then as she opened her eyes, he felt that box weigh tons in his hand. He grinned down at her, another dazzling smile just for her as he felt his heart accelerate as he started to feel numb, all these feelings and emotions he had right now, finally backed off as the words came to his mind. “I made a wish…like you said…now I know it’s sort of against the rules to tell your wish…but I don’t think this one counts.”
As he stood there in the cold staring at Cissnei, his smile still danced across his face as he had one arm around her shoulders and one hand still gripping that box tightly. “My wish…” He said glancing away at the sky for a moment before chuckling to himself and smiling back at Cissnei, looking into her eyes. “There are countless things I could wish for…but I think I’ve narrowed it down to one thing…the thing I want most in life.” He said as he removed his arm from around her shoulders and dropping down to one knee, pulling the box out and holding it with two hands as he flipped it open, revealing a ring just as sparkly as those stars in the sky. “Now, I know you may think I’m rushing things, but I’m not sure how long I have before this focus goes into play…what I’m trying to say Cissnei is….will you do me the honor...of marrying me?” There he had said it, and for that moment after he stopped speaking, every muscle in his body froze, he didn’t breathe, he just waited, feeling numb still as he stared up at her, clutching that box tightly as he felt his nerves slowly wash away at the moment he had finally asked her to marry him.Words: 1405 Muse: NEVER TYPED THIS FAST! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei snuggled down against Reno and thought about everything that had led up to this point in her life. True she hadn't ever pictured her life to end up like this, with a boyfriend, with Reno Sinclair...happy. The life of a Turk, wasn't exactly sugar and rainbows. And yet they still did it. Why? Sometimes Cissnei wondered that, why be a Turk? Every day you had to face dangerous situations where your life was put in jeopardy. You had to go behind the scenes and you had blood on your hands. Did dirty things, hurt innocent people at times, ruined their lives even. So what was the pull? It didn't seem like it would all be worth it. And yet, content in Reno's arms, somehow it seemed to make sense why someone would want to be a Turk.
The first day she had been back Cissnei had had some serious doubts. Had she made the right decision coming back? Was it worth it? Should she have stayed in the real world and suffered through it? Would she even like being back? Would she regret it? Yet somehow those thoughts had all vanished when Reno had asked her on that date. This was where she was meant to be. This was where she was meant to be forever. This was where she would stay. Right here with Reno. Yet something was bugging her. If Reno was a l'cie...how much time did he have before something bad happened? He hadn't explained it all to her. Maybe later she would ask, but not tonight. Tonight she would be content to just have his arms around her and snuggle under the blankets.
She didn't think anything could ruin the moment. Snuggling up against him Cissnei felt warmer and safer then she had in a long time. For a moment it was just them, snuggling, warm blankets and stars twinkling above them. What more could she ever want? Closing her eyes for a moment, she found his hand once again and intertwined their fingers. If only a moment like this would last forever, go on forever. Of course it wouldn't, but that didn't stop her from dreaming. Cissnei was weird in that aspect. No matter what, her mind reverted back to thinking she was dreaming or wishing she was. Just one thing she had retained from her life growing up as an orphan. She had a lot of childish notions, like wishing on a star.
They got quiet for a few moments and Cissnei couldn't keep the smile off her face. It was rare that they ever had silence. The nice thing was, usually silence was awkward and you had to search for something to say, but when there was silence with Reno it was...comfortable. No pressure to come up with anything to say, no need to actually say anything. They could just be comfortable being with each other happy, smiling and not saying much of anything. There didn't need to be conversation at all times. Cissnei herself wasn't the biggest talker out there, but that didn't mean she was like Rude where it almost hurt to say things or carry on a conversation.
With searching crimson eyes Cissnei looked for more constellations. Having found Orion was easy, especially since it was her favorite constellation. But eyes searched for more as she was hugged tighter against Reno. Turning her head again, she smiled up at him. “Thank you for bringing me up here Reno...its so beautiful.” She almost told him she loved him when suddenly she was being pulled to her feet and he told her about the shooting star. Squeezing her eye shut, Cissnei wished her wish and then pulled them back open to turn and look at Reno with sparkling eyes. If only this could be every night. As long as she was here with Reno now though, it made everything better. Cissnei almost told him what her wish was, but she figured she wouldn't jinx it and tell him. You weren't supposed to tell anyone.
Some part of her in her childish way felt like telling him that he couldn't tell her his wish when something about him captivated her. Was it the smile? Or the fact that he looked so handsome? Or maybe that he was looking at her in that way again? Whatever it was, Cissnei suddenly held her breathe and could do nothing but watch him. Something...Cissnei was pretty good with knowing when things were about to happen, but nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen next. Never...not in a hundred years would she have guessed the next thing he was going to ask. One thing...that he wanted most in life? If he really wanted to get rid of his brand, they would find a way! They would make it so he wasn't a l-...
All thought ground to a screeching halt as he suddenly knelt to one knee. Eyes opened wide, “R...Re...Reno? What are yo-” Stuttering out his name, she got almost nowhere before he had pulled out a ring. The lighting from the roof made it just light enough that she could see expressions and what he was holding. Mouth dropped open and she just stared. All coherent thought flew out of her mind as she blankly stared at what he was holding in his hand. It...was...could...a ring?! Never. For a moment she thought it might be another promise ring, but no. For a long time she simply stood there and stared. All she got was scattered pieces of what he said, until he said the last few words. Do him the honor of...marrying him? Cissnei stood stock still, the blanket having fallen off of her, but even the chilly night air didn't help shake her out of the stupor she was in.
Knees were locked in place as she stood staring down at the ring that he held in his hands. Lips moved once, almost like she was going to say something, but no words came out. Some point in that moment Cissnei had clasped her hands together over her chest and now her nails bit into her hands. She remained motionless, blankly staring, not thinking anything. Just...looking. Eyes lifted slowly from the ring box he held in his hands to looking into his eyes. Closing her mouth finally, Cissnei clasped and unclasped her hands and stared into his eyes. Her mind and heart were screaming yes, but she hadn't gotten over the shock to do anything but stare. And then she noticed the cold air around her, actually it hit her like a slap in the face, which was a good thing considering it spurred her into action.
“Reno...” She finally gasped out, but all she could say was his name repeated. A few tears gathered in her eyes as it really sunk in. Reno Sinclair wanted to marry HER. Biting her lip, Cissnei started nodding up and down fast, hair bouncing from her enthusiasm. “Yes!! Yes I will!!” She suddenly burst out before launching herself into his arms. Wrapping her arms around his neck Cissnei kissed him, overjoyed that he had asked her. She felt like running around screaming, or possibly yelling, or squealing. Oh how this night just kept getting better and better. Had she ever been happier then she was at that moment? Words: 1351 Muse: awesomeee!! Tagged: RENO! Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early It wasn’t all that cold outside anymore, now that they were under the blankets and snuggling together. In fact, this was much better than that stupid idea of TV and pizza…what boyfriend wouldn’t want to sit around and snuggle with the girl you loved? Whoever didn’t love that idea, was a crazy man, and Reno was very happy to have this time with her right now. Much better than being out in the middle of nowhere, or Kalm to be exact. It didn’t even feel like there was any pressure to worry about, except for the whole proposal thing, but any normal human went through that when wanting to take a huge leap like that. That was the only thing that was bothering Reno right now, the feeling of sickness in his stomach that kept going on, it kept telling him to pop the question right then and there, but he waited a few more minutes, until that perfect moment hit.
With a heavy relaxing sigh, Reno just kept his arms around Cissnei as his eyes flickered between various stars in the sky. This was truly the perfect moment, stars shining, snuggling under blankets, it was…very well planned, and Reno only had a few minutes to actually plan it! What good quick thoughts he had these days. Sitting out here was nice, so long as no one came out and interrupted them, if anyone, Rod would be the worst, especially since Reno was going to pop the question, and anyone, especially Rod would just end up messing things up! And then Reno would never get to ask for Cissnei’s hand. Keeping the silence going as he continued to look at stars, Reno felt Cissnei snuggle against him and he smiled to himself looking down at her for a few moments every now and then as he hugged her close.
Searching the skies for constellations now, Reno smiled at her comment, about it being beautiful and her thanks for him bringing her up here. Of course! Anything to get out of the office, and anything to set up for probably the happiest moment of his life…until he actually got married to his dream girl, and despite Cissnei’s description of her dream guy from before…Reno had a pretty clear picture of what he wanted…and he was sitting right here with her. “You’re welcome Cissnei.” He said softly before his eyes caught sight of that beautiful shooting star, the one that told him this was his time to shine…to ask for her hand, and take advantage of this moment to make it the best possible. Pulling Cissnei up to her feet and her making that wish with her eyes closed, just made it even better. He could pull out the ring easily without her noticing…and just get ready to pour his heart out to her.
Reno did indeed make a wish on that shooting star, and he prayed to god that It would come true. If he was going to spill his emotional guts out to Cissnei right here right now…he wanted it to be worth it for the rest of his life…and that’s all he was asking for…a lifetime with her. As Reno had gotten down on one knee, taken out the box and opened it up, Cissnei seemed to sputter out a few words before Reno finally said his piece, about wanting to marry her and what not. It all seemed to flow out nicely the way Reno said it…at least he thought it did, hopefully it was just enough to convince her to take a risk, and say yes. That was the only thing he would ever ask for for the rest of his life! Just a yes, and he’d be happy enough for an eternity. Her blank stare was sort of concerning as the blanket fell off Cissnei’s shoulders. Reno almost wanted to frown some, but he was too dang happy to even think about letting his smile soften by even a fraction.
With the silence creeping around still, it seemed every single possible thing that could either go wrong, or right, flashed through Reno’s mind. She could say yes! They would get married and maybe start a family? She could say no, shatter Reno and then their relationship would be ruined forever. What two very different outcomes…hopefully not the latter of the two. Reno coughed before pulling one hand back to the collar of his jacket and shirt, not that they were tight or anything seeing as his attire was still a bit messy, but he pulled at his collar as if it were hugging a little too close to his neck, it was the nerves talking right there. He was starting to lose his momentum of being so confident. What if…he was too cocky? Over thought it too much? Didn’t think enough?! What if this was the point where things didn’t go great, where everything crashed down hill and left Reno and even more broken man than before? Lovely thoughts Reno, very lovely.
In a matter of half a second, Reno’s worried, and everything else in his mind flew right out of his head as Cissnei then sprung into action, really quickly and it took Reno by surprise actually. A quiet girl like her? Even around him he didn’t expect such a response! The nodding of her head sort of made him blink for a second but when she launched herself into his arms and kissed him, well, that threw him off balance for a second and he reached an arm back to keep himself from falling over from another one of her leap hugs…again. When she was all huggy huggy, kissy kissy, Reno was still trying to function correctly. Had she just…said yes? SHE HAD HADN’T SHE?! A huge grin, even wider than before, swept across Reno’s face as he wrapped his arms around Cissnei, one hand still clinging to that little box for dear life, as he stood up, carrying her with him and he spun her around for a second “SHE SAID YES!!” he called out before setting her down and beaming at her with a grin and some chuckles. “Well then Cissnei, since you just said yes to my proposal…does this mean I can start calling you…my Fiancé?” Words: 1144 Muse: GREAT! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." The silence. So deadly. Cissnei was more or used to silence, but though there was silence for Reno there wasn't any silence for Cissnei. No, while he was kneeling there waiting for her to say something...anything, Cissnei's mind was a flurry of activity. It was like someone was in her mind screaming at her to say yes. The screaming didn't seem to stop either, because now in her head was the buzzing of excited squealing that this was actually reality and not just some dream she had conjured up in her mind. That would be...if she woke up at some point to find herself in her bed making all this up in her head Cissnei might just cry. To good to be true. That was what was running through her head now. Its not...too good to be true...to good to be true...
Somehow even with her tiny body Cissnei seemed to be able to knock Reno down with her hugs. Probably because they were unexpected. With someone like Annie hugs were to be expected, but Cissnei was more reserved, less apt to give someone a leap hug. She barely registered that they were once again headed toward the ground. The last time she had hugged him like this they had ended up on the floor. He was so good at martial arts, was lightning quick with speed and yet she could catch him by surprise with hugs. Maybe she shouldn't have been so hyper about hugging him. But Cissnei couldn't help herself.
She was lifted up as Reno got back up and Cissnei just hugged him with her adoring eyes turned up to look at him. As she was spun around Cissnei started laughing. Not just a chuckle or a little laugh as was normal for her. This laugh was one of glee, like a child that's being tickled, real and whole hearted. As she watched the world flash as she was spun Cissnei clung to Reno and happily grinned as he seeemed to just get the fact that she had indeed said yes. What else would she have said? It was unfathomable that she would have said no...at least in her mind. As sappy as it sounded Cissnei didn't want to be with anyone else other then Reno. And how much better was the good times then the bad? Cissnei didn't like thinking about the bad times, instead focusing on the good. And this...was definitely one of those times. The rooftop now held more good memories then bad.
Yet she still hadn't really comprehended the fact that they were now engaged. It was all so sudden, Cissnei stood there and grinned at Reno with a somewhat dazed look, almost like she was looking without seeing. And yet she was seeing the one person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Everything was blurry except for his face. When he said the word Fiance Cissnei blushed again and clasped her hands together again, eyes shining before nodding up and down again. She hadn't said anything, but now she supposed she should? “I...yes, I think that's...what happens now. I guess I don't really know. I mean, I'm not an expert with things like this.”
Staring at the ring box in his hand, Cissnei wondered what the future would bring. On that first mission Cissnei remembered talking to Reno about the possibility of leaving, settling down, having a family. Then Cissnei had shrugged off the idea. She had had a taste of 'real life' and it wasn't so great. Yet...if you had someone to share your life with, instead of just having an empty life with nothing...would it be different? Would it be not quite so void of happiness? Something told her, as sappy as it sounded, that no matter where she was or what she was doing there, as long as she was with Reno it didn't matter.
They had had different opinions of what was a nice idea for the future, her with the country house and Reno with city life. Yet of course it wasn't like they were just going to run off and buy a house. Something told her they'd be Turks for as long as they were useful however, spending most of their life running around on missions. So that was one thing she didn't have to worry about.
Still, the thought of being married was startling. Who would have thought that little Cissy would ever get married, or that Reno would ever ask someone. Yet here they were. Glancing back and forth from the ring box to Reno and then back again, Cissnei beamed and stood with her arms wrapped around his waist, just drinking it all in. It wasn't ever day that you got engaged after all. For a second she stood there glancing back and forth before a hand covered her mouth and a startled look crossed her face. “Oh my...we're...we're engaged!” That was spoken as if she just realized what it meant.
The startled look was almost instantly replaced with an elated look. “We have to go tell everyone!” The look on her face was pure happy elation before Cissnei turned around to scamper off. It was late, but she had to tell everyone. Cissnei hadn't ever been so happy, and the way she was, being the little sister to basically everyone, Cissnei suddenly felt this overwhelming urge to tell them all. She was engaged! To Reno Sinclair! It floored her. Cissnei couldn't imagine what Reno saw in her of all people, but she couldn't be happier.

Reno wasn’t one to let silence go on forever, but what was the poor guy to do? Crack a joke after he just proposed? That probably wasn’t a good idea, besides, he didn’t even know if she would say yes or not and the thought of him cracking jokes and laughing followed by a big NO from Cissnei…well that would probably make him look like an even bigger fool and he would probably be shattered. Reno…with a shattered ego, had never been seen before, and that part of him never wanted to be revealed, more than likely it would be awful to see Reno unhappy, no jokes, and completely unemotional…the thought was just as scary to Reno as it would be to anyone else trying to imagine it. So instead of bursting out and possibly ruining his ego and his life…Reno just kept quiet, still on one knee, clutching that little black box for dear life as he kept a grin on his face, not wanting to hear an answer he wouldn’t like.
As seconds ticked away Reno started to get a bit impatient. He breathed in heavily at times, yet quietly as his anxiety was starting to accelerate. He had no idea what could be running through Cissnei’s head right now. Yes? No? Maybe so? Was she trying to find an easy way to let him down gently and try to get herself out of an awkward question? Or was she shocked? Stunned? All of the above? Perhaps…she was going to say yes. With this silence, Reno knew Cissnei was quite a lot, and he held onto a tiny shred of hope that she was going to say yes, and this was her way of trying to comprehend what he had just asked her…’Marry me.’ Those words Reno didn’t think he’d be saying for a long time…but now…he felt good and positive about where he wanted his life to go, who he wanted in it, and how he wanted it to end. With Cissnei by his side and rid of this Focus crap once and for all. It sounded pretty good to him.
Then the unbelievable happened. Reno was almost knocked over once again but kept his balance as Cissnei had said yes and literally threw herself into his arms. He didn’t think he’d ever seen her that happy before! It was almost scary how sudden that was, just out of all the silence…BOOM! There she went. Lifting her up and spinning her around for a second before Reno set her down, he was just so…happy! It made his heart stop pounding in his head, and he felt as if everything were going right for once. Looking down at her, Reno was grinning wide, he just couldn’t help it. It was an inevitable feeling for any person who had just gotten ENGAGED! It was really weird too, most people thought Reno as a womanizer, not serious, and never able to settle down, at least anytime soon, and here he was, committing his life to another, ready to take that step and take a wife…Reno was finally starting to mature a bit! Maybe…maybe not. The jokes would still come, no doubt about it. “I’m pretty sure that’s how it goes Ciss.” He said with a chuckle.
Of course being a Turk you wouldn’t really have time to ‘settle down’ and have a family, but maybe one day. It was a good thing to look forward to for Reno, but for now he didn’t want to look that far ahead, right now he was focusing on Cissnei and himself. Engaged! The word buzzed through his mind and he kept grinning no matter what. He couldn’t wait to start planning things letting Cissnei plan everything for the wedding. It was sure to be great, no matter if it was an elopement or a typical old fashioned wedding…but with Turks! Cissnei seemed to be silent even more, Reno kept a hold of the box that held the ring as Cissnei had her arms around his waist before gasping…getting a grip on the fact that they were indeed engaged, and that seemed to spark up her hyperness and emotions.
As Cissnei started to turn and head back inside to tell everyone, Reno widened his eyes before pocketing the ring back where it had once been at the beginning of the day before charging forward after Cissnei and passing her before turning sharply and cutting her off. Bending his knees as she started off. He grabbed her around the waist then flung her over his shoulder and held her there before straightening up. “Not so fast there speed racer.” He said keeping one arm around her as he kept her rested on his shoulder and could only imagine the look on her face from him slinging her over his shoulder. Probably angry or shocked, something he wished he had a camera for. “We can tell everyone…when the time is right. Besides, it’s like…really late ya know? Take a few minutes to breathe before ya shout and decide to wake everyone up.” He said with a chuckle as he couldn’t help but be amused and entertained by Cissnei’s actions right now. He knew now that they both were excited…both destined to be together…as if it were…meant to be. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Words: 1003 Muse: FREAKING FANTASTIC! I wrote this pretty fast!
