It was no secret that Reno could be a little bit of a slacker, lazy, and really cocky when he wanted to be…of course he looked the part pretty well, but when it really came down to it, he was quite the worker. Always dedicated to ShinRa, he always had been, that was another reason why this whole Focus thing bothered him. Had he not really cared about his job, the company, or the people who worked there, it wouldn’t be that big of deal, but…it was like destroying a part of him…his family, everything he had worked for. Dedication was probably the thing that brought him up to Second in Command. And he figured he’d earned that spot fair and square, there was no way he was going to watch it fall to pieces again…let alone being the cause of it all. “It’s weird I know, me of all people…but still…quite a responsibility.” He said leaning back in his chair some and folding his arms across his chest, still letting the thoughts browse through his head.
No matter what it would take, Reno was not going to throw in the towel and give into such a ridiculous focus. It was inevitable in the stories he had heard sure, but Reno thought there had to be something to get him out of it. There was a loophole for practically everything right? Perhaps he would find one for this focus, but he sure wasn’t going to run off and try and find it. Last time he ran off there was a ‘search’ party going for him, and what did Reno get? Punched in the face by Rod, that’s what. No sense in messing around like that again, besides, Reno had a wedding to plan for…or watch Cissnei plan it. Whatever she wanted to do, it was mostly up to her, but the point is, whether or not his focus was 5 days away or 5 years away, he wasn’t leaving.
“It’s always the leaders ain’t it?” Reno said with a heavy sigh before chuckling a little. He was sure starting to get used to this type of talk, figuring out what to do, talking of your ‘inevitable fate’ and what you were gonna do, even if he had no idea what exactly it was he was really going to do. As far as he knew it now, he had 2 distinct options. Monster, or ShinRa’s destruction. Now wasn’t that an easy choice to make? No, and he sure didn’t wanna make that choice anytime soon. “Oh well, something will come up I’m sure. Things always work out ya know? Eventually.” He said in a more optimistic tone as he then started talking about himself having a girl…getting married, etc etc.
Reno thought back on that night he had asked Cissnei to marry him. Stars, blankets, snuggling, it all seemed to fit together perfectly. Then there was his actual proposal, it had seemed to catch her off guard…but it all turned out well for him in the end. She had said yes and seemed very excited about it! That was all Reno was hoping for…though he couldn’t help but let his thoughts run back to something so typical. He would no longer be single…no longer be a boyfriend…he’d had the ol’ ball and chain relationship now. Hopefully it turned out to be a good life. Reno and Cissnei got along so well, he knew she wouldn’t try to have him whipped or anything, but then again, Reno would probably have to mature some, act like a husband, not a womanizer or an immature teenager or something along those lines. This was the time to grow up and take things a little more seriously…jokes and pranks part time instead of full time for him.
With a small smirky chuckle Reno placed a few fingers at his chin as he kept thinking. “Yeah, unbelievable ain’t it? Reno Sinclair has a girl and she hasn’t run off crying yet.” He chuckled even more at the thought. His grin grew even wider at the congratulations. “Thanks dude, I’m just hoping she doesn’t yell a lot…or get too bossy…and can make a damn good sandwich.” That was of course a joke…sort of. He wasn’t going to turn into one of those guys who thought women only had a purpose for cooking…but Cissnei making him a sandwich every once in a blue moon might be kinda nice. A long shot from that for now though. “Yeah you.” He said looking at Two Guns with a serious and happy face as he meant his words. He wanted Ethan to be one of the groomsmen and that was that…no questions asked. “Good! I’m glad, I want my favorite guys to be up there when I lose all my freedom- I mean get married.” And here came to best part. “You’ll never guess who the girl is though…” he said before picking up his beer mug and taking another drink and just letting the suspense sort of…float around for awhile.
