Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early OOC: Alright, I'm only doing this ooc thing because the title would be WAYYYYYYYY too long to put everyones names in there lol. Anyways. Tagged: Cissnei, Rude, Rufus, Rod, and of course Reno! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “If you accept, this ring will symbolize my promise to you to be true…..You're amazing, just the way you are. I really care about you, Cissnei, and I want us to be together.”
”I never break a promise…”Those words…all of them, they stuck with Reno this whole time, and he hated it. His mind was haunting him right about now for the choices he had been making lately. Running away from ShinRa, from Cissnei, from his friends…and from his focus…how long would it last? How long would it take before PSICOM or even the other Turks came after him? He didn’t know, but laying low was key for right now, hopefully no one asked questions, and if they did, they wouldn’t get any answers. Besides, Reno was still a Turk, no one would have the nerve to ask him why he was…wherever he was, but still there were some people who weren’t afraid to butt into other people’s business…So for now, Kalm, a small town, was his hiding spot. No one would expect him hiding out in such a tiny town for awhile now would they? Reno hoped not.
With his sleeve rolled back, Reno sat on the corner of a bed in the room he was staying in while in Kalm. A tiny Inn that seemed to fit him perfectly, able to lay low for awhile before deciding what to do next, where to go, things like that. While his sleeve was rolled back, he stared down at the brand that was practically tattooed on his wrist. With a heavy sigh He dropped his hand down into his lap, letting the sleeve roll down with it, he just gazed out the paned window and saw some of the townsfolk celebrating…a festival of some sort. “What’s there to celebrate?” He said standing up and looking at the people below. It was night time so it’s not like anyone would spot the Fiery red head watching out of his window, so that was good. No one needed to know he was here. Only leave when necessary, like for food and what not. For now, Reno was quiet as a mouse, nothing he was really used to.
Reno closed his eyes and sighed once more stepping away from the window and pulling the curtains back, his room was dark except for the one lamp he had on, making it dimly lit. Not that it bothered him any, but as he turned away from the shielded window, he folded his hands behind his back, taking slow steps across the room and a smile twitching on the corners of his lips. “This…might not be a bad thing…” he said before his face completely fell. “Who am I kidding? This is horrible!” He complained pressing a fist to his face as he started to get aggravated with himself. The things he left behind…he couldn’t bear to think about. “I don’t think I can handle this without…Rude…or Cissnei…” he said still pressing his fist to his forehead and then tightening the grip on his fist. “Why did I have to get chosen for this…?” He grumbled letting his hand drop to his side before sighing once more. “Stupid Fal’Cie…Stupid PSICOM for probably getting the thing here…Stupid L’Cie crap.” And the list could go on and on, but talking about it nonstop wasn’t going to fix anything.
Reno could gripe, complain, moan, and whine all he wanted, it didn’t change one damn thing about this L’Cie business. How was he going to do this? He sure as hell didn’t want to turn into one of those flailing Cie’th monsters, the ones he and Zack Fair had encountered once. They didn’t have the right mind to do anything, just wail and flail their deformed limbs around stumbling over anything and anyone in their path…but then again, he didn’t want to destroy the company he had lived for, fought for, and placed his life on the line for multiple times. Choices, choices, choices. It was really hard to decide what to do…become a monster and die out eventually or destroy the place and ones you lived for…not an easy decision.
Wandering back over to his neatly made bed, Reno plopped on the side, resting his elbows on his legs and his head in his hands before putting his face down in the palms of his hands and letting out a stressful sigh. "What…the hell am I going to do?” he said to himself quietly as the thoughts and memories rushed through his brain and didn’t stop, like a ticker tape. It just kept replaying…those words of ‘promise’ and ‘always being there for you’…a lie he never intended. None of this…was ever supposed to happen.Words: 958 Muse: Pretty Good! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei stood on the rooftop, clutching the paper in her hands. Hair was in disarray and her suit wasn't neat and well put together as it usually was. Having woke up to find a letter she had run off wearing only her pajamas out into the cold. Standing there for hours, she had been unable to grasp what had just happened. Finally she had gone back to her room, but she had wanted to get in a helicopter and follow him, but something had held her back. She had sat there, staring at the letter until her eyes were bloodshot, and finally then, all by herself, she had broken down and cried. Now it was the next day, and finally after hours had passed and the sun had risen, Cissnei had gotten in her suit and without telling anyone, went off in a helicopter to find him. Yet she had only managed to start the helicopter before she felt the gravity of the situation. Reno had left hours before, he could be literally anywhere. She wouldn't be able to find him herself.
That brought so many questions flowing into her mind. Yes she was was now being taken over by emotions, unable to think clearly, but still her Turk mode wouldn't allow her to stay like that. Even now, emotionally shattered, she knew what this meant. No way of doing this alone, she needed help. But who?! Cissnei wouldn't even think of telling the president. Reno had left, in the President's eyes he had deserted. All the Turks knew what that meant. Assassination. No matter what, she couldn't allow that to happen. Reno was the man she loved, she couldn't...she just...couldn't. Hand went up to cover her mouth as a sob tore at her chest, eyes blurred from tears. Blinking rapidly, she tried to erase them. What was wrong with her? She was a Turk. Turk's didn't cry! It was a weakness. Yet her hand still clutched the letter he had written.
Knuckles were white from clasping the letter so tightly, it lay crumpled up inside her hands. Eyes refused to look at it anymore. After she had read it the first twenty five times she couldn't bring herself to do that again. Every time she did Cissnei could feel those tears threaten to spill, so finally she had figured she would let it rest, unable to fathom that what was written there was true or that Reno had left. Left her. Left ShinRa. He had walked out. “You promised...” It was spoken at a whisper as she stood there, head swimming from what she had learned. Reno was a l'cie. Lips quivered and eyes brimmed once again as she stood there looking out. This couldn't be happening! For once! For just once could something in her life not be taken away? If she had any less self control Cissnei wouldn't still have the strength to stand. Yet somehow she did, but her eyes were blank, looking without seeing.
“Reno.......” Closing her eyes, she bowed her head and felt the wind whip her hair as it swirled around her. The cold was stinging her, yet she didn't feel it, numb from more then just the freezing temperature. She felt like she had when she had taken that magic attack, numb all over, and like her head was in a fog. Unable to believe. Unable to breath. Unable to think. Yet something had to be done. Standing there in the snow, hands freezing, knuckles white, shallowly breathing, she tried to think of what she could do to help. “You said...you'd always be here.” voice was so quiet it could barely be heard, eyes remained closed and her head was still downcast. Lifting it finally, cheeks red from the cold, eyes red from the tears, Cissnei stood on locked knees and opened her eyes once more.
Somehow she needed the strength to go on. Turning, she walked as if in a trance toward the ShinRa building. Someone...someone...she had to tell someone. Then her mind settled on someone through the fog. Rude. Rude had to know. He would help her. He wouldn't tell the president right away. She could trust him to keep it a secret and help her find Reno. Cissnei had to help, she couldn't let Reno do this alone. No matter what would happen, she loved him, and that wasn't going to change. Lifting a hand to her face, Cissnei wiped the tears away as best she could and continued walking. Suit wasn't neat and proper as always, instead it was frumpy from being thrown on, something unknown for Cissnei. She couldn't feel her hands or face from the temperature.
Finally making it back to the building, the blast of warm air helped unthaw her somewhat, but even as she warmed up she couldn't seem to feel. Crimson eyes, usually so bright and watchful were clouded. Walking slowly, Cissnei made it to Rude's office and hesitated as she stood outside. Could she do this? What would he say? Would he help? He wouldn't turn Reno in would he? Pushing those thoughts inside Cissnei opened the door without knocking and walked in, eyes downcast and face was twisted up slightly. Closing the door, Cissnei turned and pressed her hands against it, almost as if unable to follow through with telling him. The air caught at her lungs and she held her breath for a few seconds, if she let it out, she was going to start sobbing. “Rude...I need your help...” Eyes were closed and voice broke slightly. Cissnei had wanted to be so strong, so clearing her throat again, she lifted her head and tried again. “Its about Reno...” Turning around then, her red eyes looked at two men who were in the office. Rude and Rod both were there...to late to back out now. Tears had streaked her face and her hair was mussed from the wind, she looked haggard from her sleepless night and the tears. the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude’s day had started off uneventful. However, that took a turn in the opposite direction after around an hour of being in his office. He had just been trying to get some work finished, and was taking a look at some device that Elena had came back from a mission with, saying it had been attached to Leviathan’s back and had been influencing its actions. The middle of it had been destroyed by the bullet Elena had had to hit it with, but parts of it were spared – or spared enough to try and figure out, at least. It was an interesting little thing, with some sort of brand on the underneath in one of the corners. Elena had taken a look at it herself first, but insisted that Rude also take a look because he knew more.
It had been awfully quiet so far today, and once again, he found it slightly unusual. His eyebrows drew together slightly as he paused in what he was doing. He stood by his suspicions that something was wrong when the place was this quiet. He was practically waiting on Reno showing up and finding out that Rod was back, and the two of them just starting to bicker and argue just like old times. He had to admit, as annoying as Reno and Rod’s bickering was going to get, it was nice having more of the Turks around again. It kind of gave hope in that maybe the others would return eventually too. First Cissnei, now Rod had returned. Who was going to be next, if anyone? Part of him didn’t want to hold out any hope, but the other part of him wanted them to come back.
Around a minute later, after he had resumed working on the device, the door of his office opened without the person knocking first, and he knew it had to be one of three people – Reno, Rod or Cissnei. They were the only ones that didn’t knock when they came into his office. Looking up, sure enough, Rude found it to be Rod bounding into his office, with a large grin on his face. Rude almost felt like facepalming at the younger Turk, who immediately approached his desk, perching himself on the edge of it, asking what he was doing. Rude hadn’t answered and instead just gestured at the half-destroyed device in front of him.
Rod’s eyes had lit up, and they had set about trying to figure it out together, with Rod being surprisingly tame and calm in comparison to how he behaved normally. It was rather amusing seeing Rod so quiet and concentrated on something. It would have been interesting to see how he had been working in the ‘real world’, and having a real, normal job instead of being a Turk. Rude was willing to bet that Rod had been the best damn mechanic in the whole of Edge, and he was probably right. Rod had been making quite a bit of progress on figuring out exactly how the device worked, when the door to Rude’s office opened again and Cissnei came in this time. However, he missed the expression on her fact before she turned to close the door because Rod was in the way.
“Rude...I need your help... It’s about Reno...”
Ordinarily, Rude might have just asked something along the lines of “what did he do now?”, but as soon as he had heard Cissnei’s turn he knew this was serious. Her voice sounded like it was going to break, or that she was going to cry, and she had yet to turn around. He immediately frowned, instantly worried. What’s going on? Cissnei would never act like this unless something had really upset her. Had something happened to Reno? “Cissnei, what’s wrong?” He lowered his glasses slightly and looked over them at the petite girl, before he went to stand up and move over to her.

the - COCKY - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rod had been seated in his own office, spinning on the desk chair and aiming paper balls at the wastepaper basket. Needless to say, he was bored. Really bored. Frowning, he glanced at the computer on his desk, and then at the untouched paperwork in front of him on the desk. He didn’t want to have to do the paperwork right now... It could wait. But, he might just have to do it if nothing else popped up to amuse him, because he would rather sit and do paperwork than have nothing to do at all. And it wouldn’t even be the fun kind of nothing to do, either. Spinning around once more on the chair, Rod decided that he should go see if there was anyone else in that he could go pester....after he stopped feeling light-headed, that is.
It seemed that no one was here except Elena and Rude, however. He’d tried pestering Elena for a short while, but had decided it would be better for his health if he just fled for the time being. Chuckling to himself a little as he thought about the annoyed expressions on Elena’s face as he made his way down the hall to Rude’s office. Without even knocking, he wandered in, giving the bigger guy a mock salute. “Yo!” He grinned at Rude, leaning against the doorframe. “What’cha doin’?” In answer to the question, Rude gestured down at the practically destroyed device on his desk.
Rod’s eyes lit up as he looked at it, moving away from the door frame and closing the door to the office before walking up and perching himself on the edge of Rude’s desk. “So what do we have ’ere?” he asked, and Rude proceeded to explain what Elena had told him about the device, and what she had found out when she had looked at it herself. If he wasn’t interested before, then he definitely was now. This thing controlled Leviathan? Picking it up, he examined a part of it himself. This was a curious little thing, alright... But, that brand on the bottom corner, Rod felt like he had seen it before somewhere.
Even though he may not act like he was smart, Rod was by far intelligent. All of the Turk’s were, but he was the more...tech savvy one, out of them all. Motorcycles, cars, helicopters and various other vehicles, as well as any sorts of gadgets and computers. He’d even fiddled with his EMR and upgraded the thing to make it more powerful all by himself. When he wasn’t out on a mission or anything, he could normally be found working on his motorcycle, or on something else. Well, either that or he was in the training room, normally. Rod was beginning to think he was figuring out the transmitter when the door to Rude’s office opened and Cissnei stepped in. Before he could even greet her, she spoke.
“Rude...I need your help... It’s about Reno...”
Rod would have pulled a face at the mention of Reno’s name, if Cissnei’s tone and her appearance hadn’t shocked him some. Her voice was about to break, and she’d had to clear her throat. It almost sounded like she was about to cry, which made his eyes widen slightly. She also looked...kinda rough, like she hadn’t slept at all, and her suit and general appearance wasn’t as well-kept as normal. ‘It’s about Reno’...? His thoughts repeated her words and a small scowl found its way onto his lips. If he’s done anythin’ to hurt her, I swear to Gaia that I will not be responsible for my actions...
“Cissnei, what’s wrong?”
Rude’s deep voice penetrated the silence that had overcome the room, and the big guy had made to stand up and walk over to Cissnei, but Rod was still perched on the edge of the desk so he was closer. “Cissnei...” For once he was rather speechless, and wasn’t sure what to say at all. A joke would be terribly out of place, he feared, because something was really off and really wrong here. Pursing his lips, Rod stood up and walked straight over to Cissnei, gently taking her hands away from the door and turning her around to embrace her in a tight hug. He didn’t know what was wrong, but it was quite rare to see Cissnei this way. All he could do right now until she told them what had happened was hug her, and hope that comforted her even just a little.

Rufus ShinRaA good son would have known. Sitting at his desk, Rufus riffled through the stacks of paper that were milling about the surface of his desk. Sometimes he did wonder as to how he got himself through all of this, when it seemed that each day the sea of papers grew and grew. But, he didn't the mind. The countless tasks kept his mind at work, and he actually hated resting. But, only when he needed his mind to wander did he then rest. At times like this when he did work, rest wasn't option. Thinking and working to keep his company on top were his only priorities at the moment. He couldn't waste these precious moments that passed much too quickly than they seemed. He had to keep moving, keep his mind active, and keep his company at the top.
Sifting through the stacks of papers, something caught his eye. He quickly pulled it from the pile and scanned his eyes across it. It seemed familiar in a way and he looked around his desk until he found a pile of papers clipped together, he sifted through those as well, until he found what he needed. It was a picture. A picture of a mark, or a brand if you will. There had supposedly been sightings of this mark around Edge, and even Gaia, and people were wondering if it was some sort of terrorist group set on destroying ShinRa or some other large, expansed company. The thing was, Rufus had never seen this mark, and he didn't know if it belonged to another company of sorts, or a rebel group. He would have to find out a bit more, and then send his Turks out for some more information retrieval. For now, he placed the paper with the small stack and set it aside, turning back to the rest that was placed on his desk.
After going through the rest, he realized that mostly everything else was just requests and other stuff that needed acceptance. He let out a sigh. Most of the time, he couldn't just let those go by, he had to read through them. And at the look of the pile, he had to read a lot. He let out a small sigh, before standing up, and turning to look out of the floor-to-celing windows that were conveniently placed behind him. It easily looked out over the city of Edge, and the dark, desolute, and black city, that ShinRa was working hard at rebuilding, looked back at him. He placed his hand lightly against the cool glass, and his mind almost wandered away into other thoughts as he silently muttered to himself, "...my legacy...," after which he shook his head, and turned back to his desk, setting his mind back onto his work. Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno sighed, this wasn’t going to be easy. First thing was first, find a starting point, a plan, something to get him moving, get some progress going…less sulking more planning. But…he didn’t know all that much about this L’Cie business. All he really had an idea about this was the way Cloud Strife had acted when Reno encountered him and helped him from PSICOM those few times awhile back. There was a little back story in what he read when researching about those Cie’th that had wandered into Edge and Midgar, not much though. Gaia didn’t exactly have much on things from other worlds, it hadn’t been that long since people discovered those portals and PSICOM began showing up and same with other people and stuff claiming to be from ‘another world’. Reno just thought it was a bunch of stupid paranoia mumbo jumbo…till now.
Sitting on the edge of his temporary bed, Reno huffed an angry breath before slamming his fists down on each side of him, making the bed creak a bit as he shook his head and closed his eyes. ‘I left her….I left everything I worked for…why doesn’t life have a redo button?’ he thought to himself before taking in a deep breath and getting up to his feet, walking over to the window and pulling one side of curtains back and placing one hand in his pocket as he looked down at the little town below. So festive they were, they had no idea about the dangerous L’Cie stalking their town right now did they? Did they even know what a L’Cie was? Probably not, it wasn’t something you heard about a lot…the only one ever really heard about here was Cloud Strife, and even then, that was on the down low when it came to public society. As his eyes kept staring down at the town he decided, maybe staying put for a few days would be a good idea. Think of a nice little plan then get on with it? If only things were that simple.
Letting the curtain go back floating around the window, Reno walked away from it once again. The silence and boredom of being cooped up inside would probably get to him. That and his guilty thoughts right now about leaving Cissnei and the others behind. It was one of the hardest decisions to make in his entire life. ‘I’ve got to focus…come on Reno, suck it up. Go do something, anything, get your mind off of things.’ He told himself before he stepped out of his room, locking the door and placing his key in his pocket as he made his way down to the little town below. There had to be something to do, even in such a tiny town as Kalm. A bar maybe? Drown his sorrows away? No, too cliché. But then again, it was the perfect getaway. Drink yourself to happiness, yes that was the way to go. Now if only Reno knew exactly where a bar was around here…that’d be nice.
Sure people looked at him and stared. He obviously looked the part of a Turk, and people might’ve seen him before, but then again, he could’ve just been a guy wearing a suit, messy and what not it still was a lot nicer than some of the clothes people around here were wearing. As he walked around the town quietly, glancing around him every so often for any signs of danger (to him), he just kept walking with his hands in his pockets. Reno couldn’t get his head to shut up…that was going to get so old if all he was going to think about was the look on Cissnei’s face the night he left…the letter he left her…that picture of them together. It was all engraved into his mind and it wouldn’t go away. Something told him to call her, tell her he was okay, but…yet he wasn’t okay. Nothing was okay anymore. Better leave well enough alone. And just when Reno thought his thoughts hit rock bottom, he stepped into a small little bar on the street and went to go clear his mind for awhile.Words: 808 Muse: Pretty Damn good! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." I cant do this. I cant...I cant tell anyone, he told me to not tell anyone...he told me......a promise. But he didn't keep that either. How can I just stand by and watch the person I care about most leave? He walked away. If I hadn't woken up he wouldn't have even said goodbye. How could he not have said goodbye! Does he even care? Was everything he said a lie? What am I going to do? Can I...should I tell Rude and Rod? Will I ever see him again? Cissnei's mind was in a fog, swirling with all the thoughts, all the questions. She still stood there and wondered what would happen. Head was hung, eyes were closed before she opened them and turned. Judging by the looks she was receiving she must look horrible, but she didn't care about that.
Crimson eyes rose and she looked directly at Rude, uncaring about her appearance. His deep voice sounded to break the silence but she hesitated. Could she go through with this? Lifting a hand, Cissnei nervously tucked her hair behind her ear and then rubbed it across her face, trying to wipe out the traces of tears. The words caught in her throat, almost unable to get out what she had to say. If someone like the President or Tseng walked in Cissnei would try to snap out of it, but with Rude and Rod she could show her emotions without getting yelled at. Emotions were still skittering around and the thoughts were swirling around in her head, unable to organize themselves.
Before anything else could happen suddenly she was being pulled into a hug. Somehow that helped to get her mind focused and less emotional. Closing her eyes Cissnei just stood there, near tears and a deep shuddering sigh sent a shiver down her spine. Rod had made it better with just a hug. Hugging him back, Cissnei took in a deep breath. When she thought she had enough emotional stability to explain she pulled back and attempted a smile at Rod, which didn't work out so well. Lips lifted only slightly and her eyes hadn't changed from the painfully hurt expression from before, but she had attempted. “Thank you...” Spoken so softly it could barely be heard, it was still something. For a moment Cissnei looked up at him and his resemblance to Reno made her blink. How had she never noticed that before? Cissnei squeezed Rod's hand before stepping completely away and clenched her hands into fists. Hearing a crinkle and looking down, she realized Reno's letter was still crushed between her fingers.
It would help explain the situation to them...but she couldn't show them the last thing that Reno had given her. At least not at this point in her emotionally shattered state. Slowly she put the crumpled letter into her pocket and took another deep breath. “Reno...he...I...” Closing her eyes again, Cissnei wished she was dreaming. If only that were so. She could wake up and know it wasn't real. But this was real, not something she could avoid. “He's gone.” All the composure she had just gained back left and her hands started shaking. Lifting the hand to her face, Cissnei placed it over her lips as she shook. Before she had thought that no more tears could possibly come out, but they threatened again. Blinking them back, Cissnei lifted her head proudly and gritted her teeth. Now wasn't the time to get emotional. They had to come up with a plan of action, they had to find him. Her sobbing about it wasn't helping the situation any.
“I'm so sorry. I couldn't...stop him...I couldn't...I tried!” Mind replayed the night before as she stood there in Rude's office. Waking up to the door closing, finding the letter and then the running. She remembered seeing him walking and shouting after him to stop, to wait, not to leave her. Eyes flashed the hurt again as she relived that moment. But he had left, and he hadn't even said goodbye before he had attempted it. The cold had numbed her body, but she had tried to catch him, to make him stay, to tell him to stop. It hadn't worked. “He told me not to tell, but I couldn't! I had to tell you, I have to find him, we have to find him! Somethings wrong, I don't know what to do. I went to find him but I had no idea where to look. I don't know what to do. I just-...” The last bit had been strung together as she talked fast, working herself up before stopping mid-sentence. It hadn't really made any sense, I have to calm down! Start from the beginning. Where to start from though?
Her gaze caught her promise ring on her right hand and for a moment Cissnei stared at it. Mind flashed back to the night Reno had given it to her. The words floated around her head...“If you accept, this ring will symbolize my promise to you to be true. To never pressure you to do anything more than kiss. To listen to your problems. To tell you when you have food in your teeth or eye gunk. To come over to your room whenever you need something super heavy moved around. I promise to make you feel proud when you point down the hall and say, ‘That dude’s my boyfriend.’ I promise to do all of those things… without ever trying to sound like Matthew McConaughey. You're a great Turk, but you're an even better individual...you're pretty, smart, and everything a guy could ask for. You're amazing, just the way you are. I really care about you, Cissnei, and I want us to be together.” Promise to be true...but he had left. That moment had been probably the happiest of her life, then she hadn't thought for a moment that this would be happening to her, or to Reno rather. Reno...why did you have to go?! I love you. Why?! Why did you have to go? I would have gone with you. Whatever was wrong, I would have helped. I would have went with you. Clearing her head, Cissnei's shoulders slumped. “I suppose I should start over...” Words: 1198 Muse: awesome Tagged: Reno, Rude, Rod and Rufus...they all start with R's! o.o Notes: SO SAD!! ;-;

the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude would have walked over to Cissnei if Rod hadn’t beaten him to it. He watched as Rod pulled Cissnei into a hug to comfort her as she was obviously upset. For once Rod also seemed to be at a loss for what to say, and instead stayed quiet for the moment. If Rod couldn’t think of anything to say at all, then this situation must be pretty bad, because you normally couldn’t get him to shut up. Just moments before, Rude had had to deal with a constant stream of chatter from the auburn-haired male. What could be wrong...? Rude wondered to himself, as he stood where he had stopped beside his desk.
Reno, what the hell have you done to cause this... After a moment’s pause, and after Cissnei had pulled away from Rod, Rude stepped up to the pair, placing a hand on Cissnei’s shoulder in a comforting gesture. Or, what he hoped was one, anyway. Patiently, he waited to hear what she had to say, as she seemed to struggle for a second with her words.
“Reno...he...I... He’s gone.”
It took a moment for Cissnei’s words to completely register, but even when they did, Rude still found them hard to believe. “Gone...?” he repeated, more to himself than to Rod or Cissnei. What did she mean ‘gone’? Rude’s mind was now racing, trying to think about why the hell Reno would do such a thing, or if there could be some sort of explanation for it. But he came up with nothing. Something’s not right with this... Reno wouldn’t just up and leave without a very good reason. Nonetheless...a feeling of anger and hurt knotted itself in his chest, more for what this was probably doing to Cissnei more than anything else, however. She was going to more torn about this than the rest of them were.
“I’m so sorry. I couldn’t...stop him...I couldn’t...I tried!”
“Don’t apologise.” And he meant that, too. He knew exactly how stubborn Reno could be when he was set on something, and practically nothing could get in his way. This wasn’t Cissnei’s fault, that much he was sure of. Probably the only thing he was sure of at the moment.
“He told me not to tell, but I couldn’t! I had to tell you, I have to find him, we have to find him! Something’s wrong, I don’t know what to do. I went to find him but I had no idea where to look. I don’t know what to do. I just-...”
Seeing Cissnei this upset also upset Rude, and it made that knot in his chest tighten. She was completely broken up about this, and she was clearly close to crying. What the hell, Reno... He hadn’t even stopped when she’d gone after him? This had to be something serious... Reno would never leave Cissnei behind like this, or any of the rest of them for that matter, if something big hadn’t happened. But what could it have been? Rude could think of nothing, from what he knew, that could have called for this. He glanced over at Rod, knowing that the younger male would not be pleased over this, and would be more willing to show that than Rude. Rod had always had a short temper, and it was better not to be tested.
“I suppose I should start over...”
Rude nodded, making an affirmative “Mm,” sound, because as much as he didn’t normally talk very much, words were failing him at the moment, and he couldn’t decide what to ask first, or if he should ask anything at all in case it upset her further. So Cissnei starting over sounded good, because then they might be able to get some sort of idea about where Reno had been headed, or what had went wrong. Rude wasn’t holding out any hope that they would be able to figure it out, however. That was wishful thinking, and they may end up not knowing where to start looking. Crossing his arms over his broad chest, Rude waited for Cissnei to start speaking again.

the - COCKY - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rod kept the embrace going for as long as Cissnei wanted it to. He was just glad that he was able to do something, even if it was just something as simple as a hug. At least it would offer her a little bit of comfort when she seemed really quite upset. He didn’t like seeing her like this, at all, but even if the hug didn’t do much to help or make her feel better, at least he could say he tried. They stayed like that for a few moments, before Cissnei pulled back and attempted a weak smile and thanked him. Rod shook his head, still keeping his mouth shut and not saying anything, more out of fear of saying the wrong thing than anything else. He squeezed her hand gently back when she squeezed his, silently giving her a little comfort, even if he doubted it was really working.
“Reno...he...I... He’s gone.”
Rod blinked, opening his mouth slightly before shutting it again. Reno’s gone!? That...that couldn’t be right. Reno loved his job, always had, and his closest friends and his girlfriend were here. He blinked again, looking from Cissnei to Rude to see the big guy’s reaction. As expected, however, there wasn’t much of one, but Rod could somewhat sense that Rude wasn’t happy at all. Frankly, neither was Rod. Sure, he had thought about how different things could have turned if Reno truly wasn’t here, but no, he wouldn’t wish it at all. Mainly because he knew how upset Cissnei would be.
Cissnei’s composure was crumbling again before his eyes, and Rod almost felt helpless. What the hell could he say? Nothing he could say could make any of this better, and being at a loss for words frustrated him greatly. So all he done was place an arm around Cissnei’s shoulders as she looked like she was going to cry. It was all he could think of. He had never really had to deal with emotional or upset women before, so this wasn’t exactly his forte or anything. Frowning, his own annoyance towards Reno was growing. How could he have done this to Cissnei?
“I’m so sorry. I couldn’t...stop him...I couldn’t...I tried!”
Rod’s aqua eyes looked back down at Cissnei after she spoke again. Hold on... he thought to himself, before his frown turned into a scowl. So Reno didn’ even stop when Cissnei went after him?! Rod’s nose wrinkled slightly in annoyance. If he had been growing angry with Reno before, he was downright pissed off now. He didn’t care that Reno was stubborn enough to give him a run for his money in the stubbornness department, but to just walk out on everything and everyone without even saying anything was just... Rod grit his teeth slightly, as he tried to calm down a little, not showing many outward signs that he was angry.
“He told me not to tell, but I couldn’t! I had to tell you, I have to find him, we have to find him! Something’s wrong, I don’t know what to do. I went to find him but I had no idea where to look. I don’t know what to do. I just-...”
Hearing how frantic and upset Cissnei sounded was doing nothing to help Rod calm down any. If anything, it just made it worse. He bit his tongue and stopped himself from saying anything, however, because if he were to speak now it would be fuelled by his temper, and that wouldn’t help any of them, least of all Cissnei. No...he had to keep quiet, and listen and think. They needed to think this all through, before they went marching off to go in search of Reno. Plus there was the matter of if Rufus or Tseng would have missions for them to go on... So they might not even get to leave until later today, or maybe not even until tomorrow, if luck wasn’t in their favour.
“I suppose I should start over...”
Rod nodded shortly. “Yeah...and then we can think of a plan,” he said, managing to keep his tone fairly even. He, for one, was completely set on coming up with some sort of plan to look for and find Reno. And perhaps not for the best of reasons now, either. Regardless, he would help Cissnei and Rude find him. Turks stuck together, and they were going to get him back.

Post by Rufus ShinRa on Mar 11, 2011 21:09:14 GMT -5
Rufus ShinRaA good son would have known. Getting back to work was as easy to do as it was to say, or...at least it was for Rufus. Sitting back down at his desk, he shifted through the papers once again, and checked his computer for any messages that had been left unnoticed earlier...Nothing. Well, at least that allowed him to get back to the tasks at hand, and finish what needed to be finished, and assign missions that needed to be assigned. Speaking of which...
Grabbing a set of papers that were clipped together, he slowly scanned through, examining the contents, and letting it all be absorbed into this mind. This matter had to be solved directly, and he knew the exact force that could get his job done. He would look after a few more things, and try to finish up a bit more, maybe even figure out some more mission, and then head off to assign the Turks to do their jobs.
Everyone thought being the President of a big company was a posh life with easy shortcuts. Yes, Rufus lived a comfortable life...that didn't mean he got by running his company with shortcuts. He was efficient, and he was going to restore ShinRa's reputation after his father had poisoned it with his personality and tactics. Just thinking about his father made Rufus angered and in a bad mood. He hated his father. All that man wanted was money and power. He wanted to rule Gaia with an iron-fist. Rufus wanted the same, not that he would admit it, and excluding the money and power. But he ruled by fear. But, after the incident, he changed his ways, and starting from there, rebuilt ShinRa back to it's former glory. Or tried to, at least. It seemed that every natural, or unnatural, occurrence was blamed on ShinRa. And Rufus was the one cleaning it up. People thought the President lived a posh life. He lived comfortably, but he was up to his head in paperwork, and appointments. People didn't know what they were saying.
Finishing up a few things, he stood from his desk, and grabbed the files needed for the Turks, so that they would have the information needed for their missions. He would have given the job to Tseng, but he was away on a mission himself, and so the job was up to Rufus. He would have to talk with Rude, Reno, and maybe even Rod, and Elena about their tasks. So, he headed down to their offices.
Walking straight, and stern-like, he started to come up to the Turk's offices, but he could hear muffled voices.
“I suppose I should start over...”
“Yeah...and then we can think of a plan.”
It sounded like Cissnei, and Rod, and they were over in the vicinity of Rude's office. Usually when his Turks were together, they were cracking jokes and laughing. There weren't cracking jokes and laughing. Both Cissnei's and Rod's voices sounded distressed, sad, serious...They were never like that when they were lounging around with each other. Something was up. He approached Rude's office, and opened the door, taking in the sight of a ruffled Cissnei, a serious Rod, and an expressionless, but what looked like contemplative, Rude. None of which, except for maybe Rude, was ordinary.
