The male walked through the grass, a soft breeze rustling his dark blue hair. He loved being out in the open, alone. It helped him to think about things, and he always liked to do his homework. There was a field close to his apartment, which was why he was always in the field. He just didn’t like it when he was rudely interrupted, which was what usually happened if he went to a coffee shop or even in his own apartment. There were so many distractions that he barely got anything done. Good thing he was a genius.
He sat down against a tree and spread out his things. He looked towards the sky, still feeling the breeze. He loved it. He could create a bigger breeze, but he just wanted it to be natural for a while. He had control over all the air in the world, but he hardly used it unless he was either defending himself or another. He used them sometimes when he wanted to, but that wasn’t often. He opened his book and began to take notes, stopping every once in a while thinking he heard something. He shook his head, telling himself he was just being paranoid, and went back to his homework.

Ugh, damn ShinRa. They'd pay dearly for their insolence. Did they think they could keep her, a Bahamut Summon, out for long? ... Well, she wasn't exactly what she used to be, but that wasn't about to stop her. She just needed a rest. A soft sigh faded into the crisp morning air, giving way to the quiet chirp of birds. Maybe being little wasn't so bad after all? She never got to enjoy things like hanging in trees back then... Naaaaah. Stunning blue eyes drifted lazily into the distance, where a young blue haired human was making his way over to the tree she was perched in. Uh oh. Well, he didn't look like much of a threat, and there was no way she was giving up her spot. Then he laid down.
"Lovely day, huh?" she said suddenly, arching her back like a cat and prowling down the branch so that she was directly over him. Pff, she didn't even like humans, but she needed to get her mind off of things. "Come to enjoy the scenery? You humans like that, don't you...?" Her head tilted for emphasis. The pseudo dragon may not have been particularly fond of anything humanoid, but they were great fun to mess with. They'd all be under her control one day, but for now this one could serve her as a source of entertainment.

The male was content in sitting underneath the tree doing his homework. Considering he had super hearing, he had heard something above him. Of course, him being the oblivious idiot he was, he didn’t pay any attention to it. He figured it was just a squirrel, sitting above him. He loved wildlife, especially cats, and he would never do anything to hurt them…unless they hurt him first. He would only do it in self defense, and even then it would just break his heart knowing that he had killed an animal. In fact, he was part animal, so it was like killing one of his family. He was a neko, although he was in his human form, so no one could tell.
The neko wasn’t prepared for what he heard next. He suddenly heard a voice, and it sent him up into the air and into defense mode. He was only in his half neko form now, but he was about to go full neko, claws and everything. He looked around to see who was there, and frowned. He didn’t have a clue where it came from. Then he looked in the tree, and was a bit amazed at what he saw. It seemed like a lizard and a girl. He inched closer cautiously. He wasn’t about to trust this girl or lizard thing or whatever she was. “Um…ok, first of all, scaring me is not cool! Second of all, I’m clearly not a human. And third, what the hell are you? And fourth, I like pretty days. Is that a problem?” He tried getting a closer look, but didn’t want to get too close in case she tried to do something.
He was oddly fascinated by what she was. He had never seen a being like her. Sure, he had seen some weird beings considering where he lived, but never one like her. He knew she was a girl because of her voice. If she hadn’t spoken, he wouldn’t have known the difference. He stood his ground, in case she got angry. He didn’t want to take chances with this new…uh, creature. Yeah, that’s what he would call her until he knew what she was.

Coarse laughter rose from the reptile's throat as the boy jumped back like he was being shot. Her spiky frill rose animatedly as she clawed forward and sat up on her haunches, balancing delicately on her perch. She looked at him and trilled like a bird when he started to speak, lip curled in an impish sneer. His reaction had been priceless! Still, at the same time, she could understand his confusion, though it offended her pride. Slowly, amusement shifted ever so slightly to anger, then sadness, then back to amusement, her sharp spines rising subtly with the changes, like some sort of emotion detector. The pause was hardly noticeable, and soon she was back to her spunky, sadistic self.
"Well, you look pretty human to me..." she purred teasingly. Though her voice was coated with condescending pleasure, it was clear the beast meant no harm, and was only poking in good fun, as her eyes were practically glowing with playfulness. She could be pretty immature at times. "Now then. First: yes it is. Second: as I said, you're pretty humanoid any way you look at it, even if you're not entirely. Third: I'm a powerful dragon that got turned into ... this... weak... thing by ShinRa pigs. Fourth: No, there's nothing wrong with that." She finished with a sigh and rested her head neatly on her large, curled paws, and chuckled"You like to ask a lot of questions, huh? Okay, my turn. What are you?"
The strangest thing about her was probably her voice. And it was no surprise that the boy had doubled back. Though she appeared little an insignificant, she spoke in a way that commanded respect -- like a legendary war hero had been stuffed down her throat. Not something you see every day, but then again, you don't see a cat eared boy every day, either, so they were on equal terms. She wouldn't be surprised if he was also a ShinRa plaything.

The neko watched as she moved. She was indeed a dragon, but a small one. She seemed very feisty, and she didn’t seem to be scared of him. He watched her body move. She was a bit creepy, but he kept his cool. He couldn’t let this thing see that he was actually a little scared of her. He inched closer. He could tell that she was cocky, and that she thought that she was high and mighty. He hated people who were like that. It annoyed him so much, almost to the point where he would transform into his full neko form, and then she would be in big trouble.
He waited for her to finish answering his questions. She was a what? He had never heard of it before. There were many creatures on this huge land, but never had he seen or even heard of one like this. It honestly fascinated him. He wanted to get a closer look, but he knew better. She would probably whack him, or worse. He had heard the word ShinRa, and he cocked his head. “What the hell is a ShinRa? And no need to be rude. And yes, I do ask a lot of questions. In answer to your question, I’ll show you.”
He smiled at her. This was his moment to show her what he could really do. But then he second guessed himself. Maybe he shouldn’t show her, in case she was an enemy who was spying on her. She could get information on his abilities. “On second thought, I’m a bit tired. So I’ll only show you a little bit.” He backed up, and spread his arms wide open. He closed his eyes, and chanted something in Japanese. He glowed a bright blinding blue. He then opened his eyes. Ears stuck out of his head. A tail came out from his backside. He swished it, smiling at her. “I am a neko. This is only the first of my two forms. The other form I’ll save for later.” He smiled, crossing his arms. “So, what the hell are you doing way out here?” He frowned. Was she here by choice? Or by force?

The she-dragon hunkered down comfortably on the simi-thick branch supporting her, her long, slightly feline legs dangling lazy over each side as she watched the blue haired boy. A neko, was he? She'd never heard of anything like that, but this was a big world, and she was something of a homebody. Her eyes tracked him with animalistic intensity, flicking rapidly with every movement he made. It might have seemed rude, but she never bothered to learn mankind's customs, and he was just about the most interesting thing she'd seen in weeks.
"What the hell is a ShinRa?" Wait, what? Okay, he wasn't from around here, that was cool, but ShinRa's reign was pretty wide spread, so she was still surprised. A scaly brow lifted dubiously at the neko, and she stared at him as if expecting him to say he was just kidding.
"You really don't know?" she asked as soon as there was a momentary pause, "ShinRa is a corrupted monopoly of a business. They run everything here, and they almost killed the planet years ago, those bastards..." In the end, she was talking mostly to herself until her voice was little more than an inaudible rumble.
Estille straightened up, frill lifted with surprise at the appearance of sudden features that she was sure hadn't been there before. It was like he was a cat-man or something. So that's what a neko was, huh?
"Uh, interesting..." the lizard mumbled as she tried to figure out what she should be saying. What do you say to a guy with cat ears and a tail like that? She could just be hallucinating as a side effect from losing her materia, but that wasn't likely. Then he asked why she was here. He really shouldn't have. She would have liked it if he hadn't. Well, there was no harm in telling him, right? He could be a potential ally. Leaning forward, she arched her back menacingly, and her face became hard and calculating. "...I could tell you. But, do you promise not to tell anyone?"

Shiomi frowned. He watched her move and was fascinated by how she moved. She moved with grace, even though she was a reptile. He had always thought that reptiles moved with jerks and rugged movements, but he had been proven wrong. He watched the way she lay lazily on the branch. He smiled at her. He was very fascinated.
Shio frowned. What, did she expect him to know everything? Hell, he wasn’t even familiar with the universe yet. He had only been living in the one place for the past five years. He had never left this world, so how the hell was he supposed to know what a ShinRa was? He narrowed his eyes at her, annoyed. He was about to shoot out a comeback, but she then answered his question, and he raised an eyebrow. Apparently she didn’t like these ‘ShinRa’ of which she had spoken. He wondered why she hated them so much.
They sounded like a mean people. He didn’t like the sound of these people. She didn’t sound too fine with what he was. Again, he narrowed his eyes. “You got something against nekos?” He wasn’t sure what she was going to tell him in answer to his question of why she was out in the middle of nowhere. She seemed completely serious. He nodded. “I have no one to tell anyway…if you tell me, I’ll show you my true neko form.” It was true. He really had no one to tell. He had no friends. Sure, his classmates at school, but he never hung out with them outside of class. No one cared about him…
