Rufus has pale blond hair, that is slicked back with some hair hanging by the sides of his face, and blue eyes. His skin is fair, and he has a slim body build, even though he has good enough strength to hold his Shotgun in one hand.
Rufus wears a white suit coat, that is unbuttoned with a black three-belted vest over a white button-down shirt, with a black button-down shirt underneath that. He also wears white suit pants, with black dress shoes, to give more a business feel. He also appears to wear bandages around his neck and maybe even his chest after his run-in with the Diamond Weapon which he narrowly escaped, hence the bandages.
Personality: (Must be at least 2 paragraphs)
Rufus is an extremely intelligent man, and has shown it countless times. He has shown this intelligence by getting himself out of extreme conditions, where a normal human being would have very well perished. Along with this, he usually comes off as being completely heartless, due to the upbringing of his father, who wasn't exactly one of the best parents in the world. His father believed that it would be better for his son to learn about his company, rather than be cuddled like a normal child. So, he mostly always show the unemotional side, opting for a more business like approach that will allow him to be focused on the task at hand.
Seeing as how Rufus is not the emotional type, he has never been shown to cry, and Aerith even stated that it seemed that no one had ever seen him cry or bleed. This allows him to keep a leveled head, which helps him in any situation, whether it be looking over documents or falling off a building. He is also arrogant thinking that he is untouchable, and it is most likely his upbringing that brought along this belief. Though he did live a pompish lifestyle, he has never shown a "rich kid" stereotype personality. Instead of throwing a tantrum to get what he wants, he will work for it, no matter how hard the task may be.
Rufus isn't lazy. He will get done what needs to be done, and rely on his Turks to help him with his goal whenever the time may ask for it. Though he does seem to show that he is genuinely sorry for what ShinRa has done in the past, and wishes to atone for it, he still wishes for ShinRa to become as powerful as it can be, and will not stop until his goal has truly become reality.
History: (Must be at least 3 paragraphs)
Before Crisis:
"He is the main financier for the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, and feeds them key information to allow for their success. Along with the other Shinra executives, Rufus takes part in meetings and strategy, and has special access to his father, personally discussing key issues as the second-in-command. Rufus has no interest in the Planet or its fate while funding AVALANCHE, rather, he was using the organization as a way to take power from his father. It is obvious early in Before Crisis that Shinra has a traitor, but it it not revealed to be Rufus until Episode 14 in Wutai. The Turks capture him in Episode 16 during the attack on the Old Corel. The Turks use Rufus as leverage with President Shinra so that they can save their commander Veld, and his daughter, Elfé, the AVALANCHE's commander. Afterward, Rufus is neither killed nor stripped of his title for being a traitor. President Shinra orders him to be placed under house arrest in Junon. His absence is explained by claiming he is on an "extended assignment overseas". President Shinra eventually saves him while the Turks are out searching for the support Materia and attempting to rescue Veld. Before the Turks are ordered to be executed for insubordination, Rufus interrupts and announces the Turks should be spared since Tseng "assassinated" Veld and Elfé."
Final Fantasy 7:
"During Sephiroth's attack on Shinra Headquarters in Midgar, the Shinra executive Palmer calls Junon for help. Rufus responds by hopping on a helicopter to Midgar to take command of the company. By the time he arrives, mostly everyone in the building is dead, including President Shinra, Rufus's father.
After a brief fight against Cloud Strife, during which he uses a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun and is accompanied by his Guard Hound, Dark Nation, Rufus flees the building. It is eventually restored and Rufus resumes normal operations as the President of the Shinra Corporation.
Rufus decides to go after Sephiroth, and follows him across the Planet with an entourage of Shinra executives. The next time Rufus is seen by AVALANCHE is when they board his cargo ship from Junon to Costa del Sol. He never interacts with them. His attempts to take control of Cid Highwind's Tiny Bronco airplane are foiled when Cloud's crew help the pilot escape in said plane.
Rufus is encountered again when Cloud confronts him at the Northern Crater, which Shinra believes to be the Promised Land. Afterward, he tries to have Tifa Lockhart and Barret Wallace publicly executed to help calm the panic from Sephiroth's summoned Meteor. His plans are foiled when Sapphire Weapon attacks Junon and causes enough confusion for the two to escape on the Highwind.
Rufus is seen one last time in Final Fantasy VII when he has the Sister Ray cannon moved from Junon to Midgar in order to destroy Diamond Weapon and the barrier surrounding Sephiroth. As he launches the cannon, Diamond Weapon launches its own attack on Midgar, which hits on-level with the President's office, from which he is overseeing the operation. Due to the damage, no one can reach the office to find a body, so he is presumed dead. However, he "ducked". The opening of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- further reveals he was alive, being loaded into the helicopter during Meteorfall."
Advent Children:
"Rufus reveals himself to Cloud and that he was under the Turks' protection for the two year period, living with them in the Healen Lodge in a wheelchair, covered by a white sheet which is supposedly hiding his Geostigma, being in the disease's final stages. Seemingly reformed and renouncing his past cruelty, Rufus explains his near-death experience opened his eyes to the truth and now desires to undo the chaos his company brought onto the world. Near the movie's climax, he backs up his resolve as he removes the sheet and stands from the wheelchair. The sheet seems to have only been around him to hide the head of Jenova from Kadaj. Rufus has something of a shootout with the villain after throwing the container off the ledge with him and Kadaj plunges after it. Like most of the characters, Rufus is cured of Geostigma at the end, prolonging the life of the Shinra family and Rufus's chance for further redemption."

Role Play Sample: (must be for the character you are applying for at least one paragraph)
Rufus entered the President's Office, his office, in his white, and slightly black business garb. Papers were in his hand, and he couldn't help but notice the copious amounts of the same material, that were stacked and lying neatly on his desk. He let out a slight sigh of exasperation, but his face didn't change expression, and he really didn't mind. He liked the work. It kept him busy, and his mind busy as well. He sat down, and scanned the piles trying to see if anything interesting in their contents would catch his interest. He succeeded.
They were statements on the PSICOM that many of the people of Edge were talking about. Even to Rufus, PSICOM remained a mystery as to why they were there. Didn't they hunt down something called a l'Cie in a completely other world? If so, then why were they there? There were no such l'Cie in Edge, or even Gaia, that he knew of...right? There were so many questions to be asked, and Rufus liked answers, not unanswered questions that riddled his mind with countless thoughts. He would have to get the Turks moving on that. Maybe...even see if he could get the assistance of Cloud and his friends, they always seemed to be able to find the answers when either him, the Turks, or both couldn't. But, that decision would be the last resort. He would send out his Turks first, before turning to them.
The next question was, who to send out? Reno and Rude? Sure, the two partners did serve their purpose as Turks, but Reno was the kind to talk too much, and in some situations, Rufus could not have that. Rude would be a good choice. He had the strength that would be needed to get the answers, but as usual he stuck with Reno. Still, it was an option. Elena and Tseng would be another good choice. They had enough dedication to being a Turk and assisting with ShinRa that they would bring back what he was looking for, but he needed someone that could easily go up to people and ask what he needed to know...Cissnei...the Turk who he had recently allowed to come back to ShinRa...she could always be a good choice...
Rufus let out another small sigh, before placing the papers that were associated with the PSICOM to the side with a few others. Problems that would take time. He could get rid of the obvious ones, and the others that wouldn't take as much time and thinking, before setting his mind back on to the task that was recently at hand...Figuring out why the PSICOM were here, and what they were after.
(Critcism and comments would be nice on this piece so that it could help me understand just a little bit more on character and such. Thank you. =3)
