the - DEDICATED - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To say Elena wasn't all that pleased was an understatement. A serious understatement. There was nothing she could say about it though, because she didn't want to refuse a mission, especially since it was Tseng that asked her. Maybe it was a flaw for her always trying to make a good impression on Tseng, but she couldn't help it. It just came naturally now after all these years. She had spent her whole life trying to stand out and prove herself, and even now that her sister wasn't around, she was still trying to impress people. It got rather tiresome sometimes, she had to admit, but she had been doing it for so long now that it had just become second-nature, almost.
Shaking her head to herself, she walked briskly back to her office to prepare for the mission she was being sent on. They would be leaving in about twenty minutes. She grabbed her gloves from where they lay on her desk, and put them in her pocket. She put her handgun in its holster inside her suit jacket, before sighing and running a hand through her hair. Out of everyone I could have gone with... she thought fairly bitterly to herself. She was determined to do her best, but why did it have to be...him going with her?
A frown tugged at Elena's lips. Reno Sinclair. When it really came down to it, she did care about Reno, just as she did about the other Turks, but a lot of the time he made that very difficult for her, and she had to refrain from strangling him. It was clear he got to where he was because he was good at his job, there was no denying that much, but she just wished he would take things a little more seriously sometimes. Well, that and the fact he seemed to like annoying her way too much for her liking.
Absently fixing her blonde hair that was almost exactly like her sister's had been, since running her hand through it had messed it up a little, she started out the door of her office and down the hallway. She was dreading this. All she could hope for was this mission going quickly and smoothly, so they could get back to headquarters as soon as possible. However, since when did something like that happen? And Elena had never had much luck either... With her luck, things would get complicated or dangerous, or something would go wrong, and they would end up having to work a lot longer than they had planned to.
As she neared the landing pad the helicopter would be on, Elena was kicking herself for not having grabbed some coffee on the way up. Some caffiene could have really helped right about now. She could only hope that Reno would at least be tolerable for this mission, but since when was that likely to happen either?
It's going to be a long day...

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Well, Reno could tell today was going to be SUPER fun. Not. Reno liked practically everyone in ShinRa…well the Turks to be more specific, except there were some people he just didn’t get along with as well as others. For instance, he could work with Cissnei and Rude every day for the rest of his life…but Elena…that would probably result in a murder. She would probably end up killing him one day anyway, why fuel the fire by being partnered together on missions? Because Tseng had assigned it and Reno wouldn’t object to it…to Tseng at least. He’d complain to anyone who cared…which was no one at the moment, so with a look at the near future, Him and Elena bickering nonstop, Reno decided to suck it up and deal with it. It was one little mission right? It wasn’t one that was going to last a week or anything…was it?
That thought made him shudder as he meandered through the halls of the ShinRa building. A cup of coffee in his hands as he just shook his head and walked as slow as possible towards the helicopter landing pad area. He was not looking forward to getting his head chewed off by Elena calling him ‘immature’ or anything like that. Perhaps he should just show her up? Be quiet and precise with everything he did? Nah, he was going to be himself, and if she didn’t like it, well then she’d have to deal. Of course Reno did get some entertainment out of irritating Elena a bit, her reactions were just too funny to him, and for that he kept doing it. Like the prank calls and what not to her cell phone…those were the best. Hopefully that wouldn’t be mentioned or anything like that today…he didn’t want to get slapped on the job.
With a heavy sigh, Reno made his way to the door that led out to the landing pad. He ran his fingers through his bright red hair before pushing the door open and walking out to see the helicopter there, and a certain blond in the area…the one he would have to call ‘partner’ for the day. He could only imagine the lack of conversation they would have…if it were Cissnei, there would be nonstop talking, even with Rude! Except Reno would be the one doing all the talking then. This was just going to be weird, simple as that. ‘Why do I get assigned missions like these.’ He said putting on a grin and just walking up to Elena, acting as cheerful as ever. Perhaps they’d be on each other’s good side for the day? Doubt it.
Reno stood beside Elena a minute before actually speaking. “Good morning.” He simply said before finishing off his coffee and tossing the empty cup into a nearby trash can before he straightened his jacket and looked off at the helicopter. “So…are you all ready to go?” he said raising an eyebrow and folding his arms across his chest as his eyes glanced over at Elena. For now, he wouldn’t be irritating, he would save that entertainment for later, besides, it was morning, no need to make someone cranky when its early. Maybe today wouldn’t be a complete disaster, maybe Elena would lighten up a bit, or Reno just wouldn’t be as ‘annoying’ and stick to the task at hand. But Elena did have the correct thought…it was going to be a long day, and Reno knew it just as well as she did.Words: 677 Muse: Good Tagged: Elena Notes: Sorry its kinda short v.v

the - DEDICATED - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elena ended up playing with the ends of her short blonde hair, with her other arm crossed over her chest. Reno wasn’t late at all, in fact she was a few minutes early, but she was anxious for him to get there already, just so they could hurry up and get this over with. She clucked her tongue on the roof of her mouth a little impatiently as she stood there, moving her hand from her hair and crossing it over her chest also. Even though she knew she had everything, she found herself double-checking she had everything she would need, purely for something to do.
In the name of the Lifestream, Elena hoped that they wouldn’t get stuck anywhere together overnight. Now that would be a hellish way for the mission to go. Ordinarily, she wouldn’t mind all that much about a mission lengthening by a day or two, but she really didn’t want that to happen with this one. Perhaps she was being a little too harsh in her thinking, but it was probably because she wasn’t looking forward to this mission at all. She wasn’t used to dealing with Reno’s antics as much as the others, she supposed, because she had only been a Turk for about three years now and she was usually paired up with Tseng on missions, and occasionally Rude, so she was used to a slightly quieter and more professional atmosphere.
God, how I wished it was one of those two I was going with instead…
Thinking about the fact that she had only been a Turk for about three years made her scrunch up her nose slightly in a feeling very much like annoyance. She knew that she was probably seen as ‘inexperienced’ by some people, but she sure as hell got the job done. She was good at what she did, and after earning those five Elite Emblems from the ShinRa Military Academy, no one could really doubt her skills either. But if it wasn’t for the fact she was somewhat of a prodigy, Elena knew that she would have been looked down on. Her teeth grazed over her bottom lip as her sister crossed her mind, but then she shook the thought away, just before Reno strolled into view.
He was silent for a moment before he greeted her. “Morning,” she said in return, being polite, because as much as she was annoyed by the thought of this mission, she didn’t want to be the one to start things off on a bad note. Her eyes were slightly narrowed, however. She hadn’t forgotten about that prank message he left on her voicemail a couple of days previous, but she would get to that later… For now, there was work to attend to.
“So…are you all ready to go?”
Quite frankly, Elena was a little surprised that something annoying or a joke hadn’t been said yet. Only a matter of time though, I guess. She nodded in response. “Ready and waiting,” she said, although it wasn’t meant as a dig at him because she had gotten there before him. No, she wasn’t going to be the one to start things down a bad track, unless he really annoyed her, and then… well, things would pretty much be like usual. With a jerk of her head towards the helicopter as though to say “shall we get going?”, she turned and climbed aboard the ’copter and sat down in her seat, putting on the headphones. If it wasn’t for the fact she actually trusted Reno’s piloting skills, she would have been dreading this a hell of a lot more.

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early To keep it short, sweet, and to the point….Today was not going to be fun. And Reno could agree with that 100%, he wasn’t going to be blunt about it or anything but still…he knew it would end up being a total disaster, and knowing his luck, they’d get stuck someplace and not get out for weeks! That was a horror story waiting to happen. Why couldn’t this mission have been Reno and Rude as usual? Or even Cissnei? Both options would’ve been more fun than Elena, no offense to her or anything, but Reno didn’t feel like he could joke or anything without irritating her…but he did it anyway, partially because it did indeed annoy her, and he found that awfully amusing.
Walking upon the platform, Reno noticed Elena was already, was he late? He hoped not, or else he was sure to hear something about it, but so far he hadn’t heard anything, maybe that was a good sign. He just walked up to her and greeted her, and to his surprise she greeted him back, and politely too. It was nice, so the hopes of it being a good day were a little brighter, but still no promises. He figured, for now, he wouldn’t be irritating, but later if he felt the urge to crack a joke or two, he wouldn’t hold the opportunity back, maybe he’d actually think of something and make Elena smile or laugh…that was a long shot, but a hope none the less. He just wished the two were on better terms, maybe this could change all that…nope probably not, no life changing missions for Reno or Elena! At least not today. After she said ‘morning’ back to him he simply nodded at her acknowledging her returning greet.
Ready and waiting…so maybe Reno had been a few minutes late, or she was just ready to get going. With a small sigh he nodded and tried to be the nicest he could. Today was just going to be one of those days where you may not want to do something, but you would just grin and bear it and suffer alongside your partner. But thus far, nothing horrible had happened…though they had only been together for what…3 minutes? If even that. When Elena jerked her head towards the helicopter, Reno got the idea. It was time to go and get things taken care of before the day was wasted…the sooner this was taken care of, the better. Perhaps there would be time at the end of the day to hang out with Cissnei or Rude? That was a good thought that would get him through the day hopefully.
Reno watched as Elena walked over to the helicopter and climbed in, headphones on and she was ready to go. Reno made his strides long as he didn’t want her to have to wait on him being slow or anything. He got into the chopper and put on his own headphones before the engine roared to life as the propeller on top started swirling. Waiting for the helicopter to warm up a bit Reno sort of sulked into his seat, his ‘nice guy’ act today was going to probably irritate him more than anything…but that was okay, he was used to having to play that nice guy a lot, not that he wasn’t a nice guy or anything…but you can only take so much with a smile and really accept it. “So…it’s been awhile since we’ve been paired together for a mission…” he said starting up small talk…really small talk. Maybe it’d break the ice of silence they both had towards eachother.Words: 689 Muse: Good Tagged: Elena Notes: None

the - DEDICATED - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elena was almost just waiting on the comments and jokes and smirks to start any moment now. She was practically bracing herself and she knew she would grimace if he said anything of the sort. By this point, she was really wishing that she had thought to grab some coffee before they started the mission. ‘By this point’...we’ve only been in each other’s presence for a few minutes! Sometimes she considered it rather ridiculous how she and Reno didn’t really get along. Of course, it wasn’t that she didn’t like him, she just found him a little annoying most of the time.
However, she cared for him just as she cared for the other Turks. They were her family now, more so than her own sister, who she hadn’t spoken to in a long time. Despite the fact that her sister had used to be a Turk, Elena still considered the other Turks more like family, and they weren’t even blood related. Her sister had always been the source of Elena’s own insecurities and her sister had made her feel inferior. Hell, she knew even their father had preferred her sister over her. She had just been the clumsy one; the one that got in the way or got in trouble.
“So...it’s been a while since we’ve been paired together for a mission...”
Elena nodded her head. “Yeah...” She paused, trying to think when the last one was. “The last time was when it was me, you, Rude and Tseng at the Northern Cave...” Her voice trailed off rather abruptly before she could mention the Remnants. Thinking about that time always made her remember the pain she had felt and the fear she had felt, not just for herself but also for Tseng. She’d had nightmares about it a few times since it had happened, but those were few and far between now then they had been after the Remnants and Sephiroth had been defeated. There had been plenty of nights back then when she had woken up in a cold sweat, once even screaming.
She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts and turned to look at Reno, raising one eyebrow slightly. “No wise cracks today?” she asked quietly, although it was definitely loud enough for him to hear, she knew. It seemed completely alien and foreign to Elena that Reno hadn’t made one single comment so far, and frankly she was a little surprised and taken aback. Thinking about it now, perhaps she shouldn’t have said anything at all now, because she might have just opened a flood gate, so to speak. Either that or he would be annoyed instead of her, which would be quite a welcome change, in her opinion. Although, that might make for more, slightly different, comments as well.
The amount of thoughts going around her head at once right now were confusing her, and part of her wished that she had just said nothing now, if only because she wouldn’t have this amount of thoughts if she hadn’t. Her dark brown eyes scanned over the scenery around and below them instead, her lips pursed together.

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno decided it was too early to start any jokes or annoyances for now. But that wouldn’t stop him later, in fact he looked forward to it. To see the look on Elena’s face as she got irritated with him…he got that look a lot from her. They really didn’t get along all that well, but for ShinRa’s sake, they learned to suck it up and deal with it. At least that was how Reno saw it, he also figured that one day Elena would kill him in his sleep for all the pranks he decided to pull on her and everyone else in the ShinRa building. People needed to lighten up around there, have some fun, live life to the fullest and let loose a little bit! Jokes were definitely necessary, perhaps one day he and Elena would be more like friends? Instead of at each other’s throats about being either too immature or a workaholic, that didn’t seem likely.
Thinking back on that last mission they had together, it wasn’t very fun. Those Remnants had caused a lot of trouble. Reno and Rude had to deal with Yazoo and Loz and that wasn’t fun, but to say that the two Turks put up a good fight, it was pretty incredible what they did. And in the very end, that bomb might have been the thing that gave Cloud more time to go after Kadaj. They really had been significant in the battle against the remnants. All and all, a horrible mission. “Yeah…” he said rubbing the back of his head with one hand and keeping a hand on the helicopter controls with the other. “Those were some fun times…” he said sarcastically with a small chuckle before putting both hands back on the controls and letting the helicopter take flight, taking them wherever they needed to be.
So…she asked about wise cracks huh? Reno narrowed his eyes as a mischievous grin crossed his face. He stared forward out the windshield as the wheels in his head began to turn. “Wise cracks…” he repeated softly to himself, not answering her question. Oh he was definitely thinking of something. He just remained silent while he continued to fly the helicopter before a really REALLY lame joke popped into his head, the perfect way to start things off today. Lame jokes were epic wins in his book. As silence filled the air, Reno figured this was the best time to start his joke. He glanced over at Elena and snickered a bit, oh how he was glad he didn’t answer that question of hers. “So Elena…how do you confused a blonde?” he started, almost waiting for the yelling to start. Oh the jokes! “Tell her to alphabetize a bag of M&M’s…” he chuckled before adding on. “Why does it work….Well does 3 come before E? or does it go between M and W?” and with that he started laughing, oh Reno must have a death wish. the - DEDICATED - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Elena really hoped that this silent and kind of pleasant behaviour would continue for at least a while. As long as Reno didn’t say anything stupid or annoying, she wasn’t going to say anything either. She wasn’t going to be the first one to start the bickering without a good reason, at least, because she didn’t want to be the one that the finger of blame could be pointed at. There was no way she was going to give Reno the satisfaction of saying something like “Well, you started it!”, or something else along those lines. Today is really going to be long...
“Yeah... Those were some fun times...”
She pursed her lips and gave a short nod and a roll of her eyes, making a small sarcastic “Mm,” sound in agreement. She moved her gaze to the window and the scenery as she got a little lost in her thoughts. What had happened had been horrible. Those Remnants... She suppressed a shudder as she thought of the silver-haired beings. She really never wanted to see any of them again, or Sephiroth either. She’d heard the rumours of course that Sephiroth was back, and his Remnants probably were too if that was the case. The thought didn’t sit well with her at all. Just thinking about what had happened, and the torture that she and Tseng had went through, was enough to make her feel slightly sick.
Elena had also felt rather useless throughout the whole thing, even if she and Tseng had been too injured to do much until things were almost over. She didn’t like just sitting by and waiting and letting other people deal with things on their own. Especially not if it was something as big as dealing with Sephiroth’s Remnants and Sephiroth himself. Reno and Rude had played a more central role to things, and Elena was slightly bitter about that. She didn’t like being out of action, and there was also the fact that she was sat there being useless as well as being worried about Reno and Rude’s well-being. As much as the redhead was irritating, she still cared about what happened to him.
“Wise cracks...”
Elena almost visibly twitched at that. She prayed that Reno wasn’t about to start up with the wise-cracks and jokes now, because of what she said. Oh, she didn’t want to be the one that put ideas in his head... It had been nice and quiet, albeit slightly awkward, so far but that had been fine. There was no need for anything to start now, not with them not even having been on their mission yet. On the way back would have been fine...just please not n -
“So Elena...how do you confuse a blonde?”
Her brow furrowed slightly as she frowned. Oh Reno, don’t you dare say what I think you’re going-
“Tell her to alphabetize a bag of M&M’s... Why does it work... Well does 3 come before E? Or does it go between M and W?”
....You did.
Elena’s annoyance was plainly written across her face. She took a deep breath and tried to calm down a little, but the redheaded idiot beside her seemed to think that his little joke was the most hilarious thing in the world. Her temper was now rising, and she clenched her teeth together. She was trying her hardest to remain calm, she really was, but it just wasn’t working. Deep breaths weren’t working, counting to ten wasn’t working. Thinking of happier things wasn’t working either because that just made her more annoyed that she was stuck here with Reno instead of paired with someone else or doing something else.
And that laugh is so damn ANNOYING!
Elena quickly reached one hand over as he was still laughing and smacked him upside the head, although not hard enough to disturb his piloting but still hard enough to hurt a little. “Oh, just you wait until we land, Reno Sinclair.” Yes, she was using his full name...which really meant she was annoyed with him. She breathed harshly through her nose, before speaking again. “Consider yourself lucky, for now, that that was all you got.” Her eyes were narrowed slightly in a glare. “Can I ask why exactly you always feel the need to crack jokes like that!?” She honestly couldn’t see the point in it, but then again, he probably behaved worse and cracked more stupid jokes around her on purpose.

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early This was going to get ugly REALLY fast. Reno didn’t mind though, he enjoyed his jokes and sort of was amused by Elena’s reactions every time. They made him want to laugh but he knew that would only make her more angry than she was about to be, so he would resist the urge to burst out laughing and maybe just chuckle a little at her response, though hopefully she didn’t murder him while they were in midair. Of course, maybe the choice of joke wasn’t great, a blonde joke…when sitting next to him was indeed a blonde. Of course the reaction was going to be even greater and Reno just couldn’t resist himself, he was immature at some times yes, this was one of those moments.
Okay, so not laughing failed, Reno was laughing, he glanced over at Elena and the look on her face made his laugh quiet down as it screamed ‘you’re dead’. Oh Reno was digging his own grave, but still that was too funny to resist! Elena needed to lighten up a bit! Moving his eyes back to the skies ahead of him, Reno then felt a hand hit him in the back of the head, not too hard, but not soft either. He stayed concentrated as one hand went back to rub the back of his head. “Alright that was fair fighting right there….” He said in a humorous tone before she started talking about what would happen when they landed. It was a good thing Reno was fast, he would know to run when he hopped out of the helicopter, of course, Elena could just shoot him.
Using his full name, Reno knew he was in trouble. It was like being a kid again, when the adults called you by your full name, you knew something bad was about to happen, of course Reno didn’t have a bed or closet to hide in right now. He would just have to take it like a man and deal with whatever beatings Elena would throw at him. Reno rolled his eyes some at Elena’s words and sighed. “You really have to learn how to lighten up! Live a little! Don’t take EVERYTHING so seriously!” And so the bickering was initiated, and it was bound to last until they got back to the ShinRa building. Lovely.
“I enjoy life?” Reno said hesitantly as she asked why he insisted on telling such jokes, of course here came another one. He glanced over at Elena with a grin on his face. “and I like to laugh in the face of danger” he said with a quiet chuckle under his breath as he probably just pissed her off even more. If Reno wasn’t piloting, he would probably be 6 feet under right about now, of course, at this rate, he would be digging himself an even deeper grave. “Get a grip Elena, stop being so serious sheesh! It was just a joke!” He said almost wondering if he wanted to land now.Words: 592 Muse: Meh, it was goodish Tagged: Elena Notes: v.v sorry for its utter crappy-ness

the - DEDICATED - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The fact that Reno had used a blonde joke was what had gotten her this annoyed. If it had been a normal joke, she wouldn’t have reacted quite this way, but it hadn’t been. She’d had to not only insult her hair colour, but also her intelligence, as well as practically every other blonde out there too. She was pretty sure that the likes of Rufus or Cloud wouldn’t let a joke like that slide either. Personally, she hated blonde jokes, and had heard countless ones over the years, and she still found them not only annoying, but also very insulting. Not to mention that a lot of them could also be rather vulgar. Reno had really pressed the wrong buttons here, and she wasn’t about to let this slide easily.
“Alright that was fair fighting right there...”
She scowled. “Don’t push me, Sinclair,” she said, now reverting to just using his surname instead of his full name. With each second that passed, she was getting more and more annoyed at him. This really was going to be a mission from hell, and she could only hope and pray that they could get it over with quickly and just get back to Edge before they ended up killing each other. “I’ll show you fair fighting when we’re on the ground.” Of course, Reno was faster and more experienced that she was, but she was pretty confident that if they ever did end up in some sort of physical fight that she would be able to put up a good fight. She may have been smaller than him, but she could certainly pack a punch when she wanted to.
“You really have to learn to lighten up! Live a little! Don’t take EVERYTHING so seriously!”
That comment...stung a little.
Elena blinked slightly, before the previous annoyed expression appeared back on her face and the quick flash of hurt in her eyes vanished. It wasn’t exactly her fault that she was so tightly wound that she took everything seriously. It was to do with the way she had been brought up, both with her father and with the ShinRa Military Academy. Her constantly being compared to her sister and always hearing how much better Gun was didn’t help matters any either. Elena was just the clumsy younger sister that no one had cared about, not even her own father. “Well excuse me for not thinking that making jokes and goofing around is ‘living a little’,” she said, before gritting her teeth slightly. Although, truthfully, she wasn’t sure exactly what ‘living a little’ was, thanks to never really having had any freedom as a child or a teenager.
“I enjoy life? And I like to laugh in the face of danger.”
Still frowning, Elena wanted to reach over and smack him again, just to get that stupid grin off his face. When he spoke the latter, she made an annoyed “ugh” sound, and glared at him. He was still laughing!? Looks like he has a death wish, she thought to herself. She hadn’t thought it was possible for him to get even more infuriating than he had already been so far, but here she was now, having been proved wrong. It looked like Reno really wanted to die, or at least get seriously injured, today.
“Get a grip Elena, stop being so serious sheesh! It was just a joke!”
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she ignored the fact that his words were still stinging. She managed to keep her temper under control, with a bit of effort. She could wait. “A joke? Oh sure, because basically insulting a hair colour, and that persons intelligence, can always be taken as a joke,” she said sarcastically, shifting slightly in her seat so she was facing him a little better instead of having to turn her head all the way to the side. “What about your hair, hm? What if I were to call you ‘Ginger’ for the rest of this mission, or perhaps even longer, because I know that annoys you!” she snapped, before turning back around to face the front.
A few seconds ticked by, and Elena was still angry. Her brown eyes glanced back at him again as she continued to frown, and an idea came to her, even if she didn’t know if it was a good one or not. If he can make fun of my hair colour, then I can make fun of his. Fair is fair. Shifting in her seat again, she turned back around to face him more. “Alright, Ginger. You want jokes, you got them.” She pursed her lips for a second before she spoke again. “How do you get a redhead’s mood to change? Wait ten seconds. What’s safer: a redhead or a piranha? The piranha, because they only attack in schools. What do you call a redhead with an attitude? Normal. How many redheads does it take to screw in a lightbulb? One – they hold the bulb while the world revolves around them.” And as a final dig? “Oh, and uh...you totally crashed that helicopter. Don’t say you never.”

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno didn’t mean anything by his joke, in fact, he didn’t even think about the fact that it might irritate Elena because it was a blond joke…okay so just kidding, he knew that would irritate her to no end. But he had to quit it, he quieted down his chuckled and just let a smile twitch on the corners of his mouth as he felt her angry stare burning into his head. Using the last name? Oh he was so in trouble, his face twisted a bit as he held back his snickers, there were those days where he acted like some troublesome kid…that was Reno for you! And with silent snickers he didn’t dare look at Elena for now as he figured, flying or not, she could probably give him a good bruise to the face if she really wanted to. “Someone’s angry…” he said almost bursting out laughing into a frenzy once again, but he held his composure and managed to not fuel the flames right now.
Yes, it was known to everyone that neither Reno or Elena liked each other that much, but usually they could handle it and be mature about things, of course today just might not end well. Reno could get a good beating from Elena seeing as he wouldn’t ever hit her, or any other girl around the Turks, and Reno would just crack off more jokes. He was just trying to lighten the mood…escape the boredom of silence and riding in the chopper. Elena was just too serious! And yes, Reno was pretty immature sometimes, but he could be mature at times as well! Sometimes there was a limit on how mature or immature one should be…they both probably crossed the lines of those limits. Reno being too immature for his age at times and Elena just being…too serious for life!
When she was griping about her being sorry for not ‘living a little’, as Reno didn’t look at her he simply rolled his eyes at her comment. “Come on Elena lighten up for once…” he said in a glum tone, his humorous mood dying by the very second and sending him back to being quiet and just focusing on flying the helicopter. Well, that was a good mood wasted and a funny joke that was brushed off as…immature. Though it really was. Reno just sat there with his hands on the controls, his eyes out the windshield, and his mouth shut for once. After all was said and done, he just sat there keeping quiet, not wanting to put himself against Elena anymore than he already was, she probably was going to slap him or something once they landed as it was. But something caught his attention…something he would’ve NEVER expected from someone…and from Elena of all people!!
Before the comments spilled away from Elena like a waterfall, Reno sighed. “I didn’t mean to insult you or your intelligence…if it means anything…you’re pretty smart…and…blondes are cool.” He said a little hesitantly, giving her a compliment was a little out of the norm, but maybe it would ease the tension a bit? Not make her want to punch his face in or anything like that? Oh no…but then it came…pure payback. Reno was shocked to hear the slams against red heads…especially that one word that bugged him more than anything in the world. ’GINGER?! Did she really just call me a GINGER?!’ he thought to himself as all her comments registered in his head. Okay so maybe jokes about hair color wasn’t exactly the smartest idea, at least with Elena around. She sure could slam them back.
Reno was so dumbfounded he really didn’t know what to say, of course that last comment irritated him quite a bit. Sure there had been some…problems with the helicopter issue before and Reno didn’t like bringing it up, he was a great pilot! No one had to question it, everyone had their off days right? Letting out a deep breath he cracked a smile onto his face and glanced over at Elena, who still seemed to be a bit steamed. “Wow Elena…I didn’t know you had that type of power in you…I’ll learn to think my jokes through knowing you can spill’em right back eh?” He said with his grin twitching on his lips as he looked back forward and finally decided no more jokes today…and as that was said and done, he looked down a bit and nodded to himself before the helicopter started to descend to their landing point. Mission time…after Elena probably gets a few good swings at Reno. Words: 881 Muse: Good Tagged: Elena Notes: lol I loved your last post!
