the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 10am. The new ShinRa building wasn’t filled with workers, but there was a fair amount, given the fact that many workers never returned to the company. Rude sat in his office, silent as ever, finishing off a mission report that he would have to hand in later. Despite being indoors, the dark sunglasses perched on his nose that almost seemed to be a permanent feature on his face remained where they were.
He had just gotten back from a small-time mission the previous night, having been gone a couple of days, but only because of the distance he had to travel. It felt good to be back at ShinRa, he had to admit, but he couldn’t deny that a little while without Reno’s near incessant chatter was a nice break. As much as he cared about his partner, a little ‘away time’ was always nice. He wasn’t as talkative as the other Turks, but he had always had a rather quiet disposition, ever since he was a child.
The quiet was something that he could appreciate, especially because it was often short-lived nowadays. He didn’t mind the noise of others, or the general noise of the hustle and bustle around Edge, but quiet enabled him to think; really think, and not just about work or missions. However, it was inevitable that the silence he was currently in was going to end – most likely by a specific redhead. Only a matter of time… he thought to himself.
It was barely noticeable at all, but the corners of his lips turned up just the slightest bit. He probably wouldn’t admit it out loud, but whenever he and Reno were sent on separate missions, he did miss the redheaded idiot. And his incessant talking. Something just didn’t feel right sometimes about being alone and in complete silence, no matter how much he savoured it. Perhaps it was to do with just how long he and Reno had known each other, and how they were practically like brothers.
Besides, he mused, Ever since the other Turks left, there was only four of us for a long time… Perhaps that was what had made them all a little closer, he supposed. With a small “Hmm” noise, he finished up the report and set it aside with some other completed paperwork on his neatly arranged desk. However, just then, like he had been thinking moments before, his peace seemed to be getting interrupted as the door to his office opened.

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." The hallway was empty as the young woman made her way down the hallways that seemed to go on forever, a spiderweb of hallways. As she passed the room which was called the main entrance, Cissnei paused and went to overlook the activity that went on below her. She had only recently come back, two days before she been accepted back to become one of the Turks. Why? She had asked herself that same question many times in the past few months. Why would she want to come back to the place she had managed to get away from? She wasn't sure, it might have had something to do with the fact that she had practically been raised by ShinRa.
She couldn't even remember what her family had looked like before they had died. That was something that always made her withdraw and become quiet and reserved, like she did whenever she thought of them. But after being raised in ShinRa, the Turks had become the only family she knew. To turn her back on them had been a hard decision to make when she left after the death of Zack Fair. For years she had been in the real world and tried to be normal like everyone else. But it hadn't worked. Having grown up in ShinRa, being a Turk at such a young age, she wouldn't believe the crap everyone else was fed.
When the government said that there was an accident involving nuclear something or another would make everyone sigh in relief, but she knew better. She just knew things! She knew that when something bad happened it was worse then the public thought. She heard things, saw things that normal people didn't. Plus the fact that anyone of her co-workers that thought they were tough guys didn't know she could lay them out flat in a matter of seconds. All that had to be kept a secret, and so here she was, back to the only place she really knew. All Turks, no matter how long they had been a Turk, always thought of their fellow Turks as family.
Now Cissnei was paying a visit to a Turk she had always thought of as an older brother. Rude. She shrugged her shoulders, turned and walked away from looking out at people. In a few minutes she was at Rude's office. Cissnei stopped walking and just stood looking at the door. Would he even remember her? Raising a hand to knock, she suddenly shook her head. She shouldn't have to knock. He probably wasn't even there...with a small shrug she clasped the door handle and twisting her wrist, opened the door with a light push. Clearing her throat, Cissnei walked into the office. Crimson eyes moved around the office before settling on the brawny man...so he was here. “Hi Rude.” Words: 568 Muse: meh Notes: SO EXCITED FOR TURK THREAD!

the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude was almost certain he knew who it was that was due to come bounding in the doorway, but as he looked up and the door opened wider, he realised he was way off, which didn't happen very often. Cissnei stood in his doorway, and he found himself slightly surprised, even if it didn't exactly show on his face. He had heard she was back, of course, but he hadn't gotten to see her yet. If he was the type to let emotions display freely upon his face, he was sure he would have been grinning from ear to ear at the sight of her.
He was also pretty sure that if it wasn't for his shades, Cissnei would be able to see a hint of the surprise he felt in his eyes. Perhaps that was part of the reason why he even wore the sunglasses. Isn't it said that the eyes are the window to the soul? As a Turk, in some situations, emotions were a dangerous thing, which was most likely why it was best to hide them. And Rude's way of doing that? The sunglasses. The training ShinRa had given him since he was young had taught him to control the emotions on his face, but the eyes were always the hardest to keep emotion from.
"Hi Rude."
For a split second, Rude couldn't do anything, which perhaps gave away slightly that he was surprised, but he eventually spoke. “Cissnei,” he said in his deep voice, but he stopped after that, at a loss of what exactly to say. After all, talking had never been his strong point...he normally left all the talking to Reno. So instead of saying anything more, he got up out of his desk chair and walked over towards Cissnei. He paused for a moment, before pulling the petite girl into a hug.
He had missed her, quite a bit. All the Turks were like family, after all, but Cissnei was the first one of the girls that really felt like a sister to him. Elena was like a little sister to him too, of course, but he had known Cissnei a lot longer. The hint of a smile curled the corners of his lips again as he spoke once more. “I missed you,” he said simply, before pulling back out of the hug.

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." She had stopped midway in the room. To her this was a bit awkward, her first time seeing Rude since...how long had it really been now? Years, 5 years? 6? She had just been a kid the last time she had seen him, a teenager. Though of course she had been more mature then girls her age normally were. Her head had been filled with missions, targets, training and weapons while most girls had their heads on boys, clothes, shoes and the like. But back to the point, it had been years. She put a hand under her arm and the other rested under her chin as she studied him. Like Reno, he looked pretty much the same as he did before. Shaved, the glasses, suit neat as a counter to Reno's sloppier look. Eyes studied him for a few seconds as he seemed to be doing the same. Although she couldn't tell that for sure behind those dark glasses. Operation: 'Reno and Cissnei stealing Rude's glasses' would have to commence sometime.
He seemed to be just the same as before in personality to. Not that she had thought he would suddenly be talking more. Actually is was a relief that he was the same, kind of like, she was coming back 'home' to the same people, which made everything a lot easier. But then she wondered if she had been right, was he trying to place her? No. Turks knew the name of everyone in ShinRa practically. She herself remembered every Turk that had been in ShinRa during those early years, so she was sure he remembered her. When he said her name Cissnei smiled and her crimson eyes lit up somewhat. If no one else remembered her, which she doubted, it was good knowing Tseng, Reno and Rude did. Besides, she had years to make a name for herself again, the youngest Turk to be admitted into ShinRa.
She smiled at those early years. Cissnei had been quite the Turk back then. Raised to believe everyone was the enemy, her fellow Turks had helped her to see that not everyone was bad. That had really helped her get over her fear of letting anyone inside. Perhaps that was due to the fact that she had lost her family at such a young age. Her years away from ShinRa hadn't made her loose her training, though it had made her just a bit more sociable. You had to be if you wanted to live normally, having the respect of your co-workers hadn't been enough, especially for a woman that in all physical aspects, looked small and easy to prey on.
No one was more surprised then she was when Rude stood up and gave to give her a hug. Her eyes got wider and for a second she just stood there, wondering if she was dreaming before she recovered and hugged him back. Wow she had gotten lucky. She had told Reno she would hug Rude, but when it had come right down to it she didn't know if she would have done it. He was like a brother to her yes, but neither of them were really the hugging type of people, Rude way less then her, and she almost never hugged anyone. He had missed her? She hated getting all emotional, but thats now what she felt like.
When he pulled back Cissnei smiled up him-and it was pretty far up considering how short she was- and couldn't keep the happiness out of her eyes even if she had wanted to. And was that a smile? Your probably imagining it. “For a few seconds there I didn't think you recognized me.” Cissnei admitted before clasping her hands in front of her body and her face got serious again. “I missed you too. Sad that after I left I realized there was nowhere else that I felt comfortable at then here at ShinRa.”
Words: 748 Muse: Better! Notes: Bahaha yeah you surprised her. The look on her face = o.O xD

the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude shifted slightly on the spot, although barely. To anyone that didn't know him at all, that movement either wouldn't be caught or wouldn't be thought anything of. To someone that did know him, however, that movement was of some significance. He was feeling slightly awkward but happy at the same time, much like Cissnei was probably feeling herself. It had been so long since they had seen each other, but it was nice to know that she was doing well, and even nicer that she was back.
He looked her over from behind his shades. She hadn't changed at all, it seemed. Both appearance and personality-wise. Come to think of that, thinking about what Cissnei and Reno would get up to now that she was back... Enough to give me a headache.
“For a few seconds there I didn't think you recognized me.”
He shook his head at her. No, he couldn't forget her. Or any of the old Turks, for that matter. True, he didn't often think of them, but all of them together had been one large, and disfunctional, family. He had missed all of them, truth be told. But, then again, there were some he missed more than others, and some that he would willingly admit that he missed, like Cissnei. But Rod and Reno a few of the Turks, he wouldn't willingly admit to such a thing out loud.
“I missed you too. Sad that after I left I realized there was nowhere else that I felt comfortable at then here at ShinRa.”
Rude was almost tempted to give another small smile when she didn't comment on his previous one. That just went to show how rare of an occurence it really was. Or maybe she was just a bit out of practice at noticing his tiny smiles, he didn't know. He nodded and “Mm”'d to what she said, agreeing with her. Of course, he had never left, so he didn't know what it was like, but he knew that was pretty much how he would feel. “I think we would all feel that way.”

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early Reno was in an extremely good mood today, he was walking down the halls whistling, though this time he wasn’t singing ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ to himself, but still he seemed really happy. He had actually gotten a good night’s sleep and he heard that Rude was back today! He had missed his best friend while he was gone, but sometimes it was nice to have a little away time, Reno knew he probably irritated Rude a bit with all his talking, but then again, they were best friends, it was bound to happen anyway. He just walked down the hall with a swagger to his strides as a grin was stretched on his face as he continued to whistle.
As Reno made his way down the halls he stopped to pick up some coffee for the morning, even though it was late in the morning and he was awake, he wanted to have some sort of bounce in his step later, he was bound to be tired at the end of the day, that’s how it usually played out. Energy in the morning and dead tired by late afternoon. Anyways, enough about Reno’s lack of energy, he strolled down the hall sipping at his coffee and making his way towards Rude’s office, he wanted to come in and say hi to his best friend before he actually got started on any paperwork or anything for the day. As he came to Rude’s office door, he peeked inside and saw Rude hugging Cissnei, Reno couldn’t help but grin. So Cissnei had come down at about the same time to say hi to Rude? Perfect timing.
Reno then walked into the room all grins and smiles as he walked up to the two. “Well isn’t this awesome!” He said looking at Cissnei then cutting his eyes over to Rude. “Rude! Welcome back yo!” He said with a goofy grin as usual as he had one hand on Cissnei’s shoulder and the other holding onto his coffee. “It’s been so quiet without-…nevermind.” He said before rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly still grinning like a fool. “So you missed me I bet…” he said confidently before looking at Cissnei and smiling. “And how are you on this fine morning?” He said taking a drink of his coffee before a thought entered his mind, making him always want to do a spit take. His eyes went a bit cross eyed as he thought about this. How were Cissnei and Reno gonna tell Rude about them dating? Oh…that would be fun…though knowing Rude he wouldn’t give any sort of reaction. Perhaps an eyebrow raise or a small smirk. Who knew?
With a nervous laugh Reno smiled and backed up one step before looking at Cissnei. “So Cissnei…should we go ahead and tell Rude about…what has happened while he was away?” He said sheepishly, his eyes locking onto the promise ring on Cissnei’s hand, which still made him grin every time he looked at it. It was a symbol of them…and he was so happy anytime he saw it, Cissnei was his, and he was hers. It was a great feeling that Reno never knew he’d feel in his life. With being a Turk and all, there wasn’t a lot of time to plan out your future…but maybe now there was some hope.Words: 657 Muse: Meh, it was okay Notes: Sorry its short, all my entrances tend to be short!

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." The silence was a bit awkward, but it was also comforting in a weird sort of way. Like she knew that even though they didn't have a ton to say they were just glad to see each other. She was just incredibly happy that he had even remembered her, let alone be happy to see her. And somehow she didn't think she'd ever get another hug out of him. Best enjoy the thought that she had indeed gotten a hug. When he shook his head the smile returned to her lips. It felt good...not being forgotten. She remembered then...all the Turks that had been there before but had left. There had been so many. Gun, Shotgun, Katana, Rod, Legend and all the rest. She wondered how they were doing now. She had lost contact just like the rest of the Turks when she had gotten out of ShinRa.
They had all been friends, she had liked them all. One big huge family, even if they were crazy, they had been HER family, and she would die for any of them. Having no family of her own, at least none that she remembered, Cissnei had always been fiercely loyal to the Turks. A bit on the motherly side, Cissnei was always watching out for her fellow Turks, although oddly enough she was the youngest member. She often couldn't help herself, and anyone that needed help only had to call her...although that wasn't the way it always was. Her harsh training to become a Turk at first had pitted her against the world, making her withdrawn and dedicated, almost like if she didn't commit fully to her job she was a failure. The Turks had gotten that reformed back out of her, but she still had the fierce loyalty and dedication.
She had to agree though. They all were probably missing the Turks. “I wonder what the others feel like. I mean...do they feel as out of place in the real world as I did?” A peppy voice behind her made her turn around with a happy smile on her face. Eyes lit up even more as the red haired Turk made his way in and with his normal 'Yo' and a joke. Of course he would come in cracking jokes, but thats what she loved about him. Sometimes she had no idea how Reno and Rude could stand each other to be partners so well. They worked well together, and were obviously great friends, but they were so different. Reno was outgoing, joking, happy and fun loving while Rude was quiet, withdrawn and serious. She was surprised they didn't kill each other.
He asked her and she nodded a little bit, “I'm good, although I might have to steal that coffee.” She eyed it with a twinkle in her eye before looking at Rude to see his reaction to Reno's appearance. Maybe now she would see some expression on Rude's face! She had to admit she had always been slightly obsessed with seeing some expression, any expression. The shades he always wore kind of made that impossible though, so she would have to be content with the small smirk she had seen earlier. Although she wasn't altogether sure she had actually seen that either. Probably her imagination. His hand went to her shoulder and she felt like blushing. How would Rude react when they told him that they were now dating? She peeked up at him before glancing back at Reno, wondering if he was thinking the same thing.
She wore her promise ring everywhere now since Reno had given it to her. It meant more then an engagement ring would to most people, just because it had been given to her by the guy she cared so much about. He raised the same question and then she really did blush. Red creeped up her neck and she tried to come up with something to say, but couldn't think of anything. “Uh...um...yeah, I guess we probably should. Especially since its Rude.” She gave him a smile, but still felt the heat creeping up her neck. the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Even though he knew that the Turks would be doing fine outside of ShinRa, Rude still couldn't imagine having, or choosing, to leave. Some of the Turks, he knew, would have found it hard to adjust to life outside of ShinRa, but others, like perhaps Rod or Two Guns, because of their backgrounds would have adjusted quicker. It was easy to guess that Rod was likely doing something that involved his beloved motorbikes, but as for the others, he didn't know.
He had to wonder though, if any of the other Turks would find their way back to ShinRa. It was always possible, considering Cissnei came back, and it was highly likely that the other Turks were missing ShinRa, or at the very least each other, too. To have all the Turks back together again would be something that he would definitely like to see. Not only were they a family, but they were a bunch of lethal fighters too; an unstoppable force, if you will. Because even now, even with most of the old Turks gone, they were still working onwards.
“I wonder what the others feel like. I mean...do they feel as out of place in the real world as I did?”
“Well isn’t this awesome! Rude! Welcome back yo!”
Before Rude could even consider an answer to Cissnei's question, Reno appeared in the doorway behind her. Now the vibrant redhead was who Rude had been expecting to see in the first place, and he couldn't say he wasn't pleased to see his best friend. Reno's comment, however, made Rude raise an eyebrow slightly, but fought a smile from his lips. He thinks he's so funny. If it wasn't for the shades he was wearing though, there would be some amount of amusement shown in his eyes. He was trusting that by now, Reno would know that when he appeared to be being serious with him, a lot of the time he wasn't really.
“So you missed me I bet…”
Rude rolled his eyes behind his shades. Like I would admit that out loud. No, that would give Reno even more ammo, and he probably had more than enough already anyway. He shifted just slightly on the spot as Reno and Cissnei addressed each other. He had never really been very good at dealing with emotions or other people much, so being reunited with Cissnei after all these years made him a little awkward. That would pass pretty soon though, he was sure.
Reno's nervous laughter caught Rude's attention immediately and he glanced at his partner through his shades. And in addition to the laughter, he had backed up a step. What had he missed? Thoughts of Reno's past pranks came to mind, and he began to wonder. What the hell has he done now...?
“So Cissnei…should we go ahead and tell Rude about…what has happened while he was away?”
“Uh...um...yeah, I guess we probably should. Especially since its Rude.”
Now Rude really was curious as to what had went on. Cissnei's blushing...? Just by that alone, he could warrant a guess that it was most likely something big, but what exactly could it be... Of course, knowing Reno, it could be any number of things, but something was...different about the atmosphere here than previous times Reno had 'done something'. He raised his eyebrow again. “What did I miss?”

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early This really was good timing on Reno’s part, he had caught Rude in his office and Cissnei here as well…what a bonus! Not having to walk down the hall like 10 whole feet just to say hi to Cissnei or anything…not that Reno was that lazy, but still, two birds one stone. He nodded at Cissnei as she said she was well, but then he put a tighter grip on his coffee and took a step away from her when she talked about stealing his coffee. “No! Not the coffee please…I need to be awake today.” He said with a grin on his face as he continued to just stand there looking at Cissnei like a fool…a love struck boy he was, it was almost a silly thought to think of himself that way.
Of course Rude was silent as always, but that was alright. Reno just wondered what words to put together for the guy, to explain that he and Cissnei were dating. It was probably weird thinking about this but it was sort of important that Rude knew, besides, he was Reno’s best friend and one of Cissnei’s good friends, it wouldn’t be fair if he heard from someone else rather than the two friends right here in front of him. So what, just come out with it and say ’Cissnei and I are dating…just so you know[i/] or try to avoid actually saying that and let Rude make his own assumptions? Or Reno could go ahead and be hella annoying and make it a guessing game or something else stupid like that…for Cissnei he probably would, but he wouldn’t put Rude through that type of utter annoyance…at least not on his first day back.
Reno looked over at Cissnei as she spoke and noticed the blush on her cheeks start to rise. Well that was starting to give it away. Now they better say something before they both looked like fools or anything. Perhaps it would get Rude to talk more? Nah, that wouldn’t happen. Maybe now wasn’t the best time to just chat it up? Or was Reno just starting to get nervous, though why should he be? It wasn’t anything THAT huge right? No, he would play it off cool as he always did, and with that he stuck his free hand in his pocket and just shrugged his shoulders. “Well for one…you missed Cissnei’s first day here…it would’ve been nice to have you.” He said with a small smile on his face as the subject of dating seemed even further away than it was a few moments ago. “I took her out for ice cream and everything…because you know how nice I am and all…” he said with a more smug grin as he told himself to ‘shut up and get on with it.’ But in a few different ways repeated in his head like a ticker tape.
Reno took in a big breath and just pulled that free hand out of his pocket and ran it through his hair. The words just hadn’t come together yet, but here went nothing. “Well…Rude buddy, because you are well…you, my best friend and everything, I’m pretty sure I should fill you in on a life changing experience I had.” Oh great. Reno already hated himself, he was sounded stupider than usual already! How lame! Clearing his throat he looked over at Cissnei, waiting for her to jump in any time here now…but he figured he’d just spit it out. “Erm…I’ll get right to the point instead of wasting air and what not….” He continued to babble before the words just seemed to jumble out of his mouth. “Cissnei and I are sorta like…dating.” He said with a sheepish grin and a shrug of his shoulders as his eyes cut back to Rude, waiting for any sign of expression…or not.Words: 752 Muse: Great Tagged: Cissnei and Rude Notes: Sorry its crap!

...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Cissnei wondered just how Rude would react. Any expression? She hadn't seen much in the expression range from him, but this just might shock him. Of course it was all over ShinRa now, but hey, what could you do? Besides, Rude had been gone when she came back, so he probably hadn't heard about them dating yet. Of course, that didn't stop her from blushing at the thought. Cissnei had never been good at relationships, being with her upbringing and the past it was easy to see why. So just the fact that she had agreed to the relationship was actually astounding. Showed you how much she cared for Reno.
She had been able to be a bit distracted with Reno talking but then once he had mentioned telling Rude about their dating she had gone quiet again. Cissnei wasn't good at this sort of thing. If it had been the Cissnei of years before telling Rude it would have been easier, but she hadn't seen him in years. Did she even know him anymore? Yes. She had to! He remembered her, and neither of them had changed very much, so this should be easy. Especially since Rude had always been like a brother to her. Still, this should be easy to spit out, but as the saying went, a cat seemed to have gotten her tongue, and she waited while Reno started talking almost nonstop.
The expression, or rather, lack of, on Rude's face wasn't helping either. Did he always have to look like he was deep in thought? When Reno mentioned the ice cream and being a great guy that brought a smile to her face. He was a great guy and all, but the ego was just leaking out all over the place. It made her want to laugh, and helped ease the tension she was feeling. Reno gave her a look and she decided to save him and just tell Rude herself when he finally seemed to get the determination to say it. Her eyes twinkled at his discomfort, truth be told she was somewhat enjoying his lack of ease. Seeing Reno actually nervous about something was a scene she wasn't going to pass up.
When did Reno ever get nervous? Usually he was always cocky, full of himself and had self confidence that would match the size of a football stadium. Yup, seeing him stumbling over words was definitely something different. She felt a bit bad of course, but not by much. Being silent wasn't anything new for her actually, although with Reno she came out of her quiet girl stereotype. Cissnei, in the dark side to her personality, almost wished she had a camera to catch the moment, and the babbling. He gave her a look and she almost started giggling. Mercifully she didn't, but she couldn't help the full blown smile that crossed her face.
Finally she thought she'd take mercy on him and help him out, but by that time he had already spit it out. Wait...he had just said it! Her eyes got a tad wider and she went from watching Reno with some amusement to looking at Rude and wondering what he'd say. Of course, she couldn't just remain silent. “Its true.” She then gave Reno a warm smile and hid that smile, she would tell him later she was sorry for not helping, but for now they were both looking at Rude intently and wondering what he would say. Crimson eyes were hopeful, hopeful that he wouldn't be mad or anything. Not of course, that Rude would ever look mad, but you could never tell for sure. She almost showed Rude her promise ring but decided against it. For now she would just let him digest the information he had been given already.

the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude was beginning to wonder more and more what he had missed, as Reno seemed to actually pause and think about what he was going to say. His brow furrowed the slightest bit as he waited on the explanation coming. He kept his arms folded across his chest as he stood there. He wasn’t sure that he completely bought Reno’s nonchalant mannerisms either, as his redheaded partner casually stuck his hand in his pocket and shrugged his shoulders. There really was something that he had missed...and he felt that it was probably quite important. But for the life of him, he couldn’t think of what it could be apart from perhaps Reno getting himself into trouble again. He hoped that if that was the case, that Reno hadn’t dragged Cissnei down with him; not with her only just getting back and all.
“Well for one...you missed Cissnei’s first day here...it would’ve been nice to have you. I took her out for ice cream and everything...because you know how nice I and all...”
He wasn’t entirely sure where this was going. What the hell could Reno be heading towards or getting at? Unless it happened whilst they were out? He glanced at Cissnei from behind his shades briefly, and she seemed intent on not saying anything for the time being. That was something that he and Cissnei had in common sometimes... They were quieter than the rest of the Turks ever were, and neither of them were very good with people.
People that didn’t know Rude just took him at face value – a Turk, tall, strong, built a bit like a wall, and intimidating. But perhaps one of the most intimidating things was because of the shades. People who didn’t know him couldn’t read him, and that intimidated or scared some people because they couldn’t guess what he was feeling; it was unnerving.
“Well...Rude buddy, because you are well...you, my best friend and everything, I’m pretty sure that I should fill you in on a life changing experience I had.”
Get to the point, Reno...
By now, Rude could admit that he was getting a little impatient. While he was normally very patient, he was curious to know what had happened and Reno’s blabbering wasn’t getting them to the point any quicker. Normally he would have just waited with the patience he was famous for (especially because he was partnered with Reno), but he got the distinct feeling that this was something important he was missing. It had to be important if Reno was blabbering like this and avoiding bringing up the main issue straight away and Cissnei had been blushing.
“Erm...I’ll get right to the point instead of wasting air and what not...”
Please do... he thought to himself, still feeling impatient. Not wasting air? Pretty sure you’ve done that already, partner. His thoughts, sarcastic as they have been, weren’t meant all that seriously at all. Absently, he wondered what people would say if he said some of these thoughts out loud. Maybe he’d try it sometime.
“Cissnei and I are sorta like...dating.”
“It’s true.”
Now...that hadn’t been what he was expecting to hear at all.
For a moment, a mere couple of seconds, he didn’t know what to do or say. For as long as he and Reno had known Cissnei, they had treated her like a little sister. Cissnei was like a sister to him, and Reno like a brother. This... He wasn’t sure what he made of this yet. He wasn’t disgusted or angry or anything, it was just quite a bit for him to take in. How could he have missed something like this? Or, how come he hadn’t even perhaps thought about this idea when he was trying to think what Reno was attempting to spit out? But perhaps that was just it; he hadn’t been expecting it to be something like this, therefore he hadn’t thought of it.
His expression remained blank in those few seconds all these thoughts ran through his head. After barely another second, he raised an eyebrow almost questioningly. Rude almost found his own slightly inner turmoil amusing, because there was a tiny part of him that thought that perhaps they were kidding and just trying to pull his leg. But no, that couldn’t be the case. They wouldn’t joke about something like that (or perhaps they might), but Reno’s blabbering was definitely not faked, and neither was Cissnei’s blush.
It was then that Rude noticed something he also should really have spotted before, too. The ring on Cissnei’s right ring finger. He blinked slightly behind his shades. It was her right hand, sure, but that didn’t stop his thoughts from going slightly haywire. He forced the thoughts away before he got too carried away with assumptions, and resisted the urge to shake his head to help clear it.
Now I’m being ridiculous... he told himself. Thinking about it now though...Rude could see why it took Reno a bit to try and spit it out, but was it really that big a deal? Okay, so it was going to take a bit of getting used to on his part, sure, but that was simple enough. He raised a hand and lowered his glasses slightly, looking down at the two of them over the top of the shades, his gaze focusing on Reno. “That’s what you were trying to spit out?” A small smile upturned the corners of his lips again, but this time it was a little more noticeable. He was thinking of this as a good thing now though. Perhaps Reno would mature a little more this way, but then again, perhaps not.

Second in CommandLooks like today we're clockin' out early ’ Cissnei’s silence didn’t bother Reno one bit, that’s just how she was, that’s how Rude was too, and he didn’t mind at all. Although when speaking of them dating, her input could’ve been a bit greater, not leaving Reno to do all the talking, but then again, he did like to talk so maybe he was just babbling too much for her to get a word in. He did that a lot sometimes, it was hard to control, you just get talking and talking and don’t seem to stop until you finally get to the point of why you started talking in the first place. Now was the time to shut up at least after he was done babbling and getting to the point of Reno and Cissnei now dating.
After finally spitting it out, Reno waited for any sort of response. Cissnei did speak a bit, confirming that it was true, which was probably a good idea seeing as Reno was one for pranks and jokes, so Cissnei’s add-in was very well placed, it made it seem serious, and it was. He was just glad Cissnei said something and didn’t keep a blank stare or anything. Reno just kept a grin on his face as one hand went behind his head and the other still held onto the cup of coffee that was getting cold now, but he didn’t care. Right now he wanted to see what Rude had to say…or not say. Who knows? Maybe an expression would cross the man’s face? It would be nice to see something…hear something, anything to break away from this silence!
Finally some movement! Rude had pulled his shades down a bit, which was rare to ever see his eyes, and Reno felt either this was going to be good or bad, and once he spotted the smile on Rude’s face, no matter how small it was, Reno would spot it from a mile away. Reno’s grin just got wider as he chuckled nervously to the whole ‘That’s what you were trying to spit out?’ Sure it was nerve wreaking, but Reno had gotten it out didn’t he? That was all that mattered. He knew it would take some getting used to on practically everyone’s part, but it was the truth, Cissnei and Reno were indeed an item, and for anyone who didn’t like that, well that was their own problem (Rod) “So…are you weirded out yet buddy?” Reno said raising a brow at Rude and grinning still before he cut his eyes over to Cissnei and just continued to smile.
Perhaps this was indeed a good thing. Reno might mature a bit having Cissnei there to keep him in line, of course he already felt a bit more mature as it was being around her, but he would still be the same goofy, likes-to-play-pranks Reno that everyone knew him as. “So that wasn’t so bad now was it?” He said to Cissnei before he looked between the two and just shrugged a bit. “We should hang out or something…willing we aren’t assigned anything today.” He said as things felt pretty normal again, Rude was back, Cissnei was here, and now he wanted to hang out with both of them! How he missed free days and what not…if there were no missions today, Reno was definitely going to con the two into doing something fun. The wheels in his head began to turn as he was thinking of what to do.Words: 696 Muse: Meh, it was okay Tagged: Cissy and Rude Notes: Didnt know what else to write with Reno! ...Forgotten Turk..."Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none." Keeping quiet really was what she was good at. Though she had been put in the quiet girl stereotype, she didn't have the reputation of almost never talking like Rude did. Maybe thats why he cut such a menacing figure. Sure Reno was fast and strong, a good Turk, but he was happy and talked a lot. Usually it was the ones that didn't say anything that people always worried about the most. Mainly because they had no idea where they stood on matters, matters like kicking their butts. Probably why Rude could look so scary most of the time, because he had no expression and just stood there peering into your soul behind those shades. Though he did have expression, the little it was could never be seen.
When she had been younger Cissnei herself had been a bit fearful of Rude. It was only after she had known him for a long time that she realized he wasn't as scary as she had originally thought. Of course, that could also be because she treated him like a brother and she had been little Cissy to Reno and Rude. That had been a long time ago though, back when she had been simply a young girl being trained by ShinRa. Back then she had been a different person. Had she really been that heartless back then? Well it couldn't be helped. Still, now she was different, though she was still quiet, it wasn't as if she thought everything and everyone was her enemy.
The point was that she kept quiet simply because she was a quiet person, not because she was trying to have Reno do all the talking. Cissnei was out of her comfort zone, talking about their relationship. And of course, he blush wouldn't leave her face. Trying to cover it up, she coughed and put her hand under her chin. Reno was doing a smashing job of talking nonstop alright. But thats one of the reasons she liked him so much. Not knowing that Rude was watching her from behind his glasses, Cissnei was looking at the floor intently. Both Reno and Rude towered over her in height, so it seemed easy to remain quiet and remain invisible. Of course, since she was the topic right now, along with Reno, it was a bit hard to do that.
When Reno finally got it out Cissnei glanced up and watched Rude for a moment before dropping her gaze back down. The silence seemed to fill all the corners of the room as she stood and waited for Rude to say something. Anything would be nice. However, she supposed she could say something as well, so she racked her mind to say something before finally coming out with the first thing. “Surprise. You miss a lot when your gone.” With a little smile, she tried to break the silence, only it didn't work as it once again filled the room. Thankfully it was Reno's turn to break the silence, and he did so without talking nonstop any longer. Meeting his eyes, her own sparkled as she smiled in return.
“No, not so bad.” Hanging out. Cissnei didn't think that Rude would ever just hang out. However there was a first time for everything, even though she really didn't think he would ever actually do it. Of course, there had been that one time when he had gone out on a date. Of course she had heard about that, everyone had. Though it wasn't spoken about, with good reason. She herself would never bring it up, instead just keeping her mouth shut. That was really the way to go, especially when it came to that subject. Wait...weirded out? “Weirded out?” That made her smile, Reno had just the weirdest ways of saying things. the - QUIET - turk - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rude was still trying to get used to this new development. That was two big things he’d found out in one day now. First, Cissnei being back, and second, that she and Reno were now dating. Two shocks within the space of perhaps twenty minutes or half an hour – he wasn’t sure how much time had went by during Reno’s incessant, nervous blabbering. The first ‘shock’ had been a good one, that much was certain, because he had missed Cissnei a lot, and a little more than the other Turks that had left. The second ‘shock’...he still wasn’t quite sure what exactly to make of it yet, but he was happy for them, at least. It was just a lot to take on board at once and in such a short space of time which led for him still being slightly unsure.
He had been right in guessing that it had been something big that he had missed, however he just hadn’t expected this to be it. Although, quite frankly, he thought that Reno’s blabbering and Cissnei’s blushing had been fairly amusing. He could see why Reno had trouble spitting it out to begin with, however. Rude himself was...quiet and shy when it came to women; he always had been. It probably came back to the fact that he wasn’t all that good with people to begin with, but with women that he liked, it was especially difficult to do or say anything. Especially since Chelsea... I’m not going to think about that now... he scolded himself. The memories of Chelsea hurt, and he wasn’t about let himself run away with that one little thought of her because that was not what he needed right now.
“Surprise. You miss a lot when your gone.”
“So...are you weirded out yet buddy?”
‘Weirded out’…? What a way to phrase things. He knew his small smile had been spotted as Reno’s grin also widened, and Rude shook his head a little, his glasses now back where they belonged pushed back up his nose and covering his eyes. “Not quite.” Cissnei wasn’t kidding when she said that he’d missed a lot. He had to wonder though... How had it happened? How had they actually gotten together? Those and a few more questions were circling Rude’s ever-thinking brain. He wasn’t about to pry and ask, however, because technically it was none of his business, even if he was Reno’s best friend and like a brother to Cissnei. Anything they wanted him to know, they would tell him. As Reno and Cissnei addressed each other, Rude stayed silent and within his own thoughts for the moment.
“We should hang out or something...willing we aren’t assigned anything today.”
Reno’s words, Rude realised, were directed at both himself and Cissnei, which withdrew him from his thoughts a little more. Hang out? Well...he supposed he had just finished up that paperwork perhaps a few hours earlier than he thought it would get done by. The quiet worked wonders for concentration levels. Unless he was assigned anything today, then he was most likely free for the whole day. “I don’t see why not,” he said. Considering that this was his first time seeing Cissnei in years, he didn’t see any problem in ‘hanging out’ with her and Reno. After all, he had missed her.
He could practically already hear the gears in Reno’s head turning as he was most likely trying to come up with ideas of what they could do. “Don’t think too hard, you’ll hurt yourself,” he said, almost before he could stop himself, but he couldn’t resist the quick jab at his redheaded friend. Fighting off another smile, this time more of a smirk, he waited to hear what Reno had to say and if he had any ideas.

Whoever said that ‘silence is golden’ was a big fat liar. It’s more like ‘silence is awkward, someone talk before I explode!’…or at least that’s how Reno was viewing it right about now. For a guy like him, silence wasn’t usually his thing, usually he was talking a lot with Rude or whatever poor person was stuck listening to him babble about random things or himself…that huge ego of his always getting in the way. Standing there with a grin on his face probably didn’t make him look too…smart or anything, just waiting for someone to talk that wasn’t him for once. It would be nice if someone jumped in! Said something? ANYTHING! No matter how random or stupid it was, just…this silence wasn’t good and it was making Reno nervous…and he still had more to worry about regarding him and Cissnei!
With a heavy breath that made the only sound in the room for a moment, Reno let his blue-green eyes flicker around the room, not looking at Rude, or Cissnei, but just trying to slow the momentum of his thoughts and gather some composure…for whatever would be said. As he glanced around the room, not looking at anything unparticular, Reno rubbed his hand slowly through his hair and loosened his shoulders a bit before his eyes looked back at Rude, then Cissnei, a sheepish grin reappearing on his face as she repeated what he had said, ‘weirded out’, yep that was Reno for you. “Heh” he sort of started a chuckle, finally someone had said something, even if it wasn’t all that much, it did break the silence that was for sure. But then…things just started to go silent again, and Reno didn’t want that! Not at all, time to babble, talk, break out into song, something to keep the silence from creeping back.
As Reno was getting ready to start babbling, Cissnei spoke up again, followed by Rude. It was like…a chain reaction! A slow one but still! It was chatter! Tiny chatter, and Reno would liven things up a bit more…there was still a few things to be said. Letting out a sigh of relief Reno grinned more now as he folded his arms across his chest and stared more at Rude now, his cocky smile still on his face as he wondered where to begin for this next piece…rush into it and run! That was the best way to do anything right? “So Rude…there’s something else we- I gotta tell ya!” He said as his voice started to pick up speed. Spit it out and then jump to another topic as fast as possible…that was his ‘master plan’ right here. “Not only are we dating…well it’s a little more advanced then that…um.” So much for spit it out. He took a brief pause before dropping his arms to his side, and then raising one to his chin. He was fidgeting a little too much today.
“We’re getting married and you're totally the best man! good luck- So how bout we go find something to do, yeah I know! Let’s go get ice cream or…go play video games or wait! Maybe there’s a mission to do…something…hanging out yes! Let’s go!” And after that stream of babbling and stupidity flowing from Reno like a never ending stream…he bolted for the door and practically escaped in like…half a second after he was done talking at the speed of light. After stepping into the hall he breathed in heavily before staring at the door he had just ‘escaped’ out of. “Well…I think that went pretty well.” He said with a grin waiting to see if they would follow him to ‘hang out’ or if it would just stay silent for a few more minutes…oh silence…how Reno hated it.
