Rikku's mother is unknown, for the woman had been killed by a faulty machina. However, Rikku's father is Cid[Not Highwind] and her older brother is well-- Brother. Her Aunt, Cid's sister married High Summoner Braska, which makes Yuna her biological cousin.

Appearance
Rikku's appearance much over the two years has changed drastically, instead of her usual medium-length blonde hair, green short-shorts, looped with an orange belt around her waist. Along with her orange sleeveless tank-topped side straps, and goggles around her neck, along with boots, gauntlet and arm guard on her right arm and a large protective fore-arm mit for her left. Finally finishing the attire with a pouch on her right thigh keeping her alchemy materials and equipment.
Rikku's hair is now loosely worn braided, tied atop her head held by a light blue bandanna. Her Al-Bhed eyes a swirled green much like her brother's and father's However, Rikku's outfit has become drastically revealing, but not as highly revealing as Leblanc's and or Yunie's Her top is a yellow string bikini supporting the upper area, while her olive green mini-skirt, carrying two pouches at her waist matches well with the customs. Her sleeves now ruffled over each as new arm guards. She even wears long yellow and red scarf, which hangs loosely around her neck. Her boots, are blue at the top and tan at the bottom no laces, normally just buttoning together.
Personality:
Rikku much like Tidus is highly loyal to Yuna, unlike most she calls her Yunie out of affection. She thinks of Tidus as a brother even telling him, before the rest of the group about being Yunie's cousin. At times she shall even crawl to him, normally when scared and sometimes around snakes. Yet, Rikku looks up to Lulu as something of a role model, highly impressed with her calm levelheaded nature. Yet, Rikku is kind-hearted, extremely spiritual and very very energetic. She mostly acts like a child playful in several ways, doing her best to keep up a positive demeanor in life. Normally labeling gloomy, and or annoying people as big meanies. Her extremely spiritual and very very energetic aspects, clash with Paine's slightly stoic nature.
Despite her peppy natures Rikku, seems to carry some insecurities, mainly when it comes to her own future and what she wants to be. Also, despite how hyper and at times ditzy she seems , Rikku is extremely intelligent, speaking two languages and being skilled in chemistry. Rikku also, as stated before has a huge fear of snakes, for when fighting she's sometimes shouting "Snake! Snake! Snaaake!" But, aside from everything Rikku is truly kindhearted comforting Yunie in times of need, and even halting her nosy side for Paine. It's known by several, Rikku never gives up and has even made up her own dictionary. She may be strange, but as stated by Tidus "Well, I don't claim to know much about Spira. And I probably know even less about the Al Bhed, but... I know Rikku's a good person. She's just Rikku."
History:
While first being introduce to Tidus, we see his past, present and almost future un-fold. Though, before he plum its to his "death" he is sucked several years into the future. So once Tidus arrives in Spira, Rikku was already at the Underwater Ruins. As time passed, her group "rescues" Tidus. Though, before being carried off Rikku, the only member who can speak both Al Bhed and Spiran, stops the Al-Bhed from killing him, for they assume he is a fiend in human disguise and wanted to kill him.
Even though Rikku stops them, she still knocks Tidus out with a punch, as this is the beginning of a long journey for the two. So, as time keeps moving Rikku ask for his help in reactivating an underwater power plant. As the two report back on the ship, a small friendship is made Rikku being very surprised by his claims of hailing from Zanarkand, so she promises to take him to Luca so that he can try and find someone he knows. Yet, before anything else can happen Tidus is washed overboard by a surprise encounter with Sin.
Later on, while in Luca Tidus tries asking the Al Bhed Psyches Blitzball team about Rikku, sadly nothing gets across as Tidus doesn't speak their language, and the Al-Bhed doesn't speak his. Afterward, when Yuna is captured Tidus suspects their ship, which Yuna is being held is the same, as the one which rescued him, but it turns out that it was not. But, later on once walking towards Guadoslam, Rikku captures Yuna with a underwater machina, only hoping to Yuna and stopping her Pilgrimage. Yet, the machine is beaten by Tidus and Wakka, as she washes ashore.
As Tidus finds her collapsed on a beach, yet very happy to see that she is alright from the SIN attack. As the two talk, Tidus almost let's out Rikku is an Al-Bhed, but stops knowing Wakka dislikes them. As the others arrive, Rikku ask to be Yuna's guardian only so she can keep defending Yuna her cousin. Once Auron sees Rikku, he forces her to look him in the eye, revealing herself to be an Al Bhed to him, but he, like everyone else, keeps it secret from Wakka. Once arriving at Guadosalam, Rikku teaches Tidus how to make better weapons by fusing them with items. Yet, once the others head into the farplane, Rikku stays outside enjoying the scenery[with Auron] stating Memories are nice but they are just memories.
As things move forward, Rikku ends up revealing how her mother died, along with wanting several kids due to not having many brothers or sisters.As they keep moving, Rikku begins to freak being near Thunder Plains, explaining a magical accident with thunder[caused by Brother aiming a thunder spell at an attacking fiend, only to miss and hit Rikku instead. As the thunder booms, Rikku clings to Tidus's leg and begs the group to stay longer at one of Rin's Travel Agencies. Auron annoyed by it all, leaves her at the Agency as Rikku heads outside to prove to Auron that she's not scared. She only calms down and brightens up once the group reaches Macalania.
Later on, once Yuna is captured again Wakka finds out Rikku is an Al-Bhed, once Brother and a group of Al Bhed show up with a tank-like machina. Wakka isn't happy, and blames he Al-Bhed of forbidden machina being the reason of Sin's birth. But, later on as the head to Macalania Temple, Rikku reveals only to Tidus that she is Yuna's cousin and articulates in a roundabout way that Yuna will die if she continues her pilgrimage, but Tidus does not realize this fact. Once time keeps on passing Rikku leads everyone to her home, once they are all on Bikanel Island, yet only to see it was attacked by the Guado, and that several of her friends had been killed. Once realizing this, Rikku helps the group find her father Cid as they escape on the airship she helped salvage earlier.
Once there, Rikku tells Tidus Yuna shall die if she goes ahead with the Final Summoning, which makes Rikku begin an emotional breakdown. nce doing so, Rikku ends up being highly sad over the course of the trip to Bevelle, although Wakka tries cheering her up deeply which helps in a way. As the group reaches their destination, Rikku uses flash bombs to blind Seymour, so everyone can head into the Bevelle Temple. While there, Rikku isn't surprised to see that Yevon is using Machina as once reaching the Chamber of Fayth, Rikku[for Kinoc is holding them up] tries warning Tidus not to leave, but it was too late as the group is captured.
Once captured, Rikku is thrown into Via Purifico with Tidus and Wakka and and helps them escape, while they hide away in Macalania Woods, Rikku hoping Yuna had decided to give up on her journey, once fully knowing the truth about Yevon. Yet, Rikku knowing how important it was to Yuna decided to ask Tidus to do so, but he was also un-successful as once getting to the Calm Lands, Rikku tries figuring out how to save Yuna and as the group is in Zanarkand Ruins, Rikku becomes very annoyed and argues repeatedly with Tidus over other possible courses of action.
Yet, after Yuna thought about it all Rikku was very happy when she decided to decline the Final Summoning and put a permanent end to Sin. Once doing so, Rikku argues over the identity of Yu Yevon with Mika, and then tells Shelinda to spread word of the plan to pacify Sin using the Hymn of the Fayth as she also makes peace with Wakka before the final confrontation with Sin. Once Sin is beaten and Tidus begins to fade, Rikku doesn't accept a farewell and yells they'll see each other again.
As two years passed, Rikku and Brother had a fight with Cid only to run off creating the group Gullwings, Paine, Shinra and finally Yuna joining the group. Rikku before getting Yuna, visited MT. Gagazet only to hear Kimahri one of Yuna's former guardians, found a sphere on Mt. Gagazet which shows a man bearing a strong resemblance to Tidus. So, Rikku rushed to Besaid showing Yuna quickly as the two immediately leave the island home and join the motley crew on their airship, the Celsius. As the group travels, YRP[Yuna, Rikku, and Paine] meet their new enemies, LeBlanc Syndicate who steal Yuna's sphere, and impostor Yuna. Yet, Rikku and Paine get it back fighting off the three finally with Yuna's help.
Once doing so, the three once again travel around Spira meeting several new and old, even three important men named Nooj, Baralai and Gippal. Once arriving at Djose Temple, Gippal a ladies man as Spiran's say cutely picks on Rikku "joking" the two "made quite the couple." Rikku replied quickly, and also didn't deny it at the time keeping it a secret even from Yuna. So, as time passes and Spira is in danger once more Leblanc and the Gullwings work together to try and stop Vegnagun. In doing so, they all learn of Lenne and Shuyin lovers from long ago who tried being together, but ended up dying to Bevelle Soldiers. As more time passes, and more spheres are found Lulu and Wakka had a child, and Tidus returns once Yuna ask to see him. As the three return to Besaid, Yuna runs off the ship and hugs him running off to the island telling her story. Once doing so, everyone goes their separate ways only to return together three months later after getting a letter from Dr.P to head to Yadonoki Tower.
As YRP moves up the tower, they all tell why their contact has been broken. As the conversation continues, Rikku tells Yuna of her jealousy[towards her] who had reached her goal in life and had settled down. As it continues, Paine tells everyone she was the one who sent the letter, as it was also her wish not to see their friendship head down the drain learning from her previous friendship with Nooj, Gippal and Baralai and from her own lonely travels. As the three finally made it to the top, a broken Machina was found realizing it was much like their friendship; broken, separated. Once looking the trio promised to be more than just strangers who had met by chance, becoming friends once again, the machina began to work, and their adventures continued.

Sunlight Slash: Rikku runs up to her enemy, and spins her daggers as they light on fire. Once done a smile creeps onto her face, as she jumps lightly spinning, while slashing her enemy five times--with fire.

Strengths:
Rikku is known for her speed, and wonderful loyalty towards others, for she isn't afraid to help a friend. She's also pretty good at swiping items, but it could be assumed it's because of her dress-sphere, and or if she was taught.
Weaknesses:
Rikku can sometimes be a bit too hyper, and at others nosy much to Pain's dismay. Her fear of thunder, as stated by her gotten over..though at times secertly there has made her at times stay away from thunder-like areas. Rikku can also be a worry wort, though usually towards Yunie who still seems to be saving Spira.
