Elena
“Tseng! Look at this! Not a pretty sight, is it?”
Custom Title: The Dedicated Turk
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Family: father (deceased), and older sister Gun (former Turk)
Race: Human
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual
Home World: Gaia (FFVII)
Alignment: ShinRa
Job: Member of the Turks
Items: PHS, combat gloves, handgun
Accessories: black tie
Appearance: Elena is rather petite, with short-cropped blonde hair (almost exactly like her sister’s had been). She has a slender, yet slightly curvy frame, and dark brown eyes.
Personality: Elena is a very hard-working individual, and very dedicated to her job. She hasn’t been a Turk for long compared to some of the others, but she works hard at every mission and does her best. She’s organised and can think quite quickly on the spot in a tight situation. She learns and picks things up quickly, so she can easily hold her own beside the other, more experienced Turks.
On the flip side, Elena can be a little clumsy despite being so skilled. There has been a situation or two before when she has dropped her gun or fumbled with it, and ended up hurt or in danger because of the few seconds advantage that gave to the opponent. Some might even say that she has a slight knack of getting into serious trouble, but she always manages to wriggle her way out of it in the end. Elena is also someone that you wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of. She may be small, but she can sure as hell pack a punch.
History: Elena and her older sister were born in the slums, to a loving mother and a strict father. When Elena was ten, her mother passed away, and so she and her sister were left in the care of their father. Their father then became a teacher at the ShinRa Military Academy, and thus their status and financial situations got a little better. Both girls attended the academy, with both of them hoping to join ShinRa like their father in the future.
However, a strong case of sibling rivalry developed between Elena and her sister. Gun was talented, and had outstanding marksmanship, completely outperforming her younger sister’s efforts. Elena began to get frustrated, feeling like she would never be able to match up to her older sister’s skills. But nonetheless, she was determined to prove that she was at least just as skilled as her sister.
At first in her attempts, she had trained in firearms just like her sister, but after a while switched and decided to go her own way about things, so she would stand out more. She started practicing martial arts instead, and eventually earned five “Elite Emblems” – emblems at the ShinRa Military Academy that they only gave to students who held the highest scores on their exams. In receiving these emblems, she had earned more Elite Emblems than anyone else at the school, solidifying her status as a prodigy.
Since she had succeeded in making a name for herself, she still resented her sister, and so would take any other opportunity to prove herself even further. When she had seen three Ravens dispose of SOLDIER members and steal their uniforms, for example, she considered telling the Turks, but instead just went after them herself. She was later kidnapped for being a witness to the disposal of the SOLDIERs, and was held hostage on a train. However, she deliberately dropped one of her Elite Emblems onto the floor of the train, alerting the Turks that she was onboard the train when they arrived.
After being saved by one of the Turks (and getting some good hits in on the Ravens herself), she vowed to become a Turk and surpass her sister completely.
Elena was only first drafted into the Turks when they were slightly short on numbers, and Reno was out of action and injured from fighting with AVALANCHE. Not how she would have preferred to enter the Turks, but still, she got to where she wanted to be. Just like before when she was kidnapped by the Ravens, Elena was kidnapped again, this time by Don Corneo, alongside Yuffie. Her fellow Turks, Reno and Rude, had to work alongside AVALANCHE in order to save her.
A couple of years after Meteor and the death of Sephiroth, whilst she and Tseng were retrieving Jenova’s head from the Northern Crater, they were attacked by the Remnants – Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo. They both obtained very serious injuries, but were thankfully rescued by Vincent Valentine. Because of these injuries, they couldn’t take part in what was happening in Midgar, so everything had to be left to Reno and Rude. None of this sat well with Elena, but she dealt with it, just happy that she and Tseng were alive and safe once more. She got her chance to participate later on, however, when she and Tseng had to catch President Rufus ShinRa as he jumped off a building in an attempt to destroy Jenova’s head.

Elena jumped out of the helicopter quickly after Tseng, running along behind him until they split off separate ways and up different buildings. The fresh air felt nice after being cooped up to heal, and fresh air was something that she used to revel in and enjoy all the time, after being born in the Midgar slums; but right now, there was no time.
Ignoring the pain that shot up her side at her fast movement, and barely even wincing, she carried on up at the stairs, practically taking them two at a time as she ran. She knew Tseng would be faster, because after all, his legs were longer than hers, and so she was having to give it her all and go faster in order to get up the stairs in time. Normally it wouldn’t have been a problem, but her breathing was a little more laboured than usual thanks to the strain on her still-healing injuries from the Remnants.
Sucking in a deep, steadying breath to ease her chest some, and then keeping her breath as steady as she could, she carried on until she had nearly the platform at the right height. It was just as she was about to reach it that she saw the President falling beside the building beside the one she stood on and hurried her pace the last few strides, before pointing her net gun with incredible accuracy, and shooting the net, just as Tseng shot his net as well.
The nets crossed perfectly, and the President landed in them. Sighing in relief, Elena took a hand off her gun and placed it against her side, and trying not to move her neck too much. As much as she was almost healed, the wounds were still tender enough to hurt. She couldn’t linger long though, and so scaled her way down the building to meet up with Tseng, Reno and Rude, along with Rufus on the ground. It took her a few moments longer than usual to catch her breath, but she managed to stand straight and continue to look professional, despite the bandage on her face and being slightly paler than usual.
