Appearance
Cid is a man of five feet eight inches. He has a muscular build, blue eyes, short blond hair and a bit of stubble. His attire consist of a light blue t-shirt that clings tight, and a pair of olive colored cargo pants. He has a gray sweater tied around his waist, a pair of brown gloves that go up to his mid forearm, and a pair of brown combat boots. Completing his outfit, is a pair of pilot goggles that rest on the top of his head, which usually have a pack of cigarettes tucked into the side of them.
Personality:
Cid is a bit brash, the type of guy who shows his annoyance with his dialogue. He has a sailors mouth, often cursing quite a bit. He will often tell someone off instantly if he doesn't like them, and never shows fear. He can be a bit sarcastic at times as well.
Cid isn't completely negative however. While he may insult his friends, he does it lovingly, never meaning any real harm. He has the heart of a hero, always doing the right thing in the end, and being very brave. A true lover of science, Cid is a complete machine freak, being a mechanical genius. All in all, while he may be a bit rough around the edges, Cid has a heart of gold.
History:
Since he was a child, Cid always dreamed of taking to the skies, and one day being the first man in space. As he got older, he became a skilled pilot, eventually realizing his dream of flying and getting his own plane, the Tiny Bronco, and eventually his first Airship, the Highwind. All was good for Cid, and working as a Shinra Pilot made him happier than ever.
When he was 26, his dreams seemed like they were going to come completely true, as Shinra had started a space program, and Cid was selected to be the first man in space. On the day of the flight however, Cid had to abort the flight in order to save Shera, a woman working on the rocket who found an oxygen tank faulty. Shinra decided to cancel the flight, and Cids dreams seemed lost, and his attitude soured.
Over the years, he became mayor of Rocket Town, a town formed around the site of the un-launched rocket. When he was 32, Cids life would change forever. He met Cloud Strife and the rest of AVALANCE, who asked to use his Tiny Bronco plane. He refused, saying the skies were all he had left. Shinra was coming that same day, and Cid was excited thinking they wanted to restart the space program. However...this wasn't the case. Shinra only wanted his plane.
Angered, Cid refused when he suddenly saw that Cloud and his friends had hijacked the Tiny Bronco. As Shinra started shooting at them, Cid chased after and jumped on the plane, which was shot down and landed in the water, where it floated. After talking with Cloud and his friends, Cid joined AVALANCE to help in the fight against Shinra and Sephiroth.
Fighting alongside them, Cid was a valuable ally and became good friends with the team, and they fought many battles with the Shinra while trying to get to Sephiroth. Eventually, they found him, but nothing good came of it, and Cloud was lost and presumed dead. With the rest of the crew captured by Shinra, they managed to all escape, with Cid regaining his airship, the Highwind. Deciding they would start a search for Cloud, AVALANCE set off.
Eventually finding him, Cloud had Mako poisoning, and Tifa, a member of AVALANCE and childhood friend of Cloud, stayed with him. Cid was voted temporary leader and they went on a quest to stop Shinra from collecting things called "Huge Materia." With Cid as leader, they managed to save the Huge Materia, and eventually Cloud recovered from his sickness and took over as Leader, and the team saved the last Huge Materia.
After the Huge Materia incident, Cid discovered Shinra was going to load his rocket with huge materia and shoot it at Meteor. Getting the team together, they ambushed Shinra and boarded the rocket, which took off with them inside. Cids dream was finally realized, and he was the first man in space. He also realized Shera was right, and the rocket had a faulty oxygen tank. Cid softened up and forgave Shera, and the team escaped via Escape Pods. Watching the rocket fly into meteor, they were saddened, but not surprised, when it didn't work and meteor was just fine.
Returning to earth, they discussed there options, deciding that they would defeat the Shinra. Eventually, Diamond WEAPON began heading towards Midgar, and the team fought a harsh battle managing to defeat it. Shinra fired a cannon that killed Diamond WEAPON, and destroyed the barrier around the Northern Cave, where Sephiroth lay. It also severely injured Rufus, the Shinra president. Using this to there advantage, AVALANCE attacked Shinra head on, finally managing to defeat the evil company.
With nothing left but to defeat Sephiroth, the team headed deep into the north cave, and after a long and harsh battle, the team finally managed to defeat Sephiroth, with the Holy Spell activating and stopping Meteor at the last minute. All was well, for now.
Over the next few years, AVALANCH helped rebuild the world, which had been damaged from Meteor. A disease, Geostigma, infected many, and was the cause of Sephiroths will, and he eventually was reborn into three people, Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo. Joining the team for a battle against Bahamut SIN, Cid was the only member besides Cloud who caused the beast to cry in pain. After a hard battle, they defeated it, and eventually defeated the trio, which revived Sephiroth. Cloud had a harsh solo battle with him, but eventually won, with Healing Rain falling from the sky that cured the world of Geostigma. All was good, for now.
The next year, Cid was 35 and was now the Pilot for the WRO, The World Regenesis Organization. He had married Shera during this time as well. Spending a lot of time flying place to place, he eventually helped another member of AVALANCE, Vincent Valentine, who was dragged in to help WRO. After a long series of battles and shocks, everybody in AVALANCHE eventually showed up to help Vincent in his final battle, which had Vincent defeat the final WEAPON, saving the world for good. Finally, AVALANCHE and WRO could focus purely on rebuilding the world.
Cid has lived a semi peaceful life since, flying place to place for WRO and enjoying his life with Shera, as well as seeing his old friends very often. While the world is safe for now, who knows what could happen? This is where Cid Highwind resumes his story.
Abilities:
Hyper Jump
Cid jumps high into the air, and lands down hard on the enemy with his spear, causing an explosion of physical power.
Dynamite
Lightning a stick of dynamite with his cigarette, Cid throws it at the enemies, causing heavy damage to all opponents. Two turn cool down between uses.
Dragon Dive
Cid jumps into the air, and comes down and hits the opponent with a powerful spear thrust that causes an explosion of power and leaps back up afterward, repeating the attack a total of six times. If there are multiple opponents, he will attack them all, but only one at a time. Has a three turn cool down between uses.
Big Brawl
Loosening up, Cid runs forward and delivers eight powerful strikes with his spear, hitting one enemy eight times, or multiple enemies a random number of times each but always stops after eight hits have been delivered. Four turn cool down between uses.
Highwind
Cids ultimate attack. No matter where he is, he will call forth his airship from above, which then drops a total of eighteen bombs, hitting all enemies for large amounts of damage. Has a eight turn cool down between uses, but Cid doesn't use it very often, unless surrounded or fighting a powerful beast usually.

Cid is a powerful physical fighter, and as such doesn't use Materia much. So, he has no spells.

Cid can jump very high, and is very strong physically and has a lot of endurance.

It was another normal day for Cid, who was enjoying his time as a pilot for the WRO. As he stood around in the loading docks, people were loading cargo onto the Shera, for Cid was to deliver a load of weapons and rations from Junon to Edge, in hopes of helping the city even further. "Come on ya' damn numbskulls, hurry up! And don't touch anything in my damn ship!" He yelled, smirking and lightning up a cigarette. The crew laughed and rolled there eyes, use to Cids attitude by now.
As the captain overlooked everything, he suddenly heard his cellphone ringing. Reaching into his pocket, he flipped it open, seeing it was Nanaki calling. Pressing the talk button, he held the phone up to his mouth and smirked. "Hey, Nanaki. What's up?" He asked his close friend. "Edge? I was actually on my way th-" Cid was cut off from his phone call, as suddenly a huge explosion blew down one of the walls. Having no time to explain, Cid put his phone up as several men who were armed with guns and wearing mask stormed in.
"Everybody shut up, we're taking the ship and the cargo!" One of the men said. The crew looked worried. Cid looked angry. Taking a step forward, Cid grabbed his spear that was leaning against the wall. Pointing a finger at the man who demanded his ship, Cid gritted his teeth.
"Listen here, pal! You're not taking crap, ya' here me? This is MY ship and I'm delivering this cargo! No way in HELL would I hand over my ship to a bunch of wannabe terrorist like you guys!" He yelled. The men, even though they were armed with guns actually found themselves intimidated by the skilled pilot. "N-nobody has to get hurt, old man..." The man replied. Cid smirked. "Yeah, then I guess you shouldn't have busted in here demanding that I give you my airship then, eh?" Cid said in a cocky tone. And with that, he spun his spear and braced himself, running towards the thugs and leaping high into the air. It was time to teach these punks a lesson.
