Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. Repa stared down at her food before taking another few bites before another sip of water. It was always good to her. She always thought other worlds would have this outrageous, exotic and just plain weird food, but everything seemed rather normal, just named differently. Though the gist of everything was still the same. Pasta was pasta, chicken was chicken etc. So really, the worlds weren’t all that different in Repa’s eyes, in fact, they were all very similar, especially Delatorr and Gaia…there were some definite similarities. But this was a topic for another day. Repa smiled happily, at least this was food to get Ebony by for now, next time Repa would explain some different items on the menu before diving in head on for food. “It’s pretty good, next time ill explain stuff to you if you want. Makes things a little easier.” She shrugged some before she set her fork in her place and placed her hands in her lap, looking down again she had a few questions for Ebony. Though no question was really directly about her…more about Josh and what he had said. “Did…Josh ever mention how things back home were doing? My home I mean…last time I was there…things weren’t so lovely.” She sighed a bit hoping things were getting better, because if they were, there was no reason to really be away. Although this whole ‘new start’ thing was starting to make Repa happier, better than the depression she went through awhile back. “I was just curious if he said anything to you. He likes speaking of the army sometimes.” Repa said letting her eyes wander before the waitress came back with a check and placed it on the table. Repa, lightning fast as she was, grabbed the check and placed a card in it before the girl had a chance to leave. After the waitress left again Repa looked at Ebony. “Have you been to Delatorr yet? I uh…don’t know if it’s a great idea…I mean, if things are still horrible like they were before…though playing ‘meet the family’ is always fun.”

“It’s pretty good, next time ill explain stuff to you if you want. Makes things a little easier.”
Ebony nodded and continued to eat. The food had tasted pretty normal, at least to Ebony's standards. She had never really been to a different world before, so she didn't have much of any knowledge about if they had different food, cultures, etc. She had read about some worlds in travel books, but they always bored her, so she just bothered to never read them.
She then noticed that Repa had stopped eating, basically looking down. She must have been wondering something...
“Did…Josh ever mention how things back home were doing? My home I mean…last time I was there…things weren’t so lovely. I was just curious if he said anything to you. He likes speaking of the army sometimes.”
Ebony put her own fork down, and leaned back in her seat. Sure, Josh had given her updates whenever he was back in Cocoon, but not any really big details.
"Yes, he did mention how the war was going on, but I, honestly, don't know much of anything. He did tell me the situation when we first met, and when he left on an unexpected notice, he came back with his arm in a cast. He gives me some updates, but never any really big details..." Ebony sighed and looked out the window where their seat was located, "...I guess he just doesn't want me to worry too much..."
A small smile appeared on Ebony's face as she recalled a few memories, but her reverie was soon broken when the waitress came over to give them the bill. She was just about to reach her hand over, just to look at the price, when Repa grabbed it, and slammed her card down. Ebony just merely glanced at Repa, before laying her hand back down.
“Have you been to Delatorr yet? I uh…don’t know if it’s a great idea…I mean, if things are still horrible like they were before…though playing ‘meet the family’ is always fun.”
"Actually, it's sorta yes, and no. It was after Josh had contracted the virus that was native to Delatorr. I had to portal him back to the palace, to get him treated. I only stayed there for a couple days, and even then it was only in the palace. You can ask him about the details when you next see him."

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. From what Ebony had been stating…things were exactly the same as they were before. Especially if Josh ended up leaving and coming back in a cast. One shot never saved an entire world from war, so obviously, there was still a lot of problems back home. Unfortunate for all the soldiers, citizens, and well the royal family having to deal with such chaos. “Ah I see…I’m guessing nothing’s changed then.” She shrugged a bit nodding in agreement to Ebony’s theory about Josh not wanting her to worry. Repa let out a little laugh. “Yeah, he probably doesn’t want you to be worried about him. Last time someone got filled in on how things REALLY were going…well someone died.” That was unfortunate as well. Especially coming from Repa who was the one person who got filled in. “But Josh takes good care of himself. He’s a great leader.” This was true, since day one he was a born leader and probably the most eligible heir to the throne of Delatorr. That would make Repa proud if he gained that opportunity. She herself wouldn’t be a great leader, running away from her problems wasn’t exactly the best leadership skill around. So Josh was the best choice for the job. But hopefully that decision wouldn’t be made for many years to come. Josh had gotten sick? Oh boy. “Oh, I bet that was fun.” Repa said a little sarcastically. Wondering if Ebony got a feel for the palace. Then her mind jumped to other topics like marriage and all that stuff. With a quick spacing out moment Repa came back to reality knowing she didn’t have to think of all this stuff yet. Stay out of other’s lives, it was a rule she stuck by. “Well maybe one day you can go back with Josh or something…it’s quite beautiful when you go at the right time and stay away from the battle grounds.” Repa smiled cheerfully. “Maybe he can take you around some of the holidays…our family sure likes to go all out for most of them.”

Black Researcher Let's get this over with so that I can get back to work. “Yeah, he probably doesn’t want you to be worried about him. Last time someone got filled in on how things REALLY were going…well someone died.”Ebony's eyes widened before she glanced down. "I see...I'm sorry."“But Josh takes good care of himself. He’s a great leader.”Well, Repa was certainly right about that, though Ebony had never really seen his leader-like side, but he seemed to be one. It had usually been her saving their butts, though there was the time where the Council at the Academy had tried to kill her. That time Josh had taken action. “Well maybe one day you can go back with Josh or something…it’s quite beautiful when you go at the right time and stay away from the battle grounds. Maybe he can take you around some of the holidays…our family sure likes to go all out for most of them.”
Well, now that she though about it, Josh had told her he would take her on a vacation of some sort at some point or another, though she had never taken him up on the offer. She didn't need a vacation, she was perfectly fine as she was. Of course, now that she knew Repa she would have two people coming after her. Joy. "...Can't wait."(Hope it's alright that I added in my template. =3)

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. No apologies were necessary. Even if it was a sad subject. “Ah, it’s okay” Repa said with a slight shrug not really wanting to think about it, but then again, she brought up the subject which now made her think about it. Good job Repa. It just brought all the memories back, the utter guilt Repa felt after that, the depression and the all around hatred she felt from many people and from herself. “It was an accident…happens all the time.” She said, her voice cracking a bit. Ugh! Why show a sign of weakness now? ‘Come on Repa! Tough it up! Don’t be such a baby’ She kept telling herself as the conversation moved onto another topic. Ebony’s response, the whole ‘cant wait’ actually made Repa laugh some. It took her mind away from the momentary depression she was feeling and brought her back to where she was before. Happy. “Oh don’t worry, it’ll be fun…whenever you go that is. Personally I try to stay as far away from that place as possible now and days.” She grinned not wanting to go through the details seeing as that would bring her right back to that upsetting topic of her oldest brother dying in war due to her stupidity. No one liked admitting that, even if it was the truth. Dinner was done, food gone, bill paid, and tip left of table. Repa was ready to get rolling out of there and get back home. Well, if you could really call that little condo a home. She couldn’t. “You ready to go?” Repa sure was, in fact she just wanted to get home so she could relax and try to clear her thoughts. Now they were just clouded around disaster and what not, which drew her back to Cloud. Oh the stress, Which was not a friend of Repa’s…though it seemed to hang around 24/7.

Black Researcher Let's get this over with so that I can get back to work. “Ah, it’s okay. It was an accident…happens all the time.”Ebony could hear the cracking in Repa's voice, and just merely dropped the subject. It was obviously a tough one for Repa, so she made a mental note not to try and ever mention it again. She culdn't bear to see her new friend upset. “Oh don’t worry, it’ll be fun…whenever you go that is. Personally I try to stay as far away from that place as possible now and days.”And then, Ebony was dumbstruck. As far away as possible? Wasn't she a princess? You would think she would like the luxury and everything...well, Ebony would...for a short while at least. But, now that she thought about it, Repa didn't exactly look like one of those damsels in distress, and neither was Ebony for that matter. A slight grin appeared Ebony's face. She would like this princess. Nothing like the snobs she had to protect for her escorts. “You ready to go?”She nodded, and stood up, her grin still on her face. The food was pretty good. She would have to scour the menu next time she was here, if she ever got around to it. "Sounds like a plan to me."Ebony decided she would just call it a night, and head out for the library tomorrow, and try to answer some of her question that were still lingering at the back of her mind.

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. Repa probably knew by now that she had made a weird impression. Weren’t princesses supposed to be dolled up everywhere they went? Weren’t princesses supposed to always be polite and proper? And didn’t they love the life of luxury? Repa was one messed up case if she was supposed to be classified with those things. Well maybe not messed up, she was just her own type of princess…A free willed, and perhaps not as prim and proper as she should be. It didn’t bother her what people felt about her. She was Repa, take it or leave it. So she just grinned smugly a bit, accepting herself once again. It was good that Ebony seemed to as well. “Well let’s get to that tour shall we?” Repa said leaving a few bucks on the table for a tip as they set off out of the diner towards the apartment/condo complex. It was really enjoyable to have some company around, truly it was. Having someone to talk to, and now something they had in common. They knew Josh, so that could spark up a few good conversations in the future probably. Hopefully their friendship worked out and everything. Repa would hate for things to go bad between the sister and the girlfriend of a boy they both loved, in their own ways of course. “So Ebony…you’re from Cocoon…you are in a relationship with my brother…that’s really all I know about you. Anything special about you? Like talents or something?” that was a good subject to rest on for now. They could exchange stories and what not until they got to the complex, then a tour, and probably call it a night. Repa was just curious about her new roommate. Josh hadn’t said that much except that she was beautiful and amazing etc…it didn’t say much as for personality or talent wise. What could this girl do? She was a L’cie researcher…so she had to be able to do something. Was Ebony even open to the subject? Hopefully.

Black Researcher Let's get this over with so that I can get back to work. “Well let’s get to that tour shall we?”Ebony nodded, and followed Repa out of the restaurant back on to the unfamiliar Gaia streets...at least to Ebony, that is. “So Ebony…you’re from Cocoon…you are in a relationship with my brother…that’s really all I know about you. Anything special about you? Like talents or something?”She looked over at Repa for a second, before casting her eyes back on the road in front of her. Josh really hadn't told her? With the way he said it was cool and everything, she thought he wouldn't be able to stop talking about. Especially to his sister. But...now that she thought about it, she had threatened to throw him off a cliff. Huh. The guy did uphold his promise...even to his sister. "Special about me? I personally think that I'm nothing special, but Josh doesn't really think so. I'm surprised he didn't tell you what kind of things I can do, but I did...sorta threaten to throw him off a cliff if he told. You'll find out when the time calls for it. Trust me. I don't really like to use my "gift" for simple matters. What about you? Anything special about you that I need to keep tabs on?"

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. As they walked Repa listened to Ebony speak. Josh did tend to keep his word anytime he made a promise so it was no surprise to her that he hadn’t said anything. Especially if a girl like Ebony had threatened to throw him off a cliff, then he was very lucky to have kept his mouth shut. Repa just laughed a bit after Ebony said the cliff thing about Josh, it was part of that…soldier side of him. If it wasn’t anyone else’s business, they didn’t need to know. All was confidential in Josh’s eyes unless it was about the person or had some effect on them. “That sounds just like Josh to me. A good thing about him…he keeps his word and holds a lot of things secret.” Repa pointed out before the question she had once asked was reversed to her. Um. Yay. Repa slowed her pace a bit and tried to think if she really wanted to spill her guts right now, maybe later? Or would that just upset the girl? Shouldn’t Ebony know just in case something were to happen? It was probably a good idea to tell, even now, even if she didn’t want to. “Um. Well kinda…Josh didn’t mention much about me did he? Oh well…again with the secrecy. But uh…I have a special ability that can…cause some real damage.” She said rubbing the back of her head trying to put the words together carefully. “I can…whats the word…annihilate any living thing really…it’s a genetic mishap I think. But that’s why I wear gloves because its only the palms of my hands that has this effect.” She shrugged hoping Ebony wouldn’t be too…alarmed by this. “Heheh…pretty special huh?” She said with a nervous laugh.

Josh had said that he wouldn't tell anybody what kind of magic she could do, but she had threatened him. Of course, she wasn't exactly sure if she would even go through with it now, now that she...loved him...Eh, she would probably throw him off one anyway and then save him when he lost hope of being saved. Yeah, she'd do that. “Um. Well kinda…Josh didn’t mention much about me did he? Oh well…again with the secrecy. But uh…I have a special ability that can…cause some real damage. I can…whats the word…annihilate any living thing really…it’s a genetic mishap I think. But that’s why I wear gloves because its only the palms of my hands that has this effect. Heheh…pretty special huh?”No he hadn't told her about Repa. In fact, he didn't really tell her much at all about his sister, only that he was looking for her...Annihilate? Now, that sounded interesting. She glanced down at the gloves that covered Repa's hand and just cocked an eyebrow. Boy, would Repa be surprised when she saw what Ebony could do. "Yeah...pretty special."

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. Normally after hearing information like this a person would either stare at her in shock or just run off. What babies some people were, but not Ebony, she didn’t seem to mind and that was good. It was all Repa wanted, was to be considered anything but a killer. It wasn’t her fault, it’s not like she could help some of the things she was born with, it was just…there. No changing it. She let out a silent heavy breath now that everything was out in the open about her little…talent. It was only the fact that Ebony didn’t run off that was the real pleaser about now. Hopefully it stayed this way, no matter what the differences were. “Heh, special may be the wrong term…but it works for now” Repa said with an extra light chime to her voice. She was obviously happy, but not like psycho happy or anything, just relieved really. Now back on the streets of Midgar Repa looked around, the sky was a dim blueish gold as the sun was setting if it had not already, finding their way back to the condo would take no time at all, so naturally knowing the way, Repa led them back and once they were outside she looked up at the building stepping on one of the stairs and stopped before looking back at Ebony. “Thank you Ebony…I really appreciate the way you’ve treated me so far.” Random? No not really. It was making Repa think the whole way home. Ebony didn’t judge her, so she wouldn’t do the same when it came time for Ebony’s talent to become known, though she was very curious to what it was. Could it be worse than Repa’s? Or just plain fantastic? All Repa knew was she had great respect for this girl now. “My brother is lucky to have you…though if he sets one toe out of line with you…Then you can throw him off a cliff…unless I do first.”

Black Researcher Let's get this over with so that I can get back to work. “Heh, special may be the wrong term…but it works for now”Ebony nodded, and silently agreed with her. You couldn't exactly call the Black Arts a specialty neither. They were more like something that had to be handled with care, and had to be held in the right hands, or else, mass chaos... “Thank you Ebony…I really appreciate the way you’ve treated me so far.”They finally stopped in front of the condo building. Ebony didn't notice at first, but she quickly broke out of her reverie at the mention of the thanks, and glanced over at Repa. She then closed her eyes, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Heh, no problem. It's quite unusual for me to be accepted so quickly as well, so don't worry about it."“My brother is lucky to have you…though if he sets one toe out of line with you…Then you can throw him off a cliff…unless I do first.”Her eyes snapped open, and she turned her ehad towards Repa, who was pretty much grinning. She let out a small chuckle at the thought. "How about we throw him off together? That way we both get the satisfaction."

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. Seems these two were similar. Both probably judged at first glance and what not, but really they were very good people. Just…a little different. And Repa was glad to be accepted here in Ebony’s eyes, and Repa treated her just the same, like a normal person, nothing more than that. Just because you held some sort of power didn’t mean you were weird or a freak or something, it just meant you were different, and people shouldn’t judge you based on that…it’s what you do with those abilities that people should judge you for. But Repa knew very few people like there, most people were hypocrites, they cared for only the famous heroes or what they thought was right, when really, what they were cheering for was wrong, like the sanctum Fal’Cie Repa had heard about, there was so much controversy over everything anymore, it was hard to not be judged…or labeled. “You and me both…” Repa stated with a small smile. She now knew they would get along fantastically. Starting up the stairway and into the building, Repa looked around the lobby. It was empty as usual but that was okay, it was sort of like a hotel in a way, but that was fine, so long as Repa had a room and what not, she was happy. “Well if that’s the case then…he will surely stay in line…but if not then yeah we both can throw him off. I call that fair.” She laughed a bit walking to an elevator and holding the doors open so that Ebony could get in. “I’m just thankful for his happiness right now. Usually his focus is only work and army stuff, but now…he’s actually taken time to…er…stop and smell the roses of life.” What a lame comment, but it made sense. (sorry its short..ish)

Black Researcher Let's get this over with so that I can get back to work. "You and me both…”Ebony smiled as well, glad to know that she now had someone else who could at least confirm to her feelings...even if that other person was royalty. “Well if that’s the case then…he will surely stay in line…but if not then yeah we both can throw him off. I call that fair.”She chuckled once again, as they walked into the empty lobby. Thank goodness. Even with Repa's little outburst at the restaurant, that didn't mean the people here wouldn't stop staring...if they did stare. “I’m just thankful for his happiness right now. Usually his focus is only work and army stuff, but now…he’s actually taken time to…er…stop and smell the roses of life.”Ebony almost stopped walking, but she was able to control herself, and continue on. Dear Fal'Cie that sounded almost exactly like her...except for the army part. She was always just worried about her work, before Josh ahd come along. There were some nights where she didn't even get any sleep. Of course, with the way Repa ended that comment...well, in a sense she had also...stopped to smell the roses? She walked into the elevator, and just let the doors close, as she looked off to the side. "Hehe...yeah..."(Sorry for the crappiness. Muse has been on low for some time.)

Princess at HeartYeah I'm a Princess...but I'm no Damsel in Distress...Far from it. After getting through the elevator and up to their floor, Repa was starting to think back on some of the past. This topic of conversation before about ‘special powers’ and ‘talents’ got her to thinking about…those events that caused her to run off to Gaia…to run away from family and any bit of hope she had. Walking out of the elevator Repa seemed a bit dazed, almost like she was focusing too hard, but not really knowing what she was doing. She pulled a key out of her pocket without even thinking about it, and unlocked their room door. She walked in and didn’t bother to wait for Ebony to go in first, she just left the door open. Her first instinct right now was to just sit down and get all this thinking through, so first she sat down, rested her head in her hands and looked deep in thought. Repa’s eyes were glazed over not blinking as the memories flooded to her mind and spread like wildfire. These weren’t happy memories, utterly horrible memories, and soon Ebony would figure that out. After a few good moments of zoning out Repa blinked again and just stared at the carpet. “Ebony…have you ever felt so bad for something…that the guilt just ate away at you from the inside out…?” She said as her voice seemed less…peppy as it was before. “There’s something else you should know about me…” She said not looking at Ebony, just keeping her focus on the ground and her thoughts. “When I said someone died before…back on my home world…it was my fault. Just know it’s just something I cant seem to get over…and its moments like this where I just want someone to listen.” She said now actually looking at Ebony, her eyes watery and a bit red as she tried her very hardest to hold back her tears infront of her new roommate.
