Over the ocean a sudden spark of electrical bolts where tearing into the sky, the bluish bight color of the bolts seemed to outshine the sun itself. in rapid succession the bolts grew in number and in a few seconds there was a large ball of electrical energy, circling and growing slowly in power. It was then the nature of the ball showed itself.
Flying out of the ball was a black raven haired man clad in a leather coat and pants falling to the ocean gracefully head first. Half a second later four flying monsters followed behind as the ball of blue lightning suddenly disappeared. The deep blue eyes man turned to look over his right shoulder to notice he had company falling with him and he smiled widely. Suddenly he turned so that his back was facing the approaching ocean as he pulled a pair of black customized pistols and leveled them at his foes.
The monsters launched fire mana attacks in a series of projectile fire balls, but this merc was ready for that. Attaching is magic cancellation ability to his guns the Raven hair man began to rapidly shoot the fire balls, when bullet meet fire the fire seemed to dissipate and disappear. Left with little choice the four monsters charged, a bad move.
holstering his pistols Darious smiled even larger as the first one came in range. Suddenly Darious produced a hilt without a blade as the first monster tried to slice through his chest with its claws. The raven haired man spun away from the attack and placed his feet squarely on its head and propelled himself towards the other three monsters at a speed that seemed to appear as flight.
Suddenly a 36 inch long cyan coloured energy blade was produced from the hilt to reveal that the raven haired man was in possession of a very high tech weapon. Passing two of the flying monsters the cuts cam so quick all that was visible was the contrails they left behind. The merc had a surprise for the monster he launched himself from, reaching into his coat and throwing a small round object it it.
The 4th flying monster meet a different end as Darious pulled one of his pistols and shoved it into his mouth. With a wicked smile on his face he pulled the trigger and as the Raven haired man fell away he cut it in two for good measure. As Darious turned and fell gracefully back to earth he passed through the explosion that was the final flying monster dispatched by his grenade and landed with a splash in the ocean.
Silence fell over the area, the fate of the merc unknown, then he rose out of the ocean onto the beach. Soaked to the bone but maintained his poise Darious took around his new surroundings. " Great, now am I going to get pain when im not even on the same planet anymore!" His voice carried as he shouted in anger to the sky.
With a sigh his anger was gone, seeing no point in wasting the energy, " Well i guess i could find work here, but where is here?" He asked himself out-loud, unaware to anyone around who could of seen him or heard him.

[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! How could everything seem to relaxed even with what they had to face? Vanille and her had always been best friends, that might have something to do with it? She hated the thought of Vanille being unhappy, and she knew Nille was upset about her insisting they complete their focus. Still she wouldn't let her turn into a cie'th. She couldn't allow that to happen!! And if their places were reversed Fang knew Vanille would be doing the same thing for her. It warmed her heart, knowing her friend had her back and always would, but that didn't help the fact that they had to face the focus. She didn't want to crush Vanille's thought that Oerba would probably be the same, not to many changes. She couldn't say she totally agreed. After so many years a lot had been bound to change, hopefully it wasn't to much, and those flowers and chocobo's were still there. They should still be there! She would be sad if they weren't, and she knew Vanille would be sad as well. "I sure hope they're all still there, Like you said...they probably are." She was trying to sound firm in her belief that they indeed were still there and Gran Pulse was still the same. When Vanille sighed Fang hugged her again before drawing her an arms length away and looking at her. "Don't say that! Things will be fine, and Oerba will be just like we remember it as! You'll see when we go there ok??" She hated that frown on her face! Hated her feeling sad, and though she still had a brave face, Fang could feel how sad she was. Fang wasn't going to let it get to them, the sadness. She wanted them to be happy! She hated having to act like an emotionless crab all the time, she wanted to be happy, for Vanille to be happy! She smiled when Vanille found her spunk again and said that they were going to show Cocoon what they were made of. "You can say that again! They're gonna be in awe of what we can do, no wimpy skimpy Cocoon L'cie to find here!" She exclaimed, happy that Vanille wasn't so sad anymore. She was right...things would be alright, somehow, someway they would all work out! She smiled at her before suddenly freezing. A voice shouted out, not that far away. Brows lifted as she glanced at Vanille before looking around. The sun had begun to set, sending a plethora of colors spewing out around them. Taking a few steps in the direction of the voice, she hesitated before motioning for Vanille to follow her. Stepping around a large pile of boulders, she saw a man standing there glaring around him...who was this man now?

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille just sighed and nodded as Fang spoke, those flowers would surely be there, and chocobos too! If they weren’t extinct or anything…but everything else, Vanille wasn’t so sure about, at least it all being in one piece. After looking around the vestige, how old things looked compared to Cocoon, it just seemed highly unlikely that things would be all put together and what not. “Okay okay, I believe you…Oerba will be…it’ll be fantastic.” She said lifting her head and smiling at Fang, trying to keep that positive attitude going once again, no need to be the downer on this good moment, this happy moment…which may be the last one they ever had. “Fang…we’ll be okay…I don’t think anything could stop us right now…we’ll find a way around this focus thing and keep me from going Cei’th…I promise.” Vanille said with a warm smile and positive thought in mind, it was good to think about. That there was away to keep Cocoon safe, and herself. If only she could have them both, for right now it was one or the other, but still a good thought none the less. “You know…Cocoon isn’t as bad as we were told it was…I haven’t seen anything horrible yet…no vipers.” She said looking around before following Fang, wherever she was going. Vanille followed and stopped after catching glimpse of the new person on the scene. Well that thought went right down the drain as she thought that this man might be a Cocoon citizen…or worse, part of the army force. “Fang…you don’t think he is from around here do you?” Vanille didn’t exactly hear what this guy had said to himself before, so this was just a precaution. “What if he is part of Cocoon’s army! He looks like a soldier…I Don’t want to get attacked…not here…not now…” She groaned frustrated. “Come on…we should just leave.” She said pulling on Fang’s arm before they were seen or heard, though Vanille tried hard to whisper, her high pitched voice tended to carry sometimes…

Proceeding the self comments he made a moment ago Darious was now quiet, still and enjoying where he was. The ocean spray hitting his strong and emotionless face that was carried on a cool breeze that provided relief on such a warm day. The smell of the ocean filling his senses and the sounds pleasing his hearing, but the sound of the ocean wasn't the only thing being carried on the wind.
Being what he was Darious was very sensitive to his surroundings, he had to be to survive as a mercenary. It was good that he heard a young woman talking to someone named Fang, he couldn't quite make out what she was saying after that but the tone said it all. Worry, and fear filled the voice he was hearing and he couldn't help but smile. Yeah well at least I know people are scared of me here as well, and they dont even know me. A small chuckled escaped from his lips as he turned in the direction of the voice.
" You know i can hear you right? Haven't you been taught spying on strangers is bad.?" Darious voice was calm and light in tone as his face wore a smile. " Come out from behind there, I promise im not gonna hurt you, hell I don't even know where I am."

[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! Fang forced a smile onto her lips, though her heart wasn’t in it. When Nille talked about not having seen any vipers she wished she could agree. She had seen all too many PSICOM soldiers, and to her…well they were just about as viper-ish as they came. In Gran Pulse l’cie hadn’t been this shunned, but to the citizens of Cocoon seemed to think they were like some 4 headed beasts roaming the place. Never mind the fact that they looked and were humans, just…more powerful humans. Ok she admitted to herself, We aren’t even close to human…but it isn’t our faults! She understood why someone would shun her. She was hard to deal with, stubborn and wouldn’t quit, but Vanille?! The girl was…was…she struggled to find a word that would fit. Perfect was the word she settled on. Ever since waking here the only friendly face to them was…well each other. Trying to force her thoughts back Fang forced a more believable smile on her face, hiding her doubts from Vanille. “I guess you could say its pretty…void of…” She didn’t want to lie, but the word vipers stuck in her throat. Thankfully the entrance of the new man saved her from lying. She focused her cat like green eyes on man and heard Vanille speak from behind her. She heard the frustration in her voice and the tug at her arm. She was just about to agree with Vanille when she realized that her whispering voice was somewhat loud. Despite the fact that this man would probably hear them and they were going to have to fight him, she smiled.
Vanille was just too adorable for her own good. She might have been mad that she hadn’t kept her voice down, but she was not angry at all. She turned her gaze toward her young best friend and the smile lingered on her face. Sure enough a second later the man’s voice drifted in their direction. Right hand reached back to make sure her lance was secured where it always was. Her left reached out and settled on Vanille’s shoulder, she tried to be reassuring, whatever this man was, he was no match for them. Two Pulse l’cie, they were strong and had experience. Besides she was more stubborn then many people stuck together. One look at them wielding their weapons and he would be running for cover. Tall and lithe, Fang’s gaze went over her shoulder in the direction the man was. “To late now.” She said so low it wouldn’t be heard by anyone but Vanille.
Giving her a crooked smile, Fang turned and in three graceful steps she was out from behind the rocks. She stood strait and tall, anyone could see she wasn’t the normal damsel in distress type. With eyes that could kill and a lance that could kill…more, (lol xD) she was far from defenseless. And scared? She had never been scared of another human being. Yet something caught her attention. He didn’t know where he was? Meaning he wasn’t from this part of Cocoon and was lost? Or did it hold more meaning then that? She looked at him wearily, but with nothing more. “I’m not scared of you hurting us, even if you tried.” Was the first thing that came from her mouth, her voice calm and cool. Arms were crossed and no hint of the smile she had sent Vanille’s way could be seen. If it came to that, she would grab her lance and show him exactly what they were…l’cie.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Vanille just shook her head and rolled her eyes a bit as Vanille said this place was pretty. “Okay, I wouldn’t push it. Sure the beach is nice but…I’d much rather be on Gran Pulse with all those lovely flowers.” Vanille smiled staring around the place, it seemed the only naturey area was indeed the beach, but that was okay. Maybe a few side area’s that were preserved or something, but nothing like Pulse. The whole planet was wild and untamed, that’s how things should be, never messed with, just left the way it should be. After following Fang, seeing the newcomer and getting frustrated trying to get Fang to move away and for them to get out of the area, well it was too late. Apparently Vanille was a lot louder than she thought she was. “Oops.” She whispered to herself after Fang said it was too late, which it was. “Won’t hurt us.” Vanille scoffed a bit to herself more quietly this time as she followed Fang out from behind the rocks and into view. Her hands were on her hips ready to pull back and grab her binding rod if she needed to. But for now, she didn’t think there was going to be any need for a fight. “You don’t know where you are?” She said raising an eyebrow and looking around. “You’re not from Cocoon?” What was going on? If he wasn’t from Cocoon then he had to be from Pulse, but if he were from Pulse he would know he was on Cocoon…was there…other worlds out there? The thought was mind blowing, but that would be a subject for another day. It made Vanille rather curious now to who this guy was, and where he was from. “Who are you? Where are you from?” She threw out her questions quickly, more coming to mind but she figured she would start with two for now instead of playing 20 questions. By now her mind was completely off Oerba, or being a L’Cie. It was on something much bigger…other worlds… (bleh)

he watched as the two drop dead gorgeous women stepped back from behind the rocks, and better yet they didn't act helpless. Their stance showed strength and courage, qualities Darious found appealing. If they took a closer look at him they would find he was no slouch either. His right eye clearly was of a man not afraid of death but ruthlessly and unmercifully dealt it out to his enemies. His stance and strength was that of a SOLDIER, but his reaction to Fang's threat was unexpected.
Her threat caused him to start laughing, first it was a small thing and grew into a loud barrel laugh. After a moment Darious regained self control and gave a smile to both Fang and Vanille. " You don't have to worry i would never dream of trying to hurt two such beautiful creatures like yourself, in fact i can think of alot nicer thing i would like to do." His voice was cool, calm, and had a touch of playful flirtatiousness attached to it.
Darious continued to come closer to the two of them, his hands clearly free at his side as he did so and addressed Vanille's question's. " Yeah my dimensional transporter got fried when i hit the water, it would of told me where i was but with the battery dead im going to have to depend on the locals." Darious made a slow hand gesture to point out he was asking them.
" No im not from Cocoon, but i have done some work here before, I hope they have forgotten about the base i blew up." Darious rubbed the back of head head nervously remembering that job.
" Oh my apologies, I should have properly introduce myself, the name is Darious." He offered a smiled bow to both Fang and Vanille and slowly rose back up. " Might i have your names?"

[~Lithe Dragoon~] I'll tear down the sky if it'll save her! Of course, everyone would rather be on Gran Pulse then on this planet. It was just human nature. She really did miss Pulse. Was it just that Cocoon meant bad things? Or was it that she wished that Vanille and she wouldn’t have to do this? It was so messed up, but she wished they could go back there. That was only wishful thinking of course; it wouldn’t be able to happen, at least not for a long while. A depressing thought. When Vanille whispered oops Fang just smiled. She didn’t feel any apprehension about the man that was down there. It was one guy, they had each had to deal with a whole heck of a lot more then just one guy before, so he didn’t cause her much concern at all.
Fang just stood with her arms crossed as Vanille kept questioning him. She would like him to answer of course, but she let Vanille try to get it out of him. She was better at the whole intimidation thing anyway. Green eyes watched the man, waiting for his reaction and what he was going to say. Eyes went from the man to Vanille and back again before settling on him. She might not look mean but she was definitely not being extremely friendly. She sometimes wished she could be like Vanille, outgoing, friendly, but she was not. She was the cautious one, and this was no time to let her guard down.
Fang showed no emotion when the man started laughing after she spoke. It hadn’t been a threat, just a word of caution. Now she felt irritated, for obviously he didn’t take either of them seriously. The past 500 years flashed through her mind. The fighting, the pain, the challenge, the focus, the fear, the strength, the exhaustion. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him then. Men, they didn’t think women could touch them. She almost felt like turning and leaving, he wasn’t worth their time.
When he spoke Fang almost rolled her eyes. She managed to catch herself in time, but she actually smiled when he tried to flirt with them. It was a smile of knowing though, knowing he was just making a fool of himself. She would have laughed in his face but she thought better of it, instead remaining in her passive stance.
When he kept coming closer Fang’s eyes narrowed slightly. Had he been carrying a weapon or had come one step closer she would have her lance out. As it was she was just watching him, body poised and yet relaxed. When he stated that he would have to ask the locals and swept his hand around Fang’s eyes laughed at him. “Well then you had better go find some locals.” She said as cheerfully as she could.
When he asked their names she regarded him for a long time. She knew she couldn’t trust him, couldn’t trust anyone, but what would it hurt to tell him their names? No one knew their names, at least not many. That might be because their world was 500 years away, crouching beneath the world called Cocoon…Gran Pulse. After looking at him she decided that she did not care if he knew her name. After all, what could one guy do against her and Bahamut or Vanille and Hecatoncheir? “Fang” She said softly, her eyes holding his own gaze. “If you aren’t from Cocoon, where are you from?” Her question came softly as she waited for him to answer her. She wasn’t asking just to pass the time; she was going to get an answer.

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now. Vanille shook her head slightly once Darious started laughing at Fang’s threat. No need to tempt Fang and watch this turn into a complete disaster from the start. But without any huffing or puffing of Vanille’s irritated attitude, she just stood there, binding rod out, shifting her weight around from her left leg to her right leg, and back again in a constant motion. Her sharp green eyes narrowed, she could she this wasn’t going to be the most pleasant of conversations, and this man didn’t want to see her and Fang in action…especially with two powerful Eidolons to summon just to lay the smack down even harder. They were L’Cie…much stronger than your average human…easily they could wipe Darious out…if he was the average human. Oh well, if push came to shove, Hecatoncheir would be summoned and that would put an end to this. With a roll of her eyes Vanille slowed down her shifting pace and stood still, no longer really in a defensive ready to fight mode. Her binding rod hung at her side as she raised an eyebrow at his attempt at flirting with the two. Personally she didn’t like this type, she was more of a…crack a joke get some giggles and be nice type. That’s pretty much what Fate was right? Fate…where was he? Oh back to interrogation. Vanille didn’t really bother to respond to the flirty comments, she just nodded a bit and waited for Darious to answer her questions, she almost started to get impatient, humming a bit and tapping her foot as if she were waiting…which she was. Depend on the locals, Vanille was about to pipe up and speak but Fang beat her to the comment. Go find some locals. Basically they didn’t have the time to sit around and mingle. There was a focus to escape…or complete. If you asked Vanille, it was to escape, Fang, to complete. Either way these two girls didn’t have the time to sit here and chat about the typical, who, what, when, where, why, and how. “So you’re not from Cocoon…” That made things a little better, though why should they believe him? You couldn’t trust anyone these days, but Vanille was almost too kind hearted to see the evil in people…the lies they tell, although she herself had told multiple…and would tell tons more in the future, starting with the Purge. “I guess that makes things a little…easier I suppose.” She said flipping her binding rod up and setting it back on her bear sash on her back. An introduction was indeed in order. He introduced himself, Fang stated her name, and Vanille just did the same with as light nod. “Vanille.” She said clearly as her tone softened up some from the distrust from earlier. She let her eyes glance towards Fang as she spoke up once again, asking where Darious was from, which Vanille had asked earlier, but it seemed she wasn’t heard. Oh well, it would be nice to know…for her it was Either Cocoon or Pulse…was there more out there? The idea made Vanille’s head spin as she thought of a world with more vipers…more creatures…and more people against anything foreign. That would set up for a lot more problems…just what they needed…more people hating them. Words: 662 Muse: Eh...so-so. Notes: Its a bleh post...sorry i totally forgot about this thread >_>
