Out on the outskirts of Edge, it was quiet. The only sound being the wind, and the uncommon roar of a bike. The sun blazed down from a bright blue sky, and all seemed almost undisturbed. Almost.
Out of nowhere, a big, black pentagram appeared seemingly out of the air. It swirled slowly, sitting there, almost waiting. And then one foot emerged, before a whole body came through the pentagram. A young girl of about 18 with short cropped hair, stood there as the pentagram disappeared just as quickly as it came. She scanned the area, before sighing and started mumbling, most likely just talking to herself.
"So this is Gaia. I expected something more...grand."
She pulled a small book from one of her long sleeves, and started to leaf through it, taking a few steps forward. Not noticing the young man off in the distance.

"Hey there...New in town?"
Ebony hadn't noticed the man until he was close enough where she could hear him yell out. She turned her head slightly to glance at him long enough to jot down his looks mentally. Spiked yellow hair, bright blue eyes, and a black uniform. Simple enough.
"I guess you could say that. I'm from Cocoon. I just came here to check out a few things before heading out."
Ebony did find it suspicious that a man of his age was out here in the middle of nowhere. Either he had some sort of special reason, or he was here on other terms. Such as perhaps being a theif. Of course, if he was a thief, Ebony would just blast him to an oblivion and walk on her merry way. Nothing scared her, except for a few exception she didn't exactly want to speak of.

"...Yeah...really."
Ebony took a glance at her surroundings. Flat plains with what looked like a metal city of some sort off in the distance. Skyscapers reached up to the sky, and the clouds just seemed to circle around the peaks, as if they were gods. The city of Edge. Ebony had heard stories from PSICOM soldiers that were patrolling Cocoon. Though she just mainly eavesdropped, she was able to pick up on some pretty interesting news. Such as a foreign L'Cie.
"By chance, have you ever heard L'Cie? If you haven't, then jsut disregard my question."
(They have computers at the hotel =3)

Cloud had to choose his words carefully....He couldn't hint off to this girl that he was one....Since she was from Cocoon...What if she was a spy...?
"Yes I have.....We have news channels...And how our major corporation found out about them is beyond me....What do you know about them?"
Cloud was just being like her....Asking his questions....He had to find out some way what she was here for...Should he let her be on her way into Midgar/Edge? Or would he have to stop her? There was some thing strange about her....He couldn't put his finger on it....But her aura was dark....Or was it? That's what he was gonna find out....

Ebony's eyes narrowed as she heard him explain that he knew what a L'Cie was. He wasn't going into detail how much he knew, but he probably understood what one was. But this was another world, and with L'Cie's being native to Cocoon, something must have happened.
"...I know the basics and more."
She opened her book to a blank page and reached into her bag, that was slung over her shoulder and resting against her waist, bringing out a pen. She quickly jotted down a few things in her book, not looking up.
"But I don't fear them, like most people do. What about you? What do you know about the L'Cie?"

Ebony lowered her head, and looked at the man through an upward glance. He was hiding something, and not doing a very good job. Ebony knew how to lie, she was actually quite a pro at it, but his act was just sad. But it was probably a good idea to go along with what he said, so that she didn't make herself look even more suspicious.
"L'Cie's are people branded by Fal'Cie. In a way, the Fal'Cie that brands the L'Cie is the master, and the L'Cie itself is a servant. The L'Cie are given a Focus to complete, a task in a way. When they complete that Focus, the L'Cie forms into a type of crystal which they then sleep in for however long time goes on. They could be asleep for as short as 5 minutes, or as long as a millenium. If they do not complete the Focus, the L'Cie turns into a C'ieth, a monster. Some people see it as eternal life, while most fear the L'Cie. Is that enough?"
Ebony let go a sigh. That was the second time she had to explain the concept of the L'Cie. She placed the book and pen in her hand back into her bag, and turned away, setting out towards the city out on the horizon.
"Your planet may be in danger if someone acquires the Focus to have to destroy it. Until then, you're safe...for now."

"You haven't told me any thing new....I've done some research...And I know all what you just said....I guess that pretty much sums it all up....And from what you just said....My world is safe for now....Don't judge to quickly....Ugh!!"
Ebony closed her eyes and shook her head, as the man said he already knew what she had told him. If he knew, then why did he ask for information? But her head immediately snapped up when he heard him grunt out in pain. H was kneeled over slightly, clunching his stomach. She took a quick step forward before seeing something poke out from his glove. She looked closer, before realizing it was a mark. The mark of the L'Cie. She hesitated for just a second, before moving foward once again. She did not fear the L'Cie, so there was no need to fear him.
She placed a hand on his shoulder, and just let him know she was there. Sadly, she didn't know any healing magic that could help him.
"Hey...You gonna be ok?"

Ebony moved her hand back when the man nodded that he was okay. Color seemed to be coming back to his face now also. It must be the mark. She decided that she should probably keep quiet that she knew about it now, just so that he didn't strike at her or anything.
"I...I'll be alright....It only last a few seconds now....What....What's your name....?"
"My name is Ebony Blackwell. And may I ask yours?"
(Sorry for the shortness. Hopefully they'll get better. XP)

It took him a minute to regain the senses around him and control his sickness....As he looked up at her he took in a deep breath.
"Cloud...Cloud Strife....Nice to meet you...." He said as he was finally standing completely up right now....."Sorry....I...I've not been myself lately...." He apologized....He was so scared that she would find out what he was....He couldn't let any one from Cocoon find out who he was....What if they were spies.....? That would not go very well on Cloud's part....But she seemed nice enough. He didn't even know that she caught glimpse of his mark....And was just trying to excuse it....Cloud was not the same now a days any ways.....He's changed a lot since he became a l'Cie..... ((No worries^^ I'm sorry for my lack of posting^^))
