Why did she have to be so stubborn? This was all Squall's fault for even mentioning he was going to go to Timber. He should have kept silent and just slipped out one day before she could even notice. Then he would have to did with the consequences. That would not be pretty at all. Trying to make her change her mind was an easy task. When it came down to the wire Squall was usually the one who would fall back and been to the other's will. He let out deep sigh and finally gazed back at her.
"Fine... I was just... Worried. That's all."
Honestly, Squall did not what the problem was with just bring Zell. He was plenty strong. The only major problem was that the kid jumped the gun a little too much. Squall was sure he could keep Zell in line and this would be good for bonding, right? He shrugged slightly and started to walk again, heading toward the centrer of Balamb Town. "Zell... He's reliable. I can count on him and he's strong..." He responded, "With just the two of us, we shouldn't draw too much of attention. If we were to get into any trouble I know I would have no problem handling it with Zell." Squall rarely praised anyone, especially Zell. Squall did respect Zell and all of his abilities... He hoped that Rinoa would not mention this to Zell because he would never live it down. |

"I know....I know...."Moving out of his way, Rinoa began walking beside him once again, listening to him explain why he had chosen Zell. She was aware of all this, and she understood Squall's need to keep her out of danger. Even with her abilities, she was important to him. So if he could keep her out of action, he would do so. Though she might not like it at times, she knew his reasons behind it...most of the time. On this occasion, she was overreacting . "I worry about you too...Especially with this talk of portals and random attacks. I know you're the best but still....I can't help but be scared for you, since you're never afraid for yourself..."Looking towards the ground, Rinoa then placed her hands behind her as she smiled somewhat. "But...I'm overreacting....I can stay here and protect the garden with the others. Just as long as you promise me that you two will be careful. That means no jumping into the unknown ok?"
She really did love Squall. The girl loved everything about him, even his lone wolf thinking at times. Even though he had a non-emotional expression, she knew that he cared about everyone within the garden and each of their friends. He would do anything to protect them, all of them, even risking his own life. Sometimes she wondered if he was ever afraid of anything, but she usually thought it was a silly thing to consider. Of course he had his fears....but they always seemed to be for others and not him. Did he ever truly worry about himself?
"Otherwise, I'm going after you..."

He was glad that she did understand the reasoning behind keeping her away from danger. He could bare the thought of losing anyone close to him, especially Rinoa. She was a sorceress, a powerful sorceress. To top that off she was a soceress was controlled by Ultimecia. Those simple things didn't sit well with the rest of the world. All people, all anyone ever would see in Rinoa is the power that she holds and what it was capable of. They were to blind by fear to see that she was not capable of hurting innocent people.

Squall quickly put an end to the words he was going to speak. He knew that Rinoa would like what he would have said. Being SeeD meant he would always be living a dangerous lifestyle. It was not his place to question rather he come back from a mission alive or not. His, their job was to finish their objective no matter what. Honestly, it was a sad lifestyle.
"I'll be alright. I promise you. I'm trained for this type of stuff."
Truthfully, Squall was afraid. He had always been afraid of battle rather it was for his friends or for himself. He just tried to remain calm and keep his composure, especially now since he was a leader and people looked up to him. Squall walked a few feet in front of Rinoa and turned around so that he was walking backwards. He might as well break the bad news to her now before someone else blurted it out.

"Is that why you don't want me to come with you?"Rinoa's eyes focused upon the ground, a calm expression taking the place of her smile. So that was it? The Witch was back and he didn't want her getting in the way. Or rather, he didn't want her to get hurt. Either way, he was worried for her again. Thus why he wanted her to stay where it was safe. But could the garden even protect them now? "How do you know that she is?"Was there something else that he wasn't telling her? Had he actually seen Ultimecia?Did she attack someone somewhere? Was she already possessing someone else? There was so much to worry about, Rinoa wasn't sure whether to scream or to get upset that she was alive in the first place. |

Ultimecia was the major threat against Rinoa and the SeeDs. Actually, he thought that those strange creatures had nothing to do with Ultimecia. They were too easily defeated to even be mentioned as spawn of Ultimecia. What worried Squall was that she might be capable of entering their time period without Time Compression, if what Seifer said was true. There was a positive to that, she would not have to use Rinoa as a vessel.
"Seifer. He had an encounter with Ultimecia on a world called Cocoon..."
Squall had not seen Ultimecia with his own eyes, but he had to believe Seifer. Despite not getting along with Seifer, Squall highly doubted that he would play such a cruel joke. It would be nice to have Seifer on their side which Squall knew it would not sit well with the others. He knew that Rinoa might have been worried about being controlled again. How could Squall prevent that from happening again? The obvious answer was to find Ultimecia another sorceress to control, but he would never do something like that.
"... I won't let her get to you again. We'll find her and put an end to her, once and for all." |

"I thought that's what we did the last time Squall....."Holding herself as she looked off towards the side, she could see students moving through the center of the garden, getting as much distance from the academy as possible. Was this really happening all over again? Could the world be in danger so soon? As much as Rinoa didn't want to to accept it, there was no denying that something was happening. Seifer had seen her in another world, did that mean she was spreading out. How exactly did she get there? Did it have something to do with those portals that Squall had mentioned? If so, then how would they be able to stop her if she was moving from one world to the next? As much as she was afraid of being used as a tool against her friends, she was more worried about the places that had no idea of her abilities. "I can't hide here forever....If we don't find her, she might just destroy another world or worse...."((XD Wrong account Loon)) |

"This time I will make sure she'll never return."
He stepped forward and wrapped Rinoa in his arms, holding her tightly. Squall was Rinoa's knight, but more importantly Rinoa's was Squall's love. He was going to let anyone or anything take her away from him. Honestly, when he heard of Ultimecia's return Squall was frightened, but seeing Rinoa now only gave him the strength and the courage he needed to step back into battle with the time witch. It would be extremely hard, but everything worst fighting for was.
"I'll become stronger. I won't let her destroy anything... I can't."
He had to kill Ultimecia or die trying. He hated it, but getting Seifer's help would make things go much more smooth. No one would trust Seifer after he had basically became Ultimecia's lapdog. He was brainwashed and knowing Seifer he would want to redeem himself and get his revenge on Ultimecia for using him. He lifted his head to the sky and let out a sigh.
"Trabia was where I saw the first portal and only portal in this world... I was going to use it to get to Cocoon and kill Ultimecia..." He knew saying that would bring up the case that he would need more than Zell if he planned on fighting Ultimecia. It was true, Ultimecia's abilities were too much for Squall to handle alone. ((It happens to everyone Loon XD)) Rinoa closed her eyes as she remained in Squall's embrace. She heard what he was saying, she knew he would do everything he could to keep this promise, but still she was concerned for him. Ultimecia was dangerous, both of them knew this. Her abilities were not to be played with, and that every precaution had to be taken. The last time they had fought her, it had taken everything they had, what was left from what battle now? Did any of them have enough to really go one more round with her? What made the situation worse, was that while she was safe, he was going right after her. Squall would need more than just one person to watch his back. In truth, he'd need everyone. But she had said that she would stay....and she didn't want to fight with him. Yet, could she really just let him go without any kind of plan? Did he already have something in mind on how to stop the witch? So, Rinoa didn't say anything. Instead of objecting to the idea, she remained silent. But she wrapped her arms around him as well, feeling a tear go down her face at the fact that she was helpless to do anything. Squall.... |

Squall did not what else he could say. Words were pretty much useless unless you put actions behind them. Seeing Rinoa like this just broke Squall's heart. He loved to see her happy and talking, it was what made him happy. He was extremely happy with his friends, his family now. He just did not showcase it how the rest of the gang did. Everyone had their own way of expressing themselves. Seeing the way he acted, Squall knew he needed to change. Nothing to big, but he wanted people to enjoy having him around. He did want to push people away anymore.
Rinoa, she made Squall want to be that better person that people did not mind having around. He kissed her on the forehead and then looked into her eyes, giving off a gentle smile. It was very rare for Squall to smile, especially one that he meant. But did they truly beat Ultimecia before? This was all confusing. He had seen Ultimecia die so did that mean she was revived? "Let's get married..." Well, that was on the spot. A part of him was just saying that to get Rinoa's mind off of things, but he did truly want to marry Rinoa. Marriage, a lifetime of commitment.
"I don't have a ring, but I can buy one, anyone you like." |

The young woman froze, her eyes wide as she looked up towards the man who was smiling over her. She wasn't sure whether she had just heard something in her head, or if he had truly said it. But the thought alone left her still in his arms, unable to even breath for a moment. It was if the world had stopped completely, and only they were moving at that time. Had Squall really...said they should get married? "You know I hate it when you tease me about serious stuff like that..."Rinoa looked up at him with a smirk, though in his eyes, she couldn't see if he was serious or joking. What if he was serious? A calm expression then slowly took over her face as she wiped the lingering tear from her eye while looking to the side.
"Or....do you...really mean that?"
The young woman could feel the heat rushing to her face, causing her to blush. |

"No, I never been more serious. I want you to take me as your husband."
He gazed back into her eyes, smiling slightly. They wanted Squall to speak his mind, they wanted him to speak to them. Sometimes actions spoke louder than words so why not get married? Squall was sure that Rinoa felt the same way as he did about her. They loved each other. Ultimecia may be able to kill Squall, but his love for Rinoa would never die. That alone would give him the strength to beat the witch.
"I've made a lot of... Mistakes. I thought a life of solitude would keep me safe from ever being hurt again. That solitude was nothing more than a cancer slowly killing me. You helped me realize that I do need others, that it's okay to count on another people. In a way... You've saved me from myself. I love you."
Squall just wished he would have been more smooth about it. This was suppose to be a candlelight dinner, a walk on the beach under the moonlight, or something romantic. Instead, they had just left a train station and were in the center of Balamb Town. Technically, she did have Squall's ring around her neck still. That would just have to suffice as an engagement ring for now. Squall took a deep breath and dropped to one knee, gently grabbing Rinon'a hand.
"Rinoa Heartilly... Be my wife... Will you please marry me?" |

Moment Music XD"Squall..........."Rinoa held on hand up to her lips, looking around as people seemed to be getting the idea of what was happening here. She could feel her face getting redder as she watched the young mercenary get on one knee before her and take her hand in his. Squall had weird timing in showing his feelings, but she had wanted for him to be more expressive in them. Though she knew thought he would do something like this, especially out here in public. I really mean that much to him....She had been questioning her role here in the garden, unsure of what the future held for their relationship, or everything. But now she seemed to have gained an answer, her place was at his side...forever. It didn't matter what came their way, as long as they were together. Even from far away, in the deepest reaches of space and time, they're love would always find each other. Her closed for a moment as she felt a tear slide down her face. Rinoa then looked back into Squall's face, nodding with a smile.
"Yes.....Of course..."
From there, she quickly embraced him, kissing his lips as she held tightly to him. People seemed to be cheering, but the young female could care less. At this point, she was in another world all together.

Rejection, Squall feared rejection. Basically, he spilled his heart and left it lying in Rinoa's hands. It was her's to fill or burst. Squall was sure that Rinoa would say yes one day, but he feared that this day was too soon. He was completely positive about the decision. Rinoa, the girl who meant everything and more to him, was going to be his wife. What if she says we should wait... This is going to be so embarrassing... They had drawn the attention of the crowds of people walking around.... Great.
Now a tear rolled down her cheek. Was she unhappy? Maybe it was too soon. But hearing what Rinoa said next brought a surprise look on his face. Yes... She said yes! As she embraced him, Squall felt back from kneeling and to the ground. It did matter. He wrapped his arms around Rinoa and smiled as she placed her lips against his.

Rinoa giggled as she continued to look into his eyes as she remained kneeling front of him. It was so hard not to smile, especially with news like this. She wasn't sure if she could keep such a thing quiet if she wanted to. She'd have to tell Selphie first, though that might be enough. If she told her, the girl would likely tell everyone before she or Squall had the chance. But the more she thought about it, the more she began to wonder if telling the others would be a good idea right now? After all, they all needed to focus on trying to find Ultimecia.
"Then again....Maybe...we should wait. After all....We still need to find Ultimecia right? It's ok to tell everyone after we do that right?"Tilting her head to the side as she placed her hands on her lap, Rinoa waited calmly for what Squall would say.

As soon as possible? Squall should have suspected that to be her answer. It was actually the same answer that Squall wanted to give too. Tell everyone that they were getting married was just what everyone needed, right? The gang would have something else to tease Squall about and everything would seem like it was normal. They would have a future to look forward to instead of Ultimecia's shadow that lingered over them. So the timing could not be more perfect. Most importantly, it made Rinoa happy and that was all Squall ever wanted nowadays.
"Let's go with your first idea. You and I both know that the gang would be upset with us for holding something this big from them..." He smiled slightly, "Besides, we can deal with Ultimecia when the time comes. We'll all fight again and defeat her again... Together."
Ultimecia was a highly intelligent enemy, Squall would hate to admit. Someone like her would have no problems figuring out how to work those portals and enter their world. So she had to be planning something or something was keeping her from leaving Cocoon... Or maybe she would try everything she did with the gang here on Cocoon. Squall and company would have to stop her, but first they would have to focus on how to work those portals.
