~HighWind Nightmare~It doesn't matter what our focus is, we do it. Whether we like it, or not.” Once again standing on her home, Fang stood with her hands on her hips and watched the beasts roam the land. It felt good to be back. Really good. “Damn good t' be back.” Going to different worlds and seeing them was all fine and dandy, but coming back to your own home in your own world was the best thing. Besides, Fang hadn't really been able to enjoy her time on Gran Pulse the last time she had woken up. It had been nice, but she had only been able to be there for a few days before Vanille and herself had left with Fate for other worlds. That had been all fine and dandy, but right now she was on Gran Pulse to stay. Awake and alive. That was how things were going to stay. Thankfully there was no problems with the fal'cie. No new l'cie had been found on Gran Pulse.
If things went as she hoped there would never be any more l'cie made. No one deserved to have to go through what the gang had to go through. Yet they had come through it none the worse off. Well, her and Vanille had gone to crystal stasis for a few months, but other then that nothing bad had happened. They had 'saved' Cocoon, the citizens were living on Gran Pulse and Gran Pulse was still here. That seemed like a happy ending to her. Now what were they supposed to do though? Fang had grown up in a life where you DID things. There wasn't any bright future, no happy ending, no future beyond the next battle and fulfilling their focus. Well now they really could have a future.
It was odd really. Now that Fang could focus on having a future the person she wanted to share it with was a l'cie as well. Face remained void of emotion on that subject however. It was what destiny had brought, there was really nothing she could do about it. Tracking him down to talk to him once more might not turn out so well though. Angeal had told her how he felt about her coming to help him. Basically forbidding her. Well if he didn't like it he could just go cry to someone else, because she was going to try finding him and helping him. That was all in the future though. Right here and now she could just enjoy the time she had, free of a focus or a damn brand. Or so she thought.
Standing there looking out over Gran Pulse, green eyes were drawn to the crystallized world resting on the land. Quite the ornament to have looking pretty all crystallized on Gran Pulse. Nothing more then that. A shell of what it used to be. “You can jus' stay that way.” She didn't care if it always remained crystallized forever. Gran Pulse was better anyway. Focusing on what was around her, Fang shoved the thought of Cocoon out of her head and focused on what else was on her mind. Vanille and that Fate boy. Could she let her go if Vanille decided to go with him and leave Gran Pulse forever? Fang blinked a few times and dropped her hands from being on her hips. What would she do if Vanille left? Pulse wouldn't be the same without the bubbly red head.
What would Fang say if she knew what the future would bring? Probably a string of colorful words. Yet she didn't, so for the moment she could relax and hope the future brought good things. Like the restoration of Oerba, and the citizens of Cocoon actually actually appreciating Gran Pulse instead of pining away for Cocoon. Fang had never liked Cocoon anyway, it was just another pawn that was used to try and bring back the maker. As far as she was concerned Cocoon being crystallized was a good thing. The citizens were bound to get irritating at times, but there really wasn't anything they could do about that. “If they'd get a grip they'd see the beauty a' Gran Pulse.” Crossing her arms then, Fang thought about how much had changed since she had been alive for real five hundred years previous. A whole hell of a lot. But not all of it was bad really, it just seemed like it since everything changed. LIttle did she know just how much the future would indeed change. Destiny would step in once again, altering their lives forever... Army Of One”It’s not a question of can or can’t, there are some things in life you just do.” Gran Pulse…
It just wasn’t home to Lightning still, sure she liked the place, was used to it, and could handle herself, but there was part of her that yearned for her home back on Cocoon, perhaps not the government that world had, with the Fal’Cie pulling the strings of the Sanctum…but that world was great none the less, at least to her it was. There was something about Pulse though, that drew her to it, she came to love this world just as much as Cocoon, but in a different way. This place was wild and free, you could do anything, and many challenges awaited you, but sometimes, a little order was needed and the Cocoon citizens, despite their appreciation for a world to live on instead of being crystallized or dead, well…order needed to be set. PSICOM was making up stories of how well they were keeping the citizens safe, and granted, they did shoot down a few beasts here and there, but they had no idea what it was like to face the REAL beasts of Pulse, and face off with its Fal’Cie.
Stepping across the few patches of grass and dirt, Lightning stopped in her tracks and stared at the world that was crystallized, the world she used to call home. Placing her hands on her hips, her pink hair blew in the breeze ever so slightly, and her eyes blinked only a few times as she stared up at the lovely pieces of ‘art’ that stood before her. With a light silent sigh, Light looked down at the ground shaking her head some as she dropped one hand to her side, the other placed carefully on the curve of her hip. “Is there any way…?” She asked herself softly, referring to finding a way to bring Cocoon back to life, for it to drift back into the skies of Pulse and become free again, to be able to live on and restart. It would be nice, but then again…would things go back to the way they were before? With a paranoia of Pulse and its former L’Cie? Lightning hoped that if anything were to happen, to make Cocoon livable again, that things within the Government and society would change. Perhaps this little journey to Pulse these Citizens took, would make them realize this place wasn’t so bad after all.
Staring back up at Cocoon, Lightning started her stride again towards the crystallized planet. In the distance a familiar figure could be seen. Light smiled a little to herself as she saw the blue and black outfit of the wild woman she had grown to consider family. Fang, another pleasant surprise. As Lightning strolled her way up to Fang she kept quiet, her eyes shifting from Fang to Cocoon, they both seemed to be thinking about that world, whether it was good or bad beyond their thoughts, they were still thinking about it.
As Lightning approached Fang from behind, she ended her stride when she stood right next to the woman. “Still unbelievable…” she mumbled quietly through a tiny smile on her face before flickering her eyes over to Fang and soon turning her head to get a better look at the woman. “What brings you out here? Vanille anywhere around?” Light asked before crossing her arms across her chest and looking back at Cocoon. It was strange to think that this was a ‘new beginning’ for them, no focus, no nothing, it was sort of too good to be true, then again, Lightning had an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of her stomach, like this wasn’t going to last, this free ride of ‘no focus’ or any strings attached.
Something was coming, she could feel it, but to pinpoint exactly what it was…Light had trouble with that, it seemed impossible. What could be calling them forth now? A new focus? A random coincidence? No way, this was something planned…but what? Words: 741 Muse: Good Tagged: Fang, Vanille, Cid Notes: Sorry its a bleh start >.>

Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.It had been nice to go out and see a new world, but Gran Pulse was the place to be, it was home. A beautiful world with vast plains and yes, ruins, but still just as beautiful and wonderful as it had been over 500 years ago. It was still the best place Vanille had thought of as her and Fang’s home. No matter how beat up this place was, how rugged and wild it was, the two woman had always seemed to survive it out here, easily too. But not everything was spiraling downwards for this grand world, there was some restoration of Oerba going on, and if that could be rebuilt to its former glory…why couldn’t the other small ruins and villages of Pulse be re-created as well? It was a great idea and Vanille couldn’t wait to see this place at the peak of its glory for her lifetime. Everything seemed to be looking clear for the future, despite Fate being a L’Cie and all, but still, there was a future for Vanille, she could almost see it right in front of her face.
Laying in the grass of the Archylte Steppe, Vanille had her arms behind her head and knees were bent, one crossing over the other as she relaxed back and stared at the clear blue sky. With a heavy relaxing sigh she closed her eyes for a few minutes, taking it all in, the fresh air of Gran Pulse. As she laid there, in completely relaxation, Vanille then felt a wet nose nuzzle against her stomach, opening her eyes she sat up and moved so that she was sitting criss-cross, and then a tiny little sheep leaped into her lap ‘baaa’ing at her and she giggled. Oh how these cute little critters reminded her of Fate, they seemed to follow him around anytime he was near them, and it just made her laugh anytime one of these little guys came around. As she sat there now holding the sheep in her lap, she stroked against its fluffy wool and smiled. “You love it here too don’t you?” She chimed at the little creature who nuzzled its nose against her, as if it were responding to her question.
Vanille had been sitting around for quite a while today, looking up from the sheep into the distance she now sighed, it wasn’t exactly happy, but she was content that was for sure. Anytime she looked at that crystallized Cocoon, it reminded her of how they had saved the world, rather than destroying it. Changing their focus into one they were okay with, defying fate, that was the way to go. Now standing up, Vanille still had the sheep in her arms and it didn’t seem to care as she aimlessly started walking towards Cocoon, where it had crystallized itself against Gran Pulse. It was so pretty, all the swirls coming off of it and everything. “It’s so pretty…” she whispered to herself as she kept walking before looking down and away from Cocoon towards its base. Two figures stood there now and Vanille knew exactly who they were. She didn’t feel the need to call out or start running, she would catch up eventually.
Walking up behind Fang and Lightning, Vanille still carried that sheep in her arms, and what probably then gave her away was the sheep ‘baa’ing one more time as it wiggled around in her arms. With a small giggle Vanille then bent down and placed the little fluff ball back on the ground and with its tiny legs it sort of bounced off between Fang and Light, probably going back to its family or something. “They’re so cute aren’t they?” She chimed in behind the two women, knowing they probably knew of her presence, perhaps even before the sheep sounded off to give her away. Call it weird, but Vanille had a strange feeling that this was no ordinary meeting, something drew them all here…but what could it be? Or perhaps they were all just in awe of this beautiful crystallized world that hung over their heads…it really was fascinating, and Vanille shifted her eyes upwards to look at Cocoon with a smile on her face as she stood there rather quietly. ~HighWind Nightmare~It doesn't matter what our focus is, we do it. Whether we like it, or not.” Standing there on the soil of her own home, the sun on her face, the wind on her face, grass rustling around her, Fang felt her shoulders relax. It had been a long time coming. The calm. Life without a focus, without a brand. It was something she didn't think would ever happen actually. Still now that it was here Fang wasn't exactly sure what to do first. Beat the hell out of some beasts? Relax under the sunshine and take a nap? Go find the rest of the gang and see how they were doing with their lives? Some part of her wondered what they really were up to. Snow and Serah being lovey dovey and planning that wedding? Fang needed to meet this Serah, that was high on her list of what she needed to do. Though Snow and Sazh had forgiven her and Vanille for causing Serah and Dajh to become l'cie, Fang couldn't help but be a little guilty still.
Seeing them alive might serve to appease her guilt, the guilt she hadn't ever shown except that one time. The time she had talked to Sazh about it, and even then she hadn't bee able to really get out just how bad she felt. Fang knew what it was like, having someone taken away from you...Cocoon had bee responsible for the death of her family, which had caused her to hate the floating world. How much more would she have hated if she knew exactly who had been the person responsible for their deaths? If she had known who it was Fang would have gone directly to them to get revenge for a family she never got to have. As it was that was the reason for becoming a l'cie in the first place. Yet she couldn't remember that part of her life.
Such thoughts were interrupted by a certain soldier woman coming up behind her. In Gran Pulse you'd better know every damn thing that was going on around you. For that reason, though she hadn't turned her head, Fang felt the presence of the woman she now considered part of her family. Nodding her agreement, Fang crossed her arms and shifted her weight so that she was leaning more on her right leg. “Ya' know wha'? Your roight, sometimes I still don't believe its over.” Yet it was, completely over with, done, finished, the new dawn had begun. Or so they all thought. Fang herself was just thankful to be alive without a focus once more,
What had brought her here? Really she didn't know. It was a feeling she had, the feeling to want to see Cocoon's shell once again. Now that she thought about it Fang really had no idea what had drawn her to this exact location. Looking out over Gran Pulse with Light standing beside her it seemed almost like it had been to easy. They had saved a world, beating all the odds, but now that it was all over it was like...something remained unfinished. It was a feeling she had deep in her gut, something that bothered her. She wanted to let go of that feeling. But somehow it remained. If it was anyone else Fang might not say anything...but since it was Light she had to be truthful.
“Eveh get that feelin' that somethin's just...off? Like a page left unfinished? Somethin' just doesn't...feel roight.” Shrugging her shoulders, Fang dipped her head and scuffed a foot against the ground before lifting her face back up and cocking it to look at the woman beside her. “That's how I feel roight now...but I can't put a finger on jus' why I feel that way...” With a chuckle Fang lifted her hands up to shoulder level and grinned. “Maybe I've foinally gone crazy.” really though Fang was talking about this, but would Light think she was crazy? Fang was serious. Something...something was wrong. Something didn't feel right. Yet she had no idea what. Was it just her imagination having run wild? Or was it something more. The change of topic took her by surprise a bit, so she tried to think about that instead of her weird thoughts. Vanille? She hadn't seen her since coming back and parting ways again. “Not in a bit. We came back from world hoppin' a little bit ago-” the sound of sheep made her stop and turn her head to see the very girl walking toward them.
“Speak a' the devil.” The smile on her face was relaxed and happy however. Seeing the sheep in Vanille's arm made her eyes twinkle. The cheerful girl had always loved those fluffy things. Following its movements with her steady green eyes, Fang shook her head and turned those eyes back on Vanille. “Just talkin' 'bout ya' Missy. But you answered the question.” Lifting her arm, Fang went to do their custom fistbump. Eyes softened as she looked at the girl that had always been like her family. She really did love the girl more then anything else and would do anything for her and to keep her safe. Words;; 1011 Muse;; epic! Army Of One”It’s not a question of can or can’t, there are some things in life you just do.” With a hand on her hip Lightning continued to stare up at Cocoon, all crystallized and sparkling from the sun gleaming off each crystal shard that stuck to it…it was really breathtaking…though…she couldn’t help but wonder what would become of this world? Would It too become uncrystallized like Vanille and Fang had? Like her and the rest of the gang had? Though that was much quicker than Fang and Vanille, but still…maybe there was a possibility. But if that did happen…what would the Cocoon citizens do? Would they return to their beloved world and go back to the way things used to be? Or would it be like all these events never happened…dropping back to their fears of Pulse right around the time when the purge started a while back. Hopefully not, Lightning didn’t want to go through any moments of déjà vu, at least with those memories she didn’t.
Standing there next to Fang, still keeping her eyes and thoughts on Cocoon, Light smiled a bit, just the corner of her mouth turned upright as she felt her hair drift in the breeze a bit. It truly did seem impossible a few months back…with Barthandules taunting them about their focus, trying to make them give in to despair and become ragnarok…to destroy Cocoon…but they overcame that…now Barthandules was gone, and the Fal’Cie weren’t necessarily pulling the strings anymore. It was good to be free. “It’s all thanks to you…you and Vanille…you saved Cocoon.” Light spoke softly as she sighed heavily, at peace still, she then let her eyes drift away from the crystallized world ahead of her and she turned her head to face Fang a bit, so she could see the woman out of the corner of her eyes at least. “Never really got a chance to thank you Fang…” she said almost with a happy tone to her voice, but still more towards that monotone and quietness she always held.
It seemed strange that this was Lightning’s destination. All of a sudden…something had drawn her to Cocoon…like a force greater than her will, just calling her to come here. It was strange, but up until now, Light have never really thought about it. Was it by her own accord that she drifted this way? Or was something indeed calling her out here? And what about Fang? Did she have this eerie feeling too? And then Fang spoke, almost as if the wild woman was reading her mind. With a small “Hm?” Lightning cut her eyes to Fang once again to listen to what she was saying. “Oh. Sort of.” She said quietly before moving her one hand from her hip and folding her arms across her chest, keeping herself evenly balanced on both feet as she started to think about it. Cocoon didn’t look so breathtaking anymore…she did feel like…like there was still more to go on…this story wasn’t over, there was something stirring in the air, it made Light feel uneasy.
“No, I don’t think you’ve gone crazy…at least just yet.” Lightning said with a shrug of her shoulders as she was thinking. What could possibly go on now? she said to herself as she remained quiet listening to Fang about what her and Vanille had been doing…world hopping? But the statement was cut off by the arrival of Vanille herself! Ironic wasn’t it? You speak of her, and she appears, cheery as ever. Turning a bit to face the cheery red head. “Smiling as ever I see.” Lightning said with that tone still in her voice, a sense of happiness, though her expression didn’t say much at all…in fact it was rather blank, but her eyes sparkled a bit and revealed some emotion. Light may be a little on the emotionless side (except for anger), but she could be sentimental, sympathize with people, and sure, maybe croak out a laugh…every once in a blue moon, she wasn’t completely heartless, and she cared for Vanille and Fang as if they were her own family…but now that Vanille was here…that question came back to mind…what was calling them here…or who? Hopeful DreamerWishes can come true. But not if you just wait for miracles. Miracles are things we make for ourselves. Here, and now.Being on the outskirts of Oerba, you got a good glimpse at Cocoon, though it wasn’t Vanille’s favorite place, she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for its citizens. They had lost a home, Vanille knew if she were in that position, she’d be grateful for the place to stay now, but she’d easily get homesick after awhile. Of course, who wouldn’t love Gran Pulse? It was beautiful and full of life! Though people have different taste in a lifestyle, that was their own opinion, and she could respect that, but in her eyes, this was the best place to be…to be free and untamed. Stepping to where Light and Fang were in view, Vanille smiled to herself as she kept that little sheep in her arms, snuggling it close to her as she came closer to the two before setting the little sheep down to wander off back to its family or get some food, whatever it wanted to do.
When word was finally spoke, first by Fang, Vanille’s eyes lit up as she smiled happily watching the sheep bounce off before looking up at Fang then over to Lightning. “Oh? Well, I guess I came at about the right time huh?” She said cheerfully before giggling a bit and folding her arms behind her back as she rocked back and forth between her heals and the balls of her feet. Vanille was never one to really keep still, as happy and cheery as she was, she was just a naturally happy-go-lucky type of person, even through the terrible times. Back when her and the gang had been on their mission to get to Oerba, even before that, she had pushed for them to ‘go a little but further’, and it seemed to have done the trick, if they had given up back on that Ark, or even after Hope had collapsed from his brand when first getting to Gran Pulse, then things might not have turned out the way they did.
Smiling as ever, that was Vanille for you. Even in the most serious of times, Vanille could be happy, but serious at the same time. She knew when the time was to joke around and when it was time to be serious and focus, not that she exactly liked the serious tone, it usually meant something was wrong or not right, so of course jokes and happy giggles were her preference. “Yep! That’s me! All smiles.” She said before letting her hands make their way to her hips and she started to calm herself down, not as much rocking back and forth, more shifting her weight in a permanent spot as she had most of her weight on her left food and her hands on her hips. Glancing from Lightning to Fang, Vanille cocked her head to the side a bit. “Can I ask a strange question?” She started before her eyes were drawn to Cocoon. “Do you think something’s up? I mean…I might sound a bit crazy here, but I feel as if something drew me here…I’m not quite sure what…but I don’t think it’s just a silly coincidence.” She said shrugging her shoulders as the curls that laid on them bounced a bit as her eyes then sank back to Fang, glancing at Light every so often as well. Waiting for their replies, Vanille just sighed and tried to figure up her own logical explanation.
Now that the hyper buzz had been killed by those questions of hers, Vanille didn’t feel so good. Her face fell from happy to sort of blank, even her mouth curled downwards a bit as her eyes then shifted to the ground. Scraping her heal against the ground she started to wonder, perhaps…this whole Fal’Cie, Cocoon hating Pulse and vice versa wasn’t over yet…something in the pit of her stomach told her something was wrong…but…what was it? It was a déjà vu feeling almost…and she didn’t like it. Words: 769 Muse: Good! Tagged: Fang & Light Notes: EPIC THREAD!!!
