Dollet. Another city, another pointless journey. He headed into the local bar and sat down a booth, trying to ignore the fact that people's eyes were glued on him. Attention was something that Hallelujah was not to fond of, but his partner, Greed, loved basking it in. After sitting down a waitress came up the boy with a slight grin on her face, asking the boy for his order. "I'm fine. I do not desire to eat at this time," He spoke. Yes, that was the most Hallelujah would say. He was not a person who had much to say. He preffered not to talk to people because you would eventually get close to them, only for them to be taken away.
Hallelujah was not here at the bar to socialize or eat. No, he was on a mission. Bars was a great source of information and the information he needed was the whereabouts of his father. Tonight, he would end the man's life. Make him pay for the death of his mother. A few girls walked pass, smiling and waving slight. He still had that blank expression on his face. All they seen was a pretty face and had no idea of what lies beneath his skin; a monster.

The girl’s eyes fluttered open. She looked at the clock. 4:20. 4:20?! She was going to be late for her shift! She scrambled out of bed, only to hit her wrist on the end table. She yelped in pain, her ears going back on her head. That’s right. She had ears and a tail, but only because she was a neko. She had been born this way, and she really didn’t mind it that much, besides the whole being made fun of bit. Everywhere she went she was made fun of, and she really hated it. But over the last few weeks she had gotten used to it. At times she wanted to be normal, but sometimes she was glad that she was different.
She rushed around, jumping in the shower for five minutes. She then got dressed in her uniform, and rushed around, trying to make herself look at least halfway decent. When she was done rushing around, she looked at the clock. 4:25! She had five minutes to get to work! She grabbed her purse and keys, and grabbing a banana rushed out the door to her car. It was a good thing she didn’t live very far. She could get to work in five minutes or less if she hurried. She just hoped her boss wouldn’t scream at her for being a minute or two late. She hated getting yelled at.
She sped down the street and ended up at the bar. She may not have been old enough, but the owner/manager of the bar didn’t care. Whatever work he could find for his bar was good enough for him, regardless of age. And the girl needed the money to pay off her apartment anyway, so everyone won. She burst through the door and looked at the clock. It said 4:30 right on the dot. She breathed a sigh of relief, and hung up her coat and things in the back. “I’m here!” “You’re cutting it close there Kaori!” She sighed. Her name was Ariwara Kaori, or Ari for short. She didn’t like it when her boss used her last name to yell at her.
She then came out and started to serve the customers, including a man who looked kind of creepy. She didn’t trust this man, but she couldn’t say anything since she didn’t know him. She always wanted to speak her mind, but she knew that if she did, she would get fired, and right now she needed all of the money she could get to pay off all of her bills, and this bartending job paid good money. She needed to do everything she could to keep her job.

Now he had to find the source that would feed him the information he needed. He surveyed everyone in bar, trying to find the right person. Bingo! He had found his target; the young lady who was being scolded by her boss. Kaori was her name. Hallelujah had to say she did look a bit out of the strange. Those ears? Was those real? Well, it did not matter. Hallelujah was sure he could get something out of her.
He kept silent a moment before signaling the waitress over who tried to take his order earlier. "The young female with the... ears. I need to speak with her." The waitress gave Hallelujah an odd look as if she could not believe he wanted to talk to Kaori. She stared at him for a moment, but could see that he was completely serious. Sighing, she walked passed Kaori, "That loser in the booth wants to talk to you," She said. ((Sorry, another short post. They'll get better as I move along.))

As Ari served some others, and went back and forth, she was starting to get exhausted and it was only the beginning of her shift. She wiped sweat off of her forehead and sighed. She then continued serving the others. The bar would get busier and busier towards the night. She just hoped that there wouldn’t be any more fights like last night. She still had scratches and bruises from that fight, and she was still sore from trying to keep the two men that had been fighting apart. That was one of the reasons she hated her job. She hated her job for some other reasons, but she didn’t have time to list them right now.
She was about to go serve another man when she was told by a waiter that a man wanted to talk to her. She frowned, her ears halfway up. A man wanted to talk to her? That was very unusual, especially for her. Who would want to talk to a freak like her? No one wanted to talk to her until now. She wondered what this man wanted. She figured it wasn’t good. She nodded at the waitress, thanking her for notifying her. She then finished delivering the man’s order and walked over to the other man that had requested her. “Um, you wished to speak with me?” Her ears were halfway down, being cautious about this man since she didn’t know him very well and didn’t know what he was going to do.

((Sorry, for the late response. Ima so gonna get her fired! ^0^ Apologize for 'handling' your charrie at the end of the post a little.)) Clearly, the waitress was highly upset with Hallelujah for some reason, but honestly he did not care. He was please to see that she had done what he had asked of her. As Kaori walked toward him, Hallelujah looked her up down, examining her figure and all. She was quite beautiful, he would admit, but he was not here to mingle. She just seemed like he could squeeze information out of. As she spoke, Hallelujah did not dare make any eye contact. He hated looking into people's eyes for he feared they would see into his soul. Yeah, it was stupid, but it was something he could not break free of.
"Yes. I need informa--" Before he could even finish, Hallelujah's eyes averted to the entrance. Three guys walked into the bar, scanning the area as if they were looking for someone. Unfortunately, that person happen to be Hallelujah. He had ran into a group of theives that tried to rob him, but he was no easy prey. He handled the three theives with easy and left them unconcious. Apparently, they were here for a drink or two. Told you that you should have killed them. Tsk, tsk.
Ignoring the thoughts going on in his head, Hallelujah had to somehow slip out without these guys noticing him. He was not in the mood for useless fighting, especially with a few idiots. He got up from the booth and gently pushe passed Kaori, but the three men started walking his way. He had to think fast! They were going to see him... No! He quickly turned around and pulled Kaori into an embrace, locking lips with her. He had to say that this was not the best and greatest idea he ever had, but it worked for the time being.
The theives walked passed jeering at the sight of the 'couple' and not getting a good look at the boy. He was trying to buy a small window of time to just walk out of the bar unnotice. "My apologies..." He said. He pushed away from Kaori and quickly headed for the entrance by was stop yet again. Feeling a cold hard grip around his left forearm, Hallelujah turned only to met with the hard right fist of one of the theives.
"Looks like we found our prey boys! And lookie here! We found his little girly friend." Hallelujah stumbled back into one of the tables, knocking it over. He rubbed his jaw as he found his way back to his feet. The two other theives walked over to Kaori and grabbed her by the arms as if they were taking her hostage. "The girl has no part in this. So if you please set her free and i'll give you all the gil (gil is what they call money in most Final Fantasy games)."

Ari wasn’t sure what the man wanted, but she decided to be cautious. She looked him over. He seemed a bit creepy, and she didn’t like the fact that he was avoiding eye contact with her, but he was a customer, and her manager had always told her to obey the customer as long as they got money. She sat down, seeing that the man wanted to talk for a little while. She only hoped that her manager didn’t see her and think that she was slacking on the job. The last thing she needed right now was to get fired from her only good paying job. She needed the money for her apartment, and no job equaled no money and no money equaled no apartment. She never wanted that to happen.
She frowned when he suddenly cut his sentence off and she frowned, a bit confused. She saw his eyes dart to the entrance, and she turned around. She saw the three men, and could tell that this was going to be trouble. What she didn’t know was that the three men were there for the creepy guy, and not to pick a bar fight like they did almost every night. She wondered what the man was going to do, and how he was going to escape from them. She watched him push past her, which she thought was rude, and then the man did the unthinkable.
He pulled her into an embrace and kissed her. She squealed in surprise, and tried to push him away, but he was too strong for her. She got into the kiss, and watched with a side glance as the men passed her and the creepy man. She then was pushed away, and she wiped her mouth, still in shock at what the man had done in order to not get noticed. It was very rude, but she had enjoyed it a little. She frowned, seeing that the man hadn’t escaped. She didn’t know what they were going to do, and she started to back away, trying not to get involved.
However, she was suddenly taken hostage by two of the members of the men that had come looking for the creepy man. She struggled against them, but to no avail. She was too small and too puny. Meanwhile her manager was out on an errand, so she couldn’t call for help. She knew she had no choice but to use her powers. She only hoped that the man wouldn’t be mad at her. Her eyes glowed white, and she got angry. “Let me go!” A hug blast of wind came, knocking the two men that held her hostage to the floor. She then stood in front of the man, growling at the thug who threatened him. Her ears were completely flat against her head. She meant business.

Pulling her into an embrace and kiss was not a great idea. Hell, he did not even know her full name and she did not know his at all. He had also thought that his first kiss would be a little more special then this. Not that he really had a problem with Kaori, it just that they knew nothing about each other. Well, he had apologized for it so it was no need for him to worry about it at the moment. He had bigger problems, problems that he had drawn at innocent girl into. Greed would care less about dragging someone into his problems, but not Hallelujah. Despite his cold demeanor he actually truly cared about those who he allowed himself to get close to.
Things were quickly taing a turn for the worst. He could easily take these guys out, but he did not want to risk them hurting anyone. He stared them down with that same blank expression he gave everyone. He would have to act fast if he did not want anyone to get hurt. He reached into his jacket, placing his hands on his two butterfly swords. His planned was to take down the two theives holding the girl by throwing the blades and he would charge and take out the one who was the leader.
Fortunately, there was no need for Hallelujah at all. The girl seemed fully capable of defending herself. It was apparent that the huge gust of wind knocking the two theives over was from the girl. Hallelujah raised an eyebrow. No only did she have strange ears, but she had powers? The last theif looked at the girl and started to back away, backing into Hallelujah. Hallelujah took him by the back of the neck and slammed his head into one of the tables, leaving his out cold just as his friends. He stared at Kaori for a moment trying to find something to say, but could not find any words at all. The only words that came to mind and that he would allow himself were: "Thank you."

Ari was ready to take out the man, and she smiled when he started to back away from her. He was scared of her. That was good. She wanted them to be scared of her. She didn’t want to be taken as some scared little neko. She was always taken for granted because of how small she was and how timid she looked. She wanted to prove to people that she could stand up for herself. She started towards the man, and then gasped as the creepy man took him by the neck and smashed him into a table. The man was stronger than he looked, and she wasn’t sure if she should be afraid of him or be in awe of his strength. She relaxed from her defensive mode and laughed nervously.
“No problem. I didn’t want anyone getting hurt.” She hated using her powers, but she only used them for defense, and that situation had called for it. She knew her manager would come back any minute, so she set to cleaning things up. If her manager really knew what had gone on in here, then she would be fired in no time. She sighed, going to the closet and pulling out a broom. She started to sweep, and once she was done, she put the broom back in the closet. She then went back to the man, and folded her hands politely behind her back. “You wished to speak with me sir? I don’t believe I know you.” She waited for him to answer.

Hallelujah just continued to stare at her until he caught her gazing back. He quickly threw his eyes to the floor to hide his eyes. Honestly, he did not know why he was hiding his eyes from this girl. Yes, his eyes were two different colors, but he still believe that she was the weird one in this group. She had cat ears and weird wind powers. Hallelujah sure knew how to pick 'em. She's interesting. I want her on my group! Hallelujah could not have that. He was not for having Greed make anyone his minion so that he could use them.
"You're correct Ms. Kaori. You do not know me nor will you get the chance to. I apologize for this troublesome situation I brought upon you and your place of work. Thank you again." He had spoken more to one person than he had in this entire week. He had to get out of here before he found himself thinking this grl more interesting. He was not worried about the thieves. He was sure once they came back to that they would leave this place completely out of fear of Kaori and her abilities.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out two thousand gil, giving it to the first waitress he spoken to earlier. "For the damages I caused to the bar. I apologize." Hallelujah had did all he could here. Now he had to take his leave before he caused anymore damage or trouble. He placed his hands into his pockets and headed to the entrance to take his leave. He stood outside the bar, looking out to the street for a taxi of some sort to get away from here.

Ari watched the man. His body language was strange, as if he was trying to keep something from her. She couldn’t imagine what, seeing as she didn’t even know the man. Apparently he knew her, which kind of freaked her out a little. How did the man know who she was when they hadn’t even met before tonight? She was a bit afraid of this man, and she backed away a little just to be safe. She didn’t know what this man would do, and she knew that he could kill her probably with one swift movement. She had seen what he had done to the gang member. She didn’t want the same fate.
She was a bit confused at what he had said. Didn’t he want some information from her in the first place? Isn’t that how she met him? This confused her even more, and her ears went up in confusion. She watched him reach into his pocket, and she immediately went into defense mode. She then relaxed when she saw him pull out a wad of money. She watched as he paid her coworker and apologized for the damages. She realized that she had done some of the damage as well, and that she was partly responsible for it. She snatched the money from the waiter, and ignored her cry of protest. She counted it, and gasped. There was two thousand there!
She looked up only to see the man disappear into the night. She gave the money back to the waiter, and again ignored her protest. She rushed towards the door. She had a few questions for the man that had wanted to speak to her. She rushed out the door into the freezing night, not noticing how cold it was. She shivered and wrapped her arms around herself. She then saw the man and confronted him. “Hey wait! I never got your name. And I have a few questions for you too.” Her breath steamed in the frosty night. “Who were those men? Why did they want you? And why did you want to talk to me? And how do you know my name?” The questions all came out in a hurry. She hopped from foot to foot, freezing her ass off. Man was it cold!

He stood there waiting for his taxi, but nothing. What did he have to do to get the attention of one of these drivers? Despite that it was freezing and he could see his breath Hallelujah was still calm and collected. He decided to give a hand gesture a try. Waving his hand around in a goofy manner, he had finally drawn the attention of one of the taxi cabs. "Where to boss?" Hallelujah reached for the door to the backseat, but stopped when he heard that familiar voice. He did not have to turn around to put a face to it.
"Hallelujah Haptism," He responded. He turned to face, but his eyes never met her's once. He could see that she was clearly cold. What was she thinking coming out here in this type of weather? He let out a deep sigh as he took of his jacket, walking over to her. He placed the jacket over her shoulders. At times he hated the fact that he was a gentlemen. The cold, brutal wind did not bother Hallelujah as much so he didn't mind giving his jacket to someone in need. He was sure he could make it to a hotel before freezing to death.
There's two blades in the jacket's inside pockets... Don't be startled. I used them for protection." He was sure she was already scared of him and having blades was not going to help his case. So he just came out with the truth. He only used them on people who he believed deserved it, like his father. His father would surely taste the steel from those blades.
"I don't have forever! I do have to make money!" Wth that said, the taxi driver pulled off. Now he was going to have to wait a long while once again for another taxi cab. He let out another deep sigh before focusing his attention back on Kaori. "They were criminals. They tried to take my belongings when I ran into them earlier. It did not go as they had planned... They must have came to the bar for a drink. I just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As for your name, I heard your boss yell it when you were aparently late. Now, I believe it would be best if you go back inside before you become sick."

Ari shivered as she waited for the man to answer. She didn’t want to get sick but she didn’t want to make the man go back in there. She considered it rude, and she hated being rude to people. She was way too nice to be rude. The only time she was rude was when someone pissed her off or when she was being defensive. She had been rude to the thugs back there when she defend the man. She had also been angry then as well. If you got her even more pissed off, then you were basically screwed. She loved having her powers, but sometimes they were a nuisance as well. She wondered if the man had any powers. She shook her head. That would be too personal, and that was considered rude.
She frowned when the man introduced himself. His name was so unique. She had never heard a name like that before. She kind of liked it since it was so unique. She nodded at him, smiling politely. “My name is Ariwara Kaori to be exact.” She bowed in respect, as she did when she met any new person. It was custom where she was from. She took a few steps back when he stepped forward, taking off his jacket. At first she didn’t know what he was going to do, so she prepared herself for defense, just in case. She then realized it and relaxed, still a little tense as he wrapped it around her. She nodded at his comment about the weapons, not daring to put her hands in the pockets.
She hugged herself, watching her breath. She frowned at his last comment. “I’ll be alright. But I want to know something.” She realized that the old saying was actually true- well, the whole part about the cat and curiosity, but not the killing. “Why did you want to speak with me?” She ignored his getting sick comment. She would be fine, or at least she hoped. She wasn’t worried about getting sick. She was worried about why he wanted to speak with her. She hoped that he wasn’t a spy. Then again, she couldn’t think of anything she had done wrong, so what would a spy want with her anyway? She racked her brain for things she did wrong while she waited for him to answer.

The more time he spent around this girl the more Hallelujah was finding her interesting. Most women seemed to annoy Hallelujah, but Ariwara was respectful. She even bowed when introducing herself. The only true problem that he had was that she seemed so defensive. If he was going to try to hurt her he would have done it long before. "Don't be so defensive. I'm not going to cause you any harm," He said, "I would not hurt any women or child."
Okay, so maybe she was stubborn like other women. Why couldn't she just go inside and just forget everything that happened? Well, she was a grown woman so she could do whatever she pleased. He just hoped that it did not involve him. Getting attached to someone was not something he could allow himself to do. "I thought that you may have some information on someone," He answered, "Kai Shihan. He's was a famous musician. I've heard he lived here in Dollet. I thought you may be able to provide me with his whereabouts."
He had a mission, an objective; destroy Kai Shihan. He had to pay for the death of Hallelujah's mother. It also did not help Kai's case when he came close to killing Hallelujah. "Go back inside. I don't want you to get sick or lose your job." He placed his hands back into his pockets and turned to walk away. He was not going to give her a chance to respond or hit him with anymore questions. He remembered that there was a hotel close by. He would stay there for the night.

Ari frowned. She was being defensive? She didn’t think she was, but then again the man had shown his strength in the bar, and she really didn’t want to anger him. She figured he could kill her with a snap of her neck, and she didn’t want him to do that. Then she realized that she was being defensive. She sighed and bowed. “My apologies sir…” She then looked at him. Hearing the fact that he would not hurt any woman or child was very reassuring, but what if a woman or child threatened him? Then he would be forced to hurt them.
She listened to what he had to say. He had wanted information from her huh? She then gasped. She had heard of the man! In fact, he had played in their bar a couple of nights ago. And she knew exactly where he lived. She was a fan and had kind of stalked him back to his house, but the man didn’t need to know that. She was a bit confused though. What did the man want with a famous musician? She didn’t know why he would want a famous musician. She didn’t know what his reason was, but it must have been pretty good, or at least important, to want a famous musician. She
She frowned when he told her to go back inside. She didn’t like being told what to do, especially by a male. This was where she had to be defensive. “I said I’ll be fine. I’m warm with your jacket. I’m immune to colds anyway.” She truly was warm. The only thing that was cold was her legs and her face- and her tail and ears. She shivered a little, flicking her ears, but then turned back to the man. She was about to say something else when the man started to walk away. She scowled. “What if I told you I did know the man? And what if I told you I know where he lives and can take you there?” She smiled. She had him right where she wanted him, and she knew that if this man wanted the famous musician, then he would have to let her tag along. “I’ll tell you on one condition.” She smiled mischievously.

Did she call him sir? Well, that was very respectful. Hallelujah was finding this girl more interesting by the minute. He let out a slight chuckle, but was sure it was not loud enough for her to hear. "Hallelujah is fine. No need to call me sir," He said. Hopefully, he did not mind certain people calling him by his first name. It was the nicknames that got to him. Secretly, he did like them, but he could not have them ruining his reputation.
Yes, she was a stubborn one. He put his hands in his pockets and closed his eyes a bit longer than a standard blink. "Still, you're working so you should go back inside before you lose your job." Hallelujah had a feeling that she was not going to go with that request either. Hallelujah got the feeling that she really did not enjoy this job. It had to be something she was doing just to get by. Fortunately, she knew of Hallelujah's father. His eyebrow twitched slightly as he thought about seeing his father one last time.
Would the man even remember Hallelujah? Maybe not his face, but he would surely remember his name. It was unique, maybe too unique. "He's my... He help concieve me." Hallelujah would never dare call that man his father. What he done a father would never do. As always, exchanging information came with a price. What could she possibly want? He did not like the smile that was playing across her face. This was not going to be good for Hallelujah, he could see that now. "...The condition?"
